Speaker 1 (00:00):
Okay, six pointy two point of clarification. It's not a bill,
my apologies. It's not a bill that Chip Roy and
Keith Self are pushing here. It is they announced the
formation of a new caucus, which is the Sharia Free
America Caucus and joining us no. How to tell us
more about it is Brandon Walton's editor of the Texas Scorecard, branding, good.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Morning, good morning, thank you hearting me on.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Yeah, appreciate you coming on. So tell us a little
bit about this. Why the need now in the minds
of representative representatives Self and Roy for this Sharia Free
America Caucus.
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Well, I think no matter where you are, whether you're
in Texas or other parts of the country, we've seen
an increase, especially this year, in stories that have raised
a lot of concern about the Islamification of the country.
I mean, you literally look at people like the gunman
in DC shot the National Guards troops. You look at
(00:54):
even a situation in Fort Worth where you had and
Islamic ri is essentially saying he wanted to blow up
a building. Luckily he was caught before he was able
to do that. But we have a lot of a
lot of these stories coming out and a lot of it, unfortunately,
has come from people who are led in to the
country through the bid burned the Biden administration. But let's
(01:19):
lead in to come in from Afghanistan as quote unquote refugees. Now,
the Sharia Free America Caucus from Chip Roy and Key
self and Tommy Tubberbille, the Senator from Alabama, as well
as joining in on this, is hopefully going to continue
to put more attention on this. Chip Boy has already
(01:39):
announced legislation that would stop any immigration from people who
adhere to Sharia. And we were talking about this right now.
We're talking about, you know, kind of the very extreme
elements of Islam that have have really been what's gotten
attention over the last several months.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
Especially we're talking with Brandon Walton's editor of the Texas Scorecard.
We're talking about this new Sharia Free America Caucus being
sponsored and started by Chip Roy and Keith self. So
tell me a little bit about what the caucus will do.
I mean, I think most most members of Congress, who
are well aware of what Islam does and what radical
(02:24):
Islam looks like, would probably be inclined to oppose anything
that would advance the cause, what is the purpose of
the caucus? What will they do? Well?
Speaker 2 (02:35):
I think the exhortation is that they'll be able to
hopefully craft some legislation that we can get to the
President's task as soon as possible that actually addresses this
head on. We've seen already some action happening in Texas
where you had Governor Gray Gabbott and Attorney General Ken
Paxton both either calling for or launching their own investigations
(02:56):
into some of these cases in Texas. For example, from
North Texas, the governor has called on the Texas Rangers
and local prosecutors to investigate what looks to be an
alleged kind of Sharia court that's been set up in
North Texas. Of course, you have other situations as well,
the Epic City Housing development, which is essentially this proposed
(03:19):
Islamic enclave that's receiving a lot of attention from the
Attorney General and the governor. So there's a lot of
action happening in Texas, and hopefully we'll see some similar
action start to take place in DC.
Speaker 1 (03:32):
Yeah. I hope so as well, because this is a threat.
We don't know how many, you know, Muslims came into
the United States again with ill intent during the Biden
four years of open borders. We do know that, you know,
tens of millions of people came into the country, and
we know that they were represented I think one hundred
and sixty five of the two hundred and three recognized countries,
many of them Islamic theocracies and out outsourcing and exporting
(03:55):
their Sharia law beliefs into the United States as a
part of their goal of establishing the global caliphate. So
I'm glad there are leaders like Representatives Roy and Selftie
because we need, we need somebody to step up and
push back against this very very dangerous threat. And uh
and this this caucus will be a central figure there
or a central part of that. Brandon Walton's Texas Scorecard editor.
(04:16):
Appreciate you coming on this morning. Thank you for the
great information.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Of course, thank you
