Speaker 1 (00:00):
All right, there's an no Bits or opinion piece if
you will, in the Wall Street Journal. Here's the headline,
House Republicans had a great year. I should point out
that the opinion was written by a guy by the
name of Mike Johnson. You might know him as the
Speaker of the House of Representatives. I know he thought
they had a great year. Do you agree. Let's see

(00:22):
if this guy agrees Aaron Evans, President of Winning Republican Strategies.
He obviously thinks the Speaker thinks they had a great year.
What do you think, Hey, good morning. Yeah, look, yeah,
I think it was a really good year when you
look at how slow Congress actually is designed to work,
and certainly there's a lot more to accomplish in year two,

(00:45):
and I think that, you know, it would be a
mistake to just pat yourselves on the back and called
this thing a victory lap. But you know, I think
it was a really good start, and you know, there's
still still a lot to be done next year. Well,
they did the most board thing, right, they got the
big beautiful bill passed, and a lot of that is
not kicking in until this year. And that's when I

(01:05):
think most Americans are going to see how much they're
benefiting from it, starting with hopefully a much bigger tax
refund that they've seen in a long long time.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Absolutely, No, I think, look, next year is going to
be all about the economy, and I think that a
lot of the groundwork that was laid this year. I
think the thing people have to remember is, you know,
Joe Biden had four years to drive the economy into
the ground with horrible policies and absence of leadership. And
you know, Prince that Trump's had less than a year to.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Make some major changes, to hit the reset button for
the economy.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
And fixing a bunch of things across the board. And
I think we're going to really start to see that
payoff next year. I'm optimistic, and I think a lot
of the policies that were passed this year will start
really feeling that putting more money in our pocket and
seeing that personal financial impact next year. So, you know,
I think that's something I'm optimistic to look forward to.

(02:06):
And you know, I think that the big focus honestly
going into next you know, the next twelve months here
is Congress really needs to prioritize solidifying and codifying the
rest of President Trump's executive orders and some other things.
I think they've done about seventy and there's about four

(02:27):
hundred total. So you know, we're almost halfway there, but
I'm sorry, almost a quarter of the way there. But
I think that, you know, that's going to be a
very important part of that as well.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
I think that most people, most of us who are taxpayers,
look at what Congress does and say, they why aren't
they doing more? Republicans control the House, they control the Senate,
they controlled the White House. They should be they should
be passing anything and everything they want to, but they're not.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Yeah, look, you know, I couldn't agree more. I mean,
I think that I've said from day one, we can't
look at this.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
As four years.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
We've we've got to look at this as two years
to get the America First agenda done.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Because the midterms are unpredictable.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
And you know, I think, you know, I'm optimistic about
our chances, but you know, as we just saw in
Virginia and some other places, uh, Georgia, you know, uh,
elections are not guaranteed. Uh even in states where you
know they they uh, the Democrat machine is is still strong,
and so it's it's going to be a competitive midterm

(03:34):
and and I think that you know, the problem in
d C is, uh, you know, you you've got a
select group who uh, you know, fight everything that happens
from the extreme right. You've got another select group that fight,
you know, the stuff that really needs to happen because
they're in very imperiled districts and uh and they you know, uh,

(03:58):
on anything controversial, they're going to they're going to loo
more like Democrats c ander Republicans because they're trying to
stay in office. And at the end of the day,
right now, we need to focus on just saving America.
And you know the problem with politicians is when when
you're always looking at how can I survive two years
down the road, and you're not doing.

Speaker 3 (04:16):
Your job right now. You know that the real.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Question is should you survive in two years? And yes, so,
you know, I hope that they can get it together.
But you know, I think Speaker Johnson's done a phenomenal
job leading through that. But but we definitely need to
we need to pass a safe fact. You know, I
think there's several things we need to do to again,
you know, codify some actual long term solutions to protect

(04:44):
the immigration reforms that President Trump has led on, and
then obviously focusing on the economy is going.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
To be vital.

Speaker 1 (04:52):
Okay, well said, sir, appreciate your time. That Daron Evans,
President of Winning Republican Strategies, it's six twenty seven. Time
to take a look at your money.
