One o six point seven LIGHTFM. Good morning from Cubby
and Christine and producer Kristin Christine. I didn't wake up
this morning thinking we'd be talking about a spider monkey. Yes,
we have a spider monkey in the news.
Speaker 2 (00:10):
Well hang on to your spider monkeys. Yes, don't let
them loose. Because there was a festival taking place in
South Carolina, Cubby, a fall festival, and I guess the
town clerk was there, the mayor was there. Everybody in
the town was gathering and suddenly a woman's pet spider
monkey makes a run for it gets loose. Okay, so
(00:30):
there's a leash attached to this spider monkey. Everybody's kind
of freaking out because they don't know how a spider
monkey is going to react.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Oh, I have the visual in my head right now.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
The spider monkey is scared, yeah, and could run for
her life. But they said the mayor's wife had an idea,
what if this spider monkey likes my coffee? So she
walks over to kind of where the spider monkey is
now hanging out, and as like a peace offering, puts
her coffee down on the ground, and the spider monkey's
(00:59):
like okay, and she went, and she took it and
loved it, and that was their chance to grab her
and bring her to safety.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
And the spider monkey has been awake ever since. Yes,
after all that coffee.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Yeah, like she needed any more caffeine as spider Monkey's
name is Ava, by the way, so Ava likes her coffee.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
Yeah, I shouldn't have a lot of questions, you know,
that's okay.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
I thought about this from Telladigabytes, remember that movie Talladigabytes.
Speaker 2 (01:24):
I won't come at you like a spider monkey.
Speaker 3 (01:27):
Like a spider monkey, a.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
Spider monkey, I mean, I don't think they're dangerous. I
didn't know you could have them as pets.
Speaker 3 (01:33):
Well that's maybe South Carolina.
Speaker 2 (01:35):
Yeah, maybe in South Carolina. Yeah, I don't think.
Speaker 3 (01:39):
We can get one here? Can we get one?
Speaker 2 (01:41):
You want one?
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Yeah? Yeah? Don't you keep put a diaper on it?
Speaker 2 (01:44):
I'm sure. Oh you probably have to, and apparently feed
them my coffee.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
In your coffee.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
You're good, yes, yeah,
