Speaker 2 (00:12):
It's more of what matters to you from the John
Morris Services studios.

Speaker 3 (00:18):
And Israeli hospital takes a direct hit from an Iranian
missile attack, and the Senate starts looking into the Biden
health cover up as Democrats hide. Good morning, I'm Bob
Friends and for Jimmy Barrett. This is the five o'clock
report on news radio seven forty k t R H.
Cliff Saunders says the news, and we're going to check
traffic and whether.

Speaker 4 (00:36):
Or not this time like, hey, what's going on, Bob Franz.
We are looking at the hard work and east side.
Here's your heart out you need that. Here's one for Clifford.
And we're looking over by the bud plant. They had
some leftover roadwork. Nothing we love more than getting all
scooched up between the butt plant and the east. Sam
looks like we're in good shape now they've just now
picked it up.

Speaker 5 (00:54):
So we're normal this way as normal as we can be.

Speaker 4 (00:57):
Inbound from the river, we're looking Sanders in a river bridge,
an easy twenty one minute stroll, so far rest of
your freeways rocket for now. I'm in the USA Rvresorts
dot Com traffic center.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
All right, thank you, good sir, and sun and Cloud's
mix today as stray shower or thunderstorm is possible. High
of ninety two tonight overnight dropping down to about seventy
eight four low. Right now, we're sitting at eighty degrees
at your official severe weather station. There's radio seven forty
k TRH. Now let's get the morning news. Here's Cliffshannders.

Speaker 5 (01:26):
Thank you, Bob.

Speaker 6 (01:27):
Good morning everyone, five oh one on KGRH. Now our
chop story this morning. Explosions in Israel as a hospital
takes a direct hit from a missile fired by IRN.

Speaker 7 (01:40):
The missile came down. I'm told it hit directly on
one of the residential buildings and there was so much
impact with the surrounding buildings here. Remarkably, the injuries here
were all relatively minor environmental shrapnel that kind of thing.
And that's because the Israelis are respecting these warnings. The
sirens go off and they have for the bombshelters.

Speaker 6 (02:01):
Mike Tobin reporting from Tel Aviv. More than eighty five
people have been injured in the latest wave of missile strikes.
President Trump is not ruling out American action against Iran.

Speaker 8 (02:11):
If it's situation between fighting and them having a nuclear weapon, you.

Speaker 5 (02:16):
Have to do what you have to do.

Speaker 6 (02:18):
The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump privately approved attack
plans but has yet to give the final order. Now
there are both Republicans and Democrats that don't want the
US getting directly involved. Defense Secretary Pete Hegsith says they
don't make those calls.

Speaker 9 (02:34):
There's only one person that was elected president the United States,
and the American people elected him to make these decisions
on their behalf, and if and when those decisions are made,
the Department is prepared to execute.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
Eg scept that the Senate Armed Service Committee. Yesterday. Meantime,
the Senate Judiciary Committee held its first hearing in the
alleged cover up of former President Joe Biden's cognitive decline.

Speaker 10 (02:56):
Up a tempkin presidency fronted by a failing puppet with
staffers behind the scenes pulling the strings.

Speaker 5 (03:04):
This is not political hyperbole.

Speaker 6 (03:07):
Texas Senator Ted Cruzeer Democrats boycotted to hearing. Elsewhere, the
White House continues to push for the Senate to pass
President Trump's budget plan, CMS Administrator doctor Oz on CNN,
saying it will cut Medicaid fraud.

Speaker 5 (03:21):
When they steal.

Speaker 11 (03:22):
Money from these programs, they're stilling for our most vulnerable.
This is the most ambitious health reform bill ever in
American history.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
It's imperative that it passes.

Speaker 6 (03:30):
OS on CNN and continuing to look at your money,
the Federal Reserve continued its ultra cautious approach to interest rates.

Speaker 12 (03:37):
The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady for the fourth
straight meeting, citing ongoing uncertainty about the impact of tariffs.
KTRH moneyman Patchin says there's no guarantee of a rate
cut anytime soon.

Speaker 13 (03:48):
Not so sure.

Speaker 14 (03:49):
They're going to make a move if they see inflation
even continue to trend lower and it's not much above
the Federal Reserves target right now. President Trump does have
a very good point that they should be cutting rage
now rather than waiting.

Speaker 12 (04:03):
President is called on the Fed to cut rates by
a full point since inflation is down and employment is up.
The Fed's next meeting is in July. Coryolson News Radio
seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (04:12):
Shock futures are down across the board, this morning, the
doubt off by one hundred and sixty five. It is
now five oh four. Rhinos are a national problem now.
A new study shows that many elected Red state Republicans
are further left than their constituents.

Speaker 15 (04:28):
One of the reasons for this is Red state Republicans
simply think they can get away with it.

Speaker 16 (04:32):
The Republican's going to win regardless depending on what the
district is, so they don't feel the need to actually
govern in the way that they were elected.

Speaker 15 (04:40):
Political strategist Nick Linquist also pointed to straight ticket voting
as a factor in all this.

Speaker 16 (04:45):
You can check one box and that will automatically have
you vote for every candidate in the party that you want.

Speaker 5 (04:53):
He says.

Speaker 15 (04:54):
The solution is for conservatives to get more involved in
the primaries and root out Rhinos before the general election.

Speaker 5 (05:00):
Canaan News Radio seven forty KRH.

Speaker 6 (05:02):
Thank you Ethan. Fort Bend County Judge K. P. George
switches parties and is now a Republican, telling KTRH the
Democrat Party left him.

Speaker 17 (05:10):
I felt that party is aligned with my values, but
I realize that it's not, and they continue to spend
all the money and their values at defense and now
they're weaponizing the justice system.

Speaker 6 (05:22):
Keep in mind he's currently facing money laundering charges after
accepting a plea for making fake and racist social media
posts during his twenty twenty two re election campaign. Now,
she still hasn't officially left the Democrat Party, but former
Harris County GA Kim Ogg is calling for a Republican
takeover of Harris County next year.

Speaker 5 (05:42):
Which sounds great, But.

Speaker 18 (05:44):
When you come out and say that you're supporting a
nice Parker, a Democrat, for the highest county position in
Harris County, I have questions about how committed you are
to tourney in the county red.

Speaker 19 (05:53):
That's Attorney Jared Woodfell, the former chair of the Harris
County GOP.

Speaker 18 (05:59):
First and foremost to make sure that there's a Republican
running against every single Democrat.

Speaker 5 (06:03):
So there are a lot of.

Speaker 18 (06:04):
Things that the local party is going to have to
do if we want to turn this county.

Speaker 19 (06:07):
Red, including a Republican county judge Jeff Bigs News Radio
seven forty k TRIE.

Speaker 6 (06:15):
And in the City of Houston, patrise Lee, the former
Houston water employee that got ten years in jail for kickbacks, Well,
she's eligible for parole next month and she's only served
five months in jail.

Speaker 20 (06:27):
I think when you look at public corruption, you would
hope that there would be a little bit. It's more
of a heavy hand when it comes to this kind
of stuff, because these are people would bestow in our
public trust and that we hold to a high regard.
And it's frustrating to see, even if it is state law.

Speaker 6 (06:38):
Charles Blaine of Urban Reforms has not taking these kind
of crime seriously erodes the trust in government. Coming up
on five oh seven, the Astros beat up on the
A's eleven to four pregame. Tonight at eight here on KTRH,
the Stros increased their lead over the Mariners in the
al West to five and a half games. I'm Cliff
Saunders on Houston's News whether in Track Fix Station News

(07:01):
Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
This is Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
All right, seven minutes after five o'clock. Good morning to you,
Bob Frand sitting in for Jimmy. It is good to
be with you on this nineteenth morning of the sixth
month in the year of our Lord twenty twenty five.
Some people like to call it June teenth it's been
made a federal holiday, and of course we know why
we commemorate June nineteenth.

Speaker 21 (07:30):
I don't know if what pe Goldberg does, though.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
However, I'm going to start this morning with the insanity
that is the View, and I want you to listen
if you don't think that the racial divide in the
United States is being advanced and fomented by the American
left on this day in which again it's commemorating the
word finally getting to the last slaves. And of course

(07:55):
it was here, it was in Texas that emancipation had happened.
If you don't think the left is literally continuing to
try to fuel racial division in this country, I want
you to listen to this all out brawl on the
View with Whoopy Goldberg comparing living is a black person
in the United States of America today to living as

(08:16):
an oppressed Iranian person.

Speaker 22 (08:19):
Listen, let's just remember too, the Iranians literally throw gay
people off of buildings. They don't assert a basic humans.

Speaker 23 (08:26):
Let's not Let's not do that. Let's not do that,
because if we start with that, we have we have
been known in this country to tie gay folks to the.

Speaker 5 (08:36):
HEYI but where Iran.

Speaker 21 (08:42):
People.

Speaker 5 (08:43):
So it's not even the same.

Speaker 23 (08:45):
I couldn't that's not what you mean to say.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
It's Alissa Parrah Griffin, by the way, arguing with whoope here,
trying to tell her you don't understand the oppression that
goes on in Iran. Whoopy not giving an in says
it's not. It's just as bad for black people in
America today.

Speaker 13 (09:01):
The same.

Speaker 22 (09:02):
No, it's not the year twenty twenty five. The United
States is nothing like if I stepped foot wearing this.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
Young I'm sorry.

Speaker 24 (09:09):
I mean, I can't have.

Speaker 22 (09:11):
My hair showing, I can't wear a skirt, I can't
have my telling you. And I literally said it was
up to the Iranian people.

Speaker 5 (09:18):
Yes, sit up.

Speaker 23 (09:19):
And that's why I am saying that it is the same.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
Murdering someone for their difference.

Speaker 5 (09:28):
Is not good. Whoever does it's not good. So that's
why I said you you.

Speaker 23 (09:36):
Weren't saying what you What I heard was not what
you meant.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
That's because you're a blithering idiot. And I give you credit,
Whippy Goldberg. If you're gonna go idiot, you might as
well go full blithering. But you literally are trying to
suggest that state sponsored murder of people in Iran, state
sponsored murder of homosexuals, for example, is the same thing
as a black person in America being shot in a
crime by largely another black person. Statistically, it is going

(10:02):
to be that that she's trying to compare the two.

Speaker 22 (10:05):
Yeah, I think it's very different in the United States
in twenty twenty five than it is to live in a.

Speaker 5 (10:08):
Lot if you're blood not for everybody.

Speaker 25 (10:10):
Not if you're black.

Speaker 22 (10:11):
Guys don't go to the Kuran and you.

Speaker 26 (10:14):
Know what, it's a table said.

Speaker 23 (10:15):
Let me tell you about being in this country. This
is the greatest country in the world. But I know that,
I know that, and we all know that.

Speaker 5 (10:24):
But every day we are worried. Do we have to
be worried about our kids?

Speaker 23 (10:29):
Are their kids going to get shot because they're running
through somebody's.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Neighbors in other words, on gang turf by other gang members.
And she's going to compare that to Iran's state sponsored
oppression of people and murder of people. A friend of
mine in Houston told me a long time ago, and
I've never forgotten this phrase, and I'm going to use
it right now for a WHOOPI Goldberg on Juneteenth that
woman is a stampede of stupid.

Speaker 21 (10:53):
It is five ten. Let's check the traffic and see
how we're getting from where we are.

Speaker 5 (10:57):
To where we need to be. Pete of stupid, Yes, sir.

Speaker 21 (11:00):
I learned that.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
I learned that on this program from somebody who listens
to this program.

Speaker 5 (11:04):
There's a go right, there is a stamp. We could
use that to describe traffic later in the morning. We
don't have it. Yeah, we don't have our stamped up.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Plus we actually we have actual cows on our freeway sometimes, Bob, friends,
we don't have a stamp beat of stupid just yet.

Speaker 5 (11:20):
In fact, we don't have that leftover roadwork.

Speaker 4 (11:22):
If you just get up and like, well this guy,
I wonder if they got that roadwork going on by.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
The budd blatting. No, they don't have that going on.
Now we look good.

Speaker 4 (11:29):
Belt to the loop and if you're coming in from
the hard work in east side Mott Bellevue in thirty
one minutes on Misscheall, let's get over to the Weser
side of town seally home of Eric Dickerson. Did you
know that bomb seely, Yeah, he's from there, coming in
over the river. Now we look good. They used to
have that horrible roadwork. It's nice to see things normal.
Katie Mills mall into the President's heads. That's an easy

(11:52):
twenty six minute stroll for now, freeways rocking along. I
don't know if weather's going to come along and mess
that up. We visit that and I know we've got
a real way other guys standing by. I'm in the
USA Rbresorts dot Com traffic center.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Hey, Scott, Mike, since you brought up Eric Dickerson, who
was the other half of the Pony Express.

Speaker 5 (12:09):
The James James James.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
Craig James. There you're going boy, talk time, sir. And
now most people have never heard of Craig James. They
don't remember the Pony Express. They don't remember ed because
he had the NFL career, the Hall of Famer. All right, yeah,
you're right. We do have a weather guy standing by.
Jeff Marra at the Weather Channel has the weather for us.
Hey Jeff, Yeah, good morning, Bob.

Speaker 27 (12:28):
We're going to start off with just a few clouds
this morning and then a hot and humid afternoon. A
few scattered thunder storms may move inland from the golf
as we had through the afternoon. And hit a high
of ninety two, but that he did in decks up there,
close to one o two when you factory in the
humidity has beens. Continue out of the south over nine party,
cloudy down to seventy eight. We'll see sunshine to start
off Friday, then a few afternoon storm should pop up.
With the high of ninety one, let's get a triple

(12:48):
digit heated in decks.

Speaker 5 (12:50):
Not a whole lot of change for the weekend.

Speaker 27 (12:51):
Some sunshine each morning, then a few afternoon thunderstorms will
be possible his on Saturday and Sunday.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
We'll get close to ninety degrees.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
All right, Jeff, thank you right now eighty degrees at
your official severe weather station is Radio seven forty k TIH.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
It's Houston's Morning News, brought to you biden U South
Windows Solutions. Now back to Jimmy Barrett and the Houston
Morning News team.

Speaker 21 (13:12):
All the info you need did take on the day,
all right, taking on the day.

Speaker 3 (13:17):
Indeed, nineteen minutes after five o'clock, we're going to check
them with traffic here in less than a minutes. I'll
save this for the other side, but I've got more
from the view for you. Speaking of the stampede of stupid.
There's also a stampede of dishonesty coming from one of
the other hosts there, Sunny Houston talking about, well, are
we going into a war in Iran and with Iran

(13:37):
rather because President Trump is being very, very coy. We've
got some audio with President Trump talking about what his
plans might be as well with respect to supporting Israel
in this battle that they have going on with Iran
right now. But Sunny Houston just a fountain of disinformation,
as they say, or misinformation. I don't know which at
this point, but we're going to share that for you too.

(13:58):
And I'm also Tucker Carlson getting after it with Senator
Ted Cruz about Israel. I don't know when Tucker got
so off the rails, but he's off of them, and
Senator Ted cruis trying so hard to bring him back
to them.

Speaker 21 (14:11):
We'll talk about that in a moment.

Speaker 5 (14:12):
Five twenty.

Speaker 21 (14:13):
Now, let's do what we said traffic and whether it's
too sky Mike.

Speaker 4 (14:16):
Let's do let's do some north side here, and you
know there's two easy ways to get down from the
woodlands for right now.

Speaker 5 (14:23):
If you're a big shot.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Bob that's of course, says you don't you may know
is a big shot through our people who have toll stickers.
They can jump on the hardy toll road and right
in stress free. For right now we're looking at nineteen
minutes down from Spring. They have knots of toll stickerdom
would be our commoners, and they're coming down on the woodlands,
just on the regular lanes, you know, the steerage class

(14:44):
twenty two minutes from Rayford Sawdust into downtown rest of
for freeways Rock. I'm Skymike at the USA RV Resorts
dot Com traffic Center.

Speaker 21 (14:52):
All right, thank you very much, sir.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
And you're just forecast talking about some sun and some
clouds mixed today, a straight shower this afternoon, possible high
ninety two, overnight down to about seventy eight. Friday, sunny,
early afternoon storms again, possible high of ninety one. More
the same on Saturday and Sunday with highs pushing up
near ninety and right now eighty at your official severe
weather station, news radio seven.

Speaker 21 (15:13):
Forty k t RH. And now let's check the headlines
with Cliff Sunder.

Speaker 5 (15:17):
Thank you very much, Bob.

Speaker 6 (15:18):
There's a new gag order in the Joscelyn Ungray murder
case after former DA Kim augravial that one of the
suspects raped an American woman in Costa Rica. The securities
case against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton officially is dismissed,
and Houston Community College has rebranded. They want to be
called Houston City College. At the latest News anytime at

(15:39):
KTRH dot com. Our next update is at five point thirty.

Speaker 2 (15:44):
What started in your car now works on your phone
with the new iHeartRadio apps.

Speaker 5 (15:49):
The new precepts are fantastic at Houston's News, weather, and traffic.
How I listen to ktr knstead later.

Speaker 3 (15:57):
You know, doing the news is it's sometimes painful because
otherwise I would never go anywhere near the views. I
just don't like having myself being aggravated by stupidity and
dishonesty on a regular basis. So, and like I'm sure
most people listening to this program, you don't go near
the view. But when you have to talk about the news,
sometimes you have to delve in. And this is what

(16:18):
we're going to give you. Sunny Hostin is one of
the most unlikable members of the left wing news press.
I think literally working in the business today and has
been for a very very long time in a large
part because of her ideology and her blatant partisan and
which I don't blame any for partisanship, I'm expressing it
right now, but her let's just say, portrayal of herself

(16:42):
as an educational elite. When she presents these things, she
is being completely dishonest, including about why it is Israel
felt the need to strike Iran in the first place.

Speaker 28 (16:53):
Listen, That's what I think is very problematic, because what
people aren't talking about is that Israel preemptively struck Iran,
and so I think the conversation would be very different
if another country preemptively sent missiles.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
To this country. Right, no one would be uh.

Speaker 29 (17:12):
Saying, you know, because because I think that the Iranians
and the Israelis believe that Iran I would like to
completely destroy his right, that Iran as an existential, actual
existential threat.

Speaker 30 (17:25):
So they're doing so.

Speaker 29 (17:26):
They're saying, if you're trying to kill us, we wanted to.

Speaker 5 (17:31):
We don't want you to have it.

Speaker 28 (17:32):
God is fine, but you have to do that legally
and under international supposed to do this.

Speaker 29 (17:39):
I'm not sure I ran does things illegally.

Speaker 3 (17:42):
So strangely enough, the wretched horrific Joy Behar actually was
right on this one and told Sunny hoston the truth
what Sunny Houston said is so extraordinarily blatantly dishonest. She
said that this is a pre empt to strike because
Israel wasn't hit by Iran. First, has she been on

(18:06):
a different planet under a rock with her eye squeeze
shut and fingers in her ears where she can't see
or hear anything for the last several decades, because Iran
has been striking Israel on the regular. It's just that
rather than using their own weapons from Tehran or one
of their facilities, they use their proxies. Hamas is funded

(18:28):
fully by Iran out of Gaza. Hezbola is funded fully
by Iran out of Lebanon. The Huthis are funded fully
by Iran out of Yemen. They all routinely attack Israel.
Why do you think that the dome was necessary? The
Iron Dome over Israel was necessary because rockets and missiles

(18:51):
flying into Israel, which is why they have a nationwide
alarm and alert system. If the sirens go off, you
have to take cover and get into your bunkers because
they are constantly under attack by Iran. Iran has been
attacking Israel forever. The idea that Israel strike was preemptive
is absolutely false. Israel strike was self defensive on June twelfth.

(19:16):
This makes no mistake about this. They have a right
to exist and the nation of Iran has pledged to
literally wipe Israel off of the map. If they get
a nuclear weapon, that's what they will do with it.
They will immediately point it to Tel Aviv and Israel
will be no more. And then after the fallout ends

(19:40):
and everything clears, then they can from the river to
the sea declare it to be Palestine and be free.
This is not a mystery as to what they are
doing and why they are doing it. So just to
be very clear, Israel made a self defensive strike and
they did so with the US support, with US support,
with US's approval, President Trump's approval. They have a right

(20:04):
to exist. And as long as Israel I mean Iran
continues to try to enrich uranium to over sixty percent purity,
which is just below weapons grade, it's very very clear
what they're doing, and they're doing it of course in
their underground bunkers that they believe will be safe from
Israel or anyone else. Of course, they never really probably
considered the MOP, the fact that we have the MOP bomb,

(20:27):
the massive ordnance penetrator that can be dropped from an
American B two spirit and penetrate down two to three
hundred feet below the Earth's surface into the bunker where
they are building their bombs and enriching their uranium. So
this is a really really important point here. This is
a crucial time. Nobody wants war. President Trump was proud

(20:48):
of saying in his first term that he had four
years go by and no new wars started.

Speaker 21 (20:52):
He loves that.

Speaker 3 (20:53):
He wants that again, but he also does not want
Iran to have a bomb and potentially destroy Israel, and
he is right to back our ally in such a way.
We'll have a lot more thoughts and conversations on this
this morning, I promise. But right now it's five twenty seven.
This is Houston Morning News.

Speaker 5 (21:12):
You are no Houston's News.

Speaker 31 (21:15):

And forecast today sunny and cloudy today with a stray shower,
a thunderstorm possible in the afternoon. High about ninety two Tonight,
partly cloudy, low of seventy eight. We'll give you the
weekend forecast coming up at about five point forty when
we check out chupmorrow. Right now we have eighty degrees.
It's your official severe weather station. News Radio seven forty
k TRH. And now we also have the news here's Cliff.

Speaker 6 (22:47):
Thank you very much. Bob five thirty one on ktr H.
Good morning everyone. Our top story as.

Speaker 32 (22:52):
Salts on ICE officers have risen by four hundred and
thirteen percent. They're trying to go after the dangerous criminal
illegal as that are in the country harmon American citizens.

Speaker 6 (23:02):
So bring numbers from the House Speaker Mike Johnson, who
visited a field office of ICE in the sanctuary city
of Chicago this week. Meantime, in his own home state
of Louisiana, an ICE rate at a racetrack results in
the arrest of eighty illegals, several of those with criminal records.

Speaker 5 (23:18):
At least one cross the border illegally four.

Speaker 6 (23:21):
Times Now, yesterday we told you that the State of
Texas stopped providing new money to build the state's border wall.

Speaker 5 (23:28):
Is that a good idea?

Speaker 6 (23:29):
Well, much of the money is now going to DPS
and the National Guard.

Speaker 33 (23:33):
Having that secondary defense with DPS Texas National Guard is
very important to the state and a very important partnership
to the US four Patrol and keep an America safe.

Speaker 6 (23:42):
Terrell County Sheriff Thatteus Cleveland said that while Texas is
letting the Trump administration take the lead on border security,
this will allow us to remain prepared for what might
come next. Five point thirty two on KTRH is Raeli
Prime Minister Benjamin Netsanyah who says the Jewish state will
quote exact the full price from Iran after an Israeli

(24:03):
hospital took a direct hit from a missile attack overnight.

Speaker 34 (24:06):
The Siroka Hospital in the city of Berthsheva is still
on fire.

Speaker 5 (24:11):
First responders are on the scene.

Speaker 18 (24:13):
There is significant damage following the Sarranian ballistic missile stripe.

Speaker 6 (24:17):
Fox's Trey yinks we do not have the exact casualty number.
It's said to be above eighty five. Russia is now
getting involved in this mess warning the US against providing
the Israeli's direct military aid, claiming it would quote further
destabilize the Middle East. Now, President Trump has not ruled

(24:37):
out an attack on the Iranians. Former House Speaker Nude
Gingrich says, Tehran has been playing with fire for decades.

Speaker 35 (24:44):
They have been taunting us, attacking us, harassing us all
these years, through all these presidents, and finally they have
collided with Donald J. Trump, and he's crossed the line.
He and Netanyahu are partners, much like Reagan and Margaret Thatcher.

Speaker 6 (25:01):
We're partners, Gingridge with ktrh is Sean Hannity. The Middle
East war sending oil prices higher now at seventy five
dollars and sixty four cents a barrel. Gas prices are
up as well, now at two seventy five across Houston,
two eighty two across the state five point thirty four,
and as expected, the Federal Reserved left interest rates unchanged,

(25:22):
and President Trump is not happy with Chairman Jerome Palell.

Speaker 5 (25:25):
Is that a poor job.

Speaker 27 (25:27):
So we have no inflation, we have only success, and
I'd like to see interest rates get down.

Speaker 6 (25:33):
This marks the fourth straight time that the Central Bank
has left rates alone. The US Supreme Court holds up
a ban on so called gender affirming care for transgender
kids in Tennessee.

Speaker 36 (25:45):
I think the single biggest thing that happened at the
argument in this case is when Chase Strangio, the ACLU
lawyer on it, conceded that this does not have an
effect on suicide rates, because that is what's been used
to push a lot of parents.

Speaker 6 (26:01):
Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Scrimetti with ktrh's Clay Travis and
Buck Sexted five point thirty five. Now, Texas lawmakers approved
more property tax cuts this session, but they did not
provide any relief from local government tax hikes. James Quintero
at the Texas Public Policy Foundation says that's a real problem.

Speaker 13 (26:21):
What that has signaled to a lot of liberal local
governments is that it's quite all right to continue over
consuming public debt, burying voters and billions and billions of
dollars of new bond.

Speaker 6 (26:36):
Debt, which is what we have seen in Harris County.
And that's why he says there needs to be debt
reform and local debt limits either next session or if
the governor calls a special session this summer. Now, Abbott
was in love it for another bill signing yesterday called
the largest generational investment in Texas Water Infrastructure.

Speaker 5 (26:55):
Texas now has twenty billion.

Speaker 26 (26:57):
Dollars more to fund water projects in the Great State
of Texas.

Speaker 6 (27:01):
Yeah, the governor still hasn't said whether or not he's
going to veto the new statewide ban on products with
THCHC Meantime, a new analysis from the Senior Citizens League
projects a two point five percent cost of living adjustment
for Social Security next year. That's slightly higher than previous estimates.
Economist Tank Lewis as not using the correct data could

(27:24):
short change seniors already feeling the pinch of Joe Biden's inflation.

Speaker 37 (27:29):
I've always been in favor of the use of the
percentage changing the CPI, especially maybe waiting it more heavily
on food and housing and healthcare, because those are the
things that people need to live.

Speaker 6 (27:39):
The adjustment is based on rise of inflation and would
match this year's increase, the smallest in four years five
point thirty six. If you stayed up late, you heard
it right here on KGRH.

Speaker 38 (27:50):
The one and AL two. They hits it high in
the air, pretty deep to left center. Clark is going.

Speaker 5 (27:55):
Back looking up see a letter pose out with a
three run shot.

Speaker 38 (28:01):
HiT's twelfth hope out of the year, and the Astros
late is five to way.

Speaker 6 (28:06):
And the Astros would beat the Athletics eleven four. They'll
finish up the series tonight. Pregame at eight on KTRH.
I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's News Weather in traffic station
News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 5 (28:20):
Be informed, be on time.

Speaker 2 (28:23):
Houston's Morning News continues with Jimmy Verrett.

Speaker 3 (28:27):
All right, Pop France sitting in for Jimmy this morning.
It is five thirty seven. Thanks for being with us.
So obviously, the lead story today continues to be is
the US going to be entering a war? I won't
say dragged into war? Will they be voluntarily entering into
a war by using the mop bomb to take out
the Iranian Florido facility. But in the meantime, while Israel

(28:48):
and the US talk about striking nuclear facilities and missile installations,
the Iranians continue to well do what Iranians do, not
all Iranian people, but certainly the regime, and that is
target civilians. They have been targeting with their missile barrage
since this whole thing began high densely populated civilian centers

(29:13):
instead of military installations the way Israel is doing. And
this is why we sometimes say we are not the same.
We're just not We're not targeting those things. And by
the way, for clarity, when Iran struck this hospital in
southern Israel, the Serroka Medical Center we've been telling you about,
when they struck this hospital, immediately, if you look at

(29:34):
reactions online, the quote unquote pro Palestinian, and that's a
hard thing to be because there's no such thing as Palestine.
But the pro Palestinian set, the ones that want from
the river to the sea to become reality, claim that
it's the same thing that Israel does. Because in Gaza
there are numerous hospitals and schools and things like that
that have been targeted. And I just want to point

(29:56):
out reality for a second. Never ever has Israel struck
one of those places intentionally because they are hospitals or
schools or anything else. It is hamas, Iranian paid funded
hamas that is firing on Israel from those locations, and
when Israel returns fire, it is to knock out those

(30:18):
military facilities, the munitions, the stockpiles wherever it is that
they're firing from, and Israel to unlike any other I think,
unlike any other nation in world history, when it comes
to war, literally knocks on the door and tells civilians

(30:38):
to get out because we don't want to hurt you.
We are going to have to take this place out
because they are attacking us from these military with their
munitions and so forth. So they literally try everything they
can to spare collateral damage and save lives. That is
a very very direct, very direct opposite of what we
are talking about here with this strike on the Soroka
Medical Center in southern Israel. This was intended because it

(31:03):
is a hospital, because it is a civilian hotbed where
you are going to have mass casualties.

Speaker 21 (31:09):
This is what they do.

Speaker 3 (31:11):
This is what people who do not value life do,
and if they lose their own lives in the process.
We all know what the Iranians and what practitioners in
this Muslim theocracy believe. They believe that they will only
be doing the job that their God and that their
prophet asked them to do, and if they die in
that course, that they will be rewarded in the afterlife,

(31:34):
so Israel's Ambassador of the UN said, quote, this is
a grave violation of international law by Iran, which is
launching missiles at Israeli cities with the clear intent to
target civilian population centers. I call on the United Nations
to immediately condemn this Iranian active terror. We will not
allow a terrorist regime to threaten the citizens of Israel.
The Iranian regime will pay a heavy price for its

(31:56):
unrestrained aggression end quote. The only problem with this is
is he is preaching to an organization in the United
Nations which only sanctions Israel, not nations that attack Israel.
The United Nations hates Israel, so expect no cooperation from
the UN.

Speaker 21 (32:17):
By forty one nine, let's do traffic and weather. Sky Mike,
it's on you, sir.

Speaker 4 (32:21):
We got a scunch alert, Bob France, We got a
scunch here on forty five North Freeway southbound.

Speaker 5 (32:26):
Oh, look where it is. It's all right.

Speaker 4 (32:28):

a back back back order slip southbound and some breaks
now from Shepard looks like an extra two or three
minutes down. Let's jump on the hardy till road, big shots.
I think this is going to get some extra laneage here,
and we'll get that laneage at the five point fifty
break around Town two ninety Northwest Freeway. So far, coming

Speaker 27 (33:21):
Hey, Jeff, yeah, good morning, Bob. Summer officially starts tomorrow night,
but it's certainly going to feel like summer now only today,
but right on through our weekend and early next week.
And that's going to include a few thunderstorms. Popping out
beat you afternoon. Otherwise we'll see some sunshine today at
the ninety two, but it feels hotter that he didn't
dex close to one oh two. Any factor in the
humidity as wins continue out of the south. Just a
few clouds overnight down to seventy eight for the low.

(33:41):
We'll see a sunny morning tomorrow before a few afternoon
thunderstorms pop up in the high hits ninety one once
again a triple digit heated index of possibility. And for
the week in more of the same, some initial sunshine
fall by a few afternoon storms with highs close to ninety.

Speaker 3 (33:54):
All right, Jeff, thank you, and right now eighty at
your official severe weather station is Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 3 (35:48):
All right, five point fifteen now, as mentioned Thatteus Cleveland
Terrell County Sheriff joining US now with reaction to the
news that Texas isn't gonna fun a border ball anymore.

Speaker 21 (35:57):
Sheriff, good morning, How are I sir?

Speaker 39 (36:00):
Hey one and Bob. It's great to be back home
with you guys. How are you.

Speaker 21 (36:02):
It's good to talk to you. We're good, Thanks very much.
So what do you think about this?

Speaker 3 (36:07):
I mean, we know that during the four years of
the Biden administration they had no interest whatsoever in border security.
They stopped any of the construction of the border wall
that we had begun under President Trump, and then started
selling off some of the materials so that none of
them could be built in. Texas stepped up, right, The
state government stepped up and said, well, then we'll build
one ourselves, you know, to the extent that we can

(36:28):
in counties like yours.

Speaker 40 (36:30):
But now they're not going to anymore. Your reaction, Yeah,
so hey, it's it's not a bad thing. The state's
not going to build fence any longer. Governor Abbott in
the state certainly stepped up during the last four years when,
as you described, you know, the federal government didn't want
anything to do with it. But now we've got a
you know, a president back in there under President Trump

(36:51):
that's one wanting to re engage the border and put
in more security, such as walls and other technologies. So,
you know, Texas stepped up, but now it's time to
let the government get back in and.

Speaker 39 (37:03):
Do the thing.

Speaker 3 (37:04):
Yeah, and it's pretty amazing, even without a new wall
or fencing or what have you. Since President Trump took
over in January, some extraordinary results. Ninety nine point nine percent,
I think was the last thing that I heard, fewer
crossings and I just I think it was yesterday they
said the numbers for May came out and zero, literally

(37:24):
zero illegal aliens were allowed into the country in the
month of May compared to sixty two thousand that were
released into the United States in May one year ago.

Speaker 21 (37:36):
What do you think when you hear numbers like that here?

Speaker 33 (37:38):
No, of course, Taryl County being down on the border,
our numbers have been like the rest of the border,
I mean near zero crossings. And when you talk about
that number as far as people being let in the
United States, that's another promise that President trumpet has lived
up to. No more catch and release, which means, you know,
somebody's caught and then under a special circumstance they're allowed

(37:59):
to come into the United States. So you know, we're
going to continue to see those numbers low. But now
it's time for Congress to do their job. President Trump's
done his part. Congress has to step up and do
theirs to finish building the wall and fund other parts
of border security.

Speaker 21 (38:15):
Yeah, and that's of course is going to be in
the big beautiful bill.

Speaker 3 (38:18):
And it's of course hung up on a whole lot
of other things, including spending and other other issues. But
it should not be any issue whatsoever to get this
thing done with respect to border security, because right now,
I would imagine the folks down there in Tarroll County
are loving life without this massive influx. Can you tell
me do you talk to your residents, what have you
heard about, you know, the way their lives are different

(38:40):
over these last six months compared to the way they
were over four years.

Speaker 39 (38:44):
Oh, yes, sir, most definitely.

Speaker 33 (38:46):
And of course, but before I retired from the Border
of Trol trich Over sure if I actually ran the
station in Terroll County, the Centers of Border Patrol station
and and you know, the last four years, like other
locations along the border, and we had record levels of crossing, but.

Speaker 39 (39:01):
Our landowners were the ones are.

Speaker 33 (39:03):
Primarily affected because Tarroll County, even though it's the tenth
largest county in the state, we're very.

Speaker 39 (39:07):
Rural and we don't have a lot of population.

Speaker 33 (39:09):
But you know, the good thing is we're not we're
not going out into having to correspond to people crossing
the border legally or even deaths. You know, we had
a lot of death in Tarroll County due to the
hut and remote area that it is. So all all around,
it's been very good.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
Yeah, And I would imagine all of your ranchers and
those you know who own property in in Tarroll County again,
it's seeing fewer numbers of people coming across. And you know,
as you point out, you know they are putting themselves
in harms way obviously in the in the in the
heat in these rural areas, and you see a lot
of deaths, but they also do a lot of damage
to the land. They do a lot of damage to

(39:48):
the property. Is they're on their way up through to
get into another area. Are they are the ranchers and
the folks down there in Tarroll County talking to you
about that, Are they reporting were fewer incidents, fewer amounts
of damage and so on and so forth as the
migrants worked their way up north.

Speaker 33 (40:06):
You know, Bob, that's a great point that I did
leave off because again, you know, the the ranchers are
the ones that that suffer the most, if you will,
because of the tracks that's left behind, and it's harmful
to their their livestock, whether it's you know, the domestic
livestock or the wildlife.

Speaker 39 (40:23):
In the area.

Speaker 33 (40:24):
And then you have to talk about also their infrastructure,
their their water lines and their fences that get damaged.
Soh No, definitely it has been less impactful on them.
And again even when it when it was at a
higher level. The state again stepped up and created a
program to help reimburse that owners that do have damage
to their properties such as cut fences and cut water lines.

(40:46):
So no, they're they're they're definitely have been relieved of
that at this point. But my my thing is always
how again sustain this because if President Trump, you know,
is able to continue to keep these numbers down low,
the next president that comes in, are they going to also,
you know, focus on border security. So again that's why

(41:09):
I say it's time for Congress to really enact and
fund border security and let's get this sting wrapped up.

Speaker 39 (41:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
Amen, And that's that's what the big beautiful bill is
all about. It's a huge part of it anyways, about
that border security, so that it isn't something that can
just be undone by the next president by way of
an executive order. I can't tell you how I app
I am for you and every resident in a border
city or a border county because of all of the
which you've had to endure with that massive invasion over
the course of the last four years. Life has got

(41:36):
to be so much more peaceful and safe and secure
down there because of this, so we're so glad to
know that. And Sheriff Cleveland, thank you as much for
coming on and sharing the news with us.

Speaker 39 (41:45):
Thank you, Bob, God bless you.

Speaker 3 (41:47):

other conservative minded individuals have been very disappointed with some
of the decisions made in what is supposed to be
a six to three court with respect To republican. APPOINTEES

(49:34):
i don't like to call them conservative justices versus liberal,

Speaker 3 (49:42):

leadership and Urge republicans to reclaimed the county in twenty twenty.

Speaker 21 (58:01):
Six question is is how did you get this? WAY
i wanted to.

Speaker 3 (58:04):
Ask Jared wood filled that Question attorney Former Harris COUNTY
gop Chair jared good, Morning good to talk to.

Speaker 21 (58:10):
You how are, you?

Speaker 30 (58:11):
Sir great to be with you this, Morning, bob thanks
for having me.

Speaker 3 (58:14):
On so AS i understand, it everything by twenty eighteen was,
blue but for twenty five years before, that everything was,
red Kim ogg, said we had been a conservative red
county for, many many.

Speaker 21 (58:27):
Years what happened in twenty? Eighteen why did things? Flip?

Speaker 5 (58:30):
Then, well you, KNOW i think we got.

Speaker 8 (58:33):
Away from THE baki and tackling of, politics from the
voter registration and what we call THE gotv or getting
out the, vote you, know going door to door talking
to our neighbors and, friends registering them in a Hot
houston summer and then asking them to come back out
and vote that following. Fall so if we get back
to the baki attacking the politics and making sure that

(58:53):
we have people running in every single. Position so if
you look at the last election, cycle we picked up
some benches In Harris, county but we left a whole
lot of benches unchallenged.

Speaker 30 (59:04):
Vacant so if you don't show, up you can't.

Speaker 8 (59:07):
Win so it's incumbent upon our local party and others
to make sure that we Have republicans running against every Single.

Speaker 30 (59:13):
Democrat because again if we don't show, up we can't.

Speaker 21 (59:16):
Win so what's The.

Speaker 3 (59:17):
Harris COUNTY gop doing to recruit those candidates to make
sure that you get every race.

Speaker 8 (59:22):
Challenged, WELL i know right now they're making, CALLS i
know they're putting out.

Speaker 30 (59:27):
Emails but it's not just THE gop that's doing.

Speaker 8 (59:29):
It there's other groups now that are getting, involved other,
organizations conservative organizations that are working to recruit candidates to
make sure that we don't have the same thing happen
in twenty twenty six that we had happened in twenty,
four that we make sure that every Single democrat is,
challenged because what we're looking, at if things continue to
go in the direction they're going right, now that we're

(59:51):
going to have a banner year in twenty twenty. Six but,
again if we don't have someone running against That, democrat
That democrat's already run one without a.

Speaker 30 (01:00:00):
Challenge so it's important and not only we show up
and we have candidates, there.

Speaker 8 (01:00:04):
But we worked to Register republicans In Harris county and
make sure that they turn out in the.

Speaker 21 (01:00:08):
Fall, jared do you.

Speaker 3 (01:00:10):
Think that, sometimes you, know losing enough races in a
row and not having the right people challenging for, seats
particularly on the benches and so. Forth do you think
it becomes self defeating and self? Repeating in other, words
people feel, LIKE i can't win, here there's no point
needing even.

Speaker 5 (01:00:26):
Trying, bobby absolutely, right that's definitely what.

Speaker 8 (01:00:29):
Happens and so you get to the point whether there's
enough losses that people just, say why AM i going
to spend time away from my, family from my business
running for.

Speaker 30 (01:00:37):
An office WHEN i don't have a.

Speaker 8 (01:00:38):
Shot, well let's go back to nineteen ninety four nineteen
ninety two in that era when The democrats went. Control,
well at ninety, four we actually filled the ballot and
everybody thought that these high, profile well Funded democrats were
going to.

Speaker 30 (01:00:50):
Win, well oh and, behold there was a.

Speaker 46 (01:00:52):
Sweep we had The Republican revolution Under Nut, gingrich and
we were able to win just about every single, seat
and that put us at night time ninety six to
the point where we actually took control of every single
county wide. Office so it's time that we get back
to that, mentality that we not adopt the defeatus mentality
and not show. Up instead take a winning approach where
we get the ballot full of, folks and then we

(01:01:14):
work to register New.

Speaker 5 (01:01:15):
Republicans then we come back and we turn them on the.

Speaker 30 (01:01:17):
Ball that's the equation for success in.

Speaker 8 (01:01:19):
Politics and with that leader And Donald, trump who's motivating our, Base,
Bob so we're.

Speaker 3 (01:01:24):
Ready that's a huge. Part, yeah that's a huge. Part,
jared we're not talking with. That Jared, woodviille Former Harris
COUNTY gop. Chair what are you hearing from the? Folks
is there an appetite amongst the people Of houston and
Of Harris county specifically to have that. Change it's one
thing to say we want to get the you, know
the candidates out, there but do you think the voters
are ready for the?

Speaker 21 (01:01:44):
Shift?

Speaker 39 (01:01:45):
WELL i.

Speaker 30 (01:01:46):
DO i think they they've seen enough and had enough
of The Lena hidalgos Of.

Speaker 47 (01:01:50):
Harris, county and you, know they've seen what's happening on
a national level when you elect there's true solid conservative
who's unafraid to The democrats And Donald, trump and so you,
know a lot of these stems from what's happening at the.

Speaker 30 (01:02:03):
Top so if the president is doing, great and our
president is doing, great.

Speaker 5 (01:02:07):
Then a lot of that trickles.

Speaker 30 (01:02:09):
Down and we saw that going into twenty twenty.

Speaker 8 (01:02:11):
Four we picked up a lot of benches that were
controlled By democrats prior to that election, cycle AND i
think now it's time for us to finish the job
went into twenty twenty. Six we need to Ride Donald
trump's coattails because he is doing a great. Job we
need to continue to Expose Lena hidalgo and the liberal
policies of the left.

Speaker 30 (01:02:29):
That Infiltrated Harris. County and if we do, that we
will be, successful successful at the ballot box in twenty.

Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
Six i'll wrap with this and she brought Up Lena
hidalgo for the second. Time the quote from former DA
Og she said that The Harris county and The City,
houston under the likes Of Turner Ellison hidalgo was quote
one of the most corrupt regimes end quote the county
and the city had ever.

Speaker 21 (01:02:50):
Seen agree with.

Speaker 5 (01:02:51):
That, oh she's absolutely right on that.

Speaker 46 (01:02:54):
Now and here's the, Thing Kim marle did say the
county needs to turn, red but at the same breath
she said that she was going to support An East.

Speaker 30 (01:03:00):
Parker so we can't have An East parker Or lean
The hidalgo be in our next.

Speaker 8 (01:03:05):
County jedge we need to make sure it's a solid
Conservative republican.

Speaker 30 (01:03:09):
Leading the highest office in the, county so IT'S. Incomba
is important that we support the entire ticket from the
top all the way down to the bottom if we're
going to be.

Speaker 39 (01:03:17):
Successful there you.

Speaker 3 (01:03:19):

of the. Graffiti AND i think those are the most
important words any leader has said in modern. Times and
if you look at How reagan waged The Cold, war

(01:12:21):
And reagan is very much my model for how to
actually think How reagan took on The soviet unions exactly
how we should take On. China, now starting from the, point,
Look reagan was not an. Interventionist in eight, years the
biggest Country reagan ever invaded Was. Grenada he was very
reluctant to USE us military. Force he didn't respond after

(01:12:42):
the eighty Three barracks. Bombings you're, right he made the
judgment that the risk exceeded the. Benefits and that's a

force but he very much asks is this good or
bad For?

union the two biggest nuclear powers On. Earth firing bullets
at each other is really unhealthy for human. Beings same
thing is true With. China nobody with any sense, says,

Iran they don't want to, then you, know find out
That iron is going to be one hundred percent back
By russia Or china or both and then get us
Into World war. Three but they also don't want to
Leave israel hanging out to. Dry so the battle over
how best to Support israel and whether or not we

their nuclear, ambitions which is exactly what they should, do
is incapacitate them so that they don't get a bomb

(01:20:46):
and actually carry out their threat to Annihilate, israel then
we absolutely should be doing. That first of, all for humanitarian,

TARIFFS ktrh. Money Nan patchin says there's no guarantee of

Speaker 2 (01:27:45):

Speaker 14 (01:27:46):
Sure they're going to make a move if they see
inflation even continue to trend lower and it's not much
above the federal reserves target right. Now President trump does
have a very good point that they should be cutting
rates now rather than.

Today all, right it is seven minutes after the. Hour
good morning to you once. Again Bob france sitting in
For Jimmy. Barrett so we've talked a lot about The
israel In iranian, conflict and we've talked about The president's
role in all of, this And President trump is being
very very coy about what his plans are as far
as potentially striking iron on behalf Of israel and so.

(01:31:29):
Forth we haven't talked a ton about immigration this. Morning
and how about this. NOW i apologize If jimmy has
already played this for you at some point during the,
week but this ONE i just want to play again
and again and. AGAIN i give you a little bit
of the view earlier on in a different, context but
this is from the view a couple of days ago
when they brought On Arnold, schwarzeningger one Of america's most famous.

(01:31:51):
Immigrants they brought him on to do what to defend
a legal immigration and too trash ice into trash The
trump administration or demanding legal immigration and not illegal. Immigration,
right they brought On Arnold schwarzenegger to do all of their,
bidding and they did not expect when the terminator did.

Speaker 50 (01:32:11):
This because when you come To america your, guest and
you have to behave like a, guest like WHEN i
go to someone's house And i'm a, guest then they
will do EVERYTHING i, can keep things clean and to
make my path and to do everything that is the
right thing to, do rather than committing a crime or

(01:32:32):
being abusive or something like.

Speaker 39 (01:32:33):
That so that doesn't really work in this.

Speaker 50 (01:32:35):
Country SO i think the important thing is when you
become an immigrant to think, About, OKAY i go To
america BECAUSE i want to Use america for the great
opportunities That america has in, education in, jobs creating a, family.

Speaker 5 (01:32:50):
All of those kind of.

Speaker 50 (01:32:51):
Things then you have to think, About, okay IF i
get all of those things From, america THEN i have
to give something. Back you have a responsibility as an
immigrant to give back To america and to pay back To,
america and to go and do something for your community
for no money, whatsoever give something back to after school,
program Special olympics or whatever it.

Speaker 21 (01:33:11):
Is they just the best part.

Speaker 3 (01:33:14):
Of Arnold, schwarzenegger by the, way And schwarzenegger is not
a huge fan or a darling of conservatives, obviously and
a lot of people have never forgiven, him myself included
for when he said DURING covid and during the lockdowns
and all of the oppressive things that were done by the,
government when we actually had kings acting like kings during
the twenty twenty one, lockdowns late twenty twenty and twenty

(01:33:37):
twenty one orders By blue state governors and then eventually
By Joe, biden he, said, blank your. Freedoms we all remember,
That blank your, Freedoms take the, shot or don't go,
anywhere because your freedoms don't matter unless you're keeping other people.
Healthy he got a lot of people very angry, there
And i'm still furious about, that BUT i also recognize

(01:33:57):
when somebody's, right and he was spot on the fact
that he went on the view to say everything that
he just, did that illegal immigrants have no right to
come here and expect all of this. Treatment and if
you and if you are an immigrants in this, country
you better act like a guest and treat it well
rather than break. Laws that was a phenomenal takedown of
the leftist view members by a Former california, Governor Arnold,

(01:34:20):
schwarzenegger maybe one of the most famous immigrants in the.

Speaker 21 (01:38:34):
Ktrh, okay so let me try to set this up.

Speaker 3 (01:38:37):
Again texas lawmakers did their job and provided property tax
relief during this legislative. Session, unfortunately local governments are making
up for that by proposing multimillion dollar. Bonds texas or excuse,
me McAllan id has put forth a two hundred and
ninety million dollar. Bond after bill's limiting when districts could

(01:39:01):
have elections died in The texas, legislature more governments are
expected to follow. Suits so what happens if property tax
relief results in no relief because of more debt without debt?

Speaker 21 (01:39:13):
Reform what do we do?

Speaker 3 (01:39:14):
Next joining us now to talk about it Is James,
kintaro policy director Of Texas Public Policy.

Speaker 21 (01:39:19):
Foundation, james good. Morning how are?

Speaker 13 (01:39:21):
You good, Morning, bob how are.

Speaker 3 (01:39:24):
You i'm doing, Well thank, you trying to make a
little bit of sense out of all of, this hoping
you can do that for me and for our. Listeners
property tax relief is a good, thing but if, not
if it isn't accompanied by debt, reform tell us about.

Speaker 13 (01:39:36):
That, yeah you're exactly. Right you. Know one of the
great frustrations in the state is that property taxes never
seen to go down despite the best efforts of the.
Legislature And i'll give you a little bit of evidence of.
That back in twenty twenty, three lawmakers passed an eighteen
billion dollars tax cut that should have provided everyone in
the state with a thirteen hundred dollars tax but all

(01:40:01):
of that was eaten up by rate hikes and bond. Elections,
now this, session what they did is they passed a
ten billion dollar tax, cut which hopefully will provide folks
some relief this. Fall but what's already beginning to happen
is you have local governments licking their chops and putting
together huge bonds that are going to erode those. Savings

(01:40:22):
and so you, know for, taxpayers we might see a,
decrease but it's probably going to go right back up
because local governments love to spend.

Speaker 21 (01:40:33):
Money, So, james what would it take to stop local
governments from doing?

Speaker 13 (01:40:38):
That, yeah the one of the great frustrations this session
was we had a local debt reform bill that would
have put in place some reasonable restrictions on how quickly
local governments could tax and. Spend, unfortunately that one hit
a wall during the, session and so taxpayers don't really
have a lot of protection other than to march into

(01:41:00):
the voting booths and say no and start demanding accountability
at the local. Level, so you, KNOW i would encourage
everybody to recognize that when they go to say yes
or no This, november there is a fiscal, impact and
so you, know recognize that your vote has a.

Speaker 3 (01:41:19):
Consequence, well that's a great, point and the question becomes,
is how do they how do you ensure that voters
know that it sounds like you, know it's a voter
information situation. Here they may they may support a bond
issue that includes tax hikes and not know that it
includes tax.

Speaker 13 (01:41:34):
Hikes, yeah you know that we were able to muster
a little bit of reform on the transparency side This
november or beginning This, november folks are going to know, that,
hey this is a property tax. Increase that statement is
going to be included on every bond proposition moving, Forward

(01:41:55):
so folks will at least have that disclosure statement provided to.
Them but you, KNOW i would love to see the
lawmakers do in the future is to add a cost.
Element you ought to, Know, hey IF i vote for this,
thing then my taxes are going to go up by
this amount of. MONEY i think that price tag would
go far to really improving how voters interact and what they.

Speaker 3 (01:42:21):
Say, yeah sticker shata certainly has an impact on whether
people buy things or. Not maybe it would have an
impact on how people. Voted how would that work? Though
how would you be able to have that number you,
KNOW i don't know if it would have to actually
actually be put on the, Ballot, james or if it
would just be in advertising campaigns putting that number on.

Speaker 39 (01:42:38):
It.

Speaker 13 (01:42:39):
Yeah ideally it would be on the, ballot and you
would put forward an estimate based based on the average
home value in the. Area and actually this information is
already publicly available through something known as a voter information,
Document so we would simply lift that information off of
a document that nobody reads and put it on the,

(01:43:01):
ballot so that as you are making that, vote making that,
decision you're doing so in an informed.

Speaker 3 (01:43:08):
Manner, now would that be a county by county thing
or would that have to be something that's decided at
the state.

Speaker 13 (01:43:14):
Legislature, yeah, unfortunately that's going to take legislation to move forward,
hopefully you, know but there is nothing preventing local governments
from doing extra on the disclosure. Side so as local
elected officials are out there talking about bonds and, debt
there's nothing preventing them from, saying, hey, look you, know

(01:43:34):
if you vote for this, bond it's going to raise
your taxes BY x number of. Dollars, so you, know
local elected officials play a part in this.

Speaker 3 (01:43:41):
Too they have, they you, know said anything or expressed
an interest in doing, that BECAUSE i think you're, right
that is exactly what local leaders should be, doing absent
any action From.

Speaker 13 (01:43:51):
Austin, yeah you, know there's been such a reluctance on
local elected OFFICIALS i think. Too you, know put forward
this information in a straightforward. Way and you, know one
of the unfortunate consequences of that is that we're we're
drowning in. Debt if you look at some of the latest,

(01:44:12):
data we have five hundred billion dollars in total local
debt in the. State it's it's been mushrooming out of
control and as a, result everyone's property taxes are going, up, up.

Speaker 3 (01:44:25):
Up that's a shocking. Number you're talking about half a
trillion dollars just in local. Debt James kintarol policy director
of The Texas Public Policy, Foundation thank you for shining
a light on. It we appreciate that very, much.

The biden cognitive, decline cover, up and mind, you it
is all about the cover. Up it is always worse
than the, crime or almost always, anyway what did The

(01:52:29):
democrats know and when did they know?

Speaker 21 (01:52:30):
It and why does it?

Speaker 33 (01:52:31):
Matter?

Meeting they didn't even show up in the ones that were,
there walked.

Speaker 3 (01:52:43):

it because, well they would have to defend. Themselves listen,
particular actually you probably can't hear that very clearly because
we have a setting that is just a little bit.
Off we're going to fix that for you post. Haste,
yeah this Is Senator, Florida Senator Ashley.

Speaker 24 (01:53:02):
Moody it was a particular concern that the media seemed
to never ask him about executive actions and. Policy flick
favorite flavor of ice? Cream, Yes why he was pushing
dangerous criminals into the interior of this. Nation, No and
that is WHY i think this hearing was so very.
Important what was coming out of this administration was a

(01:53:22):
radical wish, list and certainly you can see. It what
has happened to the consequences playing out right? Now and
NOW i think we're all seeing.

Speaker 21 (01:53:31):
Why Eric schmidt is A senator From.

Speaker 3 (01:53:34):
Missouri he spoke at The Senate Judiciary committee hearing yesterday as.
Well the hearing was called unfit to serve how The
biden cover up in Dangered america and undermine The.

Speaker 21 (01:53:44):
Constitution he, says it was the auto pen.

Speaker 51 (01:53:47):
Presidency four years we had a president who could barely
string together coherent sentences after six. Pm yet this glaring
fact went, unreported, undiscussed and.

Speaker 39 (01:53:59):
Unaddressed why.

Speaker 51 (01:54:01):
Because The Democrat, party corporate, media federal, bureaucracy and big
tech companies collaborated to conceal the truth from The american.

Speaker 39 (01:54:10):
People not out of.

Speaker 51 (01:54:12):
Ignorance Under President, biden the autopen became a troubling, symbol
a symbol of an absentee president in an executive branch
directed by, nameless faithless aids that no one outside Of,
washington D. C had ever heard of and no one
ever voted. For it was the autopin, presidency a government

(01:54:33):
run by committee rather than a leader chosen by The american.
People the left and the corporate media placed their pursuit
of power above the welfare of your families in your.
Country they dismissed your, observations urging you to, trust not
to trust your own. Eyes we have a solemn duty

(01:54:55):
to call this what it, is abdication of constitutional, duty
as was stated In federals fifty.

Speaker 39 (01:55:01):
One ambition must check.

Speaker 51 (01:55:03):
Ambition if a president is mentally unfit to, serve we
need a dependable mechanism to at the very least ensure
that the truth reaches The american.

Speaker 39 (01:55:12):
People that Was.

Speaker 3 (01:55:13):
Senator Eric schmid again, yesterday and The Senate Judiciary committee
hearing and left is still, saying why does it matter
now it's? Over because policies that were set by The
auto pen are still Impacting americans.

Speaker 21 (01:55:24):
Today that's.

Speaker 3 (01:55:25):
Why and we also need to ensure this kind of
cover up never ever happens. Again that's why trafficking weather once.
Again sky all.

(02:00:46):
division that continues to plague this country by people On the.
American LEFT. Exhibit A as i did at five o'clock,
this morning The View, whoopy goldberg who is a veritable stampede,
of stupid has decided that in talking About The israel
iran conflict and whether or Not The united states would
be at War, with iran they were talking about the

(02:01:06):
plight of Women, in iran the plight of People, in
iran how they are oppressed and they have absolutely no.
Rights Whatsoever whoopy, goldberg said same. Thing, here wait what same?
Thing here if, you're black if you're Black, in america
it's the same thing as being a Woman. In Iran
Alissa farah griffin or whatever her, name is tried to

That way it's just simply unbelievable the commitment and the
dedication That the american left and in particular in, the
media have to.

Speaker 21 (02:03:45):
Racial division she literally spent all of that, time ARGUING
and i.

Speaker 3 (02:03:50):
Don't know how these these cackling hens can stand to
listen to, one another but she's spent all of that
time Arguing that america was is just as Bad as
iran in the way that it treats, its people and
never once did she mention that it's Literally the. Iranian
government it Is the iranian culture that oppresses. The people

(02:04:15):
what she is, talking about that the regime does the
that does to the, people there and trying to compare
that to being Black in, america today as if they're
still hanging, black people as if black people are.

Speaker 21 (02:04:26):
Being shot for, being black literally.

Speaker 3 (02:04:29):
They will is if gay people are being thrown off
the buildings here or dragged behind cars the way they Do.
In iran it is, simply incomprehensible which, is WHY as,
i said stampede of stupid but also, a very very
dedicated commitment to racial division in. This country it is
what they. Thrive on that is where we leave it
