Speaker 1 (00:00):
Six nine, Wednesday, July ninth. We survived the weather last night.
We were just talking about that when the song was
playing crazy crazy weather man came in got all dark,
thunder lightning, and uh, I mean, it's kind of enjoyable
when you're inside, but I know a traffic was a mess.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah, you know, I want to be out there.
Speaker 1 (00:17):
Reading a story about how bad all the airports were affected.
In fact, I'm such you know, I'm an aviation buffy.
So I just picked a random flight that was leaving Newark,
because you know, all the europe flights leave in the evening,
And I just picked a random flight and I said,
let me track this one flight and see what happens.
It was Newark to Lisbon. It was supposed to take
off at eight twenty last night, so I checked it
(00:39):
at nine thirty and it had not pushed back yet.
Went to bed, got up this morning. One of the
first things I checked was this random flight. I am yes, yes, yes,
And it took off at twelve forty three in the morning.
Speaker 3 (00:52):
Yike.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
So you have a long flight to Europe. You're mentally
you're prepared for that, but then you have four hours
before you and take off. I feel bad for those people.
But anyway, it's a brand new day less activity in
the thunderstorm world today. There could be a stray one,
but I don't think it's going to be too bad.
And I have ninety. It's National Sugar Cookies Day. Ye
I love sugar cookies. It's National dimples Day.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Oh you have them? Who's got them? No?
Speaker 1 (01:19):
No one here has dimples?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
No? Sorry?
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Interesting?
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Sorry?
Speaker 1 (01:22):
All right, we stink. And it's National Fashion Day, A
good day to flaunt your unique style.
Speaker 2 (01:30):

Speaker 2 (02:11):

Speaker 5 (02:12):
We're talking tour, so we're talking about the beautiful suits
and little jackets and you know they're they're very distinctive,
and the quilty handbags that you're gonna buy us for Christmas.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
The most expensive thing. See how I'm gonna get you
Chanel lipstick? You know, because you said you had no Chanelle.
But it's okay, all right, we're good.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Well we'll take yeah, the bags.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah, how much is an average bag?
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Like eight to ten thousand dollars the lowest? Yeah, yeah,
that's what that's all.
Speaker 6 (02:39):
We'll add.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
We're not asking for the big one.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Canal Street. I'm coming Canal Street. I'll be down there
later today to get a channel bag channel. That's how
I'll be spelled on it. And they'll be fifty bucks.
Speaker 2 (02:51):
Okay, well, all right.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
Very Christmas.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Covey and Christine in the morning. More next on one
six point seven light FM.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Pretty cool. It's three pretty cool things. You need to know.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
This is pretty darn cool. If you've heard about it,
I apologize, I think I knew this but forgot about it.
But do you know the significance behind the sentence The
quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick
brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
Speaker 2 (03:22):
I feel like I've heard it, but I don't know.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
That's the only amount. If it's the only but it's
the one sentence that has every single letter in the alphabet.
Oh oh interesting, And it got popular during typing classes
back in the day. Oh you would hit every single tea. Yeah. Key,
So I thought that was pretty cool. It's called a pangram.
Pangram of course. Oh yeah, you have a much cooler thing,
(03:46):
I think.
Speaker 5 (03:47):
Christine, Well, this is pretty awesome. So Shaquille O'Neal Shaq
is walking around Staten Island right Dongan Hill's Staten Island,
going in and out of shops. Apparently felt nature calling
needed to use the bathroom. So he runs into a
dress shop called Oakature, and he asked the store owner,
can I use your bathroom? And she said, uh, yeah,
(04:08):
she recognized him. She goes, I don't know if you're
going to fit because it was a huge Yeah. It
was a woman's dress shop and there were some girls
in there and they were picking out dresses. So he
was very grateful to the shop's owner for letting him
use the bathroom. When he came out of the bathroom,
the girls recognized him, he said, hi, you signed to autographs.
He ended up buying all the dresses that the girls
(04:30):
were looking at.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
That picks up the tab.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
What yes, wow, Yeah, like stange girls looking at prom
style dresses.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Man, super cool. That's very cool.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
If you was at a Chanel store, and you were
at a Chanel store, you would have finally gotten your
Chanel bag you've always wanted. Yeah, exactly, all right, Christian,
you're up.
Speaker 6 (04:46):
A new thirteen hundred piece lego set is coming out
and it's based on the Wicked characters Glinda and Alpha Ba.
And the cool thing about it is that when you
put it together the final models, they become a pair
of book nds, so you can actually put them on
your bookshelf and have use for them.
Speaker 5 (05:03):
Right.
Speaker 6 (05:04):
So, Alphabe's green bookend features the Emerald City, and then
Glinda's is a pastel pink and it represents the university
that they met at. So it's available for pre order now,
but it's going to arrive in the stores September first.
Speaker 1 (05:17):
A lot of parents are listening right now, are going great,
more legos? Yep, more legos? All right? Thank you? Three
pretty cool things.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
LIGHTFM more Covey and Christine and the great music variety
you expect next on light FM.
Speaker 1 (05:30):
This is gonna be a cool show, right guys, LIGHTFM, Covey, Christine,
producer Christin And I'm not talking about our show, although
I think our show is pretty cool. It's a pre
radio show. We're reading about this new show that just
dropped on Netflix today. It's called Building the Band. Check
this out. This is amazing. Fifty super talented singers audition
for each other to find the perfect bandmates to form
(05:51):
six bands before competing to be the next vocal group.
But the big twist they're doing it before even seeing
each other. They're forming bands blind basically, and they'll focus
on vocal compatibility and personal chemistry. And I mean this
sounds like really genius, like never done before.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
Yeah, we definitely want to see this.
Speaker 5 (06:13):
Eric and I are going to check it out tonight
because these are excellent singers. By the way, there's no
bad singers. It's not one of those.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Right.
Speaker 5 (06:21):
Everybody you're going to see is incredible and I love
who the hosts are, which I think producer Kristen you
should well, yeah being a BSB fan, Yes, oh yes,
aj from the Backstreet Boys, A McLean Yes, yes, he's
one of the hosts. And also Nicole Scherzinger. She's a
mentor and a judge and she just won the Tony
for Sunset Boulevard. She's amazing.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Yeah, so check this out. We highly recommend it. We
saw a little preview and we're reading about it now
in one of our papers, and apparently it's just going
to be so cool. So it's out right now. Actually,
and it's Wednesday today. Yeah, there's new episodes. Actually I
went today. New episodes on Wednesday, July sixteenth and July
(07:02):
twenty third. So the show is called Building the Band
and it's on Netflix.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
More Covey and Christine and a great music variety you
expect next on light at Them.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
What do you think is the most popular summer activity?
You have a top ten list, Christine and.
Speaker 5 (07:18):
Uh, which direction are we going? I know, we always
this is we need to decide this before we open the.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Mics, I know.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
But it's also fun star.
Speaker 5 (07:26):
Okay, Kristen makes the call. All right, yes, number ten,
here we go having a picnic.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Having a picnic is the most popular summer activity. What's
number ten? So that's good.
Speaker 5 (07:36):
Number ten Number nine is watching fireworks. All right, we
love that. We love stargazing. That's been coming in at
number eight, boring. I like it. Number seven swimming in
a pool. Oh, I thought that would have been higher,
Like you would think that would almost be number one, right, swimming?
Number six, hiking or nature walks. Okay, that's beautiful, and
(08:00):
of course going to the beach.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Too, should have been number one.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Yeah, you're just tuned in. We're in the middle of
the most popular summer activities.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
According to Americans.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
Yes, here we go, so we're number four.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Road trips, Baby, I like road trips to you.
Speaker 1 (08:16):
I like driving in general. I just you know, here
in my car all that's like that song Gary Newman.
I just like the costs.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Just play that for four hours. Yeah. Grilling comes in third.
Oh okay, number one, I know.
Speaker 5 (08:32):
Number two is going on vacation, which again feels like
it should have been number one. Yes, number one favorite
summertime activity.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
Does it involve licking?
Speaker 2 (08:44):
It involves licking.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
It involves licking.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
Yeah, it is eating ice cream.
Speaker 6 (08:50):
I love ice cream, but.
Speaker 5 (08:53):
I just love that our favorite activity is the most
passive activity.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Let me just sit back and have an ice cream.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
And you know, it's funny we have this top ten list.
We also have another thing in our show prep about
the unhealthiest places to live. Oh right, there's nothing.
Speaker 5 (09:08):
Only have we have healthiest states, and so Vermont is
the healthiest, and Kristin you said New York is somewhere
in the middle.
Speaker 6 (09:15):
Yeah, New York, New Jersey and Connecticut all three or
somewhere in the middle there, which is not.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
A bad thing.
Speaker 6 (09:20):
But we're also not healthy clearly.
Speaker 1 (09:23):
So exactly. Anyway, eat your ice cream at summertime. It's fine.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Next on light FM one to six point seven light
FM your home for three hours of commercial free music,
kicking off at eight twenty Cubby Christine producer Kristin Christine,
you don't mind if I drag your personal life on
the air, do you?
Speaker 2 (09:43):
No? I share away. I feel this is very relatable.
Speaker 1 (09:46):
Okay, yeah, are you and your fiance Eric okay? At
the moment, we're good? Okay, thank you.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Cobby.
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Was it rocky for a moment? It was yesterday. It
was all about wayfair.
Speaker 5 (09:57):
Basically I have said many times wayfair. These can be
relationship maker breakers very true.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
The last time we ordered from.
Speaker 5 (10:05):
Wayfair and we put a shoe cabinet together. It holds shoes,
I thought that was going to be the end of us. Yeah,
like it was pretty intense. So it's been a couple
of years and I recently.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Ordered from Wayfair over the fourth of July.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
They had great sales, right, So I'm sitting with Eric
and I'm showing him what I want to get and
it's it's a bookcase, but not just a bookcase on
the bottom, there's three drawers and cabinet, so it's a
little complicated, you know, great sale. I said to him,
do you want me to hire the Wayfair professional because
(10:39):
they'll put it together for us and we don't have
to worry about it. And he was like, well, how
much is that? It was eighty five dollars extra. He's like, no, no, no,
just get me a pizza and I'll do it. I said, Eric,
it says it takes an hour and a half. And
I'm no good at this cubby, I'm you know, so
it's all on him. Yeah, And he's like, just no,
a pizza and we're good. So now I'm starting to
get a little nervous. I'm like a pizza and we're good. Okay,
(11:01):
the box showed up yesterday. I couldn't even budget it
was so heavy.
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Oh I hate box furniture. Yeah, especially the big pieces,
the big pieces, like you can't believe you ps or
FedEx even.
Speaker 5 (11:12):
Got it to your door exactly what just that is
a miracle. He drags it into the garage and he goes, oh, yeah, okay,
I'm gonna hate this. I'm I'm already angry at this
piece of furniture. I'm like, wait, you didn't even open
the box yet. He goes, yeah, no, no, I hate it.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
I hate it.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
So I said, Eric, you had, like we had the
opportunity where I could have hired the Wayfair guy.
Speaker 2 (11:33):
And he goes, well, go back and get the Wayfair guy.
Speaker 5 (11:35):
I'm like, I don't think we can get the Wayfair
guy Anymorezza guy. I did order a pizza last night, covery.
But it started coming down to I said, oh, I'm
I am so sharing this with Cubby and Kristen. They
knew this piece was coming, and and he's like, I
just I don't I don't know if I can do it.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
So he was he was backing out.
Speaker 5 (11:55):
He was he was backing out of the deal. I
did get the pizza, but we didn't even that's the
furniture again, because I thought this is getting treacherous.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
You ate pizza looking at the box.
Speaker 5 (12:05):
Furniture that he said. He was already angry it happened,
went to bed. There were thunderstorms, were we're talking more
about the weather and stuff like that. Got up this morning.
This morning for me is three fifteen in the morning,
and he's like, good morning, and I said hi, and
he's looking all proud, and I.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Was like what. He goes, I put your cabinet together. Wow,
I said, wait, wait what say?
Speaker 5 (12:27):
Well, I was sleeping he put the piece of furniture together.
Speaker 1 (12:32):
Your fiance, for those who don't know, is a night owl. Yeah,
usually going to bed as you're waking.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
Up, right, because he usually has a gig, but he
didn't have one last night.
Speaker 2 (12:41):
He was not drumming last night.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
So did you go to bed last night? Kind of
bummed out?
Speaker 5 (12:45):
Like man thinking, all right, I gotta look for a
handyman or go to task rabbit or you know something.
Speaker 1 (12:50):
And he pulled it off and there it was.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
Eric.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
You know, sometimes we pooh pooh on you because you
do a lot of the same things I do, and
you made me feel better. But you know what you
came through, buddy, you did it, and I'm proud of you.
And now the pressure is on me.
Speaker 5 (13:06):
Yes, go build a piece of furniture company.
Speaker 1 (13:08):
Yeah, you know, Coco does all that in our house.
Coco's there, She's got the knack for it.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
I can't. She can.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
She does have a knack for it. She sees the
directions and she sees she can view everything the way
it's gonna go. I just don't see what the design
is doing. You know, well you.
Speaker 6 (13:24):
Said it right there. She reads the directions for whatever reason.
It's true. I mean my husband's the same way. Ryan
will take pieces out of the box and start building it.
I'm like, you don't know where that goes because they're
not to figure it out, and somehow there's extra pieces
on the end.
Speaker 5 (13:38):
At the end, there's always this oh where did the
screw go?
Speaker 1 (13:41):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (13:41):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (13:42):
I hate when there's I hate when there's like four
screws that you don't know where they go. But the
furniture's done yep, like it's put together, yes, but there's
four still available, Like, what did I do.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
What's gonna break at some point?
Speaker 1 (13:55):
Yeah, all right, hit us up four four three sixty three.
If you can relate to this in a relationship, you know,
furniture and it can break or make the relationship. All right,
we have a crazy first date. Speaking of relationships, coming
up next.
Speaker 3 (14:08):
More Cobby and Christine in the morning. Just ahead on
one six point seven.
Speaker 2 (14:12):

Speaker 2 (14:17):
Crazy first date and Covey, we've got Run on the phone.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
Good morning, Run, Hi, Good morning everyone. So tell us
about your crazy first date. When did it happen? How'd
you guys meet?
Speaker 4 (14:26):
Okay, well, this took place about thirty years ago, and
it was one of my first dates. And the person
I was with we were heading out east with my
drop top down and we decided to get a quick
bite tea at a fast food spot. So we decided
to do this drive through replace the order. We were talking.
So while we were waiting, this big poop dropped on
(14:49):
her head, on her dress.
Speaker 5 (14:51):
Oh, a bird flew over just at.
Speaker 4 (14:54):
That moment, at that moment, while waiting for our food,
and we were both in shock, and I just said
to her I said, you know, I think this is
good luck and it's a sign. So we ended up
marrying a few years later and had two beautiful kids.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Together, so it was a good sign.
Speaker 4 (15:11):
It was a good sign. But we also got divorced
a few years later, so we were together sixteen years though.
Speaker 1 (15:18):
Okay, I can't tell if we're supposed to be happy
now or sad. I mean, Ron, what should we be
feeling right now?
Speaker 4 (15:24):
Well, you know what, I just spoke to my ex
today because my daughter passed three regions and we have
a great, amazing relationship. We both moved on and we're
one big, happy family.
Speaker 1 (15:35):

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Hold on one second. Yeah, I gotta tell you. I mean,
all the wrong answers were also great answers, but elevator buttons.
Just think of all the fingers that have been on
those buttons.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Okay, and now yuck, Oh my god.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
And you know what, our daughter Naomi has gotten a
little bit better. She understands now what germs are all about.
But every now and then, like it happened, we were
on our way to Rome, and we were at Newark
Airport and we had to take the elevator because we
had so much luggage, and she hit the elevator button
and then scratched her eye, and I'm like, oh, well, yeah, nice, No,
here's the trip. Luckily she was okay, but gosh, sometimes
(17:42):
kids you see them do that and like lick their
fingers after they hit like an elevator button.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on light at them.
Speaker 5 (17:51):
Good morning Christine, Good morning Covey and unfortunate. In another
day of desperate searching, is more than one hundred and
sixty people still missing following that flooding in central Texas.
One hundred and ten people are known to have died
from that Governor Greg Abbott has promised that crews will
not stop until every missing person is accounted for. Some
(18:11):
Amazon sellers are scaling back their Prime Day discounts. They're
blaming type margins and rising costs from President Trump's tariffs.
W NBA superstar Caitlin Clark expected to return to action today.
The Indiana Fever will host the Golden State will host
Golden State. She's been out of service there for a
little while because she suffered a left groin injury two
(18:33):
weeks ago.
Speaker 2 (18:34):
She said she feels pretty.
Speaker 5 (18:35):
Good now, but doctors are telling her make sure you
don't overdo it. And in sports, the Mets beat the
oriol seven to six, Yankees defeated the Mariners ten three,
Liberty beat the Vegas Aces eighty seven seventy eight, and
the Knicks have introduced their new head coach, Mike Brown. Okay,
we seem to have a little theme going this morning.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
Germs.
Speaker 1 (18:53):
A lot of germ talk.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
Here we go.
Speaker 5 (18:55):
How often should you wash your bed sheets? Now we've
been over this many times now, scientists are telling us
you have to think about this. You spend a third
of your life in bed, shedding skin cells, sweat, oils,
microbes every single night. Dust mites, bacteria, fung guy thrive
in unwashed bedding, contributing to allergies, asthma, and unpleasant odors.
Speaker 1 (19:18):
I'm gonna turn your mic off having said that.
Speaker 5 (19:21):
You should be washing your sheets and pillowcases at least
once a week, even more if you're sick or you're
someone who sweats heavily at night or sleeps with pets.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Kristen has her hands in the air. She's cheering. Yeah,
so obviously you do that.
Speaker 6 (19:34):
I knew it was going to be once a week, once.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Every two weeks, maybe no more than two weeks. Bets
