Speaker 1 (00:00):
One of six point seven light FM Lifehouse and You
and Me, Cubby and it is You and Me Nina
del Rio in for Christine and producer Kristen. She's with
us as well, although joining us from home because she
has an orientation today Jaggers getting oriented right today?
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Yes, pre K four pre K.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Four, so he's four pre K four. These are terms
it is.
Speaker 1 (00:22):
I don't know, yeah, right, And I was off yesterday
because Naomi was getting her kindergarten orientation and things went great. Yeah,
she's very happy. She's excited about a school that you
know in her mind. Wow, it's even bigger. And they
got a huge gym.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
And she likes her teacher. You like her teacher.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
Her teacher, Miss Chris. Miss Chris seems very nice. But
we do have one issue. And what would you do,
Nina and Krista, I need your advice. So she has
to be in school between eight and eight ten. It
says a rival time between eight and eight ten. Okay,
she's taking the bus. Sure, guess what time bus pickup is?
(01:00):
Uh oh, six thirty seven am. Because we live on
the other side of town. Now, if we drove there,
it'd be maybe eight minutes.
Speaker 3 (01:10):
So it's it's it's a five year old on the
bus for almost an hour and a half.
Speaker 1 (01:14):
Correct, oh, five and a half years old on a bus,
and she normally gets carsick, by the way, Yeah, we've
taken many shuttle buses before, like you know, from the
uh from the airport parking to the terminal. Yeah, she
always gets kind of like.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
That's a roation sickness, that's a road trip. So I'm
thinking she can't do this every day now, getting on
a bus at six thirty seven am that means like
a wake up call of about five forty five.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Probably. I don't know what to do. What would you
guys do? Change and drive, That's what I'm thinking.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
I think you're going to have to drive. Can you
carpool with somebody? Have you gotten that far yet?
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Yeah, we're not, like we don't have that many connections
yet with everyone going to that particular.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
School and somebody. You're here obviously, so right right, your
wife can drive her.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
The whole plan was, you know, like maybe a seven
thirty bus pick up. That's what we thought. What happened, Yeah,
and then my son wakes up around seven forty five,
So after Nailo me gets on the bus. Yeah, that
was the perfect world situation. Yeah, but to me being
at a bus stop at six thirty seven am, I
don't an hour and twenty every day for a school
(02:18):
that's only two miles away.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
And when does the school? When does the season the
school start? Monday?
Speaker 1 (02:21):
Tuesday?
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Tuesday? They kind of bury the lead, right, They like
got you all excited about coming to school. They showed
you all the stuff, the colors, you met the teacher,
and then you find out it's an hour and a
half on the bus to get there.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
I mean, overall, we're very happy with everything.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
But she's gonna see every street in your town because
she gets to school, I know.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
And we were talking to the bus people yesterday and
they were saying, well, you live on again, Like I said,
we're so far away. Yeah, but we're not so far away,
like we're in the same town, but it's on the
edge of town. Anyway, I don't know what to do.
We may try the bus next week and just see
how it goes. But we're leaning towards.
Speaker 3 (02:54):
Could you do it like one a week, just so
is it not even worse?
Speaker 1 (02:58):
They have to know everything way in advance. Oh, they
have to They had to know. We had to fill
out some paperwork. Yeah, they wanted a Monday pick up
to Monday drop off, Tuesday pick up, they wanted every
day and when you want the bus.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
And we got to know which kids are coming in
round Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
Yeah, yeah, So I don't know, Kristen, would you probably drive?
Speaker 2 (03:16):
I would probably drive because this would require your wife
to wake up your son who's not ready to go
to daycare yet.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Right, Well you mean Miles, right, what Miles is in daycare? Right?
Speaker 2 (03:30):
But if Coco wakes up Miles to take Naomi to school,
he's not ready to go to daycare yet?
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Right? Oh? Correct, but here, but here, it's funny you
brought that up. So you know, I talk about Miss
carin a lot. She's our daycare directory. She's the best,
She's like a second mom to all of us. And
Miss Kren said, just bring in Miles early too to
daycare and do breakfast with us and just get an
early start. So we're thinking about maybe driving Miles to
daycare at seven point forty and then taking Naomi to
(03:57):
school around seven fifty eight o'clock.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
When does when would Miles normally.
Speaker 1 (04:01):
Go like nine? Because he likes to sleep.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
See your miles.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
I think it's found a weakes of people up in
that house, right.
Speaker 3 (04:08):
Yeah, anyway, anyway.
Speaker 1 (04:10):
Are you excited about your orientation today? With Jagger, I am.
Speaker 2 (04:14):
We're nervous to meet his teacher, but he's excited to
see his friends.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
Yeah. Same with Naomi. She's she's so sad to be
leaving where she is, but she feels like she's growing
up because everything's bigger.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Oh that's cute. You're nervous about the teacher because, oh,
we've just.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
Heard she's not as lenient as the pre K three teacher.
So we'll see what happens.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Wow, that might not be the worst thing, though. I
mean that's true.
Speaker 1 (04:38):
I know we have to go to break But you
know what our teacher said. What I couldn't believe she
said this. She's very cool, but she said, yeah, I
give homework, but I don't care if you throw it
in the trash. I'm not kidding in my life and
I looked at each other and the teacher. But yeah,
we used to not give homework in kindergarten, but so
many parents requested it because they want to get their
(04:59):
kids in the habit of doing homework. So she goes
I do give homework, but if you throw it in
the garbage, I don't care. I'm like, I'll be happy
to do that. That's fantastic anyway. So that's what's going
on in our lives. And we're coming right back with
three pretty cool things on light FM.
Speaker 5 (05:14):
Cobby and Christine back in a moment on one O
six point seven light FM.
Speaker 1 (05:19):
Pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
It's three pretty cool things you need to know.
Speaker 1 (05:24):
With Cubby and Nina and for Christine and producer Kristin.
Here we go around the room with three pretty cool things.
So Guinness World Records just turned seventy on August twenty seventh, yesterday,
and they put out a list of seventy records nobody
has ever attempted, so the bar is set rather low. Okay,
so if you want to attempt these records, they've never
been tried. I won't give you all seventy. But here
(05:46):
are a few fun ones. The most high fives and
thirty seconds nobody's ever tried.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
Wow, we could do.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
That right here in studio.
Speaker 3 (05:52):
I'll definitely get our name in there.
Speaker 1 (05:54):
Most kisses in thirty seconds by two people. We could
do that, but there'd be an hr issue, Yes, there's
it's fastest time to make a burrito that has never
been attempted.
Speaker 3 (06:04):
There's somebody doing that right now in the city down somewhere.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Most anchovies eaten in one minute, Well, no one's ever
done that. You could eat too right now in one
minute and then.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Have the record.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Anyway, a little food for thought if you want to
attempt something later today.
Speaker 3 (06:19):
That's very funny.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
What do you have is a cool thing?
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Well, first day of school for a lot of kids,
your kids, for Kristen's kids, for so many of our listeners.
If your child is going to school for the first time,
to reduce their anxiety, put a favorite blanket or stuffed
animal from home in their backpack. According to pediatricians, an
item that smells like home will help the child feel
less anxious. It made me think of when you leave
home and you leave like a dirty pair of socks
(06:43):
for your dog. Yeah, same thing. Yeah, it's about the smell.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Well, the problem is I would do that for our
daughter when she goes to kindergarten, but she'll probably lose
whatever's in the bag. You know, you give her her
favorite stuffed animal. Oh yeah, it'll probably make it halfway
through the day. And then when she gets home, Hey,
where is MOUSEI Mouse, your favorite animal is no longer found?
Speaker 4 (07:01):
Good?
Speaker 1 (07:02):
Hey, Kristin, what's your cool thing?
Speaker 2 (07:04):
Well, first pumpkin spice lattes, but now we have Halloween
themed food. It's already available. The limited edition Halloween oreos
are on the shelves, but they're totally different from what.
Speaker 1 (07:15):
We're used to.
Speaker 2 (07:16):
They have two layers of cream in the middle. One
is bright green and the other is orange. And the
chocolate cookie has Halloween themed designs like a vampire or
a bat. So you could find these right now in
Walmart and in Target.
Speaker 3 (07:29):
All right, who doesn't love an oreo?
Speaker 1 (07:31):
I'm with you on that.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
Yeah, more Covey and Christine and a great music variety
you expect next on Light at Them.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
That Be and Nina and for Christine, we got produced
at Christen on a Thursday morning. I was off yesterday. Hey,
by chance, did you guys talk about Travis Kelcey and
Taylor Swift on the air yesterday? Like once? Did you
do it? Even once?
Speaker 3 (07:49):
We forgot?
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Really forgot, I mean because this big engagement happened on Tuesday,
and then all day yesterday it was NonStop.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
Walter, Sorry, Christine wasn't here for it. Sorry, Christine. This
is her story.
Speaker 1 (08:01):
That's funny how she's off this week on vacation when
we had the pumpkin spice with Starbucks happening and then
Taylor and Travis getting unreal. Yeah, but we're talking to her,
like me and Kristen have a thread going with her,
and she's been sending us stuff. Oh good, believe me,
she's well aware of it.
Speaker 3 (08:19):
Excellent.
Speaker 1 (08:20):
Have we learned anything more in the last forty hours,
Like do we know where they're registered or anything?
Speaker 3 (08:25):
We don't Travis Kelcey's jersey, by the way, had a
spike of two hundred percent in sales.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Has anybody read anything about her prenup? Like, do you
think there'll be one?
Speaker 3 (08:35):
She's gotta have one, Risen, what do you think?
Speaker 1 (08:38):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (08:39):
I feel like they definitely are going to have one.
Speaker 3 (08:41):
She's got amazing lawyers.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Now they're both very rich, right, but obviously Taylor wins
by a few billion, maybe as far as a little
bit higher than so. I mean, I saw a tweet
that was pretty funny. It was like the longest book
Travis is ever going to read is when that prenup
is the prenup. Where does she register?
Speaker 3 (09:01):
I don't know. And what would you get them? What
would you get people who have everything?
Speaker 1 (09:03):
Christy? What would you get Travis and Kelson? I mean
Travis and kel.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
Oh god, I wouldn't even know because normally you give
my money, but you can't give them money, so I
don't know.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
There's a list from Reddit about people's registry asking for
crazy things. Somebody asked for all the legos. You could
give them all the legos?
Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yeah, planned for kids?
Speaker 3 (09:24):
Yeah, pounds and pounds of lucky charms. How about that?
That's kind of cute.
Speaker 1 (09:28):
I like where you're going here. It's very unique and
you're thinking kind of out of the box. Yeah. Yeah,
they wouldn't expect that.
Speaker 3 (09:34):
Someone asked for a Volkswagen Beetle.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
These are all off of real reggil These are off.
Speaker 3 (09:39):
Of real registries, McDonald's gift certificates. Hey, you know, why not?
Why not a tattoo fund?
Speaker 1 (09:48):
I mean, really, you can't get them anything to me?
Speaker 3 (09:50):
No, somebody I'll also asked for a coffin. Well, someone,
you're all gonna everyone's gonna need one.
Speaker 1 (09:56):
I think planning ahead is not bad. It's not the word,
you know, it's very dark and morbid.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
I don't know how old the couple was.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Yeah, Light FM.
Speaker 5 (10:04):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on light F them.
Speaker 1 (10:08):
Do you collect anything strange, maybe odd, maybe wildly expensive?
A lot of celebrities do. It's one of six pointy
seven light fmcuby. Here, Christine is off. We got Nina
Pillin m. We got producer Christen working out of the
house today but sounding great with the equipment provided by Nina.
Do rio sure right, Kristin, you sound great?
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Yes, thank you, Nina, you do sound fantastic.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
And she's working from home today because she has her
son's orientation for school, the same thing I was doing yesterday.
Speaker 3 (10:39):
Got to go for the first day.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
You got to check it out right exactly. So here
we go. These are some celebrities with strange and wildly
expensive collections, and we want to hear from you at
four four three six three. Now, Nina, you have the
list in front of you as well. I do, well,
now which one stands out to you. I'm looking at
Nicholas Cage. Here he collects shrunken.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
Pigmy heads and haunted properties.
Speaker 3 (11:03):
You know, we we could verify that one. We could
actually he could actually verify that one.
Speaker 1 (11:08):
Mark Coppola, who works here at LIGHTFM and a four
point three ye brother KTU.
Speaker 3 (11:13):
I feel like we should ask you.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
He works at every radio station and I hear he's
here all the time, all the time. Yeah, Mark Coppola.
His brother is Nicholas Cage. We actually could verify that.
Speaker 3 (11:21):
Yeah, the one that's you know, a lot of these
seem like the person, very much like Dell. But Johnny
depp I did not. I did not foresee that he
has an enormous Barbie collection. I did not either, wouldn't
be into that, wouldn't have thought that one.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
He's also into uh, limited edition dolls like Beyonce, Elvis
and Lindsay Loewen. I didn't even know Lindsay Lowan had
a doll.
Speaker 3 (11:42):
I guess he just likes dolls and other celebrities. Penelope
Cruz is obsessed with coat hangers and collcts different shape,
sizes and designs of coat hangers.
Speaker 1 (11:51):
Kristin, what are you seeing on this list? Do you
have this list in front of you? I do?
Speaker 2 (11:55):
I mean I love Elton John's right. He owns fifteen
thousand pairs of sunglasses.
Speaker 3 (12:01):
They used to say when he would travel, he would
have an extra hotel room. Just put the glasses no way.
Speaker 1 (12:06):
Yeah, Now, this one I've heard about Tom Hanks. In fact,
I think CBS Sunday Morning, if I recall, did a
whole thing on this. But he loves vintage typewriters. So
Tom Hanks has over three hundred vintage typewriters from all
over the world showcased all around his house. That's that's
actually really cool.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
They look really cool. I've seen them. I don't know
what you do besides write right letters.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
What about you, Nina? But put you on the spot.
Speaker 3 (12:31):
You think I'm not really you know what I like
dishes like and I go someplace I always buy like
a touristy thing. But I'm not really collecting that, right.
They break and then I'll just buy another one.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
I have a ton of baseball cards, but that's not
considered strange or wildly.
Speaker 3 (12:44):
Expensive unless it are there anything valuable in there.
Speaker 1 (12:47):
There are a few valuable cards, but I don't have
a ton of them. Yeah, but it's not like odd
as like some of these people. Yeah, what about you, Christen?
Do you collect anything odd?
Speaker 2 (12:57):
Yeah? Nothing, strange I have. Well maybe maybe to me,
it's not strange. I'm a Disney pin collector. I pin
trade in the parks and all of that, so I
have a very large pin collection. But I don't think
that's strange, right, guys, I.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Don't think it's that weird. No.
Speaker 1 (13:11):
And when you say pins, you mean like the ones
you put on your shirt, right, not like inkins?
Speaker 2 (13:17):
No, no, no, no, not pens. Pins.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Pins. Yeah, that's a whole that's a whole thing with
Disney people. Yeah, they love the pins.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
It's like Olympics people. They do the pins.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (13:26):

Speaker 1 (16:58):
Know the people that do these polls muster really been
reaching this particular day. It's one of six point seven
l ainefm Coubby with Nina and for Christine producer Kristen.
The fact that a company actually said, hey, you know,
we should do we should do a poll. We should
ask Americans what's the scariest natural disaster that you can
think of, Like, where would you not want to be in?
(17:19):
Maybe you've been in one of.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
These and kind of a fun job as long as
you're not in the problem.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Well, if you're doing the poll, yeah, sure, calling people
asking what are you scared of? It's just a very
dark topic. But anyway they've done it, you have the answers.
The company said, all right, the scariest natural disaster according
to Americans in the recent poll, number one is what nina?
Speaker 3 (17:39):
A tornado?
Speaker 1 (17:40):
A tornado that would be scary.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Absolutely, they come up quick.
Speaker 1 (17:44):
Never been in one. I'm a big weather buff as
you know, seen many on YouTube, like Twister the movie
the movie Twister was great. Would not want to be
in one? And you always hear the how people describe it.
It is so creepy.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
That sounds like a freight train.
Speaker 1 (17:56):
They always say freight train. Yeah, oh, I can't imagine.
So tornado number one one. What's the number two?
Speaker 3 (18:01):
Tsunami? I mean, yeah, you've seen the aftermath of a tsunami.
That's terrifying.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
And tsunamis the fact that it could be a clear,
beautiful day. You could be anywhere, you know, and you
don't know what's coming.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
I'm kind of obsessed with those. There's a book called
Wave about a woman who survived the tsunami down in
what was it, two thousand and four Asia? Yeah, everybody,
if you like that kind of stuff, oh, that book.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
Yeah, it's just nuts. Luckily, you know, the earlier detections
are helping more for sure.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Yeah, people evacuate when they hear it's like fifteen hours away,
right in.
Speaker 1 (18:35):
Their tsunami warnings. It's still not like you know, what
do you call it? Failsafe?
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (18:41):
But whatever.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Anyway, earthquakes number three, earthquakes number three around here, they're
like nothing.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Yeah, you know when we get these like two point
five earthquakes in New Jersey, they make news because they're
kind of rare, But it's like a truck going by.
Speaker 3 (18:54):
I've never been vile in a Los Angeles style.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
I've never been like in a seven or a.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
Six and all hurricanes next, oh a hurricanes, we get
those here.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
So the thing about hurricanes, they're scary, but you have time,
Like our tornado, you may only have like fifteen minutes.
Heads up? What's number five flash?
Speaker 4 (19:15):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (19:15):
Wildfires? Yikes? I don't like those. I'd rather be flooded

But you wouldn't know until they actually die. Right, you
