Happy Friday and welcome in Friday Football Frenzy. ESPN fifteen
thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. Hope you're doing well thanks to
our friends at Skyline Chilly here now at number one
as well. It's Friday. We're gonna have fun. That's the
only thing we know how to do on a Friday afternoon.

(01:03):
We're gonna make some high school, college and NFL picks.
Along the way. We're gonna talk to Tom gallaird Er,
Tommy g the Voice of FC Cincinnati.

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Why.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
I'll tell you why, because hell is real. Hell is real,
and it's gonna be real on Monday at TQL Stadium
when Columbus takes on FC Cincinnati. We'll get the latest
from Tommy g We'll have normal Friday talkbacks, and of
course Charlie Goldsmith will join us at one o'clock. There

(01:33):
is a trade request from the Cincinnati Bengals that we
have to discuss from Logan Wilson. Speaking of another Wilson,
Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner are both out Sunday's game
for the Jets against the Bengals.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Talk to Austin before the show. I think we're in agreement.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
That changes a little bit of the feeling on how
this should go on Sunday. We have some jamar Cha
audio from yesterday that we will get to as well.
Before we get to any of that, Austin, we'd like
to take this first segment and normally just kind of
look around what's going on in the sports world, and
as mystified as I am at what's going on in

(02:15):
the NBA with these gambling rings, as excited as I
am for World Series Game one tonight, Bearcats in Arkansas
to scrimmage John Klibari's razorbacks. A crazy night in the
NBA from a game standpoint last night, what I want
to know at first, Austin, what on earth are the

(02:37):
Minnesota Vikings doing with their organization? I watched this game
last night. Chargers dominated the Vikings. JJ McCarthy is essentially
jumping over people on the sideline. Even though he's not
able to play because of an ankle injury. He looked
more than healthy. Carson Wentz trots out there wins is terrible.

(02:57):
The Minnesota Vikings have Justin Jeffers if, Kevin O'Connell, if
Brian Flores, and it just feels like they are completely wasting.

Speaker 3 (03:11):
All of it.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
I watched that game last night, Austin, wondering what is
this organization doing and what is this product they are
putting out on the field when they have a competitive
advantage first anyone they play at wide receiver and at coaching,
why not try to win in Minnesota? I just don't
understand it well.

Speaker 4 (03:31):
I would completely disagree that they aren't trying to win
or that they aren't good enough to win. I think
the biggest issue is that they messed up the quarterback.
They allowed Sam Darnold to walk. They put their chips
in the basket of or their eggs in the basket
of JJ McCarthy. He hasn't worked out. Carson Wentz has
not worked out. Aaron Jones has not been one hundred percent.
They still had Jordan Mason most of the time. Jordan Addison.

(03:54):
Jordan Addison has had a few issues, but he was
suspended for the first three games of this season. They
completely revamped their offensive line. We talked a lot about that,
and they've had offensive line injuries all season long as well.
Their best player not named Justin Jefferson, I think is
Andrew van Ginkel. He didn't play last night. So I

(04:15):
think they have kind of had this run of bad
quarterback play coupled with injuries at big spots, and it's
led to a product that's not really easy to watch.
Don't forget Ryan Kelly, their starting center, one of the
best in the NFL on IR already this season. So
I don't know that I look at it and be like,
this team isn't trying to win as much as I'm like,

(04:36):
they just haven't had a good run here with the
quarterback play and the injuries. All right, they were right
there with Philadelphia a couple of weeks ago. They obviously
anytime you play on the road on a Thursday night.
It's not easy. We know that really well. They've they've
they're inconsistent, But I don't know that. I'm like, do
this organization no, And I didn't before the season because

(04:59):
of j Jim McCarthy.

Speaker 2 (05:00):
And that's why I think that the organization has let
him down, whether it's the decision on JJ McCarthy or
what Like, I genuinely believe if if O'Connor had a
top ten quarterback in the league, I don't know how
you'd stop his offense.

Speaker 4 (05:13):
Sure, they also with that, but also they let Daniel
Jones and Sam Darnold Walls. Sure, and part of that
I think was the belief that Kevin O'Connell could make
anything right. And yeah, I think they had a big
miss with JJ McCarthy and said that from the very beginning.
The guy's not a good player. And obviously he's a
lot healthier than they're letting you think based off the

(05:33):
way he was avoiding guys on the sideline last night.
But yeah, I mean, I just think it's been a
difficult season for them. But I don't know that I
would say they're completely out of it. Yeah, I mean
they have, they have a hard schedule. Yeah, I think
they're done. Bobby Hart made a siding last night on
Thursday Night Football Gold to see Bobby Hart getting in there.

(05:55):
I thought the Chargers actually got as semblance of a
running game going, which led to them being able to
have some I also think that the Chargers and their
ability to find Lad McConkie made a big difference. By
the way Vikings go to Detroit next and then the
Baltimore Ravens before they host the Bears and then go
to Green Bay. So yes, it gets much harder before

(06:15):
it gets any easier for the Minnesota Vikings. I think
with the Chargers, justin Herbert has not been afraid to
tuck it and run this year, and that's opened up
some parts of their offense. And he's looked really athletic
and smart in the way that he does that. And
their offense, I mean, it's built around being able to

(06:35):
run the football. I mean, who knew about Camani Vidhal
up until two weeks ago. Dude had one hundred and
seventeen yards on the ground. Last night, Herbert almost at
one hundred yards. He had sixty two to go with
two twenty seven through the air. So it's a well
balanced offense, and it makes a huge, huge difference for
the Chargers when Joe Alt is available, control Alt delete

(06:58):
while over at that tackle position.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
How about Night three of the NBA season delivers again
just two games last night Thunder Pacers Finals rematch that
goes to double overtime.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Two games, two double overtimes. Yeah, for the defending champion.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
Thunder Shake Guildris Alexander went for fifty five in that
one last night.

Speaker 4 (07:17):
Twenty three from the free throw.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Insane insane Thunder moved to two and oh they beat
the Pacers. And then how about Steph Curry still got it?
They overcome do the Warriors a fifty piece from Aaron
Gordon last night. Aaron Gordon dropped fifty in a game
the Joker. He gets his season started right where he
usually leaves off. Twenty one, thirteen and ten, another triple double.

(07:41):
But Steph Curry last night did things that Steph Curry
always does. Forty two points on the night. He was
unbelievable down the stretch. He made six threes last night.
They've gotten two good games out of Jimmy Butler, some
pretty consistent playing and the Warriors are two and oh
as well. Another good night in the National Basketball Association

(08:03):
and a.

Speaker 4 (08:03):
Good night on the court. More bad news off the court.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
The more we are welcomed into this gambling ring and
the scandal going on around Terry Rogier and Chauncey Billups Austin,
the more this looks bad for the National Basketball Association.
Reports from Brian Windhorse that the NBA knew about this
with Terry Rogier and essentially tried to sweep it under
the rug just not a good look for the NBA

(08:27):
right now, and I would imagine some uneasy times coming
up for that organization.

Speaker 4 (08:32):
Yeah, I mean, without a doubt, they clearly tried to
handle this themselves. It didn't work. I think there is
a belief now by some that there is politics involved
in this in the sense that when that FBI decided
to come forward with this case that they've been working
on with for months, happened to be in coinciding with
the first night of the NBA season. So, whether you

(08:55):
believe that or not, that's an added layer to this
entire thing. You know, there's all sorts of different stuff
sweeping the Terry Rosier thing under the rug. Lebron James
and his proximity to Damon Jones and what he knew
or did not know and how that was affecting Betters.
I'm sure that the league is now in the NBA

(09:16):
is now starting to feel pressure from the other leagues
to say, hey, can you clean it up? Because we
don't want to have to deal with the mess that
you make in our world and our partners as well.
And you know the teams that the networks that just
put together a seventy six billion dollar TV deal for
the NBA money, how are they feeling today in all

(09:37):
this continual backlash and arrests all over the place. So
and on top of that, Gilbert Arenas appears like happily
happily appeared to snitch on everybody. So we'll see what happens.
Far from over.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
Game one of the World Series is tonight. Are we
sleeping at all? The World Series? I kind of forgot
about it, to be it is a little bit odd.
I think there is a disinterest from a lot of
people because of the Dodgers, because it's the Dodgers again,
and because it's not an American team in Toronto Toronto.

(10:15):
I mean that that's a fun team and they have
some star power, but I don't know that there is.
It's one of those teams that they really really care
in Toronto and not really anywhere else.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
If you're having to root for a team, are you
rooting for the Blue Jays though? Yeah, because just to
get it over the Dodgers. No, because of David Bell. Okay,
I like David Bell. That's fair. And also I like
the way the Blue Jays built their organization. They've spent
money and they aren't at the same level as those
other teams, and it's hard to get players to come

(10:48):
to Canada because of the financial impact on their salary.
But they got Vladdie to a five hundred million dollar deal,
They win got Anthony Santander, they went and got Max Scherzer.
They have really supplemented this roster nicely and brought up
some young players along the way as well. It's been
I love the aggressiveness that the Blue Jays have built

(11:11):
their team with. You want to talk about aggressiveness, how
about who they're gonna throw to the Mounta tonight. Did
you see this, Trey Yes of Age? What did you
call me? Trey Yes of Age? Now the Dodgers are
gonna throw Blake Snell, who's been fantastic, starting with his
start against the Reds. Yes of Age. At the start
of the year, Austin wasn't even in major League Baseball.
He was in the minors for the Blue Jays. Since

(11:33):
then has come up and was awesome for this team.
He is now from not starting the team the year
with the Blue Jays to starting Game one of the
World Series in Toronto. I bet if you were to
ask Charlie at one o'clock today about this guy in
this scenario, he would say, that's the David Bell impact.

(11:53):
I'm not kidding. We're gonna do it. Ask him about it.
And I talked not that long ago, we were talking
about Blue Jays and talking about some of the guys
that have come up through their system, and Charlie was like,
that's I'm not kidding, that's where David Bell has an
impact on the Blue Jays. Trey Yes of Age. We'll
lead off Charlie Goldsmith at one o'clock. You know, the
other day I posted a picture of David Bell and
said in his first year with the Blue Jays, he's

(12:16):
led them to the World Series. People got big mad
about that. Oh, he didn't lead them to anything. He
didn't do anything. He's just in the front office. Blah
blah blah blah blah. Okay, man, yep, I'm happy for that.
I'm happy for Davy baseball. Man. I'm happy for Mattingly
as well, just because he's been in the game for
so what exactly does he do for the Blue It's

(12:37):
a great question. Oh you knew. No, she's such a
big Don Mattingly.

Speaker 2 (12:40):
Now what we talked about it on Monday. I believe
of you know, Don Mattingley and all the years of
service to Major League Baseball and not getting to the
World Series. It's cool that that he's able to get there.
He's a bench coach. Cool for the Blue Jays first season.
He spent the twenty twenty four season as the offensive

(13:02):
coordinator for the Blue Jays. Okay, apparently that's the thing
the OC. Yeah, it's not Don in baseball maddingly So
that is everything from the world of sports again, Hell
is real is on Monday, you get a big nut
of high school football tonight, Bearcats and Baylor Bears tomorrow,
Dangles Jets on Sunday. It's a big sports weekend and

(13:24):
it's home coming for the Bearcats and it's Hall of
Fame weekend for the Bearcats.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
I'm excited about that. I'm excited to be down there tonight,
fifth Third Arena. You should be fun. What are you
going to be wearing? Ideally, I'm going to be rocking
a Romato suit. Okay, right over here in Madeira. I
didn't have to say the name, but so explain to
people what's been going on with this situation. Well, it's

(13:51):
been harder. I don't know if it's because of customs
or just tracking and shipping in general, but we deally
wanted to have you know, the suit in kind of
last week to make any last minute alterations. And we're
still making the last minute adjustments. So we're we're we're
you know, I got to be there at five tonight.

(14:12):
This show ends at three. Got a wife that wife
needs to get ready, kids need to get ready. I'm
gonna get ready. So I think you're burying the lead
a little bit here. So a month or so ago
when we found out and all this stuff happening, What
a time that was. You're like, hey, I need a suit, yes,
and you go to this place. These guys answer it

(14:33):
be They're like, we can get you a suit in time.
Blah blah blah blah blah. It's in Italy. It's an
Italian suit that's being prepared. Dude, this this is the
honor of your lifetime. This guy Romaldo is ninety years old.
He's a beast and he's still in the shop three
days a week sewing. But it's there's some delays in

(14:53):
the return shipping. Yeah apparently, so now they're working overtime.
You were told yesterday that there's a what seventy five Yeah,
we're ready. Okay, we're ready.

Speaker 5 (15:02):
Now.

Speaker 4 (15:03):
The good news is is there are big Willie Cunningham
has connections here, okay, and Willie's like, well, they're gonna
get it done. They always come through and they are
only like five minutes from here. Okay, So I said, look,
if you got to swing it over here to the studio.
They once fitted Austin Neil Armstrong. That's pretty cool. Peter Frampton. Oh,

(15:24):
there's a bunch of picture like Bengals that they have
fitted over the years, and they work with Travis Kelcey
to get him fitted for the draft. Well, now, Travis
Kelcey's look for the draft is a lot different than
Travis Kelsey's look. Now, as much as I appreciate Travis Kelcey,
I'm a little bit offended that you would put him
and Neil Armstrong in the same sentence. I mean, one

(15:45):
guy walked on the moon, the other guy played football.
Oh my god. Neil Armstrong is one of the most
fascinating individuals that's ever walked the face of the Earth
or the moon. Yep, And Travis is one of the
most fascinating people in the world. I don't know that
she's as fascinating as she is famous, famous, That's true.
I do think there are parts of do you her

(16:06):
fame that are fascinating. Do you know anything about fabrics?
Very little?

Speaker 2 (16:10):
I was told the suit is an Italian fabric from
Vitally Barbaros.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
Okay, I don't know if I'm saying that right. I
doubt you are. You can't speak English correctly, So Italian's
probably not the things they did. They did work the
custom seapaul lining into it. So what's what's the backup
plan if if the suit or whatever? Probably the suit
I've I've worn about fifty eight times since my wedding,
I don't I don't own the last time I got

(16:37):
a suit was for my wedding. I've not updated it
since then. So are you like ready to go tonight?
Mentally it's a big night for you. You had a
lot going on, I think, so now would you? I'm
told it's a Q and A So that that to
me makes it a little easier, right, because if you

(16:58):
had emotional you would, Yeah. But what's cool about the
Q and A One? Dan Horde is doing it okay,
so you know what's already gonna be perfect?

Speaker 6 (17:06):
Huh.

Speaker 4 (17:07):
Two they were really good about like if you were
to had given if you were to give a speech,
what were some of the main things you would want
to talk about or highlight? And then Dan kind of
took what I understand, I haven't seen the question, but
Dan is taking that and kind of get drumming up
questions based on that. I heard that they're just going
to play the encore technologies. Pike plays six in a

(17:29):
row and that's going to be the whole presentation. That's
I don't know if that's true. Good afternoon, good evening,
and good night. Has there been anything like has over
the course of the last couple of weeks. Is this
gets closer and obviously there's been a lot going on,
But like, has there been anything that has come to
your mind that you're like, oh my gosh, I totally

(17:50):
forgot about that, or a memory that you kind of
keep coming back to when you think of now you're
about to go into the pinnacle of UC athletics. No,
the more I've thought about it, the more I've I've
thought about how many other people it took to get
me where I'm at, you know, from growing up with
family to teammates that I got to play for that

(18:12):
made me look really good a lot of the times,
A lot of them, a lot a lot of guys,
some that are in the Hall of Fame, some that
aren't in the Hall of Fame that deserve to be
in the Hall of Fame. But it's kind of what
and I said this, and I'm obviously very appreciative of
getting to do and broadcast the games, but there's one
game every year Austin that I wish I wasn't in
its homecoming because there's just so many guys that come

(18:35):
back into town that you haven't seen forever, and you
just don't have it as much of a chance to
get with them and get together. So it's a brotherhood,
it's a fraternity. And what I've appreciated most about the
whole process is how many people it took to to
get me to where I'm at, from when I was
young to where I'm at now. And at times, I

(18:58):
think anyone, as a child, can can attest there are
times that your parents and family members are pushing you
and you hate them for it and you get angry
with them for it. But then you get a little
older and you start to really appreciate everything that was
done for you and sacrifices that were made, and you know,
that's kind of where I'm at. I've told the story
and I'll talk about them tonight. My grandpa who who

(19:20):
took me to every game growing up, and I was
I was a Bearcat basketball fan first because they were
good like basketball when I was growing up was really
good at you see. And I just became a football
fan because I would get to go to every game
because no one was going to them at the time. So,
you know, my grandpa, you know, build in my love
for the Bearcats. And and I'm a product of a

(19:41):
lot of people around me that have sacrificed a ton
that I'm appreciative for but but more over the last
I would say week or two, it's it's kind of
looking back on people that that gave things up or
or worked extra for me to have the chance to
do what I did, and I guess do So there's that.
So pretty much that was my That was my Hall

(20:03):
of Fame speech last in a nutshell, thank you, thank
you well, congratulating me to do anything tonight now congratulations, seriously,
thank you. I'm looking forward to being there tonight. I
don't know if what I have on is considered bearcat chic,
but it's the best that I can do and I'm

(20:24):
looking for I do not have a suit coming for
this particular event, but I'm looking forward to checking it out.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
And yeah, just so people know, if you're going tonight,
the dress is bearcat chic.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
I don't know what that means. I don't I don't think.
I don't think you're required to wear a suit. I
think that's just kind of the the inductees that are
doing that, because now I got people texting me like
our guy Maso's he's panicking now because he wasn't planning
on doing that. No, Maso, you don't need to dress
up in a suit tonight, bearcat chic is all they
ask I'm wearing. So here's what I interpreted, is bearcat chic.

(21:00):
I got Jordan's on, and I got a Jordan crew neck,
and I got some dark jeans. I figure that's good enough.
That's chic. I'm not nobody's looking at me. That's chic.
They're all gonna be looking at you. And whether or
not you have your old suit or your new suit on,
that's what they're gonna be. Question and Mike Mickens, Mike Mickens, Man,
they're gonna be you know, I can't wait to get

(21:21):
with Mike. Is Dan gonna wear a Sincy light jacket? Oh,
that's a great question. He's too professional for that, but
it'd be funny if he did.

Speaker 7 (21:32):
Well.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
They're they're wearing red tomorrow for Homecoming. I would imagine
there's a Sensey light gonna be on every table. Actually,
the new Nippert version, so that nippered version, Sweet Dan,
wyn't you just throw the since he light jacket onto me?

Speaker 8 (21:45):
Man?

Speaker 4 (21:45):
He should, Dan, I know you're listening Rock the Cincy
Light Jacket. Tonight, Rock the Cincy Light Jacket. It is
good you don't realize until you like I just remember
my time with Mike Mickens and and what we were
able to do at practic this against each other. Mike
was a dog man. He is fantastic. You know, Tom

(22:06):
Marveso and Mike Mickens are both in the Ring of
Honor before they went into the Hall of Fame. If
that tells you anything about how good they were and
how long overdue it is for both of them to
be in the Hall of Fame as well. So the
next thing for us to get for you, you want to
start pushing it now, Ring of Honor, and start pushing
it now. I don't know last time I pushed for anything. Yeah,
I can.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
It's a good place to break on the Friday Football Frenzy.
We'll dive into football, and let's start with what Jamar
Chase had to say yesterday.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
You'll hear that when we get back on ESPN fifteen thirty,
Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Now your chie.

Speaker 9 (22:40):
Brought to you by Postman Law on ESPN fifteen thirty,
the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 2 (22:51):
Welcome back Friday Football Frenzy, ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati Sports Station.
Football in the Nati. We got to be a little
quicker here in this segment, and we went a little
over in segment number one. And we've got so many
guests and fun things to do this afternoon that we
want to stay on the clock.

Speaker 4 (23:06):
So, Austin, do we have just.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
A couple of minutes of what Jamar Chase had to
say in his weekly press conference?

Speaker 4 (23:13):
We sure do, starting with Joe Burrow being back around
the team his rehab, and it also finishes with eating
at a restaurant by yourself. Would Jamar Chase ever do that?
Here's a couple of minutes of the Bengals wide receiver.

Speaker 10 (23:25):
It's to a point because Barbo's starting to come back
to the meetings and they say Joe all the time,
so obviously we're talking a flack about I'll be thinking
just sit next to me, so I'll be thinking, Joe
gonna say something sometime when he's saying his name, because
it's usually he have an input. But one of these days,
I'm sure to happen.

Speaker 11 (23:42):
Has he been in a better mood the last few
weeks since as the injury kind of passes.

Speaker 10 (23:47):
I can never tell his move Go be honest, I
see he seems pretty happy to me, you know, even
though he looked like a rock star by the head, But.

Speaker 4 (23:55):
He's pretty happy all these years. You can't tell this movie.

Speaker 10 (24:00):
I can tell his move when he's overly happy. When
he's overly happy, I can one hundred percent see that,
you know what I'm saying. Other than that, well, when
he's pissed, I feel sure know that one. He carried
me out a couple of times, so I know when
he's pissed too.

Speaker 11 (24:12):
How has he been attacking his rehabit here? You know,
he's rehabitall different injuries of security over the years. How's
this one big perfection?

Speaker 4 (24:19):
He's working pretty hard.

Speaker 10 (24:20):
For the majority of the times that I've seen him
in a train room working, I'll try to walk in
there and give him a couple laughs, so, you know,
not to make his day a little better, but he's working.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
Who's the best way you ever been?

Speaker 5 (24:32):
In? You?

Speaker 4 (24:32):
Everyway at all? You're trying to take something.

Speaker 10 (24:35):
M It's a good question. I'll pros see like somebody
from high school, because I never really I've been around
Joe my whole life. That's the only guy that was
like old enough. TV was here, But TV was TB.
Everybody knows TB. And then like college, it was Joe again,

(24:57):
and it was like all the guys I knew in
high school. So we ended up going to college together.
But I would say high school just because of the
quarterback that I had.

Speaker 7 (25:05):
He was.

Speaker 10 (25:06):
He was always holding accountability for me, always, even when
I was a freshman in the sophomore always making sure
I was on top of everything. And even in high school,
I used to be late for meetings, so he used
to tune me out as a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
So Chase, Chase four k the guys, I say, so
that that get thank you to have it.

Speaker 3 (25:25):
No, I was late a.

Speaker 10 (25:25):
Couple of times when I got to the NFL, but
I eventually grew out of it. I mean, you mature
over time, you know.

Speaker 7 (25:32):
Have you.

Speaker 4 (25:34):
Done that, gone to a restaurant by yourself and just
being able to take.

Speaker 3 (25:37):
A bread by myself?

Speaker 7 (25:38):
You at that?

Speaker 3 (25:39):
Of course not.

Speaker 7 (25:41):
Would you.

Speaker 10 (25:42):
I would never go eat by myself.

Speaker 4 (25:44):
Why I could do that at home. If you walked
into a restaurant you saw Joe Flacco sitting there by himself,
would you join him or just be.

Speaker 10 (25:51):
Like I would tell him, bro, we gotta go get
in the back room or something you need to be
in the front.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
You know, two completely differ for lifestyles, Jamar Chase and
Joe Burrow. Man, how how different does it feel from
Jamar Chase now as the kind of leader that he's
emerging to be.

Speaker 4 (26:11):
Yeah, he also talked about that, I think a little
bit later on too, about how Burrow's absence accelerated his leadership.
We talked about that earlier this week. But there's a confidence,
there's a understanding of that captain role that he's now in. Yeah.
And he's always been a great interview and awesome to

(26:32):
listen to each week when he meets the media. But
to see him kind of growing as a man as
well this season has been fun. Also, shout out to
Chandler Fields. That was his high school quarterback. All right,
scho chand later played for the Raging Cajuns of Louisiana.
All Right, can you imagine like Chandler just hanging out
yesterday and being like man a leader? Was Chandler to

(26:55):
Jamar Chase? I mean, he didn't have many people to
go to. What do what Chandler's doing these days? Tyler
Boyd Chandler Fields My favorite part of the whole thing
was he TV, but TB is TV and everybody knows TV.
And then you hear somebody in the back of the
room laughing because you know there's a Tyler Boyd story
yep out there. That's funny, awesome, awesome stuff. There is

(27:18):
AFC North News, a team in North has made an addition. Oh,
Logan Wilson wants out, and a couple players for the
Jets key to any chance of success they want to
have are ball out as well. We'll dive into all
of those things along with your phone calls when we
come back. Since he three sixty the Friday Football friends

(27:40):
at ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station, you've.

Speaker 9 (27:42):
Been listening to football in the Natti on ESPN fifteen thirty,
the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Hey, Alexa, what's going on in baseball?

Speaker 4 (27:57):
Getting ESPN is fifteen to thirty Art Radio for ten years.
Family Curry.

Speaker 12 (28:09):
The building.

Speaker 4 (28:18):
How about Steph Curry Man? Just another night, Steph Curry
three from the logo logo Man. By the way, that's
our wind Shulders Call of the Day, brought to you
by our friends at wind Shulders. Their amazing cheese spreads
are perfect for any upcoming holiday get together or any
tailgate you may be a part of it. Especially what
about a homecoming tailgate at Nippert Stadium Dining Clifton, pull

(28:41):
out the wind shoulders, check out the homecoming parade. I'll
t how you start a Saturday. Now, you know we
didn't do one of these yesterday, so you got to
do a makeup one. I forgot to play this one.
Joe's attacks, shout slapper, Japan's bag baby, throw it up there,
don't get it, shy slam, a jam of matas Bozana,

(29:05):
get it into Chicago. Bulls come back with it. Yes,
my goodness. Sorry, I'm excited about the Bulls again, which
it's never excited about them. Get excited about what they
got going on. It's a real shame that some of
the Bulls ownership wasn't involved in this FBI gamblings. Did
you see?

Speaker 6 (29:23):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (29:24):
Did you see the uniform combo release for the bear
Cats tomorrow?

Speaker 13 (29:28):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (29:28):
Yeah? What do you think of that? Don't love it?
Red on red with the white Caps. Don't love it?

Speaker 2 (29:34):
What do you make of because I know this is
I say that with the utmost respect. This is a
hot button topic for our guy, Moeger. Okay, now, this
is the first time that they've gone red pants red shirts.
I don't know since twenty nineteen.

Speaker 4 (29:47):
I don't know if we I don't know if we
should share, Okay, you know what I mean. I don't
know if we want to out people's opinions on sure stuff.
What do you make of the white helmets. I don't
like this particular combination. I think the since he looks
good on the red and the black. I don't think

(30:09):
it looks good on the white. I think it's a
different look because of all the different slits, and I.

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Just think it looks different, like they have the cinc
y on the jersey and then like that's a red
jersey with white lettering, and then the helmet's the white
helmet with the black lettering. Yeah, I think the two
different combinations of since he look a little different. But
the red on red man I think is fire. Yeah,
I mean, I I think I think red on red's
a good look.

Speaker 4 (30:35):
I do like it. But when I think of bear
Cat football, I think of black on black. YEP, that
was gonna be my follow up, and I still think
that that's their best looking combo, I would it's either.
I also think if they're going to do the combo
they're wearing Saturday, they should put white socks on so
that kind of ties the whole thing on together. Or

(30:56):
go red helmet, black jersey, yep, black pants and either
a white or red sox. I think would look great
if if they happen. I spend way too much time
thinking about. You know, you're a UNI guy I am.
If they happen to land a nippet night game down
the stretch, can I come? Sure? You hooked me up?

(31:17):
I got you. I've never been to a nip at Night.
I've been a nip a couple of times. Never been
to a nip at night. So they have Arizona and
BYU as their two remaining home games after tomorrow. If
that BYU game was a NIP at Night, can you imagine? Oh,
it'd be lit, and you gotta if you if it's
nip at night, you got to come out in the
all black. I mean that's a prerequisite, prerequisite. You know. Tomorrow. First,

(31:39):
ahead of this weekend's game, tomorrow's game, there was a
special trailer posted for homecoming by the Bearcats. Yeah, let's
take a listen and see if the voice sounds familiar.

Speaker 3 (31:58):
Home.

Speaker 4 (32:00):
It's not just a place, it's a feeling. Some feelings
don't fade. They live in the heartbeat of the city
there and here. Football is more than again gone.

Speaker 3 (32:13):
Right, come pouring out.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
It's family, go to cross generations, and we always find
our way back from where it all started yep, to
where our story lives. Ont Dan Horns all time bests.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Yeah, Knippert isn't just a stadium, it's a home.

Speaker 7 (32:47):
In it.

Speaker 4 (32:51):
And this weekend we're coming home because once a bearcat Mctorian,
how about that? How many takes did that take? Yes,

(33:12):
I've recorded enough commercials with you to know that it
wasn't one two takes, two takes, two takes, all right.

Speaker 2 (33:20):
And the reason for that like we we did that
audio before any of the video was overlaid onto it.
Uh huh, and I read it entirely too fast. So
they're like and about it. They're like, that's good, but
let's just try one more time, just in case slowed down.

Speaker 4 (33:37):
A little bit. Did you try to like deepen your
voice a little bit, because that's what I would have done.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
There are times when I do stuff like that. And
I told Mayor this the other night where I hear
myself and I hate it. But as many times as
I've seen that video, I get chills when when Dan
drops the line, it's not an upset, it's an uprising.

Speaker 4 (33:56):
Yep, that's so good. That's one of my favorites. It's
one of my favorite hordlines, as like the crowd is
rushing the field and yeah, that was pretty cool, not
en upset and uprising. Yeah, so good.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Hopefully no upsets in store on Sunday. Aaron Glenn announcing
today Austin that both Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner are
out on Sunday. Tyrod Taylor trending in the right direction
with the knee injury. You said before the show when

(34:30):
I mentioned this, that that changes your thought about this
game on Sunday House.

Speaker 4 (34:35):
I said it might. Okay, Okay, So I've said my
whole thing this week has been, you can't tackle the
way you've tackled, you can't play offensively on the O line,
in the D line the way that you've played, and
expect to roll over the New York Jets because if
those three things tackling O line d line don't show up,
you will get beat.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
And I do agree.

Speaker 4 (34:58):
I stand by that. Yeah, that being said, without an
all Pro corner and without the league leading wide receiver
up until he got hurt, and with a banged up
quarterback and a bad quarterback situation altogether, and another myriad
of injuries that the Jets have, there really is no
excuse zero. There's no excuse for your offensive line to

(35:20):
play poorly, for your defensive line to play poorly, and
for their best athletes. The best athlete is gonna be
Breecee Hall. He's going to be out there, and he's
also not one hund Oh my god, I just looked
at my screen. Mike McCarthy is on the Pat McAfee
show wearing a backwards hat, and it's just why is

(35:41):
he doing that? Sorry, anyways, there's no excuse now with
all those guys out like those units do not have
an excuse. It's one thing if Garrett Wilson goes off
and a you chalk it up, that's a really good player.
It didn't you know whatever, But he's he's not on
the field, and if the pass game doesn't get going,

(36:03):
you're going up against Brandon Stevens, who you torched against
Baltimore a couple of years ago twice actually in two games.
And no Sauce Gardner and what you did last week.
No excuses got to go, no excuses. And there's certainly
and there's never been an excuse for bad tacks. And
if you're Al Golden, you know it. I know it,
A lot of people know it. Can you do something

(36:23):
to limit Breese Hall, knowing that that's their best weapon?
And you know, if it's Tyrod Taylor, he's going to
try to feed him the ball in that short passing
game as much as possible. The other thing too. Marco Wilson,
the Bengals backup, backup cornerback, He's probably not gonna play
in this game due to a hamstring injury, which means

(36:44):
guess who's going to be active? See t B Cam
Taylor Brett yep. Can he make the most of an opportunity? Agreed?
And it's not like he's going up against Randy Moss
all right and Jerry Rice. He got an opportunity against
the Jets. Yep. Zach Taylor about twenty minutes ago said,

(37:04):
Trey Hendrickson will be questionable. When I asked if he
will play, Zach Taylor said, quote, we'll see. So something
to watch with Trey Hendrick if if he does play,
I would imagine he's gonna be limited in playing. Yeah,
so that is something to watch him. You mentioned Austin.
We've talked Garrett Wilson, Marco Wilson. What about Logan Wilson. Oh,
we'll get Charlie's take on this as well. Logan Wilson

(37:27):
request a trade yesterday. My immediate response, Yeah, I could
see that coming.

Speaker 7 (37:31):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (37:32):
I don't think that's news to anybody based on the
direction it feels like this team is going, especially at linebacker.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Mine would have been my first reaction was why is
he doing it now? Why not now instead of two
weeks ago? Sure, unless it's been made abundantly clear to
him that, like, you're just not gonna play. He's thirty
eight snaps over the last two games, so he's just
he's clearly not part of it unless the team is
going heavy against you. Yep. So, which did Jets try

(38:00):
to do that because Garrett Wilson is out? I doubt
it because Mason Taylor, who's their top tight end, came
up with a quad injury. And he's probably not going
to play this week, or if he is, he's going
to be limited. And that happened in the middle of
practice this week. If you remember him, Jason Taylor's nephew.
I believe so. I don't know that I would expect

(38:21):
that from the Jets. I don't have no idea what
to expect from them last week, their quarterback situation.

Speaker 2 (38:28):
Lastly, Carl Lawson tweeted out yesterday back to where it
all started, and we wondered, Austin, could that mean he's
coming home to Cincinnati?

Speaker 4 (38:37):
And I guess what he meant was back to the
AFC North where it all started. Because Carl Lawson is
a Baltimore Raven. Carl Lawson a Baltimore Raven that gets
you all set up and updated with everything. Where we
stand on the football side of things right now, when
we come back, an opportunity to take a couple of
phone calls. Did you see what the Ravens did to

(38:59):
their locker room? What they do? They took all the
games out, They removed ping pong tables, video games, riley
saw hoops, cornhole. They said the veterans did it. No
more fun to be had the locker room, lock in man.
Ray Lewis came in there and did it. Carl loss
Is gonna walk in there saying what kind of prison
is this? Yep, you no fun being had over, prisoner, prisoner.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
A couple of phone calls to finish up the hour,
and then Charlie Goldsmith next the SBN fifteen thirty Cincinnati
Sports Station.

Speaker 14 (39:27):
Wise Cincinnati, what's going on in baseball?

Speaker 9 (39:29):
Getting ESPN fifteen thirty from iHeartRadio.

Speaker 2 (39:35):
All right, welcome back Friday football Frenzy Sincy three to
six The ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station. Charlie Goldsmith,
the Great Charlie Goldsmith joining us in just a few
minutes at the top of the hour. So we've got
an opportunity to get a couple of phone calls in here, Austin,
I understand we have a longtime listener, first time caller.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
To my knowledge, this is a first time caller and
a longtime listener online three, which is fitting. Hello, Joe.

Speaker 7 (40:01):
Boys, what a great Friday it is.

Speaker 4 (40:04):
It's fantastic. Yes, indeed, I.

Speaker 7 (40:07):
Just wanted to call in this Joe Frederick wanted to
call you guys and one tell you how much I
enjoy your show not only as a co worker of
both of you, but just as a great fan of
Cincinnati sports. And what a great job you guys do,
not just for your listeners, but for our company as well.
You two are true pros. But I figured it is

(40:29):
my first day to call in. I was going to
do it on a day in which our boy Tony
Pike is going into the UC Hall of Fame, and
I just wanted to reach out give you my heartfelt congratulations. Tony.
Absolutely unbelievable. Although we all know Sincy three point sixty

(40:49):
is a Hall of Fame broadcasting show for the Cincinnati market,
you individually going into the Hall of Fame for your
athletic career, Tony, much love, respect. I'm just so happy
for you and your entire family. Goodness from a Green
Hills boy. Good to see a reading boy.

Speaker 4 (41:07):
Make good man, Joe, Thank you man. I appreciate that, honestly,
Thank you very much.

Speaker 15 (41:11):
I love you guys.

Speaker 7 (41:12):
I enjoy listening, and Tony enjoyed the weekend.

Speaker 4 (41:15):
Appreciate you. Appreciate you. Thanks Joe. There you go about that.
Man who's got to follow that up? I think we
should go to Lynn and Levan.

Speaker 5 (41:27):
Well, ditto everything that guy said.

Speaker 6 (41:29):
Tony.

Speaker 5 (41:32):
I'm a free time Hall of Famer, not the poast.

Speaker 12 (41:34):
But I'm telling you.

Speaker 5 (41:36):
I learned by the third one, unfortunately, to really take
it all in.

Speaker 3 (41:42):
So, you know, please take every minute of it in.

Speaker 5 (41:47):
Whatever it is. Now.

Speaker 12 (41:48):
I had a suggestion on apparel, and I just think
you would look so good.

Speaker 5 (41:55):
Wear a white shirt.

Speaker 12 (41:59):
A red beast, black pants, some very cool white nikes,
maybe a black coat to dress it up. You know.

Speaker 5 (42:10):
But dude.

Speaker 16 (42:14):
Like that.

Speaker 5 (42:16):
Tolations. I'm I've said a million times, I'm so glad
you're back. Austin. You're irreplaceable.

Speaker 17 (42:27):
Not that's Tony.

Speaker 5 (42:28):
I don't think you're replaceable either, But but Austin, you
just did a fantastic job. And I really enjoy your
show every day.

Speaker 4 (42:35):
Guys have a great appreciate you. You could do that,
it's great. I just don't think I could get that
done in time. I needed that advice. Maybe a week ago.
You could find it. You can make that. Maybe one
here one more for quick. What's up, Mike.

Speaker 6 (42:50):
It's those happy Friday as my buddy Jeff would say. Yeah, uh,
that's several things if you give me here, So tonight
World Series Game one, Blake the Snake, Snell pitching against
the rookie.

Speaker 4 (43:09):
I'd like my chances. I'm gonna say I think the
Dodgers get the early hand in that one.

Speaker 6 (43:14):
I think should Uh what a difference Joe Alton made
coming back for the Chargers unbelievable. You know there are
four and zero when he plays.

Speaker 4 (43:25):
Yep, changes everything for him. They were able to run
the ball last night, which they've not been able to do.

Speaker 6 (43:30):
Yeah, and if they had Slater as the left tackle
and him as the right tackle, watch out. I'm sure
that's what coach Harball was counting.

Speaker 4 (43:40):
And then they drafted Marion Hampton, who's been out for
four weeks.

Speaker 6 (43:43):
Yeah, these are big, big injuries. That's like losing Law,
that's like losing Jamar and whoever. But God, would we
would it be nice if we could ever get a
left tackle of that quality. I don't think. I don't
think we'll ever do it. Maybe we'll get lucky.

Speaker 5 (44:01):
Speaking of that, I.

Speaker 6 (44:02):
Think the most important positions in football right now should
be number one, left tackle, number two, without question and
a pass an ass were passed less.

Speaker 4 (44:14):
Number three.

Speaker 6 (44:15):
You Brady proved it for years. You do not have
to have fabulous receivers to pass the ball.

Speaker 5 (44:23):
You just don't.

Speaker 4 (44:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (44:25):
Yeah, they have a great quarterback, but without that left tackle,
you're not going to do nothing.

Speaker 4 (44:29):
Yep. The tackle position in today's age, where the passing
game is such an emphasis, you've got to be able
to protect, especially the blinds out of your quarterback.

Speaker 6 (44:39):
Now, if you got a left handed quarterback, obvious reader's
not learning of them. Venis the right tackle, right. I
was listening to Patrick this morning, and I actually mentioned
it the other day about John Tesh. I remember John Tesh.
You used to have some entertainment Tonight show or something
years ago. You remember the guy is Paul Hanson Villa Yep,

(45:02):
with Mary Heart. I think it was Mary Heart.

Speaker 18 (45:06):
I didn't realize he wrote the Round Bowl Rock, He
wrote the CBS NFL lead in, he wrote the MLB
lead in, he wrote the March Madness lead in.

Speaker 6 (45:19):
Unbelievable.

Speaker 4 (45:20):
Smart guy, man, smart guy. That's a Hall of Fame career, right,
the Hall of Famer. Oh you're not a kid him
and Hans Zimmer. Yeah, thank you, Mike, when.

Speaker 6 (45:32):
You pulled that one out of your butt.

Speaker 4 (45:34):
Okay, Mike, have a good weekend. Mike, thank you all right?
We uh, I don't know about Hans. We've got to
get to Charlie Golden. We gotta know. We got to
ask Charlie about Trey.

Speaker 2 (45:44):
Yes of age yep, and then a lot on the
Cincinnati Bengals Next ESPN fifteen thirty, It's the Friday Football
Frenzy on the Home of the Bengals, Cincinnati.

Speaker 14 (45:54):
To make us the number one pre set on your
car radio and on the free, new and improved iHeartRadio
ad Free never sounded so good.

Speaker 3 (46:01):
ESPN fifteen thirty. More than a few of our patients
have talked to me about there.

Speaker 1 (46:06):

Speaker 2 (46:45):
Friday Football frenzy. And it wouldn't be a Friday football
frenzy if we didn't get to kick off our number
two with our guy, Charlie Goldsmith. What a treat it
is each and every Friday that we get to chat
with Charlie about all things going on right now the
Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 4 (47:01):
He's joining us right now. What's up, Charlie.

Speaker 5 (47:04):
How you doing, Tony, Charlie.

Speaker 3 (47:05):
I'm great.

Speaker 5 (47:06):
How are you? I'm great? Happy Friday, as you like
to say, Charlie.

Speaker 2 (47:10):
Will you be at the homecoming festivities tomorrow for the
UC Bearcats.

Speaker 5 (47:15):
I'll be at the game tomorrow night. I won't be
I won't be at the parade, but uh, but excited
for the excited for the four o'clock till right four o'clock.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
Yes, it's not quite nip at night, but it is something.
How much are you buying into what the Bearcats are
doing right now?

Speaker 10 (47:31):
You know what, man?

Speaker 5 (47:32):
They just have great players. Shoresby Royer Corleone, NC Golday
is one of my favorite Bearcats to watch in a while.
The whole point, and I remember I said to see
you at the start of the season.

Speaker 4 (47:42):
The whole thing.

Speaker 5 (47:43):
We always say we want is to see guys develop
and grow over time and find the best versions of
themselves and and watching these four guys do that, that's
what we love about college sports, and that's part of
what makes this team so exciting to watch. Everyone.

Speaker 2 (47:58):
Before we dive into the Bengals, I want to ask you,
Trey Yes of age is getting the ball tonight for
the Toronto Blue Jays, a rookie starting Game one of
the World Series, was not even with the team to
start the year. Tell me about the David Bell effect
in Toronto.

Speaker 5 (48:15):
So yeah, I mean, this is a big development story.
I mean, one of the most exciting development stories in
baseball in all seriousness is with halfw with Trey Savage.
That's been something that David's overseeing in Toronto. I'm a
huge fan of you Savage. The aggressive approach they've taken
with him certainly stands out. I mean, you got me, Roland.
I remember when the Blue Jays were in Cincinnati talking

(48:38):
to people about how you Savage was in Triple A
and they were going to have him start working in
the bullpen. I remember that was kind of the behind
the scenes thing I heard when the Blue Jays were
in town, because they thought he could help their bullpen
in October. Well, now he's their game one starter, certainly
proving he can help their rotation in October.

Speaker 4 (48:56):
Awesome, awesome stuff. I told you, I said, I told him, Charlie.
I said, Charlie will know about this guy, and it's
a David Bell special developing this organization.

Speaker 2 (49:06):
The David Bell in print on the Toronto Blue Jays.
Let's talk Bengals, Charlie. First, let's talk about who's not
going to be playing for the Jets. No Sauce Gardner,
no Garrett Wilson. We still don't know who the quarterback
is going to be, between Tyrod Taylor or Justin Fields.
How much does this change your view on Sunday's game.

Speaker 5 (49:27):
Well, the receiver in the corner much more than the quarterback.
This is just a complete guest. I think it's gonna
be Torod Taylor because I would bet one hundred percent
of the time when the owner publicly says he has
no faith in the quarterback that cornerback, that quarterback gets
benched for the next game, even if they're probably maybe
limited like Taylor would be, but Sauce is obviously huge.

(49:50):
Their top corner now will be Brandon Stevens, who when
I like, make a list one day of the most
gettable cornerbacks in the NFL they face the Bengals, like
number one will probably be rock Yostin, I think of
like Desmond Trusson, and number three is going to be
Brandon Stevens. He's high on that list and hope the

(50:12):
Jets top corner on Sunday, so you know, go get him.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
Joe Logan Wilson has requested a trade from the Cincinnati Bengals.
It's clear, Charlie that this team is valuing the rookie linebackers,
and we've seen that with the snap count, and we've
talked about that for weeks now with Logan Wilson. One,
are you trying to honor that request if you're the
Cincinnati Bengals? And two, is that a presence that this

(50:37):
team is okay to lose knowing he's been here, he's
been a leader, he's been a staple of that defense,
So what are you listening to that trade request? And
two can this team can they take losing a Logan
Wilson as a leader on that defense?

Speaker 5 (50:52):
They're a better team with Logan Wilson on the field
right now? Than Bear Carter on the field right now
now that they think that's going to change in the
next month. But while what I said is true, it's
also true, what's Logan's trade value realistically? Is it even
realistic to get that fifth round pick back that you
kind of lost that draft capital in the Flacco trade

(51:12):
a couple of weeks ago, and you factor in Logan's contract,
any factor in the point that he's been the word
I keep using is perfectly fine. But there haven't been
splash played from him this season, so there's value. But
with how much trade, with how little you typically get
at the deadline anyway in the NFL, plus the fact
that he's still this team's third linebacker. I'm not sitting

(51:34):
here waiting for a trade to happen like I was
waiting for the Bengals to get a quarterback. Logan's been fine,
fine behind the scenes. He hasn't made this a distraction.
They're they're making a long bet with Brett Carter, and
it's one of their riskier, bolder, aggressive decisions that really
I can make. I can remember that making personnel wise
in season.

Speaker 2 (51:52):
In a while, Joe Flacco has become a sensation here
in Cincinnati, not only for what he did on the field,
but the way he's handled himself and the way he's
brought himself to the media and the meetings with Ted
Carris and Joe Burrow and everything that he's done since
he's been a Cincinnati Bengal. He targeted Jamar Chase twenty
three times. He's woken up to Higgins in this offense
where he was lying dormant. But more importantly, he was

(52:14):
able to ignite a running game for the Cincinnati Bengals
as well. Why the success all of the sudden with
Joe Flacco in this team's ability to run the ball.

Speaker 5 (52:23):
What I really think it was was the way they
were able to attack the perimeter against Pittsburgh. And then
when you really look at what the explosive runs were
one by one, just the best way to say it
is they were spectacular. To quote Kevin Harlan, spectacular moves
by Chase Brown, like he truly looked like Jamar Chase,

(52:44):
Unlike that touchdown against the Panthers he had last year.
You know all those touchdowns where he catches the ball
like at the first down line, spins around three guys,
run pass two more like Chase Brown's been doing more
of that, which is really really impressive.

Speaker 4 (52:58):
And when that.

Speaker 5 (52:58):
Happens, you get you know, plus yard runs, you get
twenty plus yard runs. That's what I've been seeing in
the run game more than anything. Kind of the upside
of Chase Brown that we had all been waiting for,
even more than I'm not a big believer that like Flacco,
came in and fixed the run game. What I do
think is there's just been bigger windows for Brown to
show what he's capable of.

Speaker 4 (53:19):
Do you buy in a little bit?

Speaker 2 (53:20):
Joe Flacco spoke yesterday about just simplifying things and playing fast,
and to me, simplifying things would be saying, man, I've
got number one and I've got number five, and the
easiest way for this team to have success on offense
is those guys to get more touches. Is it as
simple as that with Joe Flaco just simplifying things and
playing fast.

Speaker 5 (53:40):
I also talked to Chase Brown about this. He was
talking about how leading up to the Green Bay game,
the place, you know, the plays he's the number of
plays he had to memorize, you know, get ready for
the week, and the game plan all that kind of
stuff was the shortest list that he had ever had
that he had ever been given during his time in
the league. And it was short again in a short
week leading up to the Steelers game. And I don't

(54:02):
know how big their call she's this week, but that's
exactly what they've done. They've simplified things, They've streamlined things.
They've done something I've always wanted them to do more of,
which is if a play works, just do it again.
And then the other side of this is that the
Flacco baseline, it lets the coaches actually be more creative
and show somewhre of their creativity. It allows Jamar to

(54:24):
be in a position where he can do spectacular things
on a more consistent basis. I think Flack's biggest strength
is he gives you a baseline that sets everyone else
up to be successful and gives you more confidence that
you're going to be able to be successful, and that
all ties together.

Speaker 4 (54:41):
Zach Taylor has not really shared what his plan is
for his guards on offense. How do you expect that
position group to play out this week against the Jets?

Speaker 7 (54:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (54:53):
Practice what I saw that looks like you're playing the kids.
This has always been Dylan fairchild by left guard since
you first Ota and it's another class example where you
know there were some okay things to steal semi decently
about from Dalton Reisner, but recognizing they have to get better,
they're making a bold, aggressive move that they haven't again

(55:14):
asside from Carter made a ton of and putting the
kid in there and betting on that upside translating something
they get to week ten ideally in their mind their
ceilings could be higher. Rivers has been a steadier one
and he's kind of stuck his roots in at right guard,
solidified that spot from his perspective. There so two different

(55:35):
styles of rookies, but both the idea of being in
their minds this is a position you've got to get
better at. So let's play the long game, hoping in
week twelve those guys development.

Speaker 2 (55:45):
How much of an opportunity is it on the defensive
side of the ball, Charlie to start putting some good
tape out there. You mentioned going younger and what they're
doing at the linebacker position Shamar Stewart and can he
take the next step. We're waiting on if Trey Hendricks
and what role he's going to be able to play
on Sunday. But around all of this, as we mentioned
at the top, this is an offense that will not

(56:06):
have Garrett Wilson. It's an offensive line that is not
protecting the quarterback. And whether it's Tarrod Taylor or Justin Fields,
I don't think it much matters. How important is it
to have one of those get right opportunities on Sunday
For this defense.

Speaker 5 (56:22):
You hit on two key things I'll elaborate on. First,
the defensive line.

Speaker 4 (56:26):
It's a group.

Speaker 5 (56:27):
It's funny, Like you want to know what I'm going
to be reading about next week. I've got the story
in my notebook. The plan is do the Bengals have
much of a pass rush without Trey Hendrickson? And what
did we learn from that over the last two weeks
now including this game against the Jets. Like that's the
story I played right this week and especially manufactor in
the winability of this matchup. Can this is when you

(56:49):
need to see some more from these guys or this
is really just a Trey Hendrickson only pass rush. Shamar Stewart,
by the way, played a really bad game against these Steelers,
and that's okay, you know he just this time he's
got to grow and develop, but you need to see
him make those corrections and be able to pup at
least when you face an offense like the Jets. And
then the leadership stuff too, like a lot of that

(57:10):
is you need to see it, you need to experience it.
You need to be in that moment and build that
earned confidence. And as you look at young leaders, you
want if you step up across the defense, that would
be Jordan Battle, That did Derek Carter, Demetrius Knight, Josh Newton.
You need wins, you know, individually collectively where you start
to feel like this group is moving along and moving

(57:32):
forward and what they need is an opportunity to build
upon stuff like that. With a strong performance on.

Speaker 4 (57:38):
Sunday, it looks like with the hamstring injury to Marco
Wilson that will see Cam Taylor Britt active again against
the Jets. What did you hear about his response to
being benched and do you expect him to get another
opportunity with the defense on Sunday?

Speaker 5 (57:56):
Is actually all the right things about Caim just in
terms of all the all the things you'd want to
hear about Cam had a good week of practice, like
what he saw. I mean, just personally, I was impressed
by he seemed to be taking the special teams drills
that I saw him going through pretty seriously. He's gonna
have to earn his path back. This is a part
of the schedule too, where you got to make decisions

(58:18):
in terms of with the gauntlet you have coming up
later these home games some week, or opponents or some
not elite opponents, like you have to decide now what
you want to be. So I expect Cam probably to
come off the bench because he was working on special
teams this week, But then take that information and you
got to decide pretty quickly is he your starter against

(58:39):
the Bears and going forward or you just turning the page.
Now you're in Josh Newton's world because Cam just hasn't
been at this point. Isn't going to get there if
that's the decision you make coming up next week. So
he did some nice things this week, really important game
for him, maybe more than anyone else on Sunday, just
in terms of his approach and his readiness for the
limited opportunity he does get in different packages or stuff

(59:02):
like that. And then the Bengals are probably really gonna
have to make a decision on if he's in their plans.

Speaker 4 (59:08):
Charlie, how good has Turner been for this defense?

Speaker 5 (59:12):
I've never been more wrong about a player. And what's
been cool is seeing and he denies it, but seeing
his celebration game expand and build, and to me, that's
just confidence. Here's something on DJ Turner. What he wants
his thing to be is destruct So you know, he
makes a big play and he'lls just struck cool, like

(59:34):
he's walking away from an explosion. But I've caught him
on tape, pound in his chest or you know, hyping
up a teammate, stuff like that, and that's been some
talk around in the locker room. You gotta stick with
the strut, DJ, but he's earned it, and he kind
of was a one man defense against the Steelers because
look at when the Bengals got their stops and then
look at when the Bengals allow their touchdowns. The Bengals

(59:57):
got their stops. Every single one except the one was
literally because DJ Turner made a play and the other
was a pass break up by by DJ Ivy. But
that play actually could have been a deep ball down
the sideline because there was a bust to coverage. I
believe on Dak Hill, so that could have been a
touchdown too. Really, the only guy making plays consistently enough

(01:00:20):
with dj and that's a change and you get Henderson back.
But how much did he mean to the defense last Thursday?

Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
He was a one man defense, Charlie, the Jets this week,
the Bears the week after, and then the trade deadline happens.
If this team can find a way to get over
five hundred, do you view them as being a team
that's looking to add at the deadline or how do
you view those these next upcoming weeks.

Speaker 5 (01:00:47):
I don't think in their mind they feel like they
have a ton of draft capital flexibility right now. Even
when you have again you roll your eyes grown up
that after, Like I mean, this was a team that
was disappointed to lose a seventh round pick last year,
but they had to because they out of running backs
and need it. Khalil Herbert, Is there a player for
player type thing like? That's where Logan Wilson would enter

(01:01:07):
the conversation. For me, there someone taking a flyer on
the back of your roster guy in a move like that.
But while the Bengals have had desperate needs that we've
been talking about since last November when we looked at
this twenty twenty five Bengals team. I mean, they're not
going to be aggressive. They're not going to finally go
out and get that star safety or that star pass

(01:01:28):
rushing defensive tackle. Do they work the margins and find
something that's, you know, within the small fliver of value
they'd be willing to part with. Maybe they, of course should,
but that's that's not my expectation.

Speaker 3 (01:01:42):
Charlie.

Speaker 4 (01:01:42):
It's Ring of Honor Weekend. You've been around this organization
for a long time. Do you have a favorite part
of Ring of Honor Weekend or do you have a
Dave Lapham memory or story perhaps that stands out to
you being around him as much as you are.

Speaker 5 (01:01:57):
I'll give it. Lamar pears one too. I did a
big feature on Ken Riley when he made it into
the Hall of Fame, and it was really cool hearing
and I learned a lot about Lamar through that, about
kind of the yin and yang, with Lamar being one
of the one of the most enthusiastic, almost a twenty
twenty style corner with you know, how he cared himself
and what he wore and how he played and that

(01:02:20):
gear was really cool to learn about about Corner who
obviously played before. That was kind of the expectation and
the standard at this position, Lap Lap. One of my
favorite things about Lap is I always said hello to him.
He always said how you be? And it's just a
beautiful Dave Lap I'm saying, I mean, he's best love Lap.
I learned a lot from Lap, maybe one of the

(01:02:42):
people I trust the most when it comes to trench
play on the planet. And just what a perfect representative
for the Bengals in such an important spot. And just
how much try do you take me? That I grew
up listening into him. I can't say nothing nice things
about David.

Speaker 2 (01:02:57):
Good stuff, Charlie, Man, we appreciate you so much. Apreciate
your time each and every Friday. We'll look forward to
it again, uh next week, but have a great weekend.

Speaker 4 (01:03:04):

maybe something that somebody like me would know about.

Speaker 4 (01:07:58):
But don't worry about all that, y'all. I got I'll

The Big OL season may have been saved by two big,
beautiful tds from Flacco to chase the outfense seems to
have cleared the bottlenecks heading into the in zode, while
the defense continues to suffer slowdowns in the contraflow lanes.

Me reach you for this day.

Speaker 28 (01:10:06):
It's the Lord doing some prognosticating and the tilt between
the Bengals and the Jets, Bengals will win twenty eight
to ten. The tilt between the Bearcats.

Speaker 3 (01:10:20):
Bears Baylor the Bears.

Speaker 28 (01:10:22):
Bearcats will win twenty eight twenty. So from my standpoint,
that's my viewpoint.

Speaker 4 (01:10:29):
Thank you God. I don't know if I don't know
Baylor scoring. Just twenty question for TP fifteen.

Speaker 3 (01:10:35):
Would you let awesome babysit your kids?

Speaker 4 (01:10:38):
Yeah? Little hesitation there, No, I think so. Yeah, it
depends what time of the day. I'd be fine. Yeah.

Speaker 29 (01:10:45):
Hey guys, Jeff and New Richmond, Happy Friday to you.
I just wanted to call real quick, get my predictions
in for the weekend. I'm gonna go Bearcats thirty two
to twenty three tomorrow for homecoming, and we'll go Bengals
twenty four to nineteen on Sunday. Tony, Just one last

(01:11:06):
question for you. Do you believe you see football will
ever become a destination job take.

Speaker 4 (01:11:13):
Care in the Big twelve. If they can get sustained success,
then I believe it can be. I also think they're
very competitive when it comes to the money that they're
spending on both the roster and on these contracts for coaches,
so I think it could down the road.

Speaker 23 (01:11:35):
Yes, hell, Tony, I'm so glad you're back, because I
have a private question for you. Austin had a solo
trip out to Green Bay, which he didn't invite me to,
but ever since he returned, he's been humming hell to
the chief, talking about the secret Service, and he accidentally
called me by the phone name. Think Kennedy, Commander in chief,

(01:11:57):
potus found to receive for something.

Speaker 4 (01:12:00):
Oh please hang so Brady Anyway, Hey, Austin, what do
you got against don Maddingly? It's obvious you don't like him.

Speaker 22 (01:12:13):
He's a good guy, Midwestern boy from Adansville.

Speaker 18 (01:12:16):
If your nickname is.

Speaker 5 (01:12:18):
The name up the sport that you play, Donny Baseball,
you're automatically in the hall of.

Speaker 4 (01:12:26):
Looking for a big game from UC Clifton and.

Speaker 12 (01:12:29):
Good old don't Spect, Miss Saddy, Daddy and the boys.

Speaker 2 (01:12:33):
If you think of Evansville Athletics, I think of Kyle Freeland,
I think of Don Maddingly, and I think of Connor
Gilligan in no particular order.

Speaker 4 (01:12:42):
I I don't dislike Donny Baseball. I was being funny earlier.
We did the segment the first show the week we
talked about how exciting it was.

Speaker 30 (01:12:52):
Tony, I'm expecting a statement tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (01:12:54):
I'm expecting a white Patino.

Speaker 31 (01:12:56):
Suit, white alligator dress, shoes.

Speaker 24 (01:12:59):
I don't want.

Speaker 4 (01:13:01):
With the way, get it done.

Speaker 7 (01:13:05):
We're proud of you.

Speaker 4 (01:13:06):
Suit nights tonight. Man. You know what, I bet you
and Richard Patino probably similar build, no chance?

Speaker 3 (01:13:12):
Yeah, huh?

Speaker 4 (01:13:12):
How tall is Patino?

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
He's huge?

Speaker 4 (01:13:14):
Right? I thought he was a big dude?

Speaker 23 (01:13:16):
Is he?

Speaker 4 (01:13:17):
Hold on, I'm looking at I don't think so. Uh
Rick is six foot, but I thought Richard was a
tall fella. I don't think so. Are we sure about this?
I'm pretty sure, Rick Browing, I know you're listening right now.
On Wikipedia, it says Rick Patino Junior is five to ten.
There's no way five to ten. There's no way that's true.

(01:13:40):
Five to ten. I don't believe that. Unbelievable believe. Also,
I hate to break it to you.

Speaker 15 (01:13:50):
Alive to attend Tony's festivities tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:13:57):
We just got a call from out.

Speaker 15 (01:14:01):
He's not going to be able to cover this soon,
So cover America's Chucking Network.

Speaker 4 (01:14:08):
Oh man, we'll see to you and takee recording of
Tony Man. I used to do America's Trucking Network. I
used to to produce that show with Steve Summers. Man, God, God,
I love Steve Summers. And we had a bunch of
great guys on there. We had Monkey Gouger. We'd call
in every night. There was a bunch of and at

(01:14:30):
one point I think Mo gave me the truck and
handle of smelling salts. Oh so I was smelling salts
for a little while. But yeah, you want to talk
about somebody who absolutely hated their life, it was me
midnight to five.

Speaker 8 (01:14:43):
Hello, this is former President Ronald Reagan and way all, Tony.
I'm looking forward to tonight. In fact, my outfit is
on its way as well. My good old buddy Yaser
Era Fat is sending me what he promises to be
the coolest bearcat chic fit ever.

Speaker 4 (01:15:00):
Wow, we'll see I hope, I hope mister Reagans there tonight.

Speaker 31 (01:15:05):
Hey, guys, Marcus from the groove college basketball question, How
do you guys feel about these teams like the Bearcats
facing top twenty five teams in an exhibition game because
Kentucky plays Number one per Due tonight in an exhibition game.
And I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:15:24):
I just feel like had been better for regular season.

Speaker 31 (01:15:27):
They for the Bengals side with sawsin, Garrett Wilson being
out doesn't change much.

Speaker 4 (01:15:33):
Just win, baby, Yeah, just win baby.

Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
And I was a subscriber in exhibition games until I
watched how the regular season unfolded after what you see
did to Ohio State last year in the exhibition. So
I am I'm not bought in yet, but I may
try to have it streaming on my phone at the
ceremony night.

Speaker 4 (01:15:52):
I don't know that I really have an opinion on
preseason college basketball, to be honest with you, I don't
know that I've given it much thought.

Speaker 5 (01:16:00):
Hello boy, Marge.

Speaker 32 (01:16:05):
Well I got my two favorite boys back together again.

Speaker 5 (01:16:10):
Oh joy.

Speaker 32 (01:16:12):
It was like Liver without the onions or Skyline Chili
without the cheese and crackers. Oh you know they tried
to get rid of me once too, Tony. We're Cincinnati icons.
You can't keep a good woman or a man down.

Speaker 4 (01:16:29):
Wow, Wow, march that march awesome, marching in charge. Have
not heard from Aunt Marge in a long snackhead.

Speaker 3 (01:16:41):
This is girth, brother Towny.

Speaker 33 (01:16:43):
I help you enjoy your time tonight and this weekend
being inducted to the Hall of Fame. You very well
deserve it. You're a Hall of Fame player on the field,
off the field, behind the mic, and is a human being.

Speaker 4 (01:16:57):
Oh well, thank you. Nice of you to say, Garth,
what's up?

Speaker 34 (01:17:01):
Tony and Austin Adam from Mount Adams on Friday going
to Dart to the NBA season on and off the court.
I'm glad the powers that be kept inside the NBA
on TV. I think it's the best show on TV.
They pointed out that Aaron Gordon's ten threes last night
were the most of the season opener since Terry Roseier
in twenty Barkley says we should probably go to commercial
after that. Tony, congrats on the Hall of Fame. Enjoy

(01:17:23):
every second this weekend. I'll see you all on the
Bailey Monday night.

Speaker 4 (01:17:29):
Week I was on that one. I was that I
would be.

Speaker 25 (01:17:36):
If I didn't say congratulations, have a great time.

Speaker 7 (01:17:39):
Tonight.

Speaker 4 (01:17:41):
Hope your suit fits.

Speaker 3 (01:17:45):
Uh, Chauncey Pops, I can't say.

Speaker 4 (01:17:48):
He one of the few NBA players I know they
went to Colorado and a great free throw shooter. He's
got that going for. They used to call him mister
big Shot.

Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
Phillips.

Speaker 4 (01:18:02):
Good afternoon, gentlemen. This is Rolford Michigan.

Speaker 35 (01:18:05):
Welcome back, Tony, and congratulations from being inducted in.

Speaker 4 (01:18:09):
The UC Hall of Fame tonight.

Speaker 35 (01:18:11):
What do you get anyway, buddy, ranging a plaque?

Speaker 4 (01:18:14):
I don't know.

Speaker 35 (01:18:15):
You imagine getting a head bust of yourself the NFL
goes out. I know there's not a head place next
to Oscar Robertson. Oh boy, have a great night, buddy.

Speaker 4 (01:18:25):
It is a I know for a fact it is
not a bust. I don't know what it might just
be a plaque. It is not a bust.

Speaker 19 (01:18:33):
I tell you call me Rich Homi Kwan because Tony
Pike talking in that smooth voice in that video got
me feeling some type of waym.

Speaker 31 (01:18:45):
You know who the ninety year old Taylor didn't dress
Joe Burrow.

Speaker 22 (01:18:49):
He got Allen DeGeneres and Hillary Clinton stylist boom.

Speaker 4 (01:18:55):
Rest of the time, Tony Austin George from.

Speaker 36 (01:18:59):
Gratus an awesome honor man. As for the game last night,
did you guys see a sighting a Bobby Hart starting
it right guard?

Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
I mean I right tackle?

Speaker 5 (01:19:09):
What is going on?

Speaker 3 (01:19:10):
Yeah?

Speaker 36 (01:19:11):
Like, I mean the Bengals couldn't do anything there. He
comes out of retirement. You looked pretty decent last night.
That made me sick.

Speaker 5 (01:19:20):
The Ravens.

Speaker 36 (01:19:21):
Of course, he wasn't coming to Cincinnati. I mean, the
Bengals would do something.

Speaker 4 (01:19:24):
Whod Michael Jordan uh not the hooper also playing for
the Tampa Bay Bucks and playing some good snaps too. Yeah,
former Bengal legends on the open.

Speaker 7 (01:19:34):
What's up?

Speaker 24 (01:19:35):
Boys?

Speaker 17 (01:19:35):
I wanted to call in and congratulate TP on being
inducted into the Bearcat Hall of Fame. What a fantastic
honor you deserve it. I'm thrilled for you, and what
an amazing story. Right comes from a small town Redding
blue collar, spent most of his career handing the ball
off to Deshaun Win, hitting six foot bank shots on

(01:19:58):
the basketball four and now a Hall of Famer get up.

Speaker 4 (01:20:02):
That was a big, big fundamentally. I at the bank shots.

Speaker 22 (01:20:05):
Happy Friday, fellas, I don't do that. Do you think
they have a better chance of winning a national championship sooner?
In football or basketball or neither football?

Speaker 4 (01:20:23):
Football? You can win it this year if you're not
google them. Yeah, they could win it this year football.

Speaker 37 (01:20:29):
Hey guys, Mike Independence here, Tony probably season night. I
can't spring for the VP experience, so I'll be in
gent pop, but wouldn't miss it for the world.

Speaker 4 (01:20:41):
Hopefully we get a UC.

Speaker 37 (01:20:42):
Victory tomorrow and then a Bengals victory on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (01:20:47):
Let's go. Do you think Do you think we have
any other co workers coming tonight? Do you know of
any man? I don't know so far. All I know
is me and Tarn. Yeah, I'm gonna see Mo afterwards.

Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
That UC trailer he did, what was fire? Dude? He
gave me chills.

Speaker 4 (01:21:06):
Pretty bad, bad ass, that's dude. Congrats bad Thank you
appreciate that. Congratulations on the UC Athletic Hall of Fame, Kenny.

Speaker 27 (01:21:17):
My grandfather is in the Athletic Hall of Fame at
Keith Western Reserve, so I can tell you your grandchildren.

Speaker 4 (01:21:26):
Will take their children to see your flag.

Speaker 8 (01:21:29):
That's the hall of fame.

Speaker 21 (01:21:31):
That will happen.

Speaker 4 (01:21:34):
Yeah, thank you.

Speaker 23 (01:21:35):
That is.

Speaker 4 (01:21:35):
That is a pretty crazy thought, isn't it that one
day wild Man is going to walk into the UC
Hall of Fame with his little wild Man and start
talking about That's pretty neat?

Speaker 3 (01:21:46):
It is?

Speaker 4 (01:21:47):
That is cool. It's very cool. What up boys, Craig
and the Creek.

Speaker 38 (01:21:51):
DJ Turner is certainly a bright spot on an otherwise
terrible defense, and he's playing better than I anticipated. But
I'm just not feeling the local love he's getting lately.
We're acting like he's a shutdown corner. The pass breakups
and the interceptions is more a symptom of opportunities than anything.

(01:22:11):
He is currently sixty fourth in receptions allowed and one
hundred and seventh in passer rating allowed.

Speaker 4 (01:22:18):
Okay, it's a symptom of opportunities, yesh. Recently, he's been
taking advantage of the opportunities over the last month. It's
undeniable played and he's played against some good wide receivers
while doing so. I mean, the Packer game was one
of the legit best games I've ever watched a Bengals
cornerback play.

Speaker 3 (01:22:37):
It was that good.

Speaker 4 (01:22:40):
Nobody is putting him in Canton and we're not trying
to crown him as the best corner that's ever played
for Nobody's gonna put him up there next to Ken
Ryther and leaving Lamar Parish and Durell Reeves. This is
all we're doing. But it's like, hey, here's a pretty
decent sample size of a guy who's playing really well.
Maybe that's a good sign of his development.

Speaker 5 (01:22:59):
Yep, Tony, welcome back, brother, Just heading back from your
neck of the woods. Getting some love boo boos, which
is a new term to me. How many la boo
boos do you have.

Speaker 22 (01:23:13):
In your house?

Speaker 5 (01:23:13):
Christmas gift twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (01:23:17):
Expensive?

Speaker 4 (01:23:18):
I don't know anything those are you boo boos? But
I've seen a few of them pop in. What are
they are? They like dolls? They're like those little, like
fuzzy dolls that look like trolls that are uh no,
They're probably about the size of your hand, like people
clip onto their bags and stuff out. Orlando Brown Junior
probably has a couple on his belt loops.

Speaker 16 (01:23:38):
Jeff from case here, Hey, Tony, sorry about this. I
love you, love the show. But the answer to the
question is will you see become a destination job is easy.
The answer is no, go back a Friday, Man, Well,
I would a Friday.

Speaker 4 (01:23:54):
I would push back on that and say, nobody ever
really thought at one point that you see would become
what it is today. Right, how many destination jobs currently
are there in college football?

Speaker 2 (01:24:04):
Handful? Maybe destination destination. So I think there's a different
level of that. And also, I guess never going to
be a Bama or in Ohio State, but it can
be that next year.

Speaker 4 (01:24:13):
Down did you say, you know I'm recording.

Speaker 23 (01:24:16):
That.

Speaker 4 (01:24:17):
I don't remember what I just saidst to God, though,
part of the reason why you're going into the Hall
of Fame tonight is because of what you and that
team did for Bearcat football and putting it on the map,
and the fact that you guys did what you did
cleared the path for years down the road for Fickle
and Desmond Ridder and those guys to get to the

(01:24:37):
college football playoff. So who's to say that now that
they're in the Big twelve and the ever changing landscape
of college football, who's to say that that's not a
possibility in the future. They said in the future, not
right now. Yeah, that was it. Okay, that's a good
set of talkbacks, Man, it was pretty good. That's one
of the better days in recent memories. Shout out to
yits Shout out to Yits Man one segment, Yes, Tommy

(01:25:00):
g to kick off our three We've got pick them
and more coming up. ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati Sports Station,
on the Friday Football Frenzy.

Speaker 14 (01:25:07):
So uc KWI Cincinnati, make us the number one pre
set on your car radio and on the free new
and improved iHeartRadio app. Free never sounded so good.

Speaker 3 (01:25:16):
ESPN fifteen thirty.

Speaker 9 (01:25:17):
When you've met, this is Football in the NATI, brought
you in part by Bud Light and by Oakley Greens
on ESPN fifteen thirty, the official home of the Cincinnati Bengals.

Speaker 2 (01:25:31):
Yeah, welcome back. It is Football in the Natti. It's
the Friday Football Frenzy. ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati Sports Station,
Tom Gellerder, We'll talk a little football with us at
two o'clock. That's FC Cincinnati, That's Columbus Crew.

Speaker 4 (01:25:45):
Hell is real, hellth is realith I got to talk
about something here, go ahead. This is a very important
day in the history of professional football. Oh in this town.
Today tone is the fifty first birthday of the great
Corey Dylan clock Killing clock killing Corey Dylan, who of

(01:26:07):
course starred at the University of Washington back in the
nineties nineteen ninety six, second round pick of the Bengals
in nineteen ninety seven and was a Super Bowl champion
with the New England Patriots and Super Bowl thirty nine.
Four time Pro Bowler Bengals Ring of Honor Bengals fiftieth
Anniversary Team. How about this on the Patriots All two

(01:26:28):
thousands team. On the Patriots All Dynasty Team eleven two
and forty one rushing yards still to this day, averaging
four point three of carry with eighty two rushing touchdowns
over nineteen hundred receiving yards and seven receiving touchdowns. Clock
killing Corey Dyllon breach my favorite athlete of all time.

(01:26:49):
Happy Birthday, Corey, Happy Birthday, Corey Man. All the great
ones I'm told are born on the twenty fourth of
the month.

Speaker 2 (01:26:54):
Wow so quick cup date if you missed it earlier.
Logan Wilson has requested a trade from the Cincinnati Bengals
and I've requested a raise. Carrott, Wilson and Sauce Gardner
will both be out on Sunday. Aaron Glenn says that
this quarterback, Tyron Taylor is questionable but trending in the

(01:27:15):
right direction with a knee injury. Yet to make a
decision on who will start at quarterback for the New
York Jets. Here's Aaron Glenn earlier this morning.

Speaker 39 (01:27:24):
He is limited all right today, and he is questionable.
And I like the way those guys are trended.

Speaker 4 (01:27:30):
So are you able to tell us who's gonna I
cannot tell you that, But that's exactly it.

Speaker 5 (01:27:41):
Question.

Speaker 4 (01:27:42):
Isn't that answer this? Potentially? That's exactly why I'm not
telling you because I don't want to. I understand that,
but I mean, is it? Is it partly because of
the injury?

Speaker 39 (01:27:51):
Exactly why I'm telling you. I'm saying it because I
don't want to. I don't know how many times I
got to answer you that it's not.

Speaker 4 (01:27:57):
Going to change. Eric, You've seen enough. I love Glenn, man,
It's awesome. Love it, love it, love it. Let's grab
a call John.

Speaker 3 (01:28:07):
What's up?

Speaker 6 (01:28:10):
Happy Friday, Tony, Happy Friday, Austin.

Speaker 3 (01:28:12):
How are you you too?

Speaker 4 (01:28:13):
Well? Are you John?

Speaker 6 (01:28:16):
Pretty good?

Speaker 4 (01:28:16):
Pretty good?

Speaker 40 (01:28:17):
I am just a couple of suggestions on what you're
going to do tonight for your fear and by the way, again, congratulations,
thank you. First of all, you made the right decision
to go with the Italian suit and with the Italian tailor.
I'm an Italian American, most fashorable country in the world, so.

Speaker 4 (01:28:32):
You made the right decision.

Speaker 40 (01:28:33):
I just wish I knew about it a little earlier
because Italians work very slowly, very slowly, because their perfection
is there are in no rush to do anything. If
you've ever seen an Italian film, nothing happens in it
other than someone smokes a cigarette halfway through the movie.

Speaker 6 (01:28:50):
So there is not a lot going on.

Speaker 7 (01:28:52):
They hope you can kind of get on them.

Speaker 2 (01:28:54):
They sent me a picture this gentleman Rimaldo, who is
ninety years old. I got sent up picture. He is
hand sewing a custom UC pocket square as we speak.

Speaker 4 (01:29:05):
Wow. Oh man, So where is where is he?

Speaker 5 (01:29:09):
In Incinnati?

Speaker 4 (01:29:10):
Yeah? Yeah, they're literally five minutes from the station. Okay,
so that's a good sign.

Speaker 23 (01:29:14):
You'll get it done.

Speaker 40 (01:29:15):
You're probably gonna have to pick it up and go
right to the event. But yep, so be you're going
to be the sharpest looking guy in there.

Speaker 4 (01:29:20):
Man, ready to go.

Speaker 40 (01:29:21):
The other thing, too, is what the alternatives would be.
I think Marshalls is out right after you Blula M'Crie earlier.

Speaker 4 (01:29:27):
In the week for what how they can you do? Yeah,
I don't think I could go back to Marshalls right now.

Speaker 40 (01:29:33):
Okay, yeah, I don't think Marshall push the Italian suit.
Marshals a little bit different, especially for such a big event.
You do have the most stylist quarterback in the NFL
there and Joe Burrow, so I recommended last week reach
out to him and his stylist. Maybe they can help
you in a pinch.

Speaker 4 (01:29:47):
Yeah, the stylist got back to me and said that
the back list suit was available, but I just wasn't
comfortable enough going with that.

Speaker 7 (01:29:54):
Oh you's gonna go with that?

Speaker 40 (01:29:55):
I think he always also has a backless suit with shorts, yeah, which.

Speaker 2 (01:29:59):
Is n It's really it's a little chili in Cincinnati
right now though, So I don't know how well.

Speaker 4 (01:30:03):
That would go.

Speaker 40 (01:30:05):
We're getting that here too, so yeah, I can kind
of get that. But I think any any man that
can dress up like a toddler's pretty calm.

Speaker 2 (01:30:10):
Now, John, are you old school in the sense that
you know fresh suit? Do you got to go dress shoes?
Because a lot of folks now go with like the Kicks.
They go with maybe a pair of Jordan's. Do you
got to keep it classy?

Speaker 40 (01:30:23):
You gotta keep it classy. There's different shoes. Balleys would
be a good choice. That's a Swiss shoe that's outstanding.
I used to wear them. You want to have a
very simple belt, or if you're going to go with suspenders,
but I think you're a pretty tall guy, so I
think the belt works better than this. Clean belt, y,
clean belt, very clean belt, nothing too much white shirt,

(01:30:44):
big fan of white shirt. And then as far as
now what color is the suit?

Speaker 3 (01:30:48):
All black?

Speaker 6 (01:30:50):
You gotta go with red tide obviously for the beer taps.

Speaker 3 (01:30:53):
Yes, okay, I think I think we get you.

Speaker 6 (01:30:56):
You know pretty much too.

Speaker 4 (01:30:58):
I'm ready. I just need to get it, all right,
I just get it.

Speaker 40 (01:31:01):
Tell told Romaldo to, you know, walk a little quicker,
to put that pocket square in history.

Speaker 4 (01:31:06):
All that's right, That's right. I'm ready to go to John.
Thank you, congratulations again, appreciate you what more quick. NFL
note The Giants have been fined by the NFL for
breaking the evaluation of the concussion Protocol of Jackson Dart

(01:31:26):
Brian Day Ball was fined one hundred thousand dollars running,
So the Giants two hundred's got to pay that. The
Giants two hundred thousand, dave All one hundred thousand, and
Camp'scattaboo was fined fifteen thousand for violating concussion protocol during
the evaluation of quarterback Jackson Dart. How does that happen?

(01:31:49):
Fifteen k out the pocket of campscot My goodness, that's insane.
What do you think Scottaman was doing? He just in
the tent like, no, he's good, he had He's probably
seeing it out side, just screaming or just outside like
banging his head on the side of it exactly. Gosh, skataboom.
Scataboo himself is concussion protocol. Yeah, I just with him.

(01:32:12):
He makes me uncomfortable. And I thoroughly say, kids, concussions
are a serious, serious thing. Enjoy this run that he's
gonna have. Enjoy and put and we say this because
it's his fault. Yeah, a lot of the time. Enjoy
every bit of this run. I don't think it's going
to be a you know, long tenured, twelve year career
as a running back, but he's gonna have some good years. Man.

(01:32:35):
He runs hard, and I respect that from Camp Scattabull,
not as much as I respect our guy. Tom Gallader,
the consummate professional, the voice of FC Cincinnati, willing to

is pushing through it as well. Let's talk orange and Blue.

(01:34:16):
Let's do so with the voice of FC Cincinnati, Tom Gallader, Tommy, Tommy, Tommy,
what's going on?

Speaker 4 (01:34:23):
Tony?

Speaker 24 (01:34:25):
Is that you?

Speaker 4 (01:34:25):
That's me?

Speaker 30 (01:34:26):
Are my ears deceiving me? Anthony Pike the Hall of Famer?
Tonight's tonight we are back baby, getting ready for the playoffs.
Your voice is on the other end of his interview.
I hear often chuckle in there as well.

Speaker 4 (01:34:39):
Terrific Trio Man, three Musketeers. It's so good. It's good.
Is so good to hear and my Fridays are complete again?

Speaker 2 (01:34:50):
How how much is this a welcome thing, Tommy? To
have Columbus as the first round matchup? Is this something
that you want to welcome? Did you I want to avoid?
You want to just spell the demons?

Speaker 4 (01:35:03):
What are we doing?

Speaker 8 (01:35:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 30 (01:35:05):
You want to expel the demons of two years ago.
I don't think there's any question about that. But I
think man I spoke at an event the other night
and I said, it's the matchup.

Speaker 4 (01:35:16):
That nobody wanted and everybody wanted, probably right, you.

Speaker 30 (01:35:20):
Know, we kind of watched it play out on Saturday
during Decision Day as e took control and the two
seed was going to be certain. You know, Columbus came
into the day they were playing the wild card they
would have had to play on Wednesday night and instead,
and they trailed early in the match of New York,
and then they started to come back, and then I
saw him. You know, I'm kind of keeping an eye
on my laptop out of the corner of my eye,

(01:35:42):
and I see him take the lead, and I'm doing
the mass of my head and I look at Kevin,
you know, after a foul or a whistle of the
balls out of play, and I'm like, keV, you know
what this.

Speaker 4 (01:35:49):
Means with Columbus going up to one.

Speaker 30 (01:35:51):
They just moved up to the seventh Sea and Chicago
is not winning, so they won't jump in there unless
they do win.

Speaker 4 (01:35:57):
We got hell is real right now, So if you
want to win in lest Cup.

Speaker 30 (01:36:02):
You're gonna have challenges right in adversity, and it's not
gonna be easy. And Columbus may have some guys out
and may have some guys banged up and injuries whatever,
so does SC Cincinnati. But these two are going to
go head to head like they have the last few years,
and it's gonna be some crazy battles. And if you're
a diehard supporter on either side, you better have some
heart pills as my guess. You know, I'm I'm optimistic

(01:36:24):
and certainly hope that it's a two match sweep in
favor of the Orange and Blue.

Speaker 4 (01:36:27):
But but this thing is almost certainly going to go
three games, I would think.

Speaker 30 (01:36:31):
But man, it's uh, it's great for television and it's
great for you know, the common Major League Soccer fan
probably loves it, and I'm sure the league loves it.

Speaker 4 (01:36:41):
But its a lot of storylines, brother, that's for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:36:46):
Match one the first time around this year, it was
a late penalty kick that resulted in a one to
one tie for the Crew and FC Cincinnati. FC Cincinnati
then fell four to two at the hands of the
Columbus Crew, despite trailing early in that game.

Speaker 4 (01:37:03):
Two zero.

Speaker 2 (01:37:03):
So how do you eliminate what went wrong in those
first two and how do you capitalize on maybe where
you have an edge?

Speaker 30 (01:37:10):
Yeah, I think you went down in the match, went up,
i should say, the Columbus, and felt pretty good about
you know, the one one draft, even though the disappointed
the disappointment of the penalty kick and you know you
didn't give up a goal from the run to play,
but you went into their house you got a point.

Speaker 4 (01:37:23):
Okay, that's fair.

Speaker 30 (01:37:25):
Obviously the match in July at Tikio Stadium was just
incredibly disappointing.

Speaker 4 (01:37:31):
You go up two nail five minutes in.

Speaker 30 (01:37:33):
I was when I was at this event at the
night they played the highlight of that second goal and
had my call on it, and I kind of blew
out my voice at that moment, and it took me
like six weeks to bounce back. It was at one
point we were doing these Friday interviews in Austin Anser.
I was okay, like it took me like five six
weeks to get my voice back after that. And you know,

(01:37:54):
so that that that's how big it was. Right, you're
up two nail five minutes in, but there's eighty five
minutes left, and Columbus is really good, and they scored
twice at the end of the half, so it's tied
at halftime, and and then they take over in the
second half, and it was just so so incredibly disappointing.
And Obina Walberto was actually hurt in that match. That
the match he got hurt and then you know, just

(01:38:15):
came back on decision day for the first time. So look,
there were a lot of reasons why that one fell apart,
and you know kind of will certainly assess all of
those going into this series.

Speaker 4 (01:38:28):
That is the first round. It'd be really.

Speaker 30 (01:38:30):
Interesting, you know, to see what the lineups look like
for both teams. I think there's question marks on each side.
But as always, like fans going to be really good defensively,
and I feel really good about where their attack is
right now. So if they can get the goals and
they can get control and get some momentum, then I
think they put themselves in, you know, position to be
really successful.

Speaker 4 (01:38:49):
What's the biggest difference in this team now than in
that four to two loss to Columbus.

Speaker 30 (01:38:54):
Yeah, well, I think, like I just said, you know,
as far as the attack is concerned, now you have
Brenner in the mix.

Speaker 4 (01:39:01):
You know, Brenner was brought in.

Speaker 30 (01:39:03):
Last minute in the summer transfer window. And Kevin and
I remember the the first time we came on the
air when he dressed. I said, Kevin, he has six games, uh,
you know, to contribute to help this at the time,
I'm chasing a support shield, but to help this team
be positioned for the twenty twenty five MLS Cup playoffs.

Speaker 4 (01:39:20):
You know, what what does that look like?

Speaker 30 (01:39:22):
And you know, we kind of agreed that if he
had three or four goals in those six games, he's
doing his job. He came away with four goals in
an assists, so you know, he very much did his
job and contributed five goals in six games at the
great pace, And I think that was really the missing
piece alongside Kevin Dank ahead of a Vander And you know,
of course he's he's resilient. Brenner is and as is

(01:39:44):
a Vander, so they have a little bit extra chemistry together.
So I think that attacking trio is in a way
better place than it was in July. And I think
the midfield is really strong. I mean it was very
strong when these two teams met in July with they'll
be a robo Pavel Buka. But Obi's been out for
a while and what we learned while Obi was out
was that Brian and Nunga can be a formidable force

(01:40:07):
in starting for him. And then Sammy Guide comes in
and Sammy Giddy has been very good in his stead.
So I think the depth is there this first round.
We don't have to worry about one hundred and twenty
miny games, but obviously your hope is to advance, and
after that you do and you're gonna need depth in
these battles to get through. And I think that Chris
Albright went out and really took care of all of

(01:40:30):
that c Cincinnati's needs that maybe they didn't have at
the beginning of July and now they do.

Speaker 4 (01:40:35):
Everyone when you get through a long, grolling season like this,
everyone is fatigue. Everyone has the bumps and bruises. Other
teams have injuries as well. From a sheer health and
availability standpoint, from the full roster, where does this team stand.

Speaker 30 (01:40:50):
Better than you know the last time I talked to you,
at least a couple of weeks ago. You know, Roman
telling Tunnel was out started on decision day, got a
clean sheet against Montreal. That's a big box to check
your starting goalkeepers back.

Speaker 8 (01:41:03):
Now.

Speaker 30 (01:41:04):
Evin Laurel, to be fair, did amazing while Roman was gone,
and it's great to have, you know a former backup
that if something happens, Roman has to come out, you
know that Evan will do a fantastic job. But Roman
is back. Ohbin Olbedo played forty five minutes. He started
that match against Montreal and was back on the pitch,
So I think getting those two guys back into the

(01:41:24):
knicks was awesome. Kevin dn Gate didn't play, but he
was suspended, so healthwise he is fine. Andrew at Schanike
got hurt a couple weeks ago in that match against
the Red Bulls, the final road game of the regular season,
and he was available on the bench, didn't play, but
it sounds like he's in training this week. It sounds
like Luco Arshano got back into the knicks and those
are the positives right. Unfortunately, Matt Mayasga is still out.

(01:41:45):
For the timeline that Pat Noon had given last week,
it sounds like Matt won't be available definitely for Game one.
We'll we see him in all in the first round.
I think that's the question of Mark At this point,
Lucas Engel, coming out of the Red Bulls game, has
had some nerve pain. He did not participate on decision
Day last time out for the Orange and Blue, and
from reports, he has not.

Speaker 4 (01:42:04):
Trained yet this week, so we're not quite there.

Speaker 30 (01:42:06):
Normally, I talk to you guys on Friday and we're
previewing a match that's coming up in twenty four hours
or you know a little more than that, what twenty
s eight hours or so, So there's not a lot
of time, you know, for some of these injuries to change.
In this situation, there's time, right the match is not
until Monday, so we may see some guys come back
into the group. Ayu Jabari remains injured. He has not trained,

(01:42:28):
so we may not see him in game one. So
there's definitely a couple pieces of the puzzle that are
concerning as far as injuries are concerned.

Speaker 4 (01:42:36):
But again it goes to that.

Speaker 30 (01:42:37):
Point about Chris Albright. He has stacked this team such
that they have depth. They were missing some numbers on
decision Day, with the guys have filled in did a
good job, and I think they have a high level
of confidence in the guys who.

Speaker 4 (01:42:50):
Will be available on Monday night. How do you view
a season that started off in transition because you lose
an MVP in the MLS and you have turnover in
the roster, And we talked earlier in here, it takes
time to kind of get that going. On the field,
we talked about how unique the start of their schedule was.
He really didn't have much practice time, and then they

(01:43:11):
got it rolling, and then there was a stretch where
things felt off, and then they get it back together.
Here are the playoffs. We talked about the rivalry with Columbus,
but just from a overall season field, Tommy, how important
does it feel for this organization to be able to
advance into the MLS playoffs?

Speaker 30 (01:43:29):
No, I think it's remarkable. Honestly, you finished one point
out of the supporter shield. In the end, Philadelphia lose
on decision Day and ef she sincen he win and
he ended up one point behind him. Now, of course
we could play that game and go through the season
and say, well, you drop two points here, you drop
two points there, there's your supporter shield.

Speaker 4 (01:43:45):
But Philadelphia played that game as well.

Speaker 30 (01:43:48):
You didn't win it, right, No, I think it's we've
talked about this weekend and week out. Unfortunately too many
times you've asked me about injuries. Right hasn't had a
whole lot of consistency in his starting eleven And I
think that makes where the team is at all that
more impressive, the fact that they have been able to
accomplish everything they've accomplished this year in spite.

Speaker 4 (01:44:11):
Of not having some of these players available.

Speaker 30 (01:44:15):
And then let's go back to where you started the
question with a Vander coming on days before the season started,
you know, and Chris Albright at this event that I
was with him, he spoke on Wednesday night. He kind
of called a turmoil in preseason, right, Luco's departure, Evander's arrival,
Evander having like two or three days of training and
then jumping into a match. Evander was just named a

(01:44:37):
finalist for MVP, and rightfully so, I mean a remarkable
first season in Orange and Blue. And you can argue
that f C Cincinnati upgraded at the position with bringing
in Vander, which is kind of unimaginable considering what Luco
meant to this club during his ten years. So no,
I think Pat Noonan probably deserves a lot of credit

(01:44:58):
that he's not going to get because it's some of
the other storylines. You know, not a finalist for Coach
of the Year, and you know the guys who are
finalists are very deserving. But I think you can't overlook
what Pat has done in managing his team as they've
overcome so much adversity throughout the season.

Speaker 4 (01:45:20):
I look at kind of the direction now of the
MLS and Messi is now re signed with Miami. That's
a team that you could face in the conference semifinals.
How good is it for MLS to have Messi re
sign and stay in the MLS going forward? Yeah, I
think it's big, right.

Speaker 30 (01:45:37):
He obviously has meant so much to that franchise into
the league.

Speaker 4 (01:45:41):
As a whole.

Speaker 30 (01:45:42):
He's brought in some of his buddies who have you know,
very large profiles to join him, and we've seen some
of these other stars you have, you know, Son playing
out at LAFC and Mueller has gone on to join
Vancouver and and I think there's going to be more
of that as we push forward. Literally, just you know,
stepped out of an event that I'm at at your

(01:46:05):
alma mater. Here you see at the eighteen nineteen Innovation Center.
I'm speaking on a panel here in an hour with
your former teammate. Unbelievable, right, and and but Jeff Birding
was speaking, you know, moments ago, and talking about how
the league continues to evolve as far as their roster
rules are concerned, and how they want to find ways
to bring in more of those players like Son and

(01:46:27):
like Mueller and Messi and Jordi Alba and Bousquets and
so on down the line. That's gonna elevate every club,
right and next c Cincinnati, Carl Lindner has shown that
he's willing to spend the money to bring the guys
who want to come over and be a part of
everything that's going on in MLS. You know he's one
to do it and bring him here to Cincinnati. So
they're gonna fight the fight to keep doing that. And uh,

(01:46:48):
I think that's just gonna elevate the league. But yeah,
Messi's saying I'm sticking around and I'm gonna play more
games here.

Speaker 4 (01:46:54):
Is gonna help everybody. Tommy.

Speaker 2 (01:46:57):
It's it's so cliche because you get into a rivalry
game and you kind of throw everything else out the window,
and you've been a part of this rivalry now since
its inception. You go into a game like this on Monday,
a match of this caliber, and the stakes are are
as high as ever. Obviously, what are the keys to
getting to win, especially in game number one on Monday?

Speaker 4 (01:47:17):
Yeah, thank you listen. Even though it didn't go their
way in July. I think the quick start is so
important that seasons in Nattie.

Speaker 30 (01:47:23):
And it's funny when I told Pat this in our
meeting on Saturday before the match. They had him scored
at home in the first half of their five previous
matches like that mind boggling, right, And they did that
against Montreal, and obviously that was a big boost. And
then then there was a nervy moment and then into
the half and the penalty kick clunked off the post,

(01:47:44):
so they didn't go in, you know, tied at one apiece,
and you wonder, how does that change the whole trajectory
of the match. I think getting off to a quick start,
even despite what happened last time, Like, you got to
get a goal, get that crowd wound up, you know,
get the keep the energy going in the building, and
then you got to believe in what this team does defensively.

Speaker 4 (01:48:04):
And I think.

Speaker 30 (01:48:05):
You know, folks tune in and they hear my halftime
interviews with Pat, like when this team struggles to follow the.

Speaker 4 (01:48:11):
Game plan, that's where they tend to fall apart.

Speaker 30 (01:48:14):
And or you know, at too nail, I remember Pat
telling us like Columbus got back into the game because
then too many players tried to make individual efforts right,
and they didn't play as a team. They're like, well,
we're up two nail, now it's my time to shine.
Like so I almoa try to do an individual play
as opposed to follow the game plan and continue to
do with godless at two nail in five minutes. You know,

(01:48:36):
I think, listen, like stick to the game plan, Like
we got great coaches, we got very smart people in
the dressing room, you know, sending sending the guys out there.
But if you could find a way to get off
to the quick start, control the temple. Columbus is a
really good team and despite the fact that some of
the guys they have hurt, they're still very talented and
they're very well coached. Wilford, Nancy said, great success, and
he came over from Montreal.

Speaker 4 (01:48:56):
To lead the crew. So no, I think, you know,
control and then.

Speaker 30 (01:49:01):
You know, believe in your defense because I think it's
really good get rolling.

Speaker 4 (01:49:03):
Back and goal.

Speaker 30 (01:49:04):
Your back line is good, so you know, let those
guys lead the way. It's at the pace, and I
think good things will be coming.

Speaker 2 (01:49:11):
That is Tom Gleener, the voice of FC Cincinnati, a
Monday night matchup at TQL Stadium with the Columbus crew
coming in Round one of the MLS Playoffs, Game one
of the best of three series. Before I do let
you go, though, Tommy, I hadn't a chance the last
two fridays to talk to you. I can't imagine that
the feeling of pride that you have and being able
to watch Joe Flacco come to the Cincinnati Bengals and

(01:49:33):
contribute in the way in which he.

Speaker 4 (01:49:35):
Was able to do.

Speaker 30 (01:49:38):
Listen, I'm happy for Bengals fans that they're enjoying the
greatness of it is Joe Flacco.

Speaker 4 (01:49:43):
Do you enjoy a dinner alone at times? Yeah? Absolutely?
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 30 (01:49:49):
I mean, listen, and his kids are probably like about
the same age as mine, maybe a little bit a
little bit younger, and obviously yours are a bit younger
than that, but certainly having kids is Yeah, I mean,
I think anybody could enjoy it. But if you have
kids and you you start to figure out the chaos
of having dinner with kids, yep, have food flying everywhere
and I don't like this. Like whatever, Like you sit

(01:50:12):
there by yourself and you just have like a nice
chat with the bartender if you want, you watch every game.

Speaker 4 (01:50:16):
Is on TV.

Speaker 30 (01:50:18):
Nobody's picking at your food, nobody's drinking and drink like
it's it's spectacular.

Speaker 4 (01:50:24):
So yeah it is now now let's slip it on
you man?

Speaker 3 (01:50:26):
What what?

Speaker 5 (01:50:27):
What?

Speaker 4 (01:50:27):
What's else it looked like for tonight? Is everything picked out?
Are we ready to go? Well?

Speaker 2 (01:50:31):
You know, as of as of my latest correspondence, Tommy,
I went to Romaldo over here in Madeira.

Speaker 4 (01:50:36):
Oh I love that. Yeah, and that's a Hall of
Fame suit right there.

Speaker 2 (01:50:40):
My latest from Romaldo. I got a picture of him
at ninety years old hand sewing a pocket square. Wow,
I wanted to make a custom pocket square. Come on,
so I have been told the hope is that this
will be delivered at about two fifty five, which would
then give me an opportunity to go home. Got to
get the kids looking good for tonight. Mayor's gotta have

(01:51:02):
some time to get ready because she's dealing with the
kids right.

Speaker 4 (01:51:05):
Now, of course. So yeah, we're gonna, we're gonna, we're
gonna put our best on from head to toe.

Speaker 30 (01:51:11):
As happy as I am for you, and you know it.
We've we've corresponded. I was sitting here talking to John
Cunningham about it a little while ago. He's very excited
for the night, Like I'm as equally excited for your parents. Yeah,
like you know, I love your parents. Yep, We've always
had a great relationship. Like I would watch them like
beam right, like every time you did something. And so

(01:51:32):
I mean it from the botto of my heart. Brother, Congratulations.
I hope you enjoy it. Mayor the kids, I hope
they understand at least a little bit of what it means.
And uh, I know your parents will, so congratulating the
whole Pike family. Man, it's a it's an unbelievable story.
I saw a graphic note it said, what two thousand
and four to twenty ten or something.

Speaker 4 (01:51:49):
I think they had the years wrong. Yeah, the years
were the COVID years. And then you know, there was
a gray shirt in the red shirt for twenty twelve yeah,
I medical red shirt. But it's awesome, man, you're the best.

Speaker 30 (01:52:02):
It's so great to have our Fridays, to have our
whole thing back together again. And congratulations, enjoy it all tonight.
Make sure you sit there and soak it all up,
and it should be pretty good.

Speaker 4 (01:52:11):
Thank you, Tommy. I appreciate you. Enjoy the call on Monday,
and we'll talk again next week. I can't wait. See
boys there.

Speaker 2 (01:52:18):
He is Tom Galtter, the voice of FC Cincinnati. Tommy, Tommy, Tommy,
always appreciative of his time. When we come back, It's Friday.
High school season is nearing the end. Big high school slate,
big college slate, Big NFL slate. We'll go through all
of it with our weekly Pick them next on the
Friday Football Frenzy on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati Sports Station.

Speaker 3 (01:52:41):
Now your chance to win one thousand dollars. Enter this
nationwide keyword on our website. Credit that's credit.

Speaker 7 (01:52:48):
Enter it now.

Speaker 3 (01:52:49):
Nope, he doesn't know everything about it.

Speaker 2 (01:52:55):
Oh, how I've missed our weekly pick him Austin. And
to be quite honest, when things happened, some papers got
thrown away. I don't know what our records are. You know,
I might have a copy somewhere on my desk, but
they're not important for today. The important thing is we're
back making picks.

Speaker 4 (01:53:10):
One of the funnier things that happened is that I
went through and cleaned out the studio. Yeah, after you
left and threw away so much crap. Yep, that you
have accumulated so much show history may including apparently you're well.
I probably saw it and was like, well, this is
useless now, yep, and threw it away, and here we

(01:53:32):
are making picks again. Yeah, let's start with high school
football rivalry weekend for somebody inspired. More often it be
good content, great content, Yeah, content machines. Lakota West heads
to John Kidna's Lakota East squad. Yeah Kidna versus Bolden.
You got West or East and quand Bolden, Tom Oh Bolden,

(01:53:54):
I'll take Tom. I got Thom as well. I think
Lakota East is better than they have been in years past.
But I think this is kind of the time of
the year where Lakota West starts playing well, getting ready
for the playoffs. Day La Salle in Michigan, they come
to the pit all tiora elder elder.

Speaker 2 (01:54:13):
Elder is a machine. Yeah, it's Purple Friday. Yeah, I'm
taking Elder in a big, big win tonight for the
Panthers at home. By the way, this would wrap up
an undefeated regular season for coach Doug Ramsey and the Panthers.

Speaker 4 (01:54:27):
You know, I go and do a hit on seven
hundred WLW every Friday morning. Yes, And of course when
you walk into that studio, it's just Fox News all
the time. And the first thing I see every Friday
when I walk in there is Bill Hemmer wearing his
purple fry or his purple tie for Purple Friday. And
that is always a sign to take Elder. And I'll

(01:54:49):
take Elder tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:54:50):
There it is this, Austin, I think is a little
known bad blood game. These kids that grow up in
Marymont and Madeira, they grew up together. They go and
eat at the same restaurants. They're constantly with each other,
and then they get to high school and they go
to Marimont or they go to Madeira, and tonight these
two clash. It's at Madeira Marrimont a lot of school

(01:55:12):
pride as well. What do you think happens in this one, Austin,
I don't know anything about these two schools, but.

Speaker 23 (01:55:17):
I know that.

Speaker 4 (01:55:20):
Madeira. Okay.

Speaker 2 (01:55:22):
Now, when I was in dealing with the suit yesterday,
the Madeira head coach came in said, hello, had a
lot of nice things to say about this program, about
the Redding Blue Devils.

Speaker 4 (01:55:32):
Do you know his name about now? I don't remember
it now now I'm put on the spot. Had a
lot of nice things to say about my time at UC. Sure.

Speaker 3 (01:55:41):
Now.

Speaker 2 (01:55:42):
He was coaching at Wyoming my senior year and we
were up on Wyoming thirty five nothing at halftime. Wyoming
was a good team. He remembered that that was one
of his first appearances in the Cincinnati Hills League. I'm
taking his Madeira Mustangs tonight as well. All right, piquall
at Sydney. We're all on the same page, so find out.
I think we're gonna finish on the same page as well.

(01:56:02):
You want to talk about a lot of things happened
while I was gone. Sidney won a football game, yellow Jackets.
You're taking the yellow Jackets. I'll take pickwell, no, no, it's.

Speaker 4 (01:56:11):
Now what I said. Yellow Jackets beat down on West Carrollton.
Even though Sidney tried to lose that game, they did
everything in their power to lose that game. Big Night
tonight at du Hive, hosting their arch rival. Unfortunately, excuse me,
I couldn't read some buttons. I can't wait for this

(01:56:35):
week to be over. Give me pickould it beat Sydney?

Speaker 2 (01:56:38):
I got pick in a route as well reading the
Indian Hill. One of my fondest high school memories was
a triple overtime win at Indian Hill my senior year.
And it was homecoming and they had fireworks scheduled to
set off after the game.

Speaker 4 (01:56:56):
So we won.

Speaker 2 (01:56:56):
We ruined homecoming and we got a firework display as
we left the feet. Unfortunately, I don't think that happens tonight.
Give me Indian Hill.

Speaker 4 (01:57:03):
I'm right there with you. And just so you know,
this whole Tony Pike Victory Lap Hall of Fame, you know,
think back to yesteryear. I mean, this is we're gonna
have to retire that come Monday. I mean, this is
your last half hour, you know, and you get tonight
and you get the whole thing on Saturday, but taking
it in starting Sunday with you and and Ken and

(01:57:26):
Moe down at are you still doing that show? I
think so? Did they rename that Tony Pike's pregame sports talk.
Not yet.

Speaker 2 (01:57:31):
Oh, we'll see if they do. By Sunday. Okay, College Slate,
love and honor. Miami undefeated in the MAC. Western Michigan
undefeated in the MAC. Miami a one and a half
point favorite at home. Who you got, RedHawks?

Speaker 4 (01:57:48):
I'm on Miami too. Okay, this is getting to be
a boring segment.

Speaker 3 (01:57:51):
I know.

Speaker 4 (01:57:52):
Mightbe we're just smart? Maybe?

Speaker 7 (01:57:54):
All right?

Speaker 4 (01:57:54):
How about this?

Speaker 2 (01:57:55):
Kentucky gave arch Manning and Tennessee all they could handle
last week. Yeah, lost in Oak Now they welcome in seventeenth.
Think Tennessee just because of Mark Stoop's relationship against Moegger.
I can't pick Kentucky. Give me Tennessee plus eight or
minus eight and a half.

Speaker 4 (01:58:11):
I'm right there with you. And Kentucky's a basketball school
and basketball started so they stopped caring about football. Smart
Wisconsin is laying thirty one and a half. Thirty one
and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:58:21):
Their team total is seven and a half Austin. Is
there any way that won they can score more than
seven points and two?

Speaker 4 (01:58:30):
Can they cover? Look?

Speaker 2 (01:58:31):
This is a once proud Wisconsin program. Sure now laying
thirty one and getting thirty one and a half in
a game.

Speaker 4 (01:58:39):
The sad thing is.

Speaker 2 (01:58:41):
I like the Ducks and the grateful dead unis, yeah,
they're gonna cover thirty one and a half.

Speaker 4 (01:58:45):
I'm right there with you. But I do think the
Wisconsin team total goes over seven.

Speaker 3 (01:58:50):
And a half.

Speaker 4 (01:58:50):
Okay, I say it's an opening drive script they settle
for a field goal in the touchdown garbage time, touchdown
late to get them to ten points. Final score something
around sixty three to ten.

Speaker 2 (01:59:01):
Okay, Number three Texas A and M Number twenty LSU.
LSU has proven to be fraudulent. I was wrong about
LSU early in the year, and that's because I was
wrong about Clemson. Does LSU do enough at home only
getting two and a half in this one?

Speaker 4 (01:59:18):
No, this is a bloodbath. Texas A and M blows
them out, and it's so bad we start talking about
can Nike pony up the money to buy out Brian
Kelly like Adidas did for James Franklin.

Speaker 2 (01:59:27):
Well, I'm gonna take LSU with their backs against the
wall in this one. We're opposite finally for the first
time today. If this game goes south for LSU, you
have to wonder could twenty twenty six be Scott's Sudderfield
as the head coach, bk is the OC and Luke
Fickle as the DC at UC. Oh my gosh, do
we get the reunions that Tommy Tubberville, director of Football Operations.

Speaker 4 (01:59:49):
Dine me up, bring Tommy g back to do sideline
and then you'll be up into booth with Dan. Yeah.
I mean it makes a lot of sense.

Speaker 3 (01:59:57):
Love it.

Speaker 4 (01:59:57):
It's turned back the clock.

Speaker 2 (01:59:59):
Are you b into Diego Pavia and the Vanderbilt Commodoores
minus three and a half game days is gonna be there.
I know you like Missouri as well. I'm gonna take
Vandy lane three and a half. Yeah, no, this is
a Missouri statement win. Oh what's that guy's name, Eli something?

Speaker 4 (02:00:13):
Yeah, draper Witz or Drinkowitz something Eli Drinkowitz ye Eli Eli.
Give them fits at Vandy this weekend. And also I
love the herb Street dogs, Peter and Bo and all
of them. And I get this as a home game
for Kirk kurb Street now that he's moved back to Nashville.
But Vanderbilt just posted the most cringe thing about those dogs.

(02:00:34):
They give those dogs three lockers in their locker room
and they put tennis balls and food bowls in it.
I like the dogs. That's a step too far. Give
me Missouri in a statement win over Vandy at home.

Speaker 2 (02:00:46):
This to me is the first of two playoff elimination
games in the SEC over the weekend. That and the
other one is number eight Old Miss at number thirteen Oklahoma.
I'm on the Lane train here. I like Lane Kiffin.
I like this team coming off a tough loss against Georgia.
They didn't struggle putting up points against Georgia. They just
couldn't stop Georgia. I think they get enough stops against Oklahoma.

(02:01:08):
I'll take ole Miss.

Speaker 4 (02:01:09):
On the road. I'm right there with you. Oklahoma does
have a good defense. I do trust Brint Venables. I
think it's maybe low scoring, a lot more low scoring
than people might think, but Ole Miss wins.

Speaker 2 (02:01:20):
I call this one, Austin my happy hedge of the week.
Okay number eleven Baylor at Iowa State. Iowa State not
ranked b Yu is number eleven, but Iowa State's favored
in this game. I call this the happy hedge because
I'm gonna bet on Iowa State, and if I win,
then I win money. If I lose, well, then BYU

(02:01:40):
has a league loss, and then the Bearcats could potentially
sit on top of the Big twelve.

Speaker 4 (02:01:45):
Is the only undefeated team in league play. So give
me the Cyclones from Iowa State at home. BYU takes
care of business and covers two and a half. Okay, okay.
Baylor at the Bearcats. The Bears and the Bearcats.

Speaker 2 (02:02:02):
Baylor's coach earlier this week, Austin said that in watching film,
you see is far and above the best team they've
played against this year. Baylor so far has played against
the Auburn Tigers, they played SMU, who was number seventeen
at the time, they played Arizona State, they played Kansas
State and TCU. He said, far and above, this is

(02:02:23):
the best team we've seen to date. I am a
little nervous, Austin, because the number has gone from five
and a half to three and a half. I don't
know what folks are picking up that I'm not picking
up on. But it's Hall of Fame weekend, it's homecoming weekend,
and more importantly, it's a Baylor team that is not
good on defense. I think the Bearcats can score it will.

(02:02:45):
I think they capitalize on last week's first interception of
the year, and they forced Baylor, who turned it over
four times last week and their loss at TCU, they
forced a couple Baylor turnovers. You see gets it done,
and you see covers the number to weekend Bearcats.

Speaker 4 (02:03:01):
Thank you. In the NFL, are you buying in at
all to the four and three Carolina Panthers?

Speaker 23 (02:03:08):
No?

Speaker 2 (02:03:09):
Are you buying it at all? To Andy Dalton as
the quarterback. No are you buying in at all to
seven and a half points they're gonna get at home. No,
I'm taking the Bills as well. Same Browns at Patriots.
I am extremely impressed with everything the Patriots have done,
but this is an elite Browns defense. Do the Browns
have enough on the road to cover seven and a half?

Speaker 4 (02:03:30):
Yes? I think Jim Schwartz has a few things up
his sleeve for old Drake May, and because of that,
the Browns cover seven and a half. Patriots win the game,
but the Browns cover.

Speaker 2 (02:03:39):
I think there are legitimate arguments, Austin that you can
make out there that Drake May has been the best
quarterback in the NFL this season if you just look
at the numbers and what he's able to do and
who he's winning with. I think you can make that argument.
I think they do enough to cover against the Browns
at home. This is a game that has confused us

(02:04:00):
all week. Bears, Ravens Lamar Jackson's gonna play. Ravens are
laying six and a half. This is one of those games.

Speaker 4 (02:04:07):
Austin.

Speaker 2 (02:04:07):
I go back to dan Hord all the time, and
I'm not talking about the not an upset and uprising.
Just got chills again thinking about that. I'm talking about
dan Hord saying anytime you see a spread and it
just stinks to high heavens, somebody knows something that you don't.

Speaker 4 (02:04:21):
Yep, someone clearly knows something, because I don't know how
the Ravens are this much of us of a favorite
against the Bears, who have won four in a row.
So for that knowledge alone, I'll take the Ravens. Yeah,
I've watched enough for Ravens to know they stink. Give
me the Bears.

Speaker 2 (02:04:34):
You said, who stop Bears, Bear stop Arsh stop Bears. Uh,
Cowboys at Broncos. The number is three and a half, Austin.
I love what the Cowboys are doing offensively. I love
what Dak is doing and Pickens is coming into his
own Seedee, Lamb is back healthy. I know their defense
is struggling, but I think the Cowboys go on the

(02:04:55):
road and get this done and not only cover. I
think they beat the Broncos. Wow, okay, I got Broncos
covered three and a half. Okay, I'm glad we had
to be on the other side of something here. Packers
at Steelers. You told me earlier Austin, this is a
game you're looking forward to more than many. Yeah, Sunday

(02:05:15):
Night football. Aaron Rodgers said earlier in the week he's
going to retire a Green Bay Packer, Yeah, when it's
all said and done. But he's the quarterback of the
Pittsburgh Steelers right now, and the Steelers are coming off
a loss, albeit not because of the offense, because the
offense moved the ball extremely well against the stout Bengals defense.
The Steelers are home dogs. What do you think I
got the Packers? Are you like adopted as a Packer

(02:05:38):
fan now? Because you're timing I always.

Speaker 4 (02:05:39):
Loved the Packers secretly, and then I fell more in
love with them because of that trip to Green Bay.
So yeah, kind of okay, but I do love that
it's gonna be throwback uniforms for the Steelers and all
the stories and the conversations around Rogers. I think it's
gonna be cool. But I think the Packers can go
in there and spoil the.

Speaker 2 (02:05:58):
Party you mentioned earlier in the week. It's time to
see if the Giants are for real or not. Who
are you picking in this one? I took the Packers
as well. Okay, we want to see if the Giants
are for real. A collapse or they give up thirty
three points in the fourth quarter against the Denver Broncos. Eagles,
I think have been sputtering. Eagles are gonna lay seven

(02:06:18):
and a half against the division foe. What do you
think in this one?

Speaker 4 (02:06:21):
Eagles cover the spread, especially with them light pockets now
in New York. Yeah, I think Scattabo, I think this
is one of those Austin we've seen in recent memory
with Sirianni where people start to like doubt a little
bit and people don't talk about them as a contender,
and all of a sudden they come out and they
just dominate. I think that's what the Eagles do in

(02:06:42):
this one. Finally, we might as well make it our win.
Shoulders cheesy spread of the week because somehow, some way
this number six and a half. No Sauce Gardener, no
Garrett Wilson. By the way, there are two kinds of
football fans Austin. Those who already know how great win
Schulers chief spreads are for parties or watching games at home,

(02:07:02):
and those who are in for a real treat when
they discover win Shulers for the first time. Don't ask
why taste why any who four here?

Speaker 2 (02:07:11):
It is any any of the four awesome win Shulers flavors.
We thank them for their support here on the Friday
football Frenzy. Jets Bengals, Austin. I think this one is simple.
I know it's about just winning, but go win and
in doing so, score a lot of points on offense

(02:07:33):
and more importantly than that, get some confidence on the
defensive side of the ball, rolling into where this team
is trending.

Speaker 4 (02:07:39):
I like the Bengals. I like the Bengals. Big on Sunday,
no excuses, take care of business, beat the teams you're
supposed to beat. Blow out the New York Jets. Who
day day? That felt good to get a picking segment back.
What have we got coming back? Quick hit Moeggar is
going to join us for quick hitting. Mos here is here.

(02:08:00):
He is in for Lance down the Hall this evening
and he's gonna join us. And he's been here since
like nine o'clock this morning. So it's gonna be one
hell of a show tonight. I guess from six to nine.
But he said, I have something I want to get
off my chest for quick hits. Uh oh, so can
I join you? I said, Mo, You're welcome anytime. He'll
talk to us when we come back next The Friday

(02:08:21):
Football Friends you on ESPN fifteen thirty at Exercise and Leisure.

Speaker 19 (02:08:24):
They see it every day ESPN fifteen thirty, Cincinnati's sports station.
It's time for sixty quick Hits on ESPN fifteen.

Speaker 24 (02:08:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:08:35):
This is a special edition of the Friday Football Frenzy
Quick Hits because normally during the Friday Football Frenzy we
don't get to talk to Mo.

Speaker 3 (02:08:42):
I'm here and you're here. I'm here for three reasons.

Speaker 4 (02:08:44):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (02:08:46):
Number one, congratulations, thank you tonight, thank you, it's a
night you worked hard. And congratulations to the other Hall
of famers as well. You were mentioning Mike Mickens and
Tom Marveso have their names on the Ring of Honors,
and they're not in the Hall of Fame. Congratulations, I know, Merrity, Glenn,
just a little bit. Congratulations to her, So congratulations number two.
Can this be the end of the Tony Pike news cycle?

Speaker 13 (02:09:07):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (02:09:08):
I think it is.

Speaker 3 (02:09:08):
For two weeks he loses his job, okay, and then
now he's back. Everybody's happy, and now he's going on
the Hall of It And we saw a Pike to
Bin's day in like five weeks. Can we get a break?

Speaker 4 (02:09:19):
Cat calls on the shell?

Speaker 3 (02:09:20):
Can we can?

Speaker 23 (02:09:21):
We just?

Speaker 3 (02:09:21):
Can we get like a three week break?

Speaker 2 (02:09:23):
Austin gave me until Sunday morning when I joined you
and Ken at the Grail and we put an end
to it.

Speaker 3 (02:09:29):
You know, you think of since the last time you,
me and Ken were together at the grail, everything that's
happened the last time we were together. Joe Burrow was
getting ready to play against the Jacksonville Jackwar.

Speaker 4 (02:09:38):
Oh my gosh, and so a lot, a lot, the
last one.

Speaker 3 (02:09:41):
A lot has happened. I'll give you till tomorrow. You're
gonna get honored on the field and then off enough, Okay,
you and Kirk Kurbstreet's dog enough. I needed number two.
I had to take yesterday off because I was not
capable of doing this. I don't know if I should
criticize you guys or compliment you guys, because if it's me,

(02:10:02):
I'm doing three hours on Chauncey tips, this is the
best story. I mean, I'm nervous. Not good for Chauncey, but.

Speaker 2 (02:10:07):
I'm nervous because I feel like when the mafia is
tied in uh huh, that the best case for me
is just not talk about it.

Speaker 3 (02:10:13):
So Chauncey's got a choice. Yeah, this is what this
could be called Chauncey's choice. Chauncey's been doing card games
where you can rig card games using electronics, and I'm
really interested in this. But Chauncey's got a choice. He
could either go to the witness stand and throw members
of the mafia and not like know this Alito Mafia

(02:10:33):
five families right, John Dottie, like right, you know, uh,
save me the ball?

Speaker 4 (02:10:39):
Can you imagine?

Speaker 3 (02:10:40):
He can sit on the witness stand and throw the
five families under the bus and face whatever fallout comes
from that, or he can go to jail for a
very long time. Chauncey's choice, not a good one.

Speaker 4 (02:10:52):
Good luck?

Speaker 6 (02:10:53):
How are you?

Speaker 3 (02:10:53):
How do you do a show? Or not talking about this?
Like yesterday Logan Wilson requested a trade? Okay, who cares?
Chauncey Phillips is in fixed card games as the head
coach of the Blazers that are being orchestrated by the mob.
Apparently Kevin Garnett's being sucked in. And then you've got
player props not being met because players are faking injury.

(02:11:13):
There's how do you not talk about this for three hours?

Speaker 4 (02:11:16):
I'm more nervous because it it it ties in with
the mob, and I feel like the more you talk
about it the four the more the mob maybe turns
to you and say, okay, yeah, let's let's talk. Then
you're a big boy essentially already tied into it. Chauncey's choice.

Speaker 3 (02:11:31):
Chauncey's choice.

Speaker 4 (02:11:32):
I might be able to talk to Johnson.

Speaker 3 (02:11:33):
What do you think was going through his head when
the doorbell rang yesterday morning?

Speaker 4 (02:11:37):
Not great? Oh yep. Probably the last thing you said
at the press conference is let the chips fall where
they may, I mean legitimately.

Speaker 3 (02:11:46):
Yeah, not to be overly dramatic. The only way he
saves his ass go to jail for a long time
is to sell out the mob.

Speaker 4 (02:11:55):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (02:11:56):
You know what happens when you do that. Like he's
gonna have to go into witness protection.

Speaker 4 (02:12:00):
What about Gilbert Arena.

Speaker 3 (02:12:01):
Chauncey Billups, a basketball Hall of Famer, go into witness protection. Yeah,
Gilbert Arenas.

Speaker 4 (02:12:07):
Most people seem to think he's the reason it even
got this far to begin with.

Speaker 3 (02:12:10):
Including Gilbert Arenas.

Speaker 4 (02:12:11):
Gilbererenas has no problem saying yep.

Speaker 3 (02:12:14):
I have never been more interested so I Yesterday it
was like I could talk about Logan Wilson asking for
a trade, which all I would do then is say like, hey,
I still want a Snowcoille machine for the studio. What
am I going to get what I want? We're talking
about Chauncey Billups and his choice is that what you'll
do today tonight Sports Talks three hours. I'm looking for

(02:12:34):
an organized crime expert. Legitimately, I'm looking for like somebody
you see on one of those A and E shows.
I need somebody who can come on to talk about
the Five Families, Chauncey Billups and how he's going to
get killed if he rats out the mob. What about
your friend Anjeanette Levy, would she know anything about that?
That's a very good question. A Jeanette is America's best

(02:12:55):
crime reporter. Yeah, I don't know if she has covered
a lot of mob stories.

Speaker 4 (02:12:58):
Oblatory on this.

Speaker 3 (02:13:00):
Do you ever do either of you follow an Jinette
on Instagram? Used to be on Channel twelve, terrific reporter.
So she's on Instagram and her stories, like you know,
the Instagram story, you'll look at it. It'll always be
like a dismembered body found, and then the next pictures
like her and her dog, and then the next one's like,
you know, be headed cab driver. They think his son

(02:13:22):
did it? Watch on YouTube speaking, and then the next
ones like her son's Halloween gust.

Speaker 4 (02:13:27):
Speaking of Pablo tory Tony, he just posted an update
a little bit ago. A number of former pro athletes
played at these private poker games. One of them, according
to multiple sources with direct knowledge of a game that
took place in twenty nineteen, was Kevin Garnett. Big Ticket,
the big ticket man. This Actually it's unclear if he's

(02:13:50):
either involved or a victim. I would assume victim, But man,
how much of the three hours tonight will you spend
on this.

Speaker 3 (02:13:58):
I might just go to midnight and tell Sterling take
the night off as I do six hours on this story.

Speaker 4 (02:14:04):
I think you and Sterling together would actually be pretty
good on this. That this is the way his brain operates.

Speaker 3 (02:14:10):
It is yes, yes, literally yesterday, I was already going
to be off, but I'm like, I want to talk
about this, And like my wife sat down on the
couch and and she's like, I don't know what you're
talking about. Like this NBA coach who's in the Hall
of Fame has been in these contribation that are rigged
by the Five Families.

Speaker 4 (02:14:28):
And so when did he get there? It's the point.

Speaker 3 (02:14:33):
So yeah, so what he had to have done is
done something to piss off the mafia, like not throw
a game he was supposed to. And then it's like,
all right, Chauncey A.

Speaker 4 (02:14:40):
What do you think of the whole? And I know
that the more interesting part is probably the card games.
But basically Brian Windhorse saying that the NBA knew about
Terry Rozier and kind of swept it under the road.

Speaker 3 (02:14:52):
And Adam Silver's gonna have to explain that Chauncey Billups,
I think is most well known for his time with
the Detroit Pistons, would you agree?

Speaker 4 (02:14:59):
Yes?

Speaker 3 (02:15:00):
And back in the day in like four oh five,
the Pistons were in the NBA finals. Their their pa
announcer was made famous. But Detroit, right, and so can
they have him in the courtroom?

Speaker 7 (02:15:10):
Like, no, the.

Speaker 3 (02:15:12):
Witness stands six foot six from Colorado, Chauncey, or have
him represented in court? Like my client leads, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no guilty.

Speaker 4 (02:15:30):
Oh my gosh, defense, you have two minutes.

Speaker 3 (02:15:33):
The Cincinnati Bengals might win every game the rest of
the way, and I will still want to talk about
a lot more to talk about the card games and
the mob. So is that six to nine tonight? Bearcats,
No Bengals, Bearcats, Bengals, Mob. Hell is reel, hell is reel.
We have a little bit of everything today, we have
a little bit of everything tonight. We are Joe Flacco
is going to turn into a pumpkin at some point,

(02:15:54):
now hopefully not on Sunday, but at some point Joe
flak not literally, Joe Flacco was probably gonna turn into
an old pseudo backup quarterback. What happens when that happens,
does al golden.

Speaker 4 (02:16:07):
Is still fun? Is the same meeting alone still fun?

Speaker 3 (02:16:13):
You guys played the Jamar Chase. I understand why he
can't eat alone. I have no problem eating alone. Oh no,
What my issue is when you're eating alone, someone always
decides that you really don't want to eat alone. So here,
I'll bring my plate over and I'll talk to you.

Speaker 24 (02:16:29):
Now.

Speaker 4 (02:16:30):
He's going to get that everywhere, no doubt about it.
For himself, no doubt about it. I uh, which is
not what you want to do in the mob.

Speaker 3 (02:16:37):
I have I eat alone. Not all the time, but
I mean I will go eat a meal a meal alone,
and a lot of times somebody will decide person probably
really doesn't want to be alone. They need me in
their life. All right, there's other stuff coming up on
the show tonight.

Speaker 4 (02:16:52):
Moe's got a lot coming up. And then I'll see
you later on. You will see me later on. Congratulation,
Thanks you, We're done. Give you till tomorrow falls and
PEP Rally is next.

Speaker 2 (02:17:02):
Tangles Pep probably is next on ESPN fifteen thirty Cincinnati
Sports Station.

Speaker 4 (02:17:06):
Have a great weekend.
