Speaker 1 (00:01):
Loving mind.

Speaker 2 (00:02):
It's Covey and Christine Crazy first dates.

Speaker 3 (00:05):
All right, This Jack Kradiville and we've got Lindsey on
the phone of the crazy first date. Lindsay tell us
about how this all started.

Speaker 4 (00:13):
Oh my god, and I'm still to this day embarrassed.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
I went on a date with this guy, oh last summer,
and just full disclosure, I already arrived to the date
completely hungover and I felt bad about that.

Speaker 4 (00:26):
And we were at a wine bar, so we're still drinking.
The thing is is this guy was so boring and
I was so buzzed that I was having a horrible time.
So I was talking the bartender and after an hour
I just left.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
I was like, I'm.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Done, nod. Doesn't the buzz like kind of help with
boring people? Or am I mistaken with that?

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Well, you'd think it would help with boring people, but
I think the only way it would have helped is
if he was like one iota interesting, But he wasn't.
So the problem was, as I told him, I was
going home to give my grandma her meds, but instead
I kind of called my uncle to meet me at
a bar down the road to eat pizza and continue
to drink more, and later that night, my uncle walked

(01:05):
me to my car, and on the walk to our car,
we walked past the guy that I left early.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Oh no, wait, did he approach you?

Speaker 3 (01:13):
Uh?

Speaker 4 (01:13):
He definitely gave me the look of recognition and then
the hard stare of weight that is you.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
But at least you had an excuse like, I'm really
into older guys, So that's why I left. But then again,
the grandma on the meds, how did you reconcile that?

Speaker 4 (01:28):
Oh? I you know, I just did the typical millennial
communication and did not you know, deal with it, disassociated
and ghosted.

Speaker 3 (01:35):
There you go, Oh that's amazing. So I guess you
never saw this guy again?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
Oh no, only in my nightmares when I'm feeling really
awkward about what I did.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I just I have to ask what did he do
for a living? I mean, what was he into? Was
he into anything?

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Well, in theory, yes, I mean he was more shabby
over the apps, but in person like, oh my god,
like for o rama like, he didn't talk to me,
he barely expressed any interest in seeing me. Now, in retrospect,
I was super hungover, so maybe I was the problem.

Speaker 2 (02:06):
But you know, I don't know anymore.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
But maybe he was nervous too. I mean a lot
of people feel more comfortable speaking you know, via tex
or whatever, you know what I mean, and then when
you're in person.

Speaker 4 (02:16):
Maybe he was just nervous.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
But I need to applaud you like hair of the Dog,
like you were hungover and you went out back drinking.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Yeah. Yeah, clearly that's the theme here, is that you
weren't going to let this guy, or anybody for that matter,
getting uh in the way.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
No, I listen.

Speaker 4 (02:31):
I come from a Scottish family. We don't wait.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Lindsey, thank you for the story. We hope that things
get a little better. And uh, you know what, I'm
going to salute you with a cocktail later on today.

Speaker 4 (02:42):

Boysober

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
