Speaker 1 (00:00):
One of six point seven light of them. Good morning,
it's Friday. We did it, Cubby, Christine, producer Kristin and
coming up at five o'clock today, it's a big day.
We flipp to All Christmas. It's twenty four to seven
Christmas music in about eleven hours. Christine and this is
our annual edition. You and I are on stage at
Radio City Music Hall. We flipped that big switch. Yes,
and we flipped to All Christmas and it's another fun
(00:22):
filled day ahead.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah. It always feels like such an honor to be
on stage for a moment at Radio City Music Hall,
which is just so iconic.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
You know.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
We walk off that stage and we're like, what just happened?
I know, I mean, it is so cool.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
It's incredible. Are you going to dance today? What have
you planned?
Speaker 1 (00:38):
People like, they keep asking for it, and I think
they're doing it just.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
I think I think the public demands it, but I.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Don't think they're being nice about it. I think they're
doing it really just to make me dig a bigger hole.
Speaker 2 (00:48):
So we have a lot to post, so we have memes.
I will be dancing did right.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
For those that don't know, there's a big switch right
on stage, and me and Chris go out on stage
and we say hi to the audience, and a lot
of people are from out of town, so keep that
in mind.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
They're kind.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
But we say, we're in New York radio station and
we're about to flip this switch. And when we flip
this switch, we're gonna go all Christmas on our radio station.
And then we flip this big switch and it's but
then there's like ten seconds where you and I don't
know what to do. Just the switch is up. Yeah,
the music's.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
On, and then the rockets are posing.
Speaker 1 (01:26):
The rockets are posing, but they look beautiful. Nothing is
going on for like ten seconds, so you need to
fill So I have like this anxiety, like I have
to fill time. So I just started dancing for like
every year we've done it, yes, and now it's getting
kind of like people.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Are ready for it, I suppose. But I've never seen
ever in all all the years I've been doing and
going to a theater somebody have the curtains closed on them,
like Radio City. Actually, if they had a big hook
that they could pull you off the stage, would have done.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
They Last year they closed it the curtains. I couldn't
believe it.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
On your dancing, Like Okay, I.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
Was like, that's probably why I don't want to do
it this year. That's then the shouldn't have brought that
up anyway. Okay, Well, I'm still trying to recover. I'm
just glad. Look we're gonna be together all day long. Yeah,
and I know you're very happy that you don't have
to be home. Oh, because they're still doing the roofing
on your building.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
This has been over two weeks now. Yeah, of drilling
and on the roof, and thank you. And I know
it's dangerous and I appreciate a new roof, but wow,
is it taking a long time Because it's a it's
a town home, so we're attached to others, so they
must be doing it in stages like today we do
this part, and then we do and and so they're
not done at two and a half weeks later, they're
(02:40):
not done.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
But when you get home, you hear noise every day yep,
and you say sometimes you feel like a guy is
gonna fall.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Into your living room join me in the room, Like, Hi.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
Are there any fiddlers on the roof.
Speaker 2 (02:50):
That's there are not? Okay, that would.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Be Kristen Game, Me and I roll Dad Jokes are
here all right, speaking to Christmas. We have two of
the rockets. We can't get them all in here. We
have two of the rockets. They got up early for us,
and we're gonna talk to them just after seven o'clock
and kind of set the tone for what's gonna happen
later tonight. So hang on for them just after seven
(03:13):
light of m.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
More music and Markcubby and Christine coming up one o
six point seven light f M.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
Okay, I need to tell you two things.
Speaker 4 (03:23):
Cobbe and Christine's two pretty cool things.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
Or I've been seeing promos about the twenty twenty six
Olympics kicking off in February. Wow, yes, and I found
this former Olympic sport cool thing. It doesn't happen anymore,
but I'm curious, Christine, would you have watched this Between
nineteen twelve and nineteen forty eight they had competitive art.
It used to be an Olympic sport and they gave
up medals for music, painting, sculpture and architecture. Really sounds cool,
(03:52):
but it does to be boring, like watching somebody paint.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
Yeah, no, not to me.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
I guess not.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I like Bob ross back.
Speaker 2 (04:00):
I'm okay with it.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
But competitive art used to be an Olympic sport between
nineteen twelve and nineteen forty eight. What's your cool thing, Christine?
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Well, I'm looking through twenty twenty six as well, Kubby,
because it's time to start shopping right for the holidays. Yeah.
Amazon is one of the places that's saying, don't worry
if you have to return an item from now through
the holidays. They're going to extend the window for returns
to January thirty, first of twenty twenty six.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
All right, you still have to be on it, though.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
We got to be on it because quick comes up fast,
especially if you don't see people right away. But they
said there's a few fine print exceptions like Apple products
have to go back ok before January fifteenth, but also
best Buy, Macy's, Target, Walmart, they're all doing the extended
holiday return windows.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
All right. When I think January, I think of all
the commercials we're going to see on TV. You're going
to see tax commercials, Get your taxes done, and all
the weight loss commercials come on.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Weight loss and there always seems to be cars, and yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
We've extended the December to remember Zoom all right. Light
FM coming right back with more variety from the eighties
through today.
Speaker 4 (05:04):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on light.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
At them one to six point seven Light FM with
Cubby and Christine in the morning. Producer Kristin here every
day and again this is what day four of our
microphone not working or day three so making us crazy.
Thumbs up thumbs down from Kristin on how we're doing
on timing and everything. So thank you for the cues there.
I appreciate you so much. We'll get that mic fixed
very very soon.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (05:29):
Are you a polite person? I hope you are. I
think most of our listeners are. But maybe you're polite.
But you're not polite like you think you're being polite, hm,
But you're not being polite. And here's where we're going
and involves Thanksgiving.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
It involves Thanksgiving things that we may be doing which
we think, oh, this is cool, but the host may
find rude.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
And I've done one of these, by the way, have
you you're gonna.
Speaker 2 (05:52):
Mention it all right? One of them is you're invited
to a Thanksgiving dinner. Right, you're the guest, you're not
the host, and you bring over some large leftover containers,
you know, empties.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
I did that one time.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
You did.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Yeah, well they weren't large containers.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
But I've been going to this house many many years
and they were like family to me. Yeah, and they
always talk about, hey, take some food home, and they
would always give me stuff. Right. I thought I'd be
proactive and bring my own stuff, my own tupperware.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
See then, But it sounds like it's cool in your
situation because you always brought stuff home.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
But if you're a first time or somewhere, or if.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
You don't have the understanding in advance, like because maybe
they need the leftovers for their family. True, which tends
to happen to me when I go to my sister
in law. She makes such great food, but I understand
she's got to feed people, so she will give me
a little bit. But I don't go walking in with
containers like expecting then I'm going to walk away with
a ton of leftovers. It's not cool if you provide
(06:49):
your expertise on how to cook and prepare the food, right,
it's not going to like that.
Speaker 1 (06:56):
Just enjoy the fact that you've been invited over. Be quiet,
sit on the couch, have a drink, and let the
meal be starved.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Right, bringing ingredients for a dish that the host has
to put together, like they may not have time or
the space in the oven to now add in another
dish that they've actually got to work on. There they
kind of have timed everything out, asking if you can
help repeatedly. So, yeah, it's polite to one time say hey,
can I help with anything? And if they say no, no,
(07:25):
I've got it, just leave it alone.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Well maybe twice, not once. I would I would probably
say it.
Speaker 2 (07:30):
To confirming twice. Yeah, but don't be annoying about it. Yeah,
offering to cook when you can't, like your skills are limited.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
I've done that. Ye can't do a damn thing.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Please say no, right, and then suggesting to change the
place settings. The host has decided where guests would sit.
And even if you think you just want to keep
the peace, you know you're next to an uncle who
has something to say. I don't know what it is.
It's really not your gig, it's I'm not your job.
Let the host make all these calls.
Speaker 1 (08:02):
Well, if you or a friend you know have done
any of those things. We're available on text chime in
anytime at four four three six three.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
More Covey and Christine and a great music variety you
expect next on light at them.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Ritay Covey, Christine and produce a Christians down the Hall
wrangling in two rockets. We have two rockets. They're going
to come on in here in about fifteen minutes and
we will talk about what's happening tonight as we flip
to All Christmas. Five o'clock at Radio City Music Hall.
Today's National Stuffing Day, Today's National Gingerbread Cookie Day. Can
(08:34):
you tell the holidays are here here? If I wanted
to fly with stuffing? Would they let me on board?
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Very random question, right? But if I wanted to take
stuffing with me? Could you fly?
Speaker 2 (08:43):
This is important?
Speaker 1 (08:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (08:45):
Yeah, there are tsa.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
Rules on certain things.
Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yes, And I know you are traveling for Thanksgiving, so yes,
you can take your famous stuffing with you, Covey.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
I don't have to check it. I can actually check it.
If I make good stuffing and I'm so proud of it,
I could just you're with stuffing, I really am.
Speaker 2 (09:01):
You don't want anybody to miss that cook or uncooked
in a box or in a bag. These are the
TSA rules. This is what you can fly with and
what has to be checked. For Thanksgiving. You can fly
with baked goods, okay. You can even fly with meats
like turkey, chicken, ham, frozen cooks or un cooked. That's
gonna be heavy.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
I can have a whole turkey.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
And a whole frozen turkey.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
I don't have to check it. I can actually check it,
put it in the overhead. Okay, it's just.
Speaker 2 (09:25):
Ow if that falls. You're stuffing casse roles, so you're
green beans.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
I'm good at that too.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Yeah, mac and cheese. We had the whole discussion. People
love it or hate it. That can go with you.
Fresh veggies can travel with you, and fresh fruit, candy
and spices. The things that you.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Have to check, okay.
Speaker 2 (09:47):
The very sacred cranberry sauce in a can.
Speaker 1 (09:50):
You have to put the can into check luggage. You
can't bring it into your regular carry on.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
No, hud. What cranberry sauce going to do to anybody anyway?
I don't. I don't know why, but maybe the cans.
Speaker 1 (10:03):
No I make your sand, it's probably because you can't
open and look what's inside.
Speaker 2 (10:07):
Oh, there's that.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
That's what I'm guessing.
Speaker 2 (10:09):
Homemade or canned are spreadable, you gotta check them. Gravy
homemade or in a jar can gotta be checked.
Speaker 3 (10:15):
Right.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
If you've got wine or champagne or sparkling apple cider,
it's in your suitcase. You better bubble.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
Wrap that and put like underwear around it, and every
socks and every right in the middle of the leg.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
Yep, can fruit or veggies if it's got liquid in it.
I guess maybe that's why the cranberry sauce kind of
considered liquidy. You can't you can't take it with you.
You've got to check it preserves gems and jellies that
are spreadable, check those guys. And maple syrup you have
to put in your suitcase.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
It's funny, though, there is a list about like why
would you not just buy it when you get to
a particular long Oh there's that, But they had to
put a list out because some people fly with these things. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Well, like I said, you know, if you're famous for
one of those dishes and you want to take it
with you.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
You have to bring it to Grandma and Grandpa.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
More, Cubby and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on light at.
Speaker 1 (10:59):
Them points, m Cubby and Christine in the morning. It
is that time of you here.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Christine is here. It happened fast to it.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Yeah. The Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockets running
now through January fifth, only at Radio City Music Hall,
and we are very lucky to have two Rockets with
us right now. Katie her fifth season from Tampa Bay.
Speaker 5 (11:18):
Welcome, Katie, thank you so much, so excited to be here.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
And Danielle, your second season from San Diego, California. Welcome.
It's awesome having you. Are you guys tired? I mean
you had a show last night?
Speaker 2 (11:30):
Yes, we are.
Speaker 5 (11:31):
We are here on a happy Friday, everybody, and we're
so excited to just be celebrating the Christmas Spectacular starring
the Radio City Rockets. And it's also our one hundredth anniversary,
so very exciting about that too.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
And we are flipping to All Christmas later today five pm.
So we may see you again in a few hours
because we'll be at Radio City Music Hall. And Christine,
we are ready to go.
Speaker 2 (11:52):
We are so yeah. Can you help us do that?
Like we'll go out on stage and there's usually a
big switch switch and we need you guys to make
it look pretty beautiful. So tell us what it's like.
I mean, the legacy one hundred years. As soon as
you walk into Radio City Music Hall, isn't it now
like an immersive experience where you can see the costumes?
Speaker 5 (12:13):
Yes, there, Roquets have worn Yeah, all across Radio City.
There's different activations, there's archival costumes. We have different things
on site for our guests to see along with the show,
which is so special. But we're also celebrating all throughout
New York City, so you may go to various spots
and see anything Raquets, which is extra special this year.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Oh I love that. Yeah, I was reading Magnolia Bakery,
which we might need to stop by.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
The MPI building.
Speaker 2 (12:40):
Yes, ye beautiful. Tell us what's new this year because
I understand there's like this really cool sphere inside.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
Yeah, kind of like Vegas or Yes, the sphere in
Las Vegas has a sphere immersive sound and we've actually
brought that over and revamped it in Radio City Music Hall,
so the sound effects are even more clear than ever before.
You could be sitting in the front row or the
back row of the third mezzanine, and you can still
feel as if you're in that front row.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Let's get a review from our very own Danielle Delila,
who you saw it already, give us your review in
a New York way.
Speaker 6 (13:16):
Oh my god, that's all I gotta say. It was
absolutely incredible. It was magical. It was very memorable. And
seeing the former Rockets be a part of the night
over five hundred former and current Rockets, I mean, just
the vibe of the show. I've never heard Radio City
(13:38):
Musical at the Christmas Spectacula so loud. The crowd was
so loud.
Speaker 1 (13:43):
It was amazing. Does that make you feel good, because
that's passion right there.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
Yeah, it was such a magical night. So you had
the magical night we're talking about, in particular was inviting
back former Roquettes.
Speaker 5 (13:57):
We have this Rockets legacy where we have in their
information just to keep the history going and keep that
archival information, like four.
Speaker 1 (14:06):
Hundred people on the text thread.
Speaker 7 (14:07):
Yeah a little bit more than a text thread, but
we have just we're trying to just get all the
documentation so we can keep this legacy going for hundreds
and hundreds of years.
Speaker 1 (14:17):
Beautiful and I'm sure you've heard some great stories right
from the past Rockets.
Speaker 5 (14:21):
Yeah, you know what's really cool is I mean every
Rocket that has performed in the Christmas Spectacular has done
the Parade of the Wooden Soldiers. So doing that with
the audience that we had was even extra special because
you had five hundred wooden soldiers in the theater, which
I don't think we can say that every day.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
It's impressive. Well, Katie Danielle, the Radio City Rockets and
the Christmas Spectacular, you have to check it out. Go
to Rockets dot com and get your tickets.
Speaker 2 (14:46):
And box office.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
The Radio City Music All box Office also has tickets,
so you can stop.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
By too, all right, and we will see you just
a few hours because we go all Christmas at five
pm right here on Light of Them and thank you
for kicking off the day with us.
Speaker 5 (14:58):
Of course, thanks for having us the Rockets.
Speaker 1 (15:00):

Speaker 2 (15:03):
Let's correct to sir, high kicks hike done.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
Next on light FM.
Speaker 1 (15:11):
We're about to play you a clip of a song
from back in the day and you have to identify it.
It's our flashback track title and artist before I play
you the clip, Christine. Our prize involves Christmas.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
It's beautiful. It's a four pack of tickets to Disney's
Tim Burtons The Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail. It's at

only we have to go. For tickets, visit The Nightmare
Before Christmas light like one more time? Please for tickets,

Speaker 1 (15:56):
Although a light rail would be kind of.
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Cool, yeah, but this is light trail.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
At light Trail, all identify this song title and artist. Oh,
we just gave it to you. We just handed it
to you. But you know we might stump somebody one
more time. What song is that? One hund two two,
one six.
Speaker 4 (16:15):
Seven more Covey and Christine and a great music variety
you expect next on Light Out that.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Let's see if we can get a winner. One oh
six point seven Light FM flashback track? Can you identify
this song title and artist by this small snippet? Hi
Light FM? Do you know that tune title and artist?
Speaker 3 (16:33):
Yes? I do. I believe it's Gavin McGraw.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
I don't want to be that would be correct.
Speaker 2 (16:38):
Yeah, but we do call him Gavin de gras.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
All right, close enough. Hey, who are we talking to Jim?
And what do we have for Jim? Here?
Speaker 2 (16:45):
Christine, Jim, We've got a four pack of tickets to
Disney's Tim Burtons The Nightmare Before Christmas Light Trail at
the New York Botanical Garden.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Oh, that sounds sadulous, thanks to my digital love it.
Speaker 2 (16:55):
Yes, thank you.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
And Christine will be with Gavin de Graul at Radio
City Music Hall later today.
Speaker 2 (17:00):
That's right, we're kicking it off for all Christmas music
starting at five pm.
Speaker 1 (17:04):
And Gavin has a Christmas song too. We'll be talking
about that and playing it. And I don't know if
you remember this. This song came from the wb CW
teen drama series One Tree Hill.
Speaker 2 (17:14):
I forgot about that tie in.
Speaker 1 (17:15):
Yeah, I was back in two thousand and four and
I can't remember if it was the WB still or
the CW. I don't remember it was the Frog. This
was your theme song, Gavin de Graul and I don't
want to be on light FM.
Speaker 4 (17:29):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on light FM.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
All right, before we do our little giveaway, can we
talk about a little something that we're gonna be talking
about in fifteen minutes, Harry medved our movie guy is
gonna be calling in from la or we're gonna be
talking about Wicked.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
Yes, of course we.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Wickeds in the news because our Ina Grande is kind
of under the weather.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
She is.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
She's got COVID and you have to wonder where did
she get it?
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Where did she get it? For Ariana, she's got COVID.
They've been doing, you know, the press tour. And I
told you I love Ray. I think we all do.
Seeing Cynthia Revo and checking her Arianna. Yeah, and together
they just looked like such a beautiful friendship and they
look out for each other. And I remember when the
guy jumped on the red carpet and he tried to
grab Ariana nuts to heurt her, but wanted to be
(18:11):
close to her, and I said, Cynthia jumped right on
top of him. Yes, and she said that she was like,
it was just my instinct, of course to look after
her friend. So we're like, did that guy give her COVID?
Like where did she get COVID?
Speaker 1 (18:24):
We were thinking the same thing, like, I know she
could get it from anywhere, but what if that guy
that like, yeah, what happened past the velvet rope? I know,
And whatever the case may be, we hope she's better.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Cynthia Rivo had lost her voice. She was on vocal rest,
so I saw her being interviewed and her voices a
little shaky right now. But she's able to finish out
the press tour.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
A little pitchy, little pitchy dog is Randy Johns. Yah,
Randy Johnson. He was a baseball player, Randy Jackson.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
Yes, she's she's finishing out the press tour. Ariana can't
at the moment. She had just been on Jimmy Fallon,
so she was posting moments before I got COVID. So
I think Jimmy Fallon and his show has to be like, hey, let's.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
Get tested, all right, So it's all about Christmas here
at LIGHTFM, and we have something pretty cool for you
happening in December, don't we We do.
Speaker 2 (19:10):
We've got a pair of tickets to see Trans Siberian
Orchestra UBS Arena December eighteenth or Prudential Center on December nineteenth.
It's your choice. Tickets on sale now at ticketmaster dot
com or e.
Speaker 1 (19:21):
Caller ten one one hundred two two two one six seven.
What you need to know from Christine Nagy?
Speaker 4 (19:26):
Next, Cobby and Christine back in a moment on one
oh six point seven Light at.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
That everything you need to know? What do we need
to know? Christine? You have all that lines.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
Good morning, Coby. So New York City. Maralek Zorra Mandani
heads to Washington today. He's meeting with the President three pm.
He asked for this meeting and they are going to
be discussing the cost of living here in the city
and said to be looking forward to a conversation despite
some political differences. US automakers will soon have to test
(19:55):
vehicle safety using female crash test dumies. Did you know
that up to the point they've only been using mail
crash test dummiason.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
I guess it does make a difference. Right, Where's your.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
Bodies are different than ours, So I'm glad to see
that that's happening. Department stores across the city are ready.
Macy's in Harold Square they unveiled their windows last night.
It's the most wonderful story starts here. This year's windows
features a series of first celebrating Macy's holiday traditions, including
Santa Claus's arrival in eighteen sixty one. The windows look
(20:26):
absolutely beautiful. Bloomingdale's fifty ninth also unveiled their windows, Happy Together,
and they promised immersive experiences throughout the store. In sports,
the Islanders beat the Red Wings five nothing, Devil's lost
to the Panthers one nothing, Rangers lost to the Avalanche
sixty three, Texans beat the Bills twenty three nineteen, and
Thursday Night Football. Finally, if you're hosting Thanksgiving dinner, how
(20:49):
many pies do you need?
Speaker 1 (20:50):
Twenty nine exactly.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Good rule of them is to have one nine inch
pie for every six guests, especially since it's common to
have multiple types to choose from. Usually you give your
guests right an apple pie a pumpkin pie, So if
you have twelve guests, you should plan for two pies,
but often people like to have varieties, so having two
(21:14):
to three pies is probably a safer bet.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
And this is why math is so important. Kids pay
attention in school. You're always going to need math.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
What did we learn? One nine inch pie for every
six guests there we go? How many slices does each
guest get?
Speaker 1 (21:28):
That's it?
Speaker 2 (21:28):
You lost me?
Speaker 1 (21:29):
If a train is traveling from Chicago.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
More Covey and Christine and a great music variety you
expect next on light at them.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
Our dear friend Harry medved from the Cinema Foundation upright
and early to tell us all about Wicked, for Good
and so much more. How are you, Harry, Harry?
Speaker 1 (21:44):
I'm great.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Happy Friday, guys, Happy Friday.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
How long you've been up? It's five nine in LA.
How long you been up? Like half an hour? So
good for you? Good for you?
Speaker 3 (21:55):
Yeah, four thirty or so.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
All right, let's die.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
I can't wait to see you guys in New York.
I'm going to be there soon, so I'm trying to
like schedule meetings and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (22:03):
Great cool.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
I was the weather there right.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Now, cold cold, not too crazy, but it's full.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Yeah, bundle up when you come to cloudy.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
Today sounds good? All right?
Speaker 3 (22:15):
So way good time we go to a movie theater, right.
I mean it's cool, you can kind of get warm.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
Inside perfect in there.
Speaker 7 (22:20):
Yep.
Speaker 2 (22:21):
And Wicked for Good looks like something we definitely want
to see in the theaters, right.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
Oh, no, one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
Look.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
I love the guy who does the production design for
these films because it takes you to another world when
you see the first Wicked of this one. His name
is Nathan Crowley. He did all the Christopher Nolan movies.
He did Wanka a few years ago, and the Wicked
for Good is just magical.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
It is. It's another world.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
But that you entered the theater and I saw it
in three D where it really feels like a storybook
come to life, and the kids absolutely loved it. I
will tell you that if you're expecting to be better
than the first one, I'm not sure about that. As
one critic said, it's called Wicked for Good, it's not
Wicked for Great. It's very good.
Speaker 1 (23:06):
Christine told me that people are walking out crying like emotional.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Well yeah, so what I want to say is it's
a little bit more adult. It's just a little bit
darker I think. I mean, there's the more you know,
there's some tough themes in it, but wow, it's so
beautiful and just the friendship between Ariana Grande and Cynthia
Rivo is just so beautifully portrayed in the movie. A
lot of surprises. I thought it was really interesting how
(23:30):
they kind of go more into the original Dorothy story
of the Wizard of Oz, what they show happened behind
the scenes that you didn't know a lot of things
that weren't in the play. Because you know the second
act of the play, Christine, you've seen it a hundred times.
It's it's not as strong as the first act. So
they had to kind of bolster it up, and they
did some great things with the story. So I think
(23:50):
that's a fantastic time of the movie. You'll love it.
What I'd love is that so many theater ons around
the New York City area are doing so much for
the movie. It's like the whole theater is festooned and
pink and green colors. Your standis with balloons and drink
cups and like a little witch's had for popcorn and.
Speaker 1 (24:06):
Stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (24:07):
So it's, yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
They're really advantizing the whole movie going experience, so you'll
love it.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Hey, Harry, I have to ask you a question. Is
there another movie out there dumb enough? Yeah, to be
released today?
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Wicked is not your it's not your cup of tea.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
No, I'm saying like, it's like, what movie would come
out today besides Wicked? That would be like, like, it'd
be crazy to do it to me because we're all
talking about Wicked. Is there another movie out there?
Speaker 3 (24:30):
Sure? Well, you got Zootopa two coming out on Tuesday
next week, and then also one christ Yeah, this is
one that you guys have to see. Is called Hamnet,
not Hamlet, but Hamnet. It's based on the book by
Maggie O'Farrell with Paul mescal and Jesse Buckley. Who's gonna
win the Oscar for Best Actress, Christine. You got to
see this movie. It's a real performers film. It also
is a bit of a tear jerker. But what a
(24:53):
gorgeous movie. Directed by Chloe Jao who did of course
No Mad Land. She won an Oscar for that and
the writer and I think it's one of the best
films of the year. So that opened the next week
as well. In New York City. So go see Hamnett.
Speaker 2 (25:06):
And there's a movie today with Brendan Fraser, correct the
that's opening today.
Speaker 3 (25:13):
This is the kind this is the time of year
where people finally are getting good, smart adult movies to see.
So I'm i for one, I'm excited. Marty Supreme is
coming out in a few weeks. I saw that with
Timothy Schallome, a great New York City movie. By the way,
it really is a wild ride. Yeah, it's a little
period piece, but it's it's amazing. You know, New Jersey
(25:34):
has become this hot bed of filming. They shot a
complete unknown there. Of course, they shot the Springsteen movie there,
and now Marty Supreme and I don't know everything. Everything's
happening in New Jersey for the film industry, and people
are of course in the city.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Any chance of a good Burger remake? Great movie?
Speaker 3 (25:52):
Now, why would you touch that?
Speaker 1 (25:53):
Masterpiece? Harry Listen, we got a run. But next time
we talk to you, it might be live in studio.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
All right, it will be live in the studio, And
next time we'll be talking about Avatar a fire and
asks can't wait for that one. Another film? You got
to see them?
Speaker 1 (26:07):
Three D Harry Medfitt, everybody you know him, you love them.
Speaker 2 (26:10):
Found Let's go to.
Speaker 1 (26:12):
The theater, enjoy the movies.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
Thank you so much, Thank care.
