Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, Tony, it's our final season preview report. The
season begins a week from Sunday when the Bengals take
on the Browns. I have the Bengals finishing ten and seven.
I don't think ten and seven is enough to win
the AFC North, though it was in twenty twenty one.
I think it's enough to get him to the postseason,
where they will be a tough out because of Joe Burrow.
Ten and seven, What do you think?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
I'm eleven and six. I don't know why, because it
feels like we get burn with this a lot. I
think it's an eleven win team because I think they
find a way to start fast. I know there are
questions about going to Cleveland and what Cleveland puts you
in a very hard situation for, and where the Bengals
deficiencies are, Minnesota's going to be without Jordan Addison, not

(00:41):
having all their weapons. I still want to see bow
Knicks in year two. So I base the eleven wins
off starting fast, But more than the eleven wins. What
I hope for this season, Mo is when we get
to that halfway point that you and I are having
conversations about putting themselves in position for playoff seeding. The
slow starts have caused so many high stress situations for

(01:03):
this team where it feels like from Game four on,
every game is a must win, every game is stressful,
and then you're just scratching and calling to be in
the conversation to the playoffs. Wouldn't it be nice, as
we've talked about with any Cincinnati sports team right now,
to get to the second half of the year and
lay out a map of the number one seed or
lay out a map of how you can win the
AFC North. You can't do that if you don't start fast,

(01:24):
because you're then chasing the rest of the year. But
I would like that year to be a little stress
free on the back end of not having to play
for your playoff lives every single week.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Bengals open up the season on Sunday against the Browns
in Cleveland. The Battle of Ohio kicks off at one o'clock.
You could hear it live on ESPN fifteen thirty and
one two point seven WEBN with Tony Pike, Mullweger
