Speaker 1 (00:00):
Six point seven light FM. Good morning, Jack and Christine
and producer Christian this morning, and we're so glad that
you're Friday, which is good news. So it's kind of
it's kind of an iffy weekend, but it's twenty percent,
so I think we're going to have some fun, some sun. Christine,
the pool is open.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I hope the pool is always open.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
The pool is always open.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
Yourself, Yeah, I'm going to show.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
Up one of these days with my rubber ducky.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
I'm going to be in that pool. You're ready to.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Go celebrate Friday? The kids have anything planned? Producer Kristin.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
I'm hoping to spend as much time outside as possible
this weekend.

Speaker 4 (00:37):
So good.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Well, I'm going to be in your both the neck
of the woods, oh, because we're going to do some
Jersey shore.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
What beach did you decide?

Speaker 1 (00:46):
I think we're going to do you really call them
beaches because I'm going to the shore, not the beach,
very distinction. We're gonna go down to event North City,
just south of Atlantic City.

Speaker 2 (00:57):
Yeah that's drive.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yeah, Well, she lives there, so we get to stay
with her and nice and there's an ice cream guy
who goes down the beach and I wait for him,
and you know this guy, Posson, know this guy, And
I don't understand it because the ice cream that comes
out of his box is so hard and frozen that
on a hot day you have to wait twenty minutes
for it, the thought it'll melt to fit into it.

(01:20):
How is that possible?

Speaker 2 (01:22):
That's a good thing though, well it is.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
But the ice cream in my freezers melting as we talk, right,
So I don't understand how that's how that's working about.
I'm looking forward to it. So if you know you
guys are having a cookout or is there anything let
me know.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Well, you have to stop on the way down.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
You want to come with me?

Speaker 5 (01:38):
Yeah, more Covey and Christine and the great music variety
you expect next on light at them.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Pretty cool.

Speaker 5 (01:46):
It's three pretty cool things you need to know, all.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Right, Christine, I think we should mix it up a
little bit this morning. We just came out of Backstreet Boys,
Backstreets Back, So should we let producer Kristen go first.

Speaker 2 (01:57):
I think it's the perfect lead in for Kristin first.

Speaker 3 (01:59):
That's well, Happy Millennium two point zero day, guys. If
you have no idea what I'm talking about, which right,
of course, The Vacshy Boys have released an updated version
of their hit album Millennium that came out in nineteen
ninety nine. So the new album it's out today. It's
the original track list, so you're gonna have larger than
Life I Want It that Way all those songs and

(02:20):
a couple new things, a new songs and B sides,
live version.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
Of song so I Do.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
It's very modern, but it's very backstreet as well. So
there's also an alternate version of I Want It that
Way on this album that people are kind of freaking
out over because they recorded it with different lyrics and
it sounds completely different. Yes, so that's something you want
to check out. They're also making history tonight by being
the first pop artists to perform at the Sphere in Vegas.

(02:48):
They're doing a residency, so nice Happy Backstory.

Speaker 2 (02:51):
Boys, Day Guys and Happy producer Christie.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
This Morning. That's what's pretty amazing.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
That's when you love your show prep well, well this
is not quite as exciting, but it's calming. I think
it's a little zen. If you need to smile, feel inspired,
consider going outside and planting maybe some sunflowers, tomatoes, greenery.
Spending an hour tending to a garden just a couple
of days a week leads to a significant increase in happiness.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Until the deer come along and eat everything.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
We're just trying to have our joy here. I'll share
it with the deer. It's fine, all right.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
And for summertime, you know, we still get cold. We
still get sick in the summer, right sometimes. So what
do you eat well? If you pay attention to nutrients
like vitamin C, D, iron protein, have lots of citrus, fruits, berries, hydration,
the watermelon, cucumbers. You and I were talking about that yesterday.

(03:46):
Christine and celery and cayenne pepper instead of like the
night quill and those things that get you signed to
throw some cayenne pepper on that.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
More covey and the great music variety you expect next on.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Light at that one six point seven m. Good morning.
It is Jack in for Cubby. We have Christine, we
have producer kristin this morning. And it seems like a
lot we talk about in the summer besides the beach
in the shore, is traveling, yeah, going places, I.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Like, just dreaming, just talking about it is great.

Speaker 6 (04:19):
Well.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Yeah, so Travel and Leisure has come out with the
number one city that we like to travel to, and
it's historically been Charleston, South Carolina. I mean since twenty
twelve it has been number one on the list. But
this year it got bumped. Oh yes, it got bumped

(04:40):
by the readers and they voted Santa Fe, New Mexico
the number one city in the US.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
Only went there once as a kid, didn't see much.

Speaker 2 (04:50):
I mean I had been.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
I don't know. I think it's artsy. It's like one
of those San Antonio savannahs. You go there and you know,
you have fancy cocktails and stroll along the ripper or
something like that.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
I'd be fine going to explore it. So Santa Fe
number one. Charleston felt a third place coming in number two,
which I would make a big fave. Is New Orleans
is your favorite?

Speaker 6 (05:15):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (05:15):
It best food on the planet. So then Charleston Savannah.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
You just mentioned Savannah is beautiful, Alexander, take Savannah over Charleston,
I think.

Speaker 2 (05:24):
Hmm, okay, Alexandria Virginia, followed by Honolulu. Come on, anything
in Hawaii. I know, Greenville, South Carolina also beautiful. Here's
New York City. We're in there. We're in the top ten.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
So right now we are in one of the best
vacation spots.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Different microphone huh Asheville.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
North Window Rockets.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Ashville, North Carolina, and Chicago round out the top ten.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Chicago's on a bucket list. I've never been.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Oh it's nice. Yes, that's probably other than New York.
The only other city I've been to on the list.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
I've never been there, or La, and I'd like to
see both, And you're both looking at me.

Speaker 2 (06:09):
Love La so much, but I haven't been to Chicago.
We need to make a road trip. Let's plan it.

Speaker 4 (06:13):
Let's do it.

Speaker 5 (06:14):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
Next on Light at that.

Speaker 1 (06:19):
One six point seven FM, Jack and Christine and producer
Kristen and we are celebrating today one of our favorite foods.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
It's National French fri Day.

Speaker 1 (06:29):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
So yes, there's some good deals from I think all
of our favorite places McDonald's, Shake Shack, RB's, Wendy's, Burger King,
you name it. There are some free French fries happening today.

Speaker 1 (06:43):
So we can go sample a few here and there.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Definitely just have to make sure you use the apps. Okay,
that's how you get your free fry deals.

Speaker 1 (06:51):
So I got to download all these apps so I
can eat all these frides.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
I already have them.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
Jack, my daughter has him. I send her out. She goes, Dad,
you want fries? Yeah, it's sent them out.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
You want fries with that? Oh? In white Castle? Let
me not forget white castles off?

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Do you?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Guys?

Speaker 1 (07:06):
You have white Castle in New Jersey a few places
because they're disappearing on Long Island.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
Oh, I'm sorry. I know they're a beautiful thing. We've
lost a couple we have. We have to take a
drive to get to a white castle.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
We can get them in grocery stores, but not the fries,
just the little burgers.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
I mean, if you need to fix yes.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
I don't want to. I don't want to jump in this.
We do have a second. But I went to a
wedding two weekends ago Christine, where the bride was a
white Castle fan. And before dinner all the lord dervs
there was a white castle stand manned by somebody who
was making fresh white Castle. Wow.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
Okay, look at that very nice. Yes, he hated that bride.

Speaker 5 (07:49):
Cobby and Christine in the morning More next on one
six point seven Light.

Speaker 1 (07:53):
At that it's Jack and Christine. Producer Kristin, thank you
so much for having us on. So uh now we're
trying to figure out whether or not Hugh Jackman is
allowed back in Wimbledon.

Speaker 2 (08:03):
Is he Hugh Jackman's fine, He's fine. Hugh Grant, who's
basically been bands. Yeah, my wife.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Loves Hugh Jackman, so that I think Hugh. I think
Jackman's clear.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
He's in the clear. And I tell you, but Hugh Grant.
This has gone a little viral because ESPN camera's caught
Hugh Grant at Wimbledon dozing off and he was a
guest of Queen Camilla. He was sitting in her box
when he fell asleep, and he's like leaning to the
side like he's full on asleep. You can't fake it.

(08:34):
She supposedly is so upset she never would invite him again.
That supposedly she was mortified because he was snoring. So
I don't think he's on the guest list.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Oh he went really down. He wasn't just nodding like
I'm really tired, I've been doing all that.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
He just oh, he was down for the chemt he
was dreaming. Yeah, he was bye bye, which was reminding me,
and I was asking you, guys, have you ever fallen
asleep anywhere inappropriate? So wait, we're going back a few
years back. A few years I took a good friend
of mine, Greg Charles, publicist from Caroline's on Broadway, to
the movie premiere of ties In with Hugh Grant. Hugh

(09:10):
Grant and Julia Roberts had a movie called Nodding Hill. Yes,
I took Greg Charles to this premiere. Julia Roberts. The
Julia Roberts was sitting about two rows behind us. Greg
Charles fell asleep in the middle of the movie. Oh,
fell asleep like you Grant at Wimbledon, slumped over, snoring

(09:30):
the works like noticeable. Oh like yes, but the.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Movie theater is one. I mean it gets dark in there.
The seats are kind of comfy. There's a little bit
of a.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Past movie premiere and Julia Roberts, Yeah, I would have
said to this day we refer to Nodding Hill as
nodding Off Charles. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
My college graduation, I had to be nudged when they
called my name. Oh I had fallen asleep.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
Well, you know, four years of being super tired.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
And staying up all night to finish work.

Speaker 2 (10:02):
But you made it all that.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
No dose really took its toll. Anything. You're a mom,
you must be nodding off all the time.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
Falsleep right now in the middle of this break propper up.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Uh. The one topper is my father falls asleep at
the dentist chair. They could be dying their own way,
and he they have to wake him up when he's done.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
WHOA, I wish I could do it.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
I know everybody. That's a That's a feat that we
all want to learn more.

Speaker 5 (10:31):
Covey and Christine and the great music variety you expect
next on Light at Them. It's Covey and Grissinees. Crazy
first Date.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
We're talking with Amy. Good morning, Amy, Good morning. Okay,
we want to hear about your crazy first date. How
did you guys meet? When did it happen?

Speaker 6 (10:49):
Well, we met a long time ago in ninth grade,
but we were connected in college and our first date
was over hel net via computer typing?

Speaker 7 (10:59):
Do you know I kind of remember that? Was it
like a green screen? Like tellt yes?

Speaker 6 (11:06):
Basically what happened was, since we were doing long distance,
he was trying to be nice and showing his interests
by sending me flowers all the way from Syracuse, and
he somehow found a vocal Flora and he was like, oh,
expect something. I got you something. I said, great, So

(11:29):
I showed up at the student union for a dozen
white roses with some chocolate. And I'm thinking to myself,
oh gosh, because I told him, did you know white
is death in Asian culture?

Speaker 2 (11:43):
But you're alive and well you had to break it
to him right that you appreciated the gesture, but it
didn't quite work.

Speaker 6 (11:49):
Yes, I had to tell him on tell Net. He's like, oh, no,
I meant to send you a half a dozen red roses.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
So what happened? Did you end up talking with him
again or did you kind of just let the relationship go?

Speaker 4 (12:00):
No?

Speaker 6 (12:01):
Actually he's my husband. We have two kids together.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Oh, clearly it worked it out.

Speaker 6 (12:06):
Yes, after we realized we have to talk about our
cultural differences because he's obviously not Asian.

Speaker 7 (12:12):
It's well, we have a dozen white roses for you.
Now we have something even better. Amy for sharing your story, Christine,
what are we gonna give her?

since the floodwaters took Central Texas by surprise, and at
least one hundred and twenty people have been confirmed dead.
We still have over one hundred and sixty people missing.
President Trump and the First Lady expected to visit the
area today. Also, President Trump says he's imposing a thirty

(14:15):
five percent tariff on Canada beginning next month. He said
it comes as part of a response to Canada's retaliation
and ongoing trade barriers. In the letter, he went on
to accuse Canada failing to cooperate on key issues, including
the flow of fentanyl into the US. It looks like

(14:35):
Superman is going to be a huge hit at the
box office this weekend, because it's already bringing in twenty
one million dollars. And that's just in previews. And we'll
be talking to our friend Harry Medved in Hollywood very
soon so he can tell us how the reviews are.
And that in sports, Yankees beat the Mariners six'. Five
mets lost both games yesterday against The orioles three to

one and seven to. Three and if you want a better,
relationship according to the, experts just start texting your. Spouse
Reachers researchers found that sending, positive affectionate text messages to
your romantic partner creates a more positive. Relationship and it's
not just that happier couple send more positive, messages but

(15:16):
that sending the messages actually helps to create a better.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
Anytime, yeah she looks like she was born with a
surfboard under her. Arm but you bring a little piece
Of hollywood to us On fridays and let us know
what's new in the. Theaters AND i, mean this is
a cool summer season that we're having right. Now superman,
opening we're hearing it's already bringing in a lot of.

Speaker 8 (16:25):
Money, yeah it's already a.

Speaker 9 (16:28):
Record it's the biggest preview opening of the year so.
Far it's twenty one million. Dollars and it's you, KNOW
i represent the movie theaters and we're just on our.
Role it's not only are the theaters investing in themselves
for the, future they're spending two point two billion dollars
and upgrading the cinema so they're more. Exciting you, know better,
facilities better, screens better, sound.

Speaker 2 (16:46):
And popcorn buckets by the, way.

Speaker 4 (16:49):
There you get on popcorn.

Speaker 9 (16:50):
Buckets, yeah but, no it's it's exciting that when you
actually have movies that people want to, see and just
every weekend there's a big. One So, SUPERMAN i, KNOW
i saw it last night with a regular audience instead
of Who win advance screening and.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Wanted to see what the paying public, thought and we
all loved.

Speaker 9 (17:04):
It the reviews are actually pretty. Good it's like eighty
five percent On Rotten. TOMATOES i think as much AS
i Loved Lois lane And superman, TOGETHER i thought the
chemistry of Racial brazenahan And david Corn sweat who Plays,
superman it was, terrific completely palpable for. Me the person
who stole the, movie or the person the being that
stole the movie was a.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
Dog it's like the greatest dog.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
EVER i can't the. Dog, seriously you love the. Dog
crypto is the.

Speaker 9 (17:29):
Dog, Yeah crypto is the. Dog he's kind of a
mud kind of A. Schnauzer but he is based on the,
Director James gunn's real life dog that he, adopted who
he said is the worst dog in the world because
he just keeps biting. Everybody so that's what this dog
does that's a superhero kind of. Dog, yeah, exactly that's
what you. Want it really comes in handy in this.
Movie and WHAT i love about The superman he's so.

(17:50):
Vulnerable you, know the very beginning of the movie starts
right in the middle of the action where he's actually
lost a. Battle i'm not giving. Anything it is the
first minute of the. Film but where the dog you've
seen in the, trailer the dog pulls him to. Safety
But superman is knocked around quite a bit in this,
movie so you gotta be prepared for. That one, Thing,
christine you would love knowing you is that this is
really about a guy who's a force of, good who

(18:12):
is just dedicated to the goodness of. Mankind oh and
it's kind of almost punk, rock as he says, It
it's like people aren't like that these. Days he's just
it's a throwback to the nineteen seventy Eight Christopher Reeves.
Superman so you like that, MOVIE i think you'll like
this New.

Speaker 4 (18:25):
Superman we're.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Going we are definitely. Going and so if we're if
we need to catch up a little BIT f One Jurassic.

Speaker 9 (18:34):
Oh, yeah and The. Rats a lot of dinosaur action
and a lot of, fun BUT f one's. Terrific you,
know it's if you Likes Top Gun. Maverick people are
calling this Top Gun maverick on wheels because it's pretty
much the same story from the same director and the
same producer with an aging, pilot in this, case a
driver who is a maverick who comes back to his
sport and mentors a whole bunch of young. Hotshots and

(18:55):
that's that's. One instead Of Tom cruise Is Brad. Pitt
but it is terrific. Fun, yeah you'll take, bad but
the action is just terrific and it's just never lets.
Up for like two and a half. Hours you were
constantly on the edge of your seat BECAUSE i actually
shot AT f One races where you, KNOW i took
my father in, law WHO i think is eighty years
old now and he doesn't like.

Speaker 8 (19:17):
Movies they were is too much. Talking he smile on
his F oh it was his kind of.
