Just awful news yesterday. We heard this around two or
three o'clock yesterday on the passing of her ex husband,
Brandon Blackstock. He was forty eight years old. He passed
of cancer. Just awful, awfully here, and you just reported
yesterday morning before he passed about how Kelly released a statement.
Now she's taken a break for some things because he

was ill, and then he passes away. So it was
a busy day yesterday.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Well, it kind of puts everything together because she was
missing her talk shows, remember, and there was no official
word as to why. I remember there was like a
rumor that her ex husband wasn't well and that she
wanted to be there for her kids, and that's what
this supposedly is about. But yeah, he was just forty
eight years old. He had four children to with Kelly,

and they were co parenting the others and apparently he
was about to speak a granddad or is a granddad.

Way too young.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah, it's kind of it's always a you.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
Feel for the whole family, the kids and the whole family. Yeah,
it's just a terrible story.

And she's someone you know that I just there's this
little bit of connection with her because we've interviewed her
and she's so lovely and like so pot like you
see it in her show.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
She hadn't changed from the day one after American Idol
when she came to visit us, like back at our
other radio stations right that until we saw her like
two years ago. She's the same. She lights up a room,
she does, she remembers your name. You know, she's just.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
A very up, positive, very She's a good interviewer because
she's interested in you. That kind of person you know
that everybody just loves, just like I felt sorry seeing
her go through the divorce because it seemed like it
was so painful for her, and you could hear that
in her music. She had released new music and now
this loss.

Wow, we're thanking of you, Kelly and the whole entire family,
and we're very very sorry for the loss, and condolence
