Speaker 1 (00:00):
Happy Monday one O six point seven Light FM with
Kubby and Christine in the morning we got produce a
Christen hanging out.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
And I am reaching into my bag of apple. Thank you, Christine, Niggy.
Speaker 3 (00:10):
You're welcome. Yes, thank you, you're welcome.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
Some apples from your apple picking.
Speaker 3 (00:15):
Yes, I highly recommend the crimson crisp. Those are the
very red ones and the others are honey crisp.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
So good, they're beautiful and they're cold. Them in the fridge.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
We put them in the fridge.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
Nice.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
We didn't know are because we have a lot. Eric
and I went apple picking over the weekend. If you
can't tell, yes, where was it? By the Warwick Winery. Okay,
so it's really really nice. It's a beautiful place. You
can go apple picking and you can sample wines. Oh
so it's all good. You could even get a bottle
of wine and take it out to the apple orchard.
They'll let you hang like it's it's.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Yeah, under a tree.
Speaker 3 (00:49):
It's really it's really really good. Yeah, we loved it,
so you know, but get a big bushel, you know,
the big giant bagh, so that holds like twenty two
pounds of apples.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Wow. Nice.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
Yeah, we're just a couple of people, so I wanted
to share with you. But those those were the ones
that we liked. I can bring more in for you,
But there's others you could choose, like if you're into baking,
certain ones for baking. These are just the I like
the crispy chomp on them.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
And you told me it was easy picking because it's
early in the season.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yeah, low hanging fruit, low hanging fruit, very easy. Don't
need any little gadgets or anything, just right.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Yeah, So it was a good week in apple picking
with you and Eric.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, thank you.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
And what was the highlight of your weekend, producer Christian, Well,
I'm here. My car is fixed. Yeah, that's another thing
I forgot all about that. I want to forget about
it too. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:39):
I had a crack in the windshield and we you know,
little complications, but everything's fixed. And they came on Friday
morning fixed it.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
And yeah, and you were able to drive to a movie. Yes, yes,
you told me. Your son Jagger sat through a movie.
Speaker 4 (01:53):
Yes, his very first movie, theater Experience Toy Story. They
re released the thirtieth anniversary. That's his favorite movie. So yeah,
he wants to go see Toy Story and he loved it.
He sat through the whole thing.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
That's a big deal when a kid can make it
through a whole movie, because yeah, it's it takes a while.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Yes, I know, how was your weekend?
Speaker 2 (02:10):
But oh we were good.
Speaker 1 (02:11):
We were in Pennsylvania over the weekend and we saw
some friends and we did some horseback riding.
Speaker 3 (02:17):
I love that I saw the kids up on horses.
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah, Naomi Miles did there. Well, this was Naomi's second
lesson and Miles is first. Yeah, and it was a
real lesson. They weren't just walked like walking around with
a horse. They were literally learning how to stand and
like how to make the.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Horse move, how to place their feet and say whoa.
Speaker 3 (02:33):
It was cute because I saw the instructors. She had
Miles up on the horse and she said are you
ready to go? And he said no, I don't want
to know.
Speaker 2 (02:41):
He was really nervous at first, and then he was
at the end loved it.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
Yeah, then he loved it.
Speaker 1 (02:45):
And they were on a horse named Rio twenty two
years old. Twenty two years old, very patient and he
just goes with the flow.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Oh how sweet.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
We had a great weekend.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
It's been. It was beautiful weather too, so yeah, but
here we are at it again on a Monday and
a lot to do today. We have three pretty cool
things is coming up next. We have some giveaways. We
have a big announcement involving something you can bring the
kids to. We'll do that around eight ten. It's a
busy Monday.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
On LIGHTFM, Cobby and Christine back in a moment on
one O six point seven light at them.
Speaker 2 (03:13):
Pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (03:15):
It's three pretty cool things you.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Need to know.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
I thought this was pretty cool. I actually went to
Iceland in twenty twenty but never looked this up. But
apparently the last McDonald's opened in two thousand and closed
in nine. There is no McDonald's in Iceland. That was
a fun fact.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Sorry, Iceland, I know, yeah, they're missing out.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
Yeah, they had to close in two thousand and nine
because of importing and everything, the ingredients. It became too
expensive for the franchise, so they just bailed out. But
the very last meal was bought by a person. He
bought a burger and fries and he donated it to
a museum and it's on display at the moment in
southern Iceland. And apparently it hasn't.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Changed that much.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Oh it's airtight, but it looks the same. Wow, fascinating.
Speaker 3 (04:00):
They better make sure nobody gets hungry overnight.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Right, you are hungry, Maybe you could break the glass. Yeah,
in case of emergency. Exactly what's your cool thing, Christine.
Speaker 3 (04:09):
If you're feeling a little stressed out, you know it
can happen, just carry a container of baby powder with you,
especially at work, maybe keeping in a desk drawer. It
actually helps fight stress. Researchers found that smelling baby powdered
triggers subconscious memories of being soothed and taken care of
when you were younger. So go for it.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
We need that like around the radio station.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
Yeah, and you like put on your hands and clap
like Lebron James in a game, you know, like you
get all over the place.
Speaker 4 (04:37):
This is a small room for that.
Speaker 2 (04:38):
Yeah, all right, Kristin, you're up.
Speaker 4 (04:41):
One of our favorite toys from our childhood is turning seventy.
Happy birthday to Plato. It was first introduced this week
in nineteen fifty five. Since then, more than three billion
cans of Plato have been created, and it was inducted
into the Toy Hall of fame in nineteen ninety eight.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
I think that's another soothing smell nostalgia.
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Oh yes, Light FM.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
More Cubby and Christine and a great music variety. You
expect next on light.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
FM middle of the month Kubby and Christine on this Monday,
September fifteenth, Kubby Christine. Producer Kristin Well, one of us
in the room has a strike. Oh boy, Survivor pool.
We're doing the NFL Survivor Pool week number two and
uh but we're doing strikes.
Speaker 3 (05:31):
As I mentioned, three strikes and you're out right yes.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
So do we have to explain the rules every time
we talk about it? Producer Christen No tuning in for
the first time. Okay, I don't know what to do.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
Well, it's it's a game where you you pick one
football team a week a week and if your team wins,
then great, congratulations, you move on to the next week.
If your team loses, you normally you are out of
the pool. But we are playing with three strikes and
uh yeah, one of us in the room has a strike.
Speaker 3 (05:59):
Well. The keith is that if your team wins, you
can't pick them again. That's right going forward, So you
have to choose wisely.
Speaker 4 (06:07):
Even if they lose, you can't pick them again. You
can't pick them again.
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Period. Oh okay, yeah, even if they win, you're done
with that team. Yes, So here we go.
Speaker 1 (06:15):
We'll use this week as an example what happened over
the weekend. So I picked the Bengals over the Jaguars,
and the Bengals won thirty one to twenty seven.
Speaker 4 (06:24):
Yeah, congratulations.
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Now we come to Christine, who picked the Bears over
the Lions, and the Bears were crushed fifty two to
twenty one.
Speaker 3 (06:37):
To use crushed.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
Well, but it's only one strike. Yeah. If this was
the regular Survivor pool, you'd be done for the year.
They'd be all over.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
And producer Kristen picked the Cardinals over the Panthers, and
the Cardinals won twenty seven two.
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yes, tight, All right, Yeah, so we're down to two
more strikes for you, Christine.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
I have my first strike.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
But you know, we were all kind of giving you, well,
we were ribbing you a little bit because that was
a tough pick.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
I know you guys didn't want me to choose the Bears.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
That's the whole thing. Though we could be upsets.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
I thought I had to take a risk at some
point maybe I took a risk too early.
Speaker 4 (07:10):
Yeah, well that's that's an interesting risk. Yeah, just because
the Bears don't have a don't have a great record, Christine,
but we tried, I said, are you sure?
Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yeah, you did try?
Speaker 4 (07:19):
Are you sure?
Speaker 2 (07:20):
You were like yes, okay, But you know what things
can turn around in a heartbeat.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
You know, we could lose the next two weeks and
me and Kristen have an two strikes and you can
still have one.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
Well, look at the Chiefs.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
Look at the Chiefs for instance. You would think you
would pick them, great team. They're zero and two.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
They haven't won a game yet, so that's true. Anything
can happen that could be a strike, and we still
have the seene Taylor's outfit.
Speaker 1 (07:42):
Wow, by the way, Yeah, some people are kind of
upset about what Taylor did over the weekend.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Well, yeah, I wanted to see what she was wearing.
Did you guys notice did they show her in the
stands or anything.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
I don't think they showed her at all.
Speaker 2 (07:56):
No, So she was there.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
She showed up at the Chiefs game, but instead of
looking in like she normally does, we're all the paparazzis
around her and people are picking apart how beautiful her
outfit is.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
She always hays pretty outfit.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
Yeah, well she was shielded on her way into Arrowhead Stadium.
Basically a moving wall just followed her.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
So we didn't get to see what Taylor. So ultimately
that's one I'm most upset about regarding football this weekend.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
You couldn't get Taylor's outfit.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
Yeah, well, I will say this, pick the Chiefs next week.
I'll end it with that. If you really want to
surefire win.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
Pick the Chiefs.
Speaker 3 (08:33):
But then I use them up. I can't use them.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
The rest's true, but you have a strike, so I
would pull out the big guns.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
The Chiefs are taken on the New York Giants this weekend,
and there's no way.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
There's no way the Chiefs will be zero and three
and and and they're there. That's a possibility. I don't
think they're going to lose against the Giants this weekend.
So I just my tip survivor pol and full of fact.
Speaker 5 (09:01):
More Cubby and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on Light at Them.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
I love this headline right here, and you can add
some more color to it, Christine. But man ruins his
girlfriend's marathon moment by eating her snacks, sparking viral anger online.
Speaker 3 (09:16):
Yes, unreal, the video has gone viral, hasn't it. We
actually have this happening because she yells at him, you
had one job? How many times have we said this
one in life? So Katie is the woman's name. She
is running a marathon. She's yelling at her boyfriend middle
of the race because he is supposed to hand off
(09:37):
snacks to her during the run. But what did he do?
He ate them. So as she's going past him and
she's looking for his snacks, he's going, I don't have any,
you know, And she's saying, what what's left? You had
one job? And he said, I I know. I think
he just kind of takes the hit there. Experts are
(10:00):
pointing out that with marathons, these snacks are really important.
People rely on them to keep them going. Their special
like protein and electrolyte snacks that she had chosen ahead
of time.
Speaker 2 (10:11):
She'd probably been thinking about it.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
It was strategic to get through the rate. And he's like,
uh hi, honey and chomping way and the snacks are gone.
Speaker 1 (10:21):
I mean a lot of the comments are pretty bad too,
like he clearly doesn't care about her.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
It's it's and he kind of laughs too in the video.
We have the video.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
I was gonna play the audio, so you really can't
because she says a few like dirty words right before it.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Yeah, I don't blame her, but I yeah, exactly, she's
not going to censor herself right there.
Speaker 4 (10:40):
I just I don't understand how dumb you can be.
And I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt.
Is maybe he got hungry and he went, Okay, she's
got enough snacks, I can have one or two, and
then maybe looked in the bag and went, oh, oh yeah,
high at them all.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
Or couldn't control himself. I mean, I mean, come on,
we run into some issues at home. Do you guys
do this at home? I get pretzels are my go
to snack, right, but I'll only eat a few pretzels.
Something happens overnight when I'm asleep and Eric's watching TV
and the bag of pretzels are pretty much gone. No,
but he leaves me like two or three little broken
(11:17):
ones on the bottom, like I didn't eat them all?
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Right? See, did you think about this though? About this guy?
He was filming the whole thing uh huh. So he
must have known, like, why would you film if you
knew you were gonna be in the doghouse?
Speaker 3 (11:31):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
He must have known the reaction would go viral, or
or just taken a chance.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
He just couldn't control himself once he started. Kristen said,
maybe he miscalculated. I have no idea, I don't know.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Or maybe he was just filming her running, you know,
documenting her her journey without food.
Speaker 3 (11:49):
Right, you're doing a great hunt.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
Keep good luck to this guy. We'll see what happens here.
Speaker 5 (11:56):
More Covey and Christine and the Great Music Variety. You
expect sunlight at them.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
Cubby Christine, producer Christian Middle of the month, September fifteenth,
let's talk about Christmas.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
Yeah, it's time. You have to be prepared. It's time
to start shopping because we already have the twenty twenty
five hot toys list.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
Now, Kristin already started shopping.
Speaker 4 (12:17):
I did, I already started this weekend.
Speaker 1 (12:21):
Well Well then I'm kind of jealous actually, because I'm
so We're always behind.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Actually, yeah, my son loves spider Man and so okay.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
A s slime in the title. My wife and I
and I'm gonna tell Saana not to get it either.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
Looks it looks like it's fun. You get a bunch
of slimes and then you can mix in charms and
beads and sparkles and stretch it out, make more slime
and play with it again.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
What's the full title?
Speaker 3 (13:24):
G u y g u y? Is that juju scented slime?

Speaker 2 (14:44):
This is where you keep like an animal alive, like
a fake animal.
Speaker 4 (14:46):
Yeah, it never worked right, It was digital like an egg.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
You had to hit certain things at certain times and
feed it.
Speaker 4 (14:53):

Speaker 3 (14:56):

all the kinetic sand stuff, which is great.
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Yeah. I love it.
Speaker 4 (15:48):
At first, I wasn't sure about it because I was
like cost sand. I hate sand, But it's intact. It
doesn't it's not messy, better than slime, and the magnetiles
are a big.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
Hit with the kids.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Okay, so that's if it's all magnetized, then you're good.

Speaker 3 (18:34):
Things classic alca Celter commercial there and the regret that
comes afterwards. Yeah, this is just people being honest and
saying the most outrageous thing they've ever eaten in one sitting. Now,
here's what some people confess to a pint of ice cream.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
We've all done that.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
A whole pizza. I can't pull that off. I don't
know about you, guys. No, okay, a whole bucket of
popcorn and a block of cheese.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
I've done a whole thing of pizza.
Speaker 3 (19:02):
You've done a whole pizza.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
The real thin crust, like the super super thin. It's
like eating I.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
Don't know, like not even like a personal pie, like
a regular a regular.
Speaker 4 (19:12):
Yes, okay, that's wow, that's impressive.
Speaker 3 (19:14):
That's impressive. But yeah, I mean, if you want to
share the no judgment, of course, we just think this
is fun. Four four three six three.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
How about you? What have you eaten in a whole city?
Speaker 3 (19:25):
That sounds so lame? Grapes like the whole you know,
what do they call that? A bunch of grapes? A
whole bunch, like a bag of grapes, like they were
like really good? Hell is sugar ish. There's a lot
of sugar in there, which adds to carbs, which, yeah,
(19:46):
wasn't a good.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
Probably a whole bag of reeses or something like that.
I'm sure I've sat. Yeah, you know, I hate that.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
But well that was by choice, like I've done ice
cream by choice, pizza by choice.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
My claim to fame is wait, are you.
Speaker 3 (19:57):
Going to try and talk your way out of this one?
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Well it was delici. I will tell you that my
claim to fame. I've told you this before. One time
my wife had some food in the fridge and she
told me before she left me lunch in the fridge.
I can't remember it if she told me what to
look for, but out of habit, I went to the
certain part of the fridge I normally have food in
and it was ground beef and it was quite tasty,
(20:19):
and it had been a pound at least a pound
of ground beef. And then Coco, my wife goes, so
did you eat the lunch? I said, yes, I ate
all that meat. She's like, you ate no, that meat
is for lasagna.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
I make it later.
Speaker 1 (20:34):
I ate a whole pound of ground beef that was
really in position for going into lasagna.
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Yeah, and I crushed it.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
You thought your lunch was a pound of ground beef, Yes,
and you ate it all.
Speaker 2 (20:49):
It actually had flavor. It wasn't bland.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
It was in the fridge in a clear bowl, and
it had saran wrap on it.
Speaker 2 (20:57):
And I took it off, I put it in the microwave.
Get it out.
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
Yeah, I really thought that's what your wife left you,
just meat.
Speaker 3 (21:07):
Just I can't believe I ain't that whole thing.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
We need directions, right, we need post it notes on everything.
Speaker 3 (21:18):
Apparently, then this sandwich wasn't obvious. It wasn't screaming eat meat.
This is lunch.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
You eat a pound of food, a pound of meat.
Speaker 3 (21:25):
That was meant for dinner.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
But again, it had some flavoring in it. It was
It wasn't just, it wasn't bland.
Speaker 3 (21:30):
It was because she was preparing it.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
It was pretty good. I just kept going and going
and going. I remember thinking to.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
Myself, this is a lot of food, Like she must
have really thought I was hungry.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
But I'll eat it. I'll finish it, okay, if I
have to.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Zuck it for you tonight. So four four three, six three.
I love the messages we're getting so far.
Speaker 2 (21:51):
What are people saying?
Speaker 3 (21:52):
Six four six I've eaten an attired cheesecake in a
single sitting before, and then says, but I was depressed.
I'm sorry. Let's see nine one four says mine is
a whole eight pack of hot talks.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Wow, eight pack of hot talks.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
Here you go, Covey seventy three to two fourteen slices
of regular pizza, not thin crust. Okay, all right, that
out does your peace.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
That does me a lot. But yeah, by the way,
the Ben and Jerry's ice cream, isn't.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
That a pint?
Speaker 3 (22:20):
Usually? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (22:22):
If ever I'm digging into that, I always get halfway down,
and then I come to the decision should I just
keep going?
Speaker 4 (22:28):
Like?
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Why should I?
Speaker 2 (22:29):
You ever do that?
Speaker 3 (22:30):
You're already there there at freezer Burn exact.
Speaker 5 (22:32):

Apparently we have to get off the couch at some point.
It's just not good for us people who switched to
(24:55):
walking around or sleeping even instead of sitting and just
watch on TV or whatever it is you're doing when
you're sitting. It makes a big difference that light exercise
can include walking from room to room. So if you're
standing in you're cooking, standing and talking on the phone,
that actually counts. They say anything, any kind of movement
(25:16):
is better than just sitting on the couch all day.
Another example going to bed a little earlier instead of
staying up late and watching TV. Being asleep means you're
not able to snack.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
There you go. Should we do a quick walk around
the hall here? I think it moving? Guys, Yeah, I
guess it's moving.
Speaker 5 (25:33):

one sitting.
Speaker 3 (25:52):
I can't believe I ate the whole thing. Yes, it
really is hard to top your pound of chopped meat.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
And that was by accident. But I did enjoy it. Yeah,
it was quite delicious.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
It meant for lasagna at dinner.
Speaker 1 (26:04):
But I have you know what, There have been a
few Ben and Jerry pints I've finished on my own.
Speaker 2 (26:09):
Yes, people were texting about that four.

Four three sixty three. We're getting a lot of those
three four seven pine of hogan'das coffee ice cream. Way
to go. Yep, definitely for the coffee. But I see
white castles mighty popular with downing quite a few five
one six. You may hold a record for US thirty
six white Castle cheeseburgers, four sacks of fries, two cokes.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Did Joey chestnut text in the heck close?
Speaker 3 (26:37):
Here's the Joey chestnut seven three to two. My friend
was in a white Castle burger eating contest. He ate
fifty two burgers and he's still lost.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Oh my goodness, fifty two?
Speaker 1 (26:47):
What is your white Castle cut off? I usually I
can't do any more than five.
Speaker 3 (26:52):
Usually I think I could do well.
Speaker 2 (26:55):
I remember I would always get the four pack four
and I would always want one more, still hungry, and
go back and get one more. That's what I always do.
It's been a while since.
Speaker 3 (27:02):

New York sized pizzas. Those are giant slices and seven
three too. Can't buy a bag of potato chips unless
people are coming over, otherwise I'll eat it all at once.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
I know it's hard.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
You don't know when to stop with potato chips, just
kind of keep going and going.
Speaker 3 (27:31):
And they have to like dole a few out and
then put the bag.
Speaker 2 (27:33):
Away, right.
Speaker 4 (27:35):
Well, half the bag is full of air anyway, So
there's that really, not eating the whole bag of chips.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
And I mentioned earlier on the show how you brought
in apples by the way you went, Christine went apple
picking you and Eric and thank you for that. You're welcome,
And apparently producer Kristen was going to bring something in today.
Speaker 2 (27:50):

Speaker 4 (27:52):

on Friday, and there were lots of cookies and not
everyone took them, so he said bring them home. I said, okay,
I'll take them to work. So I brought them home
and they were gone.
Speaker 3 (28:04):
Guess who ate them?
Speaker 4 (28:05):
Not my kids?
Speaker 3 (28:06):
Who?
Speaker 4 (28:07):
Oh my loving husbands.
