Speaker 1 (00:00):
So your's a kind of a tough question. You know,
you move into a new home, maybe you don't know
the traffic you're going to get for Halloween. How do
you know how much candy to buy?

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Yeah, just in general, exactly.

Speaker 1 (00:12):
If you've lived in a house and you kind of
know your pattern, that's right.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
Easy, right, Well, yeah, there's a little formula. Shipped and
Mars Wrigley have come up with a mathematical equation for
us to figure out how much candy to buy for
the trick or treaters. I love this because this is
a biggie because it's expensive.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
Yeah, but you know what, if you have extra candy,
I always feel.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Like, well, oh, we all win, we all win. Exactly.

Speaker 3 (00:36):
So they're saying, what you need to do is how
many hours do you think you're going to be handing
out candy. You multiply that by the number of neighborhood
kids you expect at your door each hour, and then
you multiply that by the number of pieces you think
the kids can take. So they said, then you should
have enough. In other words, if you're going to let

(00:59):
forty kids take two of fun sized candies a piece
per hour for five hours, you need four hundred pieces
of candy.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
Gotta be Albert Einstein here plus M equals square.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
You need a lot of candy, Yeah, you do.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
This is what we took math for guys. You're always
wondering why am I taking this? Now?

Speaker 3 (01:21):
You know, I'm very torn because I keep picking up
the giant bags of candy that, like I said, cost
a lot, right, and they're the little tiny ones.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
That's fun size, right, Yes, that's the fund size.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Yeah, there used to be snack size, so they were
a little bit bigger. Good point, And I want them
to have that. That's what I want to have, not
these little tiny.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
One calculator that's provided or you can do is that.

Speaker 3 (01:46):
This this is then we would have to change it.
We'd have to go back to Einstein, right and ask.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
Him an X plus y z.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
No, but it kind of it's not as nuts as
it sounds. So forty kids.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
If nuts, it is that different. If that baby has nuts.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
In them, that's different.

Speaker 3 (02:03):
Forty kids they each take two fun sized candies, which
are the little ones. Uh huh, forty kids per hour
they come for five hours.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
You need four hundred pieces of candy. It's a lot
of candy. It's a lot. That is a lot, Like,
I don't even think Costco sells that big of a compagion,
a bunch of those bigies. Do you allow the kids
to take from your bowl or do you give the
candy and put it in their bag? I always let
them take do you Yeah? I don't. You haven't really, Yeah,

(02:33):
because eight.

Speaker 1 (02:33):
Years old, I was like sure, and I would just
take a.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Handful, you know, I kind of just go okay, And
sometimes the parents will say, now we just take one. Yeah,
you know, sometimes somebody is there monitoring.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
So Christine, guess how many trigger treaters we get at
our house?

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Zero?

Speaker 1 (02:50):
You nailed it. Yeah, we have. We live in like
kind of a corner at the end of a very
busy street and there's no sidewalk. So we've been there
ten years and I think we the doorbell rang one time,
maybe once.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Do you have candy on standby just in case?

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (03:05):
The kids, yeah, take it from their hall.

Speaker 1 (03:08):
To take I take it from their bag or stuff
we have in our pantry. We've had to do that,
but we never actually buy candy, wow, because we know
we're not going to get any trick or treaters, So
take that mouth, mauth calculator or whateverular you are, all right,
give us a text at four four three six three
about Halloween candy. How much do you give out? How
long do you have your your window open before you
shut it down and turn the lights off?

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Yeah for good night, Yeah light f M
