Speaker 1 (00:00):
Thirty.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Here we go. It's the Mullwegger Show here on Cincinnati
ESPN fifteen thirty. Teren, I'm gonna need you to come
in here when this is over, this segment is over.

(00:36):
I don't know what Tony has done, but Tony likes
to sit with the chair all the way down and
I can't get this microphone to stay up. Instead, it
wants to go all the way down to the desk.
Oh wow, how about the arm of the microphone? The arm? Yeah,

(00:57):
can you hear me?

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Now?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
This is what it sounds like if I just let
the microphone go. So for this first segment from this,
for this first segment, I'm literally gonna have to sit
here and just hold the microphone to my mouth because Tony,
for whatever reason, at six foot six, likes to sit
on the floor and talk with his chin on the desk.

(01:22):
I'm having as much success in this studio right now
as the Bengals in the Reds head Let's die. But
I hope you weren't one of those, uh you know,
Tarn and I coined a new phrase yesterday the Three
way parlay where the Reds and the Bengals and FC

(01:43):
Cincinnati were all playing at the same time, or at
least on the same day, and you know, people hoping
they could get a little sprinkle sprinkled, drip drip. Well,
it turns out the winning strategy was betting against all
three because it was It was not a good Thursday
night in the Queen City. It felt. Boy, we got

(02:08):
off to a hot start. The vibes were good early.
Red's get a couple runners on on Paul Skeens, two
on one out in the first inning. Uh oh, here
we go, here we go. Maybe get the Skeens early,

(02:29):
maybe maybe maybe scratch a couple of cross and put
some heat on A generational talent on the mound. Austin
Hayes hits into a double play. Uh oh. Bengals come out.
Joe Burrow, first team offense. Straight down the field, Burrow
and T Higgins on a ball. I thought I thought

(02:53):
Higgins could have caught it. Joe didn't make a great throw.
It would have been a difficult catch, but but T
got a hand on it. He'd probably tell you, I
need to catch that ball. Burrow then completes his next
nine passes. Chase Brown looked outstanding in the first two
drives for the Cincinnati offense, and the Bengals did exactly

(03:15):
what you expect and offense with with that much talent
to do against second and third teamers from the Philadelphia Eagles,
but unfortunately the defense it looked a lot like last year.

(03:35):
And then you flip back to the Reds game and
Brady Singer gets the first two outs. Okay, okay, Brady
Singer's up to the task. He's gonna go toe to
toe with Paul Skeins in this one. Nope, gets down
three to zero, gives up a home run, walks a

(03:55):
couple guys. Next thing you know, the Pirates have played three.
I don't know if you know this or not, but
at the conclusion of last night's game, the Reds have
not scored a run on Paul Skeins in twenty one innings.

(04:18):
Twenty two point one innings, he has four to zero
against the Reds. He's thrown twenty three innings. The only
run he gave up was in the first inning of
the first game he played against the Reds. Since then,
he's gone twenty two and a third scoreless against this

(04:41):
vaunted Reds lineup that had plenty of chances yesterday get
a couple on in the first, couple on in the second,
couple on in the fifth run around second, with one
out in the fourth, Reds don't score a run. Paul

(05:02):
Skeins had eight eight strikeouts. Four of those strikeouts came
with runners in scoring position. Ellie strikes out with two
on two outs in the second run around second, one
out in the fourth, Steer and Marte strikeout, and then

(05:23):
again in the fifth runner on second to out. Matt
McLain strikes out, and the Red squander a bunch of chances.
I know I'm going back and forth here, but trying
to set the stage that it felt like the vibes
felt pretty good early and then things fell apart in

(05:45):
both instances as by the time Joe Burrow and company
came off the field, boy that the Jake Browning not great.
Desmond at a couple of nice plays and had a
really nice touchdown pass to Tanner Hudson, who I could

(06:06):
be the MVP of the game yesterday for the Bengals
with his two touchdowns, one from Burrow early and then
one from rid Ter late, who Tanner Hudson said, Hey,
I know we just went out and got no a fan.
I'm fighting for my life. I need to stay I
need to stay here. I like it here. I like

(06:28):
catching passes from Joe Burrow. So a good a good
battle by Hudson to to make his claim to be
the third tight end here in Cincinnati. But man, outside
of Burrow and the offense, and you know, I thought,

(06:48):
I thought they got a really good look at fair
Child at one guard, and I thought it was a
great you know, a great feeling after that. Patrick. On
the other side, Wolf, I think tarn could have got
some pass rush on him, for sure. I think you

(07:09):
could have Like I think you could have hit him
with the swim move t like you you'd have been
at Joe Burrow missed a whift on a block, had
a had a penalty? If if that's the answer, Reguard
and and and this is this is the thing that
drives Cincinnati sports fans crazy. The general consensus on the

(07:33):
Reds coming into the season didn't do enough to help
the offense, didn't go get that that bat with some
pop for the middle of the order that you know,
could connect the front and back ends of the lineup.
And then they go through the trade deadline, they don't

(07:56):
They don't really address it then either the Bengals comeing
off of last season, everybody knew they needed help at guard.
They got a guy in the third round of the
draft that hopefully, hopefully looks like he could work out.
Still not good enough at guard, Still not good enough
at guard. And the defense, it was painfully obvious Bill

(08:21):
Parcells wasn't gonna come in and change this defense. There's
not enough talent on that defense for the answer to be.
We went out and got a coordinator and a rookie
linebacker because the defense was again embarrassing, and I know

(08:45):
I'm gonna get today. I'm gonna get. Don't overreact. I'm
not overreacting. I'm reacting. It's my job to react. It's
part of what they pay me to do. Here. Watch
the game, react to what you saw. What I saw
was a defense that looked, unfortunately, a heck of a
lot like the defense that we saw on the field

(09:08):
last year. Massive holes in the run game and receivers
and tight ends catching the ball with no one in
the vicinity. Guys running the opposing team, the opposing second

(09:29):
team running to wide open spaces catching the football, and
nobody being in position to make a play. That's what
I thought the plan was when they brought in Al Golden.
Simplify the defense, think less, play faster, and even if

(09:56):
a team makes a play, you're flying to the ball
and you're not going to allow these massive mistakes to happen,
these massive chunk plays to take place, because guys are
catching the ball with no resistance and the ability to
turn up field and go. Our guys are running through

(10:18):
gaping holes at the line of scrimmage because your two
defensive tackles ran into each other and next thing you know,
he's running free. In the secondary. It looked a lot
like last year. Sure, the Bengals didn't have all their starters,
but you know what, there were starters on the field,

(10:40):
multiple starters on the field, and the Eagles second string
offense made it look like the Bengals third string defense.
You can call it an overreaction all you want, and
you can say they're still learning the scheme and they've

(11:00):
got a couple guys they need to get back, and
whatever the case may be. What I saw was a
defense that looked painfully similar to the one we watched
a year ago. I will give you it is preseason
game number one. There is room to improve, but I

(11:23):
would be panicking less, I would be reacting less if
it didn't look like the exact same stuff that we
saw a year ago. Maybe the how we got here
is different, but the end result is running backs running
through wide open spaces and receivers catching the ball with

(11:47):
no resistance that looked exactly the same. So I'll you
can and should feel good that the Bengals have Joe
Burrow and Jamar Chase t Higgins, the guy that impressed
me the most. Maybe last night Chase Brown should feel

(12:09):
good about that, but boy, they've got until next Monday
to figure some things out and make me feel better
about that defense being able to get to the middle
of the pack, because last night it looked like again

(12:32):
one of the worst defenses in the NFL. And the
reason that it's a stable reaction, an appropriate reaction is
the past two years they've been one of the worst
defenses in the NFL with many of these same players.
You know who was the biggest winner last night, Tearn

(12:55):
Trey Hendrickson, because, oh boy.

Speaker 4 (13:03):
Like.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
He he improved his bargaining position quite a bit as
he sat and watched that game. There was no push
to the quarterback. Miles Murphy looks unusable almost he can't
he can't shed a block to save his tarn. Who
do you I want it? I want like a focus.

(13:26):
I just want to see him practice every day. Patrick
and Murphy go at it one on one like is
it possible? Nobody wins. So there are some good things,
a couple of nice returns. Otherwise, I thought special teams

(13:46):
was pretty poor. I did not see much from the defense.
The backup quarterback battle. Neither of them looked great. Dez
did get a touchdown pass, like I said, had the
long completion to Jamoy. He made some mistakes too, so
I don't think either of those guys. I don't think
either one really separated himself from the other. But second

(14:12):
verse same as the first. It sure looks like after
preseason game number one, this is gonna be a Joe
Burrow offense that's got to put up forty and even
then forty might not be enough. When we come back,
we'll hear from Zach, we'll hear from Joe, and we
will get this show rolling. Samowagga Radio Show brought to

(14:33):
you by Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen.

Speaker 5 (14:35):
Thirty Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty traffic.

Speaker 6 (14:40):

Americans waiting on an Oregon transplanter for multicultural communities, give
the gift of life, become an organ donor, or explore
a living donation. You seehealth dot com slash transplant. What
traffic is picking up a bed as making away southbound
seventy five from Red around as Charles down to Brent
Spence Bridge. We're seeing the heavier pockets of traffic here.

(15:04):
Also on two seventy five, we're looking at heavier pockets
at the Carrol Cropper Bridge with the ongoing bridge work.
Watch for delays westbound and southbound at the Indiana Kentucky

Speaker 8 (15:31):
The only thing the madness.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
Is that writ there we go?

Speaker 9 (15:44):
Does that work for you?

Speaker 2 (15:46):
I feel better? Does it sound better? I mean you
can attest he had that thing on the ground. It's
better now though. I feel good. Ready to ready to
have a great show, Tarren. That's what I'm ready to

(16:10):
as great as show as you can have. Essentially, after
the Bengals get dominated in their first preseason game and
the Reds look like a minor league team against the
Pittsburgh Pirates. I will say this tarn about the Reds.
We'll get to the Reds maybe later in the show.
Probably later in the show, I don't know. We'll see.

(16:30):
We got Tony to talk to and talk to Richard
Skinner in hour number two. A lot of Bengals today.
I'm gonna do a little Bearcats as well. The Reds
inability to win in Pittsburgh against maybe the worst organization
in baseball over the past four years is embarrassing. It's embarrassing.

(16:55):
You're like twenty something games under five hundred in Pittsburgh
over the four seasons, and there have been opportunities for
those teams to do something with themselves. How much different
does that look if they don't stink every year in
Pittsburgh against terrible Pirates teams? And sure, yesterday the excuses

(17:19):
is easy face Paul Skiings. Okay, you lose two to
one to Pittsburgh with Paul Skins on the mound, that's
the result of going against a great pitcher. You seven
to nothing, you get your butt kicked like the Reds
did yesterday. That excuse flies out the window. Let's get
back to the Bengals. Let's do Zach Taylor now and

(17:45):
uh an unhappy Zach Taylor following yesterday's performance.

Speaker 10 (17:56):
Go Zach, what you think all Joe Burrow and.

Speaker 11 (17:59):
Mark that was good to see. I thought that was
a strong start from them. You know, first drive overcame
a penalty, put us in a first and goal from
from twenty yard line. Inch to overcome up with a
touchdown and to come back in the second drive of
the touchdown or zero, I thought was great to see
how you build out well. Obviously defense, we're trying not

(18:20):
to show a lot of what's going on, so we're
trying to keep it as little as possible and let
guys win some one on ones and and today there's
a lot of fifty to fifty plays that I thought
Philly made, especially early in the game, that gave them
some extended drives there. But overall, just as a team,
this was a team effort. In the loss thirty four
to twenties at whatever it was, seven point game, Okay,

(18:40):
we gave up seven points on field goals. We lined
up off side on a field goal, they missed it.
They got three points. We hit the center on a
field goal that turned into a touchdown, so that ended
up being a four point drive.

Speaker 7 (18:51):
So that's seven points right there.

Speaker 11 (18:52):
Penalty on a long kickoff return that we had gave
up long punt return through an interception, gave them the
ball in scoring position, and so those were all things
that as a team we can't tolerate.

Speaker 2 (19:02):
We can't have.

Speaker 11 (19:03):
We got to play better team football than that. And
I expect your guys. I like to fight. These guys
come back. They give us a chance at the end
that I appreciate. But there's a lot of things that
we got to fix and correct as a team. That's
not one unit, that's not one person, that's not one position,
it's a whole team effort that we got to fix
in order to win our next game.

Speaker 2 (19:21):
To give us answer you.

Speaker 11 (19:25):
Out here today, it's real tough for me to give
an answer on that one. You know, it's a I
can't really single anybody out that way to touch.

Speaker 7 (19:36):
It's like the one Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 11 (19:41):
The same route, same play, same just out of the
side of the field. That was about the only difference,
maybe even the same yard line. But yeah, very very
uh it's a little bit different coverage, but but yeah,
same situation. How that pointed out, he's great at finishing
those plays. I mean he he's understands the coverages and

(20:04):
where to be and in the body position. You know,
he can catch those back shoulder throws and not just
on verticals down the field, but on the horizontal stuff
as well. And so he made some nice place for
us there at the end.

Speaker 9 (20:14):
Zachmportant. Is it for Joe to feel that threshold the
touchdowns some more? I know they didn't end up in
the sack three round coming out of well.

Speaker 11 (20:23):
I think, first of all, just the threat of being
hit is a big reason why we want those guys
out there, want Joe out there, because he knows he's
not going to get hit in practice. So I think
just for it to feel real in a game, whether
he's getting hit or not, I think just him having
the knowledge that it's possible. You know, someone can lose
a one on one I you hit on the backside,
a free runner can come in. That's that's a whole
different You can't simulate that rep in practice. So I

(20:46):
think it's good. That's a big part of why we're
doing this, and so I think it's it'll be beneficial
for us in the long run.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
There you go, that's a little bit of Zach Taylor.
Uh you know what, Ary, Let's let's save Joe for
a little later. Let's take a break. We'll come back.
Phone lines are open. Let's get your reaction to last
night's three way massacre. It was not a three way parlay.
It's a three way massacre here in Cincinnati. Uh more

(21:12):
after this the Mowagger Show hosted by not Moegar here
on Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 5 (21:18):

Speaker 7 (21:50):
This report is sponsored.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
You know, I think we'ld do a better job in
the preseason than Jake Browning Tony.

Speaker 9 (22:09):
In a real way.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Maybe DJ Quick too, I don't know.

Speaker 13 (22:12):
Definitely DJ Quick and a day.

Speaker 4 (22:17):
Now what you is not a drag because DJ QUI
got a brand new bag, but first I got a bag.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
Let's go out to the phones, Mark and Florence is
on the line. Mark, you think DJ Quick could play
quarterback better than Jake Browning does in the preseason.

Speaker 8 (22:33):
I'm not sure what's going.

Speaker 2 (22:37):
On, man.

Speaker 8 (22:38):
You know, I wasn't worried about anything last night. The
defense sucked last year and they just picked up where
they left off it, So what's there to be.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
Worried about that that they missed the playoffs last year?
It was it was watching the game from last year
all over again. It was just rolling up a tape
from last year in October November and it playing out
the exact same way.

Speaker 8 (23:08):
Well, well, I'm looking at things like this, and this
goes for both teams, as the baseball team too.

Speaker 4 (23:15):
If the organization.

Speaker 8 (23:18):
Saw what I saw last year as well as you
and everybody else, and they didn't feel the need to
try to fix what they saw, then do they care
about winning a Super Bowl as much as we want
to see it happen, And to me, they don't care
that much about trying to do it.

Speaker 3 (23:37):
So why did argue here?

Speaker 2 (23:39):
It's hard to argue, And you can say the same
thing for the baseball team. They knew they needed a
power hitter, but by their own admission, power hitters are
expensive and they don't want to spend a lot of money,
so they're going to try to do it a different way.
They knew they needed to fix the defense last year,
they didn't go out and get players to fix the
defense instead instead, in fact, your best player is in

(24:02):
street clothes, not doing anything, and your defense looks terrible. Again.
If you don't spend money to fix the problem, you
will always have a problem.

Speaker 4 (24:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (24:13):
Well, my counter to the baseball team is power hitters
costs a lot of money. Where you have one on
the team, friendly deal Sarez, and he traded. Sure he
got rid of his salary.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
But that was four years ago, though, Mark, like they
haven't they haven't come up with an answer in four years.

Speaker 8 (24:32):
Oh okay, But like I said, you had a power hitter.
Sure he was somebody. You was somebody you could have
built around, and you had him on a cheap deal.

Speaker 2 (24:41):
So no, I agree. But my point being, Suarez has
been gone for a long time. They have had ample
opportunities to go out and find somebody else to be
a power hitter here. They haven't had a guy at
twenty five home runs on this team since twenty one,
which is laughable because they play in a band box.

Speaker 8 (25:04):
Yeah yeah, I just don't think they care about bringing
in the power hit or they they went out and
brought in Jamber for the same amount of money. Yeah,
so I don't think they care about a power here.

Speaker 2 (25:14):
They could, they could have kept Serez and instead they
gave all that money to Mustakus.

Speaker 8 (25:20):
Yeah, yeah, okay, exactly. So that's another conversation for another day.
As far as the Bengals, if you pay here's my
thing with the Bengals defense. If you paid Jesse Bates
what you should have paid him, whatever the number was,
If you if you pay him and keep him around,

(25:42):
I think on the back end of that defense, he
covers up for the deficiencies with the cornerbacks and in
the other sat we having a different conversation about that defense.
If you if you just paid that.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
One guye, Yeah, you had the best safety in the
NFL or a top three safety in the NFL. And
you know, over pennies in the NFL, like three four
million dollars. He wanted twenty, they wanted to give him sixteen,
and they let him walk. And safety has been an
absolute disaster since Jesse Bates walked out that door.

Speaker 8 (26:20):
Yeah, so you have nobody on that defense that can
cover up for somebody.

Speaker 2 (26:27):
And now you've got a bad secondary and nobody to
get after the quarterback to reduce the amount of time
that the quarterback can just stand in the pocket and
pick about apart your bad secondary. Yeah.

Speaker 8 (26:41):
I just think unfortunately, they don't care. Now what we
saw last year, we probably we will probably see it
again this year unless unless the coach he calls the plays,
unless like in the third and fourth quarter, if he
has the lead, if he focuses more on running the

(27:03):
ball to try to shorten the game to keep that
defense off the field. Yeah, but if he makes that adjustment,
that's the only way I see that they can win.
Mark twelve games.

Speaker 2 (27:14):
Mark, this defense is so bad that they've been so bad,
and they look, you know, first glance this year to
be so bad again. It doesn't matter if you keep
the ball ten minutes because the other team's gonna score
in ninety seconds. Okay, well, well let you know what
I mean.

Speaker 8 (27:32):
Yeah, yeah, let's let's get ready for another nine and
seven season and I'll get.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
Off all appreciate you. Mark. There you go, mister Ace
in the house. What's going on this race?

Speaker 4 (27:46):
You know what? Because of the fact that we had
us a wonderful continuation of my conversation that I had
with everybody's best friend Moe, we had a PJ. Jewles
sighting last night and he showed up with five tackles
and shoot, actually, when I flipped on the game, he

(28:07):
had a pretty good hit that I saw. So I
will continue on with my mission of stuff that PJ.
Jewles did in his pastime, his for every time while
he was in college. I told Mo I had like
about probably twenty things, and I gave him a top
five list. Continuing on that list for PJ Jewles, the hopefully,

(28:30):
I don't know, PJ Jewles may become a flash player
at the surprise player the whole it's not e bingo secondary.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I hope somebody does, because they didn't look like they
could cover you last night. Mister ayson.

Speaker 4 (28:44):
Hey, snap, I don't know if they could cover me
seven days a week. But man, PJ. Jewles, I believe
he could have possibly been a FBI agent or an
understudy for Double O seven or a stunt double for

(29:07):
a backyard uh backyard barbecue cookout, because I heard that
he could cook, and PJ. Jewles might have also he
might have been like the guy who was in college.
He was the chicken nuggets for McDonald's as well as
sell like the fair parts to to places like some

(29:33):
of the Buffalo Wing places that call him boneus chicken,
but really it's just chicken chunks for real. But I
don't know, man. I douinitely wish PJ. Jeles luck and
I hope that he could put up some stuff because
I just do happen to like his his name, and
I seem.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Like we now we've now spent more time on PJ.
Jewles than we have Joe Burrow. Man, I know what
you're talking. You spent four minutes on PJ. Jewles.

Speaker 4 (30:09):
I had to, man, I had to because this is
the most this is the most carb PJ. Jewels may get.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
Season is what I called in.

Speaker 2 (30:17):
All right, all right, he makes the team all right.

Speaker 4 (30:19):
But Jay b took care of Hey that play where
he hit your boy Chase out wide.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
Free rusher right in the face.

Speaker 8 (30:29):
Yes, And you knew.

Speaker 2 (30:32):
When you saw the angle that that Devender had when
Jamar caught the ball, he was it was toast as
soon as Jamar caught it and he was off balance.
It was a rap and Jamar Jamar didn't even get
out of like second year, he just cruised into the
end zone.

Speaker 4 (30:49):
It was over. It was all over, Mary fact, it
was so over. I think that uh, that would have
left the because I think they had the one of
the owners the Jacksonville Jackuarres and ae W one Tony
show earlier probably made Yeah, it would have made Hunter
possibly get dusted if he came in with that type

(31:11):
of angle. Because we know that they might probably put
Travis Hunter out there on shoot. I think he's probably
gonna have to go back and forth between Chase as
well as Higgins, and I don't know if they'll ever
put him in the slot on yo see. But man,
that's gonna be that's gonna be a fun game when
they play Jacksonville later on the shirt.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
Yeah, I think Travis Hunter is gonna be really good.
I don't think he wants any part of trying to
hang with Jamar Chase right now.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Nope.

Speaker 4 (31:39):
But you know what, though, I think that when you
play a guy that's a two way player like that,
I think you gas on one defense.

Speaker 2 (31:48):
So he's not as a fact much as you can.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Yeah, you at least got to do a couple of
gold routes on dude, because that's gonna take away from
his potential on offense.

Speaker 10 (31:58):
But that's just my.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
Absolutely, absolutely no argument there. Uh, you also looked about
as good at defensive end as Miles Murphy did yesterday,
mister Ace.

Speaker 4 (32:11):
Well Man, Shoot, Unfortunately, I'd have to say you, you
and Miles Murphy has not looked too good.

Speaker 2 (32:20):
You and Miles Murphy combined for zero quarterback pressures yesterday.

Speaker 4 (32:25):
Well, I mean, shoot, I started he played pretty good
on Retro Bowl and on on uh Madden and on
fantasy sports. Yeah, real man, I mean he's a very
good fantasy football player, man.

Speaker 3 (32:40):
I may shoot.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
I think he helps to pick the right defenses and
offensive players so that he could score. Real good man.
I think they're supposed to be doing a Miles Murphy podcast,
but how to select fantasy football.

Speaker 2 (32:53):
I think Miles Murphy is going to be watching Shamar
Stewart with the first team defense next week.

Speaker 4 (33:00):
Snoop man, I think he'll be watching some more Stewart
off season long. He'll be up there giving segnenty football
tips on the weekend, on the day before the game. Shoot,
he might even give in game adjustment.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
All right, miss Drece, I gotta get out of here.
I gotta talk to Tony, Yes, sir, all right, good
talking to you man.

Speaker 3 (33:19):
Bang here.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
All right, there you go, coming up next to Tony Pike.
Can't report following preseason game number one more after. That's
Society's ESPN fifteen.

Speaker 5 (33:33):
Thirty, Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 12 (33:38):
Traffic from the ec Health Traffic Center.

Speaker 7 (34:09):

Speaker 14 (34:13):
Brought you boy Keemba Credit Union on your official home

Speaker 2 (34:25):
All right, it's time, can't report time first preseason game addition,
my man Tony Pike Cincinnati Bearcats Hall of Famer. Wow, Wow,
still hasn't suck him. I mean I have to say
it every time I talk to you, just to you know,
get that.

Speaker 15 (34:43):
Is it really official yet? Until the actual induction that?
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
Like I heard Austin today called you a Hall of Famer,
like you're not. I don't think I'm there yet. You've
been in, like you've been non inductee. You're an inductee,
not inducted, You're an inductee. Yeah, first quest, is Charlie
possessed that?

Speaker 4 (35:01):
Now?

Speaker 15 (35:02):
I watched the video I did too earlier if you
if you missed it earlier today Charlie was on with
I Believe, Paul Danner Junior and Jay Morrison earlier in
the week he was in a hotel of the podcast.
Middle of the podcast, and Charlie just starts staring off
into the distance, mentioned that the lock on the door
started moving, other things happening in the doors open the
door and the door to the hallway opened. And Charlie

(35:25):
has not wondered, like do bits right? Like he's not
doing anything for clicks, like this legitimately happened. He is
sure he looked like that he saw a ghost, saw
a ghost. Yes, he looks like he looks like he
saw a ghost. And then his voice is gone. And
now his voice, his voice has been gone since the
moment he saw said ghost. I think he's possessed. We

(35:45):
should be worried about him.

Speaker 2 (35:46):
We should.

Speaker 15 (35:47):
Joe burwdn't see any ghosts in the pocket.

Speaker 2 (35:49):
Joe, the Bengals acted like they were ghosts. On defense,
but we'll talk about the good in this segment's segment. Offense,
it's a against the Eagles two some threes. You expect
the offense to go out and dominate. They went out
and they dominated. I'm interested in your take because my

(36:09):
take when I watched that Chase Brown jumped off the page.

Speaker 15 (36:14):
To me, you know, the last report we did yesterday,
I said I wanted to see them dominate in a
way that made it seem like, yeah, that's what you're
supposed to do against the second and third team. And
when we talk about the defense, that's a different story.
But last night, the offense, it's a lose lose situation
because if you don't do what you did last night,
the response is, well, you can't move the ball against

(36:35):
the second team defense. They did exactly what they had
to do. I thought they were the more physical team
up front on the line of scrimmage. With the offensive line,
Lucas Patrick you could say was struggle, but I thought
the other four offensive linemen were good. You saw everything
you need to see from Jamar Chase. You saw what
you needed to see from Joe Burrow. He's healthy, which
is the biggest thing going forward. But man, there's a
different speed when Chase Brown gets the ball. Yeah, whether

(36:58):
it's in the passing game or the run game, and
whether it's inside the tackles or outside. I just love
what he brings to this team.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
That played down the sideline, Yeah, a little swing pass
down the sideline was so valuable. I mean that gained them,
you know, an extra what twelve fifteen yards? Just his
ability to stay in bounds and his explosiveness down the sideline.

Speaker 15 (37:16):
He was he was awesome. Fairchild, Yeah, I thought Fairchild
was solid. You know, I don't think anything that You
don't want anything to stand out that you notice, Like
the first third down, I noticed Lucas Patrick missed the block.
You notice the penalty. Fair Child wasn't noticeable, which is
a good thing for an offensive lineman.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
What else getting into the twos? I mean, Jamar Chase
is incredible. As soon as he caught that.

Speaker 7 (37:39):
Yeah, you knew it was gonna happen.

Speaker 2 (37:40):
It was like he had that guy spun around. Yeah,
as soon as he caught it and turned, you knew,
and he jawed in for a touchdown.

Speaker 15 (37:47):
We've talked about Yoshi, We've talked about Jermaine Burton. I
thought Charlie Jones had a great night. How about Tanner
Hudsons saying, don't forget about me at tight end? He
played I think the whole game. Yeah, And I don't
want to say it's one preseason game, and I know
that historically Jake Browning doesn't play well in the preseason.
Jake Browning threw a pick last night and could have
owned three. I think des Ritter looked like the better

(38:08):
backup quarterback last night, and again that's starting. You don't
want to start into it early on. But des Ritter
was obviously brought in for a reason.

Speaker 2 (38:16):
One of the five winning his quarterbacks in all of
college football history.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
He was.

Speaker 15 (38:19):
I thought great last night for a guy that still
is trying to get his footing with a new playbook
and a new system he found JAMOI made which was
cool from a bearcat standpoint, but I thought he had
a better control from a quarterback standpoint of the offense
than what we saw from Jake Browning.

Speaker 2 (38:32):
All right, that'll do it for this segment. Tony, appreciate
you and uh I hope you have a great weekend.
Thanks ched all right, more after this Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 5 (38:44):
Hard Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 12 (38:46):
Sports Station.

Speaker 5 (38:48):
This is ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 2 (39:05):
Move and drive along our number two on a wonderful
Friday in the Queen City. It's warm, it's not humid, though,
it feels pretty good out there. Thank you, as always

(39:26):
for choosing me loaded our number two. We'll hear from
Joe Burrow momentarily following last night's game, didn't sound as
thrilled as you'd expect from a guy that went nine
for ten and scored two touchdowns on his only two
drives of the game. But I think he knows last

(39:50):
year was not easy, having to do everything, having to
carry the entire load, watching that defense get diced up
by backup yes, and then watching the number of special
teams errors and procedural errors that the Bengals had in
other areas. Joe could not have been happy sitting there

(40:14):
watching whatever transpired when he was not on the field.
It had to look very familiar, and his tone reflected
that in his postgame comments. We'll get to that in
a little bit. Richard Skinner joins me at four twenty,
Tony Pike back for another camp report near the end
of the hour, and then of course Brenneman and Jones

(40:37):
on baseball. So loaded hour two a little bit less
than hour three. Let's get some more reaction in hour three.
We'll talk a little Bearcats as they get ready for
their first scrimmage tomorrow at Knippert Stadium. I'm looking forward
to that, and we'll talk some Reds, Reds tonight, first

(41:04):
pitch six point forty, taking on the Pirates. The lineup
is out Freedo leading off in center, McLean batting second,
at second, de la Cruz batting third at short, Hayes
the dh batting clean up, Lucks in left batting fifth,

(41:24):
and Dahar at first, batting six, Stevenson behind the dish
batting seventh, Frehley batting eighth and right, and Hayes at third,
batting ninth. Chase Burns on the mound for the Reds.
And this a dangerous one for the Reds. If Jeff

(41:46):
Carr from Locked on Reds asked me yesterday, did you
expect them to win the series with the Cubs? And
maybe not, but that's not that out of the realm
of possibility that they could win a series in Chicago.
We're we're not talking about, you know, the the twenty
seven Yankees or the seventy five Reds. The Cubs have

(42:08):
not been playing as well as they were early in
the season, so I don't think it was crazy that
this team could win two out of three in Chicago.
But you don't get the sweep. You let that one
get away from you. With Andrew Abbott on the mound
and then you get dominated by Paul Skeens last night, tonight,
Mitch Keller on the mound for Pittsburgh, and you may

(42:32):
look at the record five and ten and go, eh,
I don't know about this guy. Uh, he's been pretty
consistent this year. He's got a three eighty nine ERA
and twenty three starts, and in his last four starts
Keller is four and oh with a three fifty five.
Or in his last seven starts, Keller's four and oh

(42:54):
with a three fifty five ERA. Has only walk ten
in thirty eight innings in that time. So you're going
against a guy that is pitching well, and you've lost
two in a row, and you're in a situation where
you need to rack up some wins because things things

(43:19):
can get out of hand.

Speaker 16 (43:20):
Here.

Speaker 2 (43:20):
Fast back to sixty and fifty six. They're only four
games over five hundred, they're in third in the NL Central,
they're losing ground in the NL wildcard race. I guess
the good news is they got us to the first

(43:43):
preseason game, because right now they are currently three and
a half back from the Mets, four and a half
back from the Padres, and seven back of the Cubs.
In the wildcard race. Not great, Bob. All right, back

(44:08):
to the Bengals. Let's get back to post game reaction
from last night. Let's hear from Joe Burrow.

Speaker 9 (44:17):
Came thrown up any better? I don't think the first
two drives.

Speaker 17 (44:23):
Yeah, I missed the first though, so that was a
little disappointing. But after that we walked in and uh,
that's had a couple of good drives.

Speaker 9 (44:31):
The touchdown of Jamat just like the one in Dallas,
just like the one.

Speaker 18 (44:35):
In the New New Orleans.

Speaker 17 (44:36):
Yeah, we've seen that one before. He's gonna keep doing
that and so let's try to get that guy the ball.

Speaker 9 (44:41):
But one in Dallas you have the blitz.

Speaker 10 (44:43):
I mean I think it was the flips in this one.

Speaker 17 (44:44):
Right, Yeah, they they ended up they zeroed us this time,
so we were able to get it out quick.

Speaker 9 (44:49):
I mean, how did you feel?

Speaker 10 (44:51):
I mean, you know, you want to sit and you
want to play a lot of great snap me. Did
you do this thing?

Speaker 7 (44:56):
You one of the press getting comfortable in the.

Speaker 9 (45:00):
Yeah, we've still got ways to go, obviously, but it's
a good start.

Speaker 1 (45:06):
Did you think it's the most befitial thing that has
been able to play as.

Speaker 9 (45:09):
Long as you go with me, I don't know. Well,
that's hard to say. It's just good to play football again.
You know, the more reps you get at it, the
better you're gonna be at it.

Speaker 17 (45:20):
So I think I've said we got fifteen reps tonight,
So we're fifteen reps better.

Speaker 9 (45:28):
What would you take from the touchdowns? Tomor leaders or
what you're coming right in your face and you can
kind of get.

Speaker 2 (45:32):
That play here, Maybe you can't get the packs.

Speaker 9 (45:34):
Yes, it was a good rep.

Speaker 17 (45:36):
Unbelievable play by him. Obviously he makes that play consistently,
So just try to get that guy the ball.

Speaker 13 (45:42):
It's a simple play.

Speaker 3 (45:43):
But why if that place he always works for loll
with teacher, Well.

Speaker 9 (45:49):
You got you got two really good players.

Speaker 17 (45:52):
And you know, sometimes the simple plays are the the
ones that are the best because you you wrap him
so many times, as you know, all the nuances to
him A big part.

Speaker 15 (46:02):
Of the preseason obviously, Joe, especially two games you're going
to be playing in as the.

Speaker 9 (46:07):
Interior or offensive line. What did you think of your
protection today?

Speaker 17 (46:10):
Yeah, I feel really comfortable back there. I thought the
pockets were great. You guys just gotta keep getting better, Joe,
you talked about needed to get hit potentially a three
runner on the touchdown of Jamar.

Speaker 13 (46:23):
How impoored is that for this year turn of plot
that may got.

Speaker 18 (46:26):
Playing in a round of time.

Speaker 17 (46:29):
I'm not sure how important it is. It's it's good
to feel, you know. Like I said, the more reps
that we get of playing this game, the better you're
gonna be at it.

Speaker 9 (46:40):
So that was a good rat.

Speaker 2 (46:44):
There you go. Joe Burrow Uh, not pleased with the
overall performance of the team, but clearly happy with with
what he was able to do when he was out there.
And I walked away after those first two drives. My
prevailing thought that we know what Joe and Jamar and
Tea are gonna do.

Speaker 16 (47:05):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (47:05):
Joe says he missed the throw. It was a little high.
I thought maybe there was a chance he could have
gotten up and gotten that ball on his first throw.
And look, the best play of maybe the game was
the back shoulder throw to Jamar the toe tap on
the sidelines. If you watch Jamar drop his hips, he

(47:25):
turned the corner. The corner is is full speed down
the sideline to keep up with Jamar. Jamar hits the brakes,
gets his body around, and I have no clue how
he kept his toes down for that catch. Taran, did
it look to you live like there was it was

(47:46):
clear he didn't catch it. Harry didn't get his feet
down one. I've seen the play and his team looked
away like, okay, it's incomplete when they said he caught it.
I just expected the challenge flag to come out because
it looked so obvious from the camera angle that they
had that there was his toe like he was in
the air, and then they showed the behind angle and

(48:09):
slowed it down and somehow he kept his toes down.
I thought that play was more impressive than the touchdown
because the touchdown was just Jamar b and Jamar Joe
got him in the right spot, he got the defender
off balance, he put him in the spin cycle, and
it was easy six from there. I thought that back

(48:31):
shoulder throw, which you couldn't have practiced that better on
air when you watch that thing live, the way Jamar
exploded off the line, got right into the defensive back.
The defensive back turn and run. Jamar hits the brakes,
does a great job getting turned around and keeping those
toes on the turf to make a catch for a

(48:51):
first down. I thought that was spectacular. But for me
those first two drives, it was Chase Brown because that
takes a ton. If that that is what Chase Brown
is going to be this year and that's what he
showed at the end of last year. If that carries
over and you've got that guy back there as a

(49:14):
legitimate threat every time he touches the ball to do
something big. The stress that that takes off of Burrow
and the stress that it puts on a defense, because
now do you not only have to defend two of
the best wide receivers in the NFL, a pair of
pass catching tight ends, but a running back that compliments

(49:38):
what Joe wants to do so well, both in the
checkdown game and just straight the run game. With his
ability to explode into the line of scrimmage and come
out on the other side for positive yards and potentially
big yards. That makes that offense just frightening frightening. I

(50:04):
Patrick at guard. They're gonna have to figure something out.
They're gonna have to figure something out, and some of
that comes down to I do think like if there
was a big winner from yesterday, for me, it's Trey
Hendrickson because now the Bengals, I think pretty clearly should

(50:26):
know what they have at guard is not good enough.
You have seen it in practice for the first couple
weeks of camp. Now you've seen it in a game.
They are not good enough at guard, and they might
have to take a look in the defensive backfield. I
know you don't want to panic because Cam Taylor Britt

(50:47):
and dak Zhill weren't out there, but man, the Eagles
second team sliced up that Cincinnati secondary and if you
got to go look and see what out there at
guard and maybe in the secondary, that's hard to do
until you get Trey Hendrickson resolved. Until you get Trey

(51:09):
Hendrickson out there on the field, I don't think you
have the luxury of playing a game of chicken until
the night of the first game of the season. So
I think you need other guys to come in here
and make this team better. And you don't know what
type of money you've got to work with until you

(51:31):
get the Hendrickson situation solved. So it was interesting hearing
Burrow's tone after he played as well as he did,
but knowing that's what last year I think pounded into
his brain. I can be the best quarterback on the planet,

(51:53):
and if we're not right in multiple other areas, there
are gonna be times it doesn't matter how great I
am because the other stuff around me isn't up to
my level. The other stuff around me isn't at a
championship level. And he's not gonna be happy until they

(52:19):
get there. He's not a guy that is just looking
at stats. He is a guy that, to the corps,
wants to win. And if you listen to him yesterday,
Joe had kind of the same thoughts as a lot
of us. What they've got probably isn't good enough, or

(52:43):
at least what they showed definitely wasn't good enough throughout
Week one of the preseason. Let's take a break. Richard
Skinner joins us next to talk some more Bengals. Right
after this The Moegger Show, hosted by Not Moegg. You're
right here on Cincinnatis ESPN thirteen.

Speaker 5 (53:02):
Thirty, Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 12 (53:07):

Speaker 2 (53:52):
Damn it feels good to be a gangst of a
real gangs. A type play of places court Fulgo back
to Cincinati's ESPN fifteen thirty ten bread bill again from
o Eggar here on this Friday, got a hot kip.
Not a good one for Cincinnati Sports. Reds lose, Bengals
lose FC, Cincinnati falls no longer an active member of

(54:17):
the Lega's Cup, an active participant in the Legas Cup.
They're out. Was not a good three way parlay yesterday?
You like that skinny we we Taran and I came
up with that yesterday. The three way parlay.

Speaker 13 (54:32):
Well, here's the thing, so I think you if you
did take the opposite of that, you would have made money,
but you would have gotten Yeah, if you'd taken the
silly money line. I think they were a six and
a half point underdog, so they were a plus. I
don't know about the soccer match if that was what
the odds were there, but that was probably.

Speaker 3 (54:49):
Yeah, that was a plus. If you went to the negative,
Cincinnati went skinny.

Speaker 2 (54:53):
How in the world were the Eagles a six and
a half point dog? People know how much better the
Eagles second and third teams are than the best a
third teams?

Speaker 13 (55:01):
Right?

Speaker 2 (55:02):
Burrows Borough playing two drives moved the line that much.

Speaker 13 (55:05):
Well, I had a Yes, I had a friend of
mine that said he was only going to play the
first quarter because of Burrow, so he made a little
bit of money off of that.

Speaker 3 (55:13):
That was probably the life you're going to do it.

Speaker 13 (55:15):
That was the last playoff, you know, knowing Burrow is
probably going to get a core. It wasn't officially a core.
It was several series, was the was the comment. But
it ended up being a quarter in a couple of series.
That was probably the life play. I mean, you you know,
you know the great story line of preseason writers.

Speaker 3 (55:29):
The Baltimore Ravens never lose, correct the Bengals.

Speaker 13 (55:35):
But they were six and at point home wonder noble.

Speaker 3 (55:36):
Last night the Ravens.

Speaker 2 (55:42):
Yeah, make it makes sense. Preseason lines. It's why I
that's why I don't gamble. I mean, I would have
been well, I would have been good.

Speaker 13 (55:50):
On that one. If you're gambling, I'll give my friend credit.
He called it right. That was the right way to
play that that last night was take the first quarter
line with the Bengals. I don't know what app was
probably a couple of points because the line, the GameLine
was six or six whatever. That's the way to do it.
To do a whole preseason game would be insane.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
Right, because you have no idea. Well, here's what I
do in this skinny. I know that the Eagles run
a much better organization than the Bengals. I trust them
to have better second and third teams than Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (56:21):
Yeah, I mean you know, I mean, how in the.

Speaker 13 (56:23):
World could you expect to beat Tanner McKee and Will
Shipley and those guys, I mean, a good team. They
were wise not to play jail and hurts. Some say
Kuon Barkley and those dudes.

Speaker 3 (56:32):
They knew what they were doing.

Speaker 2 (56:33):
Tanner Brady is what he looked like?

Speaker 13 (56:36):
Yeah, exactly, no, right, exactly twenty and twenty five with
a one thirty something fasser range.

Speaker 2 (56:41):
Sure, so I've heard a lot today. Don't overreact to
the Bengals defense looking like they looked?

Speaker 13 (56:49):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (56:50):
Is it okay to just regular react and go man?
That looked a lot like the problems that existed last year.

Speaker 13 (56:59):
Yeah. Yeah, And and the flip side of that is
Trey doesn't play, Hill doesn't play game, Taylor brit doesn't play,
Dax Hill doesn't play. And honestly, there's stuff I saw
formationally and as aggressive as they were in training camp,
I saw none of that last night. And you know,
Zach Keiler made the point, we hear this all the
time the old you were just gonna be vanilla, and.

Speaker 3 (57:18):
They were, and they were. But you also saw.

Speaker 13 (57:21):
Similar issues to last year, where the linebackers run to
the wrong gaps, and you saw, while you didn't see
this a lot last we saw two defensive tackles collide
with each other and Miles Murphy get.

Speaker 3 (57:30):
Blown out of a hole.

Speaker 13 (57:31):
You saw Josh Newton get spun around a couple of
times in coverage where he's probably not best suited to
play on the outside. He's probably the best suited to
play in the slot. And I think that's where he
eventually settles and plays with Dax and Cam on the outside.
So yeah, yeah, some of that, you go, Okay, you
just talk it up to that to you know Vanilla,
you know, no blitzing first game, you know, rookie linebacker,

(57:54):
you know, trying to learn on the fly a little
bit here, even though he's been good in camp. Uh so, yeah,
some of that, but you also have it on the
heels of what they were last year, and you go, yeah,
that living last year, that was that was last year
a dut show.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
Yeah, I mean, I think the thing for me was, Okay,
you can be base but still have somebody in the
same zip code as a wide receiver when he catches
the ball, Like that was the part that like a
running back just running through a hole that you could
have hit and gained ten twelve yards. It was huge.

(58:26):
Like those things are the things that flashed me back
to last year. The main one for me, though, is
guys just nobody around the ball. The quarterback doesn't have
pressure and he delivers a ball to a wide receiver
that doesn't have anybody within a you know, seven eight
yard radius of him. Like that, You're gonna lose games

(58:47):
in the NFL if you if you can't be anywhere
near a guy catching the ball.

Speaker 13 (58:52):
Yeah, and you know we saw that with DZ turnn
one practice where he just really struggled to stay up.
In the next practice he has five pass per and
it's like, okay, and listen, trust me, I'm part of
the part of the you know me, I'm a realist,
but I'm part of the hy like machine of what
I've seen in camp, and it's been impressive.

Speaker 3 (59:07):
It's been Wow.

Speaker 13 (59:09):
This looks like a different group. It's energetic, it's enthusiastic,
it's in the right place at the right time. It's
breaking up passes from Joe Burrow to Jamar Chase and okay,
but then last night was the sobering reality of Okay,
there's still ways to go, and so I again, easy
to react, right your point. I mean, we all overreact,
both good and bad. But you know, the reaction should

(59:30):
be kind of what I saw before, and you know
the whole Lol, Bulton's gonna fix all this stuff. Maybe
he can't because person isn't good enough. But again, I
let's see what they're at at full strength. Let's see
what they're at when and if Trey plays, which I
think he will, when bj Hill plays, when you have
a rotation, when you get Shamar Stewart more meaningful snaps,
and then playing against what was essentially the third team

(59:51):
last night, let's see what that looks like. But I
think that's that's where we're at with that. I'll be
disappointed if you see a similar performance against Washington, and again,
hopefully you face walk starters, which I believe you probably will,
so that gives you a little bit of a litmus
test too, of Jane Daniels and the crew. No Terry McLaurin,
probably because he's still not signed, but you'll see, you know,
the tuncular starters. But I also would like to see
Schimar Stuart play with the ones a little bit more.

(01:00:13):
I want to see what this looks like when Cam's
in an outside corner, when Dak still gets some snaps.
It probably won't be a lot of snaps, but when
Dak still gets some snaps. But let's see what it
looks like when you clean up some of this stuff
after looking at film after a week of you know,
why two tackles go to the same spot, and why
a linebacker runs here and a linebacker runs there. That's
that's a good That's a big part of preseason. There's
a big part of the game of the week to
week itself. Okay, why did we have these mistakes last year?

(01:00:35):
It was didn't have a run fit correct, didn't tackle
and that was the one. I mean it was tackling
last night was horrible. Yet, yes, that's that's disappointing too.
I mean he had Braylen Luck, so I really like
and I think he's pushing for a roster spot of Corey.
He's in some good places and he comes on a
run blit's off the corner, he's right in the hole
and he's about to bury the back and the back
Berry's in and off he goes. And so yeah, there's
a lot clean up. Uh, there's there's no doubt about it.

(01:00:57):
And I get where everybody would be at when all
you know is what you saw last year and what
you saw last night, and you go ooh, and you know,
I'm gonna see a bunch of forty five forty two great.
I don't think we are.

Speaker 2 (01:01:08):
Yeah, that's why Joe was mad. Like Joe understands he
doesn't want to have to win games forty five forty two.
He will, but he'd rather win games thirty four to
twenty one.

Speaker 4 (01:01:19):
Those are fun.

Speaker 3 (01:01:20):
Yeah, yeah, those are okay.

Speaker 13 (01:01:21):
You're allowed to do it.

Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
You're allowed to do that.

Speaker 13 (01:01:24):
And again, then then the flip side of that is
how good he was. And I get to it way
against who's it was against backups. But I think you
saw his reasoning for wanting to play in the preseason,
and he talked about it, you know, of wanting to
get hit, of wanting to feel the rush, of wanting
to see some pressures.

Speaker 3 (01:01:40):
And you saw some of that.

Speaker 13 (01:01:41):
You saw him have to roll out getting flushed from
the pocket one time, and how he reacted to that.
You know how good he was with it from a
timing perspective. And I'm going to guess they have basically
told Joe, don't hang on to it, man. One read,
two reads, go and and you're gonna probably be okay,
get rid of it. And then he saw the zero
blitz where a blitzer's in his face. He sees the
free runner.

Speaker 7 (01:01:58):
Man.

Speaker 13 (01:01:59):
What he wants to have the timing of that. It
was it was good to catch in the the run
on top of it from Chase. Yeah, I think those
are the things that it sounds like. You know, you
should hit the ground run because you've seen those in
a game before, but you haven't. You haven't seen them
since last January, so you'd like to see those again,
feel those again. And he's even talked about, you know,
some of the slow starts are clearly and I know

(01:02:20):
nobody wants to hear this, are clearly Joe Burrow health related.
But it's also you know, like last year, you know
it was a little bit of a health it was
a little bit Jamar, but it was also him wanting
to kind of ease into a season. You saw that
that first game it was checkdown City. He doesn't want
to go to check Down City.

Speaker 3 (01:02:36):
He wants to all right, I'm ready to go.

Speaker 13 (01:02:38):
I know where this ball is going to go.

Speaker 2 (01:02:40):
I know where the.

Speaker 13 (01:02:41):
Timing of this has to be. I know what the
rush is going to feel like, because I've already felt it.
And I think that's what you saw last night, and
you'll see even more of that in Washington.

Speaker 2 (01:02:48):
The back shoulder throw to Jamaru Tarn and I talked
about it a little. You can't cover it one, you
can't like that. Jamar did exactly The DBU was scared.
He turned his hips and started running because he thought
Jamar was going to run by him. Jamar hits the
brakes and I still have no idea how he kept
his toes down. I have no idea. And the throw
from Burrow was perfect.

Speaker 13 (01:03:08):
So there was a catch a couple of weeks ago
in training camp at the back of the end zone.
You may remember the highlight of there was a one
handed catch Schamar head with his with his inside hand
of all things on the on the catch.

Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
And I was walking through the locker.

Speaker 13 (01:03:20):
Room that day and Dan Pitcher and I crossed and
I said that catch was blank and ridiculous. He goes, Man,
he goes, I say that three or four times of practice.
I'm like, I'm sure you do. It's it's probably true.
I mean we you know, you watch those back shoulder
throws in practice and you literally go, you can't cover that,
And then you saw it last night. You can't cover that.

Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
No, nothing you can do. Shamar Stewart clearly against the threes,
but had his moments Miles Murphy against the twos had
moments that they're going to watch a lot on tape
today and tomorrow. Are we long for the time where

(01:03:58):
chamar is mixing with the ones because Miles is just
not showing it yet.

Speaker 13 (01:04:04):
It's a good question because I know they've got a
fairly long rope in serie with Miles. They want to
see what they've got. I mean, it's as as it's
so one of our favorite quotes, as Al Golden said
to us on the final day off Mini camp, But
who has asked about Miles Murphy And I wish I
could do it justice the way I'm gonna phrase. He said,
it's time right, like he would try to even talking

(01:04:24):
into question for him to play right. Yeah, it's time right, Well, yeah,
it is time right. And you know then you see
like last night, like getting kicked out of a hole
by a rookie tackle on that long run and then
where he gets some pressure but he can't get off
of the block to go finish it. I mean it's
time and so how long is that time is it?
Let's see what's got in the first half of the

(01:04:45):
margin and game, brother, and if you can't do it
and this kid keeps flashing and we signed get Trey
sign before the opener. Maybe he's just part of a
rotation again where and I'm not. I don't think there's
anything wrong with a rotational piece. You know, you give me,
you give me less snaps for Trey, and you give me,
you know, basically with the to a four man rotation
total two on each side and keeping guys fresh.

Speaker 3 (01:05:04):
Sign me up for that. But part of that rotation's
got to be one of the four pieces has got
to play.

Speaker 13 (01:05:09):
And right now Miles just doesn't make plays, and it's
it's time, right, I mean, if it doesn't go off now,
and it doesn't go off early, I don't know how
long the rope can be. I mean, if you're winning
games and he's playing meaningful steps because he has to,
and a light bulb doesn't go off, and then suddenly
you're at a spot where, okay, we can't do this
any longer. Okay, maybe that's a good thing, but you

(01:05:30):
can't be losing games when he's not playing well without
pulling the.

Speaker 3 (01:05:33):
Trigger on that either.

Speaker 2 (01:05:34):
Yeah, and just looks different, he.

Speaker 13 (01:05:38):
Looks and listen, that's what you've seen. That's what we've seen.
Throughout camp, against the twos, against Jalen Rivers, against Devin Cocker,
and even when he's lined up inside, you've seen all
of those things. And he's lined up a little bit
with the ones, not enough to where you just go wow.
And some of it's been You've watched him get Stone Boy,
and he talked about Orlando Brown getting his hands on
him in the first practice, going whoa wow, this is different.

Speaker 2 (01:05:58):
So you know that that is different.

Speaker 13 (01:06:00):
But you know at some point it's you know, you're
allowed to play first round draft picks in a rookie year.
I mean you're allowed to. And again, I'm not sure
to tell you they need to do it now. I'm
not telling you they need a ton in Washington. I'm
not telling you they need to do it in the open.
But if the kid keeps flashing and he's dominating one group,
well then let's move him up a notching key what
he does against the other group.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
I thought first round draft picks had the red shirt skinny.
I thought that was in the in the Bengals bylaws.

Speaker 13 (01:06:26):
They do with John rosson, Miles Murphy and pick whoever
else you want to pick a boy.

Speaker 2 (01:06:31):
He and there's well Hey, was it Joe Burrow?

Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
Joe Borrow Chase No, well.

Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
Joe kind of well looking at uh guard Patrick looks
bad right, like that's not just my eyes, Like, okay,
I mean it was.

Speaker 13 (01:06:54):
I would say it was okay, I mean did you
did you see Joe Burrow get pressured on every snappy
pass because of no he had the bad penal leite,
he had the bad penal league. Listen, he's only practice
with the ones. I think three times. He was dealing
with an injury for a couple of days early in
camp he was he was running at second string center.

Speaker 3 (01:07:11):
I think they wanted to.

Speaker 13 (01:07:12):
Give Cody fo a run early. It wouldn't shock me
in the Washington game if Cody doesn't get the start,
just to say, Okay, we gave you a start, we
gave you a start, and let's see what we got
from a from a film perspective on that, maybe not,
Maybe they want to see Lucas for a longer period
of time and use Cody in the kind of Swiss
army knife backup role. But I do think Dylan Fairchild
is clearly solidified left card. I don't even think it's

(01:07:33):
a competition at all anymore. I think he is the guy,
and I think that was the good things. You saw
him play pretty well last night. I mean again, did
did Joe get hit? I mean it was a pretty
clean pocket again, And I know it was a lot
of get out of his hands.

Speaker 3 (01:07:47):
You know, you saw a couple of quick screens.

Speaker 13 (01:07:48):
I get on that, and that's that's a smart that's
smart from a play calling perspective. So he didn't have
to have a lot of deep sets. There was a
couple and in deep drops and hold hold the pocket
for a while, there were a couple of those in
the fuck the pocket Hill up pretty well. So yeah,
I'm not I'm not completely down on Lucas Patrick, and
I think it was an okay first start in the competition.

Speaker 3 (01:08:10):
They're still open.

Speaker 13 (01:08:11):
I don't think it's open at all. Left guard. I
think hill Fair channels already done enough and hopefully he
continues at in the Washington game and you go boom,
you see. I think that's something you want to see.
Chetis you just don't want to go, Okay, I gotta
have a guard and you're you're the guy. No, you
want to go You're the guy because you earned to
be the guy.

Speaker 2 (01:08:25):
I think Dylan's done that one reds question before I
let you go three nothing in the first inning, where
you're like, all right, good, I don't have to worry
about that anymore.

Speaker 8 (01:08:34):
I did.

Speaker 13 (01:08:35):
So I'm you know, I'm doing a kind of a
running game blog on our website during the game, and
I get a push notice from DBS Supports that shows
that score.

Speaker 3 (01:08:43):
But you have to good enough, pul Skins done deal,
see later as a wrap.

Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
But you can't go to Pittsburgh and lose again. They did,
they get killed, they get destroyed in Pittsburgh. You can't
lose seven to nothing that day.

Speaker 13 (01:08:54):
No, So so I was Jeff Brandley earlier this week
made a point of when they had fifty games to go,
thirty and twenty put you clearly in the conversation, and
then they win their first to loser next two. So
now you're down to your you need to go.

Speaker 3 (01:09:08):
Twenty eight and eighteen.

Speaker 13 (01:09:09):
Well, if you're gonna go twenty and eighteen, you better
win these next three to start the ball rolling in
that direction.

Speaker 3 (01:09:13):
That would give you, I mean, I would still give
you a very good week.

Speaker 13 (01:09:16):
I mean, that would give you a five and two
week extrap late five and two over times five. That's
twenty five and ten. I don't know if they do
that every week, that's that's a pretty good week. But yeah,
you can't. You can't lose this series. At the minimum.
You need to split it if you If you lose
this series, I mean, at what point does the mats
just get too wonky to think about?

Speaker 2 (01:09:34):
And Mitch Keller, by the way four and oh in
his last seven starts three fifty five era.

Speaker 13 (01:09:42):
Yeah, I've got him on my fantasy baseball team. I
stuck with him through the one and ten starts, so
I'm paying the divity after that, which also tells you
about the state of my fancy baseball team. Mitcheller's part
of my rotation.

Speaker 2 (01:09:52):
You didn't have a choice but to stick with them
after a one.

Speaker 13 (01:09:54):
In don'steck, that is courct that well, I will say,
there's so many injuries anymore that at some point go
to heck with it with my roster's my roster.

Speaker 3 (01:10:02):
You're healthy, tag.

Speaker 2 (01:10:03):
You're in skinny, appreciate it. Have a nice relaxing weekend
since you'll probably you get a day or two here, right, No,
I got a day.

Speaker 13 (01:10:13):
Today and then tomorrow back at practice. Tomorrow late afternoon
actually in the heat, and then Sunday back to the
Sunday morning practice.

Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
All right, there you go, Thanks Kenny, appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
You bet take a shit.

Speaker 2 (01:11:30):
Welcome back. Pre season camp reports continue on This is
the postgame edition, day after the Bengals kind of get
handed by the Eagles. Tony, I'm Tony Pike, Sin Santi
Bearcat's Hall of Famer. Good to be here, host of
since the three sixteen. Good to be here, Tony. I

(01:11:51):
felt this when I watched Cincinnati play Philadelphia in the
regular season last year. I felt it again last night.
That is such a well run organization, like watching their
twos and threes felt like watching an NFL team.

Speaker 15 (01:12:07):
I'm so impressed with how no matter their ones, twos, threes,
or whoever's in the game, they all play with the
same energy and the execution is there. Like we talked earlier,
I thought the O line for the Bengals dominated pushed
off the line of scrimmage. It looked like the first
team offense playing against the Bengals last night, against their ones.

(01:12:29):
It was the only team in the NFL last year
that ran the ball more times than they passed. Out
of every NFL team, one team ran it more and
it's the Philadelphia Eagles, and they showed last night. It's
not just because they have elite players. It's because it's
a mindset that is set within that organization of who
you're going to be the moment you step into that building.
And I thought that was on display for the Eagles
last night.

Speaker 2 (01:12:49):
Yeah, it's frustrating because that just feels like top to bottom,
just absolute first class. Yeah, all the way around. And
it's frustrating because you want that here.

Speaker 10 (01:12:59):
It was.

Speaker 15 (01:13:00):
It was more frustrating last night because I pulled it up.
The offense goes down and looks great, and I tweeted
something out about the offense, and then the Bengals kicked
off and second all I did, I said, want to
see this defense just fly around and dominate the line
of scrimmage. And before I could even get that tweet out,
they were already in the red zone. It it it

(01:13:22):
was complete opposite of what we talked about with the
offense earlier. It looked like they were getting off the
ball slow.

Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
I don't, I don't. I hate the term.

Speaker 15 (01:13:30):
I thought the defense looked.

Speaker 2 (01:13:31):
Soft last night. I agree, And that's kind of what
I wanted to get to from my observation. I'm interested
from a quarterback size, guys are just wide open, like
standing still waiting for the ball with no one in
a pause through. Yeah, in the running in the running game,
the Bengals defense was nowhere to be found.

Speaker 15 (01:13:51):
I was I was more thrown off because after the
game he always interested, Okay, what's everyone saying? And the
response as well. We just wanted to stay mostly base.
We wanted to keep things villiar vanilla. But guess what,
that's what I thought Al Golden was Anyway. I thought
the whole thing was things were too crazy with Luyenna Rumo. Yeah,
guys played slower, they were thinking too much. I thought,

(01:14:12):
if you're just going base, then that tells me that
guys should be playing confident and fast and flying around
the field and dominating up front. They didn't win one
on one battles last night. Microscope was on Miles Murphy,
didn't win many one on one battles. The secondary, which
has a ton of questions, didn't win many many one
on one battles. Logan Wilson took some poor angles in runfielled.

(01:14:34):
Demetrius Knight was there but didn't finish the play, and
one of the biggest concerns outside of the D line
the safety position. I know Geno Stone went out of
the game and was on the sidelines. If you were
to lose a guy like Geno Stone for a longer
period of time, what's the next response, Like, what's the
backup plan? I think there were many things on defense

(01:14:55):
that you caught your eye last night in a way
of oh boy, but now that's the baseline. You still
got a new scheme, still got a new coordinator. I
want to know from now to the Washington game, how
do they look better a team they didn't stop once?

Speaker 2 (01:15:11):
Correct?

Speaker 15 (01:15:12):
If it happens against Washington. Now it's a theme. If
they have a bad game last night and all of
a sudden they played better against Washington, you can say, Okay,
they're at least getting better, and that's why you play
the starters in the preseason. If we see something similar
against the Commanders, that to me is a major, major
red flag.

Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
I have one more thing before I let you go.
I heard a lot today on Sincy three to sixty
during the talkback segment. Don't overreact? Oh can we react?
Like our job is to react?

Speaker 3 (01:15:40):
Right?

Speaker 2 (01:15:40):
I don't think we're overreacting. I think watching that was
troubling because it looked a lot like what we saw
a year.

Speaker 15 (01:15:48):
That game last night felt like regular season games we
watched last year. So no, you can't say you can't
react positively to what the offense did and then say, well,
don't worry about it with a defense because they were
playing base That's not how it works. You're reacting to
what you saw on the football field because it was
important to play the starters. You played starters, and you
got beaten up on the defensive side of the ball.

(01:16:09):
Outside of that, probably a pretty positive night for Trey
Hendrickson on the plane right home. A little bit more
leverage the Trey the money now has going forward. Pey
pay Trey. Yep, all right, that's gonna do it.

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):

Here we go our number three, the Moegar Show. Here
in Society ESPN fifteen thirty, I am obviously not Moegar.

(01:17:57):
I am a Chad Brendle faircat journal filling in FROMO
yesterday and today. Bengals fault yesterday in the preseason opener
thirty four to twenty seven to the Philadelphia Eagles. It

(01:18:20):
is the seventh consecutive preseason loss for the Cincinnati Bengals,
the other six to be fair done without any of
really any of Cincinnati's starters. It has been a Zach
Taylor staple that he saves his guys for the regular season.

(01:18:41):
This is a franchise that has not started well of late,
and Taylor decided to crank it up, give us some
of the first team guys, as many of the first
team guys as available, and we saw an electric performance

(01:19:02):
from Joe Burrow nine of ten one hundred and twenty
three yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions. The only incompletion was
his first pass to t Higgins. Higgins was open Burrow
with a ball that was a little high, Higgins didn't
properly adjust, went off his hands, and then nine of

(01:19:24):
nine near perfection. Chase Brown I thought was excellent yesterday.
Five attempts twenty three yards and also had a couple
catches three catches for twenty five yards, including a thirteen
yarder down the sideline for a first down. The Bengals
first team offense admittedly against the Eagles second team defense,

(01:19:45):
but the Bengals first team offense looked exactly how you
want them to look the defense. Whoof the Eagles second
string quarterback. It was twenty for twenty five, one hundred
and fifty two yards, two touchdowns, no picks. Will Shipley's

(01:20:07):
seven for forty six in the run game the notable
one there a thirty six yard on the first drive.
Hand it looked wash Rense repeat kind of showing for
the Cincinnati defense. We will get to plenty more of that.

(01:20:30):
The phone lines are open in hour number three. We'll
talk to Tony at the end of the show to
get his final takeaway from preseason game number one, But
we are wide open. If you'd like to give your
reaction to the Bengals falling thirty four to twenty seven
to the Eagles, if you'd like to give your reaction

(01:20:51):
to the Reds getting shut out seven to nothing against
the Pirates and Paul Skeens yesterday. I've seen Cincinnati falls
to one to Sivas and the League Es Cup, so
the Orange and Blue are no longer in the League Cup.
Just a bad Thursday, Just a bad Thursday. But I'm

(01:21:17):
gonna go to the phones because Mike was on hold
that entire four o'clock hour. We did not have any space. Unfortunately,
with Skinny and Tony and Brennanman and Jones. So I
feel bad for having made Mike wait all this time,
So I'm gonna go to him now, Mike in La Mike,
how the heck are you?

Speaker 18 (01:21:38):
You should feel bad?

Speaker 3 (01:21:40):
I do.

Speaker 2 (01:21:42):
Feel terrible.

Speaker 4 (01:21:43):
Yeah, Okay, I have a.

Speaker 3 (01:21:47):
Lot of content here.

Speaker 4 (01:21:48):
So if you say I have two minutes.

Speaker 18 (01:21:50):
I'll just hang up.

Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
No, you got a while the first segment, like you know,
you're you're You're lucky if you get picked in the
first segment, because then I haven't blown up the uh
and I'm fighting against it. The first segment is when
you blow up the clock, Mike, and then you scramble
to get right the rest of the hour. That's how
I do radio, okay.

Speaker 3 (01:22:09):
Because pardon.

Speaker 18 (01:22:12):
One of the most pleasurable things about.

Speaker 3 (01:22:14):
Calling station is my discussion period with Teren. Karen and
I have a blest we have for ten years. When
I call in Taren and I.

Speaker 4 (01:22:24):
Talk, he talks to me.

Speaker 3 (01:22:25):
We talked for about five minutes, a lot of time,
did a lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
So, yeah, what you don't know, Mike, because I heard
some of that conversation and I'm ready for you, buddy.

Speaker 4 (01:22:33):
Yeah, I didn't say nothing about you.

Speaker 18 (01:22:35):
I didn't say that.

Speaker 4 (01:22:38):
Okay. Now I don't know where to start, but I
am trying to be organized. Okay, first thing, let me
tell you.

Speaker 3 (01:22:44):
I love it when you say he dropped his hips.

Speaker 8 (01:22:48):
Loved that.

Speaker 3 (01:22:49):
That football jargon, Baby, he dropped his hips. Boy, sounds
like you're talking about Elvis Preston or something. He's shocked
a gat, he shut the gap. All that football jargon,
it's just enough to get a woodie.

Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
I'll tell you what I know a lot more. I
know a lot more basketball jargon than football jargon. But
I know if you get a dB to turn his
hips and start running the other way and you and
your number, you got number one and chase on the
back of your jersey, that guy is bleeped.

Speaker 4 (01:23:21):
Yeah yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:23:23):
And probably most of the slogans you know basketball, from
slam dunk to fast breaks, all that, it was all
coined by the great Chick hern the greatest basketball announcer
ever to live. So God rush your soul, Chick and

(01:23:43):
most people here don't know chick Is, but they sorry
for them.

Speaker 18 (01:23:48):
Okay, reds first.

Speaker 3 (01:23:50):
Ab it ain't Sandy Kokpat and he ain't Steve carl
So he's gonna have these moments.

Speaker 18 (01:23:55):
He's still so young, very very impressed. We're all very impressed.

Speaker 2 (01:23:59):
But right now he's their number one. Green is hurt
Lidolo is hurt. Abbott is your best guy?

Speaker 3 (01:24:06):
Yeah, well he's probably the best guy even if those
other guys are there.

Speaker 2 (01:24:10):
I mean with the season, he's had no argument there.

Speaker 3 (01:24:14):
Yeah, Keller tonight is the very sound, solid pitcher. So
the Reds got their work cure for him again in
the night.

Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
He's four and oh in his last seven starts three
point fifty five e r and those seven and he's
only he's at three eighty nine for his era on
the season. He is not a pushover.

Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
Yeah, and if he was a left hand or watch
out because the Reginald too well with us, they get
two hits. You know you were talking about four Yeah,
maybe you were talking about the Eagles looking so impressively.
The three best I feel like, the three best general
managers in the NFL for the last few years, or
Howie Roseman of course.

Speaker 18 (01:24:56):
And then Less Snead with the Rams, and then him
and McVay are glove, Love and glove, and then the
guy from Todd Lake from the Tampa Bay, Tampa base.

Speaker 3 (01:25:08):
They that's a self built team except for Vaper Mayfield,
everybody's come from alten. That's an impressive organization, Tampa Bay,
very impressive.

Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
I mean, I still I don't think you're at a
point where we can leave the Chiefs out of this.
I'd like to, Yeah, we don't like to, but I
mean they're still right there at the top of the mountain,
and then the Ravens would probably round out the top
five of that group. Although the Bills, if they can

(01:25:42):
get over the hump, and the Ravens, if they can
get over those two are kind of like five six right,
They're they're interchangeable depending on which one ever actually gets
past the Chiefs.

Speaker 3 (01:25:52):
That's just a shame.

Speaker 4 (01:25:53):
The Chargers lost Slater and then the Bucks lost.

Speaker 3 (01:25:56):
Works, Who's one of the few guys that was All
Pro right tackle in twenty twenty one and an All
Pro left tackle in twenty two and twenty three. Nobody's
ever done that before ever, Christian Works, and he hurt
his knee. Now he's going to miss the first four
games probably damn it. But I wanted to share something

(01:26:18):
with you real quick and see if you remember this
little sports talk history here locally.

Speaker 4 (01:26:23):
You remember Bob. They called the net the network Bob
at the.

Speaker 2 (01:26:28):
Time, eleven sixty Bob Ear Yeah, eleven sixty Bob.

Speaker 4 (01:26:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:26:33):
And what a lineup they had.

Speaker 4 (01:26:34):
Lance was a youngster that.

Speaker 2 (01:26:36):
Fish yeah, Sturgeon right, Bolsters.

Speaker 3 (01:26:43):
Yeah, and then they had well, they had Mark Amazon
also Yeah. But the hardcore guys were Lance and Arch Schleister,
god Loving and then the great Don Burrows, who most
people don't remember, the red head. Don Burrows was fantastic.

Speaker 2 (01:27:00):
I think I ever crossed paths with him. I might
not have been in the industry yet.

Speaker 3 (01:27:04):
Yeah, if you ever can listen to a little bit
of his giddy up on the on tape, check him out.

Speaker 4 (01:27:11):
He was great.

Speaker 3 (01:27:11):
And then of course I was answering the phones back then.
I came back home when my dad passed away, and
I ended up staying for a year because I just
retired from GE and Big Tim Lewis and Tim was
Big Tim was about forming a big dog about five
eleven and four owed three.

Speaker 13 (01:27:28):
He was the big guy.

Speaker 4 (01:27:31):
He was from Utah.

Speaker 3 (01:27:32):
He's an interesting guy.

Speaker 4 (01:27:33):
I really got to kick out.

Speaker 3 (01:27:34):
Okay, Cincinnati people, I bored you with that. Now I
want to get to your bread and butter. The Nebraska Cornhuskers.
I've been doing a little research here. I know they
got a sophomore quarterback ray Or, but they got a

(01:27:54):
nice running back Emma Johnson coming into this season. They
got two offensive line on one out of Alabama and
one out of Notre Dame and a portal.

Speaker 4 (01:28:06):
I just think this game and.

Speaker 3 (01:28:07):
They got a great defense. Now they are what they
call it, what they call it the pro the FPI,
the Football Power Index for the NC Double A, and
Nebraska is twenty fifth. U see fifty seven. That's going
to be a tough game, Chad, tough game.

Speaker 2 (01:28:27):
Sure, that's why Nebraska's favorite by six and a half points.

Speaker 4 (01:28:32):
Just break it down for me a little bit as
far as what you think they have an advantage over
us and vice versa.

Speaker 2 (01:28:39):
They've got a little bit more continuity. I mean, if
you look at sp plus, it's interesting because sp plus
has them seventeen on defense, which is a little bit
higher than most, but they have them seventy five on offense,
and they also have them as one night on special teams.

(01:29:03):
So the question I think for me is can Brendan
Soresby and this newly vamped receiver room move the ball
through the air on Nebraska's defense, because I'm not saying
Cincinnati will shut down Nebraska's offense. Rayl is pretty good.
He's got a good wide receiver group, he's got a

(01:29:25):
good running back. But Rail is a little inconsistent and
he's not a guy that handles pressure. I mean, he
can move a little bit in the pocket, but if
you can get him off his spot, you can bother him.
So the question will be one, does Cincinnati have a
pass rush, because last year they really didn't. Does somebody

(01:29:49):
step up at that edge position, or are they using
the linebackers more frequently to get after the quarterback. Last
year they kind of got stuff in a rut of
they couldn't pressure the quarterback, so instead they were dropping
eight and teams the quarterback was just you know, even

(01:30:10):
if you drop eight, if the quarterback has all day,
he's gonna find a guy open, somebody's gonna find an
open spot in the zone, Sit down, wait, catch a pass,
and your defense is going to be in trouble. So
does Cincinnati have a pass rush? If they don't, and
Nebraska is able to control the ball and allow their

(01:30:32):
defense to be really good, it's it's probably trouble for Cincinnati.
If the Cincinnati defense can can make Rayola uncomfortable, I
think they've got a chance. I just don't know that
they can.

Speaker 4 (01:30:49):
Now.

Speaker 3 (01:30:50):
If you, I know, not asking you what you would
gamble because you don't want to do that on airness surely,
But if you were advising me, for instance, with the
spread on that game now, which could change obviously with
injuries or something. But if the spread stays the same,
would you I know it would kill you to go
against the Cats. But but if you were just telling
your buddy on the side, you're like me, Mike, I

(01:31:12):
think you should put one hundred on which team.

Speaker 2 (01:31:15):
I mean, if you're giving me six and a half,
I would probably take Cincinnati because I do think it's
going to be a pretty close game. I mean, obviously
you would worry about Nebraska getting a late touchdown to
make it two scores, getting a late score to kind
of push the lead in the fourth quarter, because, make
no mistake, Mike, this is going to be a Nebraska

(01:31:36):
home game. From people I've heard in the industry that
are around this game, it's like eighty eighty five percent
Nebraska fans that are buying tickets. So, wow, Arrowhead Stadium
is going to be very very pro Nebraska.

Speaker 4 (01:31:54):
That makes sense.

Speaker 3 (01:31:55):
Geographically, it makes sense.

Speaker 2 (01:31:56):
Yeah, I mean that's got to be factored in. So well,
you look at that and you go okay. But I
do think this Cincinnati team is better than people think.
I do think they are deeper than they have been
since they've been in the Big Twelve. I do think
they are significantly more talented than they've been since they've
moved into the Big Twelve. So there is an opportunity

(01:32:20):
here because I think that, you know, here's here's something,
Mike that I don't talk about a lot. But one
of the things that has always been a pretty good
judge of how good the Bearcats are going to be
is the activity of the NFL scouts around campus for
practice I'll be doing two years ago. Two years ago,

(01:32:45):
you'd see maybe one guy, like you know, just guys
working their regions, and they work their way through Cincinnati
as they're doing Lexington, Bloomington, Cincinnati, Columbus, they'll work their
way through we have. I mean, there was nine scouts
at a practice the other day. Wow, and they're pulling
aside the quarterback coach the linebacker coach, you know, for

(01:33:08):
Brendan Sorosby and Jake Goldey and Dante Corleone. The defensive
line coach and the wide receiver coach for Jeff Caldwell
and Cyrus Allen, and the tight end coach for Joe
Royer and some of the guys on the offensive line
with Nick Cardwell. And we haven't seen that the last
two years because those teams, frankly, weren't littered with talent

(01:33:32):
at multiple positions. I think this Cincinnati team has NFL
talent pretty much across the board. We don't know for
sure about the secondary, but linebacker, defensive line, offensive line, quarterback,
wide receiver, tight end. There's NFL talent at many many positions,

(01:33:52):
and that's usually a pretty good indicator that your team
is in position to be pretty good. And I think it.
I think this team can be pretty good. But my
question becomes, Mike, the self inflicted wounds that we saw
from this team last year in their five game losing streak,

(01:34:13):
when the special teams was bad and giving up field position,
and the kicking game was bad, and you know, the
penalties called. You know, there's a lot of stuff that
piled up that cost them games that if they played clean,
they would be in a much better spot. That is
on Scott Siderfield and the coaching staff to clean that
stuff up and allow the talent to go out there

(01:34:36):
and put themselves in a position to win. We have
gone like thirteen minutes, Mike, I gotta go, or Terren's
gonna stab me with a pen?

Speaker 3 (01:34:43):
I appreciate it. Or are they gonna make a bowl game?

Speaker 10 (01:34:46):
Kid?

Speaker 2 (01:34:46):
They should if they don't, there is far too much
talent for this team not to be playing in a
bowl game.

Speaker 4 (01:34:52):
Thank you, Chiv. I appreciate you.

Speaker 2 (01:34:54):
Bro, appreciate you. Mike, talk soon, Thanks brother. Hey, all right,
we gotta take a break. Tarren's gonna gonna come in
here and kick me more after that. Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 5 (01:35:04):
Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty. Traffic from the UC.

Speaker 2 (01:35:55):
You know about something you gotta tarn taking us into
the weekend with a dance party Ghostbusters too anymore?

Speaker 9 (01:36:11):
Dancing this wheelchair?

Speaker 19 (01:36:13):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (01:36:13):
You have no idea, Terreen. I might dance tonight.

Speaker 16 (01:36:18):
I might.

Speaker 2 (01:36:18):
I might put on Bobby Brown radio, or I'll listen
to tarn On on the beat and I'm gonna dance
on my driveway. How about that? No, it's too hot
for that, right, it's too hot for that. But we're
getting close to fire pit season coming back not far.
Let's get to the phones, Dick and Dayton.

Speaker 3 (01:36:40):
Dick, how are you okay?

Speaker 9 (01:36:43):
Hey?

Speaker 3 (01:36:43):
Hey, Chad?

Speaker 20 (01:36:45):
Watch last night too? Looked pretty good? You know those
first thing.

Speaker 2 (01:36:51):
Go ahead?

Speaker 13 (01:36:52):
Hello?

Speaker 2 (01:36:52):
Yeah, I'm here.

Speaker 20 (01:36:53):
Are you still there?

Speaker 2 (01:36:54):
I'm here, Dick, I'm here.

Speaker 20 (01:36:56):
I'm telling you, Chad, I can't believe they get that lead.
The defense is starting to worry and me Chadd starting
you know, have they.

Speaker 2 (01:37:05):
Been the one of the worst defenses in the NFL
for two seasons, Dick, and they did nothing. They did
nothing personnel wise really to fix that. They did not
go out and get better players. So you got the
same players as a team that had a bad defense
for two years.

Speaker 20 (01:37:24):
Yeah, you know, I just you know, I know, its
just are they you know, they've got the first five
games they're gonna tell. But if they're gonna play against
Baltimore and Pittsburgh, it's gonna be bad. And you know
what I'm worried about. You don't lose games now, uh, Chad?
You know, uh in Cincinnati? Are they going to fall

(01:37:44):
into slump?

Speaker 16 (01:37:45):
Now?

Speaker 20 (01:37:45):
Now this is August States and I'm hoping for a playoff,
But are they going to go in the slump now?

Speaker 3 (01:37:50):
You think?

Speaker 2 (01:37:51):
I don't think that they still have nine? Right, as
long as they got nine, they're gonna be They're going
to be in every game.

Speaker 20 (01:37:58):
Yeah, yeah, so, but I don't know.

Speaker 13 (01:38:00):
Check.

Speaker 20 (01:38:01):
I'm just I just want to see him in the playoffs,
but not lose.

Speaker 10 (01:38:04):
But I don't know.

Speaker 20 (01:38:06):
I'm worried about the defense.

Speaker 2 (01:38:07):
Me too, Me too.

Speaker 20 (01:38:09):
I am, and you know it's just you know they
are they going to start zero one four, which you
hope not, I mean hoping they do. Boy, the Rats
have to win. What how many you think they can
win in August? Do you think they'll win a lot
in August?

Speaker 2 (01:38:24):
I mean they haven't gotten off to the greatest start.
So we're already we're all ready almost the third of
the way through August, and they haven't exactly set the
world on fire. They they they got to start winning
a lot of games because if not being four or
five games over five hundred finishing, you know, eighty four

(01:38:46):
and seventy eight, ain't ain't gonna do it, Bob, they't
gonna do it.

Speaker 20 (01:38:50):
Well, I'm going to pray that they do better. I'm
still going to root you know that.

Speaker 2 (01:38:54):
Heyk you Dick, appreciate it, man, you have a great weekend.

Speaker 3 (01:38:57):
Okay, Okay, bye bye.

Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
Unfortunately, Dick, I don't think God's gonna save them. I
think the problems are deeper than that, Bob and bowling
Green Bob.

Speaker 3 (01:39:08):
How are you, hey, Ted?

Speaker 9 (01:39:10):
I'm doing fine, man?

Speaker 2 (01:39:13):
What's going on?

Speaker 8 (01:39:15):
Well?

Speaker 16 (01:39:16):
I actually had some news for the folks in Cincinnati.
Know that they're really going to care a whole lot
about this, I don't think. But the Cardinals are doing
an interesting thing tonight that I don't know that it's
happened before, although I have to believe it has at
some point with some team. They are bringing in YadA
year Molina in uniform in the dugout tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:39:39):
Like active roster.

Speaker 16 (01:39:42):
No no, no, not as a player, just just as
a I guess a coach more or less. Okay, but
it's only for tonight and tomorrow night.

Speaker 2 (01:39:52):
Huh.

Speaker 16 (01:39:53):
My theory for a long time has been the next
manager the Cardinals will be Yauta here Molina.

Speaker 2 (01:39:59):
It probably should.

Speaker 16 (01:40:00):
I think he's earning that without a doubt. But I
just found it very interesting that their current manager was
more than okay with it, in fact thinks it's a
great idea.

Speaker 3 (01:40:12):
And uh, I just found that really interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:40:16):
Especially being in last place in the division or second
to last place in the division.

Speaker 10 (01:40:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 16 (01:40:22):
And you know what the thing is that they are
probably where most people thought they would.

Speaker 2 (01:40:29):
Be at this point. And I don't think anybody felt
it was going to be a great year for the Cardinals.

Speaker 16 (01:40:35):
No, no, they they went on the youth movement and
it's it's to some degree it's it's worked. I don't
think it's worked exactly how they wanted. And more importantly
than anything, they need to somehow find a new home
for Nolan Aaronato. But it's becoming increasingly harder to do that.

Speaker 2 (01:40:56):
Yeah, that's the hard part of investing in a guy
like that, because you are investing longer than you probably should,
so that you have a window in the you know,
in the now. When you sign the guy, like sign
up for six years, you probably got that three year
window to make something happen. And unfortunately they didn't. They didn't,

(01:41:21):
you know, win the big one or anything in that
that window. So now you have to figure out what
the next step is. And he doesn't and he's not
a guy with great trade value obviously at this point.

Speaker 16 (01:41:36):
Still a still a super field, but it just cannot
hit anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:41:41):
And uh, hey we got one of it. We just
we just we traded prospects for one of those Well.

Speaker 13 (01:41:46):
No, I know that.

Speaker 16 (01:41:47):
Yeah, and he's due twenty one million dollars the next
two years, yeah, each season. So but hey, Chad, I
do want to ask you or talk to about one
other thing. The uh Bob eleven sixty Bob, I used
to call frequently, and I actually did it an afternoon

(01:42:09):
with Don Burrows. Yes, and Don Don was Don was
a really good guy. And and I don't think I
didn't hear Mike mentioned this, but I believe Pete Rose
had an afternoon show on there. Not from Cincinnati, but yeah,

(01:42:35):
I think he I think he was in Vegas.

Speaker 2 (01:42:39):
Sounds about right, and.

Speaker 16 (01:42:41):
Yeah, it sure doesn't. But he said one of the things,
the guy the Bearcats just signed the basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:42:49):
Player Yordy or Jordie Rodriguez, depending on what dialect you prefer.
From his home location. That was at Spain. He's from Spain, Barcelona.
Did they either speak Spanish or they speak Catalan? Uh, Spanish,
it's Yordy Catalanese, Catalan, it is Jordi. We're learning about

(01:43:13):
learning Mexican.

Speaker 3 (01:43:14):
Then she she only speaks Spanish.

Speaker 13 (01:43:17):
So but.

Speaker 16 (01:43:20):
Uh, the last thing I was going to ask is, uh,
do you think legitimately that the Bearcats can finish in
the top half.

Speaker 4 (01:43:33):
Of the Big twelve this year?

Speaker 2 (01:43:34):
Yeah, I think the roster construction this year makes some
more sense. I think it's you know, I think the
past two years there have been in different ways, but
there have been too many repeating type parts, too many
guys that do the same thing well. But but don't
you know, it doesn't compliment each other very well. You know,

(01:43:56):
it's it's crazy. I think last year what kind of
really threw things off was bringing in Dylan Mitchell, who
you could probably correctly argue was their best player. But
bringing in Dylan Mitchell moved Simo's Lucasis up to the
four and Dan Skillings from the four to the three,
and Dan Skillings from the three to the two, and
both of those guys showed in the Big Twelve they

(01:44:18):
were not great at those positions. My main concern is
they still do not have kind of an alpha scoring
two guard. I'm really high on Boba Miller. I'm really
high on Mustapha cham So. I think, you know, the
four and five along with Jalen Haynes, I think they're

(01:44:41):
gonna be good down low, which has been a problem
the past couple of years. I think they've got some
good wings, Seanabayev, Jalen Celestine the transferred in from Baylor,
and then you have Dayde Thomas Kerkkrisa as the guards.
But who is that?

Speaker 4 (01:44:58):
You know?

Speaker 2 (01:44:59):
Three minutes two minutes left in a tight game at Kansas.
Who's that scoring guard that you just throw the ball
to and you don't have to run a set for
and you just say, go get me a bucket. Somebody's
gonna have to emerge in that role and they don't
have one.

Speaker 16 (01:45:15):
More importantly than that, they they needed toughness, which is
something they they got that we did not have.

Speaker 3 (01:45:22):
No, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 16 (01:45:23):
Maybe that to me was the biggest knock on last
year's team is there just wasn't anybody who was going
to put up a fight if things got difficult.

Speaker 2 (01:45:34):
Well, if you followed along my content after games last year,
one of the things I talked about all the time
was Okay, they had lost two in a row. I
was waiting to see this team come out and play
like their backs were against the wall. And instead they
just came out and sat down with their back against
the wall. They didn't fight their way out of the corner. Yeah,
they didn't fight their way out of the corner ever

(01:45:55):
last year. It was frustrating.

Speaker 3 (01:45:57):
Yeah, that was awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:45:59):
But I said to you, thanks, Bob, I do think
they've got some dogs this year. I think one I
think Bearcat fans are gonna love Buck Harris Sincere Harris,
the transfer from West Virginia is not a guy that
scores a lot, but he is going to fight you
tooth and nail, and uh. I think that's kind of
that old school bear Cat mentality that I think people

(01:46:19):
are going to really like. Uh, let's take another break.
More after this was that, let's get a break. Okay,
let's get a break more after this The Moeger Show,
hosted by Not Moeger, Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 5 (01:46:35):
Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty traffic.

Speaker 6 (01:46:40):
From the ec Health Traffic Center. Nearly sixty percent of
Americans waiting on an organ transplanter for multicultural communities given
the gift of life, become an organ donor or explore
a living donation. You seehealth dot com slash transplant seventy
five and no it's bound after seventy four. The accident
has a left lane blocked and a breakdown cleared. Now
seventy one northbound and Donald Ring Cross County Highway southbound

(01:47:03):
seventy five hopple to the Brent Spence Bridge is about
a ten minute trip and seventy five northbounds about seventy
three accident on the left shoulder by bricks sh.

Speaker 7 (01:47:11):
Remp with traffic.

Speaker 21 (01:47:12):
This report is sponsored. Wait, okay, now we're talking. I'm
definitely gonna be dancing to night.

Speaker 2 (01:47:36):
For sure. Maybe it's a Michael Jackson radio night. I
do Bobby Brown radio all the time. Young Maybe it's
a Michael Jackson radio night.

Speaker 9 (01:47:50):
No.

Speaker 2 (01:47:54):
Bread's in action six forty tonight in Pittsburgh. There's your
line up. Look in center field. Freedol batting first, McLean
hitting second at second, Daylight Cruise at short batting third,
Austin Hayes your DH batting fourth, Lux and left batting fifth,

(01:48:18):
Andrew Harr batting sixth at first, Tyler Stevenson behind the dish,
catching Frehley and right batting eighth, and Cabrian Hayes at third,
batting ninth. Chase Burns on the mound for the Reds
on the mound for the Pirates. Mitch Keller, this is
a danger zone for me because you've lost the last two. Again,

(01:48:43):
remember when I talked about it was important that they
needed to win that last game in Chicago on Wednesday
because now Andrew Abbott lost his last start the Reds
have lost to Paul Skens on Thursday. Now you get Keller,
who is four and oh in his last seven with
the three ninety five or three fifty five era. Losing

(01:49:10):
three in a row here and falling back to three
games over five hundred puts them in a position where
the math stops mathing. It doesn't completely put them out
of the running, but it puts them in a position
where the math becomes really hard to find a way
for this team to jump into that wild card spot

(01:49:34):
that right now the Mets, that last wild card spot
that the Mets are are holding. It means the Reds
would have to, you know, put themselves at a pace,
they'd have to to play ten over ten games over
five hundred in the final forty plus games, and the
odds of that just aren't great. This team has done

(01:49:57):
nothing to show you the long This winning streak of
the season is five. They haven't lost five in a row.
They've lost four in a row a couple times. But
this is a team that has lived in this window
five games under to five games over the entire season.

(01:50:18):
And if you're going to make a run, okay, you
got beat by Paul Skins. That's fine. Paul Skins is
a monster, probably gonna win the Cy Young It's probably
gonna win a bunch of Cy Youngs, probably gonna have
a whole shelf of cy Young's when his career is done.

(01:50:40):
But you got to come back and beat Mitch Keller.
A guy who started one to ten, A guy's the
anchor of Richard Skinner's fantasy baseball team. He's won four
in a row. He's pitching well. These Reds bats, they
are completely unpredictable game to game, a lot of hits. Yesterday,

(01:51:05):
didn't get any runs day before. Two hits through eight innings.
They get two hits in the ninth, they scored one run.
They scored one run in the last two games. If
you're Mitch Keller, you're locking your chops because you think
this team's team's struggling.

Speaker 3 (01:51:23):
Right now.

Speaker 2 (01:51:27):
Reds have got a reverse course minimum. They've got to
win two of these next three. If they lose this
series in Pittsburgh, the proverbial fork will be stuck in
the Cincinnati Reds. And I guess, if nothing else, we
can thank them for getting us to the first preseason game.

(01:51:49):
That's better than what a couple of years ago when
they got us to Mother's Day. That's in May. All right,
that's gonna wrap it up. We'll be back on Monday. Tony,
Oh no, I did it. I keep forgetting into the
Hall of Famer. I just you know, I just get
excited and I want to go home. Tony Pike up next.

(01:52:13):
Since that, he's ESPN to teen thirty.

Speaker 5 (01:52:17):
Cincinnati's ESPN fifteen thirty traffic.

Speaker 6 (01:52:22):
From the UC Health Traffic Center. Nearly sixty percent of
Americans waiting on an organ transplanter for multicultural community. He's
given the gift of life. Become an organ donor or
explorer living donation. You see health dot com slash transplant
seventy five north bound after seventy four accident is cleared
East seventh and Sycamore crash here clear it downtown now

(01:52:43):
on Red Bank between seventy one and Duck Creek. We're
moving better than accident out of the way. We have
the heavier pockets on seventy five southbound Happle to the
Brent Spence Bridge by Rick Shrimp with traffic.

Speaker 7 (01:52:54):
This report is sponsored by fab tech A.

Speaker 14 (01:52:57):
In fifteen thirty with the latest from Bengals training camp
brought to you by Skyline Shulie feeling good. It's Skyline
time on your official home of the Cincinnati Bengals usp
in fifteen thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:53:14):
All right, it's time camp report time, first preseason game addition,
my man Tony Pike Cincinnati Bearcats Hall of Famer.

Speaker 16 (01:53:27):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:53:27):
Wow, still hasn't sunk in. I mean I have to
say it every time I talk to you, just to
you know, get that.

Speaker 15 (01:53:33):
Is it really official yet? Until the actual induction that?
I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (01:53:35):
Like I heard Austin today called you a Hall of Famer,
like you're not. I don't think I'm there yet. You've
been in like you've been non inductee. You're an inductee,
not inducted, You're an inductee. Yeah, first quese is Charlie
possessed that?

Speaker 4 (01:53:50):
Now?

Speaker 15 (01:53:51):
I watched the video I did too earlier if you
if you missed it earlier today, Charlie was on with
I Believe Paul Danner Junior and Jay Morrison earlier in
the week. He was in a hotel of a podc
middle of the podcast and Charlie just starts staring off
into the distance, mentioned that the lock on the door
started moving. Other things happening in the doors open, the
doors bedroom door open, and the door to the hallway opened.

(01:54:13):
And Charlie is not one to like do bits right,
like he's not doing anything for clicks like this legitimately happened.

Speaker 2 (01:54:20):
He is sure he.

Speaker 15 (01:54:22):
Looked like he saw a ghost saw a ghost. Yes,
he looks like he looks like he saw a ghosts
and then his voice is gone. And now his voice,
his voice has been gone since the moment he saw
said ghost. I think he's possessed. We should be worried
about him. We should, Joe burwdon't see any ghost in
the pocket, Joe.

Speaker 2 (01:54:39):
The Bengals acted like they were ghosts on defense, but
we'll talk about the good in this segment's segment offense,
it's against the Eagles two and threes. You expect the
offense to go out and dominate. They went out and
they dominated. I'm interested in your take because my take
when I watched that, Chase Brown jumped off the page

(01:55:03):
to me.

Speaker 15 (01:55:04):
You know, the last report we did yesterday, I said
I wanted to see them dominate in a way that
made it seem like, yeah, that's what you're supposed to
do against the second and third team. And when we
talk about the defense, that's a different story. But last
night the offense, it's a lose lose situation because if
you don't do what you did last night, the response is, well,
you can't move the ball against the second team defense.

(01:55:26):
They did exactly what they had to do. I thought
they were the more physical team up front on the
line of scrimmage. With the offensive line. Lucas Patrick you
could say was struggle, but I thought the other four
offensive linemen were good. You saw everything you need to
see from Jamar Chase. You saw what you needed to
see from Joe Burrow. He's healthy, which is the biggest
thing going forward. But man, there's a different speed when
Chase Brown gets the ball. Yeah, whether it's in the

(01:55:48):
passing game or the running game, and whether it's inside
the tackles or outside. I just love what he brings
to this team. That played down the sideline. Yeah, a
little swing pass down the sideline.

Speaker 2 (01:55:57):
It was so valuable. I mean that gained them extra
what twelve fifteen yards? Just his ability to stay in
bounds and his explosiveness down the sideline.

Speaker 15 (01:56:05):
He was he was awesome. Fairchild, Yeah, I thought Fairchild
was solid. You know, I don't think anything that you
don't want anything to stand out that you notice, Like
the first third down, I noticed Lucas Patrick missed the block.
You notice the penalty fair Child wasn't noticeable, which is
a good thing for an offensive lineman.

Speaker 2 (01:56:23):
What else getting into the twos, I mean, Jamar Chase
is incredible. As soon as he caught that, yeah, you
knew it was gonna happen. It was like he had
that guy spun around. Yeah, as soon as he caught
it and turned, you knew, and he jagged in for
a touchdown.

Speaker 15 (01:56:36):
We've talked about Yoshi, We've talked about Jermaine Burton. I
thought Charlie Jones had a great night. How about Tanner
Hudson saying don't forget about me at tight end? He
played I think the whole game. Yeah, And I don't
want to say it's one preseason game, and I know
that historically Jake Browning doesn't play well in the preseason.
Jake Browning threw a pick last night and could have
owned three. I think des Ritter looked like the better

(01:56:58):
backup quarterback last night. And again that's starting. You don't
want to start into it early on. But des Rutter
was obviously brought in for a reason.

Speaker 2 (01:57:05):
One of the five winning his quarterbacks in all of
college football.

Speaker 15 (01:57:08):
History was I thought great last night for a guy
that still is trying to get his footing with a
new playbook and a new system. He found Jamoi Maids,
which was cool from a bearcat standpoint, but I thought
he had a better control from a quarterback standpoint of
the offense than what we saw from Jake Browning.

Speaker 2 (01:57:22):
All right, that'll do it for this segment, Tony, appreciate you,
and uh, I hope you have a great weekend. Thanks Ched.
All right, that's gonna do it. Been a good couple
of days. Unfortunately, didn't get the results from the Bengals,
the Reds or f C Cincinnati that we wanted to
last night. But the show must go on. That's gonna
wrap it up. This is The mo Egger Show, hosted

(01:57:43):
