Speaker 1 (00:00):
I want to six point seven LIGHTFM with Cobby and

(00:01):
Christine six forty eight Thursday morning week from Thanksgiving. Lot
coming up in the next few weeks. I mean, hey,
we haven't even talked about New.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Year's Eve yet. I know.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
Do Year's resolutions?

Speaker 2 (00:14):
Oh boy, do you do them? I every year, right,
we have the discussion do we do them? Do we
not do them? Do we do them? And it lasts
for like twelve days because we get those stats, right, yeah,
you know when we come.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Back twelve minutes for me.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yeah. There's a professor of psychology Coubby. His name is
Benjamin Gardner, and this is what he suggests for New
Year's resolutions. A soft launch. You've heard about store openings
that way and businesses they open the door, but they
haven't made the big announcement that we're open. Kind of
let people discover them. He wants you to do the

(00:46):
same thing with resolutions. This is he advises you do
a little trial and error, like what are your resolutions?
Try them out a little bit, now, see if that's
going to work for you or maybe it's not. He said,
it'll take some of the pressure off the small steps
to success. He said, help you build up to those
bigger challenges, and then there's not that all or nothing

(01:09):
thing that happens.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
It makes sense, yeah, because if you're kind of soft
launching it, like say today, and let's say you pick
four resolutions and you find a few dropped off, you're
not feeling guilty, but there might be that one that's
kind of sticking.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Right, and you're like, all right, well maybe this one.
I could do this come January first exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:27):
I like this.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
So it also allows for mental space. You can focus
on changes before the end of the year and around
the holidays, and then you know, you get back to
that big time in the new year. Right now, you
know like I can handle this. I can handle that.
I'm going to do it. I'm going to do it
up and tackle. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Yeah, do you do resolutions at all? I know you've
talked about this. I don't remember, but I think I
think when I was younger, I tried. Yeah, and then
when you get a little older, you're like, I know
by now, I'm never gonna.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Well, it's it's like the day by day thing, like
we're getting through life as a much of a loving
kind way as possible. Is kind of my new Year's resolution.
Every day, you know, day, just trying to be here
with my friends and family and loved ones and keep
us all up and going. That's it.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
But I do like the soft launch approach. Try that
if you're think about a new Year's resolution.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Yeah, definitely
