That's Cruise on the Senate floor more than a d
decade ago, warning about the ballooning costs of the so
called Affordable Care Act. We told you yesterday that Texas
Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett was thinking about a run for US Senate.
Political scientist John Taylor says she might actually have a
shot to win the Democrat primary she enters the race.

Polling suggests right now she'd be in first place. That's
not to say she'd win the Democratic nomination, but it
definitely says that she'd have some real influence.

Taylor says, Republicans think they can flip Crockett's seat in
the first place, and that's why she's thinking about the Senate.
Governor Greg Gabbott has promised to help Harris County Republicans
in next year's midterms.

Many believe this could finally be the GOP's chance to
flip Harris County red again.

with tattoos have at least one tattoo that we regret.

He got it after drunken I told you Involvedrenking, He

his twenties. So New Pole lasts ten thousand Americans if
they have any tattoos that they regret. The answer they
got back was a resounding yes. Twenty eight percent of
people with tattoos say they regret at least one of them.

Paul also found the tattoos have become a lot more
acceptable over the years, less than one third of us
now have an unfavorable opinion of them in general. Six
percent even said they'd be more likely to vote for
a politician who had visible tattoos on their body. Six Well,
is six percent enough to swing election? Maybe it is. Look,
I got a visible tattoo in my body, vote for me.

I do not have any tattoos, never even been tempted
to get a tattoo. Elizabeth doesn't have any tattoos. Well,
she's needlephobic, so there's no way she's getting a tattoo.

with the East wing of the White House. We were
told that they were going to demo a part of it,
but they didn't say they were going to demo the
whole thing. And now it's gone. And oh, the two

hundred and fifty million ballroom is now up to three
hundred million bucks. So even though we have a president
who's in construction and is fiscally responsible, we see the
typical cost overrun. Something evidently changed with the plans. The
plans are for Caroline Levitt, she had her press conference yessay.
Seemed to be the only topic anybody wanted to talk about,

especially they wanted to find out whether or not what
President Trump was doing, whether or not that was legal.

Can the president tear down anything he wants without oversight?

Could he demolish this building or say the Jefferson Memorial.

So it's not the president who came up with that
legal opinion himself. That's a legal opinion that's been held
by the NCPC for many years. It's written so we
can get you that background in that research if you
wish to include it in your reporting, because it is
very important. They have ruled consistently. Their General counsel has said,
when it comes to phase one of this project, the

tearing down of the current East Wing structure, a submission
is not required legally for that. Only for vertical construction
will a submission be required. And that's a legal opinion
from them, and we are following that legal opinion. And
again I would just add, can any president do such
a thing to the White House grounds? There have been
many presidents in the past who have made their mark

on this beautiful White House complex. This briefing room, as
you all know, was not once a briefing room, It
was a swimming pool. There have been presidents who have
completely torn down the executive mansion. If you look at
what President Truman did, some of the photos of the
construction project that took place in those years. I think,
sitting here today, we're all grateful for those efforts and
the modifications that happened at that time.

The East Wing is going to be more beautiful and
modern than ever before.

I'm confused here are we rebuilding the east wing or
are we just building a ballroom? It sounded like at
least a portion of the East Wing is going to
be rebuilt. You know, there's also a bunker underneath the
East Wing that is kind of a communications center, emergency
communications center for the president, so you know that's going
to stay. So maybe they're just going to rebuild part
of it in addition to the ballroom and course, the

attention will be made to make sure that it fits
in with the esthetics of the White House. Five twenty six,

Good morning. Futures are mixed ahead of a key inflation
reading today. This was supposed to be released last week
and will be the last significant reading before the Federal
Reserve meets next week. Banks are preparing to launch a
record thirty eight billion dollar debt offering to help fund
data centers tied to Oracle. The deal is split across
two facilities, one for a data center in Texas, another

for a project in Wisconsin. They'll be used to power
open AI targets, eliminating about eight percent of corporate roles
and its first major restructuring in years. The retail giant's
cutting eighteen hundred rolls across various teams and seniority levels,
which includes layoffs and the closing of eight hundred open roles.

information from Texas A and M shows we're spending.

Texas Values. I'm looking at this research piece from Pew,
Jonathan that says a growing share of US adults say
religion is gaining influence in American life. I assume they're

talking about their own personal experiences.

What do you think, Yeah, listen, I think we're seeing
evidence of it all around us. I mean there are
reports that Bible cells are up, that you know, reports
of people going back to church on a regular basis.
Those numbers are up. And it's interesting because around this
time every year, I usually do an interview with your
station or others where they're talking about that religion is

(34:53):
on the decline, and so it's great to see that
that trend has been reversed. I believe that it has
something to do in part with what happens in our
elective government and in our state legislatures. You know, in Texas,
we've passed some religious freedom laws to pass a couple
of different legislative sessions.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
We've got a new law that has the Ten Commandments being.

Speaker 35 (35:16):
Displayed in our public school classrooms, that has protected prayer
for students and employees in public schools.

Speaker 4 (35:24):
And you know, Supreme Court decisions.

Speaker 35 (35:26):
We've had Supreme Court decisions the past two or three
years that have held religious freedom. So when you have
that type of protection, I think it sends a message
too for people that their freedoms are protected, they're more
likely to express it. But I think there's been a
lot of conflict, you know, going through COVID and some
of those things the past few years a few years
ago have led people to look inward. And also sometimes

(35:50):
when you go through a lot of struggles, you look
for something that you can count on and something that's
consistent and that's I think in part leading people back
to their faith and sometimes their Christian faith.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
And I think too, Jonathan, you can't discount the Charlie
Kirk assassination, and maybe even more than his assassination, but
the funeral, the remembrance that was carried by the virtually
all the news of this certainly was covered to cover
on Fox News. I think people watched that and they
got a very positive religious message from it on forgiveness

(36:23):
and a lot of other things. And I think people
were comforted by that and realized that there was something
missing in their lives.

Speaker 35 (36:30):
Well, there's no doubt been a Charlie Kirk effect as
it relates to people buying bibles, going back to church,
discovering their faith for the first time, or going back
to it, almost an accelerator. I wish that wasn't the reason.
And I think the assassination of Charlie Kirk has been awful.
You know, in our organization, Texas Values, did a lot

(36:51):
of work during the state legislature on religious freedom. We
had an event three weeks ago where we talked about
the Charlie Kirk effect and so on. I think that
allowed people to publicly get more involved in their faith,
if you will. But to see all these leaders, you know,
you saw the vice president, the Secretary of State talking
so clearly about their religious faith and oftentimes about their

(37:14):
Christian faith. You know, hundreds of thousands of people at
this event in Phoenix, Arizona, the memorial for Charlie Kirk.
I believe that had something to do with people getting
more involved in their faith. And you know, I think
this was a trend that was already starting, but like
I said, I think this was an accelerator and I
think it's something people are going to be thinking about

(37:34):
in this election cycle. You know, do our candidates support
that religious freedom? And I also think it's interesting too
after the assassination of Charlie Kirk, sadly awful occurrence, but
the response to that was people of faith that were
doing those types of things peacefully. You didn't see you know,
cities being you know, burned down and looting. You saw

(37:57):
people going back to church more and more reflective. And
a lot of that had to do with what Charlie
Kirk was doing in his own life the past year
or two. I think that lot led a lot of
young people back to their faith or for the first time,
and a lot of that trend that you're reading in
those polls has to do with gen Z and also
millennials getting more involved in their Christian faith.
