Crazy First Date: "I Almost Gave Her Dad A Ticket!"

Lou called in with his "Crazy First Date" story and how he almost gave his date's dad a ticket at a traffic stop.

Oh little, it's Cobby and Christine.

Crazy first date, lou, Your crazy first date happened when
right right after nine to.

Speaker 1 (00:08):
Eleven, I was working in the city. I was a
cop and I was stationed outside of a military base.
It's probably about a month and a half two months
after and uh so it's a bit of a girl
that lived across the street where I was at and
we see each other every day and then finally one
day we you know, we kind of met up. We talked,
we exchanged exchanged numbers and and you know, went on

our way. We actually scheduled the date, but that following Saturday,
and this was Monday. So, uh, next day came and
I was working, so I saw it beautiful. It was
driving the wrong way in the one way, so I
pulled him over. It was an elderly guy. Uh may
you know, talked to him, make contact with him, and I,
you know, just asking why he did this. He's like,
he didn't have an answer for me. So, uh, you know,

(00:52):
I was a little snarky with him, but we I
didn't writ him a ticket and let him go. So
I show up at a date on Saturday night. You know,
I coached the house and she she greets me at
the door, and I usually like to go inside and
meet the you know, the family. So walked aside and
I met the mother. You know, I kept throwing the
cheek and whatever. As I was doing that. In my
peripheral I saw I saw a guy get up from

the kitchen table, and I know this guy, and so
finally I turned to him when we made eye contacted.
Sure enough, he first he says to me, he goes,
thank god, you didn't give me a ticket. You know,
it was a great it was. It was a great icebreaker.
And then the funny thing is, four years later that
was his opening line and our rehearsal in her it
was just a good time. And you know, three kids

since and then very happy.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
That's so sweet story.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
And I'm glad right that you didn't give him a ticket.
He just gave me.

Speaker 1 (01:44):
But I wasn't a little snarky. I wasn't a little snarky.
But he, you know, he didn't, he wouldn't ask me
why I did it, you know, being a little funny.
And you're retired now, yeah, well I changed. I'm in
a private company now, so very cool.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
