Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's that time for talkbacks.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
Press the microphone and record your message or Austin in tone,
please keep it clean and don't be mean, and a
sprinkle sprinkled drip drips.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
It's that time for talkbacks.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
It's our favorite part of Sincy three sixty. So Austin, buddy,
play those palkbacks on your screen and please drive out
to sabotage.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
All right, here we go the Wednesday edition your talkbacks
thanks to Sincy shirts right here on ESPN fifteen thirty
Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Does your favorite NFL team have an ownership that runs
it like a small business, Well you better hope to
Christ that they have super share. Don't be kindis shure,
don't be pretty sure, don't be a little share. You
better be super sure that that.

Speaker 4 (00:56):
I truly can't believe my eyes in that video of
Tony dressed up as the Elf, he was touching a
public trash can wow.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
I don't know. I'm not a germ guy, eh, I
mean I like to keep things clean.

Speaker 5 (01:12):
I think the Bengals had a great year. They got
their starting safety to agree to take a pay cut.
Then they beat Shamar Stewart and his agent and forced
him to take the forfeiture provision and his rookie contract.
Only two members of the Ring of Honor called him
out for being a cheapskate, Boomer and Corey Dillon. And lastly,
he saved a much bunch of money by not having

(01:34):
to pay someone to remove the snow from the stadium.
It was a great year for Mike Brown and the Bengals.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
Tony quick question. I see your boy Jesus back on
the team, and it kind of shows how desperate Wes
is to get this thing going in the right direction,
which I understand, but I just can't see how Biggins
or Crona allowing someone back on the team after all

(02:04):
that's happened. I mean, what's your opinion.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
I think it's a I think it's a desperate play.
I don't think that Wes Miller has uh has many
other plays left in the playbook. That would be my thought.

Speaker 6 (02:16):
I now present to you the relationship between Bengals fans
and Mike Brown. Don't really think about it.

Speaker 7 (02:41):
Hey, Audie, I heard you yesterday that you really enjoying
your sisty head mask. People don't know what it is.
It's like a you know, something like a ski mask
or whatever that goes over your whole head and covers
your mouth. In fact, I think you should wear it
in in the studio to cover your mouth, and I

(03:02):
can stand behind you and tighten it down to your lips.

Speaker 8 (03:05):
Don't move.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
Wow. Wow today it's freezing in here.

Speaker 9 (03:11):
Even given the Bengals pathetic history of losing the backup quarterbacks,
if we do lose to Quinn Ewers, the whole thing
needs to be burnt down and restarted.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
That guy is a bum. Wow he did get that
Christmas tree to jump off side. The other week.

Speaker 10 (03:25):
You know, Joe Burrow or Zach Taylor was saying coaches
every game like it's his last. If he loses to
Quinn Yours, it might be his life could be.

Speaker 11 (03:33):
What anecdotal evidence is there to suggest Joe Burrow actually
likes playing for Zach Taylor?

Speaker 1 (03:40):
Other than Joe not.

Speaker 11 (03:42):
Trashing Zach publicly, we all just assume Joe likes Zach.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
How do we know that? Do you think Joe wants.

Speaker 11 (03:48):
To play the entirety of his career for Zach Taylor?
This is absurd, By the way, playing Joe these last
three weeks makes no sense whatsoever. You imagine he suffers
yet another catastrophic injury.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Yeah, that's.

Speaker 10 (04:06):
Players want to play and they're paid well to play.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Coaches should have the best interest for those players.

Speaker 10 (04:14):
I just like you heard Zach talk about it, you
heard Travis Kelsey talk about it, like, guys, aren't just
going to quit playing football? You cannot operate scared, you
just can't. I get where you're coming from, But that's
a reality every time he steps on the field, whether
it's week fifteen or week five.

Speaker 12 (04:35):
It's the Lord. I gotta start bench cut. Hello, lord,
do you like getting Christmas presents wrapped? Do you like
getting Christmas presents in gift bags? Or do you just
like getting gift cards?

Speaker 1 (04:50):
I legit could care less about At my age, I
could care less about gifts that I get. However it's gifted,
I don't care. I I thoroughly enjoy the the process
of gift giving. And when I give gifts, I wrapped him.
That's not the question. I would rather unwrap a gift. Okay,
it's a start bench cut. Well, you've really struggled with

(05:12):
this over the last couple of months. Start bench cut.
Give the options. I'll start the wrap. Okay, I'll cut
the bag, all right, or I'll bench the bag and
I'll cut the gift card. Okay, I agree, put the
gift card in the bag. Sta.

Speaker 10 (05:26):
It's easy, almost as easy as answer. You can start
bitch cut true.

Speaker 13 (05:32):
So turning awesome turning. This one's vainly for you, but awesome.
Feel free to answer instead of start bench cut. We're
going to do fire, keep, extend, Zach Taylor, Wes Miller,
Scott's gosh, I can't wait to listen.

Speaker 10 (05:52):
Oh my gosh, I'll go first, Go fire West, Miller, Yeah,
keep Zach Taylor, extends Scott Sanderfield.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Wow. At this point, it's probably fire West. Although I've
been banging the Zach Taylor drums for quite some time.
I've been I've been on the Zach Taylor thing for
longer than I have been on the West.

Speaker 10 (06:16):
So I'll fire Zach. Oh, it means you have to
keep her, extend West.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
I'll keep West because Jessel's back, and who knows how
they play with Jessel, And then I'll extend Sat. Good
day to be set seven wins Wing Wednesday.

Speaker 14 (06:29):
For those who celebrate Tony in Austin, we get some
hilarious antics this Bowl season. We get Mayo getting dumped
on a coach a pop top getting eaten alive. What
would we have for a Tony Pike three sixty Bowl?
Maybe Austin in a dunk take, maybe those goofy boys

(06:51):
that Halloween for our cheerleaders, or maybe something else. What
do you guys think.

Speaker 1 (06:58):
I'd throw Austin in the dunk tank? Yeah? I would
do that. Yeah, I got We're gonna have a lot
of water. Hey, just a couple of questions.

Speaker 9 (07:08):
First off, do you think it's better to put in
the backups and see what you got for next year
and lose out to improve a draft position? I think
if we win less three games, so you can pretty
much say goodbye to Caleb Downs or anybody being a
starter or a significant contributor. And also my second question

(07:28):
would be for Tony, do you have any eligibility left
that you could help out during the bowl game.

Speaker 1 (07:34):
I'm out of eligibility. I'm more of one that that
I would rather get the higher draft pick. Are you
one hundred percent out of eligibility? For sure? I would.
I would honestly have to look. I would have to look,
but I think I.

Speaker 15 (07:49):
Am Hey, guys, DJ east Side little onto the weather,
He's last couple of days. Not sure if it's doing
a missing my daily dose of Tony Pike's sinty three
sixty or if it's the bird flow the Browns family.
He has continually flipped the bird to the fans in
this city, and you know he sees were just another
sad chapter. I knew Zack's has way too comfortable in
his post game. He knows he's not going anywhere prom

(08:10):
with Zach Is. He couldn't coach a bunch of kids
open the cookie, Jarnis, it was already open.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
Wow.

Speaker 15 (08:14):
If conditions aren't perfect the entire game, he finds a
way to lose, not coach his way to a win.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Thanks for the lump of.

Speaker 16 (08:19):
Cole Mike, Hey, Austin, Hey Tony Paul from Cleves here
just wanted to say that I'm on board with Joe
Burrow starting the last three games of the season. And
everybody keeps looking to the future. But you know, the
way I look at it is he signed that contract.
If he's healthy, he's playing.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
That's the way you have to look at it.

Speaker 16 (08:40):
I mean, he could get hurt outside of football and
ruin his career the same way he could slip on
ice he could actually cut a finger off making food.
So I mean he signed a contract that said he
was in an NFL quarterback.

Speaker 10 (08:51):
Okay, I mean we're not gonna win the Marconi this year?
Does that mean we just don't work the last three
weeks of the season somewhat argue.

Speaker 8 (09:00):
Friends, and welcome to deep thoughts with Uncle Ronnie. Hello,
Wes is a mess, but fear not. The Jisel is back.
Oh and quinn Ewers better fear him. The Bengals defense
is sewers.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
Ooh, Bengals defense is sewers.

Speaker 17 (09:22):
Yeah, I'm surprised the offense played to a song ago
left over that much money in the first place. You know,
I know they're gonna throw to h and a thousand
times Sunday. Oh, do you think the Bengals defensive coordinator
and linebackers will be able to figure that out?

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Let's hope. So I'm not confident that they will figure
that out. Tua turned the ball over Tony Austin.

Speaker 18 (09:54):
He I from out healthy here. My toes are finally
deep frosted some Sundays game feeling better. Work has also
slowed down for me, so I can now call in
more leave a talk back really excited. I miss you all,
miss Tony, miss Ausmas, the Talk Beckers. You know what,
I don't miss my Twitter or x if you will.
I really don't use it that much more because all

(10:16):
it is is talk, signity and negativity, and my holiday
season is going to be better without it.

Speaker 1 (10:22):
Highly encourage Eleigen talk Sicity.

Speaker 10 (10:25):
It was nice to see Johnny on Sunday. I hadn't
seen him in a while. It's the toxicity. He's got
that back corner table at the Holy Grail lockdown.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
Yep, yep.

Speaker 18 (10:36):
And because it's been a minute, I'm a double dip unapologetically.
I used to be the freaking president. I get to
do what I want. Tony and Austin. In your family,
what was the food traditions for either Christmas Eve or Christmas?
Did you always have the same meal every year? Did
you always have the same breakfast every year? You know,

(10:58):
what are the traditions food wise? I would love to
hear that, And if other Talk Parkers want to.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Chime in, then great question. Uh. Growing up, it was
always I remember lasagna and now the thing I look
forward to most on Christmas Day is my Grandma's. She
makes like roast beef sandwiches. They're fantastic. And on Christmas Eve,
my in laws do spaghetti and meatballs interesting and it's fantastic,

(11:28):
except I found out one year Austin it wasn't actually meatballs.
It was like deer meat venison and not through me
for a big loop. You didn't know that whole time. Nope,
because you would never have eaten it. I I and
then and then manas like see, I told you it's
all on your head because I like this is good. Ye,
Now you don't eat it anymore? Do you? They make

(11:48):
separate meatballs. Venison is delicious they make they make separate meatballs.

Speaker 10 (11:53):
You are a child and you need some serious uh.
I hope you donate your brain to science when it's
it's all said and done, I really do. I don't
know that we had like traditions. I guess Christmas morning,
my dad would always make pancakes. He makes the best pancakes.
So I think the last couple Christmases or whatever, I've

(12:14):
been by myself, so I've like tried to make his
pancakes on Christmas morning. So I guess that's the only
one I can think of.

Speaker 19 (12:22):
Okay, Hey, guys, Steven Montgomery regarding the defensive end situation,
I would actually offer a sign a three or four
year extension, maybe forty five million, somewhere around the neighborhood
of fifteen per I think he's going to bring a
lot more than ten on the open market if you
look at his pressure win rate, his flexibility of position
on which side he plays on, and the one thing

(12:43):
you know about him is he's a high motor, relentless guy,
and he's come on each year when he's got more opportunities.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
Okay, I don't hate that at all.

Speaker 20 (12:53):
Okay, this is DJ you know, just listening to Zach's
conference there, you know he really went his tenures done
with the Bengals, which can't come soon enough.

Speaker 21 (13:04):
He really needs to go into politics where you can
just talk and talk and talk, not really say anything
and results don't matter. He is perfectly set up for
that because that is exactly what you get from him.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
Marvin was the same way. Yeah, a lot of coaches
are good politicians.

Speaker 22 (13:21):
Hey, guys, Jeff in India. I mean, that's the best
press conference I've heard in quite some time. And it's
time to turn up the heat on this damn guy.
If you've got a contract to twenty twenty seven. Then
you're gonna get these type of questions when you're four
and ten. It's ridiculous. Good on you, Trags and Rapine
and Kelsey and Ben Baby and Paul and everybody else.

(13:45):
Keep it coming, keep it up, do not stop.

Speaker 1 (13:48):
Oo dah. There you go.

Speaker 23 (13:51):
Reds Fano sus there Susan going from Great American Ballpark
with a very exciting two for one announcement for your
Cincinnati the Cincinnati Bengals. Cincinnati Bengals have fired Zach Taylor
and Duke Tobin, and Duke Tobin and Taylor have signed
with the Cincinnati Reds to play left field a designated
hitter in place of Kyle Schwarzer, who, of course the

(14:14):
Reds were unable to sign because they're cheap. For more information,
visit Reds dot com.

Speaker 1 (14:20):
Thank you. That would be tough for Duke Tobin if
you've got to talk to the media every day. Yep, yep.

Speaker 9 (14:25):
Haven't we ended the last three or four years on
Wayne streaks of eight, five, and seven. You know, wins
the last three years and it never carries over to
next year. The momentum never carries over again. He needs
to pick a different answer for that. Yep, And he's
on double secret probation. That's why he doesn't have an
answer for his contract.

Speaker 1 (14:41):
Yeah, let's do it again. I don't know, man. They
turned five last year into seven this year. The hottest
team down to stretch last year. But yeah, worked out
this year, So let's do it again, man, meaningless football.

Speaker 11 (14:53):
I heard Mike in La earlier say that his old
man was Ambi Dexters.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Wow, man, that's awesome. I would give my right arm
to be ambidextrous. Well, then you couldn't be ambidextrous. This
thing on blue all right? Very good? A break one
segment or two today. I'm thinking we're gonna do two. Okay,

(15:20):
two quicker segments. Chad Brendle kicks off our number three.
Possibly some read and react still in our number three?
All ahead? In a touch? Not a touch? What's the
word I'm thinking of. I don't know what's gonna do
at the end of the show, quick hits. Yeah, but
he's gonna I could be having a stroke on long air. Yeah,

(15:41):
I mean last night, what do you? I don't know
what I'm looking for. He's gonna come in quickly and
talk to us and then leave. When is this a
quick hits? Yeah? What what word am I looking for.

Speaker 10 (15:53):
At the end of the show. Yes, he's going to
stop by, Sure, stop in. We'll go a stop in.
He's going to touch base, touch base? Is that what
you were going for?

Speaker 1 (16:02):
He's going to touch base with us. We'll take a
break mercifully thanks to Cincey. Starts at sinty thirty sixty

The Burden

The Burden

The Burden is a documentary series that takes listeners into the hidden places where justice is done (and undone). It dives deep into the lives of heroes and villains. And it focuses a spotlight on those who triumph even when the odds are against them. Season 5 - The Burden: Death & Deceit in Alliance On April Fools Day 1999, 26-year-old Yvonne Layne was found murdered in her Alliance, Ohio home. David Thorne, her ex-boyfriend and father of one of her children, was instantly a suspect. Another young man admitted to the murder, and David breathed a sigh of relief, until the confessed murderer fingered David; “He paid me to do it.” David was sentenced to life without parole. Two decades later, Pulitzer winner and podcast host, Maggie Freleng (Bone Valley Season 3: Graves County, Wrongful Conviction, Suave) launched a “live” investigation into David's conviction alongside Jason Baldwin (himself wrongfully convicted as a member of the West Memphis Three). Maggie had come to believe that the entire investigation of David was botched by the tiny local police department, or worse, covered up the real killer. Was Maggie correct? Was David’s claim of innocence credible? In Death and Deceit in Alliance, Maggie recounts the case that launched her career, and ultimately, “broke” her.” The results will shock the listener and reduce Maggie to tears and self-doubt. This is not your typical wrongful conviction story. In fact, it turns the genre on its head. It asks the question: What if our champions are foolish? Season 4 - The Burden: Get the Money and Run “Trying to murder my father, this was the thing that put me on the path.” That’s Joe Loya and that path was bank robbery. Bank, bank, bank, bank, bank. In season 4 of The Burden: Get the Money and Run, we hear from Joe who was once the most prolific bank robber in Southern California, and beyond. He used disguises, body doubles, proxies. He leaped over counters, grabbed the money and ran. Even as the FBI was closing in. It was a showdown between a daring bank robber, and a patient FBI agent. Joe was no ordinary bank robber. He was bright, articulate, charismatic, and driven by a dark rage that he summoned up at will. In seven episodes, Joe tells all: the what, the how… and the why. Including why he tried to murder his father. Season 3 - The Burden: Avenger Miriam Lewin is one of Argentina’s leading journalists today. At 19 years old, she was kidnapped off the streets of Buenos Aires for her political activism and thrown into a concentration camp. Thousands of her fellow inmates were executed, tossed alive from a cargo plane into the ocean. Miriam, along with a handful of others, will survive the camp. Then as a journalist, she will wage a decades long campaign to bring her tormentors to justice. Avenger is about one woman’s triumphant battle against unbelievable odds to survive torture, claim justice for the crimes done against her and others like her, and change the future of her country. Season 2 - The Burden: Empire on Blood Empire on Blood is set in the Bronx, NY, in the early 90s, when two young drug dealers ruled an intersection known as “The Corner on Blood.” The boss, Calvin Buari, lived large. He and a protege swore they would build an empire on blood. Then the relationship frayed and the protege accused Calvin of a double homicide which he claimed he didn’t do. But did he? Award-winning journalist Steve Fishman spent seven years to answer that question. This is the story of one man’s last chance to overturn his life sentence. He may prevail, but someone’s gotta pay. The Burden: Empire on Blood is the director’s cut of the true crime classic which reached #1 on the charts when it was first released half a dozen years ago. Season 1 - The Burden In the 1990s, Detective Louis N. Scarcella was legendary. In a city overrun by violent crime, he cracked the toughest cases and put away the worst criminals. “The Hulk” was his nickname. Then the story changed. Scarcella ran into a group of convicted murderers who all say they are innocent. They turned themselves into jailhouse-lawyers and in prison founded a lway firm. When they realized Scarcella helped put many of them away, they set their sights on taking him down. And with the help of a NY Times reporter they have a chance. For years, Scarcella insisted he did nothing wrong. But that’s all he’d say. Until we tracked Scarcella to a sauna in a Russian bathhouse, where he started to talk..and talk and talk. “The guilty have gone free,” he whispered. And then agreed to take us into the belly of the beast. Welcome to The Burden.
