Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's one of six point seven light a FM.
Speaker 2 (00:01):
Cubby and Christine in the morning produce a Christen Hanging
Out six oh eight in in honor of World Wish Day.
We have some members of Aladdin coming up here later
on today, just after eight am. We'll be talking to Jeanie,
Aladdin and Jafar. Yes, so we will, and of course
we'll tell you what their real names are when they
get here. But it's gonna be fun here granting wishes
later on today. Yes, how are you doing, Christine? Are
(00:22):
you packed and ready to go for your trip to
the Czech Republic?
Speaker 3 (00:25):
It's still not completely packed. You leave tomorrow night, right
tomorrow afternoon.
Speaker 1 (00:30):
Tomorrow afternoon?
Speaker 3 (00:31):
All right, it's closing in. Yeah, so it's like panic time.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Right, suitcase is like on the ground and open and
you're slowly putting things.
Speaker 3 (00:39):
In the closer in there, but it's and Kristin, are
you with me? The big that takes the most time
is to get all the hair products in there, the
makeup that you kind of can't do to the last
minute because you're using it exactly.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
So yeah, all right, it's crunch time for you, Christine.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Crunch time, Kristin and I were chatting off the where
we both received invites for our kids pre K graduation,
although mine's a little different than.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
Yours, Kristen.
Speaker 4 (01:07):
Yes, yes, Jagger's going from pre K three to pre
K four. Apparently they need a graduation for that, okay?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
And what's the date on that?
Speaker 4 (01:15):
June tenth?
Speaker 1 (01:16):
Okay? Yes, all right?
Speaker 2 (01:17):
Ours is the end of June. Shout out to miss Karen,
daycare director, always tuned in at this time. She gave
me the invite yesterday and we're so excited about it.
I'm like, is there gonna be an after party after
the pre k graduation? Will there be an after party?
That was my big concern, a dance party and maybe
a dance party, a chuck E cheese after party? And
do they throw like their hats up in the air
(01:39):
at the end or is it diapers that's a big graduation?
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Is it crayons? What do they do.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
To book an eye out?
Speaker 1 (01:47):
Oh my goodness, wait, so is.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Your son Jagger? Does he know the song we're moving
up to kid indergarten? Because that's what Naomi's been singing lately.
Speaker 4 (01:55):
I don't know. He hasn't come home singing anything yet.
I'm sure they're prepping for something.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
They're gonna perform, right and like kind of entertain the crowd.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
I hope. So I'm taking the day off or something, right.
Speaker 2 (02:06):
I Ours is an evening event. Wow, ours is five
thirty seven thirty. That's why I was thinking.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
You know, you have a whole presentation going on.
Speaker 2 (02:15):
Give me a nice seat, red Wine, and you kids
put on a show for us, right, all right, so
we're excited around here. A lot going on coming up.
We have three pretty cool things, and I'm gonna tell
you my cool.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Thing is a giveaway.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
Okay, I'm gonna give something away as part of our
cool things coming up next.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
More Cubby and Christine after this.
Speaker 5 (02:37):
When you sneeze, the particles travel at one hundred miles
per hour fasters in the maximum speed of a cheetah.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
That's pretty.
Speaker 6 (02:47):
Pretty cool.
Speaker 7 (02:49):
It's three pretty cool things you need to know.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
And one of the cool things is a giveaway.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
In fact, I'm gonna do the big giveaway, but if
you don't mind, Christine, I want to go last. Okay,
so we could end with a bang. All right, So
what's your cool thing, Christine?
Speaker 3 (03:02):
How to make our coffee healthier? Tell me yes, because
we love our coffee so much. First of all, try
and go with single origin coffee because you're getting less
pesticides and fertilizers if you go that direction. Put some
cacao in your cup. It's not sweet, but it'll give
the chocolate richness and it's good for cognitive disorders. Sprinkle
(03:22):
in some cinnamon that tastes good, anti inflammatory, a little
bit of turmeric on the side because coffee number five
that reduces inflammation and protects your heart. And finally, add
in a little milk full on fat because the protein
is good for you and the fat gives you a
little bit of energy.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
And if you missed any of this, give us a
text at four four three six three. Christine will happily
type the information to you.
Speaker 3 (03:48):
Love coffee, all right?
Speaker 1 (03:49):
Yeah, what do you have? Kristin? Is your cool thing?
Speaker 4 (03:51):
Did you know that you can vote for certain lego
ideas that haven't been made yet? So yeah, exactly, so
they're not in production yet, but there's a section on
the website where you can go you can vote for
these ideas to be made. And of course one in
particular got my attention because I'm that kind of millennial.
It's by actress Jodi Sweden. She plays Stephanie Tanner on
(04:13):
the TV show Full House. She's asking fans to vote
for the Full House lego set to be made. Oh,
isn't that so cool? So it would include the living
room and the kitchen because those are the two iconic
scenes of the show. You'll get eight mini figures including
Danny Tanner, Uncle Jesse, Joey, DJ Stephanie, two Michelle figures,
and their name or their neighbor Kimmy Gibbler. So the
(04:36):
pictures look really cool.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
That's fun.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
You got it, dude. You gotta vote. You got it, dude.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
That is very cool. Now my cool thing is something
that Christine and I saw last week. It's Broadway's most
talked about new show, Dead Outlaw, the wild true story
of Elmer McCurdy, the bank robber whose body toured carnivals
after he died. It's a dark comedy, wild history and
killer music and this show really has it all. Want
to see it? Be caller ten right now one one
(05:02):
hundred two two two one oh sixty seven and you're going.
You can grab tickets right now at Dead Outlaw Musical
dot com.
Speaker 5 (05:08):
Good luck More Covey and Christine and the great music
variety you expect next on light at.
Speaker 2 (05:14):
Them talking about like, seriously, how many pillows you sleep with?
Speaker 1 (05:17):
Not right on the bed, right.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
In decor that you toss off the bed because.
Speaker 2 (05:21):
We have like twenty decore pillows. Yeah, it takes like
a minute. Yeah, get in the bed.
Speaker 3 (05:26):
Yeah. So not those guys, but what you actually need
to sleep with. So I'm not trying to, you know,
make you crazy by giving you these stats, but those
of us who sleep with three or more pillows tend
to have higher anxiety levels than people can sleep with
just one pillow. Interesting, it's a little study that was
(05:48):
shown and they said, subconsciously, we might be looking for
some emotional protection, like people with high anxiety sometimes surround
themselves with physical barriers. I'm laughing because it's so true,
like body pillows, or you stack a pillow behind your back,
or you've got one that you use as a shield,
like over your stomach. People who do this feel like
(06:11):
maybe there's a little safety zone in the bed. They
tend to suffer more from racing thoughts at night, have
two and a half times more anxiety, again than folks
who are not using all of these pillows. So I'm
not saying that this definitely means you have anxiety, but
there is a correlation.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
Christine, take us into your bedroom, give us a visual.
All right, one one head is on the pillow. That's
your head.
Speaker 3 (06:36):
One head is on two pillows.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
Okay? Are you a side oh? Two pillows? Yes? Are
you a side sleeper?
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Back and forth, side to side?
Speaker 2 (06:43):
So if you're on your side, two pillows on your head, right,
or you're laying on the pillow.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
On top of your head right, not on top of
my head?
Speaker 1 (06:50):
Is there a pillow to your like left? If you're
on your right side, between my knees, between your knees.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Okay, pillow between my knees, and one hug pillow.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Every night every night. Now, if you have to turn over,
do you bring that hug pillow or.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
You have to switch the knee position and bring the
hug pillow to the other side. And the pillow that
Eric seems to steal the most is the hug pillow.
And I get very upset, like it's a hug pillow.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
No, Christine, I mean, I'm sorry, Kristines. Take us inside
your bedroom.
Speaker 4 (07:24):
One pillow me too, that's it.
Speaker 1 (07:28):
But it's not like you're different or anything. Christine.
Speaker 2 (07:31):
It's okay, we're all doing something we like.
Speaker 3 (07:36):
I think I'm the queen of anxiety here.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
Then.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Yeah, it's a fluffy pillow. It's not like a flat pillow. So,
but you know, you sound like me when I was pregnant.
I had the pillow in between my legs.
Speaker 1 (07:49):
When she was pregnant.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Yeah, lots and lots of pillows, but now just just
one pillow, right, all right.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
So there's a problem for vacation by the way. Oh,
I'm sure you know, because if there's not extra pillows.
Sometimes they leave extra pillows in the closet, huh, but
they don't always.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
So what will you do?
Speaker 3 (08:05):
Get a towel, keep stealing Eric's until he's like one.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Pillow all right.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
So the big question is on text, how many pillows
do you sleep with?
Speaker 8 (08:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (08:15):
And do you think do you think it's related to anxiety?
Speaker 8 (08:18):
I don't know it.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Hit us up four four, three, six three on text
as we have more variety from the eighties through today
coming up.
Speaker 5 (08:25):
Next more Covey and Christine and the great music variety
you expect. Next on Light at Them.
Speaker 2 (08:30):
It's one of six point seven Light at them. Covey
Christine producer Christen crazy story. You just told me, but
I didn't even hear about it, Christine.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
He has this little miniature dogs and who went missing.
This is Kangaroo Island in Australia. Somehow survived nearly a
year and a half after the couple who brought their
little dog Valerie out for some hiking gave up on her.
So I always wonder like if they could talk and
tell us their adventures, right, these animals that show up
(08:58):
miles away or find their way back home. They went
hiking back in twenty twenty three. They spent a week
searching for Valerie and they had to give up because
there's so many predators on the island. They were like,
she didn't make it. All of that changed in March
when people started seeing a dog with a pink color
(09:19):
on the island with you know all the wild animals, like,
who's got a pink color?
Speaker 2 (09:24):
And now we're talking two years since the dog, yes,
got lost.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
So rescuers were able to track her. They they very
safely trapped her and have returned her to her family.
Valerie was missing for five hundred and twenty nine days
on her own again on an island in the Australian wilderness.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Incredible.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
Either that dog has incredible hunting skills or somebody was
feeding it.
Speaker 3 (09:50):
Maybe I don't know, Yes, somebody looking after her, but
like we wonder, like were animals looking after her, would
they take care of her?
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Possibly? I mean, you never know. It goes back to
what you said, if this dog could.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Talk, story, what adventures?
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Definitely a good story to hear. Though. We've all lost
an animal and maybe you're going through it right now.
Don't lose hope. Yeah, all right, because I don't know
about you.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
My ring alert I get the ring alerts all the time, yes,
and it's always like found a dog, found an animal,
found a cat. Anybody lose a husky? Get all the
time on my ring alerts? You know you get those Christen, No.
Speaker 4 (10:26):
No, no, But you know what it's it's hard because
when you have like we had a dog and the
dog passed, but Roco, his name was Roco. My door
front door opened and he was gone. He's like I
want to go play and you know nothing. He was
trying to run away. But when they do run, you know, it's.
Speaker 3 (10:41):
Hard to get that. Yeah, my whole life, dogs, cats,
everybody when you see a squirrel or a bird and
make a run for it, and it's like, no, right, and.
Speaker 1 (10:49):
I'm thinking, why are they running away? They have it
so good.
Speaker 3 (10:52):
I think they realized it after a while and then
they're like, uh, oh right, how do I get back?
Speaker 1 (10:58):
All right, Christine, you have the head lines coming up
and what else.
Speaker 3 (11:01):
We're gonna check that out. And oh we're also going
to check out the checkout line. So when you're in
the express line and somebody has more items than they're
supposed to, what do you do?
Speaker 1 (11:09):
All right?
Speaker 5 (11:10):
Cobby and Christine back in a moment on one O
six point seven Light at Them More Cobby and Christine
and the great music variety you expect next on Light
at Them.
Speaker 2 (11:20):
Hey, maybe you're married now, but that first date was
kind of weird. If you have a story for us,
hit us up four four three six three. All you
have to do is text us and say I got
a crazy first date story for you. If we get
you on the air, we'll give your prize. It's one
of six point seven Light FM Cubby and Christine producer
Kristen And speaking of dating, or maybe if you're with
somebody for a long time. Yes, imagine this happening. Maybe
(11:42):
you're eating dinner at a restaurant. You see this happening.
Speaker 1 (11:44):
What would you do?
Speaker 3 (11:45):
This is from the Everything Romance book. We're being advised
to do this to kick it up and notch and
heat up your evening. Okay, so ladies, this is what's
being suggested for.
Speaker 1 (11:55):
We're going to get through this, by the way.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
I don't think so. But this is like real advice,
advice from dating experts. You're out to dinner with your man.
First thing you want to do, purse your lips into
a kiss as you chew each morsel real slow.
Speaker 1 (12:12):
We're aund, but this is from an expert.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Got started yet?
Speaker 1 (12:16):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (12:17):
Do the old wondering two straws bit so cute. We
have to.
Speaker 2 (12:22):
It's for our first eight by the way, or just
if you're with somebody forever, do it. Do it, no
matter what.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
Just a romantic dinner, Just just.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
A way to heat up a dinner.
Speaker 3 (12:30):
Yeah, okay, make a real show out of licking a spoon. Okay, goodness,
and put a taste of your food on your finger
and let him remove it with his mouth.
Speaker 2 (12:44):
If Coco did that after being married ten years, I'd
be laughing.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
I know, what would you do, Christa?
Speaker 4 (12:52):
And I'd be like you, No, I'm not no, yeah,
eating it off your finger?
Speaker 5 (12:55):
What?
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Well, apparently it spices things up. But if you do
these things, would.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
You guys have done this on a first or second date?
And if a girl, say a girl was doing this
with you, cubby on one of your first dates.
Speaker 2 (13:11):
I would start to laugh, especially if she did all three,
although if there was something good on her finger that
looked really good, I'd probably say let.
Speaker 1 (13:19):
Me try it.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
I will say that, except, mind you, a first or
second date is out in public.
Speaker 1 (13:26):
So all that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 4 (13:28):
No, yes, come on.
Speaker 3 (13:29):
And what if you're the couple who's sitting next to
this couple where it's like turn away, I can't.
Speaker 1 (13:35):
It would make a great Instagram, all right.
Speaker 2 (13:38):
So one more thing. It's about the lips, you said.
It's about the.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
Purser lips into a kiss as you chew, You share
a drink with two straws, you make a real show
out of licking a spoon, and you put a taste
of your food on your finger and let him remove
it with his mouth. And I's just gonna fall in
love with you.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Yeah, right, okay again?
Speaker 2 (13:58):
Hit us up on text four four three six three

Speaker 3 (14:18):
We have Regina on the phone. Good morning Regina. When
did your crazy first date happen?
Speaker 9 (14:23):
Back in nineteen eighty five, we were in high school
and we were set up by our mutual friends, and
obviously it was a blind date. And I had asked
my friend what are you doing for Fourth of July weekends?
And she's like, oh, nothing much. So she's like, well,
we're gonna go down to the beach and then she
knew the sky and I was like okay. So she
set us up and we were going down to Balmore.
(14:46):
So we had dinner beforehand. We went to McDonald's and
somebody said something funny. I started choking on a chicken McNugget.
Oh no, and they're like, like, what do we do?
So they started patting me on the back.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
And so you met him out of McDonald's, like that
was your first sighting of him?
Speaker 9 (15:02):
That was our first date, you almost died. It was
a mutual fund, yeah, basically, and then they I passed
the chick him and nugget. We went down to the
beach and saw the fireworks and everything because it was
sports of July weekends.
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Did he actually do the one? Was he the one
that saved you from joking? Or is it another friend
that helped you?
Speaker 9 (15:19):
Honestly, I don't know, because somebody patted me on the
back end. Can we see who it was?
Speaker 4 (15:23):
Were you like really embarrassed? Did you think like this
is it?
Speaker 9 (15:26):
Of course I was like, oh my god, this is
my first date.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
This is it.
Speaker 9 (15:30):
He's not gonna want to see me again, you know,
but you know it worked out.
Speaker 3 (15:34):
Did you guys state each other exclusively right after that?
Speaker 9 (15:37):
Well? Yes, we were high school sweethearts.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
Huh okay, wow, Yes that was Regina and her crazy
first date. Of course, she got a prize for sharing
her story. And we have something if you're called ten

months years but worth it, right, totally worth it.
Speaker 5 (17:26):

And today is a big day around here.
Speaker 2 (17:40):
It's not just a typical Tuesday. It is World Wish Day.
And what a perfect day to collaborate the power of
wishes and the magic of theater with some members of
Disney's Aladdin on Broadway End studio with us today. We
have Otti Roy, who plays Aladdin.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
Good morning, morning, thanks for having me.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
It's like a roll call here, Yes, Michael James Scott,
who plays Genie, welcome Michael, good again.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
And Dennis Stowe, who plays Ja'afar. Thank you for coming
in everyone. Yeah, how does it you probably had a
show last night or something. Are you Are you tired
right now? Is this early for you? Yes?
Speaker 10 (18:14):
Dennis says, yes, yes, it's early, but I like early.
I'm actually I'm a morning person. I know, I'm surprised.
I'm always on.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
And Audie, what time do you wake up in the morning?
Speaker 6 (18:23):
Oh, Man, I can't say I'm a morning person, but
I'm here thankfully.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Well, Michael, you've played Genie for eleven years now, original
cast member, right, I am Dennis and I both are
original right, right?
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Yes? But Dennis you were an understudy, correct?
Speaker 10 (18:35):
I was, yeah, yes, and I was the original standby
in the very beginning, and then I left to go
and do some other things and then came.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Back to So Michael, what is it about Aladdin that
keeps it stronger than ever? It keeps getting better and better,
like it doesn't die. It's the heart of our show,
is joy. I always say this.
Speaker 10 (18:51):
Aladdin is a universal show like music is a universal language.
Speaker 1 (18:55):
I feel like Aladdin is one of those universal shows.
Speaker 10 (18:58):
And because of its iconic nature it's iconic story, people
can connect to.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
It from literally everywhere in the world.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
So it's not narrow niche to what you're saying yes,
everybody gets it, Yes, and it's for everyone.
Speaker 8 (19:12):
We really benefit from the nostalgia of it all and
Aladdin being such an iconic you know movie.
Speaker 3 (19:20):
Yeah, story, and we love the music of course, like
you said, it brings us so much joy. So Audi
for you, you traveled across the US with the show, right,
how does it feel landing here on Broadway and kind
of staying put for a little while?
Speaker 6 (19:32):
Oh man, I'm from Jersey, so it's welcome back. Yeah,
that's great. It's kind of like north central Jersey. It's
it's Chatham, okay, of course. Yeah, yeah, but you know
it was it was wonderful. Again, I had the opportunity
to take this show across the nation and I got
to experience stuff, and thankfully it was also such a
(19:52):
formative age for me, so like it really let me
grow into myself as a person.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
Were playing Aladdin junior high?
Speaker 6 (19:59):
Yeah, I was play a Laddin junior. You got a
head start, I got a little bit of a I
started a few steps ahead, but maybe one jump ahead.
Speaker 2 (20:11):
And now, Dennis, when you were an understudy, were you
secretly hoping the person that would break a leg? Does
an understudy kind of want something to happen or are
you just happy being there?
Speaker 8 (20:24):
You know, I I just went with the flow, you know,
of it all. I started in the ensemble UH and
was the on stage understudy. Then I became the standby,
which is an off stage understudy as well, and then
you know, I was I always say I was gifted
the role by the great Jonathan Freeman, who was the
original voice of Jafar and one of the only people
to portray a character that they voiced UH in an
(20:47):
animated film. So I got to learn from him and
UH and he very graciously you know, passed the as well,
as we say, passed the staff over.
Speaker 1 (20:57):
To me, literally literally over to me. You could you
could look it up.
Speaker 10 (21:02):
It was a prime Yeah, at the end of the show,
they literally did that, and then it didn't even know
what was your reactions.
Speaker 8 (21:10):
They called me out and he did this whole thing
with the heat that he constructed like he did it himself,
and passed the staff in front of the whole audience,
and it was just one of the most generous and
amazing things. So it felt right.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
What do you guys do between a matinee and a
nighttime show. I've always wondered that nothing. I have to
literally late. I have to sit down in my dressing
room and most of the time makeup and I unfortunately
don't get to take off. I wish I could because
that would help.
Speaker 8 (21:38):
I usually go home. I try to go home. I
live in Harlem, so I just I go home, even
just for an hour, yeah is good.
Speaker 1 (21:45):
Yeah, and eat. I very rarely go to sleep because
I wouldn't get back up.
Speaker 10 (21:49):
So yeah, yeah, I watched reality television before each show.
I usually watch Jeopardy and uh will afford that literally
is on my dressing room. I pause it when I
go to Zoo Arabian Nights to come back, and then
I've watched the winner. Usually see the Zoo winner of
my dresser and they're always like we're like, oh my god,
who what. I'm like, you know the person that you
(22:11):
know it's been winning for weeks. Yeah, I like that,
cried when Pat Sajack laughed, like, I was like, oh
my god, that's crazy. Yeah, it really is it? Oh yeah,
like a commentary on Fanta's outfits, it's all situations.
