Speaker 7 (01:25):
Here's Eric Shark, good morning five oh one on news
Radio seven forty k TRH, our top story this hour.
Texas House lawmakers wrapped up a marathon a week of
voting with a midnight deadline that killed off hundreds of
bills After hours of rapid fire decision, Only about half
of Thursday's four hundred items survived. Among the bills that
did advance a requirement to install AC and state prisons

(01:47):
by the year twenty thirty two, at a measure expanding
limits on cashless mail. The focus now shifts to major
Senate bills, with just days left to keep them moving
before the session ends. A heavyweight battles shaping up in
next year's Texas Senate primary as Attorney General Kin Paxton
faces four term incumbent John Cornyan the GOP nomination. SMU

(02:08):
political science professor Cal Jilson says the battle lines are
already drawn.

Speaker 8 (02:12):
Will divide the Republican Party ideologically, with the MAGA wing
most likely going with Paxton, the more traditional wing going
with Senator Cornan.

Speaker 7 (02:24):
Cornan's campaign has already launched a website called Crooked Ken
attacking Paxton. Early polling shows that Paxton is the lead
over Cornyn. The Supreme Court's heard arguments yesterday over President
Trump's executive order banning birthright citizenship. US attorney John Eastman
says in eighteen ninety eight Supreme Court ruling referenced by
Justice Sonya Soto Mayor, suggesting birthright citizenship can be applied

(02:47):
to those children is unrelated to the case.

Speaker 9 (02:50):
This is a question that the Supreme Court has never
addressed in a holding, never not in Wan kim Ark.
That case dealt explicitly with the children born and of
lawfully and permanently domiciled parents.

Speaker 7 (03:03):
The Supreme Court could issue the ruling on the case
by the end of June, as Scotis prepares to rule
on the birthright citizenship injunctions. Even if the President gets
a win law fair on end, but these injunctions under
the Administrative Procedure Act might stop.

Speaker 10 (03:20):
The problem with these other nationwide injunctions. Is it really
that the injunctions are nationwide. It's the problem that there's
no case.

Speaker 11 (03:29):
Margot Cleveland of the Federalists says it's going to take time.

Speaker 12 (03:33):
But the longer they wait to rule, the worse it gets,
and the.

Speaker 10 (03:35):
More it causes Americans to hold the entire judicial system
in disregard. It's a bad loook for the Supreme Court
that they've been letting this go on for so long.

Speaker 12 (03:46):
A ruling on the issues expected by the end of June.
Onto a Parard News Radio seven forty kt R.

Speaker 7 (03:52):
President Trump met with business leaders and Cutter before traveling
to the United Arab Emirates yesterday.

Speaker 13 (03:58):
The president's day focused heavily on fence partnerships and the
latest warning to Iran. President Trump confirmed that DC and
Tehran are inching towards a nuclear deal, so he's optimistic
the worst case scenario can be avoided. For the first
time in months. The President is also revisiting plans for
a US takeover of Gaza. Piece in Ukraine remains elusive.

(04:20):
Putin Blue off Zelenski for peace talks in Turkey, but
the President is teasing a possible pit stop there.

Speaker 7 (04:26):
And that was Fox's Peter Doocey in Abu Dhabi, Secretary
of State Marco Rubio suggesting a meeting between President Trump
and President Putin is the only way to move forward
with peace talks. Rubio's comments come after the anticipated meeting
with Russia and Ukraine officials in Turkey was downgraded. Vice
President jd Vance will lead the US delegation to Pope

(04:47):
Leo the fourteenth inauguration on Sunday and Saint Peter Square.
Delegation will also include Secretary of State Marco Rubio. A
Trump administration is reportedly planning to stop recommending routine COVID
shots for children and pregnant women. Port and the Wall
Street Journals is The Department of Health and Human Services
is expected to remove the CDC recommendations when it launches

(05:08):
new guidelines for approving vaccines. Ktr h's news time is
now five five. A new group has been formed to
advocate for the victims of violent crimes both in Texas.
Texas Crime Victims United says that they're pushing for bail
reform and remove the soft on crime judges.

Speaker 14 (05:28):
We're going to educate our community about some specific judges.
Let people know what is the ruling history for these
judges in terms of providing personal or cognizance bonds to
people who are biling offenders.

Speaker 7 (05:41):
That's Paul Castro, president of the TCVU. He says the
organization is also focused on pushing for bail reform in
Texas and thinks the effort to tamp down on violent
crime should be nonpartisan. Residents of Galveston County are once
again beginning to get nervous as the infamous Galveston Jeep
Weekend takes place starting today on Bolivar Peninsula's Crystal Beach.

Speaker 15 (06:04):
The event has earned a reputation as a magnet for
crime and violence.

Speaker 16 (06:08):
There's been one killing and a couple of shootings last year.
One of the shooters is a straight over from here.

Speaker 15 (06:17):
That man, speaking with our TV partner Channel two, another
said he supports the heightened police presence on the beach.

Speaker 17 (06:22):
I'm all for they need to do something, you know,
shut down the crime and violence it to have going
down here. That's not normal for society.

Speaker 15 (06:31):
Some residents have offered up their homes for law enforcement
officers to stay in throughout the weekend. Ethan Buchannan, News
Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 7 (06:38):
It was a low scoring affair in Arlington. The Astros
fell to the Rangers one zero last night. Those two
will continue their four game series tonight, first pitches at
seven o five. You can hear it right here on KTRH.
I Merek Sharp on Houston's news, weather and traffic station,
news Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 12 (06:56):
This is Houston's morning news. Me bear it.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
So did you hear about former FBI director James Comy,
who obviously has a very bad case of Trump arrangement syndrome.
He may be at the critical stage. Well, he is
at the critical stage at this point. He might even
need to go on life support for this ailment. Did
you hear what he Did you hear about the picture
he posted? Of course he's taken it down since then.

(07:24):
He took a picture on the beach, and on the
beach in seashells was the numerical sequence eighty six forty seven.
Eighty six forty seven. Huh, what does that mean? Eighty
six forty seven. Well, he thought it was cool, that's all.

(07:46):
He wrote, he said, I saw this on the beach.
I think it's cool. Eighty six forty seven. It depends
on how you take a look at it, I guess.
But as somebody who is married to a Sicilian, I
know the term eighty six to mean to get rid of, eliminate,

(08:09):
kill somebody, make them go away, make them disappear. It
can cover any of those things. But in the world
of the mobstered eighty six, somebody is to kill them.
So what's forty seven Trump? He DEnumber forty seven, he's
forty five and forty seven. Of course, now he's forty seven,

(08:32):
So eighty six forty seven. You put that together. That
seems to mean that James call Me, the former FBI director,
is calling for the elimination of President Trump. Now by elimination,
does he mean it in the context of restaurants and bars.
I guess it's a term that's popular in restaurants and bars.

(08:54):
Refusing to serve somebody is in eighty six, evidently, But
again in the world, in the world of the underworld,
the world of crime, which James call Me is very
familiar with as a former FBI director, eighty six means
to kill somebody. So, did the FBI director just actually
threaten the life of President Trump or suggest to others

(09:17):
who would threaten the life to President Trump that he
supports them in their effort. Really stupid thing. I mean,
if he didn't mean that exactly, it's a pretty stupid
either way. It's a pretty stupid thing to post with
the former FBI director. Right, Yeah, he's going to be investigated.
This Department of Justice will investigate him, and they should

(09:38):
do the fullest extent of the law.

Speaker 12 (09:39):
Five ten. Time for traffic and weather together. Pull guys
in black suits over here to see you. Yay, he
got a Ford Ltd? Over here? Got a big Trump
lots of room, lots of room, you know what I mean,
what are you going to do with that sach crete
concrete mix.

Speaker 6 (09:51):
Let's go to the Nord Freeway here outbound Terry. If
you're playing the home game with me, we're looking at
camera two, one four in the Transtars system. Yeah, look
at all that. See that one two left lanes blocked
here and all right. I don't like the way they've
They've got these little flares sitting in the center there
and the police response.

Speaker 5 (10:11):
Boy, that looks pretty serious. I don't like the way
that looks all right.

Speaker 6 (10:14):
This is Nord Freeway outbound at cross Timbers has met
some unseen Hopefully this is all in regard to the
fuel spiel.

Speaker 12 (10:21):
But I don't know. I don't know how much longer
they're going to keep your lanes blocked. This is outbound,
not inbound inbound.

Speaker 5 (10:28):
I can't believe that people are just mining their own business.

Speaker 6 (10:30):
And for now, Woodlands down twenty four minutes Golf Freeway
NASA up twenty one two eighty eight looks nice.

Speaker 5 (10:36):

Center from r KTRH top tax Defenders twenty four our
weather center, Terry Smith, who's here. We need to fill
you in on the weekend. Looks like today's gonna be
just like yesterday.

Speaker 18 (10:51):
Yeah, it's going to be practically a repeat, where in fact,
it's like this through the weekend where we have some
clouds around early on, then this sun shows up and
the temperatures go crazy and the humidity is high and
all that, but there's no rain through Monday. That's the
main thing. The other thing is we continue to flirt
with record hot afternoons. This is unusually hot. That's the

(11:17):
main concern is that the heat is very high for
the middle part of May, and the humidity is high
as well. So if you have outdoor plants this week,
I make sure you're doing the right things, getting some breaks,
finding someplace cool to hang out at times, and plenty
of water over the weekend. Heat and disease between one
hundred and one oh five afternoon temperatures upper eighties to

(11:38):
mid nineties through the weekend. I'm super excited because on
Tuesday there's a twenty percent chance of some rain.

Speaker 4 (11:47):
Twenty you're excited about twenty percent at this point, I am, yes,
all right, all right, she's a betting woman. She's hoping.

It's Houston's Morning News, brought to you Biden New South
Windows Solutions. Now back to Jimmy Barritt and the Houston
Morning News team. All the info you need to take
on the day, five twenty is their time here on
Houston's Morning News. So they're dubbing it now sleepy Gate.
Ever since water gave any any sort of a you know,

(12:26):
government involves scandal, we put a gate on the end
of it, Sleepy gate. Sleepy gate was hiding the metal
condition of Joe Biden as President of the United States,
Democrats doing it. The media now blaming Democrats for the
way they reported the story. They knew it all along,
as we've discussed many times, what was going on with that.

(12:49):
So everybody's and these same members of the media are
writing books as if somehow they didn't know about what's
going on, trying to cash in the fact that it's
okay to talk about this now. George will remember him.

Speaker 19 (13:00):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (13:01):
He weighs in on it up just a moment. First, though,
traffic and weather together is a gate. You're right, Yeah,
everything is a gate. Gutty traffic gate out there.

Speaker 6 (13:08):
Sky might have been here in the nineties for pottygate.
Let's do Nord Freeway. Yeah, I've got traffic gate for sure.
I've got Nord Freeway cross chimbers outbound. I have a
bad feeling about this wreck. Just the way they're putting
out the flares, the way the law enforcement officers are.

Speaker 12 (13:22):
Lined up the way.

Speaker 6 (13:22):
We keep zooming over to something on the side of
the freeway outbound, so there's a good chance you're seeing
something I'm not.

Speaker 12 (13:29):
I know there's a.

Speaker 6 (13:30):
Wreck here, a truck a fuel spillded to go off
the freeway. You tell me seven one three two one
two tips because I don't see the actual truck on
this camera shot here. Also, we've got another has Matt problem.
Grand Parkway westbound, Riley Fuzzle. This takes the right lane.
You don't have a lot of laneage to work with.

Speaker 5 (13:47):
That's a pretty fuzzy shot here, Not trying.

Speaker 6 (13:50):
To be funny, but westbound, that's at least a two
or three minutes smash going that way, Skymike on the
USA R and B Resorts dot Com Traffics.

Speaker 20 (15:12):
Lepope elected he's Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 12 (15:18):
Yep, Sleepy Joe Biden.

Speaker 4 (15:20):
There's a lot of books about him right now, written
by members of the media trying to cash in on
something they knew about all along. They were probably maybe
they were even writing the book while he was still
in office, right, you know, waiting for the thumbs upsign
from the Democrat hierarchy that it was okay to talk
to talk about this, that you know, he wasn't president anymore,
so we don't have to protect him anymore. Here's George

(15:43):
will talking about Sleepy Gate.

Speaker 21 (15:45):
But how do you gracefully back out of a conspiracy
you were a part of. Is there a bigger scandal
in the history of the Democratic Party than what they
tried to do with Joe Biden?

Speaker 12 (15:55):
You would say no.

Speaker 22 (15:56):
I would say Lynnon Johnson was a walking scandal.

Speaker 12 (15:58):
But that's a different that's a different no matter.

Speaker 21 (16:00):
I mean, it's the one thing in nineteen nineteen when
Woodrow Wilson had had a stroke, but he was hidden
and no one saw him, no one interacted with him.
We had a White House staff them about one twentieth
the size of today's. In nineteen forty four, when Roosevelt
ran for re election, and his doctors probably knew he
could not conceivably finish a fourth Servey died weeks into it.

(16:21):
At least people didn't think he was incapable at that
point of being commander in chief. They said, we don't
know how longing gone being commander in chief. This is different.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
This is different.

Speaker 22 (16:31):
It's also different because of the media aspect of this.
Right that we said last night that the real scandal
here is the media cover up, not the Democratic Party's
cover up. But it brings up an important point because
in these books or all of these tidbits from Democrats
members of the administration.

Speaker 1 (16:47):
A cabinet secretary says he was.

Speaker 22 (16:48):
Completely out of it and we had no idea what
would happen anonymously. Wouldn't the media's job now be to
find out who these people were and to hold them
to account.

Speaker 12 (17:00):
I think so.

Speaker 21 (17:00):
But since they're trying to uncover themselves, and it's rather embarrassing,
if nothing else, readers of my column learned the following.
About three years ago, Joe Biden decided unilaterally without Congress,
to spend effectively four hundred million dollars by forgiving four
billion dollars worth of student loans. This was before when

(17:22):
he started this and before the Supreme Court swallowed him down.
He calls some students into the Oval office to celebrate
this great achievement. To them, he said, I barely got
it passed by just a few votes. There were no votes,
nothing was passed. It was a unilateral action, which raises
the question did he know what was going on in

(17:44):
the White House at that time?

Speaker 4 (17:47):
My guess is no. He might have been told by
his wife or his aides that had been a congressional vote.
He might have actually thought that.

Speaker 12 (18:01):
Mean.

Speaker 4 (18:01):
But that does I tell you how out of touch
he really was. He wasn't running anything. This is going
to go down at some point in history. This will
go down as one of the biggest, if not the
biggest presidential scandals in history. A four year term by
guy who was incapable of being President of the United States,

(18:22):
and in the government that was a shadow government that
was being run by I guess department heads and certain
key members at the White House. Five twenty six. Time
to take a look at your money. Happy Friday, Jeff Bellinger.

Speaker 23 (18:35):

Here's Eric Sharp, Good morning five thirty one on news
Radio seven forty k trh Our top story this hour.
President Donald Trump concludes his Middle East trip with a
final stop in the UAE.

Speaker 27 (20:52):
The President touring the Abrahamic House course, home to a
church synagogue in Mosque. The President sitting here meeting with
the president of the Knight Arab Emirates, getting ready to
wrap up the trip.

Speaker 28 (21:03):
And it's been a very successful one.

Speaker 12 (21:05):
You know.

Speaker 28 (21:05):
Let's read the receipts. Over six hundred.

Speaker 27 (21:07):
Billion dollars pledged from the Saudis, from the Crown Prince,
the Katari's kicking in another one point two trillion dollars,
of course, the largest deal in Boeing's history. The Katari's
wanting hundreds of aircraft. And here in the Night Arab Emirates,
not only are there more than two hundred billion dollars
in secured investment in the United States, which means jobs
back home, but also they're pledging one point four trillion

(21:29):
over the next decade.

Speaker 7 (21:31):
And that was Fox's Lucas Tomlinson from Abu Dhabi. During
his trip, President Trump made it a point to Middle
East nations that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon averty
Special Envoy to the Middle East, Morgan Ortigas on Fox
News says that the President has been clear on that stance.

Speaker 29 (21:48):
You know, President Trump, if you've been listening to him
for these past ten years that he's been in public life,
he always wants to resolve things peacefully.

Speaker 7 (21:57):
The State Department is calling talks between the US and
Ron constructive. Iron's foreign minister says that their right to
enrich uranium is a red line in nuclear talks and
will not be something they conceive. Trump administration recently canceled
four hundred and fifty million dollars in grants for Harvard
University as part of its effort to combat anti Semitism
on college campuses. Education Secretary Linda McMahon says that Harvard

(22:21):
has failed to change its practices.

Speaker 30 (22:23):
We have gone in to investigate. We wanted to sit
down with President Garber. I spoke with him. We were
going to sit down and discuss these things. And we
had sent a letter a sort of enumerating some of
the things and ask him to come to the table.
And his answer was a lawsuit.

Speaker 7 (22:40):
Trump administration has also cut more than two billion dollars
in grants to Harvard Institution. Since the administration is withholding
federal money is leverage for control of academic decision making.
The Supreme Court hearing arguments on President Trump's executive order
yesterday banning birthright citizenship. US attorney Johnny Eastman says, in
eighteen ninety eight Supreme Court ruling, references by Justice Sonya

(23:03):
Soto Mayor suggesting birthright citizenship can be applied to those
children is unrelated to this case.

Speaker 9 (23:10):
This is a question that the Supreme Court has never
addressed in a holding. Never not in Wan kim Ark.
That case dealt explicitly with the children born of lawfully
and permanently domiciled parents.

Speaker 7 (23:22):
The Supreme Court could issue a ruling on that case
by the end of June. Former f Beyond director James
Comey facing backlash over a social media post with the
numbers eighty six forty seven, which is being interpreted by
many as a threat against President Trump. National Intelligence Director
Tulci Gabbert says they are taking it seriously.

Speaker 31 (23:40):
Department of Homeland Security and specifically Sean Kerran, the current
Secret Service Director, a man who has been willing to
lay down his life as the lead of President Trump's
Secret Service detail for years now. He takes this seriously
and is leading the investigation into this threat.

Speaker 7 (24:00):
He took the post down following the backlash and said
that he assumed the message was political but didn't realize
it was violent. He had described the numbers in his
post as cool shell formation. Texas House hit a major
deadline last night, killing off around two hundred bills after
a frenzy day of voting. Proposals that did not make
it included a GOP backed anti squatters bill and a

(24:22):
toxic chemical ban juvenile justice reform, while some conservative priorities
passed hardliners, saying that leadership let too many key bills
die well. Texas could make it easier for parents to
claim vaccine exemptions for their kids.

Speaker 32 (24:37):
The Texas House has passed a bill that makes vaccine
exemption forms available online instead of having to be requested
by mail. Doctor Mary Tally Boden with Americans for Health
Freedom says this is a step in the right direction.

Speaker 33 (24:48):
Medical mandate, including forcing children to get a vaccine to
go to school highlates a fundamental principle of holy autonomy,
and anything we can do to allow patients at aside
their right to highly outtimey. I'm in strong.

an end. There's a last ditch effort in the state
Senate to just get rid of the Lottery Commission and
move Lotto Texas under the Texas Commission of Licensing and Regulation.

Speaker 34 (25:29):
The Lottery Commission changed its administrative roles to help criminals
rig the lottery.

Speaker 7 (25:35):
State Senator Bob Halls, as a group of investors were
allowed to buy up nearly all the winning combinations to
win one drawing double their money. His bill would also
cap the number of lottery tickets that could be bought
in a single transaction, but even that is not enough
for some San Antonio's Congressmanship Roy says on social media
that he wants lottery to be abolished. All the Astros

Houston's Morning News continues with Jimmy.

Speaker 4 (26:20):
Verrett, Yeah yeah, buy now and pay later for things
she can't afford. Five thirty eight is our time here
in Houston's Morning News, and retailers are cashing in on this.
Costco the latest retailer to cash in on the buy now,
pay later craze, the whimpy I call it the whimpy burn,
the whimpy economy. I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a

(26:42):
Hamburger today. Costco announcing yesterday in fact that it partnered
with the play a payment platform Affirm to give customers
an alternative option when making online purchases. Costco members shopping
onlke and use the Affirm payment option to pay for
items over time in installment, as opposed to all at once.

(27:03):
GOSCO members in particular know the value of planning ahead
and buying in bulk, according to Pat Sue, whose affirms
a senior vice president of revenue. In other words, his
job is to make them as much money as he can.
We're excited to offer them an alternative to traditional credit,
helping them confidently manage they're spending on larger purchases without
hidden fees. Well, let's talk about that him faced thing.

(27:29):
You know, this is not a buy all you want,
pay over time, don't get charged interest kind of thing,
which is what credit cards are. This this, This is this,
I mean, this is a I mean with the credit card,
you don't pay any interest on something if you pay
it off at the end of the month.

Speaker 12 (27:48):
Right you could.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
You could buy something today and not have to pay
for it until next month, and if you pay it
off next month, you don't have to pay any interest.
But how is this going to be any different? They're
not going to charge any interest, No, I think they are.
For purchases over five hundred dollars, they're going to charge
anywhere from depending on your credit worthiness. I guess anywhere
from ten to thirty six percent. Now, ten percent would

(28:14):
be a good deal, but I don't know how many
people would even qualify for ten percent. Thirty six percent, Yeah,
that's that's not a good deal for anybody. The only problem,
I mean, their business. And you're grown up. If you
decide to buy now, pay later, that's completely up to you.
I just always worry about these things that we do
to try to quote unquote make things more affordable for people,

(28:36):
when in reality we're just helping to put them in debt.
Five forty time for traffic and weather together, we're checking
out the drive again. Here's guy mikel all.

Speaker 6 (28:43):
Right, I'm helping out the rest of the media. Somebody
is making a mistake. You know what, I mess up too,
So you know we all do. We help each other out.
In the old days, Jimmy, we weren't supposed to do this,
but radio TV we help each other, all right. Nord Freeway,
here's the deal. You knew it first. Outbound cross timbers,
that's try. I don't know where this guy went. It
looks like maybe it went over the sign of the freeway.

(29:04):
But judging on the response and all the flares, I
don't like the way this looks. North Freeway cross timbers,
outbound g right lines block has Matt's there. I just
expect this to be for a long time. Big shots
jump on the hardy commoners do the East tex North

You're right, Jimmy, this is a wreck. This time it's
a concrete mixer. On its side. I don't know if

(29:26):
the rest of the media knows that Carlos from Friendswood
big banana stick or there's not a big backup here.

Speaker 5 (29:32):
But if you're coming over from Porter, let's do a
back road instead.

Speaker 6 (29:34):
I'm skylike from the USA Rvresorts dot Com traffic Center.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
From r KTRH Generator Supercenter twenty four hour where the
senat Terry Smith is here.

Speaker 12 (29:43):
We are in for.

Speaker 4 (29:44):
Probably what three days in a row where the forecast
is pretty much the same.

Speaker 18 (29:48):
Yeah, there's really no significant change through Monday at this point.
We've got the morning clouds, the sunshine, the weather's dry,
it's warm, very very warm, like record warm and muggy.

Speaker 12 (30:04):
This is a little more.

Speaker 18 (30:05):
Like June kind of weather for us. Just so folks
understand that while we're used to heat and humidity, this.

Speaker 12 (30:12):
Is a little out of the norm.

Speaker 18 (30:13):
So upper eighties to mid nineties for most of us
through the weekend into early next week. The heat indecks
usually the highest in the afternoon when the temperatures are
the highest. Uh, the heat in decks will be between
one hundred and one oh five, So just kind of
factor that into your plant. We may get a subtle
change in the weather Tuesday, and that would be in

(30:34):
the form of some rain. Not like super excited, like
everybody's going to get some rain, but I would just
like to see.

Speaker 5 (30:40):
A change in this pattern.

Speaker 4 (30:42):
Yeah, well maybe Tuesday, right, that's what you're saying. Twenty
percent chance.

Speaker 12 (30:45):
Okay, yet twenty percent check.

Speaker 4 (30:46):
It's better than nothing. Temperature right now currently is eighty
of your officials severe weather Station News Radio seven forty
KRH Stop go. When you're driving, how do you feel
about the the stop feature in on your vehicle right
where you stop at the red light and your engine
goes boom and it's like quiet, you can't hear anything,

(31:09):
and then you get to get and it reps back
up again. Turns out that Lee Zelden from the EPA
hates that feature as much as you and I do,
and he wants to do something about it.

Speaker 35 (31:20):
Why do most Americans despise it? And to the level
of most Americans with a hatred of saying that this
is the single worst feature in their motor vehicle, they
want it eliminated. EPALL over a dozen years ago, about
thirteen years ago, approved an off cycle credit for this feature,

(31:43):
and a lot of Americans over the course of the
last dozen years have grown in frustration as they've had
this experience where you're going to a red light and
your car is stopping, maybe you're in an area where
your car is constantly turning off then turning off. You
start wondering, Okay, so if this saves a little bit,

(32:03):
and maybe if it saves a little bit.

Speaker 12 (32:06):
And gas, what is it doing to my starter? What
was it doing to my my engine? Is this? Is
it safe?

Speaker 19 (32:12):
You know?

Speaker 35 (32:13):
And some people say, okay, you give me the ability
every time I turn my car on to turn the
feature off while I'm driving, But why don't you just
give me the option to opt out where I don't
have to turn it off every single time my car starts.
So universally, is it possible that every single one of
your watchers, your listeners all hate it? Nor is it

(32:36):
quite possible that most people watching us right now are
nodding their head in agreement and saying, yes, thank you.

Speaker 12 (32:43):
So what are you gonna?

Speaker 36 (32:44):
So?

Speaker 37 (32:44):
Then, what are you gonna What are you actually gonna
do about it?

Speaker 12 (32:47):
Right?

Speaker 37 (32:47):
Because at the end of the day, there are sort
of these these fuel economy credits attached to this but
are you gonna say, you know what, cars that are
built in the US can't have it, have this?

Speaker 12 (32:57):
What do you actually do about it?

Speaker 35 (33:01):
EPA would go through the process of revoking its approval
on the off on the off cycle credit now words
don't reward the car companies for putting it in, which
is the only reason why they put it in to
begin with.

Speaker 4 (33:12):
And it drives me crazy. What about you? It's my
question today. I rheartradio app ktrh Uh you go to
the talkback button? Yeah, you hit that, You get up
to thirty seconds? First name where you're calling from. How

the assassination of President Trump. Texas House ran out of

Speaker 4 (35:10):
Use Radio seven KTRH. All that easy money is running
down on Nancy Pelosi. But do you know there's there's
a way you can kind of track what she's doing now.
Dub CEO and and the guy who founded the company,
Stephen Wang, has been following Nancy Pelosi's stock purchases, and

(35:32):
her net worth is now an I popping amount. This
is how members of Congress are getting rich, getting inside
information and then buying stocks and sitting on them until
they're worth a whole ton of money.

Speaker 38 (35:44):
Nancy Pelosi has been implementing the infamous buy and hold strategy.
She's owning some the best ai tex stocks, including in Nvidio, Broadcom,
and some very little known ones, including this very small
company named tempes Ai. The moment she bought it and
she disclosed information popped thirty six percent a couple of
months ago in traday.

Speaker 39 (36:02):
So you can follow the individual stock trades Financi Pelosi.
You know what she bought, when she bought it, and
when she sold it, and how much the value is
gone up.

Speaker 12 (36:12):
Correct exactly on the app.

Speaker 38 (36:13):
You can see that, and we do this in partnership
with our partners at quiver quant. But when you copy
her in the product and dub, we do that automatically
for you, so you're really buying into her portfolio trading mechanism.

Speaker 39 (36:24):
So I could follow your app, get on your app
and follow what Nancy Pelosi has just bought or sold
or whatever, and use that as an indicator what I
should buy and.

Speaker 38 (36:33):
Sell exactly, and we actually trade on behalf for you,
so we're actually the brokerage. So the same way you
log into a Charles Schwab and buy ten dollars a
Tesla slock, you can take ten dollars to automatically follow
everything Pelosi is doing. The whole idea is, hey, our
elected officials are profiting at our expense, and we put
them in office, and we wanted to create a way
for any American with one hundred dollars to be able

(36:55):
to do that same thing exactly and as simple as
buying a single stock.

Speaker 39 (36:59):
How did she do specifically on May the twelfth? Because
I think there's a nice rundy that day.

Speaker 38 (37:04):
Nancy Pelosi's net worth, by quiver Quan estimates, rose by
four point seven million dollars, and since April sixth of
this year, her net worth has increased in total to
today by thirty million dollars. That's one hundred and seventy
times the annual salary of a congress person. And get this,
the median American household income is only eighty thousand.

Speaker 4 (37:28):
Amazing, just amazing. They really need to ban members of
Congress from being able to trade in the stock market
while they're in office. Way too tempting, way too tempting
for them. By fifty six now here on Houston's Morning News.

doesn't believe that we need fluoride in the water because
we have plenty of other products with, fluoride tooth based

(49:45):
yesterday is what will continue to deal with through the
weekend into early next. Week there really isn't any significant
change to the. Pattern so the temperatures in the uper
eighties to mid nineties and the heat and disease between

yesterday AND i bet we're going to see some more
records today through the.

Speaker 12 (50:04):

Today, well none of us slip forever Doing hey maybe
the realization while that realization has a tendency to drive
people back to church when they get, older you, know
because you realize your time is limited and you best
make your peace with your. Maker but young people are
starting to lead the comeback Of. Christianity Ray clark joins

(53:11):
us young adult pastor At Grace church here In. Houston
so you talk to young people all the. Time have
you seen surgeon?

Speaker 44 (53:17):
Attendance, Absolutely it's incredible What god is doing And we
mentioned in an interview that we did earlier that attendance has,
doubled almost tripled in the last year and a.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
Half and.

Speaker 44 (53:34):
WHEN i say double, Triple i'm talking about thousand plus
young adults in a room every single, week not for a,
conference not for just a special. Event every Single, tuesday
a thousand plus to fifteen hundred young adults in a
room Worshiping.

Speaker 12 (53:50):
Jesus it's.

Speaker 4 (53:51):
Incredible and these are gen z ors that you're talking about,
here that's the generation that's leading this. Comeback what is
driving them back to? Church do you?

Speaker 12 (53:59):
THINK i think it's multi.

Speaker 44 (54:02):
Faceted one being we are in a social media driven
generation where everything and anything somebody posts can go, viral
and people are having genuine relationships and experiences With, jesus
and that, experience they will post about, it and then

(54:22):
their friend sees, it and then somebody across the country sees,
it and then they want to express their faith and
so they jump into a church or a small group
and then they Experience jesus in a genuine. Way SO
i think that that has something to do with, it
as well as movies like our shows Like The chosen

(54:42):
Or house Of david they're so they're so well done,
today more so than what maybe our family had, before
our parents or our, grandparents and it's really opening up
the eyes of this generation to Who.

Speaker 12 (54:57):
Jesus, is you, Know Pastor.

Speaker 4 (54:58):
Clark i've noticed in the story that we saw In
breitbart that this is being driven not just by Gen
z but Gen z men in, particular and that you
kind of have to wonder if at least a part
of this is just the desire among young men to
to get back to being a, man to know what
a man, is to lead a more traditional male, life

(55:21):
because it's been pretty tough out there for young.

Speaker 44 (55:23):
Men you couldn't have said it, better AND i say
it often THAT i believe this is the generation that's
going to turn back To god and that the men
are going to lead the. Charge they're going to be husbands,
again faithful husbands who love their, wives who love their
children and lead their children, well who don't walk out

(55:45):
on their. Families they pick up the responsibility That god
has instilled in us as. Men and so you're absolutely.
CORRECT i think over the last few, years we've seen
what it looks like to not be a, man and
we've seen what it looks like to be talked down.
To if you are a quote unquote traditional, man you,

(56:08):
know masculinity has been thrown that word has been dragged
through the, mud IF i can say, that and men
are just tired of, it and they're ready to pick
up the mantle of being a man.

Speaker 4 (56:22):
Again and Thank god for. That, Ray thank you For.
Johnny it's good to talk to, you young adult pastor

Speaker 12 (01:04:20):
Vehicle, right and it's. Not your engine goes. Bo it's,
quiet still.

Speaker 4 (01:04:27):
Running did the engine die, until of, course you hit
the accelerator and then it starts back up. Again the
reason why you have an auto feature is because Of
President Barack obama and his, administration who thought it would save,
gasoline it'd be good for the, environment so that when
you're sitting there at the red. Light you're not putting
out those noxious fumes from the engine of your. Vehicle
but it drives most of us crazy having that auto stop. Feature,

(01:04:52):
NOW i had A Chevy, traverse and what drove me
crazy about that one is there wasn't even a BUTTON
i could push to disable the auto stop, feature at
least on myself a rato there. IS i can push
the button and disable, it BUT i have to push
the button every, time, again driving me. Crazy so here's

(01:05:14):
our question. Today you go to the iHeartRadio app KT.
Rh put us number one police on your. Preset that

Speaker 12 (01:06:37):
You you know, what, Though I'm I'm I'm i'm willing to.

Speaker 4 (01:06:39):
Compromise instead of instead of having the opt out, feature
how about we change that to an opt in. Feature
in other, words the auto stop only works if you
engage it when you turn on your. Vehicle if the
auto stop is not, on you have to engage the
other stop hit the button to engage it instead of
having to hit the udon to. Disengage it drives you.

Ridiculous what has happened in the court system, Though is
it relates to your your son's case that made you
feel like there's not a level playing. FIELD i, MEAN
i know there's not a level playing, field But i'm
sure there are things that have been happening in the
court system that make you realize just how un level
that playing field.

Speaker 14 (01:31:41):
Is now we're started off with everybody immediately siding with
the criminal and, saying, well you, know, well what did
you do to deserve this?

to provide a bill bond for as low as two
percent of the total. Bond so for killing my, son
it cost him on a credit card seven thousand. Dollars

(01:32:29):
his parents falsified.

Speaker 12 (01:32:30):
Records it was.

Speaker 14 (01:32:32):
Out you, know he was out for sixteen, months and
every time we had court DATE i would have to
stand literally across the hallway from, him and he would
be sitting there in his you know, suit on his cell,
phone and you, know defense attorney would come fist bump,
them and you, know the you, know innocent until proven

(01:32:52):
guilty was just raining down all around.

that coddles, them that that believes they have some sort
of a right to not be in the jail sale
after they've killed, somebody which is beyond comprehension to. Me,

Speaker 4 (01:50:16):
Well, okay what are the biggest. Problems i'm assuming that
the biggest problem traditionally has been the driving habits of
some of the participants along with.

Speaker 42 (01:50:24):
Alcohol that is. Correct and what we, Did, jimmy is
we had our. Captains WHEN i took over In, JANUARY
i had my captains go back to the last two
years and try to figure out where the highest volumes
of calls and crimes were being. Committed so that's why
we decided to do a six point two miles stretch
which is going to be our events. Locations and that's

(01:50:47):
why we went in there with our no stopping standing
or parking rules as well as making the people drive
one way coming in and one way going. Out hopefully
that'll keep everybody from bottlenecking on the beach where they
don't have time to sit there and drink and, furnicate
urinate and everything else on our public.

Speaker 12 (01:51:05):
Beaches, yeah they're doing.

homicides and stuff like. That you, know we wanted people
to come down To Crystal beach and have a good
time and enjoy themselves and how we need to tack

before you know, it the violence started and it just
became a just a free for all down on the.

Speaker 4 (01:52:16):
Beach, okay and obviously that that is no longer going

police and sheriff's departments throughout that. Area we're talking about
all all men on, duty all men and women on, duty, right, everybody.
Everybody you're probably gonna have more officers out there this
weekend than you would normally have any other.
