Speaker 1 (00:00):
I want to six pointy seven Light FM Covey Christine

(00:02):
producer Kristen Happy Monday, the final week before we kick
into Memorial Day weekend. Wow, I still can't get over it.
The we're here, let's do this. And I heard it's
supposed to be kind of like not great weather.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Weather's been strange, hasn't It.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Been a little up and down? Right? It's a beautiful
weekend though, right, I mean we were in we have
a little getaway home in Pennsylvania. We were there. Usually
the weather is about the same here, we're two hours west,
but it was blue sky Saturday and Sunday. Did you
have some cloud cover here of a weekend?

Speaker 2 (00:31):
We did a little on Saturday and then yeah, we're okay.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
Yeah, Christians like, don't ask me. I was inside for
two days.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
I was.

Speaker 3 (00:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
I was heard what your so your husband puts puts
together something called.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
Horror con Yes, New Jersey Horricon, New Jersey Horricon. It's
a horror convention kind of like comic con, but we
focused more on like the horror aspect of it.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
And you did it in Atlantic City.

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Yes, in Atlantic City. Yeah, it went well.

Speaker 1 (00:55):
Give great. Give me an example of like somebody famous
that you had.

Speaker 4 (00:59):
There this this past weekend Leda Ford. You know who
Leida Ford is, the singer famous.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Yeah, yeah, oh she had this big hit. Hang on
a second, I did. I had to cover up something,
no big thing. She just went went to a party
last Saturday night. Didn't get Yeah yeah, you know, a

(01:25):
little romantic there. So she was there. But she's not scary.
She's not.

Speaker 4 (01:30):
So it's not all like exact horror. We have pop
culture and I mean we've had D. Snyder when we
want to talk about music, we've had D Snyder. Peter
Cris from Kiss, we've had him as well. So it's
not like just pure horror celebrities.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
But but you do like you had the original, not
one of the originals. I guess you did have one
of the original. Jason's right, Jason.

Speaker 4 (01:51):
We had two of them. Yeah, we had to two
of the Caine Hotter and c. J. Graham they both
played uh Jason in some of the movies. They were
a big Yet a lot of people they have like
a cult following, you know, and a lot of people
come out and they want to get you know, their posters, signs,
their Jason masks signed. So Yeah, they had a lot
of people for them, and some people from the movie

(02:13):
from the Chucky movies.

Speaker 1 (02:14):
Huh.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
Yeah, so it was. It was a great weekend. Leatherface
two from Texas Chainsaw the original guy Brett Wagner's I
think I know, maybe I don't know. See you know
this is more of my husband's thing.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Well, yeah, that's true, that's true. You did a darn
good job of helping him out.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
I'll tell you that, thank you.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Did you put the kids to work like Haven'm run
the lines?

Speaker 4 (02:37):
My son Jagger, Wow, I've never seen him one more
focused and two unlike his best behavior, he was a
great help this weekend. Yes, he was wonderful.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Well, it's all about horror pretty much. At the box office,
Final Destination Bloodlines was number one over the weekend, made
fifty one million dollars, followed by Thunderbolts at number two. Christine,
would you do you ever go to horror movies? Yeah?
You're not like a huge fan, right, yeah? Either my Yeah,
it's like I like the classics, right. If an old
Fight of the thirteenth is on TV, I might watch it,

(03:11):
but I won't go to the theater anymore to watch
a horror movie.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
To intense for me.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yeah, we have enough stress in our lives. Three pretty
cool things.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
Next, starting at a twenty three hours of commercial free
NonStop music.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Light Out.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
That Them is New York's most music more variety station.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
It's three pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Things you need to know? Do you know who Jonathan is?
Jonathan is the world's oldest living land animal. Jonathan is
a turtle, and Jonathan currently lives on the British island
of Saint Helena, And it's in the Guinness Book of

(03:55):
World Records and right now currently the turtle was gifted
back in the early nineteen hundreds to the then governor,
So this turtle now roams the grounds of the governor's
mansion over there in the British Island of Saint Helena.
But man, what's twenty twenty five minus one ninety two?
Is that like eighteen thirty three? Yeah, eighteen thirty three.

(04:17):
I think this turtle was born.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Wow, man, he must have some stories for us. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
I think he has a pension. He's still a good
money now. Yeah, what's your cool thing, Christine?

Speaker 2 (04:30):
Well, if you suffer from migraines, there's a trend going
around the Internet, and it's called the McGrain, the mic
migraine meal. Just go to McDonald's and cure your migraine.
Here's what you order, a large coke and a large fry.
And I'm willing to try it. Doctor said, Well, here's
why it's working. It's actually working. You're getting a dosa caffeine,

(04:52):
which we know helps migraines. You get salt, which is
the electrolytes, and you get fries which have tons of
carbs and sometimes that's what you need when the migraine
is coming on.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
All right, tomorrow at this time Burger King's remedy, we'll
have Burger King's remedy. All the fast food chain's gonna
put out their remedies.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
A pretty smart Kristin, you're up with your cool thing. Okay,
So can you guys guess what the best holiday is
to have outdoor cooking like a barbecue.

Speaker 2 (05:18):
What's happening, Well, I.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Mean Memorial the weekend is this weekend. I'm thinking you
saw a story involving this weekend, right, so.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
That would be my guess as well. It's not. Fourth
of July is actually the number one holiday in the
best holiday for barbecue cooking. Mainly because of the weather.
But Memorial Day is in second so it is coming up,
and actually, I don't know. Is it going to be
chilly this weekend?

Speaker 1 (05:40):
That's what I'm hearing. That's right. Yeah, like it's not
going to be eighty five and sunny, but that's okay.

Speaker 2 (05:45):
You guys can still get out there and grill.

Speaker 4 (05:47):
Yeah, yeah it So I'll.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Think more Covey and Christine and the great music variety
you expect next on light at them.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
What the heck is a La boo boo? It's one
of six point seven light FM and producer Kristen. That
was not La Boo Boo. That was Gracie Abrams. But
you ladies are informing me about something I didn't know about.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Well we you think you better find out? Apparently, yes,
because you have you obviously you have Naomi, yes, who
likes toys, and you have Coco, who's your wife, who's
like really good with trendy.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
Stuff and finding things are hard to find.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Hard to find, and this is kind of it. This
is having a moment. They're called la boom boos.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
L A b u b u and what exactly are they?

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Hey, Look, there are a cross between a doll and
a little monster kind.

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Of like a plushing toy character.

Speaker 4 (06:37):
Yes, yeah, pretty much. I mean what do you do?

Speaker 1 (06:40):
You attach them to things?

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Some are toys, just like regular standalone toys. Some are
key chains.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
Yep.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Yeah, they're just.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
They're just these little trendy little monster dolls. And I'm
very confused as to why they're so popular.

Speaker 2 (06:54):
They took off. It's like Rihanna has them attached to
her bag, and so does Stu Alipa.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
And then a few celebs put them on and.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
You see the celebs. Yeah, and then you go online
and you try and get them, and some are very
hard to get. And it looks like it started, uh
with Black Pink Lisa. We were playing her song, you
know from White Lotus. Yeah, she had one, she had
a toy, and she had a keychain on her bag.
April twenty twenty four, and that's kind of where this started.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
All right, Well, so they're a little like.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
There are a cross between a monster and a doll.

Speaker 1 (07:26):
Yeah, two d and twenty days until Christmas, so this
could be you might want to jump on this now, right.

Speaker 4 (07:31):
Well, if you can get your hands on them, because
they're already hard to find they're very hard to find.
They're sold Outcuse I think a pop mark is where
they're officially released. I believe, right. I mean you can
find knockoffs obviously.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Yeah, Canal Street. There's a Lebobo there you go, all right,
but Lea Boo Boo is what you want to search
for because that is already hard to find.

Speaker 2 (07:54):
Now there, now you know.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
Yeah, more Covey and Christine and a great music variety
you expect next on Light at.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
Them, Christine, I want to talk about Eric, your drummer fiance,
and the connection with Lona del Ring.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Oh my goodness, so close.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
So Taylor Swift and Lona del Ray, you're two favorite artists.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Those are my girls.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
We've let everyone know that, yes, but Lona del Ray's
really probably close to number one.

Speaker 4 (08:20):
For you, right right?

Speaker 2 (08:21):
So Eric had he was really busy this weekend with
gigs and it was rough getting around New Jersey. Transit
trains aren't running. I mean I felt for him. He
was all over Brooklyn and he was everywhere. He's really
struggling to get some places. Finally gets to one of
his gigs and he thought what could go wrong? Like
he was there, he was on time, he was happy,
hits a carry as snare snare drum down the stairs

(08:45):
and it fell and broke, like the part that you hit,
you know, wow, so you just can't the head the drumhead, well,
I bet.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Going down the stairs it sounded.

Speaker 2 (08:55):
Good and it broke, and so they had an emergency
because the gig was about to start. So the band
leader said, it's okay. I got a guy, you know,
he's in the neighborhood. He'll run a snare drum over
here and you'll be okay. So the guy comes over
and he sets up a snare drum for Eric and
I thank you, thank you, thank you so much. And

(09:15):
he barely had time to thank the guy and the
guy left, and then he asked the band leader. He said,
who was that? And he said, oh, that was Anna
del Ray's drummer, And I.

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Was like, wait what what that is?

Speaker 2 (09:27):
Hang on a second, because came back.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
The running joke around here is, you know, we have
the privilege of meeting a lot of celebrities, and you've
had a couple of chances to meet Lana Delray, but
you never have, and that could have been your.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
In Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm so close. Does that
make me six degrees or even closer if he was
playing the drums.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
Right, Eric's playing a drum that was on.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Like Lnna del Ray's albums albums right with her drummer.
How close am I to? Very close?

Speaker 4 (09:58):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Right, Mike had three degrees.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
We're pretty tight. Now that's we should be best friends.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
Now, what did you say to Eric, by the way,
when he told you the story?

Speaker 2 (10:07):
You know, I always get like, did you talk to him?

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Did?

Speaker 2 (10:11):
She's like no, we just dropped it off and he
had to go, and you know, Eric's busy with his gig.

Speaker 1 (10:15):
He goes.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
But I know, I know you would love that. That's
just playing like technically playing Lona Delaire's drums.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
More Cubby and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on light at them.

Speaker 1 (10:25):
There is a proper way to shower.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
The dermatol is just have spoken.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Okay, yeah, let's see if we're doing it right.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
Okay, what do you What part do you watch first
when you step in the shower.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
Well, even though I don't have much hair left, I
still start with you know, well, first of all, I
get soaking wet, yes, nice and steamy, and then I
do shampoos okay, shampoo very good.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Do the hair Kristin, you do the same right, the
champy okay. So apparently we're onto something because the dermatol
just say start with the shampoo. So first thing you
want to do yet in the shower, you shampoo, and
then you put your conditioner in and that gives it
a little time to soak in there.

Speaker 1 (11:03):
I skip that part, the conditioner part really don't need it, shocks.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
And then it also gives it time to rinse out
completely because for some people it leaves a little film
behind and if you have sensitive skin, that could bother you.
Step two. Now we lather up our body after our hair,
it's time to wash the bod. They say, unless you've
been really sweating your dirty one full scrub will do over.
Washing can strip your skin's natural barrier and leave you

(11:30):
with dry, itchy skin. So gentle cleanser, make sure you
wash everything, uh huh, including the bottom of your feet.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
That's always a big debate. Do you actually scrub and
you know, hose down the bottom of your feet or
you let the soap just take care of everything as
it trickles down and the water hits it.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
Anyway, is that something you do pretty much?

Speaker 1 (11:50):
Okay, I very rarely put my foot up in the
air and like scrub it and rub it.

Speaker 2 (11:55):
Scrub it and rub it. I think it's time.

Speaker 1 (11:57):
Should I be doing that, because again, the feet are
getting all the water, all the soap. Yeah, come and
ride it down right.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
I want to do a little deliberate Yeah, just a
little deliberate wash. Then you can shave. So after you've
done all this, and now you shave because now your
skin is warmed up and the hair follicles are easier
to remove, and you're less likely to get razor burn
or irritation. And last thing is you don't want to
spend more than five to ten minutes in there because

(12:27):
that hot water strips your skin of natural oils and
if you have eggzma or anything like that, it'll make
it worse.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:32):
Well, we have something called the Everything shower, and that
takes a little bit more than five to ten minutes.
I think, no, really, I don't know. Sometimes I'm in
there for like twenty minutes.

Speaker 1 (12:42):
Really, I'm like seven.

Speaker 4 (12:43):
I like to take my time. Listen, it's time away
from the case.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
I think that's your yes, exactly, your escape time.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
Cow gone, take me away. How about you, Christine? How
long are you in the shower?

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Not that long, probably less than ten probably ten ish?

Speaker 1 (12:57):
Yeah, yeah, wow, all right.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Yeah, I'm I move pretty fast.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
And by the way, we're all nighttime shower people.

Speaker 2 (13:06):
Chus, which also is I know Christen twice a day,
but also supposedly that really healthy for us, especially this
time of year with all the pollen. So you're supposed
to wash off before you go to bed, so you
don't like take that into bed with you.

Speaker 1 (13:18):
You don't want to pollen on your pillow exactly. All right,
we're coming right back with a crazy first date. If
you have a story for us, hook us up at
four four three six three.

Speaker 3 (13:26):
More music and more covy and Christine coming up one
o six point seven.

Speaker 1 (13:31):
Light at them now the.

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Nearly impossible question call.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Eight hundred two two two one o six seven. All right, Christine,
it's Monday. Can we make today like an easy one?
Like what's one plus one?

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Sort of?

Speaker 1 (13:45):
All right, let's make people think, here we go, it.

Speaker 2 (13:47):
Could be easy. Forty eight percent of people look forward
to this every day.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
Forty eight percent of people look forward to this every day.
All right, first, correct caller one one hundred two two
two one O six seven. We have a pair of
tickets for you to check out the Last five Years,
starring Grammy Award nominee Nick Jonas and Tony Award winner
Adrian Warren on Broadway through June twenty second only. You
can buy tickets at the Last five Years Broadway dot

(14:13):
com or win them right now if you get this right, Cabby.

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Forty eight percent of people look forward to this every.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Day line thirty no's home the ride home. Well, what's
your name? Andrea? Andrea? You're checking out the last five
years on Broadway. It's I've heard great, thanks Christine. This
is a great show, right.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
I'd love to see it.

Speaker 1 (14:36):
Yeah, thank you. Hold on one second. Yeah, we've been
you haven't seen it, but you've read the reviews too.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Yes, I'd like to see the things. Yeah, a lot.
There's been great choices this season and this is this
is a standout.

Speaker 1 (14:48):
Yeah. I feel like like Broadway is kind of hot.
Oh yeah, it's always hot, extra hot.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
Yeah, it is more Covey and Christine and the great
music variety you expect next on light at them.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
Hey, if you're out, they're the dating world. Are you
flood lighting somebody. That's a new term. I never heard
of it. But flood lighting, explain Christine what it means.

Speaker 2 (15:08):
May I want to avoid this because it would it
has the possibility of backfiring. So floodlighting is oversharing in
the beginning, you know, the first couple of dates. It's
kind of cool if you seem vulbnerable and open, right,
But psychologists are saying take it easy because if you
start going into past traumas, relationship drama, mental health struggles, yes,

(15:31):
a lot of people may relate to it, but in
the beginning that could scare the person off. So you
may be thinking, oh, we're making a deep connection because look,
we have this stuff in common. But that might be
a lot right for the person you're dating. Right in
the beginning, don't flood light time?

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Do a flashlight just yeah, just a little bit, a
little bit, maybe a little a laser pointer, Yeah, enough
to show.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
That you know, you're sensitive, you're you've been through some stuff,
You've got life experience. Probably connect but little by little
share of that stuff.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
Yeah. That makes sense though, because I used to think
over sharing you couldn't go wrong, right, You can't go
because you're showing what you're all about. You're open and bubble,
but it really can shut the other person down, you ken.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Maybe they think it's a little too much, or they
feel they have to help you in the way like
a therapist would help you, and that's not the role
that they're looking for.

Speaker 1 (16:23):
Right Well, that leads us to this, if you've ever
been on a crazy first date, because again, if we
put you on the air tomorrow morning at seven twenty five,
we have tickets all week long for Halsey, She'll be
in town on June first and June sixth. You're going
to pick the show that you want to go to,
and we'll give you tickets if we end up using
you on the air. If you want to share a
story with us, all you have to do is say hey,

(16:45):
I got a story for you, and text us at
four four, three, six three and we'll get you on
the air.

Speaker 3 (16:51):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on Light at.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Them Monday, May nineteenth. It's Cubby and Christine and Christine
has all your news.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Christine, Good morning, Covey. New Jersey Transit says striking train
engineers have reached a tentative agreement to bring the three
day strike to an end. Unfortunately, they can't get up
and running till tomorrow morning. But this is definitely much
much better news. The Obamas are among those sending well
wishes to President Biden following news of his cancer diagnosis.

(17:20):
He's been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer
that has spread to his bones, and doctors are saying
they're looking for the best angle of treatment. At the moment,
seven inmates are on the run after breaking out of
a New Orleans jail. This was on Friday. It looks
like there is a reward of up to twenty thousand
dollars per inmate if you can give the FBI some

(17:41):
info that helps them to find them. They say, these
guys are very, very dangerous. Sean diddy Comb's sex trafficking
and racketeering trial continues today here in Manhattan. In sports,
the Knicks did beat the Celtics on Friday night one,
nineteen eighty one, so they are moving On Wednesday. They
are going to be facing the PA Subway Series. Last night,

(18:02):
Yankees beat the Mets eight two, so they take two
out of the three to two to one for the
series NYCFC defeated the Red Bulls to nothing. And how
do we plan for our first date? Well, guys, I
think a lot of it's on you. Women expect men
to come up with the plans for the first date
just about everything. Most women want the guy to lead

(18:24):
the dating dance. They expect him to ask her out,
to suggest the dating activity and logistics, and lead the
conversation and if and when the time is right, most
women want the man to make the first romantic move.
