Speaker 1 (00:00):
One to six point seven Light FM with Cobby and

(00:02):
Christine in the morning produced to Christen joining us. It
is Monday, December first, so we'll be together this week guys,
and then you go away Christine next week your Germany trip.
Then you're back after that. Then we have a few
more days then boom, it's done. Gosh, I can't believe it.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I know December every year we feel like this, How
did this happen?

Speaker 1 (00:22):
The older you get, the faster it goes right. Oh
my gosh. We had a great Thanksgiving weekend. We left
on Tuesday. Was it Tuesday? No? Okay, so we had
off Wednesday, didn't we Lenesday? That's right, we left. Thank
you for keeping track of my schedule because we didn't
do a show on Wednesday. But I slept in on Wednesday,
and then we went to the airport and I got

(00:43):
to tell you, no trouble at all at the airport,
so great. The family and I boarded a plane to Orlando,
headed to Disney World, and the flight was on time.
TSA was easy. Somebody there we ever heard talking? They
think that people stagger thanks Giving week. It's Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
A little bit each day and therefore it leaves everything.

(01:05):
And then we flew back on Saturday, which I think
helped no issues to fifteen flight took off at two fifteen,
supposed to land at for thirty five, landed at four
thirty five. So I mean, it was just a great trip.
We went to Disney World.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
Saw the pictures. I loved it.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
That was just on Friday, Thank you, and Cocoa Miles
had a blast, and we bought some lightning you know.
Producer Christen said, buy some lightning passes. Yeah, because some
of the rides can be lengthy as far as a
weight goes. But the thing about it is when you
buy a lightning pass, you don't know if you're going
to be walking into a crazy crowded park or not.
And we went Friday after Thanksgiving and the park was

(01:42):
not too bad. So we would go up to the
rides that we bought a lightning pass for to go
faster in line, but the line was only five minutes anyway.
Oh okay, so you know, but better safe than sorry.
We needed it for one of them, like Pirates of
the Caribbean was a little lengthy. Oh yeah, so we
had a lightning pass for that.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
That's a classic, that one in the Haunted Mansion. I
just love.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
Yeah, we didn't do the Haunted Mansion. I wanted to.
We didn't have time. We'd only did it one day.
But if we did two days, probably at the park,
we would have done. Yeah. But look you what was
the highlight of your time already?

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Again?

Speaker 1 (02:15):
Well, seriously, you saw amazing Broadway show? Yes that included
something else pretty amazing, Yes it did.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
So I went to see A Christmas Carol with Michael Servis,
is one of my favorite Broadway actors. He's incredible in this,
he's Scrooge. It's at the Proman Performing Arts Center, which
is pack NYC, which is downtown near the World Trade Center.
So I wasn't even aware of this building, this beautiful
building that's like just for the arts. You go in,

(02:41):
they have an incredible restaurant metropolis, and then there's like
a little like kind of loungy music, and then you
go up to the theater and this was such a
beautiful production of a Christmas Carol. This is like the
whole family can go. It's immersive. It's updated, but not
so much where you're like, oh no, it's like updated

(03:02):
in a good way. Like you just just all good things.
But to prove my point that it's a good one
for the whole family, the family sitting behind me was
a former president with his entire family. So it was
President Bill Clinton with Hillary Clinton, my goodness, Chelsea, their daughter,
their son in law, and their two grandkids.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
That is very cool. Look, regardless of your political affiliation,
to be that close to a former president. I think
it's pretty cool. I've never I've never been a president
talked to a former president.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
It was incredible and they were very very kind. Yeah
I did.

Speaker 1 (03:39):
And they were like just chilling, kicking, yes, talking about
loving my show.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
They love the show. I was like, well, that's Michael Servis.
That's one of my favorite actors. Because Clinton was saying
how much he loved Scrooge and he's like you can
see like every time his heart opens up just a
little bit more. And I'm like, yeah, he's like this
is such a great shoud I. You know. Then I
started like paying attention a little bit, like oh, there
must be secret service. And they weren't like scary, like

(04:05):
trying to intimidate us. They're in the theater. They were friendly.
I think the Clinton's were open to meeting people, so
they were staying friendly but protective. But there was one
point during the show whereas like I wanted my chapstick
really really bad, and I'm sitting on the aisle, so
I'm sitting directly in front of President Clinton, right, I'm
making sure like my hood is not in his lap,

(04:26):
by the way, like just trying to, you know, keep
to myself. But I wanted my chapstick, and I was
afraid to like go digging in my bag because I
didn't want Secret Service to think I was up to anything,
like yeah, it's harmless. I mean you no harm It's
just I have chaplets. That's all it is.

Speaker 1 (04:45):
But you never did it.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
I sort of I couldn't take it anymore. I like
really needed it, so I did, but I felt like
I lifted it out like see chamestick.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
But the things you were thinking about, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
But nobody respond like it was anything that this show.
I mean, for Cuby, for you, and for Kristen. If
you can go with your kids, it's really wonderful. They
get the kids involved.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
It's great.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
All right, sounds like we all had a very very
busy weekend. We're coming right back with more busy things
to do. Should be talking about? Oh you know what?
Real quick before we go to break seven twenty five,
we kick off our twelve Days at Christmas on LIGHTFM.
Did you see all the gifts were giving away at
seven twenty five?

Speaker 2 (05:24):
WHOA do you see that?

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Yes, somebody's gonna win all these at seven twenty five.
Apple AirPods, a Delongey Comby all in one coffee espresso machine,
one hundred dollars worth of New Jersey scratch off tickets,
four tickets to the Holiday Train Show at New York
Potanical Garden, one hundred dollars gift card courtesy of Ridgewood
Savings Bank, a Sports Illustrated subscription that's amazing. A pair
of tickets to see Stranger Things, the First Shadow on Broadway.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
That's so good.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
This is all at seven twenty five. So it's winning
all that?

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Wow?

Speaker 1 (05:52):
All right? And there's more where that came from coming
up next on LIGHTFM.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on them.

Speaker 1 (06:01):
Okay, I need to tell you two things. Coby and Christine's.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Two pretty cool things.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
Hey, Christine, My cool thing involves a giveaway, and I
want to kind of, you know, end the whole thing
with that.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
Yes, so that's a good idea.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
In that case, you go first and then I'll end
it with a big bang.

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Here I go, then you go. All right, so I'm
gonna go to AMC movie theaters. I went to see
Wicked over the weekend and loved it and just love
the experience of going to the theater. Needed popcorn of course,
right well, today for Cyber Monday, AMC is rolling out
a new popcorn pass. Let Stubbs members score half price

(06:39):
large popcorn every day. You could go every day and
get this through the end of twenty twenty six. WHOA,
just have to buy your pass today. It's twenty nine
to ninety nine.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
That's awesome, man, Yeah, cool, all right. How about unwrapping
the holiday season with Paris Spaghett caller ten right now
one one hundred and two two two one oh six
seven and you win a one hundred dollars gift car
for all of your handcrafted holiday cake needs. How about that?

Speaker 2 (07:04):
That's beautiful? Yes, I love that place, all right?

Speaker 1 (07:07):
Call or ten right now? Good luck for MIGHTFM.

Speaker 3 (07:09):
More Covey and Christine and the Great music variety you expect.
Next on light at.

Speaker 1 (07:14):
That six Boy seven LIGHTFM with Cubby and Christine in
the morning, produce a Christen hanging out with us Monday,
December first, Yes, Christmas is coming up on what twenty
four days? Your birthday, my ladies? Yes, Christine, December twenty six,
And of course, produce a Christen on the twenty ninth.
And guess what what? Apparently from the article you're about

(07:36):
to tell us, I can give you something and not
have to wrap it. No, yeah, here you go, very
Christmas birthday.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
I'm gonna double down on this one is just.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Skip the wrapping. No one's rapping anymore.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
That's not true. So one in six adults say they
don't care about receiving gifts that are unwrapped. They're totally
fine with it. I am not the one in six
at all. I love the wrapping. Don't you love opening presents?

Speaker 1 (08:04):
I do. I just hate rapping. Oh that's right, I
can't wrap.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Well, yeah, that's okay. You do the best you can. Yeah,
and then you get the you know, another way to
go is to get the pretty gift bags. But I
truly truly love wrapping. But this is very important for
all of the December January babies. Don't put our birthday
presents in Christmas wrap.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Any candy canes or anything that has Christmas on it.

Speaker 2 (08:29):
We need. It's not right birthday wrap. It is our birthday.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
You want happy birthday?

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Yes, right, and then we want Christmas.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
I never thought of that. By the way, that's probably
very easy for someone to do, you know, if they're
wrapping all the Christmas gifts and say, like your birthday,
Christine's the day after Christmas?

Speaker 2 (08:45):
Yeah, right, now, got this leftover piece. It's lucky she's
getting a separate gift.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
Everybody has a leftover piece. No, but I never thought
of that. Yeah, so sure you have the right wrapping.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Too, all right. So it may be trending for some
people not to do the gift wrapping thing. I'm not
one of those people. You can weigh in on this.
Are you with us? Do you not want to see
gift wrapping go away? Four four three sixty three? I
think it's very important.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Yeah, what do you think if someone just says, here,
Merry Christmas, here's your gifts.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
You know, too much trouble to wrap?

Speaker 1 (09:14):
All right? Give us your thoughts at four four three
six three.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
Next on Light at.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Them one to six point seven, Light at Them, Good Morning.
It's Christine along with Cubby and producer Kristen. And in
case you haven't noticed, it's Cyber Monday.

Speaker 1 (09:30):
Oh my emails told me that.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
Oh and text alerts. I got them all. They're all
coming in. So I found last night Covey. I was
looking at some stuff. Put it in the cart because
I want to give myself time to think about it,
because I did I Black fridayed Out like I did
so much shopping on Blackfried Out. Black Friday Out like
it physically in the stores and online.

Speaker 1 (09:54):
Right.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
So now there's like a couple of products that I want,
Like I actually need some coffee, some hair products. The
problem is with the Cyber Monday deal is I can't
just order the one thing because then I don't get
my twenty five percent off and free shipping.

Speaker 1 (10:09):
If I want.

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Yes, it's either you know, going to be seventy five
dollars or one hundred dollars whatever it is to achieve
the discount, Yes, sir, And this is.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
This who's really winning in that situation?

Speaker 2 (10:22):
I don't know. My brain hurts because I'm trying to
do the math. I'm like, okay, so there's like one
hair products I want, right, it's thirty seven dollars. All right,
I will get twenty five percent off and free shipping
if I spend sixty five dollars.

Speaker 1 (10:37):
So you're looking to add one more thing or two
more things in the.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Car kind of like nothing else that I need from there?
But now want you buy.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
What do you need? Like, like the one thing you
do need? Can you buy two or three of those?

Speaker 3 (10:49):
No?

Speaker 2 (10:49):
Because that the one thing I need could last like
over a year.

Speaker 1 (10:52):
Well, then you're good for three years by now if
you're going to use it eventually?

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Who knows though, Like no, it's too much time it's
going to go buy. So it's like it even suggests
like how about this, Like all of these sites will
suggest like a product like here, toss this baby in
and you'll you'll make the grade. So this is what
I'm weighing with, Right.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
I applaud you for not being so quick to just
buy it. You're really thinking, I'm trying who's gonna win here?
Am I really getting a deal or are they? Ultimately?

Speaker 2 (11:21):
I think they're ultimately winning. I think so because I'm
over buying. Because, like I said, if I hadn't done
this on Friday, maybe I wouldn't go as crazy about
it today. But I'm already like, okay, okay, I already
bought a lot of stuff. You know, this stuff I'm
going to use. Is this stuff that I can gift
to my friends. This is getting a little bit out
of control.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
Well, there you go. Gifts. Yeah, they could be gifts
right something, depending on what you want.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
I know some of them like don't stand alone as
a gift though.

Speaker 1 (11:48):
All right, Well, what would you do if you're a
Christine four four three six.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
Three overspend to get the discount or just get the
one product you want right Cyber Monday.

Speaker 1 (11:58):
You'll be spending thirty seven bucks, but you will not get.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
A discount and I'll pay for shipping.

Speaker 1 (12:03):
Or you go to sixty five five.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Five free shipping and get a product that they don't
really want to need.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
I'm on the edge of my seat, man.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
You know, life is hard.

Speaker 1 (12:13):
Hey, you're not alone. Those seventy four million people expected
to shop online today for Cyber Monday, and you're one
of those seventy.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Four million more Covey and Christine and the great music
variety you expect. Next onlight a f Them.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
New York's Christmas Station one h six pointy seven seven
oh seven, Cubby and Christine in the morning producer Christen
hanging out with us too, and do you want to
buy the perfect gift? Every single time? There are four
questions apparently, right, Christine, you can ask yourself to help
streamline your holiday shopping.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
When you're out there shopping, Cobby, when you're in the stores.
Me right now, you personally you have this is what
you need to think about when you're considering a gift.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
All right, I'm looking I'm in TJ Max, I'm looking around.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
You're like, what did we last talk about? Because people
are always dropping ideas. If the person was saying, my
commute's really tough, it's wearing me out. Maybe you can
get an app store gift card. Oh, they can download
an app for like audiobook subscription or something, you know,
if they're driving.

Speaker 1 (13:13):
Or it involves us men listening, it does pay attention
to the hents.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
Or if if she Coco maybe signed up for yoga class.
You could look around for a mat and some gear
and things like that for her.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
Buy a mattay you go along with what she's into.

Speaker 2 (13:28):
Another question, does it tie into a personal experience? You
know what's better than a gift card? One to a
restaurant that you've been to together. Nostalgia? Yeah, people like nostalgia.

Speaker 1 (13:38):
Remember we used to come here all the time.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Yes, here you go back in the day.

Speaker 1 (13:42):
Huh.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
Yep, you could do something like that. Say what does
he or she do regularly? Like it's it's do they
have a favorite coffee brew that they have every morning?
Do they hike? Do they have dogs? Do they write
lists for them? So, then that will give you some ideas, right,

(14:05):
or like you know, maybe special coffee maker or special coffees,
or some hiking gear or something that you know is
good for walking the dogs.

Speaker 1 (14:14):
So so far we've got What did you talk about last?
That's a question you ask yourself before you buy the gift.
Can you tie in a personal experience? Yes? And what
does he or she do regularly? Yes? What's the fourth
thing we should really pay attention to?

Speaker 2 (14:27):
What is the purpose of this gift? If you can't
answer the question, you must keep shopping, move on, pass,
go to the next Ultimately gifts right should be a
reflection of how well you know the needs of the
person you're buying them for. You don't just buy stuff
for the sake of buying stuff.

Speaker 1 (14:42):
Yeah, because sometimes you feel like you just want to
check off the box. Yeah, and just be done with it.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
I know, and like though this is pretty, but yeah,
you want them to really be able to use it.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Well.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
Speaking of gifts, are twelve days of Christmas on Light FM.
We have incredible gifts for you. We're going to do
that in about fifteen minutes. Your chance to play some
trivia with us. And did you see the prizes we
have somebody, one person, Christine is going to win all
these Apple AirPods, a DeLong e Comby all in one
coffee espresso machine. You get the new Jersey Lottery scratch
off tickets one hundred dollars worth. I mean, there's a

(15:12):
whole bunch more here, a Sports Illustrated subscription, how about that?
A pair of tickets to see Stranger Things the First
Shadow on Broadway Botanical Gardens. We're gonna get more into
this when we actually do this solicit here, but it's
an incredible it's a big price, yes, and we'll do
that in fifteen minutes right here on light.

you expect next on light.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
Three hours is the answer, right, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (17:46):

now I'm sorry, Philip. It's okay. We'll come back.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Howard with a two to one lead. You can win it, though,
if you get this right, here we go, Howard, which
Jonas brother is the oldest? A Joe, B, Kevin or C. Nick.

Speaker 2 (18:04):
I would go with Kevin, Kevin Kevin.

Speaker 1 (18:10):

number three for Philip, it doesn't matter. He already missed one. Yes,
Howard's our winner, Philip. We have to let you go.
I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
I'm sorry, Philip, but good job.

Speaker 3 (18:21):

I'm on the job and I'm not gonna feel guilty
about it.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
Been doing it since five thirty am.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Yep, there's a lot of stuff in a lot of carts.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
And I've been out of it for like four weeks,
a should we protect it? And again I said this
last hour, you've been on the edge. Man, You've had
two strikes for multiple weeks. Now live on the edge
and produce a Christian with now yep, looking good, looking good?
All right.

Speaker 2 (21:41):
So the one thing that can make your relationship better,
according to the experts, is listen always comes back more.
Being a careful listener will help you get along better
with everyone, from your best friend to your boss. People
often zone out during conversations because they're waiting for you
sickly stop talking because they're planning what they're going to

(22:02):
say next, So this can send the signal that you
don't care. So, according to David D. Burns, who wrote
Feeling Good Together, use this trick. Imagine you're going to
have to repeat what the other person is saying back
to you. This will help you focus on their words,
not your own thoughts.

Speaker 1 (22:19):
Oh good little life hack there.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
And can I just have like one little other quick
study that was done.

Speaker 1 (22:23):
Go ahead, I'm listening.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Our cats talk more to their male caretakers than their
female caretakers.

Speaker 1 (22:33):
Oh that's funny.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
There was a study done and it showed that when
the guys come home, the cats will talk an average
of four point three meals more than they do with
the female caregivers. And the thinking is, like the female caregivers,
we tend to talk to our cats more and understand
what they want a little quicker. But the cats know

(22:55):
they have to work on you, cubby a little harder.

Speaker 1 (22:57):
It's funny because my wife does all the cat feeding,
so they're always around her. They know what's going to
happen when they hear the plates kind of click together.
But I have noticed if I'm around they are a
little more vocal, like, hey, do what mommy does, Like.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
You can get up and get some food too.

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Yeah. Interesting,

Are You A Charlotte?

Are You A Charlotte?

In 1997, actress Kristin Davis’ life was forever changed when she took on the role of Charlotte York in Sex and the City. As we watched Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte navigate relationships in NYC, the show helped push once unacceptable conversation topics out of the shadows and altered the narrative around women and sex. We all saw ourselves in them as they searched for fulfillment in life, sex and friendships. Now, Kristin Davis wants to connect with you, the fans, and share untold stories and all the behind the scenes. Together, with Kristin and special guests, what will begin with Sex and the City will evolve into talks about themes that are still so relevant today. "Are you a Charlotte?" is much more than just rewatching this beloved show, it brings the past and the present together as we talk with heart, humor and of course some optimism.
