Speaker 1 (00:00):
What's not good is the No King's protest movement, which
will hit Houston on Saturday, six twenty three, our time
here in Houston's warning is here to talk about with us,
As Corey de Angels, senior fellow at the American Culture Project,
you know, I'm looking at this who's who of liberal
organizations that are behind our partners, if you will, if
you want to call them that, of the No King's movement,
And Randy Winingarten is rather prominently displayed here. She's helped

(00:24):
them out quite a bit, hasn't she.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Yes, absolutely, Just yesterday I snuck into their call to
mobilize the troops. Randy Weingarten was the chief organizer of
that call. And they call for a quote unquote national
day of defiance. They told people to quote unquote rise up.
They set on that call to the quote unquote insolidarity
with the protesters in Los Angeles. So they want to

(00:50):
amplify what's happening in Los Angeles by over one thousand.
They have over a thousand of these protests scheduled all
across the country, and I think they should call it
off after what's happening in Los Angeles. They should try
to simmer things down. But it's just really weird how
you have the teachers' union boss of all things. I mean, imagine,
if she fought this hard to improve the school system,

(01:13):
we might actually have better test scores. But no, they're
so political. They don't just want to inject politics into
your classroom, they want to inject it all throughout the country.
They want disruption, they want chaos. They have Trump derangement syndrome.
This might be why the teachers unions they're so far left.
Ninety nine percent of their campaign contributions go to Democrats

(01:34):
each year to money laundering operation. They're an extension of
the Democrat Party, So I think that's one part of this.
But also they actually receive more money for English language
learner students in a lot of states. If you have
a student who is not an English language speaker, you
get more money. And by the way, if you need
to hire more people for specialized services to be able

(01:57):
to interpret and to teach in different language is well,
that means you have more staff. You have more staff,
That means more dues paying union members. That benefits people
like Randy Winingarten at the Teachers Union.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
And you know, yeah, I'm I'm glad you brought that up.
I think that's a very important point because we have
a story yesterday about about twenty five percent of all
the students here in Texas that are going to public schools,
twenty five percent roughly are the children of illegal aliens.
If you deport illegal aliens and you reduce the school population,

(02:33):
that has a direct impact on these teachers unions and
on these public school systems as far as money they're
getting from the state and the federal government.

Speaker 2 (02:43):
Boom, Yeah, So it's it's you get a bonus for
English language learners. And then also public schools are funded
based on enrollment accounts how many kids you have there.
So if you lose kids, if you have fewer illegal
immigrants there, you're going to lose money. So this directly
affects the bottom line of the teachers union. And so
you know, if this goes back to a nineteen eighty
two Supreme Court decision called Plyler v. Do it was

(03:06):
a five to four decision, almost a split decision. It
was very close, and this less conservative court than we
have now ruled that public schools all across the country
are required to fund taxpayers. Are the public education of
children of illegal immigrants, which you know. I think if
a Republican lawmaker in Texas ran a bill to only

(03:28):
have to fund taxpayers the case it's ofult of education
of students who are here legally, I think it would
pass and the Republican controlled House and Senate. I think
the governor would sign it. And if the Democrats and
the teachers unions would want to take that to the
Supreme Court, I think they'd lose this time. I think
Plyler would be overturned all across the country, and so

(03:49):
that might be the next fight in one of these
upcoming legislative sessions. I don't know if we'll happen in Texas.
Maybe another red state will do it. But look, this
is a GOP litmus test issue. Uh, you got to
be on the right side of the immigration debate. Voters
are on the side of Trump's education and immigration agendas.

(04:10):
So I think this bill would have a good shot
to get across the finish line. At nineteen one in Texas.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
Calling for this, I think these voters are also in favor,
at least from what we're seeing from the polling that
the majority of Americans are in favor of what President
Trump is doing and sending the National Guard and the
Marines to Los Angeles.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Percent in favor eighty one percent, I believe of Republicans,
and they are or more pollings on our side.

Speaker 1 (04:33):
These organizations like the American Federation of Teachers, I mean,
they're taking a big risk with this. I don't know
if they realize what a big risk they're taking here.
This could be very damaging to them.

Speaker 2 (04:41):
If they're never gonna they're never going to learn. I mean,
look what happened with the COVID closures. They fought to
keep the schools closed. They supported the George Floyd. Some
are love now they're calling for some are love two
point zero. It's it's insane. They are so drunk on power.
They just they're never going to reverse course. And you know,
they stepped on a rake before, they're stepping on a

(05:03):
rape right now. And if I were the Teacher's union boss,
I would stay clear and focus on the basics, do
what what I'm hired to do. But you know, they're
they got into this A lot of them, a lot
of the leadership at least to be political animals. They're
fighting a political a spiritual battle of sorts. Because you know,
they they really believe that that they one own your kids,

(05:27):
and two they want to use your kids to shape
the direction of this country. And they want to use
their political power to do the same thing.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
Right now, it's in doctrination on education. Corey, always good
to talk to you. Thank you. Corey d. Angelas, Senior
Fellow with the American Culture Project, six twenty eight
