This is used Radio seven kt RH Houston five everywhere
with now the latest news, weather, and it's more of
what matters to you from the John Morris Services studios.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
Well, good morning, five am is our time here on
Houston's Morning News. I'm Jimmy Barrett. Among our top stories.
As we get started this morning, Trump looks to the
Supreme Court for terror for relief. Does the castle doctrine
even apply to the Ding Dong ditch shooting? And coming
up at five oh eight, nobody won power Ball again.
But let's pretend you did. Details in the minutes, sayhead,

(00:37):
you're in Houston's Morning News. First, we're gonna check it
with Skyline. I'm rebuilding Astro World. Let's go to the
Southwest Freeway. We've got some leftovers from last night. That
was side between.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
I wish we had was beans and rice, but no,
we have beach nut and Foundering and that's roadwork. Just
a left lane getting by North found I think they'll
have that up shortly. Stay the course on the Southwest Freeway.
Even with that, you're getting by and it's nineteen minut
it's from Sugarland up into downtown to eighty eight.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Who look out Stephen F.

Speaker 3 (01:03):

Speaker 2 (01:13):
From our KTRH Top Tax Defenders twenty four hour wather's
under sunny and hot with the high temperature today right
about ninety eight. We'll get the terry in here with
the complete forecast in about nine minutes right now seventy
four at your official severe weather station, News Radio seven
forty k TRH. It's time now for the news. Here's Cliffsalkors.
Thank you, Jimmy. Good morning everyone.

Speaker 4 (01:34):
It's five oh one on KTRH, your top story. As promised,
President Trump goes to the US Supreme Court asking them
for an urgent ruling on whether or not he can
impost tariffs. The Heritage Foundation Steve Moore says, it's tough
to predict how this is going to shake out.

Speaker 5 (01:50):
You've really got the strict constructionists who might say, well, look,
it's said very clearly in the Constitution that all tax
bills started the House of Representatives. This was now were
approved by Congress.

Speaker 4 (02:02):
More on Fox business Overnight trading this morning so far
is flat. Several Republicans, including George's Marjorie Taylor Green and
Kentucky's Thomas Massey, are calling for all the Jeffrey Epstein
documents to be put out there. The President says, those
Republican lawmakers just fell for a Democrat trap.

Speaker 6 (02:21):
But it's really a Democrat hoax because they're trying to
get people to talk about something that's totally irrelevant to
the success that we've had as a nation since I've
been president.

Speaker 4 (02:32):
Several victims of Epstein spoke out yesterday, along with Massey
and California Democrat Rocana. Trump is once again fighting the
conservative bias that is online, and this time it's coming
from Wikipedia.

Speaker 7 (02:45):
One reason zero conservative sources are deemed by Wikipedia to
be reliable. That's according to Media Resource centers Michael Morris,
and artificial intelligence is increasingly using Wikipedia for.

Speaker 8 (02:58):
Its Answers were quote more likely to end their browsing
session entirely after visiting a search page with an AI
summary than pages without a summary.

Speaker 7 (03:07):
We checked one AI source and it said Wikipedia's fairness
is subject to debate. Mike Shiloh News Radio seven k
TRI it.

Speaker 4 (03:16):
Is now five h three on KTRH, top Justice Department officials,
including US Attorney janeen Piro, announced the largest law enforcement
bust of precursor chemicals bound for a foreign terrorist organization.

Speaker 9 (03:31):
That bust was here in Houston, a.

Speaker 10 (03:33):
Very significant seizure of two shipments of chemicals shipped on
two different vessels on the high seas and route to
the Sinaloa cartel in Mexico.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
The chemicals originated in China. The announcement comes a day
after the President ordered to strike on a Venezuelan drug
boat that killed eleven Trendy Iragua members.

Speaker 11 (03:57):
If you were a terrorist, what do we do with
i Asis and al Qaeda terrorists? We have drones that
take them out from the sky. What we have our
marines take them out, Our soldiers take them out. That's
what it means to be a terrorist.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Texas Senator Ted Cruz on Fox it is now five
h four. The left still complaining about the President potentially
going into Chicago and cleaning up crime in that Democrat
led city.

Speaker 12 (04:23):
The White House, they are the hostile actors, whether we're
talking about the Epstein files and them not coming out,
or whether we're talking about him unlawfully going into various
minority controlled cities.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Texas congress Woman Jasmin Crockett on MSNBC, the President floated
the idea of sending the Guard into New Orleans to
help clean up crime in that blue city, and on
x that state's governor, Republican Jeff Landry, said, quote, we
will take President Trump's help from New Orleans to Shreveport.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Here at home, bail set.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
It a million dollars for Gonzalo Leon and the murder
of an el eleven year old who ding Dong ditched
his home last weekend.

Speaker 7 (05:03):
The brutality of the crime in and of itself is
enough to warrant behie bond.

Speaker 4 (05:08):
Harris County, DA sean tier developing situation this morning. A
swat standoff underway in the Stafford area. By the way,
the ding Dong ditch case has some calling for a
review of the Texas castle doctrine, which allows legal gun
owners to use deadly force to protect their homes.

Speaker 13 (05:25):
Based on the allegations against the shooter, the castle doctrine
might not apply here.

Speaker 14 (05:29):
And especially does not apply when you take your firearm,
run down the street, and then fire upon fleeing children.
That's called murder in Texas.

Speaker 13 (05:38):
Attorney Michelle Maples says the castle doctrine has very specific
limitations and isn't a get out of jail free card.

Speaker 14 (05:44):
We have to remember we have to act reasonably. If
somebody's not trying to enter your home, you do not
get the protection of the castle doctrine.

Speaker 13 (05:52):
Maple's pointed out that the castle doctrine does not even
permit you to chase down a potential thief.

Speaker 9 (05:56):
Ethan Buchanan News Radio seven forty KRH five oh six.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
Now, Texas legislative session comes to a close as the
Senate officially passes the Women's Privacy Act to keep men
out of women's restrooms.

Speaker 9 (06:08):
We'll have more At five point thirty.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
The redistricting quorum breaks stunt once again, another failure for
the Dems, and the national Party is going to pay
for it. Arthur Schopper of Mass Resistance says the Dems
showed hypocrisy and that the party message, or rather the party,
is at all theater.

Speaker 15 (06:24):
Now the Democrat Party has become an anti Trump party.
They are defined by their hatred of Trump.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
He says, any momentum they have built in Texas has evaporated.

Speaker 9 (06:36):
Five h six. You heard it right here on k
TRH last night, and.

Speaker 16 (06:40):
That's hit through the right side of base hit Sanchez scores,
Walker stops at third, derby Paynea, second head and second
RBI of the night.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
The Astros beat the Yankees eight to seven, erasing a
four to one deficit. Series finale today pregame at five

at seven rows lead to Maritors by four and the
Rangers by five and a half. Games in the Al West,

Use radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 17 (07:11):
Check you in Offen for what's developing.

Speaker 18 (07:14):
This is just developing out of the Middle East now
right now, it's developing one Use radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
All right, Why do we play the lottery? Why are
we playing powerball? You know there's no winner again last night,
no jackpot winner. There's gonna be one point seven billion.
Think about that for a second. One point seven billion
in the next jackpot, which may go unclaim. Are they
trying to get us to two billion? Maybe? I wonder

(07:44):
about that sometimes, I really do. I wonder about the
randomness of all this. It's hard to believe with all
the tickets that have been sold that, I mean, I
know your odds are winning or something like what we
what were you saying? Yessay, like one in two hundred
and sixty nine million, some sort of incredibly large number.
That's pretty hard to comprehend. So much better chance of

(08:05):
getting struck by lightning today on your way home from
work or something along those lines. But what seems to
motivate us to buy lottery tickets, especially when a jackpot
is big, is the fun of dreaming how you would
spend the money, what you would do if you had
the money. And a frequent comment that I've had amongst

(08:28):
my friends who are also playing this powerball game right
now is I'd be happy if I won one million.
Give me one million, I'd be very very happy. Of course,
one million after taxes is more like six hundred thousand
or a little bit over six hundred thousand dollars. We
had somebody in the East End who won two million

(08:51):
on the power ball, So there's a two million Houston winner.
No idea who it is yet, we just know the
ticket got sold on the east side of town. That's
all we know at this point. But here's my question.
Maybe this would be a better fun question because you
you you could probably if you really tried hard. I

(09:11):
did this once as an exercise. I pretended I won
the lottery and I proceeded to spend the money before
the end of the show. And it was a big
jack body. It was something like, you know, four hundred
million dollars, and so my goal was to spend spend
the four hundred million dollars before the show was over,
and I did it. I was able to do it.

(09:33):
So my question would be, let's do it on a
because I think the decisions are much tougher if you
take it down to two million, let's say one two million,
and you're gonna get maybe one point three one point
four million dollars in cash. You're that winner. How are
you spending that money? You can? You can spend that money, fantasize,
spend that money any way you want to. You go

(09:54):
to the iHeartRadio f KTRH MEGAS number one on your preset.
You had to talk back button thirty seconds. First name
where you're calling from. How you would spend about one
point four one point five million dollars worth of lottery
winnings five ten time for traffic.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
I'm going to rebuild Astro World in an exact replica
of what it was.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Could you do it for one point five million? No,
I don't think you. I don't think you could.

Speaker 3 (10:18):
A cyclunk or he's lightning, and then we would have Terry.
You'd have to see buffalo by you up close to
fully appreciate this sky Mike's Buffalo by you. Pirate ship cruises.
I'm the GALLERYA to downtown and then.

Speaker 9 (10:30):
We'd have a romantic ship channel cruise at night.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Wouldn't that be beautiful? You have You've got to see this.
Everybody flush twice. It's getting low. Let's go to iten
both sides. Marnhats. You've got twenty two minutes now from
the Sandra Cento River, and let's se advisors. You look good,
Katie Mills, twenty five minutes up to eighty eight. If
you win that power ball, you could afford the toll
lanes getting up from Manville. Now twenty two minutes here

(10:55):
golf freeway you can get right by BUCkies, get whatever
you want. Lamark In is a piece of Now, let's
go all the way back from the causeway and the
onlines are still showing US shut down.

Speaker 2 (11:04):
It's not there. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Why get your traffic from AM radio hit us on

Speaker 2 (11:11):

Speaker 3 (11:12):
You're the reason where the first to know what's happening
on your freeways. I'm Skymike. It's the USA RV Resorts
dot Com traffic center. How about you, Terry, do you
have a gut reaction?

Speaker 2 (11:20):
If you've got one point let's say, one point five
one point six million dollars after Texas you were two
billion dollar power board whether you didn't win the big
jack butt, how do you spend the money?

Speaker 9 (11:29):
I know exactly how I would spend that money.

Speaker 2 (11:31):
Really, how would you spend it?

Speaker 19 (11:34):
I would buy myself and my husband, and I think
I'd let my kids come to a house on the
Florida coast where we go vacation all the time. It's like,
let's move there, okay, Terry, Yeah, what.

Speaker 17 (11:48):
I don't care.

Speaker 9 (11:50):
I got money to rebuild.

Speaker 2 (11:51):
There you go. She's got enough money to rebuild and
to pay for the insurance. You have to be a
millionaire to pay for the insurance. Now, no, Darry's got
your four cab. It looks like it's sunny in hot
for today, Terry.

Speaker 19 (12:02):
Oh yeah, today and tomorrow, and then over the weekend
we got some changes, maybe a little bit of fall.
I am so excited, but not looking for any rain
today or tomorrow. It's going to be temperature wise even
hotter than yesterday, mid to upper nineties, and then tomorrow
we're in the load to mid nineties. Saturday and Sunday

(12:23):
and Monday, I'm going to give it a forty percent
chance of showers and thunderstorms. There's this cold front headed
our way, so we'll get summery, not a wash out
of a weekend. Temperatures backing down a little bit by
Sunday in the mid to upper eighties Monday as well,
mid to upper eighties for highs.

Speaker 2 (12:39):

It's Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New South
Windows Solutions. Now back to Jimmy Barras had the Houston
Morning News team.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
All the info you need did take on the day.
So you might have heard that the Surgeon General floor
came out yesterday and basically said that any mandatory vaccines
are on the way out in Florida. There will be
no more mandatory vaccines. I have the comments of the
Florida Surgeon General, and you know this would make a

(13:16):
good question today too. I don't know if we want
to have two questions today or not. We're too busy
trying to spend that money that we're gonna win in
the lottery or pretending we're the Houstonian who won two
billion dollars last night. But anyway, we'll get to that
story next five twenty. Time for traffic and whether together.
Cilton says I should get a bigger ghetto house a bit.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Yes, we could make it too, So you would rent
out the ghetto house like a strip yard, you know,
and build a house in a legitimate suburb. Let's see
the Southwest Freeway here. Oh, here's a legit suburb, Jimmy Rosenberg,
what a beautiful community. I can move the ghetto house there.
Northbound Southwest Freeway. Let's go to the west Loop right
where it hits the Southwest Freeway. Stall truck he's over

(13:55):
on the side. The problem is that's where all the
merging fun happens. Those of you trying to get onto
those ramps to go downtown or back out to beautiful Rosenberg.
The main lanes of the Southwest Freeway is still rocking
along now.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Nineteen minutes from the fountains up.

Speaker 3 (14:08):
I'm skylike at your generator supercenter dot com traffic.

Speaker 2 (14:11):
Or you could buy like a five hundred thousand dollars

the ghetto. How's that'd be? Right from our KTRH top

Speaker 4 (14:43):
The States Senate adjourns the second special session with several
issues left in limbo. President Trump says he's giving serious
thoughts to stripping Rosie O'Donnell of her citizenship, and as
Jimmy's been mentioning the Powerball grand prize now one point
seven billion dollars. There was a two million dollar winner
in East Houston last night. If I won, y'all would
never hear from me again.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
Happening, growing economy right here, good things are happening on
news radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 17 (15:21):
All right, well, that's not what they're saying.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
In Florida, they're saying, put the shot away if you
don't want the shot. Florida's Search and General Joseph Ladia
says Florida will end all vaccine mandates. That's that includes
for adults and for children, all vaccine mandates. Here he
is speaking yesterday.

Speaker 22 (15:39):
Every last one of them is wrong and drifts with
disdain and slavery, dank. Who am I as a government
or anyone else, or who am I as a man
standing here now to tell you what you should put
in your body, to tell you what your child should

(16:03):
put in your body?

Speaker 23 (16:06):
I don't have that right.

Speaker 17 (16:08):
Your body, your.

Speaker 9 (16:10):
Body is a gift from God.

Speaker 23 (16:13):
What you put into your body. What you put into
your body is because of your relationship with your body
and your God.

Speaker 2 (16:23):
I don't have that right.

Speaker 17 (16:24):
Government does not have that right.

Speaker 23 (16:28):
They want you to believe they have that right, and unfortunately, hell,
they've been successful.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
They've been successful.

Speaker 17 (16:35):
You know, pretty much every state has them. It's wrong,
it's a moral.

Speaker 23 (16:39):
They do not have the right to tell you what
you put in your body.

Speaker 24 (16:44):
From what I read, it's actually going to be not
just the vaccine mandates for children, but for everyone. And
there'll be different impacts, whether it's childhood vaccines or healthcare
workers who also have requirements. And what it all means

(17:04):
is that people will have a choice. Now, if people
choose to continue to get vaccines at a high rate,
then we probably won't see too much of a difference
in terms of herd immunity which people have talked about
and overall infection rates. But if people choose not to

(17:27):
get vaccines, then it is certainly possible that you know,
we saw in Texas, West Texas that measles came came
about pretty quickly in some significant numbers, and obviously that
could happen anywhere, including Florida.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
But also petered out in West Texas doctor Evan Nadler,
by the way, he's a pediatric surgeon and researcher. So
there's gonna be a lot of healthcare people are going
to be screaming over this. The libertarian in me says,
this is the right answer. You don't force people to
get vaccines. You certainly don't force them to get an
experimental vaccine like the COVID nineteen vaccine. By the way,

(18:08):
COVID nineteen is evidently or the latest version of COVID
is kicking up in California. They're talking about mask mandates
in California. Again, How long before they put up the
six foot signs and shut down schools if it gets
bad enough. They never learned, do they? They never learn?

(18:28):
So do you what do you think? Do you think
that all vaccine requirements should be removed. We've seen a
lot of parents who are opting out of having their
kids vaccinated. You've seen that in the schools. Right now,
five twenty six, it is time to take a look
at your money. Denise Pelgreney, good morning.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
Good morning.

Speaker 25 (18:43):
We've got stock futures putting to a nice higher open
right now. Futures up twelve s and P futures up eleven,
NaSTA futures up sixty two, shows some Knaco Phillips, though
slightly lower in the pre market today. Houston based company

Speaker 25 (19:03):
And it's not until next February, but NBC Universal's ad

the NFL season that starts tonight is ninety percent booked.
NBC is calling it the highest grossing NFL season to date.

Speaker 3 (20:08):

Speaker 4 (20:56):
Thank you, Jimmy five thirty one on kt R h
our top story this morning, the Texas Senator adjourns the
special legislative session. While redistricting was passed, there was no
ban for products with THC, and on ex Lieutenant Governor
Dan Patrick said, quote, my position remains unchanged the Senate
and I are for a total THCHC ban. You know

(21:17):
what else didn't get passed? Property tax relief?

Speaker 28 (21:20):
Why not everything in the Texas government happens if three
people want them to happen. If the governor, Lieutenant governor,
Speaker of the House wants something to happen, it's happening.
And if they don't want something to happen, it will
not happen.

Speaker 4 (21:32):
State Representative Brian Harrison calling out fellow Republicans, and he
joins Jimmy later this morning on Houston's Morning News. So,
with several sessions, several issues rather not addressed, we'll we
see a third special legislative session.

Speaker 29 (21:47):
Dole's the right to continue to call special sessions until
literally November of twenty twenty six. Will he do that?

Speaker 17 (21:52):
Probably not.

Speaker 4 (21:53):
Political scientist John Taylor says if there is a third
it'll likely focus on property tax reform. Now, the state
Senate did pass the Texas Women's Privacy Act that keeps
men out of women's restrooms. Meantime, a new poll from
Texas Southern shows that while around eighty percent of Republican
primary voters here support banning men who identify as women

(22:15):
from women's sports, only thirty three percent of Democrats would
support the ban.

Speaker 30 (22:21):
The fact that three out of ten Democrats close to
four out of ten, which I believe will soon be
the keate, closer to forty percent of Democrats will oppose
this shows that the.

Speaker 17 (22:30):
Left is losing on this issue badly.

Speaker 9 (22:33):
Political consultant Luke Messius.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
Meantime, a coalition of left wing groups is suing Texas
over the DEI ban and a ban on gender ideology
in K through twelve schools.

Speaker 31 (22:44):
Education expert Jeene Burke tells Kate here, h these radical
groups are losing money and influence.

Speaker 32 (22:52):
What you've got here is the government schools trying to be.

Speaker 17 (22:55):
The parent, She says.

Speaker 31 (22:57):
The reality is the left is not going to stuff
trying to indoctrinate your kids.

Speaker 8 (23:03):
They're not going to give up they.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
Game, orders our Tom Homan on Fox. The Trump administration
opens up another large illegal alien detention center.

Speaker 9 (23:50):
This one's in Louisiana.

Speaker 32 (23:51):
We now have about two hundred criminal illegal aliens who
are scheduled to be detained here at this facility.

Speaker 33 (23:56):
The capacity will be up to four hundred.

the executive branch are still unfilled, almost eight months after
Trump's return five point thirty five ass promised. The President
is asking the US Supreme Court to weigh in after
a federal appeals court ruled against his tariffs last week.
Trump looking for an expedited ruling there. Meantime, a bipartisan
group of lawmakers wants to ban stock trading by members

(24:45):
of Congress, an effort to stop insider trading.

Speaker 34 (24:48):
There are three hundred and thirty million Americans. There are
four hundred and thirty five of us. If you want
to day trade, leave Congress. It's that simple. If you
come up here with a trust of the American people,
do your job, vote to deliver for the American people.

Speaker 4 (25:01):
Texas Congressman Chip Roy is working on this with Alexandria
Ocassio Cortes. Overnight trading is flat this morning, while oil
futures are down almost a dollar to sixty three dollars
and eighteen cents a barrel. Gas prices across Houston twenty
cents cheaper per gallon than they were one year ago. Meantime,

(25:22):
incidents of laser pointers being aimed at airplanes are a
weekly occurrence now at Texas airports.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
It's enough to concern the FED.

Speaker 4 (25:31):
Aiming a laser at an aircraft creates a serious safety
hazard that puts everyone on the plane and those on
the ground below at risk. The FAA's Kevin Morris. A
search of the federal database shows that everything from giant
commercial jets to single engine cessnas were hit with lasers.
The most incidents in the entire country last year took
place right here in Houston, with five hundred and forty

(25:54):
three five point thirty six. Now, hackers are getting more sophisticated,
but it's the good old fishing techniques that still trick people.
The CEO of the data company Centricks, Damian Fortune, says, Google,
you know the smart guys. They lost a ton of
data recently because one of their geniuses answered a phishing email.

Speaker 35 (26:14):
Always enable two factor authentication for any service that's important,
so your banking information and your healthcare information, employment information,
things like that.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
Fortune says, it's hard to fight the hackers because even
when they're caught, they just come up with new tricks.
The Astros come from behind to beat the Yankees eight
to seven. They will wrap up the series today. Pregame
is at five point thirty on Sports Talk seven ninety KTRH.
Will join the game in progress at seven o'clock after
Michael Barry. I'm close Saunders on Houston's News whether in

(26:43):
traffic station News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 20 (26:48):
This is Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett, five thirty eight.

Speaker 2 (26:54):
Our time here in Houston's Morning News. Right, football season
is here. I think everybody's excited about that, right, well
except maybe Longhorn fans what happened against Ohio State. Anyway,
they have plenty of time to get their season back together.
One game does not a season make, especially in the

(27:15):
new playoffs. But anyway, I digress. It's my favorite time
of the year. I love watching football. I do. I
like college football more than I like pro football, just
like I like college basketball more than I like professional basketball.
Back I rarely watch an NBA game, but the NFL
season kicks off, and it kicks off tonight. A new

(27:36):
poll has found that football is still America's favorite pastime
at baseball has not been America's favorite pastime for a
long time. Forty eight percent of Americans say football is
their favorite thing to watch forty eight percent. That includes
NFL and college games. Baseball came in second at twenty

(27:56):
nine percent, a lot lower figure should still be called
America's past time, probably not. Number three basketball also at
twenty nine percent, so really a second place tie between
baseball and basketball. I guess baseball gets that a little
bit more than basketball does because more people said they
hate basketball. It's a real lover hate. You either love

(28:19):
it or you hate it. Number four at twelve percent.
Hockey number five, also twelve percent. Soccer also slightly more
haters than hockey. Golf came in six at eleven percent,
Auto racing ten percent, tennis at nine percent, mixed martial
arts only eight percent. And wrestling, is this like college

(28:44):
wrestling or professional wrestling? Like that? You know? Is this
the real wrestling or is this the drama school wrestling?
I'm not sure. Only eight percent went with that. One third,
thirty two percent said they don't follow any of these
ten sports, none of them by forty time. For traffic
and weather together.

Speaker 36 (29:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (29:02):
I used to build my whole life around sports. It's
hard to believe that I'm not the fan that I
used to be. I don't know what what happened? Do
you think Colin Kaepernick? I just like I can't look
my he ruined it for you. Yeah, all my police
officer friends and their families. I can't look them in
the eye and support something that blasted that slanders the police.

Speaker 2 (29:21):
So there we are.

Speaker 9 (29:23):
Let's go. Now, let's do some Southwest Freeway.

Speaker 3 (29:25):
Let's do the West Loop northbound at sixty nine, and
that is a stall truck right in the interchange. He's
not really causing a big problem, but let's watch out
if you're coming up from bel Air and then southbound
coming down to uptown from two ninety. We're in good
shape here on the loop, if that makes sense, right, Terry.

Speaker 9 (29:40):
North Loop six ten.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
We're loopy at the squeeze just a little bit, but
stay the course.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
There's not much going on.

Speaker 3 (29:46):
Those of you who are hazardous take the south Loop
instead and it Katie Freeway outbound. Remember from forty five.
That's roadwork. Little skinny lanes you're missing too. Paul from
Pierlands on two twenty five.

Speaker 37 (29:57):
Than Mike he found as the Red Budd Street exit.
There's a car in the left plane with a flat tire,
and the fleet have the left plane locked off.

Speaker 17 (30:08):
Oh I see that.

Speaker 9 (30:08):
Smuch, Now that's outbound. And I know you mean Red Bluff.

Speaker 3 (30:11):
Jack from Connecticut's listening on the Free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 38 (30:14):
If I wasn't win a big lottery like that, I
would get half to my church stage month and I would.

Speaker 39 (30:19):
Move back to camp.

Speaker 9 (30:20):
Oh that's right. We have to tie Jimmy and Terry, so.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
You know I could start my own church.

Speaker 20 (30:25):
Yes, Pope, Mikey, I'm in.

Speaker 3 (30:27):
The USA RB Resorts dot Com traffic center.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Don't get too excited. The summit is not for sale.
The former summit is not for sale. There's somebody else
already occupying the buildings. Yeah. Yea from our KTRH Generator
super Center twenty four hour weather Center. Terry is here.
She's got a four. Hello. Got a forecast full of sunshine,
just like her personality.

Speaker 19 (30:45):
Yeah, at least for today. Yes, lots of sunshine, lots
of heat. Today looks to be probably the hottest day
we'll see this week. And then the temperatures will kind
of ease their way into some cooler weather by the.

Speaker 9 (31:02):
End of the weekend.

Speaker 19 (31:03):
I'm super excited to see if this coldfront actually does
its thing. But right now, high pressure is doing its thing,
and that's keeping us dry today and tomorrow.

Speaker 9 (31:11):
Mid to upper eighties, i should say, midtupper.

Speaker 19 (31:13):
Nineties today, load of mid nineties tomorrow starting Saturday into
Sunday and Monday, a forty percent chance of showers and
thunderstorms and temperatures in the load of mid nineties Saturday,
but then Sunday and Monday it looks like mid to
upper eighties. So maybe maybe fall will show up and

(31:34):
hang around for a while.

Speaker 2 (31:35):
That'd be good. Right now, seventy three at your official
severe weather station, News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 17 (31:42):
What you need to know for the day ahead.

Speaker 20 (31:44):
This is Houston's morning News, brought to you by New
South Windows Solutions.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
All Right, the question of the day today has to
do with we had an east side winter here in Houston.
Not of the powerball jackpot that's going to grow to
one point seven billion dollars, but we had a two
million dollar winner, which means you get back about one
point seven you know, and change one point seven million

(32:12):
dollars when you're done with the taxes on that thing.
So if you had about a million and a half bucks,
let's have fun with this. Let's fantasize. How would you
spend the money. You go to the iHeart radio app KTRH.
I would do something practical, by the way I would.
I would I would pay off whatever's left on my
home loan, and then I would just invest the rest.

(32:32):
Not nothing very sexy, because that's not a money enough
money to go out and buy super yach er to
be sexy. So what would you do with the money?
KTRH on the iHeartRadio app. Hit the talkback button. You've
got up the thirty seconds. First name where you're calling from,
and have fun spending the money five fifty one time
for traffic and weather together personal church sky Mike, you

(32:55):
can pass around the offering play. If you get your
own church, you can keep the money going.

Speaker 3 (32:59):
Yeah, you could wear my bat here, Jimmy, let's go
to the golf freeway. Got a record, fuquay, look out,
give me ten minutes. I'll get you some lane to share.
Jeffrey and the Walkerings Truck is on two twenty five.

Speaker 40 (33:08):
Yah, Mike, I didn't win the money, so I'm still
at work. Each found I've in Red Bluff. We got
an accident, left lank taken up, just a bit of
a kafuffle.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
What really?

Speaker 3 (33:19):
So my workwife, Christina Cruz, thinks that's pedment referre.

Speaker 2 (33:23):
No, she's not wrong. Don't go there.

Speaker 3 (33:24):
We will revisit this at six o'clock. I'm Skymike on
the USA Rvresorts dot Com Traffic.

Speaker 2 (33:29):
Center from our KTRH Generator super Center twenty four, our
weather center. Today's Sunday and hot looks like about ninety
eight for the high Hardley cloudy ninety six Tomorrow Hardley
cloudy about ninety on Saturday, Party Claude thirty percent showering
storm chance for the afternoon on Sunday with high eighty five.

on some of your top stories. Thank you, Jimmy.

Speaker 4 (33:58):
We are sponsored by DA and I'm honor leasing. We
had a major bust of precursor chemicals right here in
Houston yesterday Kindago, Phillips based here is laying off twenty
five percent of its workforce, and the Rodeo will announce
its entertain up lineman net for next season on January eighth.

Speaker 27 (34:20):
What has happened just yesterday?

Speaker 6 (34:23):
What's happening today?

Speaker 22 (34:24):
Happen?

Speaker 17 (34:25):
I know what happens.

Speaker 27 (34:26):
The things are happening right here.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
On news Radio seven KTRH. It is five poin fifty
three here on Houston's Morning News. You know, one of
the things that is getting debated right now, and I'm
not quite sure why, to be honest with you, is
the Castle doctrine as it relates to what I've refer
to as the Ding Dong Ditch shooting. You got a

(34:49):
guy who Shawn Tier, who I thought Shawn Tier wasn't
really interested in prosecuting a lot of criminals. He's really
interested in prosecuting this case. We can debate why he's
that interested in this particular case, probably all day long,
but at the end of the day here the reason
why he's interested in prosecuting this case is that it's

(35:11):
from a public relations standpoint, so another loose proposition for him,
this is, this is how you can get tough on
crime without getting a George Sorows upset. Even George Sorows
can't go to bath for somebody's killing a kid for
the only reason being that he basically, you know, he
basically lay in wait for this kid when the kid

(35:31):
rang the doorbell and ran away shot him in the back.
That that does not apply to the Castle doctrine. That's
not what the Castle doctrine is. I'm not quite sure
what the debate would be about. You know, the stand
your ground policy that the Castle Doctrine provides is really
specific about what it covers and what it doesn't cover.

(35:52):
And it doesn't cover this. It just doesn't cover this.
All right, big drug bust here in Houston. Did you
hear this yesterday at the Port of Houston. Big meth amphetamine, Well,
not yet meth anfetamine, just the chemicals to make it enough.
I mean, we're talking about five hundred and some odd

(36:12):
million dollars worth of street value to these drugs. Such
a big bus that US Attorney Jeanine Piro showed up
in Houston yesterday to talk about the bus.

Speaker 10 (36:22):
Today, we announced a very significant seizure of two shipments
of chemicals shipped on two different vessels on the high
seas and route to the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico. From
China to Mexico. The port of lading was Shanghai, China,

(36:44):
the port of discharge Mexico. What am I talking about?
I'm talking about three hundred and sixty three thousand pounds
of benzyl alcohol along with three hundred thirty four thousand
pounds of N methyl formamide.

Speaker 9 (37:06):
They would have been used.

Speaker 10 (37:08):
To make four hundred and twenty thousand pounds of methamphetamine,
which would have a street value here in Houston of
five hundred and sixty nine million dollars, with a higher
street value as you go up the northern Northeastern Seaboard
to New York City. Now, the labs that were under

(37:32):
construction that were being used to integrate these chemicals to
make the metamphetamine were under the geographical control of the
Sinaloa cartels. And these cartels are capable and are known
to make more than one ton of methamphetamins a week. Now,

(37:56):
because President Trump and Secretary of State Mark or Rubio
have declared the Sineloa Cartel a foreign terrorist organization. It
gives all of us in law enforcement the ability to
move quicker and to seize quicker. And this cartel, as
I'm sure all of you know, is one of the

(38:17):
largest producers and traffickers at fentanyl. And they use murder, kidnapping,
torture and violence as a way of doing business.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
This is a real war on drugs now that we're fighting,
and honest to god war on drugs. You know, vaporizing
Venezuelan drug boats. That's that's that's actually fighting a war
against drugs. Five point fifty six. Now Here in news
radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 7 (38:50):
Is used.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Six am is their time now here in Houston's morning News,
I'm Jimmy Barrett. Among our top stories this f are.
While the Castle doctrine does not apply to the Ding
Dong Ditch shooting, Trump looks to the Supreme Court for
Terror for leaf and coming up at six o eight,
they want to plow over a World War II memorial.
Details in the minutes ahead, you're in Houston's Morning News. First,

(39:25):
the chick of that Morning Drive once again, SKay.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
Mike's here, Oh, go freeway, fukuay, that's a northbound wreck.

Speaker 41 (39:30):
Eye.

Speaker 3 (39:30):
It looks like toe trek Ninjas hit before we could
even really get some laneage on it. Stay the course,
go freeways just fine. Do not get on three. Let's
see two twenty five. Is it a wreck? Is it construction?
Is it a stall? Now we're pretty much in a
consensus that it's a stall. The cut left line outbound
at red Bluff. That's quite as much. Forty five north's
looking pretty good. Get tired. Dave's been to Astra.

Speaker 42 (39:52):
World nineteen seventy nine, a road that Texas tornado one time?

Speaker 3 (39:59):
Do you mean Greece like two ips. I'm in the
USA Rbresorts dot Com traffic center.

Speaker 2 (40:05):
I'm not sure of one point seven millions enough even
by a ride these days, Really, you couldn't buy the cyclone,
probably not from our KTRH top tax defenders. Twenty four
hour Weather Center. Sunny and hot with igh temperature right
about ninety eight. We'll get the rest of the forecast
with Terry Smith of the Weather Channel in nine minutes.
Currently it is seventy three at your official severe weather station,

(40:25):
News Radio seven forty k TRH. It's time for the news.
Here's Cliff Saunders.

Speaker 4 (40:30):
Hey you, Jimmy six oh one on KTRH sponsored by
All Star Construction. Our top story this morning, violent crime
in the Houston area.

Speaker 7 (40:37):
We have two disease unknown if the suspect is deceased.

Speaker 4 (40:40):
A swat standoff continues in Stafford with a suspect possibly
still barricaded inside of a home that was Stafford.

Speaker 2 (40:48):
Police moments ago.

Speaker 4 (40:49):
We're still working on getting details on this. Elsewhere, Bail
set at a million dollars for Gonzalo Leone in the
murder of an eleven year old who Ding dong ditched
his home last weekend. Now, charges could still be upgraded
in that case, raising questions about the Texas defense rule
known as the castle doctrine, which allows homeowners to use

(41:10):
lethal force against intruders.

Speaker 14 (41:12):
If somebody is unlawfully and with sports entering or attempting
to enter your home, you are presumed to have acted reasonably.

Speaker 4 (41:24):
Attorney Michelle Maple says she does not think the castle
doctrine applies in this case because the victim never attempted
to enter the home, and the suspect allegedly chased the
eleven year old down the road. Meantime, the left is
still complaining about the President possibly sending in the National
Guard to stop violent crime in Chicago. Vice President JD.

(41:44):
Van says the Democrats are getting ahead of themselves.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
There are no immediate plans, but the President.

Speaker 28 (41:49):
Has said he has the legal authority to protect American citizens,
whether that's in Chicago or Washington, DC.

Speaker 4 (41:54):
Meantime, the President is saying that he's floating the idea
of sending the Guard into New Orleans to stop violent
crime there.

Speaker 9 (42:03):
It's now six 'zho three.

Speaker 17 (42:04):
This is a Democrat hoax that never ends.

Speaker 4 (42:08):
President Trump at the White House going after Republicans, including
George's Marjorie Taylor Green, for buying into the narrative that
there's a cover up involving the Jeffrey Epstein files.

Speaker 38 (42:18):
I'm not afraid to name names, and so if they
want to give me a list, i will walk in
that capital on the House floor and I'll say every
damn name that abuse these women.

Speaker 4 (42:29):
Remember, Democrats never cared about this when Joe Biden was president.
So Trump is fighting that bit of fake news and
now Wikipedia is accused of increasing its left wing bias.
Media Research Center Director of Free Speech Michael Morris's the
sources used by Wikipedia are very very left.

Speaker 8 (42:48):
Zero right leaning outlets are deemed reliable on the platform Wikipedia,
and eighty four percent office media outlets are deemed reliable.

Speaker 2 (42:57):
I mean that is an.

Speaker 8 (42:58):
Outrageous double standard on that platform, so effectively a left wing.

Speaker 4 (43:02):
Megasul even worse people using AI answers that come up
on the first page of Google searches. As promised, President
Trump goes to the US Supreme Court asking for an
urgent ruling on whether or not he can move ahead
with tariffs.

Speaker 21 (43:17):
They want the High Court to reverse a lower court
ruling that said the president's tariffs are illegal and that
he exceeded his authority in imposing them. That lower court
said the tariffs could stay in place until October fourteenth,
giving the administration a chance to appeal.

Speaker 9 (43:35):
That's Joe Nato reporting there.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
Coming up.

Speaker 4 (43:37):
On six h five on KTRH, top Justice Department officials
announced the biggest bus of precursor chemicals that were headed
to a foreign terrorist organization right here in Houston.

Speaker 43 (43:49):
Had these precursors made it a destination they would have
made hundreds of thousands of pounds of methinfeemy with profits
are over half a billion dollars, which would lead to
more American debts here not only in Houston, but all
across the country.

Speaker 4 (44:03):
Acting ICE Director todd lyons those chemicals originated from China.
This came after the strike on a Venezuelan drug boat
this week that killed eleven members of the Venezuelan gang
Trendy Iragua.

Speaker 44 (44:15):
The President of United States is going to wage war
on narco terrorist organizations. This one was operating in international
waters headed towards the United States, the flood our country
with poison, and under President Trump, those days are over.

Speaker 4 (44:28):
Secretary of State Marco Rubio six h five. The Texas
Legislative Session, the special one, is wrapping up. Last night,
the Senate officially passed the Women's Privacy Act to keep
men out of women's bathrooms. That's now headed to the
Governor's desk. More coming up at six point thirty. Now,
the Dems failed again with that quorum break in Tantrum,

(44:50):
and what they did here is now hurting the National Party.

Speaker 2 (44:52):
They've pulled this stunt before and failed, like they did again.

Speaker 15 (44:55):
This year, they go to the most jerymandered state in
the country, Illinois, which has boxed out all but three Republicans.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
It's a total hypocrisy.

Speaker 15 (45:04):
Arthur Shauper of Mass Resistance says the parties become all
theater driven now and any momentum they built in Texas
was annihilated under Biden's open border. Texas got a dose
of what the Democrat Party wants, open borders, destruction of families,
destruction of communities, and Texas didn't want it.

Speaker 2 (45:22):
He says.

Speaker 15 (45:23):
The Dems are split in two factions and have to
pick a path. Andrey Perard News Radio seven forty k TRH.

Speaker 4 (45:29):
It is now six ZH six and you heard it
right here on KTRH last night.

Speaker 16 (45:34):

Speaker 2 (45:38):
In fact, is the ball team.

Speaker 4 (45:40):
The Astros come back from a four to one hole
to beat the Yankees eight to seven series finale Tonight.
Pregame at five thirty on Sports Talk seven ninety, the

at seven. I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news weather in
Traffic station KTRH.

Speaker 1 (45:57):
This hurricane season, keep you in your loved ones, be
alert and make news Radio seven forty KGRH three set
one on your free iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 2 (46:10):
Six Soul seven. Our time here in Houston's morning news.
The Greatest generation, it's almost gone. Just about the only
thing left other than a few survivors from that era
are our memorials or World War Two. We have a
national Memorial course in Washington, d C. We have memorials
all around the country. We have memorials here in Houston
to those who served in World War Two. They have

(46:31):
a memorial in Bocoverton, Florida. It is a seventeen acre
park and there are you know, there are several monuments
that are a part of the park. Only the city
council there was in the process of making a deal
with a real estate tycoons development group to tear it

(46:51):
all down declare the way for two point five billion
dollars one point five million square foot mega project. Yep.
They were going to pole away World War two history
in a memorial in order to make some money. And
when the residents of Boca found out about it, they
were none too happy. I'm confused heither.

Speaker 44 (47:13):
You guys are completely incomptent hopelessly told for truly.

Speaker 2 (47:16):
Think for the stupid once.

Speaker 45 (47:19):
And I got to tell you, hearing that Miss Trucker
wanted to move this to the end of the meeting
is the most disgusting, obnoxious thing.

Speaker 2 (47:30):
I've ever heard.

Speaker 17 (47:31):
We need our Memorial Park, we need the space.

Speaker 36 (47:35):
It may not be so active and vibrant, but it's
a place of reverence and reflection.

Speaker 17 (47:41):
The people is stronger.

Speaker 46 (47:42):
Than ever and they are saying loud and clear, sop
this project. The people do not want it will prevail. Yes,
So Save Boca is a grassroots movement that's we're trying
to save Memorial Park, which is named after World War
Two veterans, and to protect our parks in public land

(48:05):
throughout the city of bocratone which right now doesn't have
any protection, and they're planning to destroy World War A,
World War Two park, Memorial Park, which is a huge
seventeen acre park in the downtown of our city.

Speaker 36 (48:19):
Well, I will say that I'm the proud granddaughter. Just
seeing his picture just makes me really proud, and I
think he's one of the greatest people from the greatest
generation that ever lived. So I think that's worth fighting for,
and that's what we're doing.

Speaker 2 (48:37):
And I agree, I'm tired of tearing down history. I'm
sick of tearing down history. We have to preserve history. Oh,
by the way, is a little sidelight to all this.
The residents are also frustrated because this terror group, the
developer that is trying to develop this Memorial Park to
tear it down and put in apartments and other things.

(48:58):
They're the one that's currently in broiler in illegal action
over the Surf Side condominium collapse. You remember that they
killed ninety eight people. They and their partners were accused
of destabilizing the Champlain Tower South building during construction. So
they've been sued for that, and now they want to
develop this. Yeah, they're really striking out with the people.

(49:21):
The book over tom Florida six ten. Time for traffic
and weather together. Let's check out that drive against that.
Mike's here, thank you, my son, you are here. By blast.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
Let's go to two twenty five. That's we're calling it
a stall. It's outbound at Rep lefton. It's a lot
of flashy lights. We've got a smunch. Now, let's see
how far that goes back to oh almost to the
Goodyear plant. And we're looking at an extra eleven minutes
on the outbound if you could do it ten, do
that instead. Southwest Freeway northbound fountain View. That's a stall.

(49:50):
We're in a left line here. It's not causing that
big of a skunch. I'm seeing some breaks on the
West Park though, as you're trying to get off on
if you're trying to get off onto that ramp that
goes to the Outquest Freeway and then the ramp that
goes to six' ten.

Speaker 9 (50:02):
Going up to, uptown you've got a little smudge there.

Speaker 3 (50:05):
Too linda From springs on the tip, line good morning's gone.

Speaker 39 (50:07):
ON i just passed the Seas oh so well sent

Speaker 2 (54:28):
Three our time you're In houston's morning. News, well what
has become typical for left wing groups to do is
when they don't like a ruling or a law or
a proposal in the that gets through the state, legislature
Like Senate bill twelve, did which bans the instruction OF
dei and transgender issues in those types of things IN

(54:53):
k through twelve, schools what do they? Do they go to.
Court they constantly go to. Court we spend all of
our time fighting these things in court laws to try
to prevent some of these things from. Happening it ends
up in. Court Jean burke JOINED us education expert At
College Prep. GENIUS i don't know how how do you
make THE i GUESS i. UNDERSTAND i understand that we
have some people involved in the lawsuit who go to

(55:15):
schools and talk about these, issues and they feel, like,
well we can't do our jobs anymore because you've banned
us from going into the.

Speaker 48 (55:23):
Classrooms, Oh, Jimmy, Jimmy, jimmy it's all about, money you,
know it, is, hey schools are hemorrhaging. STUDENTS i, mean
just think about. It in just in the last year
or so twenty twenty, two twenty, three fifty Thousand Texas
texas families decided, homeschool over five hundred thousand went to

(55:48):
private school and about fourteen, percent which is you, know
and several hundred thousand went to micro. Schooling and so
when you're talking fifteen thousand dollars per, student the schools
are given and that's based on like, local, state and federal.
FUNDING i, mean they tell you it's the base scores
about sixty.

Speaker 33 (56:07):
One, hundred but it really is fifteen.

Speaker 9 (56:08):
Thousand that's a lot of.

Speaker 2 (56:10):
Money it is a lot of money in these, groups
these left wing. GROUPS i, mean here's an, Example The
genders And Sexualities Alliance network is one of. Them students
engaged In Advancing. Texas i'm pretty sure that that doesn't
adequately describe what they're really all. About otherwise known AS,
seat those are the two groups that seem to be

(56:32):
involved in. This THE Gsa network defines itself as elevating
trans queer and two spirit youth voices by sharing, stories challenging,
stereotypes and amplifying the intergenerational lived wisdom of their. People
what the hell does that have to do with, reading,
writing and? Arithmetic you, know just.

Speaker 48 (56:50):
Teach our kids, stem not how much they're. Marginalized this is.
Crazy you. Know some of the banning, is you, know
these schools assisting under, ideology you, know constantly referring to,
race and then you, know just assisting this transition stuff
that things that parents needed to be talking to their kids,
about not the.

Speaker 9 (57:10):
Schools AND i think that the whole thing's you, know gone.

Speaker 48 (57:14):
CRAZY i think one of the things that's going to
help is, that you, know we do have school choice
now that goes into effect in twenty twenty, six and
you're gonna see even more of a mass. EXODUST i
think they're trying to get ahead of the game because
if every family is going to get somewhere, around, well
there's gonna be about ten thousand dollars allotted per, FAMILY
i think when it comes to school, choice and so

(57:36):
there goes more kids out of the government. School SO
i think they, think, well if we get on top
of this, thing maybe maybe.

Speaker 9 (57:42):
We can stop.

Speaker 48 (57:42):
It you know what about real, racism you know they're
they're creating it might have you, know been designed to eliminate,
racism but it becomes more structural and you, know dust,
paradoxal and it's this sort of thing turbal wheel that won't.

Speaker 9 (57:59):
Stop AND i think what's.

Speaker 48 (58:01):
Happening it doesn't raise up our children and especially those
who are really. Impacted it's ultimately dragging everyone else. Down
and this is you, know canceling any kind of achievements
or eliminate any standards.

Speaker 2 (58:13):
Altogether, well if you think there's a mass. Exodus now
if they win in. Court if these groups win in
court in the, Center bill twelve is struck down as being,
unconstitutional then imagine the exodus if that. Happens, OH i.

Speaker 48 (58:26):
See it, already and you, know and parents have just
really really woke up to the fact what is really going.
On AND i think most most cads have common, sense
and you know we. DON'T i, mean murder is a real,
thing but we don't talk about that in. School you,
know you wouldn't talk to your kids about.

Speaker 49 (58:43):
That so, yeah there's.

Speaker 48 (58:44):
THINGS i think we're just creating this environment and we're
just egging it on when it's constantly being talked. About
just teach, school that's. All that's all you're supposed to be,
doing is just, tea teaching kids to.

Speaker 2 (58:55):
Learn, Amen Gene thank you as, Always Geen, burke education

News. See it's my humble opinion that the reason why
we go for a one point for one point, THREE
i guess next time it's gonna be one point seven
billion dollar Power. Ball what we go out and buy
the tickets is because we have so much fun fantasizing

(01:24:21):
about what we would do with the. MONEY i did
a show once WHERE i actually PRETENDED i won the
lottery and it was hundreds of millions of. Dollars it's
like probably five hundred million, dollars and it was my
goal to spend all five hundred million before the show was,
over and actually. DID i. MEAN i was buying some

(01:24:42):
pretty pricing things by the. End it's a. Lot it
takes a lot of. Time it takes a lot of
work to buy you spend that much. MONEY i wonder
if it'd take that long in, reality BUT i thought
it'd be more of a challenge to try to figure
out how you would spend one point seven, million because
we had A houston win probably bought it at a convenience.
Store houston winner who won two billion dollars somewhere in

(01:25:06):
The East end now on the east side of. Town
they've you, know they probably is that the Key you,
Go you go to a convenience store somewhere where you
probably don't, live and you buy a ticket. There because
it always it always seems like you hear stories, about you,
know certain types of stores and certain types of neighborhoods
where you always have these. Winners, anyway it's fun spending

(01:25:29):
at one point seven. Million that that's you have to
be more. Selective how would you spend the money if
you won the?

Speaker 9 (01:25:35):
Lottery IF i won that kind of, MONEY i Think
i'd help people.

Speaker 8 (01:25:38):
Out, Oh i'd still get my trans am That i've always,
wanted BUT i Think i'd spend most of it just
helping people.

Speaker 5 (01:25:45):

Texas If i'd won the two, million one point seven
don't need, it BUT i would buy me a good
piece of, land build my house on it, big AND
i have four, children SO i would give them some,
money AND i would give money back to people who
have helped me over the.

we have a lot of conflicts of? Interest AND i
will Just i'm not going to dame names BECAUSE i
think the world of him as a human being and
as a state. Senator but when you have people making
decisions over things like property taxes who make a living
fighting property taxes in the court or with, jurisdictions that

(01:32:46):
strikes me as a bit of a conflict of.

at post pandemic that it's still hard to swallow is
food and energy in, your home and we just haven't gotten.
Past that that's why it's a. Bifurcated economy don't forget
seventy Percent of america's wealth with people over there to,

(01:54:36):
sixty five what are they doing buying first class strips
on an airplane where the rest of the folks to
start just Getting buy.

Speaker 53 (01:54:43):
Let's talk, about that because even if you try to
keep up With, the joneses that's kind of changes.

Speaker 17 (01:54:47):
Fomo buying fear of. Missing, out okay WHAT can i
do in?

Speaker 44 (01:54:49):
The?

Speaker 53 (01:54:50):
Moment now it wasn't long ago when luxury items were.

Speaker 2 (01:54:52):
Up there RIGHT when, i think When the stimmies.

Speaker 53 (01:54:54):
Are, Coming Out LOUIS vatana ceo became the richest person in.
The world now it's about restaurants and and this is
an area that you focused on.

Speaker 2 (01:55:02):
From an INVESTMENT thing.

Speaker 59 (01:55:03):
I do and reality is, those numbers well they've softened
a Bit. In july don't forget some of this stuff.
Is seasonality what do we do in, The summer, We travel. We,
dine now what are we doing? To fall we buy
stuff from back?

Speaker 2 (01:55:13):
To school what are you?

Speaker 59 (01:55:14):
The endity we buy those lugsury, At its so be
careful of. The seasonality reality is the dollar went down by, ten,
percent right so stuff used to buy from over season now.
More expensive so how do? You pivot you pivot to
those areas because even though McDonald's, more expensive we're seeing
actually RESTAURANT and x travel outside of, your home outside
of your hair still be.

Speaker 53 (01:55:30):
Quite STRONG this i want to ask you because i'd
see you may have a comment about The the minimus
has been.

Speaker 2 (01:55:35):
Very, worried okay what way does this have?

Speaker 59 (01:55:37):
You worried this is the one thing about, the Organization the,
trump ORGANIZATION which i just don't understand a lot of
folks at that, same number the one hundred million people
who make less than one hundred thousand dollars, a year
less than seventy five thousand dollars, a.

Speaker 17 (01:55:48):
Year they depend on cheap Goods. From china we.

Speaker 4 (01:55:50):
Just do.

Speaker 17 (01:55:51):
We're built we're never.

Speaker 2 (01:55:51):
Going to make Plastics The united.

Speaker 59 (01:55:53):
States again so when you put that tariff on stuff under,
eight hundred when you go to buy a new pair,
of sneakers it's.

Speaker 17 (01:55:58):
More expensive this has.

Speaker 59 (01:56:00):
Me worry this is SOMETHING that i think you need
to look at and make sure they got, this right
because you're gonna put pressure on the folks who are only,
feeling pressure folks who could. Afford it nobodeal back to
the McDonald's, an. Nowogy right but for, everybody else this.
ONE hurts i don't agree.

Speaker 2 (01:56:11):
With, it well and that's part but that's part of
the terrace in bringing back middle. Class jobs it's the
middle class that's hurting the most. Right now, you know
we're rapidly getting into the tail of the halves and the,
have nots the halves of those of us who are
still going out, to eat, still traveling, still investing still,
buying experiences still spending money on what would be in

(01:56:34):
a really tight. Budget luxuries and then there are those
who have had to give. That up there are those
that now going to McDonald's is a, luxury BECAUSE as,
i said their prices are up two hundred percent while
inflation is up. Thirty percent, you know food and energy
as it relates to, your home are those two areas
that they just highlighted by the way of the of

(01:56:55):
the discretionary spending twenty one percent are spending it on,
dining out eighteen percent, on travel sixteen percent, are investing
fifteen percent, on experiences twelve percent on, personal development eleven percent,
on fitness and seven percent are spending It on i'm not,
Sure what maybe they're not spending it, at all but

(01:57:19):
dining out still the number one thing that we are
spending money that we really can't afford to, spend ON
although I again. I knew i tell you The restaurants
i've been, going to they're not as busy as they used. To,
be listen you all have a. Great day hope you
win the next. Power ball i'll see tomorrow morning bright nearly.
Five am hope to. See you this safter be four
