Speaker 1 (00:00):
I have two questions. I was just I was gonna
say one question. I have kind of two questions. Number one,
does mischief Night, which is tonight, still happen and did
you participate when you were a kid? So kind of
two questions four four, three six three. I would have
to think that mischief Night has changed over the years,
especially nowadays. I think you set foot on someone's lawn,

(00:22):
people get mad, or rain cameras and there's alerts and alarms,
you know. So, I mean, Christine, back in the day,
did you ever do the shaving cream and toilet paper
and eggs and all that mischief Night?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
I think I would have gotten into too much trouble.
My parents were a little too strict to let that happen.
I don't know if my brothers kind of snuck away
into that or not, but I mean, it definitely was
around when I was a kid. Me too, Yeah, And
it was kind of harmless, if you will. It was.
It was toilet paper, and it was like soap on
car windows or something. It wasn't it wasn't too too crazy.

(00:57):
A couple of eggs here and there.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yep. That was our neighborhood in the ages when I
was a kid.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
But I feel like I haven't seen that in forever.
And and toilet paper is a hot commodity right now.
It's very expensive, so very true.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
If you see it hanging from a tree, you'll be
very mad.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Don't waste that.

Speaker 1 (01:12):
How about you, Christa? Did you participate or do you
remember those days? Oh?

Speaker 3 (01:15):
We totally did.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
It was like a full on war.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Yeah, but we did it to people we knew, right.
Our neighbors are relatives, you know, things like that, Especially
in the neighborhood. Everybody was so close, all the kids.
So we would all get together and be like, Okay,
whose else are we going to do next? You know,
the toilet paper, the eggs, all of that. So and
then we would clean it up. Okay the next day,
we would go clean it up.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
The next day.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yet, our friend John texted in and he said, we
did shaving cream and eggs with nair on Halloween. That
would stay forever, right, hard to get out Nair.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Well, there's gonna be some hairless animal that went by
or something some stunk.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
I mean, I just think today you can't really, I
don't see it happening. Someone's gonna get upset.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I mean, you know, I'm in a little community where
we would know in a minute, right if somebody was
out doing that, I think there'd be trouble.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
I remember also the local grocery store. So in Virginia
when I grew up, it was Halloween night. Was mischief
night actual Halloween night?

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:17):
Yeah, yeah, different because they were like the kit air quotes.
The kids were trick or treating. I was thirteen. I'm
gonna be oh you were. I'm a big guy. I'm
gonna I'm gonna mess things up.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
Or tat you the trick.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
Yes, yes, And the local grocery store would not sell
to kids eggs, oh, unless you had a parent. So
I remember going to a store and someone denying us
to buy eggs.

Speaker 2 (02:39):
Just go splat. I think the eggs they do like
if you throw them at the cars, though, don't they
mess up the paint or something like that? They're pretty damaging.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Actually, yes, and they're too expensive. Someone texted in, yes, yeah,
eggs are too expensive to throw.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
Absolutely all right.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Hit us up four four, three six three. Do you
participate in mischieff night or did you back in the
day and does it even happen in your neighborhood? We
want to know
