Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, I would consider stealing medicaid to be a dirty deed.
Six twenty three hour time. Here in Houston's Morning News,
we're joined by Christopher Russo, Texans for Strong Borders, White
House trying to get aggressive and exposing criminal illegal aliens
who have received medicaid. How about we just arrest them, Christopher, Well.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
The reality is that most of them have been arrested
already for anus crimes, and so I agree with you.
I think that that any illegal alien that is caught
receiving medicaid illegally should be arrested and deported. Well, all
of them should be arrested and supported, but certainly the
ones that take that additional set well.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
And the other way that the story describes it a
website exposing criminal illegal aliens who have received medicaid is
if the crime is something heinous that they have done
since they have been here, they were a criminal the
moment they crossed the border illegally, weren't they?
Speaker 2 (00:57):
Certainly they are. But on top of that, not only
did they cross the border illegally, they then proceeded to
victimize our American citizens.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
I don't know how much you know about medicaid. I'm
there's very little I know about the inner workings of it.
It just strikes me as the typical government agency where
you have millions upon millions upon millions of people who
are on this system, and just like Social Security, the
system needs to be weeded out every now and again.
We know that there were thousands of people who were
on the Medicaid list that are dead. Just like we
(01:33):
had the similar problem with Social Security, we also have
other issues in this case. You know, non citizens receiving Medicaid.
Is I understand medicaid. Medica should never be going to
a non US citizen, should it.
Speaker 2 (01:47):
Well, there are a couple of cases in which it
is emergency medicaid. For example, federal law requires of hospitals
for emergency medical treatments basically any one with an emergency condition.
And then, unfortunately, you have some state funded programs where
states use their own Medicaid funds to provide some sort
(02:11):
of health coverage to illegal aliens. This is mostly children
and that kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
So is this more of a state problem than a
federal problem concerning In fact, the states are the ones
that are actually doling out the Medicaid dollars.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
It is mostly a state problem. The federal government has
made it largely illegal, except in very very limited cases,
for illegal aliens to get medicaid. Now, some of these
people that are on the website which is already live
by the way, you can go to white House dot
gov slash criminals. But some of these people on the
(02:52):
website committed fraud to get them medicaid illegally, and some
of them have received it through as I mentioned, those
state programs.
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Okay, it seems to me that those states who are
doing that should be in lines for some form of
punishment themselves, shouldn't they maybe a loss of federal funds.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
I totally agree. I think that that is a way
that the federal government can start to crack down on
abuse of abuse of these programs by these states that
presumably their senators are participating in this government shutdown.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
All right, sir, thank you, appreciate your time this morning. Guys.
