The Halloween Season Has Officially Started

Plus, Cubby and Christine's listener event, and Cubby's son's reaction to Monster Jam.

Eight, Christine producer Kristin hope you had a great weekend.
We kicked off the weekend together, Christine.

Speaker 2 (00:06):
Yes, Friday Nights.

Speaker 3 (00:08):
That was so much fun. We had a big lead
up to this, right, we had our light off and
family winners come join us.

Speaker 4 (00:16):
For a night out.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
We went to Loy, which is a Greek restaurant, which
is incredible, Like should I say Hi and Jim because
it's been close to our radio station this whole time
and we didn't.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Know it and now we're going to lunch there every day.

Speaker 3 (00:28):
We've decided, Kristin, you have to come with us. You
know you couldn't make it on Friday. Great. So chef
Maria Loy is someone we definitely want to talk to
on the show.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
She is so nice and she has a show on PBS.

Speaker 4 (00:39):
It's kind of like a celebrity shot.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Yeah, and her food is amazing. So they just put
out like this huge spread for us, and then we
walked over to Mama Mia at the Winter Garden Theater,
which is where it ran originally on Broadway. And the
show is incredible, incredible show, like we knew, we just
knew it was going to be so much fun. It
was sold out. It was like standing There were people

standing in the back just trying to get in the theater.
So I'm so happy that we had this opportunity and
could share that night together.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
With a shout out to all the lovely listeners we
hung out with that. Yeah, we met in person. We've
talked to so many of these people that they've they've
won before and you.

Feel like you know that. Yeah, so it's nice to
make the connection in real life.

Yeah, when Christian, Sorry you couldn't make it on Friday,
but I know you had a very busy weekend. I
did give me one highlight.

Oh gosh, one highlight. We spent a lot of time outside.
We did a lot of back to school shopping. On
top of that, we already started Halloween. I know, I
know that's a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Okay, Yeah, you know what.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
You're a big Disney fan and you're a big Spirit
Halloween fan. And you told me you saw your first
Spirit Halloween of the season.

Speaker 4 (01:50):
Yes, Middletown, New Jersey.

Speaker 5 (01:51):
Spirit Halloween is open already, and we went and Jagger
had a blast. My son, he loves the animatronics. He's
very into how they're made, how they're built, and the
way they work, which is super cool. My kid grow
up to be an engineer.

Speaker 4 (02:06):
Wonderful.

Speaker 5 (02:07):
But yeah, we went and it's it's all set up
and we're ready for Halloween.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
Now, don't you upload these videos right to YouTube?

Speaker 4 (02:14):
We did. We did film it, yes, so we have.

We have a family YouTube channel, and we filmed it
and I actually published it maybe about.

How did Bowie like it?

Boie did not like it, So you'll notice in the
beginning of the video all four of us are in
the intro. And then what we did was we were
walking up to the store, the doors open, and Bowie
went nope. So Bowie and I went shopping.

Speaker 2 (02:42):
Speaking of not liking it, we went somewhere else. Yeah,
oh you diverted.

Speaker 4 (02:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (02:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
Miles hated Monster Jam. Oh no, you know, Miles, my
three and a half year old, loves cars. He loves
Grave Digger, he loves all these trucks. He watches him
on YouTube all the time. We took him to Monster
Jam at Prudential Center on Saturday, headphones on. Even with
the headphones on, he cried it was too loud. He

(03:09):
hung in there for like twenty minutes, and I saw
him really not like into it, and then he just
broke down. I'm like, I'm like, and I had headphones
on too. It's really loud in there. So we gave
it a good forty five minutes and then we said,
all right, we're ready here.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Wow. How long would it have been?

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Two and a half hours?

Speaker 1 (03:26):
Wow?

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Yeah, at least you tried.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yeah.

Somebody told me, if you want to see like Monster
Jam in a cool setting, like a better setting for kids,
go to MetLife because it's open, it's not as loud,
and there's more space for the cars or or the trucks, right,
so they can do more and there's more excitement.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
This was a little intense for him, a little intense
for him, and Spirit Halloween was a little intense for both.

A little bit.
