Crazy First Date: "I Accidently Emailed Him"

Jenn called in with her "Crazy First Date" story and how she met her date by sending him an email accidentally.

Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's Cobby and Christine's crazy first date. Hey Christine, we
have jin on the phone and Jen met her crazy
first date in a weird way. How did you guys
link up?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
So we actually met online, but before there was like
the online dating scene. I emailed him by mistake, and
we kind of like communicated for about two years, just
emailing each other back and forth.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
So how did you email by mistake? Were you like
one letter off?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Yeah, I was one number and it happened to be
that he lived where I went to college, so he
knew like the business I'm talking about and responded back
and said, I think that you didn't mean to email me,
and you meant to email somebody else, but I know
exactly where you're talking about. And then we just started
talking from there.

Speaker 3 (00:53):
So why two years before you got together?

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Well, I was with someone else and he was with
someone else, and we were kind of just like each
other's diary. We never met. He didn't really know anything
except what I told him, and he and I only
knew what he told me. So we just communicated that
way and it was like a safe spot to like
vent and no one would ever find out, you know.

(01:17):
So then after I broke up with my boyfriend, and
he broke up with his girlfriend. We still communicated for
a little bit, and then finally he was said, I
think we should meet.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Wow, this is just like the movie You've Got Mailed
by the way, Yeah, it's totally It.

Speaker 2 (01:31):
Was before that, and I wish that we like sent
that script and because we could have been millionaires by now.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Oh yeah, yeah, you could have been shopgirl.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
This is like quite a build up for that first meeting.
So how was it when you two first saw each other.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
So when we met, he pretended he was on a
pay phone because he wanted to see what I looked like.
And then he approached me and said, you know, were
you Jen? And I said yeah, and we hugged and
we started talking and we talked till like three o'clock
in the morning, and then the our actual first date
was we just went to a restaurant and then after

(02:05):
the dinner, we walked on the dock where there's like
boats around it, and my heel got stuck in the
deck and I had to snap up dean dress on
and I fell and tumbled all the way down like
the dock and landed on my back with the dress
completely unsnapped. I didn't get hurt, just my ego was her.

(02:27):
I was like so embarrassed.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
So where are you at with this person right now?

Speaker 2 (02:30):
We have three daughters, we're married for twenty five years,
and I guess when he saw my dress open, he said,
you're the one for me.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
That is awesome, that's amazing. Well, listen, Jen, we appreciate
your story, and for that, we want to give you something.
You and your hobby on a date here.

Speaker 3 (02:48):
