Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's seven fifty two. Now you're in Houston's morning news.
Former candidate for Harris County judge Republican candidate Alexander Mieler
joins us. It's morning on news radio seven forty KTRH.
We had niece Parker, who's going to run against Lena Hildago.
If Lena Hildago is going to run, if you heard
anything about that. By the way, as far as whether

(00:20):
or not Lina is actually considering not running this time.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Out, Good morning, Jimmy, thanks for having me on. And
I think that is a huge question. So everyday different rumor.
I just think with the Democrats in their primary, get
your popcorn ready because we're going to have probably another
crowded field hearing about candidates from Texas Ledge City Council

(00:44):
all getting in, just like Republicans see weakness with the seat,
the Democrats to do as well.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah, I would think at the very least if she's not,
if she is considering a run, then obviously that the
Democrats in Harris County are thinking about a change because
they see that seat as being you you damn near
beat her, and I'm not so sure you didn't beat
her in the last election.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I feel very similarly about it, and you know, having
a lot of time to reflect, certainly think it's crucial
to get a Republican in the seat. Marinice Parker is
a hyper progressive you know clearly is going to move
to the left during the primary. But you know, when
speaking with donors and independents, you know we'll be highlighting

(01:29):
public safety. And that's what the interesting thing is going
to be during this race. Every Democrat is going to
say I'm for public safety, but that's not what you
and I think of. We say public safety, we mean
more law enforcement, you know, quicker investigations, fast response time,
let's get dangerous criminals buy in jail. When Democrats say it,
it's everything, but more law enforcement. So it'll be interesting

(01:50):
to see how they position because they can read a
pull just like we can.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Sure they can now about you. Are you going to
make a run? Are you going to run on the
next election as a Republican for hairy judge?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
I am not, like as you said, very uncertain to
doubtful that Lena will be in the race, but I
will be very active in supporting the Republican judicial candidates
with active supporting them. Twenty four and just spoke to
Mac recently and he's very fired up to go after
these Democrat judges and hold him accountable for their failed record. Okay,

(02:23):
so want to be supportive, and it certainly is critical
that a Republican runs that seat, and so excited that
there will be already several candidates, and I think it
will even probably get bigger.

Speaker 1 (02:34):
Of course, a Dama did it for years and did
it very successfully, so much so that Democrats, most Democrats
seemingly supported him most of the time when it came
to that particular position. Do we do we have a
Republican who can do that, who can bring everybody together, you.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Know, I hope. So that's one of the challenges with
you know, crowded primaries is you don't get very much
time to get everybody back together. I think going through
the runoff was one of the biggest challenges for me.
And so for Republicans running Hope, they stay focused on
how terrible the Democrat alternatives are. Because in the East
Parker will have a big advantage of great relationship with

(03:11):
former county judge at Emmett, great relationship with Mayor Whittmeyer,
and she's not going to have a media, you know,
kind of holding her accountable for her very progressive stances.
So I think it's even more of an urgency for
Republicans to really focus on who that enemy is, get
a strong candidate, and run hard, all.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
Right, Alexandra, Always a pleasure, Thank you, appreciate it. Former
Harris County judge candidate Alexandra Meeler
