Speaker 1 (00:00):
One of six point seven light FM Black Eyed Peas,
and I got a feeling with Cubby Christine. Producer Kristin.
We're hanging out, Christine. Good morning to you. We did
it Monday. It seems so far in the distance this
day we call Friday. Yes, we've done it. We're here,
We're here, We're here. Producer Kristen is working from home
today and for a valid reason, you really can't drive
(00:22):
your car, right, Producer Christen, No.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
I can't. Another crack in my windshield.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
But here's the question. Yesterday it was supposed to be fixed.
So what happened They didn't show up.
Speaker 3 (00:35):
Oh, they showed up hours later to only inspect my
windshield as opposed to fixing it. So now they're gonna
come out this morning and fix it, which I don't
know why they couldn't do it in the first place,
But here we are.
Speaker 4 (00:48):
Yikes. We hate that when you lose a whole day waiting, yeah,
for repairs, whatever it is in the house or whatever
it is you have to get done, and then it
doesn't happen. I'm sorry, And.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
It's funny that the people that are gonna fix a
wind shield missed their window on boom boom. Yeah you're
supposed to be there. Well, they'll try again today, right.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
Yes, yeah, they're coming today. They better come today, I hope.
Speaker 4 (01:11):
So.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
But into great. We have the technology that you can
be in your basement, producer Christen, and do the show
from home right now, and that pretty cool? Are you
hiding from your family right now?
Speaker 2 (01:20):
I have to hide from my children.
Speaker 3 (01:21):
They're gonna get ready for school and if they find
out I'm here, you won't hear me anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
And you know, speaking of repairs, Christine, I have to
follow up on you.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
Mm hm.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
Your oven is all messed up and you were supposed
to you apparently bought a part online and Eric, your fiance,
was going to fix the oven. Yes, you never followed
up on that.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Okay, we actually we just followed up on it because
we were waiting for the part to come because we determined,
and hopefully we're right, that it's the igniter that's not working.
So it's a gas oven, but it's an electric igniter.
And if you go on YouTube, there's a bunch of
guys who show you how easy it is, you know,
(02:01):
to change this out. So we ordered the part. We
believe we have the right part. Eric was gonna change
it yesterday. But when we pulled the oven out, we
saw like the gas hose was really really short. We
wouldn't be able to get to it without disconnecting the gas.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
You're hoping you can bring it way out.
Speaker 4 (02:19):
Yeah, And that's where things started to get a little
scary and shaky. And I said to Eric, I'm like, no,
let's just let's call P. S and G or whoever
we need to call for these kind of repairs.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
And Eric was like, yes, I'm mad.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
He was mixed covey and mixed reaction because he was like,
are you sure? Are you sure? Like? Am I still
the man? Am I still doing manly things around the house?
Because you know how I share with him that we
do these news stories. Women love when you guys fixed stuff,
So you know, he's like, he wants the brownie points
and he wants to fix stuff. And I'm like, yes,
of course, because you tried. We tried, Wow, you know,
(02:55):
And I'm like, just help me with every day stuff.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
And I'm happy you're gonna have to call somebody.
Speaker 4 (02:59):
We have to call somebody. It just was making us nervous.
Speaker 1 (03:03):
The intent was good on Eric.
Speaker 4 (03:04):
The intention was there and we tried, and YouTube is great,
but it's like it was easy for those guys because
they had access, right, you know, and we couldn't get
to it.
Speaker 1 (03:14):
Well, I feel left out, guys. Everyone everyone has something
that needs to be fixed, but not me.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
You're lucky.
Speaker 1 (03:20):
Yeah, well I'm gonna watch me get a flat tire
the way I know, I don't.
Speaker 4 (03:24):
Seriously all right, Well.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Happy Friday. We have a beautiful day ahead, sunshine and
a high of eighty. In fact, the whole weekend just
looks great. Currently sixty five at Light FM.
Speaker 5 (03:34):
More music and more Covey and Christine coming up one
O six point seven light at them look pretty cool.
It's three pretty cool things.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
You need to know, Christine. Your people are doing some
good things. Oh we are a champion ice skater from Hungry.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
Very nice.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
Yes where you were not born, but your family. Yeah.
A champion ice skater from Hungary have said a Guinness
World record for the most jumped brope skips on ice
skates in one minute wow, performing in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Her name is Esther and she did one hundred and
thirty six skips, surpassing the previous record of forty five whoa,
(04:12):
but I would be afraid of spraining my ankle. I
know you're wearing ice skates and you're doing jump ropes.
Oh my goodness, but impressive. Yes, you Hungarians. Oh yeah,
you know what you're doing.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
Yep, you know me, miss athletic.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
What do you have in your little story here?
Speaker 4 (04:29):
Well, I definitely think this is good news because we
are closing in. You seriously have to start like putting
Halloween candy away now right. Don't touch it, don't touch us,
put it away. Hershey's had announced over the summer that
because of cocoa prices going up, they were concerned they
would have to raise the prices on their products. But
(04:50):
hershey said, We've got good news for you. Despite cocoa
future surging, Hershey's is going to absorb the high price
of the coco and keep their Halloween favorite candies down
for the holiday.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
So my stomach can absorb all of it.
Speaker 4 (05:05):
Yeah, exactly. Wait, so you can go ahead and buy
your favorite Hersy's chocolates to give out to the trick
or treaters covey and it won't cost you more.
Speaker 1 (05:12):
Just don't leave it in the car if you buy
it today. Yeah, even though it's only gonna be eighty today.
That car can still heat up, that chocolate will melt,
bait it out, all right, Kristin, you're up with your
cool thing.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
All right, So this is exciting. The movie Toy Story
turns thirty this year, and starting today you can head
to an AMC theater and see it on the big screen.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
But of course, the cool thing.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
In honor of their thirtieth anniversary, you can also get
a buzz light Year and woody popcorn bucket and a
light up siloette cup character topper, because of course that's
what we're collecting now, is popcorn buckets.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
So yeah, that would be so fun for you guys
to take your kids to see it in the movie.
Speaker 1 (05:49):
Yeah, it sounds like you already have a plan again, Kris.
Maybe all right, we're coming right back. Lady Gaga, Bruno,
Mars and more variety from the eighties through today. Next
online FM.
Speaker 5 (06:00):
More Cubby and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
Next on light F them.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Christine, I think light FM listeners could help you. It's
one of sixty seven light FM Cubby Christine producer Kristen,
I'm sorry you don't mind if we take this conversation
on the air.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
Do you no, not at all. I could use some advice.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
We were just talking as that song was playing, and
you're looking for plans next weekend.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
Now this weekend weekend like tomorrow, but.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
I think the anniversary September twenty fast it is.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
I wish, I really wish our anniversary was September twenty first,
because then we could have Do you remember they're playing
this week there's something going on with them this weekend?
Speaker 1 (06:34):
No?
Speaker 4 (06:35):
You know, Eric works most weekends right because he plays
a lot of weddings and a lot of gigs drummer.
He's drummer, So he is not available for our dating anniversary,
which is coming up September twentieth. He's got a rare
Saturday off tomorrow, and he said, let's do something because
he and I, like most people, Neil little break changes scenery.
(06:59):
We love to get into nature. We feel better if
we can go out walking, see the trees, see the birds,
you know, that kind of thing in a quaint place.
So we looked up Woodstock because we like to go there. Booked, like,
totally totally booked. You had to plan in advance. I
think people love to go upstate because the leaves will
start to change, so we can't get into Woodstock. What
(07:20):
else around us has that kind of feel? Do you think?
Speaker 1 (07:24):
I mean, I'd love for people to text in it
four four three six three, But immediately I think of
Pennsylvania mm hmm, like the whole Lancaster area, or Kristin,
you and I were talking like New Hope, like I
feel like antiquing.
Speaker 4 (07:36):
I like that Kristin you mentioned, yeah yesterday, did you
call it Peddlar's Village? You talked about something in your
three pretty Cool Things.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Yes, I was actually going to bring that up. Pedler's Village,
which is right outside a New Hope, not too far
from it. I think you would love it. Lots of shops, restaurants,
It's very cool there.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
That sounds really cute.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Just for the heck of it. Christine, I found a
hotel in Woodstock. I'm on their website.
Speaker 4 (07:59):
Okay, which one?
Speaker 1 (08:00):
I just picked a random hotel? Hotel?
Speaker 4 (08:02):
Dylan, Oh yeah, that's okay, Yes.
Speaker 1 (08:05):
So can I see if there's a room available?
Speaker 4 (08:07):
You could check the rates.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Are you looking to arrive today or tomorrow?
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Tomorrow?
Speaker 1 (08:11):
All right?
Speaker 4 (08:12):
A lot of times they want two nights.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
Thirteenth and you're departing on the fourteenth.
Speaker 4 (08:15):
You got a gig tonight?
Speaker 1 (08:16):
Yeah, all right, check availability. I mean I see a
room available. It's nine on Saturday night and then two
thirty nine on Sunday night. We'd be gone.
Speaker 4 (08:29):
Yeah, we have to leave. We were looking cubby, there's
like the woodstock in there's these an hotel, Dylan may
be great. We were going for like a different like
a bed and breakfast kind of feel.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
Gotcha.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
The places we wanted to go just booked, right, yeah.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
All right, Well help Christine out four four three six three.
We need to send her away from the city for
a few days, just quick and get away. Just what's
a good spot?
Speaker 4 (08:55):
Leave it to the last minute, right right, Leave it
to us to leave it to the last minute. But yeah,
thank you.
Speaker 5 (09:00):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you expect.
Next on light at them.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Who needs YELP? Who needs Google? Who needs this internet thing?
We have LIGHTFM listeners helping us out.
Speaker 4 (09:12):
We have our friends. You guys are amazing. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Ten minutes ago we talked about how you Christine are
looking for a quick getaway, last minute getaway this weekend
with Eric, your fiance.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
Yeah, we're going to celebrate our anniversary of dating, and
we want to get outdoors and we want something quaint.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
You love Woodstock, but the places you want to stay
in are all booked.
Speaker 2 (09:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (09:33):
So people are throwing out some great ideas. But how
far do you want to go? Is my question? Christine? Like,
what like two hours hour away?
Speaker 4 (09:40):
If we do like hours hour and a half like
Woodstock would have been about an hour and a half.
Speaker 1 (09:45):
Okay, So because.
Speaker 4 (09:47):
We're leaving Saturday morning and coming back Sunday.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
Somebody say Courtland, New York, they have nice foliage and
all that, but oh nice, that's a little far away,
and I don't think the full fall foliage. How do
you say it, foliage, the foliage folidge. Yeah, it's not
really kicked in yet either.
Speaker 4 (10:03):
It hasn't. But that's okay. But there's some Yeah, thank you,
there's some wonderful suggestions in here. One that keeps coming
up is Lambertville and New Hope. That's from a two
h one number.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Do you like antique by the way, because I do.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
I do. I I'm thinking of Erica so many. I'm
thinking of Eric, maybe not as much as me. Okay,
but if there's an old drum set in there, I'm good.
I can look at stuff for half an hour.
Speaker 1 (10:29):
You know, it's gonna be a nice weekend too. So
maybe you want to be outside.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
We want to be out. That's the idea I want
to get. We want to get it outside into nature.
But I want the quaintance, e quate.
Speaker 2 (10:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:38):
Yeah, I wanted to be quaint, like the antique shops
and the little restaurants. So so yes, I see New
Hope keeps coming up from five one six finger Lakes.
I agree with you. They're beautiful, little too far for
us right now.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Hey, look who texts it in? Our friend Keana. She
does the overnight show on Z one hundred right down
the hall and apparently she's tuned, and we love you
Kanai Keana, She says, go out east on Long Island.
It's beautiful this time of year. You got apple picking,
quaint villages and uh I love Greenport.
Speaker 4 (11:07):
Oh, it is beautiful out there, Kiana. Thank you, Long Island.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
I love you.
Speaker 4 (11:11):
But getting there, well, from New Jersey, it's a track
right the other side of the planet.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah, yes, too far.
Speaker 4 (11:18):
This was one I mentioned to Eric two nine one seven.
Thank you, they said, missed it. Connecticut is really beautiful,
but is that kind of far for us?
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Maybe here's my here's how my mind.
Speaker 2 (11:28):
Thanks.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
I just want to go west, like I live in
Central Jersey. To me, getting out of town is just
going west, right, Going to Connecticut means ninety five and
cross Bronx and all that and then go Actually going
south this time of year like Cape May wouldn't be
too bad, but then we mentioned Long Island like anything.
Speaker 4 (11:44):
That, well, then we have to cross a couple of rivers.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
Yeah, So for us going up upstate New York because
we're northern Jersey, that's not bad, okay, And and I
think headed west towards you guys.
Speaker 1 (11:56):
A nine to seven three texted in, I've heard of
this place. Check out Amish View in. It has an
adult only building at Intercourse, Pennsylvania, which, by the way,
there are some funny town names in Pennsylvania. There's Intercourse, Pa.
The kids and I we've been there. It's very nice.
The rooms are nice, they say, and you have shops
and nearby restaurants. The Kitchen Kettle Village, which we've been to,
(12:20):
is great. So I'm kind of leaning towards Pennsylvania, like
right at that two hour mark.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
Yeah, it sounds like a lot of great stuff. And Kristin,
I'm getting lots of text messages about Peddler's Village that
you mentioned.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Oh that's great. Yes.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
And someone also said jim Thorpe, which I've always wanted
to go to. It's supposed to be beautiful. And you're
looking at about a two hour drive for you, So
that's not bad either.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
That's not bad.
Speaker 1 (12:44):
Well, follow the Christine Maggie on Instagram over the weekend
and see where she lands, the Christine Magee and we're
going to be tracking you all weekend long.
Speaker 4 (12:54):
Okay, yes, all right, put the tracker on.
Speaker 1 (12:55):
I want to put an air tag in your book.
Speaker 5 (12:58):
More Covey and Christine music variety you expect next on
light at them.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
Thank you for having us on. Covey and Christine produce
a Christen on this Friday. In fact, shout out to
all the buses. You know, we forget how many school
buses have us on. Yes, so if you can text safely, hey,
shout out if you're heading to school right now.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
Our friend Mark, who is driving Jake to school in
the morning.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
Who listens to us every day.
Speaker 4 (13:22):
I hope they're listening to us right now.
Speaker 1 (13:23):
Good morning guys or four three six three always available
on text. All right, I have not seen the list
you're talking about, Christine, Yes, let me hear it.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
I like this one, covey. Okay, So, ladies, what did
you not know about men until you started living with one?
So if you haven't grown up with brothers like I did.
But it changes too when it's your partner, right and
you're like together all the time? Little reddit pole covey
and nothing crazy here.
Speaker 1 (13:49):
Good. I was nervous about that.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
This is what the ladies discovered. Men will wear the
same favorite shirt until it falls apart.
Speaker 1 (13:56):
Yes we will wash it, you will wash it, but yes,
we wear the same shirt.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Love that T shirt. I have seen it myself. You
eat way more than we expected, Like there's never any
snacks left in the house for two and Eric keeps
telling me don't bring them home, but I'm like, yeah,
but they're kind of for me too. I just don't
eat the whole bag.
Speaker 1 (14:16):
I get yelled at for taking the kids snacks, like like,
oh that was for NAIOI. I can't believe the.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Like crying, daddy ate my snacks that you guys don't
sit down to eat, just eating out of packets or
boxes in the kitchen like a raccoon.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
Well that's wrong. Actually, I want to say a lot
for my wife. Actually, she's the one that stands oh,
because she's busy. I'm the one that sits. I'm very lucky.
And I don't know if she's listening right now, but
she cooks for everybody because she has to make a
meal for me and her, and then she has to
make a meal for Miles, and then Naomi wants something different.
Everyone like, we should just say you're all eating the
(14:53):
same thing. But it makes a lot. It just makes
it easier if you give them what they want.
Speaker 4 (14:57):
She's incredible.
Speaker 1 (14:58):
So I shout out to Toko if you're listening.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Coco has all my admiration. Trust me, she's amazing. About
half of you guys, It says, can be very very quiet,
like we didn't expect that.
Speaker 1 (15:10):
Yeah, well are you quiet like I am?
Speaker 4 (15:13):
After I get home, I'm very quiet, And so is
Eric because we talk all day for a living. That
and also he can, I think because his hours are weird.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
He's kind of.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Stealthy about getting into the house and not disturbing me.
It's like I didn't even know he came home. So, yes,
you guys are capable of doing that. One lady jokingly says,
I didn't know most men could just sit and actually
not think.
Speaker 1 (15:35):
Love that bad. Those are my favorite days, just sitting
there doing nothing because we like to ponder.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
Oh that you guys like to chill in your underwear
a lot more than we anticipated.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
Wait, let me ask Kristin. Kristin, you're working from home
and actually your husband probably is just a floor above you.
But of the things Christine's mentioning, are they accurate with Ryan?
Speaker 2 (15:59):
Most of them? Yeah, not so much the underwear one,
which is good.
Speaker 3 (16:03):
But the how quiet you guys can be? Yes, he's
quiet until the kids want to talk to me too,
and then all three of them are talking to me
at once.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
That part I don't understand.
Speaker 3 (16:14):
But yeah, the quiet one is the is definitely the
winner there.
Speaker 4 (16:17):
Can you say they're vying for attention? Kristen? Is what's
going on? The last one I'll share with you guys,
which I find to be very true. You guys are
never cold, and we're always freezing. So this lady says
that you are our hot water bottle, like she always
has cold feet in bed. That's good, like to rub
up against the guys to keep warm.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
I've never heard that before. The water bottle. We are,
ye all right, and I do like it.
Speaker 4 (16:40):
Cold, by the way, Yeah you do safty.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Eight degrees right there in the bedroom.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
Yeah, I'm always cold.
Speaker 1 (16:46):
Uh huh, I get it all right. Coming up, we
have Adam Chandler concert tickets. We'll tell you how you
can win those. At about fifteen minutes more.
Speaker 5 (16:53):
Cobby and Christine coming your way on light at them.
Speaker 1 (16:56):
Cobby and Christine in the morning. And can you identify
a selectbrity mystery voice? Christine and producer Kristin and I
have picked a voice that is very famous.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Hmm.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
But you know it may not click right away. Yeah,
and what do we give it away if a particular
person gets us right A.
Speaker 4 (17:16):
Great prize take us to see Adam Sandler. He's coming
to Madison Square Garden September fifteenth. Tickets are on sale
now at ticketmaster dot com. Or you identify this voice
and give us a call.
Speaker 1 (17:26):
Okay, this is from a interview with Jimmy Kimmel, so
you're gonna hear Jimmy Kimmel in the background, but identify
this celebrity voice.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Eighty is five.
Speaker 6 (17:35):
The hard year for me was when I turned seventy seven. Oh,
because I'm a little dyslexic. See, I didn't know if
I was seventy seven or seventy seven.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
I see, yeah, yeah, Okay, identify that celebrity voice. I'll
do it one more time and then you call one
one hundred two to two two one oh sixty seven.
Speaker 6 (18:01):
Eighty is fine. The hard year for me was when
I turned seventy seven. Oh, because I'm a little dyslexic.
I didn't know if I was seventy seven or seventy sex.
Speaker 1 (18:17):
I see yeah, yeah. That good luck from LIGHTFM.
Speaker 5 (18:21):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on light F them.
Speaker 1 (18:26):
You're asking you, can you identify the celebrity mystery voice.
We played it a few minutes ago. Somebody thinks they
know they're on hold. Here we go. If you missed it,
here's our celebrity mystery voice.
Speaker 6 (18:38):
Eighty is fine. The hard year for me was when
I turned seventy seven. Oh, because I'm a little dyslexic.
I didn't know if I was seventy seven or seventy
sex I see.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Yeah, yeah, Hi, Light FM. Do you have any idea
who that celebrity voices?
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Steve Martin?
Speaker 1 (19:02):
That'd be Steve Martin, got it? Do you know? Even
though I knew it was Steve Martin, at times it
sounded like David Letterman in my head, that's just me.
What's your name? John? John? Where do you live? Cli?
Side PLoP through Jersey?
Speaker 2 (19:18):
All right?
Speaker 1 (19:18):
Where is John going? Christine?
Speaker 4 (19:20):
John? You're going to see Annam Sandlery's coming to Madison
Square Gardens September fifteenth, So I hope your calendar is
free on Monday.
Speaker 1 (19:26):
Thank you. Hold on one second, And of course we
chose Steve Martin because he's in the news. Season five
of Only Murders in the Building got going on Hulu
a couple of days ago.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
I know, I look forward to seeing it this weekend.
Speaker 1 (19:36):
Look at that show, although way what to do? Right?
Do you watch TV? Or hang out or get outside?
It's gound be so nice? Do it all your nighttime viewing?
Speaker 5 (19:45):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on light at Them one.
Speaker 1 (19:50):
I was six boy seven Light FM, Happy Friday, seven
forty eight with Covey and Christine in the morning in
three hours commercial free, kicking off at eight twenty. As
we get ready for the weekend, we mentioned a moment
ago it's gonna be a beautiful weekend sunshine pretty much
all weekend. High's right around eighty, upper seventies and just
perfect gorgeous. But if you're gonna watch a movie.
Speaker 4 (20:11):
I well, I mean there's a couple of really good
movies opening this weekend. Just FYI True Spinal Tap two.
The end continues, just the title alone. Got to see it.
Love Spinal Tap, big fan and big fan of doubt.
Now be the grand finale that's in theaters this weekend.
Speaker 1 (20:26):
But now I want to talk about this list that
you disagree with. Well, not everything, it's pretty funny, but
movies that are so huge but really, at the.
Speaker 4 (20:36):
End of the day, we don't like well critically acclaims
movies that you might be almost like, I can't believe
I'm gonna say this, but I don't like this movie
because everybody likes this movie.
Speaker 1 (20:44):
Because I feel this way about a lot of Oscar movies. Yeah,
that happens, we win the Oscar I'll go all right,
let me see it. I'm like, this is awful, but
that could be. It's probably right me.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
Sometimes you keep it just between us.
Speaker 1 (20:56):
Because I'm also the kind of guy that I don't
know why Airplane never won an like, that's that's my
sense of humor, you know.
Speaker 4 (21:02):
So that movie's hilarious. But yeah, I've readit. Poll people
were sharing critically acclaimed films that they don't get and
don't like. Give them Tony Lama Land, which is like
one of my favorites.
Speaker 1 (21:13):
Now, I haven't seen the list, but I did hear
about that one on the list, and I agree with that.
That was one of the movies I saw.
Speaker 4 (21:19):
After all the fan fairs and didn't like it.
Speaker 1 (21:21):
I didn't think it was bad, but it was just okay,
it wasn't It just wasn't up my alley. I don't
think I was a demographic for it. I get it.
It was huge, but no, I get it.
Speaker 4 (21:31):
But we were friends up until that moment. Kubby, What
what happened to you?
Speaker 2 (21:35):
Row some more?
Speaker 4 (21:36):
The Big Lebowski never saw it, never saw it?
Speaker 2 (21:39):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
This person said they saw it at least three times
and they always fall asleep after fifteen minutes.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Well, there you go. You have problems falling asleep. Sometimes
that could be your movie.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
Christy, I think it's a good movie. You've seen it, yes,
Interstellar sci fi fan says I was hesitant to watch
because it was so popular, got around to it, didn't
like it. Thought it was two hypes.
Speaker 1 (21:58):
Did you see it?
Speaker 4 (21:59):
No? That one I didn't. That's not as much my thing.
The Shining. Here's a person who says, I will die
on this hill. But the Shining most overrated movie ever made.
Speaker 1 (22:10):
Okay, I like that one, the original Shining, Shining nineteen
eighty Jack Nickerson Shining.
Speaker 4 (22:14):
Yes, Oh I love Kelley Devall. Yeah, The Revenant two
hours of Leo crawling around.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Never saw it though, Okay.
Speaker 4 (22:22):
Joker, the entire movie series, they said, feels like it's
been written by a fourteen year old trying to be
edgy for his friends.
Speaker 1 (22:29):
Too dark for me.
Speaker 4 (22:30):
Joker is really dark, but.
Speaker 1 (22:31):
There are people that are really into it.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
Well, the first one I think was an excellent movie.
In the second one just too just relentless, everything everywhere,
all at once. That's one that won in Oscar and
this person is like, Nope, just don't get it. Wolf
of Wall Street. Okay, they say that they feel like
I got it. You're rich, you do drugs, You swear
a lot rinse and repeat for three hours.
Speaker 1 (22:52):
You know, I'd never seen that movie, but I've seen
the first twenty minutes of it, and someone told me
the first twenty year thirty is all you really need.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
That's what they're saying. Basically, Yes, that's what they're saying.
Rinston repay for three hours plus. I think Leonardo DiCaprio's
just talking about revisiting that character again too, like doing
that in a film. Two thousand and one is Space Odyssey?
Say they despise it?
Speaker 1 (23:15):
That was that like seventy eight that came out or eighty.
Speaker 4 (23:17):
I don't know. I to watch it in film class.
It's like you have to take it for what it's like,
almost making a statement.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
I've never seen it, but I would love to see
it now to think what they thought two thousand and
one was going to be now that we're like twenty
four years removed from two thousand and one.
Speaker 4 (23:32):
That's that's you know the famous hal the computer voice,
which okay, no, two thousand and one Space Odyssey or
he calls the person how because I think I'm off
this one. I loved. This was just last year Anora
was a big Oscar winner, and I thought the acting
was fantastic. And the person says the acting was subpar.
(23:53):
Story was basically a reality TV show plotline. No, I
didn't find it that way, but you know, by.
Speaker 1 (23:58):
The way, I was way off on two thousand and
one of Space Odyssey nineteen sixty eight. Oh well, I
don't know why. I thought it was like maybe I
was thinking Close Encounters or.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
Alien or Stanley Kubrick. Right, that's yes, yes, so that
that's a classic. At this point, super disappointed in Oppenheimer.
This person didn't like Once upon a Time in Hollywood
found it boring. And I'm a huge Tarantino fan. This
was a big disappointment. This is one person's opinion. And
finally Avatar. Both movies watched on a plane and thought
(24:27):
the story was predictable and boring. Those are some popular
movies right there.
Speaker 1 (24:31):
Yeah, I know it's funny. I don't feel bad when
I watch a bad movie on a plane because I
had to be there anyway.
Speaker 4 (24:36):
So that and also sometimes I think it doesn't do
it justice when you're watching it on that's true too.
You know, but yeah, like if you wanted to add
on to this list, yeah, we're into it.
Speaker 1 (24:46):
Four four three six three. What critically a claim movie?
Do you think?
Speaker 4 (24:50):
Is just you just don't like it? And it's okay.
Speaker 5 (24:54):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on light at Them.
Speaker 1 (24:59):
Good morning Christine, and good morning Cubby.
Speaker 4 (25:01):
Thank you. Gunman who murdered conservative activist Charlie Kirk remains
at large this morning. Thirty one year old Turning Point
USA founder speaking at a campus event at a Utah
college on Wednesday, struck by a single bullet in the
neck and killed. Two arrests were made the same day.
They didn't pan out. Authorities have released video of the
suspect from the scene, and they're asking the public for help.
(25:24):
President Trump is going to visit the final resting place
of the late Queen Elizabeth when he visits the UK
next week. The President and First Lady are set to
arrive in London on Tuesday. Mortgage rates have ticked down.
Mortgage buyer Freddie Max said the average rate on a
thirty year fixed mortgage is now six point twenty five percent,
(25:45):
down from six point five percent last week, MTA is
putting a contingency plan into place. Should Long Island Railroad
workers go on strike next week and their deadline is Thursday,
September eighteenth, MTA would provide shuttles. But they're saying, look,
there are three hundred thousand commuters that will be impacted
by the strike if it happens. If you can work
(26:07):
from home, now's the time, or that's a lot of shuttles,
that's yes, So if it happens, and of course we're
going to keep you posted. In sports, the Mets lost
to the Phillies six to four, Yankees beat the Tigers
nine to three, Liberty beat the Sky ninety one eighty six.
Thursday Night Football Packers beat the Commanders twenty seven eighteen. Okay, ladies,
are you a woman who has it all together? But
(26:29):
you still feel like men are driven away? What is
going on? It's not your fault. Apparently, according to the experts,
guys interpret a woman's stronger qualities as threats. For instance,
if you're enthusiastic, you're seen as dominating the conversation, if
you're authoritative, you come across to men as controlling, and
if you're serious, guys don't think you have a playful side.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
You ladies can't win.
Speaker 4 (26:53):
How are we supposed to win? That's why it's going
to ask you exactly. Those are nice strong qualities right there.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Well, if you're still out there in the dating world,
wish you the best of luck.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
Yeah, and there's a there's a guy way cooler that's
going to get you, that's going to get you. Don't
have to dampen any of that, you know, strong qualities.
Speaker 5 (27:10):
More Covey and Christine and the great music variety you
expect next on light at that.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
I'll be honest, Christine, I don't know about your pick
this weekend. It's one of six points out of NFM
Cubby Christine, producer Kristen really Survivor pool. It's week two
and you pick one NFL team a week. You can't
pick that team again. But if that team loses, you're out.
But the good news is we're doing three strikes. Okay,
I'm looking at your pick. You have the Chicago Bears
(27:36):
winning this weekend. They're taking on the Detroit Lions.
Speaker 4 (27:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
I just think Detroit's a much better team and you
may have an issue with that game, but I'm wishing
you the best of luck.
Speaker 4 (27:44):
You think that's going to be my first strike.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
It could be, but I'm not one hundred percent on mine.
But I'm taking the Cincinnati Bengals over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Okay,
and producer Kristin is taking the Arizona Cardinals. They are
playing who are they playing? The Cardinals? They're playing the
Carolina Panthers. But that game is in Arizona, so I
kind of like Arizona too on that, So we shall see.
(28:09):
Maybe you'll be watching football because the ratings are up
and you're the only one not watching football. Apparently twenty
two million people tuned into a game last weekend. Yes,
it's like shattering records. The NFL is on fire.
Speaker 4 (28:21):
All right, you watch it for me.
Speaker 1 (28:23):
You know, you'll text me around eight o'clock Sunday night,
going did I win?
Speaker 4 (28:27):
How's my team do?
Speaker 1 (28:28):
I'll let you know.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
I'll the Taylor show up and Emmy's are this Sunday?
So like, I'll watch that stuff for us, and you.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
Might want to be outside. It's going to be a
beautiful weekend. You got San Gennaro, The Feats of San Gennaro.
Speaker 4 (28:39):
San Gennaro's underway Mulberry Street, six Flags. Great adventure. They're
kicking off right fast. You want to do some of
the little spooky it's time? It is time?
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Maybe apple picking? Yeah? Is that that? I believe that
pretty much kind of starts in September, doesn't it. I
think so, Although to me apple picking is more of
an October thing. I'd need more orange on the leaves.
Speaker 4 (28:57):
I think if it as October as well. But if
you want to get the low hanging fruit, if you
don't want to work so hard for your apples, you
have to go earlier. Oh good point, yeah, because I
always get there and they're like up at the top
and I'm like, okay, I can't I can't get that.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Ladder right, Yeah, So I did not know that the
later you go, the more drew for your lia.
Speaker 4 (29:14):
Well no, it's everybody's gotten the low hanging fruit. Oh
you know it.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
So maybe they settled down.
Speaker 4 (29:20):
They they've already been picked over it. Can you get
the gadget, the thingy that's got to pull the apple down?
Speaker 1 (29:27):
Gotcha?
Speaker 4 (29:27):
You know what I'm talking about. I know, I see
the apple grabber whatever that's called, the apple picker, the
apple picker.
Speaker 1 (29:34):
Well, whatever your plan is this weekend enjoy it exactly.
We have a beautiful day to day sunshine and high
of eighty and what we have today is what you're
going to have pretty much all weekend. Longe and three
hours commercial free to kick off that workday coming up
next
