Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're all guilty of some of these, aren't we. We're
(00:01):
looking at it, all of them. Americans admit they waste
the most money on these things. It's one of six
point seven LIGHTFM. Cubby Christine producer Christen. By the way,
we are free of charge, providing you NonStop music and entertainment,
no subscription fees, free, ba free, beautiful. But what are
people spending money on? What's the most common wasteful spending habits.
(00:25):
Let's do it, Christine. Okay, let's do number one first.
You know me, I like sometimes like going ten nine eight,
like old school groundown. Let's just start with number one.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Number one is where we are frequently eating out.
Speaker 1 (00:36):
Thirty eight percent. And it's very true. A lot of
times we don't want to eat out, but we're out
already and it's convenient, it's easier. Even though we have
food at home. We try to we try to remember
though often there's food at home. There's food at home.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
But that restaurant looks good, right, and I want to
do the dishes and they'll cook it for me.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
Number two is what.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
Impulse spies from online shopping. Uh oh boy, yep, Kristen, Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:05):
What did you spend what do you spend about one
hundred bucks a week on?
Speaker 2 (01:08):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
Man?
Speaker 1 (01:09):
Can I tell you out?
Speaker 3 (01:10):
You?
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Sure?
Speaker 3 (01:11):
Why not? As you know, I'm a big Disney fan
and I'm a Disney uh pin trader and collector. I
collected Disney pins where you get majority of them in
the parks, but sometimes they do sell them online. And yeah,
I drop about one hundred dollars a week just on
pins for my collection.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
And are the impulse lies? Because are you thinking each
week I'm not going to buy anything, but then you
see something new and you're.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Like, boom, one hundred percent.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
It's a lot of impulse guys.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
There's a drop at eleven am today, So really it's happening.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
I wouldn't want to hold you back.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Number three, Uh, frequently buying convenience food and drinks.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Number four regularly dumping leftovers. You know the rule we
do at our house. I've talked about this many times.
No food goes in the trash can. If we don't
finish it, we pour it in a little like tray. Yeah,
and we give it to the raccoons outside.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
You feed the critters.
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Yes, we do.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
That is nice.
Speaker 1 (02:02):
I know some people disagree with that, but we like
our critters and they're like our pets. Oh not number five, Christine,
what's number five?
Speaker 2 (02:10):
Oh? Paying for TV streaming services that we don't actually use.
Guilty as charged.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
I've gotten a lot better at canceling, have you. Yeah,
there's so many streaming services that I got just for
one show.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
Yes, that'll happen, and.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
That is, let it roll and then it'll be new sometimes.
Oh yeah, you got renewal, I know, buying new clothes
and shoes similar to ones they already own.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
That's a big one for you.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Again, we're talking about the most common wasteful spending habits
that Americans admit to. Buying lottery tickets at number seven.
But when you buy that ticket, you just walk out
of there feeling so good.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
You're gonna be a zillionaire very soon.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Sure, and then it usually comes to an end at
ten o'clock.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Oh yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Ordering from food delivery apps instead of cooking is number eight.
Speaker 3 (02:57):
I really thought this would be higher on the list
because number one, right, that's I would think that more
people do this than actually go to a restaurant eat.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
It's so expensive.
Speaker 1 (03:07):
If I did not have an amazing wife cooking, Yeah,
if I was a bachelor still, yeah, I bet you
ninety five percent of my meals would be.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
From a you'd be living.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
Yeah. Number nine is leaving appliances or utilities running when
they don't need to, and number ten regularly buying coffee
out instead of making it at home.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Can't we have the little things in life?
Speaker 1 (03:28):
You're taking this personally? Aren't you Christian? Much?
Speaker 3 (03:31):
So? I?
Speaker 2 (03:32):
Like I said, I think I am all of the above,
But can I just have my coffee?
Speaker 1 (03:36):
You like your eight dollars Starbucks? Right? What's your average Starbucks?
Speaker 3 (03:40):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (03:40):
It has gotten expensive. I mean it's been expensive, but
it always goes up.
Speaker 1 (03:44):
But when it hits your lips?
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Oh yeah, come on? Makes this happy?
Speaker 1 (03:48):
How about something free of charge? Right now?
Speaker 2 (03:51):
