You know it's real.
Speaker 3 (00:28):
You know it's time when we start airing promos for
games Michaels and Eagles on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
What's up?
Speaker 3 (00:36):
This is ESPN fifteen thirty on Moeger.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
Thank you for listening.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
Hope you're having an awesome Tuesday. We're busy today. We
have a lot going on training camp updates from Tony Pike.
Trisha Whitaker from Apple TV is gonna call a Reds
game this weekend. We're gonna chat with our Reds. Last
night played a game that, like legit felt like like
real postseason baseball, real pennant chase baseball, even though they're
(01:00):
you don't really get a pennant for winning a wildcard
big win. Last night we will discuss but first of
our friend Paul Danner Junior is here from The Athletic
and the Growler podcast. How is it going? It's going great.
How are you fresh from training camp?
Speaker 4 (01:12):
You know you mentioned this game and how great it
is to be talking about a game on Thursday.
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Yeah, we've never needed a game more.
Speaker 4 (01:20):
I can't imagine how much you feel like, yes, we
need a game, the amount of time that you guys
are putting in a dissection of the camp.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
I think we've all dissected the camp.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
We've all figured out what the practices look and feel
like it's time for real game stuff to change the conversation.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
So you are correct right from that standpoint, I'm excited
there's a game. More people will see the game than
see a practice. There's gonna be some stuff to dissect.
But I am dreading this on Thursday. I have been
not looking forward to this ever since February when we
started talking about God next year, should Joe Burrowing Company
play in these preseason games?
Speaker 2 (01:57):
And it?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Boy, you know, back in February March, let's do it.
It'd be great.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Now, I remember very vividly, easy, sure, it's aggressive, surely
to do this? Yeah, I remember very vividly you talking
about how you literally never want to see Joe Burrow
playing a preseason game.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Yes, bubble raps in the opener.
Speaker 4 (02:20):
Yes, we're all under the admission now that he wants it,
that this fast start thing.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Have you heard about this? Yeah, so the.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
Bengals hard early and they want to reverse.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
They want to start faster now, but previously it's been slow,
and so we're all under the emission that this is
a good thing. We see the value of them playing
thatssivery evil that said, there's gonna be gaps, there's gonna
be tension, there's gonna be worried, and there's gonna be
(02:53):
what sounds like three quarters of preseason action with Joe Burrow.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
I mean, if we're getting.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
About a quarter, it sounds like, uh, this week, it's
certainly the way Zach Taylor was talking today, sounds like
it's gonna be in the range of a half in Washington. Okay,
this is what you want. This is what it needs
to be if you want to win that first game.
But that doesn't mean it's not There's not you're not
gonna see the value in what was happening on the
(03:20):
other side of not having to go through this exercise.
You just to me, here's my here's my my two
cents on it. I see you can protect Burrow, you
can get him his reps, you can do what you
need with him. I think you you can see that.
I don't need to see much T Higgins, Jamar Chase.
Speaker 2 (03:40):
I'm good. Yeah, give me do you want to drive?
Do they want to drive? Give him a drive each.
I do not need to see T.
Speaker 4 (03:46):
Higgins running and risking a soft tissue injury in a
preseason game. And give Joe some game work with Jermaine
Burton and Charlie Jones and these other guys too. You know, like,
that's that's fine. You want to put Burrow out there,
He's the one that needs it. He wants it. You
can find ways to protect him with the scheme and
(04:07):
the play calls. Cool, I'm working. I don't want to
see Tea and Jamar out there too much. Is a
bigger thing for me.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
Yeah, Joe has said he wants to play in these games.
Jamar said he doesn't.
Speaker 5 (04:18):
I not.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Yeah, be happy to give Jamar what he wants.
Speaker 3 (04:20):
And you know, TM Higgins, one of the things he
One of the storylines of the season is can tigue,
get through it healthy and play all seventeen and that's
compromised at least a little bit if he's playing.
Speaker 2 (04:30):
In games that don't count. I don't like this. Yeah,
not gonna watch. You're just not gonna watch.
Speaker 3 (04:35):
No, I'm gonna I'm gonna follow on my phone and
then I'll watch, like on Friday or something.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
I'm not working on Friday.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
So you can watch, if you know, you can watch
the peace of mind of already knowing whatever the injuries
that come of it are. You can maybe watching a
little more analytically. Yeah, yeah, no doubt.
Speaker 3 (04:52):
One day my daughter will have to drive a car.
I understand it.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
I don't.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
I don't want to be driving behind her on I
seventy five. I'm not not going to be able to
do it. No, not going to be able to do that.
So like, uh, but it is a necessary evil and
there's value in it, and which is why for me.
Look all eyes on the offensive line all the time,
and you wrote about some you know, training camp takeaways,
and one of them is about offensive line depth. Now,
(05:17):
the good news is Marius Mims Zach Taylor said is
going to play on Thursday. Maybe they dodged a bullet.
Maybe we're making too big a deal out of the
fact that he was walking around with a cast. I
don't know, but like, all right, man, you've got to
protect him all season long. You've got to protect him
in the game that doesn't count. So you know, like
in on under the microscope for me on Thursday, would
(05:39):
be the offensive line anyway, even more so now.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Yeah, and Dylan Fairchild, no question, you know, that's just
you know, I don't know what the Eagles are gonna do,
but we know who they could line up right across
from Dylan Fairchild with a game that doesn't matter in
his first NFL REP trying to protect Burrow like that
stuff that should concern anybody. But I'm with you, Yeah,
You're it's gonna continue to have the eyes on this
(06:03):
offensive line and once you get even once you get
the starters out of there, sure you know, I just
this is big. We see your idea of things are
gonna be okay changes quickly after the first preseason game
or two when you see that group out there. We
have seen this happen preseason after preseason after preseason around
(06:25):
here where these games have come out and the second
team offensive line has been brutal.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yep, And you.
Speaker 4 (06:31):
Were immediately freaking out about the state of that group
this season. And I think there's plenty of reason to
think that you might be immediately freaking out about this group.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
And maybe it maybe will be proven wrong.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
But you just have so much inexperience, so many question marks,
so little you feel like you can count on once
you get pasted. Really, the top three starters much less
down the depth chart that I'm very curious to see
what that looks like because it could go any number
of directions.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
I want Dylan Fairchild. This is going to sound unreasonable.
I want him to win the job on Thursday night.
I want the first impression to be so strong that
I go cool.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Right.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
That is maybe unfair, maybe unrealistic, but if I had
one wish for Thursday, that's what it is.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Yeah, Dylan Fairchild.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Not that dissimilar from a few years ago when it
was Cordell Vulson versus Jackson Carmen. And say what you
want about Cordell Vulson. Part of why he won the
job was Jackson Carmon was totally ill prepared. But I
remember that preseason game walking away from it going Cordell
Volson's going to play that position. I want Dylan Fairchild
to be subject to a similar dynamic.
Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah, you just want him to look the part. You
don't want him to look out of place.
Speaker 4 (07:41):
You don't want it to look like four guys doing
their job and one guy getting whipped over and over
and again because it could. And so I'm with you
on that thing. You listen to Zach Taylor talking today
and you were saying, we're treating Dylan Fairchild as a starter.
We're viewing him that way. He's going to be in
there when the starters are in, He's going to be
out when starters are out. There's not going to be
(08:01):
extra reps for him to give him that right. That's
a I mean, it tells you the state of things
that he's in a good place. He hasn't done anything
to make them think that it's more of a competition,
or maybe Cordell hasn't done anything to make it feel
like more of a competition that they're even thinking about
that right now. That can change, That can change after
one game. I'm with you on that. That will be
(08:23):
certainly one to watch. As we've known, these guards have
been something to watch this whole time.
Speaker 3 (08:26):
Tony and I have been down there for I think
together now six practices, and you wrote about some takeaways
from the early portion of training camp, and you wrote
about the defense, and we can talk about who fits
what role, and what al Golden's scheme's gonna look like,
and who has to step up and who has a
(08:47):
lot to prove, and what it may look like if
you know, for some reason Trey Hendrickson isn't here once
the real games begin. The thing that I have walked
away from multiple practices thinking about is how calm those
dbs looked, how much they were talking trash, how much
they were getting in the faces of dudes like Jamar Chase,
(09:07):
like t Higgins, how much they were barking at Joe
Burrow like I don't know how much that ultimately is
gonna matter, but it was not insignificant in my eyes.
And I saw lots of different guys engaging in that,
and sign me up for that.
Speaker 4 (09:21):
Well, isn't that what this was supposed to be? It
was okay, go young, bring somebody in who knows how
to make young players play well and build this young momentum,
build this energetic, young fun defenses is kind of the idea.
That's what that's supposed to look like. That was job one.
(09:42):
Get a group out there that feels confident, that's willing
to talk trash to Jamar Chase and Joe Burrow, that
is gonna make plays to back that up, that's gonna
be able to stand in the ring and go toe
to toe with those guys. They'll lose some, they'll win some,
but they'll you'll notice them, you'll hear them. They won't
look like the obvious liability on this team. That's been
(10:03):
the case. And I will add the linebackers. Demetrius Knight,
who who gives gives an extra thump a little harder
than most guys do in this stuff. You see him
in the backfield. You see him making plays. He's getting
a tip on a ball to cause interception. The corners
are making play. All of that the young players for
them to be better, for them to not be weighed
(10:26):
down by what they've been in the past. It has
to have that new, young, energetic we're creating a new
thing feel. And that's been the field that was it's
the it is. The takeaway of ten practices easily is
that the defense has a real energy to it and
is creating a real sense of belief in those players
(10:49):
that they can do it, they can hang with anybody,
because if you can hang with Burrow, Chase and Higgins,
then you can hang with anybody. To the point that
it's made me wonder, right, is Joe Burrow doing this
on purpose? Like is Joe like, Look, we got to
build some confidence in the young defense. I'm gonna throw
them some yeah or whatever. I don't think that's I
don't think it's the case. I'm not saying that, but
(11:10):
it's like to the point that how are they making
I just didn't expect them to consistently be making as
many plays as we've seen them make through a couple
of weeks.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
I've been to a lot of UC practices at Higher
Ground in recent years, and I used to love to
watch when they had a great secondary under Luke Fickle,
Sauce Gardener, Kobe Bryant, Yeah, you know, Brian Cook. I
used to love to watch those guys against UC's wideouts.
And the way I've watched Bengals DB's behave has reminded
(11:39):
me of watching those Bearcat DB's great players guys in
the NFL. Sauce Gardner just got paid right Like I
would watch those guys talk, smack, impose their will, and
if they got beat, they were unfazed. I would watch
Sauce Gardener and Alec Pierce go toe to toe every
day and watch Sauce just scream at him, yell at him.
If somebody in the second he made a play, everybody
(12:01):
rushed toward him. That's a great secondary in college. I
what I this is gonna sound silly. What I have
watched from Bengals DB's. You have been at more practices
than I have. What I've watched from Bengals DB's, especially
when they've been doing red zone drills, has reminded.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Me of that. Yeah, do you remember? You probably do.
Speaker 4 (12:19):
There was a Bengals the Bengals brawl in Miami a
few years ago, and we all made a big deal
about the offensive line sitting on the bench, Yes, on
the bench.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (12:28):
It brought up a conversation at that point in time
about one of the number one ways to view culture
is the energy on the sideline when anyone makes a
play or something happens on the field. What does it
look like our guys on the end line are they
running out? And in practices times two is the sense
(12:48):
of belief, in the sense of like culture and something
being created can be felt on the sidelines. That's as
loud and as energetic of a sideline as we've seen
around And I know that that it can be that
way in practice sometimes, but it has been more. It
has been extra this year. You can feel that, and
(13:09):
I think that comes from confidence. And I remember talking
to Jordan Battle after he made that play on Jamar
Chase that I think circulated a lot in the red
zone drill by the back pylon, and he gets in
Jamar Chase's face and he was like, you know, yeah,
it's a sign of how confident I am that I'm
gonna get in Jamar Chase's face when I make a play.
And that's everybody, like, we all feel so confident what
(13:31):
we're doing and how we're doing it and the level
that we're able to play at that we were able
to do that, and I think that's just a sign.
All of that talk is just a sign of them
feeling like they're in a really good place.
Speaker 3 (13:44):
Speaking of confidence, that was a central theme and what
you wrote about Miles Murphy. Yeah, for the Athletic dot
Com and I want to spend a few minutes on that.
We have to talk about Shamar Stewart's impact in camp,
Trey Hendrickson being listed on the third team on the
depth chart, and Noah fans.
Speaker 2 (13:59):

(15:11):
About Miles, Murphy, yeah who is kind of you, know
all the way over here you Had Trey hendrickson all
off season, long all the way over here you Have
Shamar stewart all off season, long and then right in
the middle is a guy, who needless to, say has
a lot to. Prove did you write this column or
write this, piece this feature On Miles murphy because you
(15:31):
finally wanted to incorporate the phraseology of got that dog
in him and referring to a.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
Player, Yeah i'm actually disappointed my editor didn't put the picture.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
Of the ribs with the dogs in.
Speaker 4 (15:42):
Him, well it's, funny it's, silly, RIGHT i understand that it's.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
Silly but here is the.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
Thing when you got through the Entire Miles murphy, conversation
AND i talked to a lot of people about him
about with this whole what happened, here what's happening?
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Here iteveritly boils down.
Speaker 4 (16:01):
To, That, yeah, like does he have the mentality to do?
This does he have that kind of craziness in, him
that that nastyness whatever you want to call, it that
dog WHICH i feel like the modern version of, that
to do?
Speaker 5 (16:16):
This?
Speaker 4 (16:16):
Yeah and no one's debating that he can't physically do.
It no one's debating that he can't figure out how
to do a couple of. Moves like they're simpling that
they have a. Plan right, there there were quieting Miles
murphy Down he talked, about you, know not sitting there
thinking which of these eight moves AM i gonna? Do
i'm gonna do one of two or, three And i'm
gonna master those and just let my athleticism be. Enough
(16:40):
all Of, like all of that's. FINE i think you
can you can buy all of. That the only one
that's unanswered is does he have the real drive to do?
Speaker 2 (16:49):
This does he really want?
Speaker 4 (16:50):
It and can he bring that kind of violence and
physicality and desperation to every rush that you kind of.
Need he hasn't to this, point and he's acknowledged, that and,
that to me is the question, Right that's WHERE i
Kept that's WHERE i, landed AND i was, LIKE i
Guess i'm gonna use the dog MET i was, like
(17:12):
BECAUSE i feel like that is kind of what this
delp does boil down to with. Him it's not a
matter of any of the other. Stuff you can figure
that st of it. Out but as he said at the,
end no coach can bring it out of. Me it's
up to the. Player it's up To, myles and he's
got to do it by making, plays building confidence that
he can do, it and finding finding that next level
(17:35):
to go to go pull it.
Speaker 3 (17:36):
Off he says all the right things in your, piece
which is very very. GOOD i can't help, though but ask,
like prior to the draft in twenty twenty, three when
they took, him did they not know that he might
not have quote that dog in? Him, WELL i think
we're still asking that. Question it's been with a team
(17:57):
for two.
Speaker 4 (17:57):
YEARS i think there's a reason guy with his physical
traits was available at twenty, Eight, RIGHT i mean it
was because, okay he didn't he didn't see it all the. Time,
Right You're Jerry, montgomery WHICH i think is a really
quite a very underdiscussed portion of this talk about you,
(18:22):
know seeing him take plays, off seeing him quit on,
rushes and a recognition that this is the, problem and
tell him this is it And i'm not going to allow.
THIS i am going to stay on you about this.
Stuff AND i don't, KNOW i don't know what was
going on With luenarumo And Marion hobby and people that
(18:42):
were working With miles, before but there's certainly an idea that.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
This was being allowed.
Speaker 4 (18:50):
Before maybe he just needs somebody to give this, push
and he seems to be very responsive and excited about
what's what's happening in terms of the way he's being,
coached some of the difference he feels like it's making
for him and and that it's it's. Showing BUT i
think there's also understanding that sometimes you're hoping that it
(19:11):
will just come.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Out of a guy because they have the.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
Trades it's Either, OKAY i got a guy doesn't have the,
traits but he's got the, mentality Or i've got the
guy that. Has maybe we got to try to build
some of the. Mentality maybe it'll. Mature he was, young
he's a twenty one year old. Kid maybe it'll come
out of these are the chances that you. Take but
it could be the reason why if it doesn't come
out Of miles this, year it's certainly gonna be the
reason why we're not talking about him.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
Anymore in that same position, GROUP i am encouraged by
the fact That Shamar stewart went from somebody who for
months we didn't really discuss football specific stuff to a
guy who want to talk about the football specific stuff
you guys are seeing in training. Camp is making us
kind of forget the months of offseason. Drama we've already forgotten. It, yeah,
(19:53):
it's oh my, goodness look at this. Guy good due, Though,
yeah good for. That due is WHY i didn't have
to be this.
Speaker 4 (19:58):
Way it never should have even already this, way, right
because this should have been what we should have been
talking about the entire. TIME i was still am very
surprised how quickly he has shown, up, right and how
not just that repeatedly YOU i, mean you're seeing it
every day every day, There. Chamar every day you see
(20:21):
him make a play and you, KNOW i can't remember
if we talked about it last week or, whatever but
you know there's a play last week where where he
just sort of teleports Around Orlando brown on the back
end when we were inside and it's it's.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
This is, it, like this is?
Speaker 4 (20:39):
It this is the reason you do, this and it
shows you when we would talk about you, know there's
there's a pretty high floor on guys with that kind of,
athleticism like there's just so much. Right and now the
tone Of Al golden the other, day the tone Of
Zach taylor talking About Shamar stewart has been. Glowing of
(21:02):
the versatility is where they start of, like, man you
can put him inside and he's doing this.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
Stuff he's strong in, there.
Speaker 4 (21:09):
He's, violent he's, disruptive and then you're seeing he's doing.
It he's running around the. Outside And Jerry montgomery talked
about in the first couple of, Days schamar was just
trying to go down the middle of.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
Everybody and then they.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
Start really sort of fine tuning, him working on the,
edges and all of a, sudden you see that rare
athleticism right, pop and you see he's he's given the
old with a lot of primal screams that are happening
on the practice, seal.
Speaker 2 (21:37):
But he he's given some of.
Speaker 4 (21:39):
Those you're seeing some of that energy and excitement from,
him BECAUSE i think there was a thought when you
went through the the contract stuff and, whatever is like
how much does he want to be here?
Speaker 2 (21:48):
Right how much he? CAN i don't. Know it looks
you see him out there caring about, practice ask those, Questions,
yes how could you?
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Not BUT i mean that's why you, know we'll see
if we'll see if he does anything on the field
against the another team On. Thursday time will tell if
he turns out to be the right pick at seventeen.
Overall BUT i give him credit for with a lot
of attention being paid to him showing up, late not
signing the, way for becoming a talking point for reasons
that have very little to do with. Football he instantly
(22:16):
changed the. Conversation he looked, Ready he Looked we were
all wondering when he shows, up is he going to be?
Speaker 2 (22:22):
Ready he looks. Prepared good for.
Speaker 3 (22:24):
Him Many i'll we kind of beat up on that
dude a little bit for the way he handled the
standoff with The. BENGALS i think he had that come.
In if you're going to be, fair you got to
credit somebody when they changed the.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Conversation and he has, YEAH i, mean he hasn't had
to do in his, life a lot of molding of
a public image or. Business you know. What he has
done a lot of. Football, yeah and he looks like
a guy's done a lot of. Football. Yeah he looks
comfortable out there doing. That and so, yeah that has
been really impressive how quickly he showed up and how
(22:57):
consistently he showed.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Up all, right we have to discuss us the Newest

Florence he always plays somebody. TONIGHT i forgot to write
down the. Opponent and the qualifying rounds are underway on
both the men's and women's side of The Cincinnati open In.
Mason you always go out to the tennis. Tournament love that. Event,
yeah that's. Great love that. Event bigger and.
Speaker 2 (25:16):
Better, yeah the.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Renovated, YEAH i can't wait to see. It love, love
love that. Event one more. Thing on defensive, Ends Trey
hendrickson listed on the depth chart as a third. Teamer
did they do this With Jamar chase last?
Speaker 2 (25:31):
Year?
Speaker 4 (25:32):
No, okay but yeah that's because he's just only gonna
play a rotation.
Speaker 2 (25:35):
ROLE i, GUESS i.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Guess, So, yeah they're just trying to make the. Team,
yeah maybe see if he can force his way into
the squad on special teams. Somehow, yeah thirty plus million
dollar field goal block.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
ARTIST i don't know kind.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
Of a middle finger to try, It let's be. Honest,
yeah well they didn't do it With Jamar chase last.
Speaker 2 (25:50):
YEAR i don't. Know maybe they. DID i have to go.
Speaker 4 (25:55):
BACK i don't even. KNOW i honestly don't even know
if the coaches even see that depth. Chart, okay that
is just it is just thrown. Together something has to
be on, Here SO i DON'T i don't think it
was meant to be.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
That, somebody, though somebody decided to take a Defensive player
of The year finalist and put him on the third
team on the depth.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
Chart that's part of the. Race that's just.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Said not practicing, fine, okay but somebody made the decision to.
Speaker 4 (26:21):
Do who is to say if he would be starting
if he was practicing right?
Speaker 2 (26:25):
Now no one can say that for Certain.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
Miles Miles murphy now with that dog in, him might have.
Supplanted we don't know if the. Dog we don't know
what dog it. Is, no a fan might have some
dog in a. Mind, NO i didn't know he's A.
BENGAL i like, this love.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
It, YEAH i Mean i've thought that it was another
quiet position that you didn't hear much about them looking to.
Upgrade but they, Were, yeah and it's just kind of
fell into their laps a little.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
BIT i, mean you said last week to, me is
the ship? Sailed and oh, no weird.
Speaker 4 (26:59):
Life, yeah because, no because they they look from the very,
beginning they thought this was a sort of like manna from,
heaven if you. Will it just kind of fell out
because they didn't check the tight end box like they
wanted to this offseason, totally and yet, boom all of a,
sudden this guy who's a great fit for what they
want was still. There so they went after. Him they
went after him pretty. AGGRESSIVELY i, mean maybe, noah which
(27:21):
is that he was making more than two point eight or,
whatever but that's a decent chunk for The bengals sitting
there right now to go out and make that. Happen
plus incentives and, yeah he's you're gonna see a bunch of.
Them they're gonna carve out a role for, him and
they're gonna need that depth over the course of the.
Year and so, yeah it's it's the type of move
that you've wanted them to do more of in recent
(27:44):
years at this time of. Year, yeah they haven't added
that depth. Piece they haven't added somebody who's out, there
who's enticing they haven't gone after that, player and because
you're gonna need that and then You and it's a
lot of times it's been in positions that you've regretted
not doing, it whether it was defensive tax in recent
years or.
Speaker 2 (28:01):
Whatever so maybe this is a little bit of a.
Change there haven't been.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
THAT i, mean, look they've they've grabbed players from other
teams who have been cut close to the, opener but
not real, guys but not like real, Guys like that's a,
Guy Noah. Fan if The seahawks had cut, him you,
know On march, first and he's a free, agent you
are like circling that, name understanding what has happened at
that position with the two dudes they, Drafted like that's
that is say what you want about guard and the,
(28:26):
Secondary like that is a name that we all would
have said that dude right.
Speaker 2 (28:29):
There, yeah and it's.
Speaker 4 (28:30):
Circumstantial you, know If John schnyder has been interviewed a
couple of times In seattle since and you just talking
about this was strictly a cap casually. Thing they drafted
a couple of rookies and they they were waiting till
the last possible moment that they could see that these
rookies were definitely ready to take over the. Position and
then Before Noah fan had to go out there and
practice and maybe get hurt and get the money that
(28:51):
he's supposed to. Get so that's why the timing of
this was was what it. Was and it's basically just
we weren't gonna do nine million. Here we need to
clear that for other. Stuff so it's not because necessarily
because of him as a, player.
Speaker 3 (29:05):
Totally, yeah it's a lot of. Money is it is
a lot of. Money it's a good pick. Up and,
UH i watched him after practice run routes today.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
And that was. Fun he's an. Athlete there's a reason
he's first round, pick no. Question all.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Right The Growler podcast The athletic Dot. Com we cut
your hour short because we Have Tony pike From he's.

Still sitting down. THERE i saw him AND i was leaving.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
Earlier he's just sitting there that he had the feet
up on the, table just relax and they were aer
rating the.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
Field he was giving me a blow by blow of.
Speaker 2 (29:32):
That they may continue here in a few. MINUTES i
can't wait to find out what happens. Next, yeah maybe
another cut still be out.
Speaker 4 (29:39):
THERE i have no. Idea could Be, golden MIGHT i
mean first one, in last one.
Speaker 3 (29:43):

anybody's hand because he's getting off a cold fist.
