in general allocation money, and the FC Cincinnati home game

(01:06):

September the twenty eighth. All Right, Lee joins us every
week during the football season Paramount sports dot Com on
Twitter at Paramount Sports Lee. It is awesome to have
you as always. How are you?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
I am great, busy summer. Had my daughter, my oldest daughter,
get married, so she's very happy on her honeymoon. Now
feel good about that? Yeah, thanks, moved offices and built
out a brand new studio, so I feel good about everything.
And I see you at every game. Even so, my

(01:41):
social media director says to me, who is Moe Eggers?
She says he is. He is at every game. I said,
he is mister Cincinnati. He is a man of the people.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I would agree with that part. I don't know if
I'm in every game, but I do love attending a
lot a lot of games. I do love attending sporting events.
I wish I was at this one in Dublin. We
get the Big twelve opener, K State and Iowa State.
Kansas State is laying three lee what do we like
week zero?

Speaker 2 (02:12):
So here's what's interesting about this game. So a lot
of people are like, well, how can Kansas State be
favored over Iowa State when Iowa State beating them for
the last five times and covered every single game. They
had nearly identical schedules. Last year, Iowa State schedule was
rated thirty four toughest, Kansas State thirty eighth. But what's

(02:37):
interesting is the Wildcats were actually better in almost every
metric except for record. Example, Kansas State outgained opponents by
eighty three yards per game, Iowa State just sixty two.
So why did Iowa State go eleven and three in
Kansas State nine and four. I think it was mainly turnovers.
Iowa State was plus nine and turnovers for the year,

(02:57):
Kansas State minus one. After it seemed by every year.
The two years before that there were plus eleven and
then plus twelve. I think this game is going to
come down to special teams. Kansas State might have the
best special teams in the country year in and year out.
And then I think Gaby Johnson might be able to
make a play with his feet. And also Iowa State's

(03:20):
pass rush. They went eleven to three last year with
only sixteen sacks on the season, and then the final
nail on the golf in Iowa. State is going to
miss both of their starting receivers which went in the
second and third round, Jaden Higgins and Jalen Noel. They
combined for one hundred and sixty seven catches in seventeen touchdowns.
I don't think you can replace that right away. I

(03:41):
like Kansas State here. I think the right teams favored
twenty seven to twenty.

Speaker 1 (03:45):
All right, laying the number will take the Wildcats. There's
a one other big twelve team in action. Kansas is
hosting Fresno State. The Jayhawk's a big favorite.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Yeah, And I think most people will take Kansas and
think they're just going to here over a first year coach.
But what's interesting is they have a quarterback AJ Warner
for Fresno State. He started for a couple of years
for Temple and actually he's a prolific passer. I think
maybe something is too much made of opening up the

(04:16):
new stadium, and a lot of times, you know, we
see teams open up new stadiums and they either lose
or they have to take it down to the wire
to win. I think thirteen points is too much here.
I think Kansas escapes here thirty one to twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
All Right, so my beloved Bearcats play a week from tonight.
They're going to be it's technically a home game lee
in Kansas City against Nebraska. We can sort of have
a chuckle at that can give me Give me a
few thoughts from your perspective on UC football.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Well, I like the fact that they're bringing back their
quarterback from last year and have a ton of starters now.
They're also we're going to have to find out how
this offensive line can come around. Their career stats drop
to eighty one. They have a couple of guys who
are projected to possibly start and transfers, and that's important
from smaller schools. But also they need the secondary. Both

(05:07):
looks like they have new safety so that's important, and
they got to cut down. They can't allow opponents to
run for four point seven yards per Kerry. We'll hit
into that game a little bit more, but I think
it's optimistic. I think this team is going to win
six or seven games this year. There's a bunch of
teams in the conference I think they're a little bit
overrated and might catch them at the right time as

(05:30):
far as scheduling, So that's important if you're looking for
maybe a team that might be a little underrated as
far as the Big Twelve. I think Utah is gonna
be really good. I like their transfer quarterback from New Mexico.
Also love if you're looking for an absolute shocker for
a team not gonna win the conference, but you want

(05:52):
an over under. One of my top wagers here is Houston.
I think that they can win their over runners five
and a half. I think they can win seven eight games,
so I think Willie Fritz is one of the best
coaches in the Big Twelve. So those are a couple
teams that are underrated, maybe overrated. As Texas Tech. You
look at you know who they're returning, who they brought in.

(06:14):
I just think that Texas Tech is one of those
teams when expectations are high, they're usually going to disappoint.
So Texas Tech unless stay go like ten and two,
they're gonna probably consider all the money they spent to
be a failure.
