not that any of these shootings makes sense, but this

Our top story, violence on faith based establishments, on individuals
that stand for true traditional values and Christian values. We've
seen a rise in the attacks on those.

Speaker 5 (01:59):
Oklahoma Senator Mark Wayne Mullins reacting to the shooting and
fire that killed four people and injured eight others in
Grand Blank Michigan. The FBI leading the investigation, calling it
an act of targeted violence. The shooter a marine that
served in a rock.

Speaker 6 (02:15):
He drove his vehicle through the front doors of the church.
She then acxided his vehicle, firing chaval rounds and individuals
within the church.

Speaker 5 (02:25):
There was no apparent connection between the church and the shooter.
And this all came after three people were killed with
five others wounded at a shooting at a waterfront restaurant
in North Carolina. There is a man in custody in
that case.

Here at home.

Three people shot by a security bar outside a bar
in the Woodland Heights area started when the security guard
asked a customer to leave the bathroom at three thirty am.

Speaker 7 (02:48):
The mail had six or seven friends at the location.
The six or seven friends began to attack the security guard.
The secure guard advise once he was on the ground
and they were fighting and he was being attacked, he
felt so someone was reaching for his weapon, at which
point he pulled out his weapon and discharged.

Two people were hitting the chest.

Speaker 5 (03:05):
The guard went to the hospital too after suffering a
medical emergency. An innocent bystander was hit in the hand
and a traffic stop in the Museum District turned violent
last night when the guy Pulley getting pulled over, pulled
out a gun and fired. Metro officer was grazed. He's
recovering the shooters behind bars. Five h three now on ktrh.

By no means that my threatening nobody. This isn't a
threat towards no agency or no officers.

Yeah, but that is the man responsible for the Second
War at Halloween display that has many disgusted. It shows

And I also already passed a continuing resolution to keep
the government opening to November. The Senate, because of stalling
tactics by the left, has yet to take it up.
In other political news, in Comba, New York City Mayor
Eric Adams officially drops out of the race.

He said, I'm going to put my personally ambition aside
for the good of the city because he's afraid of
the result if mister Mamdani would have win the.

Election Andrew Cuomo's reaction.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
He still trails Socialists or on Mom Donny by double
digits with five weeks left in the campaign. The Republican
candidate Kurtis Sliwa remains in the race. When Texans go
to the polls in November, they'll be voting on a
proposed amendment to the Constitution allowing judges to deny bail
to more bad guys.

It has become starkly clear that our local officials making
bailed determinations day in and day out, need this tool.

State Senator Joan Hoffman there.

This is one of seventeen constitutional amendments on the ballot
that is this November, as for next November. Some say
it could bury Democrats for a generation.

They'll have to choose whether or not to completely surrender
to their radical base.

Their energy comes from the populist socialist wing, and that
will turn a lot of people off. It is truly
a problem for Democrats.

Political consultant Luke Miscia says that's why embracing their radical
base will hurt them in the twenty twenty eight election.

Twenty twenty eight Democrat primary will be a spirited one.
They're going to have the populist, socialist and the establishment

It's a bad hapbit. I just can't help myself. I

analyze these things, and I go, Okay, there's got to
be a reason here. Even if the reason is just
that this dude's crazy. What's the what's the motivation? Why
does a guy for forty year old man with a
wife and a young child, who was a veteran, a

marine veteran. What happens? What happens decorated marine veton veteran.
I'm my dad, you know, war decorated. Unless this is
some sort of a PTSD type of type of event,
I'm hard priced to figure out what the hell happened here?
What what makes a guy get up on a Sunday morning,

you know, go in a vehicle that has improvised explosive
devices in there, drive the vehicle through the front doors
of a Mormon church, hop out, and start shooting and
basically burn the church down. What what happened in his world?

(08:36):
You just you don't know what happened in this world.
I guess we might. We won't know directly from him.
He's dead. Maybe the wife can shed some light on this.
I have no idea, but at first glance, you know
the motivation part. What what motivated this guy to do this?

Why?

Why did he pick this particular target. He has no
connection from what we understand, he has no connection with
the church, no no connection what's soever. Didn't go to
the church as far as we know. He's not anti Mormon,
as far as I know, we just don't know. We
just don't know. Something snapped somewhere, and you know, I

guess it'll be our job to try to figure out
what that something was that snapped, so we can try
to recognize it going forward. But we as we find out,
and here's the really frustrating part for me, as we
find out, you know, they'll probably will be a mental
health component involved with this one. What went into his
thinking about it could have been it could be something
crazy and stupid. It could have been something to do

with Charlie Kirk.

I don't know. That's one thing I can think of. Of.

So where is there a Mormon connection here? The only
Mormon connection I see is you know that Charlie Kirk
was killed in Utah by kid who came from a
Mormon family. But that's got nothing to do with the
Mormon Church. And the kid was not a practic practicer
of the religion. So I had no idea. Again, here
I am trying to make sense out of the nonsensical

and Alexandria, Virginia not exactly the most conservative place on
the planet, and there's talk that maybe Hillary could and
well no doubt should but could be indicted next. So
let's listen in to all this. The President Trump was

at the Ryder Cup, which the US lost, by the way.
At the Ryder Cup, got asked about the Coombe indictment
and whether or not it was about justice or whether
or not it was about revenge, and then of course
we get into the Hillary thing. So stand by, there's
certainly going to.

Be more indictment that's coming over the next three and
a half years the Trump administration. If you look at
the Coombe indictment, Martha. This was a grand jury indictment
delivered in al Andrey, Virginia, not exactly a hotbed of
Donald Trump's political support. There were three were requested indictments.
The grand jury returned two of those three indictments, so
I think they showed they were judicious. I think that

it showed clearly that there were a couple of things
that James Comy did wrong.

Will be lucky if there is not a grand conspiracy
charge brought. Comy and company and all of them got
involved in the so called Clinton plan, which, if you remember,
the Clinton plan was to do what to say that
the Trump campaign was cocluding with the Russians. That's like
the quintessential definition of conspiracy.

This is the tip of the iceberg.

He lead classified information to create a narrative politically. Yeah,
I think that's a strong case, but there's so much else.
Call me knew then what we all know now and
ignored it. I believe he withheld at sculpatory information from
the court because he wanted Trump to be found guilty.

Could Hillary Clinton be the next person indicted? During a
twenty sixteen congressional hearing, I pressed Komy on Hillary and
he denied that she ever lied to him.

to share Trump Russia allegation with the press in twenty sixteen.
Campaign manager says, so this is not some right wing conspiracy.
This is not some Republican talking points. This is a
CNN article from three years ago. So I think I
wouldn't be surprised if she could be indicted and finally

have to answer some of these questions about this Russia
collusion narrative and this dossier.

Contract talks resumed today between representatives of Boeing and the
union that represents machinists in the company's military Aircraft division.
Thirty four hundred Boeing workers have been on strike since
early August, affecting three Midwest plans that produce fighter jets
and weapons. No stock market records set on Friday, but
Wall Street ended the week with a positive session and

the futures are all pointing higher this morning. This will
be a big week for economic indicators and the highlight
will be the September employment report, due out on Friday.
That report could be delayed if a government shutdown begins
on Wednesday. President Trump will meet with congressional leaders at
the White House today to try to work out a

sitting at the desk in the Senate right now. We
could pick it up today and pass it.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune on NBC's Meet the Press.
The President meets with congressional leaders today, trying to avoid
a government shutdown that would start on October first, which
is Wednesday. Democrats continue to complain about the indictment of
former FBI Director James Comy, but even Trump haters think
Comy is in deep trouble.

Speaker 28 (21:14):
I've learned that Komy was actually very much involved in
the Russia investigation in a very negative way. And chances
are this DOJ has every single email, every text message,
every communication. I believe likely he will be found guilty.

Speaker 5 (21:30):
Former Trump lawyer and ex Cohn Michael Cohen on MSNBC
five point thirty two. Four people are dead eight others
injured after a shooting and fire at the church in
Grand Blank, Michigan, yesterday. Officials fear the death toll could
very well rise.

We do know that there are some that are unaccounted for.

Speaker 5 (21:49):
Police Chief William Rennie there. The shooter is dead, killed
my cops. Now, the FBI has called this a targeted attack.
Just a little over two weeks after the Charlie Kirk assassination,
Texas Governor Greg Gabbott says it all led to a
revival of faith.

We see the importance of faith being elevated as we've
seen the response to what happened to.

Now that revival would help the church because, according to
new data, the Catholic Church as a manpower problem, fewer
priests every year.

What the Catholic Church needs are good men who are
charismatic leaders, and they need better leaders, not more.

Even though the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals World that's
Texas libraries can remove explicit books, and appeal has been
filed with the US Supreme Court.

This has been a big issue specifically in Texas over
the last couple of legislative sessions, and so the Supreme
Court I think would set a good national standard so
that states across the country can have better clarity on
what they are and are not allowed to do under
the Constitution.

Brandon Waltons with Texas Scorecard. A similar situation is playing
out in Colorado, where the Liberal Appeals Court is expected
to rule against the libraries five point thirty four. Looking
at your money, oil futures are down a dollar sixteen
this morning to about sixty four dollars and fifty six
cents a barrel now. Prices did spike after the President
said he thought Ukraine could win the war with Russia.

Does that mean we'll see a massive increase before the
war finally ends?

Texas crude oil production is experience of increase from roughly
a million barrels a day in twenty ten to closer
to six million barrels a day in twenty twenty five.

Texas oil analyst car Ingom says, because our production is
so high, Ukraine can attack Russia's oil production cripple their
economy without causing any problems for US. Dow futures are
up two hundred and twenty eight points this morning, as
we'll get the latest consumer confidence numbers tomorrow. The September
jobs report comes out on Friday. That's Wall Street, though

of church attendance. What do you make of that? Do
you think that's a temporary thing or do you think
that maybe is finally people turning back to the church.

I think it's a catalyst that gets people who are
on the fence to make a decision, perhaps because if
they weren't going to make a decision for Jesus to
begin with a shooting of guys, probably not going to
do that. But other people had probably been planting seeds
in their lives.

Watering it, and some are down the line.

Speaker 40 (34:39):
Comes a harvesting time, and then you know, catalyst like
Charlie Kirk happens and people go, no, this is something
that I need to make a decision, for a decision
for good versus evil, and certainly I'm not going to
stand on the other side of that, And I think
there's a good harvest of that. We'll see what seeds

fell on the good soil with time and how long
they last. What we hope for our mature Christians who
could stand on their own without the need of a
pastor constantly cultivating their faith for them makes sense.

The Catholic Church itself, however, has a manpower problem. If
you're a priest every year, does that indicate to you
that perhaps the Catholic Church at some point is going
to have to consider doing something different. Do you think
they'll ever, consider allowing women to become priests for example,
versus just nuns.

I don't think so, but they do have a short
disparity where the Catholic Church in the last couple of
years has been growing worldwide, and even in Africa and Asia,
the priestthood actually has grown, but in Europe and America
it seems to have kind of contracted a bit. So

(35:57):
what you see are international priests. If you go to
a parish, you'll have a Nigerian priest or a Filipino priest,
and it's pretty interesting. Another thing they've done is they've
made use of the deacons who can be married, and
often churchgoers don't even know the difference, except for the
priest is the one who praised over the sacrament at church.

(36:21):
So there's a lot of the work being taken out
by the those who can get married. And then there
are the eucharistic ministers who do other ministries as well,
So it gives an opportunity in the Catholic Church for
others to step up and do things.

And lastly, you know, it's a difficult topic, I know,
but there is violence over the weekend in Michigan at
a Mormon church do you are you concerned about more
violence being directed at Christians in general?

Speaker 40 (36:50):
Yes, yes, i am. I think because the Christians have
a prophetic voice and they're speaking aup against certain things
that are going on in society, specifically the trans movement.
And not to blame trans the trans people right now,
but there seems.

To be.

Them in the news right now doing such things and
being motivated by this suggesting that if you view their
their lifestyle or how they are as hateful, they painted
that way and thus, you know, they justify getting rid
