Speaker 1 (00:00):
Takes twenty three our time here in Houston's more news. Right, let's, uh,
let's talk a little bit about this, uh strategy. I
guess this is a strategy all these maga Republicans now
serving in Congress who want to become governors of their state.
They gave you a couple of examples. Aaron Evans joins
this president of winning Republican strategies. Good morning, Good morning.
What do you make of this? What? Why? Why are

(00:22):
they giving up congressional seats, one case in the United
States Senate seat in order to become governor of their state.

Speaker 2 (00:31):
I think, first of all, I mean for anyone that
loves their state, you know, as most most of these do.
You know, I think when when you there's nothing more
frustrating than being a member of Congress and uh, you know,
really wanting to move the ball for your for your state,
and you know, by the nature of just the process
and how how Congress and and and you know, one

(00:52):
of the good things and bad things about Congress is
it's really difficult to get anything done. And you know
that's uh frustrating when we have the majority, and it's
you know, a real blessing when we have the minority.
But you know, when you when you move from Congress
or Senate to governor, it's a way to really you know, identity,

(01:13):
You've identified a lot of the key issues for your state,
you know, as as a public servant in Congress or
the Senate, and it's it's a real way to jump
in and do something where you actually can really move
the ball and get some things done without you know,
some of the hindrances that the Congress brings in in

(01:34):
that regard. They're two totally separate roles. But I think
that it's it's actually a very natural thing. I mean,
most of the public servants that I've talked to, you know,
in Congress and Senate, one of the biggest frustrations is
and it's just so hard to get anything done in DC.
And so you know, for somebody really wants to take
it to the next level and get something done. And uh,

(01:55):
I mean I think, you know, governor makes a lot
of sense.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
Yeah, if you're if you're a do or, you want
to go somewhere where you can get something done. The
only the one thing I would question eron I want
to get your thoughts on this is, you know, some
of these seats. I guess they're in conservative states, so
the likelihood of them going to a Democrat maybe is
not that great, but it does. It does present a
leadership vacuum in the US House, in particular where the

(02:19):
margin is razor thin.

Speaker 2 (02:21):
Mm hmm, absolutely, no, it really, you know, And I
think that when we look at most of these that
are running, I mean I think that, you know, we've
got really good odds of still maintaining Republicans in those seats.
To your point, most of them are state But I
think that and look, you know, and I think anytime
that we can have more more new you know. The

(02:46):
other problem with d C is so disconnected from from
reality sometimes and so you know, even the even the
best of the best of people, uh, you know, a
point where they start to lose uh, They've they've got
to work really hard. I mean, those who don't lose
touch with reality have to work really hard to make

(03:07):
sure they're uh, they're in their district, they're they're still
living with with people, you know, talking to people, you know,
listening to people at their church, you know, listening to
people at the barbershop, grocery store. And it's just the
DC bubble uh loses track of reality so quick. And
so you know, frankly, anytime that we can get a
fresh batch of you know, uh citizens who are are

(03:32):
are straight out of our communities, and uh, you know,
I think that's also a positive thing. And so you know,
and I think I think it says a lot about
those who are running on the state level too, you
know that they're the the other neat thing about governor
and running for the state offices. You know, it is
going back local to to a large degree. And uh

(03:52):
and really you know, uh recentering on uh you know,
uh not only living but serving at home. So I
think it's healthy overall. All right, sir, thanks for your time.
Do appreciate it. Daron Evans, President of Winning Republican Strategies,
