Scott Saderfield audio Scott Saderfield and in the next couple

noon kickoff happening Saturday afternoon. That will tie over to

(01:10):
Saturday night, an eight pm start for the Bearcats against
the BYU Cougar's. You'll hear from head coach Scott Saderfield.
We've got some audio that we've picked out from what
Zach Taylor had to say in his Monday afternoon press
conference yesterday. We'll talk all things Bengals. We'll talk from
Trey Hendrickson, We'll talk some Cam Taylor Britt, perhaps from

(01:32):
Jermaine Burton, and of course we will talk more Jamar
Chase as well. I think it's come to a point
where we at least have to have a discussion about
what's going on with Hunter Green. And when I say
what's going on with Hunter Green, I mean the I

(01:54):
would say whispers, the rumblings that there are some within
the organization that may be unhappy with Hunter Green. That
was the topic of conversation on a very recent article
with the Cincinnati Reds On Sports Illustrated, Greg Kufner wrote
an article some member of the Reds organization may be
unhappy with Hunter Green, goes on to talk about Hunter

(02:16):
Green trade Rumors continue to swirl. Would the Reds trade him?
We'll discuss that at some point this afternoon. Also tonight,
college basketball slate is a good one. Xavier is going
to play host to Old Dominion at the Centas Center.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Louisville.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
U See's opponent on Friday night is up to number
six in the college basketball rankings, and we have a
pair of top twenty five matchups tonight. Duke takes on
Kansas and the twelfth rank Kentucky Wildcats take on Tom
Izzo's Michigan State Spartans. We will talk all things college
basketball as well. Let's get you up to speak with

(02:57):
everything else going on in the sports world, and we'll
take your phone calls along the way. Five one, three, seven, four, nine,
fifteen thirty Monday Night Football. Last night, Austin, Monday Night Football.
It was an impressive one for the Dallas Cowboys. Is
there a correlation that Logan Wilson comes to the Cowboys

(03:17):
and all of a sudden that defense looked okay?

Speaker 2 (03:20):
I don't know that Logan Wilson is the correlation, but
Quinn Williams looked pretty damn good. Williams wasn't bad. The
Raiders also continue to have struggles with their offensive line,
and I saw a little bit of that last night
as well. Dak Prescott looked good last night. Dak Prescott
looked George Pickens looked good last night. Now, George Pickens
and Ceedee Lamb both didn't participate in this opening drive

(03:43):
for the Cowboys, and what appeared to be a coach's
decision slash disciplinary something. Brian Schottenheimer was then pretty buddy
buddy with him on the sideline after that. So not
sure what to make of that. But the Cowboys, you know,
they look better, and they have a big game coming
up against Philadelphia team They're able to beat Philadelphia and

(04:05):
then right back in it. You know, I don't think
it's crazy to think that with a marginally better defense,
the Dallas Cowboys could make some noise in the NF.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
They added Quinn Williams, they added Logan Wilson. They also
the George Pickens move makes a lot more. George Pickens
is playing extremely well. That seems to be a good
fit alongside Ceed Lamb, Jake Ferguson. That's a good offense.
That is a good offense in Dallas. They round off
the uh what is it? Week eleven of the NFL

(04:35):
slate last night with a big win over the Las
Vegas Raiders, who by the way, fall to two and
eight on the season. I expected a little more from
the Raiders, expected a little more from Pete Carroll.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Especially when you consider Week one they beat the New
England Patriots in New England. Yeah, kind of hard to believe. Yep.

Speaker 3 (04:55):
How about this speaking hard to believe? We keep having
these NFL plays is getting their homes broken into.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
What's up with this? It's the same.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Situation we've been dealing with for a long time. Shaud
Door Sanders had his home broken into during his NFL debut.
In the last year or so, burglaries have taken place
at the homes of Luka Doncik, Joe Burrow, Pat Mahomes,
Travis Kelcey, Shador Sanders.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
We'd be better with this, isn't there. I want to
say there was another NBA guy too, maybe a couple
of NBA guys. It's just the unfortunate reality of the
world in which we live. When people know where you're
gonna be and you're gonna be away, and if you
do anything to make your address or your whereabouts known, yeah,
you become a target for some of these people.

Speaker 3 (05:47):
True, there is a new coach in place in college football,
James Franklin has agreed to become the new head coach
of the Virginia Tech Hokies.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
You can't lose any big games if you don't play
in any big games.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
Moiger asked me yesterday when we talked about this news
a little bit. Do you think the sports world will
come together and rejoice when he loses games at Virginia
Tech like the sports world did when he lost games
at Penn State.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
No, because Virginia Tech is irrelevant. Penn State was relevant
because of the years of Joe Paterno, and then they
became a punching bag, and deservedly so for the Paterno
and Jerry Sandusky situation where people rooted against them and
wanted that program to fail. And so when they rose

(06:37):
back to national prominence, and there was always this this
arrogance about Penn State that I perceived that they thought
they were a little bit bigger and better and more
important than they really were. Sure, and so teams would
revel in the losses of Penn State, and yeah, it was.
It was a beautiful day. I think James Franklin's a

(06:57):
good guy. I just never really rooted for him to win. Sure,
And I think a lot of people feel that way
about Penn State because of their past crimes. Yeah, how
about And I hope that's how people feel. And I
know that's how people feel about Ohio State. People think
they're arrogant, root against them, want them to lose. Bama
is that same way, Michigan is that same way. It's

(07:19):
that's you know, one of the foundational pieces of college
football is hate watching against other people. It is it is.
How about this?

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Speaking of the college football coaching carousel, Old Miss has
handed Lane Kiffen an ultimatum. Oh boy, Now he is
a rumored candidate of LSU and Florida openings, and so
Old Miss came back and said, here you go, buddy,
You're gonna have to decide on your future by November
twenty eighth for the Egg Bowl. Do you do you

(07:47):
agree with this from Old Miss? Because here's a team
at Old Miss. They are in the thick of the
college football playoff race, They're trying to play for a
national title, and yet Lane Kiffin is openly being courted
by touple schools right now. Do you agree with Old
Miss coming in and saying, hey, We're gonna give you
an ultimatum here, you gotta let us know by this date.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Yeah, this is one of the best seasons in ole
Miss football. Lane Kiffin is one of the highest paid
coaches in college football. He's obviously done a lot of
good things here, and it's embarrassing for them, insulting for them,
insulting for the players on the team to have Lane
Kiffin gallivanting around to other SEC schools in the midst

(08:32):
of a season in which you're expected to go to
the college football Playoff and compete for a national championship.
Old Miss has treated Lane Kiffin really well, treated his
family really well, paid him handsomely. So they have the
right to say, hey, man, you have a month to
figure this out, because we got to get a jump
start on what we're gonna do if you decide to leave,

(08:54):
and we're not going to be dealing with this mess
in the postseason. Yeah. And I think it's kind of
similar to we're right around the time where the portal
opens up, right, yes, so makes other players have to
make that decision, and other players have already entered the portal,
So it's kind of aligning with that. It's like Okay,
we need to figure out what our coach is going
to do. Yeah, a local wise, hope, I hope he

(09:16):
doesn't leave. I too, it'll be good for college football
to have him stay. I think it would be obviously,
like it's entertaining if he goes somewhere else. But I've
been enamored by his role in the success of Old Miss.
I think he's a fascinating end. It's also very open.
He's brought a level of relevance to Old Miss that

(09:38):
maybe they haven't had in a while. I think it
would be fun if he was the head coach of
the New York Giants, but I don't think that's going
to happen. But I think it's totally fair for Old
Miss to say, hey man, figure it out.

Speaker 3 (09:51):
A couple other injury notes, Justice Haynes, the running back
for Michigan, is likely out for the rest of the
regular season, which means that at Cincinnati and Mohler product
Jordan Marshall is in the top running back slot now.
He moved into that role, but left Saturday's game against
Northwestern with the shoulder injury. The X rayce came back clean,
so he's day to day, but that would mean that

(10:13):
Mohler's Jordan Marshall would now be the lead back for
the Michigan Wolverines. And speaking of injury news, Tom Pella
Sero reporting earlier today that Aaron Rodgers has underwent further
test that confirmed he won't need surgery on his fractured
left wrist. Rogers is pushing to play Sunday at Chicago,
but doctors must clear him and the status is still
to be determined.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
I like Aaron Rodgers. I like the rivalry that he
has with the Chicago Bears. I would not be rooting
for the Pittsburgh Steelers, but I would like to see
him play Chicago in Chicago, maybe the last time. Yeah,
I would be interested to see that. I hope that
he is able to play, and also I don't know

(10:55):
that he gives them the best chance to win, So
this part, I don't know. It might actually be, you know,
both those things being a positive. Yeah. By the way,
you mentioned high school football, you mentioned Mohler. Have you
seen this grassroots campaign continuing to garner strength led by
one of our own rocky boymen. Yeah, try to get
this game between Seinex and Elder to be played at

(11:18):
pay Corp Stadium. Oh HSAA, figure it out. That's not
a bright organization.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Listen, and what we're learning as well, like the tickets
went on sale like during school hours, so a lot
of I'm hearing a lot of the students missed out
on getting tickets as well because it's sold out an
under an hour, so now students aren't able to get
their tickets. Families have been struggling to get their tickets.
According to Rocky Boyman, folks that he's talked to at
the Bengals and Hamilton County are on board to put

(11:45):
it at pay Corps. He says, give the fans an
opportunity to witness an epic game, lots more money made,
everybody wins.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
Doesn't seem like the OHSAA is going to budge on this,
which is again not a surprise that organization is.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
And we did find out more or that there is
something along the lines of recruiting that prevented from being
at Knippert which is another stupid rule.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Agree because there are no rules in college football. Non,
why does it matter if there are games being played there? Like,
it's just it's Scott Sanderfield was at the same next
game last week. Yep, he was on the sideline's Okay,
what's the difference. I don't understand. It's not like if

(12:27):
that game, especially now with the Shakeley Athletic Center that
you see has that's where football is. Their operations are
all in there, correct, It's not like the locker room
or locker rooms at Nippert Stadium or they're using the
facility or everything. That's a huge recruiting advantage. I don't
understand that at all. Also, most of those kids have

(12:47):
been a Nippert at one point in their life. I
don't understand.

Speaker 3 (12:50):
Yeah, taking away from the kids more than anything, for
a chance to play a really cool a really cool atmosphere.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
It's all about the game.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
I hope something changes. I don't see it changing because
I already Tuesday operates.

Speaker 4 (13:05):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (13:05):
The Major League Baseball Hall of Fame ballot was released yesterday.
Cole Hamils, Ryan Bron Matt Kemp among twelve newcomers on
the Hall of Fame ballot, and Carlos Beltron heads fifteen
holdovers after falling nineteen votes shy in twenty twenty five.
Any of these names do anything for you, Howie Kendrick,

(13:26):
Daniel Murphy, Rick Porcello, Shin Shu Chew Shin, Sue Chew,
Edwin En Carnacion, Geo Gonzalez, Alex Gordon, Nick Markakis, Hunter Pence, anyone, anyone.

Speaker 2 (13:41):
I've looked at this. I've been looking at this list.
I don't know that there's a lot on there, Yeah,
that I consider Hall of famer. I think a Rod
and many are Ryan Bron. Where do you stand on No,
Ryan Bron. I don't like Ryan Bron now. I was
about to say Ryan Bron cheated, which he did, min
Sooad Manny and Alex Uh, what do you like? How
do you feel about the steroid guys? Put him in? Yeah,

(14:03):
put him in. I do think it's an important chapter
in baseball's history. I also thought in his prime, Carlos
Beltron was a dog. I think of this list that
I'm looking at, I think Carlos Beltron, Manny Ramirez, Alex Rodriguez.
I think you can make the case for Andrew Jones,
Cole Hamil's, maybe Jimmy Rollins four time. Other than that,

(14:26):
I don't know if there's if those other guys are
Hall of Famers. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Hamils was a four time All Star, three four three
E R a MVP of the two thousand and eight
NL Championship Series won a World Series. I could see
maybe that, but the other's not so much. I would
have to look at the numbers on David Wright. I
feel like his numbers Captain America might surprise me. Captain

(14:50):
America Shinzu Chu should be in for his one season
with the Reds unbelievable season. Historical says that might be
enough to get him into the Reds Hall of Fame.
I'd think so. Josh Hamilton, Josh Hamilton's runner shoind Sue Chew.

Speaker 2 (15:04):
I remember it was it opening day when Hamilton came
in as a defensive replacement late in the game, and
you would have thought that the World Series was happening
when he made his return to baseball at the Reds.

Speaker 3 (15:16):
Yes, good for him. I like the story of Josh Hamilton.
Let's take a break, let's come back, Let's get into
the thick of it. We'll take some phone calls along
the way. Five, one, three, seven, four, nine, fifteen thirty.
Let's react to a little bit of what Zach Taylor
had to say yesterday. We'll do that when we return.
ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati Sports station thanks to Skyline Chili.

Speaker 1 (15:36):
Minattie brought to you by Postman Law on ESPN fifteen thirty,
the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
All right, welcome back Football NATI since he three to
sixty thanks to Skyline Chili. We'll get to your phone
calls in the next segment. For now, let's react a
little bit to what Zach Taylor had to say yesterday Austin.
There was an interaction with our guy Mike Petralia that
a lot of people have taken note of. You see
the video surfacing in a lot of different places.

Speaker 2 (16:07):
Let's play the clip.

Speaker 3 (16:08):
This is our own version of Thursday's Read and React,
just a little different of what Zach Taylor had to
say yesterday. Let's play the interaction between Mike Petraley and
Zach Taylor.

Speaker 5 (16:18):
Zack, if you had conversations with Jamar about what happened.

Speaker 6 (16:21):
Yesterday in Pittsburgh, I have to myself you.

Speaker 5 (16:23):
Are you concerned about the image of the organization really
unlick criticism nationally And I'm just curious what the conversations
are like internally that you have all the time with
Mike and Katie and Troy on on matters like that.

Speaker 7 (16:40):
Well, first of all, I've always been impressed with how
Jama has handled himself because he is in a lot
of these situations where he's got a target as a
test top player. He gets a lot of respect that way,
and so guys try to do a lot of things
to get his attention and get him off his game.
And I've always thought it was unbelievable Always handled himself
in some really high pressure emotional decisions. Obviously, what happened

(17:04):
just crossed my line. We can't have that, and I
know he'll own up to that. But beyond that, I've
I've always had up here and praise Jamorrow because he's
he's one of the best leaders we've got. The way
he goes about everything, he plays with the tumbled emotion,
he plays with a ton of leadership. Our guys respond
to that, and I've always appreciated Always handled himself.

Speaker 8 (17:22):
I guess the reason I ask you is because you're
really the only one you have to talk to a
new organization that can reflect how the organization feels after
a really unfortunate, ugly moment like yesterday.

Speaker 6 (17:34):
Yeah, and how do you feel? How do they feel?

Speaker 9 (17:37):
Well?

Speaker 7 (17:38):
Again, I just Jamar is one of my favorite Probably
love how this guy handles everything that he's been a
part of. So making one mistake doesn't disregard everything this
guy's done that's been positive for us.

Speaker 6 (17:50):
And so I think that's what you're asking. I really
don't know what you're asking.

Speaker 7 (17:53):
But again, I can't say enough positive things about Jamar
and think about the amount of situations people tried to
put him in in the way that he's always responded.
We're not all perfect. We're going to make a mistake
here and there. But I stand by Jamara, and I
know is an emotional situation. I know there's a lot
of things going on there that lead to things like that,

(18:14):
and again, we'll just continue to move forward.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
So I see what's happening here, and I'll give Mike
Petralli your credit because he's asking what everyone's been talking about.
And I think Zach new to Austin it wasn't about
Jamar Chase, and I thought what Jamar Chase said multiple
times about Jamar Chase was very impressive and resounding to
how he feels and how so many feel about Jamar Chase.

(18:40):
The side of it, though, that Trags is trying to
get out. I believe is that we don't get to
hear from anyone else in the organization, didn't get to
hear during the bye week. Now this incident happens, there's
a perception there are people talking about the Cincinnati Bengals,
but we don't get to hear from anyone else. So
what are those other folks talking about? What are they saying?
Zach knows what's happening. I just don't think Zach can

(19:01):
talk about what's happening. But I do appreciate the question
for Mike Petralia.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
Yeah, I think anytime you can try to get some
sort of understanding about what the front office and ownership
is thinking or there's a major reacting, then I think
we should always search for that. We often only see
it in statements when a player is released or traded
or something along those lines. Now I understand Traggs is

(19:28):
asking that question knowing that Zach Taylor's not going to
speak on behalf of Duke or Mike or Katie or Troy.
He's never done that, he never will do that. But
I do think it's a fair question to say, what
have the internal conversation's been like? Considering the way that
the organization is currently being viewed because the Bengals are
in the eye of the national media. They have been

(19:50):
for the last several months with the Higgins contract and
Chase and Hendrickson and all of it. Injury and Yeah,
this belief now by some We talked about it a
couple weeks ago that the Bengals could soon be facing
trade demands from Joe Burrow. We all think that's bs,
but there is a curiosity to know what do those
people think and how are they reacting to it.

Speaker 10 (20:13):
Now.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
I don't know that he's ever going to get that answer.
I appreciate that he asked the question. I know Zach
completely dodged it, and Zach knows exactly what he's asking. However,
I will say this, I also I've listened to that
answer probably four or five times now. I do think
there's a possibility that Zach's answer is reflective of what
they would say. We've talked a lot about, you know,

(20:35):
Mike Brown and the Brown family being willing to give
second chances. Guys like Chris Henry, guys like vontez Perfect,
guys like pac Man Jones that have gotten multiple opportunities
over and over and over again, and I think they
probably view it the same way Zach articulated it, which
is because Jamar Chase made one mistake doesn't warrant us

(20:59):
reacting overreacting to it. He understands he's been about all
the right things. He screwed up one time. That doesn't
mean that he should be crucified for it. And maybe
that's what I thought.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
I think I thought it was more of, you know,
just the season and how it's unfolded. We don't get
a chance to talk or hear from anyone, and it
is Zach up there a lot of times, and it
was him again yesterday having to answer to those questions.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
I've been thinking about this too, because you know, well
we can get to it at the end of this segment,
I thought, Zach on the tackling, Yes, Zach, we talked a.

Speaker 11 (21:35):
Lot about tackling here this year. How concerned you when.

Speaker 12 (21:38):
You watch yesterday's tape and some of the effort in
some of the tackles and some of the that aspect
of it beyond anything else.

Speaker 2 (21:46):
Yeah, I do.

Speaker 7 (21:47):
I understand some of it looks looks bad. You can't
run from that. And the hard part was there were
some situations. We were great on first and second down.
We got him into the situations we wanted, you know, second, long,
third and long, and then you just got to get
a guy down in space, and we didn't do a
good enough job of that.

Speaker 6 (22:03):
So I can't say a lot more about it.

Speaker 7 (22:05):
We've we've talked about it, We talked about it industry,
we work on it. We do every technique we can
possibly do in the game. We just gotta we got
to let it happen, and it hasn't happened on a
consistent basis. There were some examples just to that were
really good, you know, some that maybe hadn't shown up
as much, but I thought there were some really good ones.
One from JV stands up on the Perimeter, Jordan Battle,
dax Hill came Table, Britt fitting up, you know, pin

(22:27):
in the hips. So there were some that I thought
were really good and then some obviously where we've got
to be better to get us off the field on
some critical moments.

Speaker 2 (22:34):
And said, you know, you don't anticipate any personality tackling.
Why why why is that.

Speaker 11 (22:39):
Not an answer?

Speaker 6 (22:40):
Well, tackling is not the only thing we have to
factor in.

Speaker 7 (22:42):
We have to factor in knowledge of the defense and
ability to get lined up and play coverages and respond
to the run game.

Speaker 6 (22:48):
And so there's more than just tackling.

Speaker 7 (22:50):
It's frustrating when tackling is an issue, but there's a
lot more that goes into whether player players not. We
factor in everything, and we talk about these things every
week on whether we want to make a personal.

Speaker 6 (22:59):
Decision or not.

Speaker 7 (23:00):
But there's just more that's got a factor into it
than one element of his game. And there are times,
I'm sure there's been times where there's been one element
that's been a deciding factor on whether guys players or not.
But I think in some of these cases that you're
probably bringing up, there's more to it that plays into it,
and we have to make a sound decision. We're not
afraid to make a decision if we think that there's
a better way to approach it. If we don't know

(23:21):
that there's a better way to necessarily approach something, then
we'll keep trying to fix the ones with the guys
we got when it comes to all.

Speaker 3 (23:27):
Right, so very I think this is Zach going in
a little more detail. He was asked after the game
about personnel changes. He shot it down immediately. This is
just peeling back the curtain a little bit into It's
more than just can we substitute a guy in that
can tackle better? It's do they fit in the system?
Do they know their responsibility to the other calls their checks?
Are they getting everyone else lined up? Are they lined
up correctly? There's a lot that goes into it, and

(23:48):
a lot of tackling is effort, but the end of
the day, that means the effort hasn't been good enough.
Because the tackling hasn't been good enough, this is a
terrible tackling team at this point. Are we passed the
whole Well, it's more than that. Are we ready to
start seeing other guys get opportunities for this defense?

Speaker 10 (24:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (24:06):
I think this could be the point in which it changes,
because now the season is over, Like there really is
no path unless you went out and get a lot
of help, and nobody expects that to happen. But basically,
to me, that translation was PJ. Jewles and Tyson Anderson
and those guys they don't know the playbook well enough.

(24:26):
They don't know where to get lined up. We don't
have faith in their ability to understand the defense. So
we aren't playing them, and so now number one, that's
an indictment on them. That's how I perceived that message.
And number two, now that we've reached the point where
the season is basically over, are you willing to take
more chances with those guys? And I also appreciated that

(24:47):
he acknowledged it looks bad, the effort looks bad, and
there's only so much we can do about that.

Speaker 3 (24:52):
Yeah, there's only so many players on the roster. There's
only so many guys you can get in there. Lastly,
on the the criticism around what's going on with this team.

Speaker 2 (25:04):
Zach, do you get a sense of the frustration around
the city from fans kind of as the season kind
of goes the way it does in the last couple
of years, how they've went, you get a sense of
kind of frustration that that kind of.

Speaker 7 (25:14):
I'm not oblivious. I have to isolate myself. I have
to that's the only way I can function. And I
think that's understandable. But you also, again, it's no one
puts more pressure on us than I do on myself
to get it right.

Speaker 6 (25:27):
And so.

Speaker 7 (25:29):
I'm not oblivious to frustration. And I know what our
record is and so that would have lead to that,
And I don't blame anybody for feeling that way. It's
it's our job as a as an NFL team to
go find wins and create energy and joy in this
fan base and our organization, in our locker room, coaching staff.

Speaker 6 (25:45):
Winning.

Speaker 7 (25:46):
Winning helps everybody do their job the next day, the
next week, and I want nothing more than that. And
I know if we can string together some wins, we'll
start to build build, build some some optimism. But but
first we've got to show a step in the right direction.

Speaker 6 (26:02):
I'm doing that. So until we do that, I understand
how difficult it is, all.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
Right, I just that to me is important because it's
at least a coach now that's looking this square in
the eye of Yeah. I understand what's going on. I
understand the voices that are out there. I understand the
angst among fans, and yes, we have to win games.
I think there's an emphasis on that now. It does
put more pressure on to win, but at least he's

(26:27):
not up there acting completely blind to the fact of
the criticism that is now surrounding this organization.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
I have to isolate myself. That's the only way I
can function This to me goes back to the first
answer and the first question about how we don't hear
from anyone else. We don't hear from Duke Tobin. Now
I can. I've watched enough of Zach Taylor and seen
him and been around him and heard enough to feel

(26:54):
pretty confident in the character and the person that is
Zach Taylor. I believe he's a good man. I think
he's a good leader. I think he's a good football coach.
I've said that many times, and I believe more than anything,
he's a stand up, high character individual. When I see
that guys like Duke Tobin don't speak, that then leads

(27:15):
me to question their character. I don't know anything about
Duke Tobin, don't know anything about I'd literally know nothing
about that guy other than who his father is and
what his job has been over the last twenty years.
And if it were me in that situation, if I
were in the shoes of Duke Tobin, and this guy
that I work with every single day has to answer

(27:37):
for my transgressions and is having to isolate himself and
I'm sure in ways his family so that he can function.
And I don't do anything to put myself out there
to say hey, here, I'll talk, I'll explain, here's my
side of things, here's what we're going through as an organization.
That to me is a reflection of poor character. I

(28:00):
don't know him. I don't know what his character's like,
know nothing about Duke Tobin. He's done nothing to really
prove to me that he is this real good stand
up guy. But to me, that's like an example of
being a bad teammate. Duke Tobin not not willing to
raise his hand and say, hey, let me answer some
of these tough I'm responsible for this as well. And

(28:21):
you know that just the more I think about it,
the more it doesn't sit right with me. And maybe
my opinion would be different if I heard from Duke frequently.
I don't know, especially when things go as poorly as
they have, and you know, you could could be listening
to this and saying, well, you should hold the owners
to the same standard, and to an extent I do. However,
I will say there's not a lot of owners across

(28:42):
the NFL to talk. That's not that common. But players,
player personnel directors, gms, those people are talking very frequently.

Speaker 3 (28:50):
Especially on a bye week, especially when things are going
the way in which it has. Someone has to stand
up there and help Zach Taylor. It's hard because I
listened that and I genuinely do think Zach Taylor is
a great person, and I think Zach Taylor has done
good things here. I don't allow that to change the
fact that I don't think he should be the head

(29:11):
coach after this season.

Speaker 2 (29:13):
Sure, that's fair, but it's.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Almost like he's he's doing this with one hand tied
behind his back.

Speaker 2 (29:19):
Yeah, And that's the hard part.

Speaker 3 (29:20):
That's what I think pulls at you a little bit
because it's not a fair situation what he's being asked
to do.

Speaker 2 (29:26):
And that's also what makes firing him complicated, because, yeah,
you have a patient ownership group, you have an elite quarterback,
and you have finances that you're able to spend moving
forward when it comes to the cap, the salary cap
that make the job attractive. But you are a punching

(29:47):
bag for the organization. No one has your back in
the media, nobody. Yeah, and you are dealing with a
style of business that some would say requires you to
have one hand tied behind your back. And so if
that's the case, are you ever going to be able
to get the best candidate to coach this team. Yeah,

(30:11):
and the affair, and that's what makes a question, that's
what makes it difficult about to me, at least, flip
flopping on whether Zach should be fired or not.

Speaker 3 (30:18):
Yeah, we'll take a break, we'll come back. We'll hear
from you. Five one, three, seven, four nine, fifteen thirty
is this just gets rolling Cinty three to sixty on
the Home of the Bengals, ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 2 (30:29):
Thanks to Skyline Chile.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
You've been listening to Football in the NATI on ESPN
fifteen thirty, the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals. Mike
Hot Game on Detok Sports like never before. Loeger today
at three pm on ESPN fifteen.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
Thirty for more information about contests. Welcome back.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
Since he three to sixty rolled along on a Tuesday
afternoon ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. Let's take some
phone calls for the first time this afternoon. Doc is
calling in.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
What's up? Doc?

Speaker 13 (31:15):
Hey?

Speaker 14 (31:16):
First of all, Tony, I'm glad you're back, and you
might remember me. I first saw you when you were
twenty inches long.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
That might give you a yes, yes, how are you?

Speaker 14 (31:26):
I'm some fine getting holds hell, but it's still there.
I'll hear you two questions with quarterbacks quickly and your
and your opinion.

Speaker 15 (31:34):
Uh.

Speaker 14 (31:35):
First one is Joe Burrow rumors which keep you know,
which are not probably real, But if you got four
or five first round draft choices for him, would you
take it? And the second one is Brandon Soresby. The
sites on Chad's website and stuff, a lot of people
think they need to hold on to him at all costs,

(31:55):
and uh break the bank for him. And I think
they're a fair number of coquarterbacks. I'd like to keep him,
but I think there are current number of quarterbacks out
there that there that we could find it would be
pretty much equal. And I think we need to spend
their money in the defense of secondary in mind receiver rooms.
So it's fun to know what your opinions are.

Speaker 3 (32:15):
Doc, I appreciate it. Thank you, Austin. Oddly enough, that
was that's the doctor who delivered me. Pretty cool that
first question. No, I would not give up Joe Burrow
for anything. It is so hard to come across a
franchise quarterback in this league. I would not give up
Joe Burrow for any amount of first round picks. Would

(32:35):
you no for Brendan Soarsby. That question's tough because I
would have to see how he finishes the year. If
he struggles finishing the year, that would be two years
in a row where he has struggled down the stretch.
But if he picks it back up and finishes the
year strong, I would ask the question, who else better

(32:55):
could you get? I don't think that is out there,
so I would, in my opinion, again, because quarterback makes
this go, I would do everything I could to keep
renting Sortsman.

Speaker 2 (33:04):
By the way, Soresby talking to the media right now.
He says his ankle is in good shape. He got
rolled up on against Arizona, but it sounds like he's
good to go for b Why there we go? What's up, Maso?

Speaker 16 (33:17):
What's going on? Boys?

Speaker 10 (33:18):
How are we doing today?

Speaker 2 (33:19):
You tell me?

Speaker 10 (33:20):
Well, unfortunately, Tony, I just got a text for Mali.

Speaker 11 (33:24):
Uh.

Speaker 10 (33:25):
There's a little protest on the beer pong tournament for
an elbow infraction.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Yeah. I figured that would be coming at some point.

Speaker 10 (33:33):
Yeah, So I don't know, you might have to return
that leg lamp trophy. But speaking of protest. Was there
a protest by the UC student Sunday night or what.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Yeah, I've seen I've seen a lot of this going around.
I don't know what's to blame right now, students are
in school. To my knowledge, it was one of the
weakest student sections I've ever seen. I have no problem
calling that out. Uh, students have to be better. They've
got to show up to basketball games. I agree.

Speaker 10 (34:04):
Okay, that's I was going to ask your stance on that,
and you can chime in if you want. But yeah,
I'm like, it should never be at least seventy five percent,
you know, it should be always seventy five percent full.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Yeah, I don't understand, especially like experience, in my opinion,
I get as well, Like if it's Thanksgiving or Christmas
break and students are just gone, but classes are in
session right now. It's a Sunday at six o'clock. How
are more things?

Speaker 2 (34:31):
That's the issue? Sunday at six.

Speaker 3 (34:33):
But it's also like it, But it's also like, enrollment's
never been higher at the University of Cincinnati. How are
you not filling that with two hundred students? As crazy
to No, I get it, I get it. I'm just
assuming that the games day and time is probably the biggest.

Speaker 11 (34:46):
Reason why, right, Yeah.

Speaker 10 (34:48):
I saw some different people saying, you know, it's Mount
Saint Mary's.

Speaker 6 (34:51):
Too, and I shouldn't matter care who the opponent is.

Speaker 16 (34:54):
Yeah, it shouldn't matter the opponent. It shouldn't matter.

Speaker 10 (34:57):
You know. Everybody was saying, well, the team has been
terrible for seven years, haven't been to a you know,
NCAA tournament.

Speaker 16 (35:03):
It doesn't matter. You're only in college for four years.
Live it up.

Speaker 10 (35:06):
Yeah, go there, enjoy it, Go to every sporting event
that you can, and stop sitting on your phones and
your dorm rooms.

Speaker 2 (35:13):
Go come ont preach, all right?

Speaker 10 (35:16):
Anyway, Also onto the Bengals. I heard something yesterday which
was kind of funny. So if you go to a
restaurant for thirty some odd years and the food is
absolutely garbage, would you.

Speaker 16 (35:31):
Still keep going to that restaurant?

Speaker 2 (35:34):
Probably?

Speaker 11 (35:34):
Not?

Speaker 10 (35:36):
Okay, Then why do Bengals fans keep putting up with
this crap? It's stupid, it's it's trash what they put
out there.

Speaker 16 (35:43):
Year in and year out.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (35:45):
I think that's the analogy is sports is just very
unique because because your team can duck for years and
years and years. But man, you keep on going, you
keep buying their gear, you keep coming back. But if
you go to a restaurant and you're and you get
a bad play of food, you're probably not even going
back to a second time. Sure, it's just it kind

(36:08):
of struck. It was a funny analogy I heard on
Dan Patrick in this was like, yeah, that's yeah, that's
kind of an interesting one. So why, yeah, why do
we put ourselves through this misery? Because I'm at the
point where I'm not even mad anymore. Like I don't
get mad when they win or lose, or when they lose.

Speaker 16 (36:24):
I'm at apathy.

Speaker 10 (36:26):
I'm apathetic, like I don't even care.

Speaker 3 (36:28):
Yeah, And that's that's the dangerous point, Maso, thank you,
brother yep By. That's the dangerous part is when people
stop caring. I would say to that analogy, there are
a lot of other restaurant options. There are a lot
of other choices that you could go to to eat.
There's not as many sporting teams locally that you can
pull for, and there's just something about sports that does
drag you in. And for this organization, they teased you.

(36:52):
You know, they went to the super Bowl, they went
to back to back AFC title games, and now you
have that taste. And I would equate it to the
opp I said Austin. I would equate it to going
somewhere and you get a taste of something really good
and then you keep trying to chase that to find
that high again. And I feel like that's what fans
are doing constantly with their sporting teams.

Speaker 2 (37:10):
I get the restaurant analogy, and it does make sense.
But you know, May says right, if you don't like
a place, you can stop going. And the NFL is
no different. If you don't want to be a fan
of a team anymore, no one's forcing you to be
a fan of a team, which is why I think
the analogy of marriage fits better, because you've made a
commitment at some point in your life. This is my team.

(37:32):
This is who I'm gonna root for, This is who
I'm gonna be a fan of, This is who I'm
going to live and die with. And there are times
where they're gonna make you mad, but you committed to them, right, Yeah,
there are times when you're gonna sleep on the couch,
but you committed to them, you know, And I think
that is the more apt comparison, but there's also an
out there too, and so if you choose to do that,

(37:56):
you're allowed to do that. And plenty of fans over
the the course of time have done that.

Speaker 3 (38:01):
Yeah, can I can? I just I got a text
from a good buddy of mind, and he makes a
good point, because can we just in a in a
nutshell think about what Maso's call was just about. Did
he criticize fans for not going to UC games and
then push back on fans for supporting the Bengals? Correct,
So we're just going on a circle, which come on

(38:23):
which organization you see basketball.

Speaker 2 (38:26):
Which hasn't been to a tournament in seven years, or
Cincinnati Bengals football over the last twenty five years has
been better? Well, I mean take over the last seven years.
I didn't ask that part of the question. I asked
twenty five twenty five, which has been probably still the Bengals. Okay,
but I think I mean that is I gotta call

(38:46):
my guy masa out. I mean, if it's shaken with
your right and holding a rocket.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
Yeah, it's it's the same thing you want to Well,
fans need to show up. And now it's coming from
a I know it comes from a point in love
with Maso because I believe Austin in Maso's time at
I won't share his college.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
I believe he was years in college.

Speaker 10 (39:06):
I was.

Speaker 3 (39:06):
I believe he was banned from going to certain sporting
events in college because not surprise, he's a little bit
over the top.

Speaker 2 (39:11):
Maybe there's too many Maso's that you see. Maybe, I mean,
I think it's a little bit different to have Maso's
back here. I think it's a little bit different if
you're a college student. Yeah, enjoy that experience. That's a
little bit.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
Yeah, he wasn't. He wasn't criticizing fans. He said to students.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Yeah, and for especially so many of them live on campus.
It's an easy trip, correct, So that I think, and
it's cheaper, you know, so that you know, in Maso's point,
I have his back.

Speaker 3 (39:38):
Around it on that well taken. Uh, we'll take a break,
we'll come back. We'll try to wrap up the hour
with a call or two before we get to Joe
Daniman and boy do we have a lot to talk
about with Joe All coming up next to ESPN fifteen
thirty Cincinnati Sports Station Thanks to Skyline Chile, sure.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
Welcome back.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
Since he three sixty, we are rolling along. It's our
number one. Joe Daniman is going to join us in
just a few minutes. We've got a ton to get
to as it relates to the Cincinnati Bengals. Before we
get to that, we'll try to wrap up these phone
calls here in our number one. Coop is calling in.
What's up, Coop?

Speaker 15 (40:20):
Hi?

Speaker 2 (40:20):
You buddy good? How are you pretty good?

Speaker 16 (40:24):
Uh? Pimp?

Speaker 2 (40:25):
How are we living so?

Speaker 13 (40:27):
Coop?

Speaker 6 (40:28):
All right?

Speaker 16 (40:29):
Hey?

Speaker 10 (40:31):
An interesting.

Speaker 17 (40:34):
Connection here is during the Payton era.

Speaker 10 (40:37):
I was in Indianapolis and.

Speaker 2 (40:40):
Bill Pollian was the GM.

Speaker 17 (40:43):
Bill Pollian was out front and center on everything.

Speaker 10 (40:48):
They had a weekly calling show.

Speaker 17 (40:51):
Bill Pollian would take calls from local fans calling in.

Speaker 16 (40:57):
He ran interference for everything.

Speaker 17 (41:00):
He wanted the coaches to coach, and he would control
everything else.

Speaker 2 (41:04):
Yeah.

Speaker 17 (41:05):
Now maybe was a little over the top. Now the
coaches would get up and give a weekly press conference,
but he was out front and center. He was answering
all the questions for the organization, not the head coach. Coaches, coach,
the GM handles everything else.

Speaker 10 (41:25):
Did it seemed to work?

Speaker 16 (41:26):
It worked?

Speaker 10 (41:26):
Well?

Speaker 2 (41:28):
Yeah, Coop, that's a great point. We appreciate the phone call.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
Look, I don't even think we're I'm not even asking
for that, obviously, Bill Pollian, on a weekly basis getting
up there and taking phone calls from listeners from Austin,
that would be like Duke Tobin coming on this show
once a week and taking calls he should He's welcome to.
He's more than welcome to. I'm not even asking for
that extent. But on a bye week, when your team

(41:53):
is spiraling in the wrong direction, you need to stand
up there and take some ownership. As you said, it's
supposed to be a team. Everyone's supposed to have each
other's backs. Duke Tobin last week essentially sat back Austin
and watched and listened to Zach Taylor have to answer
for all of his mistakes and didn't think too say,

(42:17):
you know what, I gotta put this to bed. I
got to go talk that to me. And as you
mentioned earlier, that to me is a little bit of
a character issue. That should not be the case. Something
should eat away at you so much to say, and
I'm done letting this guy take the fall for me.
I'm done listening to him had to answer for my

(42:39):
mistakes and to the time, yet that's not been the case. John,
last call here to wrap it up.

Speaker 16 (42:46):
What's up John, Good afternoon, fellas.

Speaker 18 (42:49):
I think this all leads back to something you touched
on yesterday, the lack of sense of urgency in the organization.

Speaker 16 (42:55):
I mean, your owner's ninety one years old.

Speaker 18 (42:57):
If I make it to ninety one years old, I'm
only buying green bananas.

Speaker 16 (43:00):
I'm not buying green bananas.

Speaker 18 (43:02):
Actually I'm buying yellow bananas or maybe brown bananas, because
who knows how long it's gonna last. But you just
look at Duke Tobin and can you believe this? Of
one hundred and twenty four professional sports franchises in North America,
he's the second longest tenured executive. The only one that's
been in their job longer is Brian Cashman with the
New York Yankees. Right two World Series with Brian Cashman.

(43:23):
There so lack of urgency white throughout the entire organization,
So it permeates down to the coaches, the players. It's
kind of more of a country club atmosphere that there's
going to be no repercussions. The other thing too, I
think one of the callers touched on this yesterday, you know,
for ten fifteen years ago, they were a bad boy Bengals, right,
Chris Henry pac Man, Jones, Bontest Burfect. Has the organization
done a one eighty and just wants to draft high

(43:44):
character guys like Demetrius Knight.

Speaker 16 (43:46):
Seems like a great guy.

Speaker 18 (43:48):
He's already a dad, was working as uber driving a
support his family.

Speaker 2 (43:51):
I want that guy to be my son in law.

Speaker 18 (43:53):
I don't know if I wanted to be.

Speaker 16 (43:54):
My football player.

Speaker 19 (43:55):
So you know, they've done like a flip of like
no more questionable car because we want just nice guys
and they may not be really good football players. So
a lot of that is from thirty thousand feet away.

Speaker 3 (44:07):
Yeah, no, there's a point that John, thank you for
the call. As always, there was a point Austin where
it felt like it shifted to where they were wanting
high character guys and captains right of successful teams. And again,
that's good to have on your team. Sometimes that doesn't
equate to the best football player, and I think you

(44:27):
have to find a balance between the two.

Speaker 11 (44:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:29):
I think they did that for a couple of years
and built what they thought was a good culture and
then deviated from that a little bit with some picks,
but the culture was so strong that you thought you
could deviate from that. Yes, that's my point. Zach Jackson
Carmen was one of those selections that you started to deviate.
Jermaine Burton has been one of those selections that you
start to deviate, and those picks haven't worked out. Now

(44:54):
some of the high character picks haven't worked out either.
It's not an exact science, but there's been a little
bit of both in recent years and it makes me
wonder if they'll go back towards that type of process
when drafting some.

Speaker 3 (45:08):
It takes a little tinkering and you've got to figure
you've got to figure out the most successful way, because
it hasn't been what's happening as of late. Joe Danaman
Fox nineteen will join us next to kick off Our
number two. ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 20 (45:22):
Our City, Our Club, Our Time, FC Cincinnati Playoff Pride
lives Here. ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 1 (45:35):
Tony Pikes since three sixty about Cincinnati from Cincinnati, Sponsoredman
Park by Cincy Shirts, Cincy Shirts all since e All Day.

Speaker 19 (45:46):
This is ESPN.

Speaker 1 (45:48):
Fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports station.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
All right, welcome back.

Speaker 3 (45:52):
It's our number two the Tuesday edition since he three
sixty thanks to Cincy shirts. Our number two on Tuesday
means our guy from Fox nineteen is standing by to
join us right now. The problem is, Austin, I just
don't know if there's enough storylines that we can talk
about today with Joe, So we're gonna have to dig
pretty deep to try to figure out how to get
a segment out of this with Joe Daniman joining us
right now.

Speaker 2 (46:12):
What's up, Joe?

Speaker 16 (46:13):
I thought we were going to talk about elbow infractions
on beer pong elbow infractions.

Speaker 3 (46:19):
That is a false claim. I was clearly three feet
behind the table. People just don't like greatness, Joe. Your
arms are four feet long. People struggle with greatness at
different times.

Speaker 16 (46:29):
You're so tall you can just reach across and just
drop the ball right into a cup. It's unfair.

Speaker 2 (46:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (46:34):
Well, I was carried by my wife, so I didn't
even play the best.

Speaker 2 (46:38):
So there's that. Did you catch any of John Cena's
final Monday Night We're all last night?

Speaker 16 (46:43):
Oh my gosh, it's on tape on record. Haven't gotten
there yet, so no spoilers. Just yet.

Speaker 2 (46:50):
Uh, do we have any traction?

Speaker 3 (46:52):
I know we're going to dive into the Bengals any chance,
Elder say Next is going to be played at pay
Course Stadium.

Speaker 16 (46:57):
Boy, That's what I've been working on the last half hour.
Let me say this. I can say this publicly because
I have it confirms from two people. I do know
that workers are being mobilized to be ready for Friday
night and a high school football game at pay Course Stadium.
That does not mean it's for sure happening. I know

(47:20):
there is another venue in the Tri State that's also
in play, that is trying to get this game at
their venue. But I think the big winner here is
State Next Elder and high school football in Cincinnati. That
we can get a bigger venue for a game that
deserves to be played at a bigger venue. It's the
biggest hig school football game of the year here in Cincinnati.

(47:44):
So the fact that I'm always of, yes, let's play
it at a high school venue, yet let's make it
feel exclusive. But if there are that many people who
want to come see this game played, why would we
not use the facilities that are here in town to
get more people in to see.

Speaker 2 (48:02):
What will be a great game for sure, without a doubt.

Speaker 3 (48:05):
Now, outside of that, it has been a pretty busy
week around the Cincinnati Bengals with everything that happened in
the loss of the Pittsburgh Dealer is let's start with
the Jamar Chase incident. Let's start with I think let's
start with how it's being handled from the organization. We
weren't able. We see the video, and then we hear

(48:28):
Jamar Chase's response and then the suspension, and we've really
yet to hear from Jamar Chase to this point. How
do you view how this has been handled internally from
the Bengals up to this point.

Speaker 16 (48:39):
It's interesting because Jamar choosing not to speak is his decision.
And the way Mondays work at pay Course Stadium with
open locker room, the team comes out of the team
meeting and the entire team flows into the locker room
at the exact same time. So there was a heavier
presence of media than usual on Monday afternoon. We were

(49:03):
all waiting around Jamar's locker. You would think he would
have to stop there, get some personal items and leave.
He did not. He just walked right to the locker room.
Ben Baby from ESPN was the one who kind of
branched out to kind of go over there and test
the water so to speak with Jamar to see who
wanted to talk. He asked him and he shook his
head no. He said, can we take that as an

(49:24):
official no comment? He shook his head yes, and he
was out of the room. So Jamar Chase chose not
to speak. I don't know. I'm okay with him not speaking,
but I also think there was an opportunity there for
him to speak and say what he wanted to say,
if it's an apology or if it's him a misunderstanding

(49:45):
of what happened on Sunday. The hard part for Jamar
in this situation is the video was posted after he
did his postgame interview, So did he think he got
away with it? One noticed it, and that's why he
thought he could confidently say he didn't do it. And
then the video came out there after, so that that's

(50:07):
what put him in a bit of a bind on
what he said, how it was handled by the organization.
This is this is how the Bengals do it right,
that Zach Taylor has to be the voice of the
organization on this one. That that's part of the job
description in Cincinnati as Bengals head coaches. You're the voice
of the organization in good times and in bad And

(50:27):
Zach stood by Jamar and he should because I think
Jamar has firmed that now we've seen Jamar have these
crashouts that seemed to happen once a year. I mean,
I think back to last year in Kansas City early
in the season when he had a moment like this,
and then he had this one on Sunday in Pittsburgh
and listen, provoked or not right, I mean, we all
understand what Jalen Ramsey's about. You know, if anybody can

(50:50):
provoke aj Green to do what he did, certainly he's
he's a master at provoking guys to do things. And
and and it happened to Jamar Chase on Sunday in Pittsburgh.
And how it's being handled. This is what they do,
and Zach Taylor has to answer the questions. He's standing
by Jamar. It's what he has to do. And I
think he should stand by Jamar because I think Jamar

(51:11):
is about the right stuff. Even though we had that
moment on Sunday, and yeah, that's just the way the
Bengals are going to do it. It's going to be
curious how quickly the appeal plays out for whenever Jamar
does talk next, because scheduled to speak on Thursday, but
that likely won't happen this week unless the suspension is

(51:34):
appealed and won. Otherwise we're not gonna hear from Jamar
for another week.

Speaker 3 (51:38):
So that's everything going on away from the field right now.
The other issue is what's happening on the field this team,
with another disappointing loss, things continue to unravel in the
wrong direction, and now you're looking at the tall task
of playing the hottest team in football, more than likely
without your best offensive weapon. At this point, what does
this mean from just a sheer football standpoint for the

(52:01):
I mean.

Speaker 16 (52:01):
It's not just your best offensive weapon. You could argue
that Joe Burrow, Jamar, Chase Trey Hendrickson or this team's
three best players at worst three of their four best players.
And now you're playing the team with the best record
in football without three or your four best players, or
maybe all three of your best players. It's that's a
difficult thing. That's the process for this team going forward. Look,

(52:25):
I feel like the Patriots can be had. I'm not
sold that they're the best team in the NFL, that
they've earned their record. They are what they are. Drake
Mays an awesome player, Mike Brabel is a great coach,
that they're on the come up. But I do think
they can be beaten. I just I don't see a
pass for this team without Trey Hendrickson, with without Jim R. Chase,

(52:48):
without Joe Burrow to get it done on Sunday. Now,
with the NFL, we see weird things happen all the
time in this league. But at the same time, I
don't see the pass for the Bengals to win on
Sunday without those three players. Austin, I don't want to
hijack the conversation. Can you hit the breaking new sounder?

Speaker 2 (53:06):
Oh oh okay, hold on, give me a second and
we look at this. We now go to the fold
lines to Joe Danovan from Fox nineteen who has breaking news.

Speaker 16 (53:18):
Joe, a source tell Fox nineteen now that it is
a done deal State Ax Elder pay Course Stadium on
Friday night.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
Wow, Wow, that is.

Speaker 16 (53:34):
What a Friday night in downtown Cincinnati. Unbelieve you've see
Louisville at Heritage Bank Center and then down the street
you have State X and Elder to be played on
Friday night. So I'm going to continue this conversation with
you guys while firing off a tweet. How about this.
We're going to multitask this.

Speaker 2 (53:55):
This is unbelievable. Take as much time as you.

Speaker 16 (53:57):
Need, tweet as. Let's go ahead and pen the tweet together, guys,
which is say Door tells Fox nineteen Now.

Speaker 2 (54:08):
Yeah that Now do you put Elder first? Okay? Interesting? Interesting,
they're the one seed.

Speaker 16 (54:15):
Let's get Older first. That the Elder versus Saint Xavier
Regional Championship. This is great radio, No, I love it.

Speaker 2 (54:31):
I love it. Turn your notifications on.

Speaker 16 (54:34):
This is breaking news Friday night at pay Core Stadium.

Speaker 3 (54:40):
Incredible. The power of the people in this fine city
have spoken.

Speaker 16 (54:45):
It's amazing. People get one caveat here this text or
to this tweet, it would say that public announcement coming soon.

Speaker 3 (54:54):
Dang, unbelievable. Good things happened when we talked to Joe
that game cool. I mean Mason held what seven thousand
and it sold out immediately?

Speaker 16 (55:07):
Yeah, I don't know. People do be think can can
get this? I mean what what twenty. Do you do
we get twenty for SAT Next and Elder Yes, I
would think so, Yes, easily.

Speaker 10 (55:20):
That's good stuff.

Speaker 16 (55:22):
Easily stop guy.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
This is fantastic. Thanks thanks for choosing to break that
news with us, Joe. We appreciate that a lesser person
would have just hung up the phone. A lesser person
would have.

Speaker 16 (55:32):
You and I did breaking news together during this show.
It was when Joe Flacco got traded to the Angle, Yes,
and we were trying to process that on the air,
and you think back to that conversation and where the
Bengals are now, I mean this this it was we
didn't think, I don't know. On the surface, I was like,
it's a guy. Joe Flacco doesn't have much less. He's

(55:53):
been great. I know he came back to Earth on
Sunday a little bit, and that was always, uh, the
worry into Tony's last question about the Bengals playing the
Patriots on Sunday is, Yeah, the defense is the defense,
but the offense has been pretty elite all season. Now
you wonder as Joe flacc will come back to Earth

(56:13):
a little bit. Now you don't have Jamar Chase. What's
the past to beating the Patriots. I don't know, other
than the NFL can get weird.

Speaker 2 (56:21):
Something that I found interesting, Joe is the last two Mondays,
Zach Taylor has basically cut off the idea that Trey
Henderson could play now normally he's pretty coy about these
injuries and said, we'll see how it happens. We'll see this,
We'll see He's immediately said, Trey has been doubtful. Uh,
both this last press conference yesterday and the Monday before,

(56:44):
is there any indication about a timetable for Trey Hendrickson
or what he's going through or if he's going to
be able to play again this year?

Speaker 16 (56:53):
None whatsoever. Yeah, the only information we have is the
exact information that you've heard from. And I've noticed the
same thing. And you know, I don't like to say
these things out loud on public, but I think you
have to wonder is Trey Hendrickson going to play any
more meaningful snaps in Cincinnati. I just don't know. Yeah,

(57:13):
but the only information we've had is what's been given
from Zach Taylor, and it's been very quick. Doubtful, doubtful, doubtful.
It's weird that he's always landed on doubtful and never
an out, but it kind of feels like doubtful with
an expectation that, oh yeah, he's out, not going to play.
So I think it has to be in the back
of everyone's minds that the timetable of Trey Hendrickson could

(57:37):
include him not playing the rest of the season. I
think I would bet against that. But at this point,
the only information we have is that he continues to
say doubtful on a weekly basis as.

Speaker 3 (57:49):
It relates to who will be available on Sunday against
the Patriots. If Jamar Chase and the suspension are upheld,
Do we see Jermaine Burden active for this game?

Speaker 16 (58:02):
I have no idea. That is a curveball. I don't know.
It feels like he's been weirdly phased out the last
couple of weeks with whatever this this illness is. He's around.
We saw him yesterday. Oddly he was the last one
who was still inside the locker room. Certainly there there's

(58:25):
a space and an opportunity for him. I would think
Mitchell Tinsley is the likely choice to get a lot
of snaps with with Jamar Chase if he's not going
to play on Sunday, but being active, I mean, man,
you would think you would think he would have a
chance to be active. But the way he's been treated

(58:46):
here the last couple of weeks, with with illnesses and
just not not being involved, it kind of feels like
he's almost been put in this this weird category of
just out of sight, out of mind, and Kenny pop
up up here in one week in a handful of
practices and earn his way to an activation on Sunday. Certainly,

(59:07):
the past is there, but it feels like a long
shot to me for Jermaine Jermaine Burton to do anything
that would be of any kind of a difference making
role on Sunday against the Patriots.

Speaker 3 (59:21):
The questions will remain with Joe Burrow. And you talked
about Trey Hendrickson and will he play meaningful snaps. It's
one thing to talk about Joe Burrow in the sense
when everything was still alive, right going into the Pittsburgh game.
Beat Pittsburgh and let's reconvene, let's see what happens. Losing
the game to Pittsburgh, being a big underdog to New England.
Does that change how you view how Joe Burrow would

(59:42):
be handled.

Speaker 16 (59:44):
No, it doesn't seem how I view it. But my
view is completely different from what I'm feeling from the stadium,
because my view is if the Bengals are not in
this and don't have a chance to go to the playoffs,
and it feels like that for all intents and purpose,
has died Sunday in Pittsburgh, that he should not play
because the Bengals are going to enter the offseason with

(01:00:07):
so many questions on so many different levels, and that
extends all the way up to the front office, the
coaching staff, personnel. How to rebuild this defense, how to
get this team competitive in twenty twenty six? Do they
need to hit a reset button? The last thing you
need is one more giant question on the top of

(01:00:27):
all of those mountains of questions of is our quarterback
going to be ready? Is he going to have to
be coming back from another injury. Now, what I'm feeling
from Joe talking and talking to people at the stadium
is that Joe wants to play football because Joe likes
to play football, and Joe is paid to play football.

(01:00:47):
And I get that, and I think that's most likely
what is going to happen. If I had to bet
it right now that no matter what the record is,
that Joe Burrow is going to push to play and
likely will win his push and get on the field
at some point this season. But does somebody in the

(01:01:08):
organization have to protect him from himself? Does somebody else
have to make that decision? Are we going to get
another Mike Brown on the golf cart with Joe Burrow
out of practice and him telling him what's going to
happen that week? But what happened that week was Joe
ended up playing on that Sunday night. So it kind

(01:01:29):
of feels like, and I don't mean this, I mean
it somewhat tongue in cheek, is that it feels like,
sometimes Joe Burrow makes a lot of decisions about himself
and maybe a lot of decisions that affect other people
in the organization, and maybe he's earned that. But if
it were me, I would not play him because I
would not want to risk adding another giant question mark

(01:01:51):
to what is already going to be an offseason full
of them. But if Joe Burrow is going to push
to play, and he gets the green light from the
medical staff that he ready to go, I think you're
going to see him at some point this season.

Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
Outside of everything going on with the Bengals, it's a
huge obviously local sports weekend. We've outlined Friday Night now
with Elder sat Ex at pay Course Stadium. You see
in Louisville at Heritage Bank, Saturday, big noon kickoff comes
to town. You see plays host to BYU for nip
at Night. This game has obviously lost a little bit

(01:02:28):
of the build up because you're now not in control
of your own destiny if you're the Cincinnati Bearcats. But
how important is this game, Joe? For a team in
Scott Saderfield who last year got to five and two
and lost their last five. They've now reached this great moment.
They've lost their last two. Here comes another good opponent.
How important is Saturday for Scott Saderfield and the Bearcats.

Speaker 16 (01:02:51):
Well, I think you made the great point there, and
you've made that several times here in the last couple
of weeks. Is that you see can't repeat what they
did last season and the fade out at the end
of the season. When you get spot lit like this,
you've got to perform, and they're gonna be spot lit
on Saturday night and on Saturday Morning afternoon with Big

(01:03:14):
Noon being there and then them getting the eight o'clock
game on Fox. When your spotlight light spotlt like this,
and you're right, you know that the past isn't as
clear as it was in the Big twelve Championship. That
shouldn't matter Saturday night. Saturday Night should be about a
chance for you see football to be on a stage
and perform. You know, Scott Saturdayfield's done enough this year

(01:03:36):
to quiet a lot of people and perhaps even save
his job. And I think he's done a very good
job this year, but there are still questions we all
have about UC football going into this game on Saturday Night,
And to me, the biggest spotlight is on the quarterback.
And I love everything that Brendan Swartzby is about. I
love the way he handles himself. He's a tough kid.

(01:03:59):
He's had a great season, but in some of the
biggest games of the year, he hasn't played his best football.
So he's the one I'm watching the most. On a
stage like Saturday Night, with a lot of people in
the country watching him, maybe for the first time it
can he perform like the Brendan Soresby that that can
make you see. A Top twenty five is team that

(01:04:21):
can keep you see alive in a Big twelve race,
that can get you see to a good bowl game,
or who knows, get a shot at the Big twelve
championship and go to the playoffs. But when you get
a moment like this in a stage, you gotta perform.
And the person I want to see perform the best
and the most is the quarterback because we know what
he's capable of. Yes in the game and some of

(01:04:43):
the biggest games of the year, he just hasn't delivered.
And he's got a shot here right that maybe he's
last shot against BYU to really deliver in this game
in front of a national audience.

Speaker 2 (01:04:53):
He's the one I'm watching obviously.

Speaker 3 (01:04:54):
That's Saturday Night. Sunday is Bengals Patriots. Sunday night, MESSI
comes into town. What all do you guys have going
on at Fox nineteen coming up?

Speaker 16 (01:05:03):
I mean, you think about Saturday, Big News starts at ten,
and then you have the Ohio State game on at
nude and then you had the UC game on at eight.
I mean, it's a massive day for football watching on Fox.
So we're excited to have that and then Sunday, Yeah,
we'll be doing it both. We'll be at pay Court Stadium,
then we'll finish up with postgame there and head straight

(01:05:24):
over to Messi versus FC Cincinnati. And that's such an
awesome event in such a huge game, And it's been
one of these things that's been kind of under talked
about is how well FC Cincinnati has done against Messi
since he's come to Major League Soccer. But now now
you're going to get the best Messi shot Right now,

(01:05:44):
you're going to get him in an Eastern Conference semi
final with its winner go home two games away. Then
if you win that for winning the MLS Cup, that
to me is going to be theater. It's going to
be cinema to see what Messi does when the state
or this high coming to Cincinnati and TQL Stadium. I
can't wait. Sunday is going to be an absolute banger.

(01:06:05):
But it's a great weekend starting Friday night and then
continues all the way through Sunday.

Speaker 3 (01:06:09):
What was it yesterday someone asked us to ask Joe
Austin about something about Julius's.

Speaker 2 (01:06:13):
Chicken with Chicken sandwich that we were told to ask
you about a Julia or Julia.

Speaker 16 (01:06:18):
Yeah, Julius aid, Indian Hill baby, why go to Chick
fil a when you can have Indian Hills chicken all day? Wow?

Speaker 10 (01:06:28):
Is huge?

Speaker 21 (01:06:28):
Man.

Speaker 16 (01:06:29):
That guy was spitting bars at the grill on Friday night. Yes,
it was awesome because you go to a high school game, right,
you get your burgers, your dogs. Indian Hill man, they
do it right.

Speaker 4 (01:06:40):
Man.

Speaker 16 (01:06:40):
They were doing some grilled chicken. He's a big piece
of the chicken.

Speaker 11 (01:06:44):
Baby.

Speaker 16 (01:06:44):
I was, I was loving it man. Julius was dropping
bars at the grill.

Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
Was awesome, awesome. You're the best, Joe Man, Thank you
so much. Appreciate the breaking news. We'll talk again next week.
Thanks Joe yea fifteen thirty Cincinnati sports station. Your talkbacks
are next.

Speaker 22 (01:07:04):
Backs.

Speaker 23 (01:07:05):
Press the microphone and record your message or Austin in tone,
please keep it clean and don't be mean and a.

Speaker 13 (01:07:14):
Sprinkle sprinkle, drip drifts.

Speaker 2 (01:07:17):
It's that time for talkbacks.

Speaker 23 (01:07:19):
It's our favorite tarter Sincy three sixty. So Austin buddy,
play those talkbacks on your screen and please try out
to sabotages.

Speaker 2 (01:07:33):
Did you like that updated ditty there? I like that
our guy, former President Reagan, I don't know if he
wants his real name out there, so I'm just gonna
keep calling him former President Reagan.

Speaker 16 (01:07:43):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:07:43):
He sent that along this morning says he's working on
a Christmas one as well, So I mean, we basically
should hire our guy at this point. I love it
with the productions. You know, about a week and a
half ago, I submitted a request for updated for What's Coming.
I did it for Read and React, for quick hits,

(01:08:06):
for buy or Sell, for Call the Day.

Speaker 16 (01:08:09):
All that.

Speaker 2 (01:08:11):
Bob producer, Well I just gave out his name. Bob
produces him better than we faster than we do.

Speaker 3 (01:08:18):
How about this? I had to say this as well.
This weekend in stores only, While Supplies Last, SINSI Shirts
has a new shirt design.

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
This is great, bless this mess.

Speaker 3 (01:08:31):
Thanksgiving twenty twenty five. It's got a picture of a
Bengal tiger eating what is that?

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
A chicken?

Speaker 15 (01:08:36):
Leg?

Speaker 3 (01:08:36):
Turn duncan turn ducking. Customers going to get a free
Turkey drop T shirt as well with the fifty dollars
purchase check it out at cintishirts dot com. But you
got to go in store to get the shirt. While
Supplies Last a WKRP Turkey tests. Oh boy, that's great,
SINSI shirts.

Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
You want to start playing some of the talkback shirt today,
let's do it.

Speaker 24 (01:08:59):
James Addison Bloomington school record eleven and oh well, whoop
Purdue waiting for the Buckeyes and the Big Ten championship
at the Dome in Indy.

Speaker 2 (01:09:14):
Wha, all right, too far, Jeff got the Hoosiers involved. Now,
speaking of Hoosiers, did you see that the Pittsburgh Pirates
are allegedly in on Kyle Schwarber. Now, Josh Naylor signed
a big contract with the Seattle Mariners yesterday. Apparently the

(01:09:34):
Pirates offered him eighty million dollars. Oh are they trying
to make a splash maybe and fit this into the
Paul Skeins window. They should. Could you imagine the reaction
from Reds fans? No, if Kyle Schwarber signs with the
Pittsburgh Pirates, No, that would be a rough day. You

(01:09:56):
were talking about a meltdown.

Speaker 25 (01:09:57):
It's the Lord, you know, and the tailor press conferences.
I wish there were ten Kelsey Conways asking questions. She's
bold and unique and she's always asked the tough questions.
I wish the rest of the reporters could be like that.

Speaker 2 (01:10:15):
Okay, all right, Well, at the Kelsey Power rankings are
coming out at the.

Speaker 6 (01:10:19):
Kelsey, Tony and Audie.

Speaker 26 (01:10:22):
It's Chad ben Dale's good friend Marvin Freeman. Mor just
wanted to say, love your show. Unfortunately, I sense brave
danger for our Bearcats this Saturday versus b Yu. I'm
on the fire sadderfield train myself. Chugg chugger chew chew chew.

Speaker 27 (01:10:47):
Hello, this is former President Ronald Regan. Well, just once,
I would like to hear Zach Taylor speak like a
drill sergeant instead of giving us the fluff talk of
a politician. I don't want to hear that he trusts
his guys or the process when it's obvious to everyone
else that it's not working. He may as well say,

(01:11:08):
are you're not a crook? Or I didn't inhale. That's
what his press conferences have become.

Speaker 2 (01:11:16):
Oh boy, man boy, hey.

Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
I approached it from a former baggage handler. Do not
put your name and home address on your bag tag
when you go on your big fancy vacation to Hawaii.
Anybody that touches that bag and they see the tag
with Honolulu on it knows you ain't home tonight and
they can come rob your blind back.

Speaker 10 (01:11:46):
You.

Speaker 2 (01:11:46):
What do you put on your bag tag? Just my name?
That's it. That's all. No way to contact you. No, well,
that doesn't make a lot.

Speaker 3 (01:11:54):
Also, don't I mean we really don't fly much outside
of flying with the team. My bag tag and I
say that you write on the right on the plane
my first and last name. Okay, that's Austin Elmore, my
phone number five to one three no, and my apt
at Audiomo. Those are my three things. I also have
an air tag.

Speaker 2 (01:12:13):
Hidden in it on the same next game from a
distance away.

Speaker 11 (01:12:18):
Isn't it supposed to.

Speaker 2 (01:12:19):
Rain all day long on Friday?

Speaker 17 (01:12:21):
And the Bengals have a home game on Sunday?

Speaker 2 (01:12:23):
Am I missing something here? Oh? No, what's wrong with that?
The field is going to be messed up. It's turf,
I know.

Speaker 28 (01:12:29):
Oh hey, guys, armchair prosecution of this assertion that Mike
Brown wants to win. Since nineteen ninety one, Mike has
only had eleven winning seasons in thirty four years. He
has a five and eleven average over.

Speaker 2 (01:12:40):
Those other twenty three years.

Speaker 28 (01:12:42):
For comparison, the Steelers in the same timeframe have only
had four losing seasons and compiled twenty six winning seasons.
Now the Terrible Tree are systematically destroying the Burrow era.
Losing is Mike Brown's calling card. He prefers a lukewarm
bowl of oat me on a side of dry toast
to winning. There is zero defense on the field and
zero defense for him.

Speaker 2 (01:13:02):
I keep trying to tell people the truth. I don't
know if they're listening. Mike Brown wants to win, but
he wants to win his way and his processes, I
believe are flawed. That's the issue. It's not that he's
just I don't think Mike Brown wakes up in the
morning and says, how can we go nine to eight

(01:13:22):
and miss the playoffs? No? I don't believe that.

Speaker 28 (01:13:26):
Hey, guys, armchair prosecution of this search.

Speaker 2 (01:13:28):
I just played that.

Speaker 16 (01:13:29):
Sorry, Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:13:30):
So obviously Zach Taylor cance it up there and speak
his mind. His job's on the line.

Speaker 29 (01:13:33):
Just like you guys can sit up there and say
one hundred percent of what you want to say because
you can get fired. I get it, your livelihood's on
the line. But answer me this. Why isn't anyone and
this includes like podcasters that can say whatever the heck
they want. Why doesn't anyone reach out to Marvin Lewis
gotten some answers from him? Is the guy that buttoned
up that he won't say anything about the Bengals. He
was there when Duke Copen was there. He knows how

(01:13:55):
the sausage is made.

Speaker 30 (01:13:56):
Why does anybody reach out to him to get these answers?

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
How does it benefit Marvin Lewis to air out the laundry?
Tell all for Marvin? How does that benefit him? I
don't think it does. He's also still really good friends
with Mike Brown. We'd also love to have him on
the show. Yeah, Marvin's welcome anytime. I know he does
games now national radio. You know he did a Bengals game,
the Bears game. Yeah, why don't we have Mond? Where
were they at? They were on the road. Where was that?

(01:14:21):
Let's have him on the preview a game, the Packers game.
Marvin was there, gave Mike Brown a big hug. I'll
reach out.

Speaker 21 (01:14:27):
I have a start mentioning cut for Dave fort and No,
he's visit the Cincinnati and the pizza reas.

Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
Okay, I have.

Speaker 16 (01:14:36):
Ramon dos. Which one would you go with?

Speaker 2 (01:14:39):
I would go Donados. He was gonna say, Tony has
to go with Donado's. I would do any of them
because I don't have a pizza endorsement. I always go Donados.
I want a pizza endorsement. I will speak on behalf
of any pizza player of Cincinnati. I think, get you anything. Well,
I could be proven wrong.

Speaker 15 (01:14:58):
The person says anything about Zach Taylor's family, You'll point
him out, We'll get him out of here.

Speaker 4 (01:15:05):
You don't live in Cleveland, You'll live in Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (01:15:08):
Gosh, we could use some sandwish these days, Tony, haughty, Rachel.

Speaker 21 (01:15:13):
Please, just a question of hypothetical. Really, Okay, let's say
Zach Taylor goes. I personally don't believe he'd be fired
because the Brown's put up with mediocrity. But let's say
he would get fired. Do you think there's a coach
out there that's worth their weight that would really want
this job. Don't you think most good coaches would want

(01:15:34):
to avoid having to work with the Brown family.

Speaker 2 (01:15:38):
Yeah, we outlined this a little bit earlier. I do
think the idea of the cap space, the quarterback, and
a patient ownership group are enough to get some guys
to want to come here.

Speaker 30 (01:15:52):
One common strait that great head coaches seem to have
is that they hold their best players to a standard
that's a little bit higher than everybody else. So the
accountability I think are the best of the best than
it is for everybody else. And when you look at

(01:16:13):
this team, the fact that Joe Burrow decides whether or
not he's going to go under center kind of sums
that part of it.

Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
I think it's a little more delicate than that. I
hope that we get because this has been talked about
seemingly endlessly, the under center thing. The Bengals did a
lot more of it in the first two games with
Joe Burrow. I hope that there are questions asked of
Joe the next time he meets with the media about
that and so that we could get some clarification on it. Yeah.

(01:16:44):
I just don't know how much he'll be able to
do with the with the.

Speaker 12 (01:16:46):
Tone, man, turn that seat back up, hot, it's time
to flame him.

Speaker 15 (01:16:54):
Up.

Speaker 16 (01:16:55):
Body.

Speaker 12 (01:16:55):
I'm irritated not featuring Joe Roy and his offense. I
don't understand this. We don't win big games on national TV.
I mean, come on, man, get real marshmallowsoft defense for
the Bengals and Barracats FC Cincinnati. You better say us
this weekend, send the goat home packing and you see
basketball don't get exposed.

Speaker 2 (01:17:14):
But I think it's going to happen.

Speaker 3 (01:17:15):
Oh Okay, there's not a lot of hope for UC
hoops on Friday that I've heard.

Speaker 31 (01:17:21):
Hey, guys, it is Gary from del High. Serious question
today for we really want a good start, bench cut
out of this one. But which organization is most serious
about winning a champions Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals or the
Washington Generals. And for those of you who don't know,
the Washington Generals are the team that gets pounded on

(01:17:42):
by the hard and globe trotters.

Speaker 3 (01:17:44):
I would still thanks, I will listen. I would start
the Bengals. Yes, bench the Reds and cut the Generals.

Speaker 2 (01:17:52):
I agree.

Speaker 32 (01:17:54):
For the sake about our own sanity. Let us not
compare Bill Pollian.

Speaker 2 (01:18:02):
To Duke and Tobin. Okay, I agree with that.

Speaker 32 (01:18:08):
And to that point, when does Zach say, Hey, Duke,
I'm fielding questions with which everyone knows I don't have
the answer to.

Speaker 2 (01:18:17):
Would you like to be a capable, you.

Speaker 32 (01:18:21):
Know, member of the team and field the question? Seeing
as you do have the answers, and they were your decisions.
I mean, kind of looking out for Zach in that way,
if he did, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:18:33):
I do wonder if that's kind of part of the
trade off. You get a longer leash or more with
you got to deal with all the crap.

Speaker 33 (01:18:43):
Well, let me tell you something mean, take it from
your old pail dandy savage man doesn't want you or
anybody in the locker room, but in a single dime
on those Bengals to win from here on out that decent.
It's this terrible change. I haven't seen anybody. It's easy

(01:19:03):
to score on since lived in the night.

Speaker 2 (01:19:05):
Oh no, don't you do it.

Speaker 33 (01:19:07):
If you do it, gonna lose your money faster than
you can snip into a slenting gym.

Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
Oh yeah, that's pretty good. That's pretty good.

Speaker 34 (01:19:16):
Spinning on a player is never acceptable under any circumstance.
But in a hypothetical situation, if somebody was gonna spit
on somebody in an athletic event, could you pick a
better candidate than Jalen Ramsey in the Pittsburgh Steelers uniform.
I mean, like I said, disavow, I disavow. Yeah, But

(01:19:41):
come on, it's the Steelers in Jalen Ramsey, so.

Speaker 35 (01:19:45):
Picked a good one.

Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
At least, what would happen? Tone if balling ain't easy,
spit on you at the Memorial Day three on three,
well hands being thrown.

Speaker 3 (01:19:54):
There would have Usually something like that happens because a
rivalry has ensued because one side has won a game,
right right, Like a spit from Ballin would just be
out of anger because he's yet to win. It'd just
be like rain, Yeah, I'd be like, all right cool.
By the way, Mike Tomlin was asked about this today.

Speaker 11 (01:20:12):
You know, I'd have no message. If someone spits in
your face, do what comes natural?

Speaker 2 (01:20:21):
Shut up? Tomblotoo man. I kind of respect that answer.
He's a real one for it.

Speaker 22 (01:20:25):
Yeah, this is Dakota Cole Ringe Township's upcoda classic Natty
put the rich Catholic Boys on the main stage in
the pro stadium. You ain't doing that for col Rain,
You ain't doing that for Wynn Woods. Doing for the
rich Catholic Boys and Jama Chase. He don't need to
speak to the media. That's what Zach's for. Zach answers

(01:20:46):
all and every question that anyone has from plumbing to
play a personnel.

Speaker 2 (01:20:52):
That's what he does. Uh, we're in a good place today.
Jeff from the Peers.

Speaker 36 (01:21:00):
You know, keeping in mind that I am a Bobcat.
I would hate to think that this expanded playoff. Uh
you know where you see, you know, has have a shot,
had a shot, would and not be quite there would
make this game unimportant?

Speaker 2 (01:21:19):
What just make me sad? What did he just say?
I don't know. Let's try it again, Let's see if
we can figure it out. I'm struggling to follow this one.
Jeff from the piers.

Speaker 36 (01:21:30):
You know, keeping in mind that I am a Bobcat.
I would hate to think that this expanded playoff. Uh
you know where you see, you know has have a shot?
I had a shot, would and not be quite there
would make this game unimportant?

Speaker 11 (01:21:49):
What just make me sad?

Speaker 2 (01:21:51):
I'm still don't I'm not getting so he's saying that
he I think he's saying it makes him sad that
the b YU game no longer has playoff significance. Okay,
I think that's what he's saying.

Speaker 15 (01:22:03):
Okay, Hey guys, Marcus from the Grove, Marcus, when it
comes to the National Baseball Hall of fame list. I
think the only newcomer that's on the ballad should be
coll Hanmiles, as well as Carlos, Beltron, Mark Burley, Omar
Vesquel and King Felix.

Speaker 2 (01:22:23):
Okay, thank you Marcus. Hey guys, this is Steve Markle.

Speaker 27 (01:22:29):
Our Bengals suck, our Bearcat suck and our red suck.

Speaker 2 (01:22:33):
Golass seat.

Speaker 34 (01:22:36):
I didn't know.

Speaker 2 (01:22:36):
I didn't know Erkle was au since he fan, Thanks sir,
I don't know he's a since fan.

Speaker 37 (01:22:43):
Tony Austin, this is Captain James T. Kirk of the
story Shooting Enterprise. I predict a Bengals win on Sunday
will do nothing to turn around the season, but at

(01:23:08):
least we won't look as bad as the Brown Okay
is that?

Speaker 2 (01:23:14):
Don't tell me that? Don't I know that? Uh what
that's from? I mean he literally told you they said
the Starship Enterprise. What's the star Trek? Star Trek? Yes,
I know the name. I couldn't I couldn't think of it.

Speaker 30 (01:23:28):
Uh huh, Tony, if balling ain't easy, you would that
be a spitball.

Speaker 2 (01:23:35):
Thoughts. Sure it's a good one, Yeah, Tony, it will
be like man you ought to be used to it.
I'm always raining threes in your guys face. You guys
just stacked your team.

Speaker 11 (01:23:47):
Kevin Johnson, come on.

Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
Man, ballin. You need to you need to be doing
some working. Free agency.

Speaker 3 (01:23:53):
He does every year he's got a big player coming in.
They just don't show up on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:23:57):
Yeah, that's least, at least he talks about it. He's
no Duke Tobin. He doesn't run from his No, he's
all mistakes. He's out there, he is all right. That
was our last night. Good deal. But I saw a
tweet from GCL Sports saying, thank you, Peycorp. Let's go,
let's go. What about the other games? Though? Heard it
here first, heard it here first. That's what we do, yep,

(01:24:21):
bing bong.

Speaker 3 (01:24:24):
Football in the Natti to finish up our number two.

Speaker 2 (01:24:29):
Pirates. Oh my god, we'll lose my marbles. Can you imagine?
Would that be a wake up call? Marinate on that
for a second. We'll be back. What's she doing?

Speaker 3 (01:24:38):
Let's call her three sixty ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 13 (01:24:42):
Hey, it's ma Legger. Did you miss yesterday's Tony and
Mo Football Show? The good news is you can listen
to it. Right now or whenever you want, wherever you
want on the iHeartRadio app or the podcast page of
ESPN fifteen thirty dot com.

Speaker 1 (01:24:55):
Genesis brought to you by Buttlight on ESPN fifteen thirty,
the official.

Speaker 2 (01:25:01):
Home of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 3 (01:25:05):
All right, we're back football in the Natti winding down
our number two. Thanks again to Cincy Shirts. If you
missed it earlier, you got to go to store. There
are two retail locations for this to happen, but they
got a new Thanksgiving design out bless this mess. Thanksgiving
twenty twenty five a picture of a Bengal eating turkey.

(01:25:28):
The catch It's only in stores while supplies last, and
customers get a free turkey drop shirt with a fifty
dollars purchase. So go check out CINTI shirts as soon
as possible, especially for all your holiday needs as well.
One thing we didn't talk about Austin, as it relates
to Jamar Chase, the suspension appeal. I got to give

(01:25:49):
it to him. I appreciate the effort. I appreciate the
effort of essentially saying, listen, if I were to on someone, yeah,
I'd spit on his face.

Speaker 2 (01:26:05):
I can't help but laugh. It is right, I can't
help but laugh like.

Speaker 3 (01:26:08):
That was a legitimate report from I believe Ian Rappaport
yesterday that the appeal is gonna be based around the
fact that if he were to spit intentionally on someone,
he'd do it to his face.

Speaker 2 (01:26:19):
I almost think there's like an angle, like they're trying
to take the side that the just the angle. The
angle makes it look like he's spitting on Jalen Ramsey,
but he's not. Actually. I think that's the other side
of it. And I have about a minute of audio
here from Mike Florio, and Florio says this is the

(01:26:40):
argument that Jamar Chase should make in his appeal.

Speaker 38 (01:26:44):
Bengals receiver Jamar Chase has been suspended one game without
pay for spitting on Steelers' safety Jalen Ramsey.

Speaker 2 (01:26:49):
So what will Chase his argument be on appeal. He
clearly won't say he didn't do it. He tried that
one the video shows.

Speaker 38 (01:26:56):
Otherwise, he could make the argument that the NFL's lost
anding precedent is not to suspend a player for spitting,
but to find him and for years that's what the
punishment was. It changed with Jalen carter back in Week
one when the Eagles defensive tackle spit on Cowboys quarterback
Dak Prescott. But you could make the argument he wasn't
really suspended. He was ejected and it was fine the

(01:27:20):
amount of a game check. And they said it was
basically a suspension because he missed all of the game
because he spit on Dak Prescott before the first offensive
play from scrimmage, he still wasn't suspended. That may be
the best argument, That may be the only argument that
Chase can make. There's never been a suspension, a true
suspension for spitting. The punishment has always been a fine.

(01:27:43):
I don't think that that will be successful, but it
is an argument that Jamar Chase can make to Jordan Nelson,
the hearing officer, and we'll see whether or not he
has any shot at playing this weekend against the Patriots.

Speaker 3 (01:27:55):
Okay, thought on that that's a makes sense. Yeah, yeah,
I think he should go with that. Other than the
if I wanted to spit on him, I'd have done
it to his face.

Speaker 2 (01:28:07):
Right, and you know, I know he doesn't want.

Speaker 3 (01:28:10):
There are people that are like wet talkers. That was
a loogie. It was a lugie.

Speaker 11 (01:28:17):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:28:17):
The other thing that's interesting is you heard Mike Florio
mention Jordie Nelson as the hearing officer. It was between
like Jordi Nelson, Derek Brooks or Ramone Foster. Do you
remember Ramone Foster the name I do.

Speaker 11 (01:28:34):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (01:28:35):
Ramone Foster used to be an offensive lineman for the
Pittsburgh Steelers. Oh that ain't who you want hearing it.
And now he's one big hearing officers. And I went
to look him up because I know that I didn't
like him in the past. Not the big Swagu, the
big regul, the big ragu. And Ramone Foster has me

(01:28:58):
blocked on Twitter? What which I probably said something mean
to him in a Bengals Steelers game when I was
like fifteen, would be my guess, wow, you kid though,
Yeah I was. I mean I was coming at you
as a kid. I don't think he said anything to me.
I think it was just I probably said something to

(01:29:20):
him that was enough. Yeah, that was enough to have it. Yeah. Oh,
never tell you the story about how I got blocked
by Lance McAllister. No, I had said something that I
really was fifteen years old. And it was a twenty
ten season where the Reds were making this push for

(01:29:40):
the playoffs, right, They're trying to win the National League Central.
And I would listen to Sports Talk every night and
it felt like all Lance talked about to the fifteen
year old me was what the Cardinals were doing in
this race for the NL Central. And I said something
along the lines of no one cares about the Cardinals?
Can you talk about the rets? Ooh? And Lance? That

(01:30:00):
was worthy of a block? And I think I said,
no one gives a bleep, if you know what I mean,
I know, dude. And so fast forward years later, I'm
working with Lance consistently, right, like for a year or so.
I was his producer on Sports Talk every night. And
one night, at the end of the show, I said

(01:30:20):
to him, Hey, man, it's kind of a weird, weird request,
but could you unblock me on Twitter?

Speaker 3 (01:30:28):
His jaw almost hit the floor. How long into being
the producer? What did it take for you to bring
that up?

Speaker 16 (01:30:37):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:30:37):
How long did you sit with that? I had been
employed here for probably a year. I had probably been
doing his show for a few months. A few months. Now,
in a month or so, you'll be doing a Christmas
special with us? Yeah, Oh, I did that last year too.
His jaw almost hit the floor. He's like, what I
blocked you? And I was like, yeah, I deserved it.

(01:30:57):
I mean I was cursing at you as a fifteen
year old. I deserved it. Where's Phil Elmore? You got
a fifteen year old sending curse words on tweets. I
guarantee he didn't know about that. Well he does now.
He probably does now, Phil, I'm gonna see him tonight. Phil,
take care of this well. I took my dad to
Knippert Stadium on Saturday, first game he's ever seen it

(01:31:19):
at Knippert, and every time he saw Tony pike jersey
he about had an aneurysm. He was like, the point
speak here it is. There's one right there speaking to that.

Speaker 3 (01:31:30):
Someone sent me this on social media, shout out to
the member of the Trans Siberian Orchestra that was rocking
the Adida's fifteen jersey over the weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:31:39):
Yeah, I did see. I appreciate that, and I appreciate Phil.

Speaker 3 (01:31:42):
I just never thought he would allow his fifteen year
old to be sending tweets like that.

Speaker 2 (01:31:46):
Oh he wasn't allowing it. I was doing it, Phil,
take it was my fault his Phil ground him tonight.
I also took him through the corridor at Knippert Stadium
there and showed him the pictures. Oh yeah, like the
twenty one team and the twenty team and blah blah blah.
And I said, guess how many of those Bowl games
they won? What do you say? He's like, how many?

(01:32:08):
I said, none? Not a single one. Phil helped me.
I did. I had to explain to him that there
was somebody wearing your jersey with the Orange Bowl batch
oh and went through good either Tony pick yeah, story
and all that. That's good. I'm glad we provided content. Well,
I just wanted to make sure he fully understood the history.

(01:32:30):
Are we going to talk about what I also said
with the people I saw a number three? Okay, but first,
Scott Sadderfield is gonna get you all caught up to
speed on BYU and close the book on Arizona. Next.
ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 1 (01:32:45):
You've been listening to football in the NATI on ESPN
fifteen thirty, the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals. This
is Tony Pikes since he three sixty about Cincinnati from Cincinnati,
sponsored in hard by Penn Station East Coast Subs Hancreptit

(01:33:08):
hot grilled subs, fresh cut fries in lemonade. It's all
about good taste. Penn Station East Coast Subs orderum line Today.

Speaker 2 (01:33:18):
This is ESPN fifteen.

Speaker 1 (01:33:20):
Thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 3 (01:33:25):
All right, we're here to the third and final hour
of Cincy three sixty on a Tuesday. Thanks to our
friends at Penn Station. Thank you for listening. If you
follow along the week, we do have scheduled guests throughout
the week. We have scheduled press conferences that happen. For instance,
Zach Taylor speaks on Wednesdays, we carry that Scott Saderfield
speaks on Tuesdays, and we like to play that back

(01:33:47):
for you as well, especially with this Cincinnati Bearcat team
now coming off back to back lawsuits with a bye
week sandwiched in between. They host BYU Saturday night. It's
an eight pm start, Big noon Kickoff is in a
very disappointing loss coming out of the buy to Arizona.
They no longer control their own destiny, but they are
still mathematically eligible to have a path to the Big

(01:34:10):
twelve championship that would go away with a lost Saturday
night against b YU. So here is what Scott Saderfield
had to say in his weekly press conference earlier this afternoon.

Speaker 39 (01:34:19):
Excited about this opportunity. B YU A great team. Kline.
He's done a phenomenal job there. Very mature team, UH.

Speaker 11 (01:34:28):
Physical, big coached well.

Speaker 16 (01:34:33):
UH.

Speaker 39 (01:34:33):
Defense is one of the best defenses in the country. Offensively,
you know, coming into the season, they thought, okay, well
a new quarterback. They're they're maybe struggle a little bit,
but back Myers played outstanding. He's playing like he's a
he's an older player, like an experienced player that plays
with great poise, throws the ball really well and then
can run the football, which is you know, he's done

(01:34:53):
a great job as a dual threat, big running back.
He's a great, great player. And then number two is
an outstand receiver. We played against him two years ago.
You know, eleven creates some big time plays, has some
great speed. I think they're very very good into special
teams as well, so not not too much weakness. When
you think about BYU, you know, a team that's used

(01:35:14):
to win and I think they're twenty and three in
the last two years. So an outstanding football team. You know,
opportunity for US. Our seniors Senior day for US, so
twenty two seniors will be be coming out for the
last time. So I'm sure there'll be a lot of
emotions out there, and guys like Gavin Garhart's gonna make
his forty seventh start, which is incredible, you know, one
of the best leaders I've ever been around, and of

(01:35:35):
course Corleone and some of the other guys. I mean,
it's it's just a special group and so exciting day
for them as well.

Speaker 40 (01:35:44):
Any questions you'd mentioned after the game that Evan Pryor
and Caleb Goodie should be back this week. Any update
on that and are you surprised how much you missed him?

Speaker 39 (01:35:55):
No, I'm not surprised so much we missed him. We certainly,
you know, two big playmakers for us that have great
I mean, that's that's certainly something that you want to
have on the field. We feel good about both those
guys being available this week. Obviously, because a week goes on,
we'll know more.

Speaker 11 (01:36:08):
But feel good about those guys.

Speaker 39 (01:36:11):
Goodie for sure will be ready to go, and priors
I said this last week he's very close. Last week,
I feel still feel good about him being available this.

Speaker 11 (01:36:19):
Week running game.

Speaker 41 (01:36:22):
You had the two big explosive plays with Tawee, but
then I think he was ten for twenty six and
the rest of us carries. When you went back and
watched the film, what did Arizona do to quell that?

Speaker 11 (01:36:31):
And what can you do against ba Well, I one
of one of the big runs had him stop on
the right side.

Speaker 39 (01:36:36):
He did a good job of just bouncing it, you know,
and creating a big play on the back side of
that run. They're a good defense. I mean we knew
that coming in, you know. I think I think we
popped some good runs in the first quarter. I think
we had one hundred and forty yards after the first quarter,
so you know, some big runs there, you know, to
get us.

Speaker 11 (01:36:54):
Some points on the board and score. But they're good defense.

Speaker 39 (01:36:59):
They muddy up the front, a lot of movement, a
lot of twists, move using their linebackers. They're good in
the secondary, so they can do a lot of different things,
you know. And I think there are three safeties I
thought played really really good football as well. Uh forty
three's of man a good good football player, played a
lot of ball, you know, and I think we just
you know, we're not consistent enough in the run game

(01:37:20):
there late in the game, you know, particularly in the
in the when we had we had the one touchdown
lead fourteen to seven. I thought our defense at that
point was getting them off the field and holding the
field goal attempts, and that that's where me like, offensively,
you know, we we needed to attack to get to
get up up to scores. You get up two scores, now, okay,
maybe a different ball game. We never were able to

(01:37:41):
do that. And then in the second half when we
were moving the ball some we couldn't get them off
the field.

Speaker 11 (01:37:47):
You know.

Speaker 39 (01:37:47):
We we score to make it a one possession game,
three point game was six and a half minutes, you know,
and then we got the ball back think a minute
and a half, you know. And you know, so we
just didn't did not play complimentary football, like when when
one side of the other needed some help, we do it.

Speaker 11 (01:38:00):
And I think that was a big part of that game.

Speaker 42 (01:38:03):
Coach, you mentioned two standouts on the offensive side of
the ball for BYU. L. J. Martin and Chase Roberts.
What stands out about them and what do you remember
from the last time you guys played. Obviously those two
had three touchdowns.

Speaker 11 (01:38:14):
Come on, yeah, good good players.

Speaker 39 (01:38:17):
Well I remember size really I think you know number
two is a long player that can run, has really
good hands. I remember the player out there on our sideline,
you know, threats that sitting there. It look like he's
getting ready to pick the ball, and then all of
a sudden, two comes out of nowhere. It catches it
and zig zags and scores a touchdown. And the running backs,
I mean, I don't know how big two thirty twenty five,
he's a big back that that that has speed. I

(01:38:40):
think is he leading the big twelve and rushing maybe?
I mean he's he's good. And I think he missed
the game or two with some injuries, but he came back.
I mean he's he's a really good player, a very
solid player.

Speaker 16 (01:38:52):
You know.

Speaker 39 (01:38:52):
I just think they're very efficient in what they do
offensively and in boch Myers taking care of the football.

Speaker 11 (01:38:59):
You know. I think the one game they turned.

Speaker 39 (01:39:01):
It over a couple of times maybe against Texas Tech.
That was the one game they lost this year. So
they just very efficient offense. And they're therefore, you know,
when you play great defense, when the fishing, you give
yourself a chance.

Speaker 11 (01:39:11):
To win Scott.

Speaker 35 (01:39:12):
The last two games obviously haven't gone the way you
guys hoped for, But is there anything you can take
away from them that you think, this is what we
need to do to take that next step towards becoming
a championship caliber program in this conference, which you guys
have been close to this season.

Speaker 11 (01:39:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 39 (01:39:32):
I mean, I just think you have to play complete,
complete football game like you in all three phases.

Speaker 11 (01:39:38):
You have to be very very solid.

Speaker 39 (01:39:40):
I think about the teams that are that are good
in all three phases, they're usually the teams on top.
I think, you know, think about Texas Tech right now.
The way they're playing football BYU, the way they're playing
football all three phases are good. Even if you look
at a national scope, you know, like Indiana, who's done
an unbelievable job. Go look what they're doing on offense
and defense, Like they're top five in a country both.

(01:40:00):
It's amazing to me, like how good you are at
all three phases. You know, if you have one side
of the ball that is not doing what they're supposed
to do, it is going to be hard to win.
You can still win, but it's going to be a
lot more difficult to win. So in order to be
that championship caliber team, you got to be really solid
in all three phases. Just like Saturday, I thought special
teams were solid. We were good enough to win in

(01:40:22):
special teams. Man, we did some good things. You know,
we gotta be a little bit more consistent on others,
the two sides of the ball, I mean, as the
bottom line in that game. And then having said that,
we still had an opportunity, a chance to go win
that game. You just got to make a few more plays.
It just makes it a lot more difficult because the margins.
We talked about this all year. The margins is the
big twelve.

Speaker 1 (01:40:39):
Man.

Speaker 39 (01:40:39):
They're they're they're tight. You know, a play hero play
there could be the difference in the game. And that's
trouven to proven to be true.

Speaker 40 (01:40:46):
Because look at black Myers and swersby stats, they're almost
carbon copies, almost the same build, you know, same type player.
Can Brendan bounce back after two games and obviously just
had difficulty with the man coverage and all that, and
and you kind of know what's coming? Is it in
him to bounce back?

Speaker 2 (01:41:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 39 (01:41:04):
I mean I think so. I mean I said this
after the game. I mean, you know, we had four drops,
potentially five drops in that game. If our guys catch
the football, then his stats are gonna look a lot different,
you know. And I think, you know, I think that's
the part. It's not just sprending. I thought I thought
he had a really bad decision on the first play
of the game, like that was awful. But really after that,
it really played pretty good. I mean, he threw the
ball good. I mean, you know that post ball which

(01:41:25):
has been forty five fifty yards added to his stats.

Speaker 11 (01:41:28):
I mean, you got to catch that ball, you know.
And I think you know, and.

Speaker 39 (01:41:32):
Our receivers will be the first to tell you, yeah,
I got to catch that, you know. And I think
so it just not just on one player. I mean
I think it's the whole team. You got to protect good,
you got to run the good route, you got to
make the catches, and you know, so yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 11 (01:41:45):
Can bounce back, you know.

Speaker 39 (01:41:46):
I think I think that's what we're practicing forward, striving forward,
to go out and play well.

Speaker 11 (01:41:50):
And and to be clicking on all cylinders.

Speaker 41 (01:41:54):
How much, man, are you expecting to see against Bayu'll.

Speaker 39 (01:41:57):
Be some man, I mean, that's what they do you know,
play Man, play three, they mix it up. You're gonna
pay a lot of different things, you know. I think, uh,
you know, they're really good on defense. I think they've
created a lot of turnovers because of that. I think
their corners are good where they're supposed to be. Their
linebackers make plays. I mean a lot of people talk
about their linebackers. I mean their long can run, their

(01:42:19):
physical Yeah, I mean, they're they're they're a solid team.
So we'll we'll, we'll see a little bit everything, but
they're gonna do what they do.

Speaker 41 (01:42:26):
Does a part of you after the struggles with Man,
do you want to not really tear it down but
be more experimental to try something different, or do you
stick to what's gotten you to seven three?

Speaker 16 (01:42:37):
No?

Speaker 39 (01:42:37):
I mean I think we gotta we gotta obviously try
to do things that will get us, get us in
a position to make plays.

Speaker 11 (01:42:43):
So whatever that takes.

Speaker 39 (01:42:46):
You know, it's one thing that we can sit here
as coaches and we can draw up all kind of stuff,
you know, and then our guys have to go execute,
you know.

Speaker 11 (01:42:51):
I mean, so it takes both of that.

Speaker 39 (01:42:53):
You know, we have to put our guy position and
players in position to make plays.

Speaker 11 (01:42:57):
Then they have to go make the place.

Speaker 39 (01:42:58):
I mean, you have to get the protect, you got
to make the throw, you got to make the catch,
you know. And it's difficult playing against good defenses. If
you guys look up defensive pass efficiency in our league,
Arizona or are they ranked top five Utah or they
ranked six? I think you Arizona's three in the country,

(01:43:21):
their number six in the country.

Speaker 11 (01:43:22):
There's one hundred and thirty sixteen. They're pretty good on defense.

Speaker 39 (01:43:26):
This team is too. I think this team's ranked thirteenth
and pass official defense. So you know, we're playing a
lot of good teams.

Speaker 11 (01:43:31):
With that.

Speaker 39 (01:43:33):
When you're playing those teams, there is less room for era.
You have to be on point, like you have to
run Chris Brouts, you have to throw the ball on time.

Speaker 11 (01:43:40):
You've got to be able to make contested catches.

Speaker 39 (01:43:42):
So all those things come into play, and you know,
if you're not, it's going to be one of those
days you gonna look up and look at the stats
and it's not very good, you know, And so so
you got to be on point. We got to continue
to work to get better.

Speaker 42 (01:43:53):
Coach, You've obviously been around a lot of veteran leaders
throughout your coaching career. Is it going to be a
little emotional on Saturday night seeing Gavin and Dante take
the field for the last time after pouring their heart
and soul into this program last night?

Speaker 39 (01:44:06):
It's this, it's the finale for those guys in Knippert
Man and and and for those guys in particular, I
think about Gavin, who's committed as a sophomore here in
high school.

Speaker 11 (01:44:17):
That's a long time man that he's been.

Speaker 39 (01:44:19):
You know, he's been in his blood, sweat and tears
for the Bearcats and know and for him to go
out and I think it's just that's the last time
he knows he's gonna be running out in the stadium there.

Speaker 11 (01:44:28):
This will be very emotion for those guys, but also for.

Speaker 39 (01:44:31):
US coaches because of what you know, particularly those guys
have done for this program. They've seen a lot of
change and coaches.

Speaker 11 (01:44:37):
New conference and all that.

Speaker 39 (01:44:39):
But man, they're great human beings and you know they
obviously have bright futures ahead for them.

Speaker 2 (01:44:46):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:44:46):
That is a part of Scott's Saderfield from earlier Today. Again,
I think it's cool for for a lot of seniors
on this team to get to go out with a
nipp at night. From experience, there's nothing better than a
night game at Knippert Stadium. But the idea of complimentary football.
That's when this team was winning, and they won seven
games in a row, they were playing complimentary football. And

(01:45:08):
in each of these losses the last couple of games,
it's been little chinks in the armor, turnovers on offense inefficiency.
When you have a fourteen to seven leading, you get
the ball back four straight times, you got to go
put points on the board. You've got to expand that lead.
Defense has not gotten the stops. Special teams has not
been as strong. It's complimentary football and that's what the

(01:45:30):
best teams are doing. And I certainly agree to that.
But Scott' Satifield alluded to it U Tah great defensive ranking,
Arizona great defensive ranking BYU great defensive ranking. Guess what,
You've eventually got to win that game. You've got to
beat that team, and that has eluded this team for
the most part in the Scotts Saderfield era. That has

(01:45:52):
to change. On Saturday night. You can't go to three
straight losses and then you can't open the door to
end the season with another four game lose streak before
a bowl game. It's just it is a very important
game Saturday night at Nippert Stadium. If you are holding
on and you're clinging to the hope that there is

(01:46:12):
still a path for the Cincinnati Bearcats, there are two
there are four two lost teams in the Big Twelve.
Utah already has the heads up against the Cincinnati Bearcats.
You would you would take the heads up against BYU,
so you wouldn't have to worry about them. But you
got a factor in Houston who still has to play

(01:46:33):
TCU and then Baylor. Not an easy stretch for Houston,
so that's possible. You would have to factor in Arizona State.
Arizona State going forward has a game against Colorado and
then they finish up their season against Arizona. That's a
possibility because we just watched that Arizona team play against
the Cincinnati Bearcats. The problem I think is going to

(01:46:54):
be Utah. Utah hosts Kansas State on Saturday, and then
they travel to Kansas on the day after Thanksgiving. So
there is still a slight path, albeit not ideal. Because
of the situation the Bearcats have put themselves in by
not getting that win against Arizona and continuing that idea

(01:47:14):
of win out and you control your own destiny. You
now got to count on the help of others. We
got plenty more to get to today, including your phone calls.
Five one, three, seven, four nine, fifteen thirty. We'll open
the phone lines back up. We've got UC BYU. We've

Speaker 2 (01:48:19):
Shout out to the weather today. It is a little
bit purple ring going on today. Come on, maybe a
purple Friday at pay Corps. Ooh what do we think
about that. I don't want to take sides. All right,
we'll do that Friday with me. Make picks. Well, I'm
not here Friday. I can tell you who I'm gonna pick.

Speaker 11 (01:48:37):
Who.

Speaker 2 (01:48:39):
Give me Saint X.

Speaker 9 (01:48:40):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (01:48:43):
Wow, there isn't an elder person who just said something
really offensive to me in a private text message. Okay,
so because of that, I'm out. Deal on elder, I
get it. Give me Rocky Boyman, Luke Keikley, who's it?
Max Claire? Wow? In the Saint X Bomber Chase Wolf,
Chase Wolf, Yes, about that right, we love the Wolf family. Man.

(01:49:03):
Might just let this play for a while. I'll tell
you what. I used to be the public address announcer
for Sidney Yellowjacket Baseball, and we'd get these yellow jackets,
we'd get these rain delays. That's where we'd go with
and I just blast this. I'll tell you the parents
loved it. A little purple rain, Just a little purple
rain on a day like today. Come well done, sing
it to us friends, well done? Wow wow? All right,

(01:49:32):
let's do this for a second. By the way, thanks
to penn Station here now number three. You think Prince
ever had pen station absolutely, Yeah, did did. That's one
of the craziest days on this show. I thought you
were lying through your teeth. Nope, let me get this.

Speaker 3 (01:49:54):
Uh, I'm I'm minding my business this this morning, and
I'm talking. I'm looking at stuff with the Bengals and
talk about Trey Hendrickson, and we've talked about Jamar Chase
and what's going on around this team and certainly a
big week for the Cincinnati Bearcats. What I didn't have
on my card today was talking at all about the
Reds or Hunter Green. And then I came across the

(01:50:15):
story by Greg Kufner on Cincinnati Reds for SI, and
it essentially outlines how there are members of the Reds
organization who may be unhappy with Hunter Green. Now, we've
seen a lot of these trade rumors that have come up,
and you kind of just quickly shoot it down because
it's like, why would you trade Hunter Green. He's got

(01:50:37):
one of the most team friendly deals at all of baseball,
and he's a great starting pitcher. And then the more
you kind of reading between the lines, you know he
had the groin injury, he was rehabbing, he reported symptoms
and canceled his own rehab assignment, but the MRI accorded
to the Reds and Terry Francona came back clean, so

(01:50:59):
it kind of just got pushed on. Well, it's gonna
be when Hunter's comfortable, It's gonna bree when Hunter's ready
to go. I just feel like any time you read
as much about a player as we've heard or read
about Hunter Green, maybe there's more there. Maybe there's more
there into teammate leader, clubhouse, maybe there's more into how

(01:51:23):
he was coming back from injury. I don't know because
we're not there, But does this feel something to you,
Austin that is is something that's just kind of thrown
at the wall, or do you think that there's got
some staying.

Speaker 2 (01:51:36):
Power here with an article like this. I get the
sense that the Hunter Green trade rumors basically came from
this story and the idea that there was some sort
of conflict between Hunter Green and the Rents where instead
of coming back maybe at the timeline the Reds expected

(01:51:57):
him to come back, Hunter Green went and got his
own second opinion, third opinion. And I think the word
that Charlie Goldsmith used when he was on our air
over the summer was it's Hunter's timeline, which would to
me signal the idea of a disagreement between the Reds
and their medical staff and Hunter Green. I would assume

(01:52:22):
there might be a layer of distrust there based off
some of the injuries we've seen in the past, and
we've spent a lot of time on this show making
fun of and questioning the timelines and medical staff that
the Reds have. We're not doctors, we don't pretend to be.
But there have been multiple times where players or managers
or others have kind of put their foot in their

(01:52:43):
mouth based off of this staff, and so I think
Hunter was especially cautious with his injury to the point
where it was probably frustrating for Reds fans, for other
players on the team, for the coaching staff. I'm sure
all of it, and I would assume that that's where
the idea of a disconnect could lead to a trade.

(01:53:08):
That's how I read this story.

Speaker 3 (01:53:11):
Yeah, and again this is us speculating. This is obviously
nothing we know. But I even think if you go
down on this article, Nick Krawl essentially addressed the rumors
and said, look, we're trying to do what's best for
our team. I don't want to rule anything out. But
that's a hard one to actually say, hey, we're going
to trade the guy that has a chance to be
the ace of your staff and top of the rotation
guy going to the postseason. But even that, it's not

(01:53:34):
as reassuring as shooting something down and saying no, we're not.

Speaker 2 (01:53:36):
Going to move him. Well, I think that's Nick Krawl's
way of shooting it down. I don't think it was
ever a true consideration that the Reds would trade Hunter Green.
I think it was just, hey, this thing happened, and
I wonder if that would be enough for them to
consider it. I don't think the Reds ever really have
considered it. Yeah, it doesn't feel like they have no

(01:53:58):
and they shouldn't no reason to. We've talked about it
a lot. He's the eighty third or whatever it is,
highest paid picture you have a chance to win. It's
with Hunter Green. If the guy is making thirty million
dollars and he can't start and he's having these injuries,
then that's a different story. Maybe you do trade him,
but he's not and he's under control for a long time,
and we have seen when he's healthy he's as good

(01:54:19):
as anybody in baseball, and that includes guys like Paul Skeins,
because there was a stretch this summer where those two
were nasty. Yeah, just flat out and so too. Yeah, exactly.
So I think that's like the the bread crumbs of
like what might have happened to like even consider this
being a thing. But I doubt that the Reds, at
least Nick Crawl never really considered something like this. Yeah,

(01:54:44):
still something to But if that's the case, though that
like there was some sort of disagreement between what Hunter
felt was best for him and the Reds organization. I
would give them credit for allowing Hunter to go and
do his own thing, but also I would be working
hard on that relationship this offseason to fix it so

(01:55:06):
that we don't face this type of issue again, because
that's not good for anybody. No, let's uh, let's take
a call before we get to a break here. Tim
is calling in.

Speaker 16 (01:55:20):
Hello, Tim, Hey, how you guys doing.

Speaker 37 (01:55:25):
Hey?

Speaker 10 (01:55:25):
I want to ask you Tonya, how's the help of Soresby?

Speaker 16 (01:55:30):
Because he was hurt the night game?

Speaker 3 (01:55:32):
Right, Yeah, Austin you heard him earlier. I believe he
said that the ankle was is okay. Yeah, our guy
Keegan Nicholson. Yeah, he was asked earlier.

Speaker 2 (01:55:40):
He says, is his ankle is good even though he
got rolled up on against Arizona.

Speaker 3 (01:55:44):
Yeah, I think it inhibited from running late in that
game against Arizona. He did get rolled up on, but
as we learned today, he is healthy.

Speaker 2 (01:55:53):
Yeah ahead of b y U.

Speaker 16 (01:55:56):
All right, thanks? He awesome real quick.

Speaker 13 (01:55:58):
Hey listen, I'm gonna I understand you want to tax
is fine. I put a little side bet on a
fun side bet.

Speaker 2 (01:56:08):
What do you got?

Speaker 16 (01:56:10):
I don't know, like uh uh hot, like like the
kind of him.

Speaker 2 (01:56:17):
I'll think about it, Tim, I'll get back to Okay,
all right, thank you, Tim, Okay, we'll think about it.
That's some hot fun Sunday bets. I've I've picked against
elder once ever and they won. So if I pick
against them again. So you're trying to help him, perhaps,
I don't know. Unless the person who you know said

(01:56:41):
this awful thing to me you're asking for, unless he apologizes,
that could be how you know my mind and comes
to an end based on a text that you received,
already got a text. I see how it is. You'll
be sorry. Okay, you have an opportunity to fix this
they don't want to fix it. Now there see what happened,
doublin down. I don't want to do this to the

(01:57:01):
great folks at Elder Love the people at Elder Well,
I think you already gone runk and others. You already
have my guy.

Speaker 3 (01:57:08):
We'll take a break more to go next to ESPN.
I wish they could go to this gate Cincinnati sports station.

Speaker 9 (01:57:14):
The school is in session when the Bengals look to
take New England to task. Who new history class could
get this violent? Speaking of the Patriots. I wonder how
I would look in a powdered wig. Probably not good.
Coverage begins at nine am Sunday, stream for free on
the new and improved iHeart Radio app or ESPN fifteen thirty,

(01:57:37):
the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 2 (01:57:45):
I got to bring something up, Tony. Okay, and I
swear on everything. Okay, I am not trying to rage
me now, listen, I promise you I'm not.

Speaker 3 (01:57:56):
When you say something like that, yes, you are a
saying I'm going to rage bait.

Speaker 2 (01:58:01):
No, I'm saying this could be taken as rage bait,
but it's not because I don't want to get people
riled up. I swear to God, I'm not trying to
do that. So I was at the UC game on Saturday,
and I had a great time. A lot has changed

(01:58:22):
in the nine years since I had been there, Sure,
and people were lovely, people were wonderful. But I was
shocked that I saw at least five people because I
kept count at least five people wearing Ohio State football
gear inside Knippert Stadium for that big twelve clash between

(01:58:46):
the Bearcats and the Wildcats. I'm shocked by that number
one just because I know UC fans do not like
Ohio State. Sure, and just kind of looking for an
explanation or is there is there something I might have
missed here? Well, because I could not believe what I

(01:59:09):
was seeing. And then I think at one point there
was a gentleman that saw me and was shocked to
see me. Now I wasn't wearing Ohio State gear. I
tried to be as respectful as I could. I had
a red hat that said Cincinnati on it. It's a
it's a Red's hat, but it's just a Cincinnati across
the front. I was all black. I was trying to
look like I was on a coach sideline but I

(01:59:33):
I couldn't believe what I had seen. Now, Nippert Stadium
holds around forty thousand. Huh.

Speaker 3 (01:59:39):
Anytime you get a big gathering together, you're gonna have
some eggs, some bad eggs in the building.

Speaker 2 (01:59:44):
Interesting.

Speaker 3 (01:59:45):
I would also imagine that with UC Arizona being a
noon game, that there were probably people in attendance that
probably double dipped.

Speaker 2 (01:59:55):
Oh that's a good point.

Speaker 3 (01:59:56):
That watched the game and then made the drive up
to colle to watch the night game in the show.

Speaker 2 (02:00:01):
Okay, maybe they were just already ready for that, Okay,
makes sense. I just I to me, no, I swear
because I I debated even bringing it up, but then
I saw we got a call here from Yeah, what's
Matt want to talk about? Balling?

Speaker 11 (02:00:16):
Ain't easy? What a balling?

Speaker 2 (02:00:19):
Hey, how's it going?

Speaker 20 (02:00:20):
Guys?

Speaker 2 (02:00:20):
Thanks for taking my call? Sure, absolutely, thanks for calling.

Speaker 43 (02:00:24):
Well, yeah, Austin, I really appreciate you. I'm really calling
to talk to Austin. This is this is going to
be a Buckeye centered talk if that's okay with you, guys, Yeah,
I appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (02:00:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 43 (02:00:36):
So basically what you're seeing is all these Ohio State
fans Ohio State.

Speaker 2 (02:00:40):
We're going to carry the torch for the state of Ohio.

Speaker 43 (02:00:42):
I've been talking with my UC fans and they seem
to really be okay with the idea. I texted them,
I said, guys, I know things are kind of falling
apart in Clifton, Easy, that's okay, I get it. But
we can carry the torch for you in Columbus.

Speaker 2 (02:00:54):
We're going all the way.

Speaker 43 (02:00:55):
Austin, I want to hear from you. How do you
feel confidence? Why this year for our chance to reap
do you have a confidence level?

Speaker 2 (02:01:02):
Uh? My confidence is an eight out of ten. And
the big thing that I'm most worried about is if
the Jeremiah Smith injury turns out to be worse than
we thought. And also Indiana scares the hell out of me.

Speaker 43 (02:01:20):
Okay, So was he limping before the game against Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:01:26):
So, According to Ohio State's radio broadcast, he had quad
tightness that he had been dealing with the day of
the game, quadrat He played like the first quarter and
a half they got up and then he didn't really
play much after that.

Speaker 43 (02:01:43):
And Tony, this is the Power five conversation.

Speaker 2 (02:01:46):
This is being.

Speaker 16 (02:01:52):
Not when you when.

Speaker 2 (02:01:58):
The power no.

Speaker 43 (02:02:01):
Listen on surviving this schedule on a week to week baseball.

Speaker 2 (02:02:06):
A part this is this is tough football. We're talking
about big ten baby. Oh yeah, Rutgers is gonna put
up a big fight. Greg Ciano and his wood chopping.
No chance we could beat him. We could beat him
with with me and Austin at wide receiver. This week.
What's your best route they're balling? Probably a fly pattern?

(02:02:27):
All right?

Speaker 3 (02:02:29):
Maybe start picking up the seven on seven championships instead
of three on three.

Speaker 43 (02:02:35):
I listen, hey, I played very well, played exceptionally well
this year.

Speaker 2 (02:02:40):
I just I gotta I gotta build around myself. You
know that, you do? I get it, I get it?
All right? It's that okay, thank you, thank you guys.
You know does didn't our guy Rocky Boyman and he's
like starting to seven on seven leagues. I don't know,
By the way, who's to say? I mean, could we
maybe build a team? Could you throw? Oh yeah? Do

(02:03:01):
you think legit? You could? You know, if you get
a band of no, no, a band of misfits like
me and balling ain't easy, and a guy like James
Orpene or Tearing Bland, you think we could win some
seven on seven yes, with you at quarterback.

Speaker 3 (02:03:15):
And James would be my center. He'd be my least
confident guy to throw a ball to. By the way,
just to put a bow on this, five people out
of forty thousand is point zero one two five percent.
I know, I'm just putting that out there. No, I know,
like that's point zero one two five. Honest to god,

(02:03:35):
I was shocked. I really was. You probably go to
fifteen jerseys in Columbus too. You see jerseys. You see
maybe people were asked to wear black and that was
the only black shirt they had.

Speaker 2 (02:03:48):
Well, the one guy was not wearing black, and he
was he was trying to stand out, all right. There
was a decent amount of Arizona fans there too. There
was they travel well, which that's the story play they
always do. I think if I was a fan of
another Big twelve team like Nippert would be on my bucket.
Cincinnati would be a that's cool. I would like to come. Absolutely.

Speaker 3 (02:04:09):
I'll tell you a place A lot of people would
like to go to, Oakley Greens. Moulagger's posted up there
right now. We'll go to him next. Posted on ESPN
fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 20 (02:04:20):
Hey It's it's time for Cincy three sixty Quick Hits fifteenth.

Speaker 3 (02:04:25):
They're looking for We found Moy's at Oakley Greens. The
weather outside may be frightful, but Oakley Greens inside, I'm
sure is delightful. Moe's there right now, Mo, what's happening.

Speaker 13 (02:04:35):
Well, we're getting ready for a show. This is going
to be a short show. We're done at five o'clock today. Wow,
the UK basketball pre game show is going to bump
us out of the way in our early Kentucky and
Michigan State in the Champions Classic at the home of
the Knicks, Madison Square Garden. But we're doing something special
today here at Oakley Greens. You know, it's it's the
week before Thanksgiving. Folks are getting into that festive mood.

(02:04:57):
And so if you come to Oakley Greens and if
you were overserved, our producer today, Drew wester Heidi, has
offered to drive people home. And what he has told
me is tell folks don't call an uber, instead call
a Druber.

Speaker 3 (02:05:10):
If I stop buying to say hello today, will Drew
park my car?

Speaker 13 (02:05:15):
I don't know if we're doing that.

Speaker 2 (02:05:17):
Yes, Okay, knee, I've got this thing going on with
my knee.

Speaker 13 (02:05:22):
So five dollars valet plus a tid. Can I chime
in on your Hunter Green conversation please that you guys
were having. I think there is this belief that is
I think I think it's a misnomer that the Reds
have like this overabundance of starting pitching, which allows them
to just trade away all of their established pictures. At

(02:05:44):
the end of the year, they were kind of like
running out of guys they had to go trade for
Zach Lttel. I think there's this belief that, like they
have so many pictures that they could just give away Nicolodola,
or give away Hunter Green, or like I know nobody
wants to give those guys. Number One, all I hear
is you can never have enough starting pitching. Okay, well good,

(02:06:05):
then don't just trade away dudes. Number two. I'm not
sure they have enough established starting pitchers for them to
be cavalier about moving on from guys who are proven,
whether that's Hunter Green or Andrew Abbott or Nicko Littolo
or anybody else.

Speaker 3 (02:06:20):
What are you gout coming up on the show today?
Outside of some Hunter Green might just talk about that
for a few hours.

Speaker 2 (02:06:25):
I like this.

Speaker 13 (02:06:26):
Paul Danner Junior is gonna be here. He has written
in this sea of like bad takes about Jamar. Chase
count on Paul Danner Junior to write the definitive, like, mature,
sensible piece for the Athletic dot Com. Paul and I
are gonna talk a little bit about Jamar, and then
we're gonna talk about the team itself, Bengals getting ready
to play the Patriots, a million different issues, Sean Sayatstat's

(02:06:52):
or in the four o'clock hour, Taylor Twelveman's gonna call
in at four forty five to look ahead to the
Big tilt on Sunday. We're gonna spend some time on
U see football. Not so much Ohios State fans being
at the game. But I I this program right now,
right now, is that a cross roads? The Scott Saderfield
era is at a cross roads. This can now go

(02:07:13):
one of two ways. They're not gonna win a Big
twelve title. They're not gonna play in a Big twelve
title game, but they have a chance to make people
feel good about a nine to three season or make
people feel like the program's identity is they melt down
at the end of the season. So we're gonna spend
some time on that as well, and then I will
do I will do one segment on my own on
Jamar Chase.

Speaker 3 (02:07:33):
Are you gonna do anything about UC Louisville Friday Night
or any guests or.

Speaker 2 (02:07:36):
Anything tomorrow on the show?

Speaker 13 (02:07:40):
Oh, Wes Miller, Wow, the coach of the Bearcats and
John Cunningham. Unbelievable Bearcats will be He is supposed to
be on my show tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (02:07:48):
Unbelievable Because what I am gonna.

Speaker 13 (02:07:50):
Do Wes Miller is having a press conference at eleven o'clock.
I am gonna go to this press conference and I
am gonna pull him aside and say, Coach, we need
to talk about this UC for versus Louisville game, and uh,
I need you to talk with me about it. And
so Wes and I are going to do that tomorrow
and then hopefully because I don't want there to be
like more Louisville fans than Cincinnati fans. You can't have that.

(02:08:13):
So I don't tell people what to do with their
free time and money. This is one of min This
is one of my core beliefs. I don't tell people
what to do with their time and money unless I'm
being paid to, but I don't. I don't want to
hear see a r I we need more Bearcat fans
and Louisville fans, and so what I am anticipating is
once I have Wes tomorrow, fans are gonna go. You

(02:08:33):
know what, I'm gonna go see his team upset the
Louisville Cardinals downtown.

Speaker 3 (02:08:36):
Makes sense, makes perfect sense, Jamar Chase, do you do
you appreciate the appeal in saying that if I really
wanted to spit, I would have been able to spit
on his face? Is that Do you think that appeal
carries anyway?

Speaker 16 (02:08:50):
No?

Speaker 13 (02:08:51):
Yeah, I think the I think the broader appeal is
there's never been a case like this where a player, yeah,
has been suspended definitively for a game. Jalen Carter didn't.
He was ejected, but he technically wasn't suspended, so they
said time served. He's gonna get a one game suspension.

(02:09:11):
What I want to know is who takes his place?
It's gonna be Jermaine Burton. Who it's gonna be Jermaine
Burton diving into that playbook, going you know what I
can be count I'm gonna show up on time.

Speaker 2 (02:09:22):
I'm gonna be there. I'm gonna know which routes to run.

Speaker 13 (02:09:25):
I'm gonna stay awake in the meetings, and Joe Flacco
or Jake Browning or whoever's playing quarterback for the Bengals
on Sunday can rely on me or should they try?
Geno's don't at wide receiver because he can't play safe.
I don't know, but no, the the idea of, well,
you know, if I really meant to spin on him,
I would have spit in his face. Jamar, Come on, man,
I love you, but dude, just you spit. You got caught,

(02:09:48):
take your punishment, pay your fine.

Speaker 2 (02:09:50):
Move on.

Speaker 15 (02:09:51):
Mo.

Speaker 2 (02:09:51):
I put up a poll question that asked if Trey
Hendrickson would play again this season. Eighty three percent said no.
Where do you stand on Trey Henderson in his future
with the Bengals?

Speaker 27 (02:10:02):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (02:10:03):
It's one of the things I'm gonna ask Paul about.

Speaker 3 (02:10:05):
And it's weird because, like, like what we talked about
this yesterday, Like Zach Taylor is never one to like
openly rule someone out on a Monday press conference, and
for the last two weeks it's been well, he's doubtful.

Speaker 2 (02:10:16):
It's just been odd.

Speaker 13 (02:10:17):
He's doubtful, but he's weak to week, but he might
have surgery. He's a captain, but he's not going to Pittsburgh.
He's writing the kids book now, which is admirable. Like
there's there's just a lot of weirdness. I'm gonna guess
the answer is no. But there's still seven games to go.
It feels like it feels like, you know, they got

(02:10:38):
to play two more games and then this hell escape
of a season could be over. There's seven more games
to go. At some point, I think he's gonna want
to prove that he's healthy because he's about to hit
free agency.

Speaker 2 (02:10:50):
M hm.

Speaker 13 (02:10:50):
And so does he view it as I undermine my
asking price if I finish the season not healthy. Also,
he might need surgery at the end of the year.
And so if he's told you need surgery, doesn't I
don't know, man, that the Trey Hendrickson experience can be
described a lot of different ways. Right now, I would
go with weird. I'll guess he doesn't play because the

(02:11:11):
season is going nowhere. But man, with Trey, like nothing
would surprise you, Like it wouldn't surprise you if he
doesn't play and he's rolled out, but he still puts
the uniform on and stands on the sideline. It wouldn't
surprise you if, like, he doesn't play, but he sits
in the stands and he wears like Tennessee Titans gear,
Like I mean literally, no, it wouldn't surprise me if

(02:11:32):
he's like, yeah, I'm gonna play and then he shows
up and doesn't have his helmet on, Like no, No,
outcome with Trey Hendrickson would be surprising. So I don't
want this to end by the way I want them
the franchise tag him because I'm not. I still have topics,
I still have things I want to say about Trey Hendrickson.
I don't I can't end this, Okay. You know it's
kind of like a like a weird relationship that you're
in where you know, deep down inside it's probably time

(02:11:54):
to move on. But then there's things about it and
you're like, I just can't quit them. You know, those
crazy operas aren't kind of entertain That's kind of how
I feel.

Speaker 2 (02:12:01):
About it today. This is it.

Speaker 3 (02:12:03):
Finally Mo his twelfth place MVP season in twenty thirteen,
where he hit twenty one home runs and batted two
eighty five the loan year in Cincinnati. Is that enough
to make Shin Sue Chew a Hall of Famer?

Speaker 37 (02:12:18):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:12:18):
Is he on your ballot?

Speaker 26 (02:12:19):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:12:19):
Are you voting him in.

Speaker 11 (02:12:21):
To be in the Hall of Fame?

Speaker 13 (02:12:22):
Yes, I haven't really looked at the new class. Is
there anybody who's like a slam dunk first ballot Hall
of Famer?

Speaker 2 (02:12:28):
On it? It ancient suit Chew. No, Austin, did you
think of anybody Carlos Beltround to me?

Speaker 13 (02:12:38):
Agreed Cole Hamils and is un. I'd have to look
at the numbers. Yeah, Cole Hamil's pitched one of the
best postseason games of all time Ryan Brown in Game three.
Uh No, and not because of the steroids, just that
the overall body of work is not Hall of Fame worthy.
I think Carlos Beltrans is, and I think he's it's
unfairly used against him. The whole sign stealing thing in Houston.

(02:13:00):
Shin su Chow, though, was fascinating that one year here. Man,
he was awesome, And what I remember was when they
didn't bring him back, It's like, what do you got
for Shin suit Chu? What are you gonna do to
replace him, like we've got Billy Hamilton. Yeah, okay, but
he can't hit, can he? Well he's really fast, Yeah,
but he can't hit. No, but he's really fast. Yeah,
I know, but he can't hit. Canny, he's really I nobody,

(02:13:23):
Like he's not a good offensive player, Like he's never hit.
So you're gonna replace like the best leadoff hittering the
sport with the guy who can't hit. Yeah, because he's
really fast. And it just went round and around for years.

Speaker 2 (02:13:34):
Yeh's still going on. What about another former red Matt Camp.

Speaker 13 (02:13:41):
He's in the Hall of Fame as I'm concerned for
dating Rihanna.

Speaker 2 (02:13:44):
Okay, well that's that's it. We're done. We have a
great show. Tell Drew I'll be there soon.

Speaker 13 (02:13:52):
Drew, he's the the Drew ber Drew takes. Do you
take Venmo for parking cars? Venmo cash? Yeah, okay, five
dollars plus a tip to Vala can't wait microphone on.
He's trying to be a great show.

Speaker 2 (02:14:08):
I can't wait.

Speaker 3 (02:14:09):
