Speaker 1 (00:00):
One six point seven Light FM, Good morning six oh nine.
You got Cubby, Christine producer Christen. You have many options,
many choices. You picked us, and we thank you for that.
If we were in your car right now, we'd hug you,
we'd squeeze you.
Speaker 2 (00:12):
It's virtual hug.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
Yeah, virtual hug. A Happy National oat Meal Day. Do
you start your day with oatmeal? I sure don't. I
don't like oatmeal. I know when you start your day, well,
Christine really kicks it off with yogurt.
Speaker 2 (00:26):
Oh yeah, that's pretty exciting.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
Huh, that's around eight thirty good healthy choice.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Though, Oh thank you.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
You don't have anything to eat before that, do you?
Speaker 3 (00:32):
No?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
All right, maybe I should.
Speaker 1 (00:34):
Krista, what have you had so far this morning?
Speaker 4 (00:36):
I actually made myself a breakfast sandwich nice last night?
Yeah I was able to do that. Normally I take
like the scraps from the kids food that they're going
to eat for breakfast, but the leftover.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Yeah, would I smelt down the hall because I remember
coming down the hall towards your little cubicle area. That
smells good. That was your sandwich? Okay, all right, cocoa
gave me a banana?
Speaker 2 (00:54):
Oh just a banana. She gives you a sandwich.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
She makes me a nice sandwich, right, and we're going
to bed. Last night she kissed me on the cheek
and she goes by the way. There's a banana right
by the coffee machine, and you can take that tomorrow morning.
I took it. It was all beat up. It was
like black as can be.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Somebody had to yeah, but I had to eat. It
was your little Hello Kitty sandwich tray. She didn't.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Oh no, yeah. Usually I have like Miles or Naomis
on tupperware with their names on them, and she'll put
the sandwich in that. But nothing. Today it's National Hermit Day.
Sometimes you just want to be alone. That's today. Yeah,
every day for a lot of them. And finally a
National Cat Day. Christine, didn't we just talk about this?
Speaker 2 (01:31):
It was a National black Cat Day.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Different a couple of days ago.
Speaker 2 (01:34):
It's your love for the black cats, yes, but today
it's all the kiddies.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
Yeah, adopt okay if you can.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Yes, absolutely, we love our kitties. There's such love.
Speaker 1 (01:44):
And even though I love dogs, dogs have killed fourteen
people in the last twenty five years. What how about
that for a transition. Wow, I'm literally reading a story
right here. I did some research. Since the year two thousand,
dogs have shot fifteen people in the US shot them.
In every incident, the dog was near a loaded weapon
(02:05):
and accidentally stepped on it and discharge and discharged it.
So yet, I mean, but cats can kill people too.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
He has yet to do that.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
But they'll do the figure eight around your legs sometimes
and try to trip you up.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
I love you so much, and then you don't know
they're there to give me.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
A weird look.
Speaker 4 (02:23):
You don't need any more pets alone.
Speaker 1 (02:28):
Interesting fact though, right, Yes, since the year two thousand,
fourteen people have been shot by dogs. Oh my goodness.
Speaker 4 (02:37):
Well, I guess that's not your pretty cool thing, right,
that's a pretty awful thing.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
We do have three pretty cool things, and I think
we're going to wow you. Coming up next.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Cobby and Christine in the morning. More next on one
six point seven light a fountain.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
It's three pretty cool things you need to know.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Pretty cool story here about exercising. Recent research suggests that
taking a longer walk each day is more beneficial for
heart health than multiple short strolls. The study indicates that
walking for at least fifteen continuous minutes about fifteen hundred
steps provides a better workout for the heart. There were
thirty four thousand adults in the study over the age
of forty. They did it over eight years, and the
(03:17):
researchers found that those who walked in longer stretches had
a lower risk of heart problems compared to those who
walked in short bursts.
Speaker 2 (03:24):
Okay, get out there, we can do it.
Speaker 1 (03:26):
Yes, what do you have? Christine? Is your cool thing?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
We have a newly discovered Doctor Seus's book and it's
about the US, and it's going to be in stores
just in time for America's two hundred and fiftieth birthday.
The book is titled Sing the Fifty States. It'll be
released on June TEWOD twenty twenty six, and aims to
teach young readers the names of each US state using
the author's trademark wordplay and classic illustrations.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Can't go wrong with Doctor SEUs.
Speaker 2 (03:52):
Love that?
Speaker 1 (03:53):
Yeah, that's awesome? All right, Christin, you have a cool thing?
Speaker 2 (03:55):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (03:56):
Part two of Wicked that comes out November twenty first
Dunk teaming up with the movie, they're going to release
a full Wicked menu on November fifth, and it's going
to include a wicked munchkin tin. It's going to be
filled with old fashioned glazed munchkins, fully coated in green
and pink sprinkles. It almost looks like one of those
(04:16):
old school like sewing tins, remember those, And it says
Munchkins on it, and it's decorated and green and pink.
It's gonna be like a cool collector's ideas. You can
only get it with the munchkins inside, though, so you
can't buy it separately.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
But I'll have no problem getting those munchkins my belly.
All right. Three pretty cool things right here on LNEFM.
Speaker 3 (04:37):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
Next on light at Them.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Well sixty seven light FM. Good morning. It is six
thirty seven day, October twenty ninth. Cobby, Christine, producer Kristen
and we made it. You know what, we love doing
field trips around here. We got to get you a costco.
That's one thing, Christine. Yes, we did the Sound Exchange
field trip.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
Yeah that's the record store. Yeah we did that in
New Jersey.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
That was fun. Now I want to check out this
brand new grocery cart that I just heard from Kristen. Yeah,
so where is this?
Speaker 4 (05:10):
Okay, So this is in Clark, New Jersey. It's at
the shop right. I found a video on TikTok last
night of a girl filming her shopping cart, which sounds ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
Right.
Speaker 4 (05:19):
It's an AI shopping cart pretty much. And what you
do is you put your groceries inside your cart, and
the cart scans what you're putting inside.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
I love it.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
So you don't have to unload at the cash register,
or you don't have to check out yourself. The cart
does it for you. I have never heard of this
or I have seen it before.
Speaker 1 (05:40):
Shopright, Clark, New Jersey. Yes, if anybody knows about this
or have seen it, give us a text at four
four three sixty three.
Speaker 4 (05:46):
But apparently this is a thing, because of course I
went to the comments section because I needed to know more.
And there are a bunch of shop rights within New Jersey,
at least New Jersey, maybe even here in New York.
I don't know that offer. This not my shop right
for sure either. But yeah, yeah we don't have that.
We have let's see, our shop rate does not have that.
Our stopping shop has those little you know, the little
(06:08):
guns and you can scan as you guys like, yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
And don't they have that robot that will come down.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
What is his name is? Martin Marty?
Speaker 1 (06:17):
I first heard about that through Christine.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Marty was always in my way.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Yeah, you sent me a text like years ago, maybe
two years ago, three years ago.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
Artie's watching me, mighty move.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
Does Marty do anything? Does he think? Does he answer?
Speaker 2 (06:28):
He's supposed to alert when there's like a spill. He
doesn't do the cleaning. He doesn't do the cleaning. He
just says, hey, people get over here. Clean.
Speaker 1 (06:37):
So back to this cart. You literally just go down
the aisle, you pick what you want, Say, you get
a box of cereal, you put it in the grocery cart.
It just goes babe like it automatically knows what it is.
And then you do you know, if you check out
with a human?
Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yeah, do you stop?
Speaker 4 (06:51):
I'm not one hundred percent sure.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
I just going from that one TikTok video.
Speaker 4 (06:55):
Right in the video there was a screen on the
cart handle, So I assume that yes, exactly exactly.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
But already you could just like tap and go like
your credit card and you're done.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
I have.
Speaker 4 (07:07):
I have no idea, but there's someone already texted in.
Nina Weight said, there's Shopwright and Wayne has it.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Oh look, yes we're ste Island six four six Stanton
Allen has those carts. It's wonderful.
Speaker 1 (07:21):
Look, I think it's cool and I'm kind of into it.
But is it going to be right all the time?
Is it gonna exactly be born in favor of me?
Maybe it's gonna benefit me. Maybe it's gonna get a
lot of things wrong and I'm walking down of the
air some free stuff, or it's gonna usually doesn't go
in that direction, directors. Usually it might make an error
towards the shop.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Like this is on sale. See well one good morning.
I have that grocery cart in shop right in Bloomfield.
I could go over there and check it out. Guys,
Eric and I have to do with shopping trips. I'll
go to Bloomfield.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
Yeah, I gotta tell you those carts must be expensive too.
You know you leave them outside after you're done and
it rains and all that. Oh yeah, this sounds like
you have like a computer malfunctions. They're gonna have to
make sure they take care of those things, right.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Nine seven three says our shop right, tried those cards there, miss,
they make many mistakes. See they're already roped off and
not being used, and you don't check out with a human.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah, I feel like it's a great idea. But is it?
Is it perfect? Yeah? Is it cool?
Speaker 2 (08:18):
What about Covey you had mentioned what about fruit? Like,
what if you're buying fruit and veggies and it's got
to be weighed?
Speaker 1 (08:23):
Is there a scale in there too?
Speaker 2 (08:25):
That's a good question. Like where you would put miles,
you lift him out and now you put like apples? Yeah,
see how much?
Speaker 1 (08:32):
Or maybe you have to weigh them before? And I
don't know, but this is just kind of cool though.
Speaker 4 (08:37):
I know, and I'm actually shocked that I've never even
seen this before.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
I have.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
I literally have three shop rights in my area and
one is brand spanking new. Nothing. I've never seen this before.
Speaker 1 (08:47):
All Right, We're available in text four four three six three.
Speaker 3 (08:50):
Love to hear from you more Covey and Christine and
the great music variety you expect next on light at.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Them, just keeping this conversation going. We're talking about it
a few minutes ago, about this grocery cart that produce
a Christen saw on TikTok. It happens to be in
our area, Clark, New Jersey at a shop right there
is a grocery cart. You just put stuff in, boom,
it scans it and it adds it all up for you.
I've heard about the scanning goes, Yeah, whill you walk
(09:16):
around with a little scanner. Yes, I've heard about that.
Then you put it in the grocery cart, right, But
this you don't have to do a.
Speaker 2 (09:21):
Thing next level. This is just pop it in the
cart and it knows right.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
And I personally kind of love it, but I feel
like there'll be a lot of mistakes.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
And yeah, because we've never used one, we've never encountered one.
So we were asking if you've got it four four
three sixty three, and apparently kubbe it's just us, because
it seems like everybody.
Speaker 1 (09:38):
Were the only ones that don't know about it.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
We're the only ones who don't know because.
Speaker 1 (09:41):
Sometimes you see stuff on TikTok. I've seen that.
Speaker 2 (09:43):
Right, But no, no, we're getting a lot of great
messages to one Oakland in shop right in Oakland has it.
Lincoln Park has them. According to nine to seven three
not as easy as it sounds according to nine to
seven three, I believe it.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yeah, did somebody text in about I had a question
about how you do your produce?
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (10:05):
Did somebody like weigh in on that way and get it?
Speaker 4 (10:10):
One said there is a scale.
Speaker 1 (10:12):
There's a scale in the car.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
That's what it says. You just tell it what type
of fruit you have and it lies right. Yeah, this
is three four seven, Good morning living in upstate New York.
Shop right by me has those cards and saying they're
actually pretty good and they do have a scale. All
you need to do is plug in what fruit or
veggie you're getting, and it's a They said, it's pretty cool.
It also will clip coupons for you on the go,
(10:35):
because for me, I have to sit and load them
into my phone right, you know, like before we go
to the store, because sometimes they don't even load quick
enough right to get to check out.
Speaker 1 (10:45):
You want to be all prepped.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
I'm prepped. I'm ready to go.
Speaker 5 (10:48):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
Miss Karen texted in a shout out to Miss Karen,
who runs the daycare that my son Miles goes to.
She says, good morning. Bjay's offers it, but there's a
maximum number of items you can put in, Oh, but
you do as you scan and you go and there's
no line, so I know there's a maximum in some
part of it. I don't know.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
I'm seeing a lot of Amazon Fresh, by the way,
maybe they were kind of the ones that even started
with it. I think Amazon Fresh and moved on. And
we also got a message that Japan has these shopping
carts six four six.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
They probably started it.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Usually they're yeah nine seven three from Lincoln Park. We
have them. They're not as easy as they sound.
Speaker 1 (11:32):
Yeah, I still think there's gonna be some kinks they
have to kind of work out. It's probably a great
idea and it's probably for the most part working right,
But I don't know.
Speaker 4 (11:42):
To a one said they it makes mistakes. They spend
time scanning to make sure it's accurate, so it's like
double the work.
Speaker 2 (11:47):
At that point, you got to like really look everything over.
I think, look over the receipt before.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
You go all right, I just want one. I want
I want a grocery cart with a bidet in it.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
You lazy to walk to the restaurant.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
I have everything. It seems like a scale in there,
a little privacy.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
Maybe more Cubby and Christine and the great music variety
you expect. Next on, light at them.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
The things we have that we probably should throw away,
but we don't. It's one of six point seven light
fmcubby and Christine.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
What do we have because they're free? Yeah, and you
kind of feel guilty throwing them away. But then they
pile up.
Speaker 1 (12:22):
And we have a lot of great examples of things
you probably didn't even think of that you're holding on
to m that you could probably get rid of.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
I mean the obvious are like the little condiment packets, right,
you know.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Although I think it's good to be keep those to
use them again, we try and catch up, but.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
They kind of syrup. We have way more than we need.
You know, you're right, we hang on to them. They
pile up. The fast food, napkins, hotel toiletries. Oh I
used to like to take those.
Speaker 4 (12:53):
I'm a culprit of that in Disney World.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
Oh what do you take?
Speaker 4 (12:56):
It just smells so good, the lotion. It's it's just
like they're special. Yeah, And you know, I'll like, I'll
pack one and then I'll call and be like, okay,
we got more shit.
Speaker 2 (13:05):
Yeah, but it's okay.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
When you see the cart out in the hallway doing
their work. You just grab a bunch of stuff. Look,
this is all stuff that shouldn't be thrown away, I think,
because you could be used.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
But like you brought up, a good example, gets out
of hand.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Yeah, when you're putting together furniture. Oh the extra screw,
the extra screw that could be thrown away.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
No, I mean, yes, they can be thrown away, but
we hang on.
Speaker 1 (13:32):
To them because we think we're gonna need them.
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Yeah, like they think about all the stuff that we have.
I know, I was just sharing, Kristen. I get a
couple of new sweaters recently, and when I cut the tag,
there's the extra little bit of yarn, like tiny, tiny bit.
Speaker 1 (13:44):
Please tell me you throw that away?
Speaker 2 (13:45):
No, but I'll never ever ever use it, Like I know,
I won't use it. It's like when they give you
an extra button. It's very rare that you ever need it.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
But you think to yourself, that was so nice about right,
they left me a button If the other one pops off,
I'll have this ready to go. You don't remember where
you put it like ten minutes later.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
That's true, but usually what happens is the minute you
throw it away.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
That's we need the button. True case in point, I
have a beautiful winter coat. Last year I was wearing
it popped a button. Was there an extra one? Yes?
Could I find it? No? Of course, So then I
had to go get like, go to the tailors and
get a whole new set of buttons so I would
have matching buttons. Because we couldn't match that.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Try pushy cat dolls. Next buttons is a big song.
Speaker 4 (14:27):
Oh that's right, I remember that. That's right.
Speaker 1 (14:29):
Loosen up my buttons. Uh huh huh button.
Speaker 2 (14:33):
The close singer. No, I don't have it all right, Well,
but you guys are good.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
I like, come on, you keep talking gift.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Bags and tissue paper, yes, right.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Gift bags, yes, yeah, sure, yeah, that's I never fill
out the little car it comes with.
Speaker 2 (14:47):
Me either, because I know now you can use it exactly.
Please regive that. So cardboard boxes and bubble wrap to
keep all those Amazon boxes and everything.
Speaker 4 (14:56):
Yeah, well, sometimes you have to ship your own step out.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Right.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
What do you do with their Allen wrench? You know,
you buy furniture from Wayfair, you put it together, they
give you an Alan Rich and then what are you doing?
Speaker 2 (15:05):
You have a pile of them.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
You have a pile of them.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
We have that. What about do people?
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (15:10):
Silica gel packets from packages I throw loose out I
do too, Yeah, keep those but some folks you know
there it is. Come on, Christine, give me a second.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
This is the extended intro.
Speaker 4 (15:23):
Of course, it is great all the lady.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
You look good and you want to play? What a
player from them? Come holler Snoop dogg? Coming Here we go,
Here we go, Lee, I show you code. I'm on
to you on one. You look at me. Here we go,
get you. I'm going for your shirt.
Speaker 2 (15:41):
What you want me to do?
Speaker 1 (15:48):
Well in your defense, Christine?
Speaker 2 (15:50):
How how long you've been at light f M Since
the beginning of time?
Speaker 1 (15:53):
Right? Since two thousands?
Speaker 2 (15:55):
We buy what is this?
Speaker 1 (15:56):
What you was? Buttons?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Oh sorry, Covey, I thought you had that info.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
That's all right, two thousand and five. And that's oh wait.
Speaker 2 (16:02):
Wait put it up now here here so funny.
Speaker 1 (16:07):
That's yes, I love her. Yes, okay, it's coming back
to your part.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Yes, good, good, all right, Yeah, I'm getting it. It's
a fun song, all right.
Speaker 1 (16:21):
I want you to think about that.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
It's part yeah, not the chorus, not the chorus parts.
He stood out to me for some reason.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Well, it all comes down to buttons. Yeah. It's a
good song, right.
Speaker 2 (16:31):
Yea, oh yes, I remember this.
Speaker 1 (16:37):
Because I like this part. I love how it's kicking in.
It's like she's like eating something in the flavor is
kind of like going around her mouth.
Speaker 5 (16:44):
It is.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
All right, you hear the whole thing that song.
Speaker 2 (16:52):
Standing.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
I'll take my shirt off right now.
Speaker 2 (16:58):

Speaker 1 (16:59):

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Light FM. Do you know who that is? Why you
got it? It's her birthday today. She is fifty four
years old and you know her from many things, right, Christine.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Yes, so I think that she was talking about beetlejuice there,
but also stranger things.
Speaker 1 (19:08):

just talked about cats.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
We did. Monday was National Black Cat Day, and today
talked about how special they are and wonderful, and today's
just National Cat Day. It's all inclusive. Okay, everybody, National
Cat Day, Tabby's calicos, You're all in?
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Do you have cat stories to support?
Speaker 2 (19:47):
I have cat's stories?
Speaker 1 (19:48):
National Cat Day?
Speaker 2 (19:49):
First of all?
Speaker 1 (19:50):
All right, let's do a string of cat stories.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Hey, yes, because we have great love for cats around here,
and I know that our friends and listeners love cats too,
because we get a lot of great comments. And there's
a really feel good story from right here in New
York where police officer Frank Squilante he's with the NYPD,
had rescued a little kitten, and he said this was
(20:12):
a sign that we were meant to be together. So
what happened was there was a food truck near Central
Park and people heard the little me and they thought
something's going on. And so many people gathered around the
truck and the guys who were working the trunk were like, okay, hold,
what's going on. And they couldn't see this kitten. And
then Officer Frank came over and he got on the
(20:33):
ground and went under and still couldn't see the kitten,
but heard them heard it again, and he said he
put his hand up in the wheel well and this
little kitty licked his hand, and he pulled the cat
out in that moment, just five weeks old, like a
tender little kitten, just five weeks old. The people around
the truck were all like, oh, plodding, they you saved him.
(20:54):
He took them right to the vet. They said, this
is a perfectly healthy little kitten, about five weeks old.
And the officer said that he's never had a cat
in his life, but he felt like this was a
sign and that they were meant to be together. And
he's named him Cheach, and he says he's the cutest
little guy and now they're living happily ever after.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
CHRISTI, that's funny.
Speaker 4 (21:14):
It's just Cheach is like a nickname for frank My
dad's name is Franken. They call him cheech. So it's cute.
Speaker 2 (21:20):
He bonded with the kitchen. Yeah, oh, how sweet. He's
a great That's what I think. So he's now a
family member. And speaking of cats as family members, I
have one more. This is a story of a couple
who's getting divorced and they have two cats and no kids,
and the wife wants custody of the cats, and she
(21:40):
won custody of the cat's husband agreed that she can
have the cats. He has to pay catimony. What did
we think? Two dollars every three months support ten years
to help cover the cat's expenses.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Wow, that's funny.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
He said he felt like his wife should have the cats.
You agreed, they will be very well cared for, but
he's going to miss them.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
Now. I'm trying to think of text in your favorite
jokes on this at four four three sixty three. You know,
if you call child support child support and this is just.
Speaker 2 (22:12):
About cats, yes?
Speaker 1 (22:14):
Is it meal support? Is it literate support? I don't know.
Speaker 2 (22:16):
Is it U cat support.
Speaker 1 (22:19):
There's got to be a joke there somewhere we're missing it.
Got a text, It's right in front of us, Christie,
right there. You can't quite grasp it.

government's shutdown, and we're in day twenty nine here. The
(22:54):
Senate was once again unable to approve legislation. Democrats are
holding firm on demands to save healthcare subsidies that keep
insurance premiums down for millions. Republicans refuse to negotiate it
until the government is reopened and President Trump continues his
six day Asian trip. America is getting skinnier and weight
