Speaker 1 (00:00):
Happy Friday from all of us here at Light FM.
Cubby Christine, producer Christen, thank you for turning us on
on this National Pizza Party Day. It's not it's not National.
Speaker 2 (00:09):
Pizza Day because that seems to happen a lot it does.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
National Pizza Party Day is today. Let's do that National
Mimosa Day. So far, I'm loving these days. National Do
Something Good for your Neighbor Day. Okay, National Bike to Work.
Speaker 3 (00:25):
Day, good for it of all days? Right with a
transit strike in New Jersey. And National Barbecue Day. Let
the barbecue season begin, because after all, Memorial Day weekend
is what two weeks there?
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Next weekend?
Speaker 1 (00:40):
It's next weekend? Wow? Yeah, where can we get some
good barbecue around here? By the way, I know we
have Virgils which times Square. Yes, we love that.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
You're wonderful.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
But New Jersey, Connecticut, New.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Jersey folks, we have a good place near us. It's
called Mighty Quinn's. Have you guys heard of that.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
One northern New Jersey? Yeah, mighty yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
I believe I've got the name right, Mighty Quinn's.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:03):
It's a right on Route three Clifton, Okay, whole area.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yeah, Well, Christian. You're closer to where I live.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
Yes, we have a good one right on thirty three,
and like the Monroe area. It's called what is it
called Bearded One Barbecue and it looks like a food truck.
It sits on the side of the road and you
could see the smoke from the smoker and there's always
a line, always a line.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
Very good sign.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Well Jersey Shore Barbecue. They have one in Point Pleasant.
They have one near us in East Brunswick that's pretty
good too. I'm a tab bit of a barbecue snob
because I lived in Houston, Texas for six years. We
had some of the best. You have, the real deal,
you know you can find again, the Tri State area
has it all, and you can find some good, authentic barbecue,
but you can also tell the difference if it's not
kind of good and authentic.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
What states are the most famous for barbecue? Then it's
would it be Texas?
Speaker 1 (01:49):
And off the top of my head, I would have
to say Texas.
Speaker 4 (01:52):
Yes, I think Austin's actually the number one city for
the best barbecue.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
Look at this producer here, Kristin, pulling it up as
we speak.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
Oh, would you like would you like the top ten
last Yes, okay, Well, number one is Austin, two is
San Antonio, then Kansas City, Memphis, Charleston, South Carolina, Greenville,
South Carolina, Honolulu at number seven for Korean and Hawaiian
style barbie nice, eight is Tulsa, nine is Durham, North Carolina,
(02:22):
and ten is Nashville.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Oh yeah, I've had a good barbecue in Nashville.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
But nothing around here. No, well, no again, shout out
to Virgils, because when I first moved here from Houston,
somebody said, if you want the closest authentic barbecue you
can get in the Tristid area, you want to go there.
And I've been going there at least a couple of
times a year.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
Since nineteen ninety six. Yeah, you're so good.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Yeah, but if you have a good local barbecue spot,
tell us about it. At four, four, three, six three,
hit us up on text. We have a crazy first
date next floor Cubby and Christine in the morning, just
ahead on one, I was six point seven light at them.
