Speaker 1 (00:00):
Shaggy one of six point seven light of them. Thank
you for waking up with us. Cubby and Christine produce
a Christen on vacation This week it's bring your kid
to work day and we knew today was coming, Christine,
I won't lie, though, I forgot about it. And then
we walked in the building and then in our hallway
here in front of the studio.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
What do you see is that finger paints? What is
that out there?

Speaker 1 (00:19):
I think it's fingerpaint and playto and a bunch of crayons.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
I mean it says don't touch, but like I really
want to play with that.

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Did you read the small print though? What it was? It?
It says don't touch in big letters. Yeah, and then
the small print it says it's bring your kids to
work day for twenty fourth, So, like, you know, the
adults that are walking by here probably they probably set
this up last night. Yeah, and people are probably going
to try to steal it, or not steal it.

Speaker 2 (00:41):
But play.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
We'll take this home for my kids and hey, just
save it for tomorrow, which is today.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
So the kids get to play with it and we
don't get to go out there and play.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
With them, you know, what by ten o'clock when we leave. Okay,
chances are a big wave of kids have already been here.
Maybe we can subtly sneak one. I got to bring
one home to Naomi. I know that. Poor Naiomi. By
the way, I was actually thinking about bringing her today
to bring your kids to workday, but I decided not to,
like weeks ago, but if I had, if today I
was bringing her, I probably would have canceled it because

(01:12):
she's home. We thought she was sick, but it's allergies.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
She's getting slammed without ladies.

Speaker 1 (01:18):
Yeah, she woke up yesterday coughing so hard that she
was throwing up. We took her to the doctor. They
tested her for everything and they're like, I hate to
say it, I think it's just allergies, and they go
Spring is the worst time of year for doctors because
they sometimes it's hard to pinpoint which is which. But
it's her breathing. She's always had an asthma issue and

(01:38):
her breathing is very labored, so they had to get
her some albuterol scary and inhale her. Yeah, but she
was just coughing all day yesterday and very lethargic. So
she stayed home from school yesterday, so hopefully she'll go in.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, how is she feeling today?

Speaker 1 (01:54):
She went to bed last night and the coughing had subsided.
Some feeling hopeful about today. But miss Karinn, if you're listening,
who runs the daycare. Hopefully you'll see Naomi today. You'll
definitely see Miles. He seems to be fine. He's like, yeah,
our three year old is bouns.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
I know.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Are you? How about you? Are you feeling the allergyes?
Are you feeling the I know we talked about the
pollen every daily we do.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
The air quality always affects me. So unfortunately these fires,
which you know, I'm so sad to see that's happening
in New Jersey, that's affecting the air quality. So people
who were sensitive, like Naomi sensitive to begin with, right, asthma,
anything going on, you might feel that a little bit
more today.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Right, remember like two years ago, I think you was
it two years ago?

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Two or three? Now?

Speaker 1 (02:36):
You had the Canadian smoke here. Yeah, that was crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
The city was dark, right and orange orange? Yeah, that
was bizarre.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
It's not supposed to be that bad, but there will
be some haze and smoke in the air. So yeah,
if you have you know, lung issues, any kind.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Of breathing, any sensitivity, be aware of that.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Today high of seventy four. It's one of six point
seven light fun. We have three pretty cool things coming
up next.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
I need to tell you two Things's two pretty cool things.

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Yeah, with producer Christen's away, and we only have two
people in the room. We're only doing two cool things, okay,
because we're too lazy sometimes to find one of us
has to find too. And no, it's just me and
Christine today. That's it, all right, We're gonna tell you
actually together. This is part of this is a team
effort here. We saw a very cool Broadway show yesterday.
It's a Broadway musical, The Dead Outlaw. It tells the

(03:32):
story of outlaw Elmer McCurdy, who became world famous after
his death in a nineteen eleven shootout. His body was
preserved and displayed as a side show attraction for decades,
and the show explores McCurdy's life, death, and the bizarre
aftermath of his demise. And we saw it yesterday. It
was awesome.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
It's fantastic. It is a musical, by the way, in
case he didn't mention that.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
I did, but you did.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Okay, But it's I love, love, love the music, and
it's just so inventive and unique, and the actors are incredible.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
It's just a great and some try humor too a lots.
It was very good.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
So we highly recommend this one.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
And we'll probably talk about this later in the show,
but anyway, check out The Dead Outlaw. All right, what
do you have as a cool thing, Christine?

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Well, if you're getting married soon and you'd like your
pet to be involved in the ceremony, Chewy to the rescue.
You know, Chewy. We order like a lot of our
pet food and supplies. They have a brand new wedding
collection so you can dress up your little guys, your puppy,
your cat, your dog in tuxedos or bridal gowns. They
have Pet of Honor bandanas. They even have tiny ring pouches,

(04:44):
so your puppy or kitten can you know, walk the
rings down the aisle. Good luck with you.

Speaker 1 (04:49):
Yeah, I was gonna say, do they have trainers too?
I don't help bring the animals down the aisle because
summer very hesitant.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I think Archie's just going to take off and play your.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
Cat would be low to the ground like standing stills.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
It's like, I'm just gonna keep these and they are
running a little wedding. Well I shouldn't say a little
because it's a five thousand dollars VIP wedding package Chewi's
wedding contest dot com, so you can go there and
and win a lot for your special day as well.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
All right, some cool things right here at LIGHTFM.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
Next on light FM.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
We're having a debate here one of six twenty seven
light FM Covey and Christine in the morning. Christine got
called out yesterday, so we did a video for social media.
It's on the Instagram page for light FM. Go to
one oh six seven light FM, and we said, what
is your favorite TV theme song of all time?

Speaker 5 (05:38):
Right?

Speaker 1 (05:38):
You only pick one? Yes, And honestly I could pick thirty.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
So many.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
There's so many that are so good and they're so fun.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
I went with the Jeffersons as my all time favorite
because there's just so many quotable lines in this.

Speaker 5 (05:50):
And where.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
I just get happy when I hear this, I mean,
great song. That was my pick. And you picked what
Christine Safford and Son another classic. He's always just had
a great beam takes me back. But you got kind

(06:19):
of a well, I wouldn't.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Say a fight, but no, no, not at all.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
A disagreement in the comment section.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
Uh is somebody I don't have the person's name in
front of me made a point and it is a
good point, Kaby. I did think of this after we
posted that's theme music. That's not a song, and we
had asked what's your favorite theme song? So there's no lyrics.
But by the way, I think Eric told me that
Quincy Jones wrote that like that's like, that's correct, awesome music.

Speaker 1 (06:46):
Yeah, so here's I'm actually taking your side, and not
because you're like my sister. But there are many instrumentals
that were hits on the radio. And if you listen
to old Casey Kasem countdowns or whatever, they'll be like
and the number one song this week is actual f
by Harold Folderminer, like that was eighty five. So a

(07:08):
lot of instrumentals to me are classified as songs. I
get what the persons saying.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Yes there's no lyrics, there's no lyrics, so technically it's
not a song and theme song. He said, it's great
theme music, but not a song.

Speaker 1 (07:20):
You know, that's a technicality. I don't like it. I
don't like it. I'm going with you. I think it's
a great pic. Thank you, And we got a a
lot of great pics. We did Crady Bunch Adam's family
comment below if you can, If you can, go to
our instagram one oh six to seven light FM and
your favorite theme song, TV theme song of all Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
We have Golden Girls, we have Laverne and Shirley, we
have Cheers, we have mash which is also right. Theme music,
love Boat, Greatest American Hero, full House.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
Full House, whatever happened to whatever?

Speaker 1 (08:05):
We talk about theme songs. You play clips of theme songs.
I really want to do this feature for like thirty minutes.
I know, I want to play everyone on and on.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
Somebody wrote the Monkeys.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
The Monkey's theme was good.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Do you do? Alice? Cheers?

Speaker 1 (08:20):
Mary Tyler Moore.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Mary Tyler Moore is on there a lot. Yeah. Oh,
somebody named Chris agreed with me. I have to agree
with Christine Sanford and Son. Thank you. Any theme of
w k RP in Cincinnati that should be our theme song.

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Wait, the ending theme, The SA says ending themes okay,
because that was a different in the beginning. Oh yes, yes,
I'm gonna I'm gonna pull up real quick. I know
we gotta go to break. I'm gonna get in trouble.
Hang on.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
These are so good though. These are also good the
facts of Life. I love that one.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
So the w k RP theme that you know from
the beginning is if you've ever wondered w k RP
in Cincinnati. Yeah, yeah, the ending was completely different, and
it was a guy that was just making a bunch
of non words. I mean just just just mumbo jumbo here.
Check this out. He's not saying anything. That's the outro

(09:38):
for Dumble Therapy today. And yeah, I read an article
a long time ago that there's no real words in that.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
It's fun. That sounds like a song in progress. When
somebody's writing a song, they'll do that, you know, like
they'll put some like pitches kind of yes, I'm phrasing
and maybe a couple of words and we're gonna fill
it in later. I just never filled it in, but
it sounds good anyway.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
Go to Instagram one of six LIGHTFM and comment what
is your all time favorite TV theme song.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on, Light at them.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
All right, look to the sky tomorrow night or is
it tonight or tomorrow morning?

Speaker 2 (10:16):
Tonight? Tonight is tomorrow morning?

Speaker 1 (10:18):
Yes, all right, it's light of FM Cubby and Christine.
Here's why you look up to the sky.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
Yeah, did you see the moon this morning? Was like
the little sliver liver and it was really low and
it was kind of orangey. So that's the smile. There
is going to be this incredible view of Mercury, Venus,
Saturn and Neptune all together and the sliver of the moon,
and it's supposed to create a smile and you'll see
it like around five point thirty in the morning.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
So Saturn and Venus are like the eyeballs, yes, and the.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Moon is the smile shiny yes, right, and that is
the smile.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
The only thing we have to hope for is cloud cover.
There is none, and the smoke thing going on right
with the wildfires and no county there's that we're getting
some of that smoke coming up here, so hopefully tomorrow
won't be that bad.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
Way you can look up and see it in the
morning if you look to the east.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
Okay, and that's right about the time we're driving in too.

Speaker 2 (11:10):
It is so we will see the smile.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
All us early birds. Yeah, should see something pretty cool tomorrow.
All right, what do you have coming up in the news, Christine?

Speaker 2 (11:18):
We talk a lot about music around here. I wonder
why how important it is when you go grocery shopping.

Speaker 4 (11:24):
Cobby and Christine in the morning. More Next on one
O six point seven Light at Them More Covey and
Christine and the great music variety you expect. Next on
Light at Them and.

Speaker 1 (11:35):
Sharon seven O eight one of six point seven light FM.
Good morning. Thank you for having us on, Cobby and Christine.
And do yourself a favor, because Christine and I we
had a hot date although your fiance was part of
that date. Yes, we did a matinee. We checked out
the Broadway musical Dead Outlaw, and trust me, do yourself
a favor and check out this show.

Speaker 2 (11:56):
It's amazing, it really is. We had such a great
time and this is such a unique story. Right. So
this was like this was a big hit off Broadway
and I had heard about it and wanted to see
it and missed my opportunity and now it's opening on Broadway.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
It was great. Yeah, And here's how I sum it up.
It tells the story of outlaw Elmer murcurdy. It's a
true story. He became world famous after his death in
a nineteen eleven shootout. Now his body was preserved and
displayed as a side show attraction for decades. And the
show explores McCurdy's life, death, the bizarre aftermath of his demise,

(12:35):
and a lot of dry humor in here. And it's
a fun show. You hear this, you hear like death.
You hear me mentioning the word death in this. But
it's not like it's not super what's kind of dark,
but it's fun dark. Does that make sense?

Speaker 2 (12:49):
It does make a lot of sense. The music is awesome, right.

Speaker 1 (12:53):
Well yeah, the music is jam music.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
Yeah, yeah, because you got a live band on stage
and as I said, all general music that like really
can rock. And it was just fantastic, a fun show.
We love, absolutely love the cast. Andrew Duran plays Elmer McCurdy,
who's the lead who eventually becomes the dead guy. Right,
so we want to talk to him so badly about

(13:17):
how he was able to pull this off because there's
a lot for him to do. He lives this full
kind of tragic life, right and then and then his
life is tragic and death in that nobody respects his body.
It's taken across the country and put on display like
a side show.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
No family members are cleaning his body.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
Yeah, I know this goes right through to the nineteen seventies,
as you said, So it really is incredible in all
the characters he meets along the way that he meets
when he's alive, and that when he meets when he's dead.

Speaker 1 (13:47):
It is a brilliant show and we just wanted to
shout them out because we had a fun time yesterday.
It's called The Dead Outlaw. Yeah, at the Broadway.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
This is This is a great one that you're going
to want to add to your list of shows that
you want to see. Go see this one first. It's
really cool.

Speaker 1 (14:01):
We have a crazy first date coming up next a.

Speaker 2 (14:04):
Little Loving Man.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
It's cobby interesting, crazy first date.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
We have Guido on the phone.

Speaker 2 (14:10):
Yes, so Guido, when did your crazy first date take place?
How did you to meet?

Speaker 3 (14:15):
This was the first and last online date I ever had.
It was in ninety seven when American online was the
you know, the place to meet people.

Speaker 2 (14:28):
Oh yeah, sure I was.

Speaker 3 (14:31):
I was living in Georgia. I met a girl on
one of the chat rooms. We talked online for about
seven months. After seven months, I was in love. She's
told me she was in love, and I said, you know,
let's meet. And so she was here in New York

(14:51):
and I drove from Georgia to New York to me. First,
I asked her to to choose the place where we're
going to meet. She said the Lincoln Center. So we
need that the Lincoln Center, she said, noon. We need
that noon. And she says to me, listen, let's go
to a movie. There's a movie theater in the Lincoln Center.

(15:12):
So we go to the movies. She asked for the
worst movie, the earliest movie. So the movie theater was empty.
We really didn't watch the movie. I noticed she's looking
at her watch and uh and all and over and

(15:34):
over and over. So finally, after you know, if there's
something that you have to do, and she says to me, no,
my kids are coming out in about five minutes. Oh
they are, they are. They're having they take classes right
here at the Conservatory. And I'm like, uh, your kids.

Speaker 6 (15:54):
Yes, and she goes, yeah, yeah, did I I didn't
tell you that kids? And I'm like, no, I would
have remembered.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
That, yes, yes, you know. But so she says, is
that a problem, And well, I had just been with her.
I was crazy love.

Speaker 6 (16:16):
I'm like, no, he's not a.

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Problem at all. He's done, he's not I'll you know,
whenever they come out, we'll go downstairs and I'll need them,
no problem. And then she says to me, well, you
can't need them right now, and I'm like why.

Speaker 6 (16:31):
She goes, because my husband is going to meet us, and.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
You're what, and she goes, yeah, my husband is gonna
pick us up.

Speaker 6 (16:40):
Did I did I tell you I was married? No?

Speaker 3 (16:45):
We not.

Speaker 6 (16:48):
Is that a problem?

Speaker 2 (16:50):
And I said yes, yeah that's a problem.

Speaker 3 (16:52):
That's a problem. That that is a problem, and she goes, Okay.

Speaker 6 (16:56):
Then then I guess this is it, and she grabbed
her coffee. She gave me a kiss, a nice kiss,
and she walked away. And I sat there in the
window looking down at the Lincoln Center and I.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
See her cross the street and these two kids come
to her. They're carrying they're carrying instrument cases.

Speaker 6 (17:18):
And two minutes.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
Later, a car stops right there in the corner and.

Speaker 6 (17:22):
A guy gets out and gives her kids. That's her kids,
put everything in the car and.

Speaker 3 (17:28):
They leave it.

Speaker 5 (17:30):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
And I'm just sitting there with a coup in my hand,
going like, okay.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
This is that?

Speaker 1 (17:38):
Yeah? Now are you married?

Speaker 3 (17:39):
Now?

Speaker 1 (17:40):
I mean, what's going on with you now?

Speaker 2 (17:42):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (17:42):
No, no, No I'm not. I'm married, I have kids. I've
been married for you know, I've been eleven years and
it's been great. But you know that happened?

Speaker 2 (17:52):

Hold on one second. You've been seeing tons of Broadway.

Speaker 2 (20:25):
Christian, Yes, lots of shows.

Speaker 1 (20:27):
Yes, you should be a Broadway reviewer, which you kind
of are kind with that podcast you do.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Oh thank you, Yeah Inside Broadway. Yeah, this podcast I
do for iHeartRadio Broadway. And we just spoke with Kelsey Watts,
who's a great singer and she's in six on Broadway
right now. We've just posted that one.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Look at you inside Broadway. Checking out wherever you get
your podcast, but hopefully the iHeartRadio app, which is free,
by the way.

Speaker 4 (20:53):
Yeah, more Covey and Christine and the great music variety
you expect next on light at Them.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
I found a new app and I love it. I'm
going to tell you about it. This is not a commercial.
No one's paying for this. I just discovered it through
my wife and I want to tell you about it.

Speaker 2 (21:07):
You canna share with us.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Okay, it's Kubby Christine light off Amazon. Thank you for
having us on. I learned about this on Earth Day
because it's all about saving the planet. Yes, things that
we can do. There are many things we can do,
but one of the things is not be wasteful. And
there's an app called Too Good to Go. My wife
told me about this when we're eating dinner on Earth Day.
It connects users with businesses like restaurants and grocery stores

(21:30):
to purchase discounted surprise bags of unsold food. Like how
many times, for example, you go to a bagel shop
at like well, like right now, Yeah, and there's so
many bagels. Yes, and you think to yourself, what do
they do with all these bagels? Like at three pm?
At four pm?

Speaker 2 (21:46):
The waste?

Speaker 5 (21:49):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (21:49):
Yes, So what you do is you download this app
again it's called Too Good to Go, and the app
will display a map of all the businesses in your
area that offer surprise bags. You reserve a surprise bag,
and you go to the store at a like a
designated time, and then you show the reservation and you
get your bag. So you're buying, like I'm using bagels

(22:12):
for an example, because it's a morning but you're you
buy a bag for five dollars. Yeah, but there's like
