Hey, this is an awesome event and it benefits the
Free Store Food Bank and the folks at the Free
Store Food Bank they do the Lord's work in terms
of reducing hunger, fighting hunger and making food more accessible
to people that don't have access to it. And this
is beyond that, a really fun event. It really sort
(00:20):
of triggers the football season. Kicks off the football season.
If you will Taste of the Bengals, which is going
to be this Wednesday at pay Course Stadium and it's
put on by the Free Store Food Bank. If you

(00:40):
an awesome event, and I think if you're a Bengals
fan and you have Wednesday free, it's a must attend event.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Hey mo, this is the party with a purpose. It
really is. When you think about it, you know, all
of the things connect. This is the perfect storm of parties.
You know, we've got the Bengals, We've got the you know,
fifty of the area's best restaurants, we have some adult beverages,
and we have some wonderful opportunities to support Free Store
Food Bank with some live auctions as well as some
(01:10):
silent auction items. And it's a pay course stadium this Wednesday.
As you said, folks can go to Tasteothebengals dot org
and can get their general admission tickets. The two hundred
bucks and those two hundred dollars will provide the equivalent
of six hundred meals to kids right here in our
tri state area.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Yeah, the work that you guys do, it really is
the Lord's work, the event itself. Let's start with the food.
What I love about it is it's such an eclectic mix, right.
You have more casual establishments, you have some maybe higher
end establishments, all in the same place we do.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
I mean, we've got you know, Street Pops there, We've
got Haltman's Donuts there, but we've got you know, Jeff
Ruby Restaurants there, We've got the Senate, We've got you know,
our own Cincinnati Cooks team brings out some of their
best or derves as well. It's dinner by the bite
and you're not gonna go away hungry. I'll tell you
(02:05):
that it's going to be awesome, And it's just a
great way for folks to, as you said, kick off
the Bengals season and get ready for that Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
That's right now, you're speaking my language. What I love
about this event Among the many things I love about
this event, and we'll talk about Mike Kisiki here specifically,
but you get the players and coaches to show up,
and they're always very willing to, you know, spend time
with whoever you know wants a picture anything like that.
Speaker 3 (02:30):
That's always a very cool part of this.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
It really is. I mean, we started this Taste of
the Bengals event in two thousand and three. This is
our twenty third annual and I just can't thank the
players enough. I can't thank the Bengals organization enough. I
can't thank the fans. I mean, you know, we've got
folks that love the Free Store to come to the event.
We have folks that love the Bengals to come to
the event. We've got foodies that love food. I mean,
(02:56):
you can't go wrong. And it's just a wonderful opportunity
for folks, as you said, to give back to the
Free Start Food Bank because we have two hundred and
seventy five thousand of our neighbors that are food insecure
and eight ten kids that are eligible for free to
reduce lunches at school. Those are the folks. Those are
the students that are helped by the Freestort Food Bank
and our six hundred plus pantries across the twenty county
(03:18):
service area.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
You've had a number of Bengals players who have served
as your ambassador or your spokesperson. This year, it's Mike KASICKI.
Let's talk a little bit about about that.
Speaker 2 (03:30):
Hey, Mike, Mike, Mike is you know, just a real
stand up guy. I mean, we had him over here
at our Community Resource and Distribution Center recently with Conway
with a podcast and it was it was great. But
you know, you know Mike, you know, Mike understands the
need out there. You know he has seen over the years, uh,
(03:51):
the impact that this event has had, and he told me,
he goes, he goes. I'm really honored to be part
of this US auspicious group that have gone through and
been our player host. I mean, we had Ted Carris,
We've had you know, Sam Hubbard, we had Double Top
Packo back in the day, we had you know, Big
(04:12):
Wed Yeah, back in the day. So I mean, these
are folks that have always also been considered for the
Walter Payton Award, and that's really you know, I take
great pride in the fact that these Bengals players want
to give back, They want to make a difference. They
want to help support the folks that are cheering them on,
(04:36):
but also maybe struggling a little bit, just trying to
make ends.
Speaker 3 (04:39):
Meet Kurt Riverers with a CEO Freestore Food Bank.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Taste of the Bengals twenty twenty five is happening this
Wednesday night. It's also worth mentioning there's food, there's Bengals players,
there's adult beverages.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
You also have a lot of really cool auction items
we do.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
I mean, we've got you know, we've been collecting them
all along. In fact, we're just putting together a a
bourbon raffle for those folks that love bourbon. We've got
some great uh uh. You know, somebody told me one
of those bottles was an eight hundred bottle, eight hundred
dollars bottle. Why of bourbon. I don't know what you
do with an eight hundred dollars bottle. I don't think
you can. I don't think you can drink it. I mean,
(05:16):
I think you just had to observe it. But I
mean there's some sports millimobilia. I saw a Bengals golf bag.
So if you're you know, if you're coming to the
end of the season here in the golf season and
you're looking to replace that golf bag of yours, you know,
we've got a Bengals golf bag that will be there.
You know, there's a whole host of things. And then
(05:37):
there's some live auction items as well where we have
events and and you know, things that with the Bengals players.
You know, we did a fouling event with the special
teams last year which was just you know, really went well,
and you know, I was, you know, I think the
players are out there, they're really engaged, they really want
(06:00):
to help out give back. But it's a great you know,
I said, it's a party with a purpose, and the
purpose is this, we want to create a hunger free,
healthy and thriving community that no tristate neighbor has to
worrybout where the next meal is coming from.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
Taste of thee Beengals dot org. It's Wednesday night. By
the way, you could check out some of those auction
items on that website. Everything benefits the Free Store Food Bank,
Angels in our community, there's no question about that. Kurt,

appreciate the time as always.
