Speaker 6 (03:01):
Heg Seth with Meghan Kelly. Now Trump has yet to
be sworn in, and some are already looking forward to
the midterms in twenty twenty six. Rice As Mark Jones says,
Republicans are almost a luck to maintain Senate control.
Speaker 11 (03:15):
Republicans have to feel pretty confident, least initially, since there
only is really one vulnerable seat in Maine, and that's
offset by two vulnerable Democratic seats in Michigan and Georgia.
Speaker 6 (03:26):
Democrats would have to flip four seats to take back
the Senate five h three on KTRH Hunter Biden seen
in public for the first time since being pardoned on Sunday,
picking up fast food in California. Republicans remain outraged at
the entire thing.
Speaker 12 (03:43):
This pardon is a perversion of justice, and it is
a utter disregard for the rule of law, and it undermines,
further underminds the people's faith in our system of justice.
Speaker 6 (03:52):
House Speaker Mike Johnson, the President elect, hinted that he
might issue pardons for some or even all, of the
January six defendants after the Hunter pardon, reported Julie Kelly
telling ktrh's Clay Travis and Buck Sexton. Biden threw the
book at the J six suspects.
Speaker 13 (04:09):
Hunter Biden wasn't subjected to the format the J sixers,
especially those on non existent charges. He was handled with
kid gloves the entire process. He did not face the
true criminal charges that.
Speaker 9 (04:21):
He should have.
Speaker 6 (04:22):
Kelly wants Trump to issue a blanket apartment for all
of those defendants, many of whom remain locked up for
minor offenses coming up on five oh five. At the border,
mass deportations are coming, but until then, the head of
the Border Patrol, Jason Owens, says, the biggest threat that
they see is gang activity like trendy Arragua.
Speaker 14 (04:42):
It's a very serious there for us. It is one
of our top priorities, just like fentanyl. Tomorrow it may
be something else, but today it's TDA and fentanyl that
represent some of the biggest threats to our people in
this country.
Speaker 6 (04:55):
Owens told Fox he's excited for the incoming borders of
Tom Homan to get to work beyond our borders. There
is political chaos in Asia, where the South Korean president
faces impeachment in a major change in Europe this morning.
Speaker 15 (05:11):
The oulstair of Michelle Barnier by Assembly vote is the
first in sixty two years to succeed in France. Three
hundred and thirty one votes supported the no confidence vote,
more than the two hundred eighty eight needed, meaning a
divided French government came together to support the change. The
vote was triggered when Barnier moved this week to use
(05:32):
a constitutional tactic to push through a contentious budget without
a parliamentary vote.
Speaker 6 (05:37):
That is Fox's Garnell Scott reporting. Police in New York
this morning continue the manhunt for the person caught on
video shooting and killing United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson in
cold blood.
Speaker 4 (05:50):
This does not appear to be a random act of violence.
Speaker 6 (05:54):
YPD Commissioner Jennifer Tish there is no motive yet, but
top executives a United Healthcare have been under DOJ investigation
for insider trading, amongst other things. Here at home, police
are still looking for the man who fired shots and
students near the campus of Sharpstown High School yesterday. That
same man fired shots and a second group of kids.
(06:17):
Cops or rather, no one was injured in those incidents.
And from the you can't pick this up category, the
Texas Department of Criminal Justice admits they don't know the
whereabouts of five prison inmates who were released on medical issues, and.
Speaker 16 (06:34):
Even worse, they won't say who the fugitives are.
Speaker 17 (06:38):
This is absolutely absurd that you will not let the
public know who these individuals were that somehow magically disappeared.
Speaker 5 (06:47):
That is Andy Kahn with Crime Stoppers.
Speaker 17 (06:49):
If they were so close to death or dying, how
have they just suddenly gone up and disappeared without anybody
noticing they were gone.
Speaker 5 (06:57):
You can't make this stuff up.
Speaker 16 (06:58):
Con says he's all also concerned there are even more
medical fugitives. Juff Biggs News Radio seven forty kt H
it's now five oh seven. For the next two days,
KTRH is joining Sunny ninety nine point one and our
other iHeart stations in this year's radio thon for Saint
Jude Children's Hospital.
Speaker 18 (07:18):
This year alone, sixteen thousand families are going to hear
the words your child hath cancer and cancer doesn't just
impact the patient, but it impacts the family, it impacts
the community.
Speaker 6 (07:30):
Pasttar Jiro with Saint Jude, they are the Radiothon. Last
year raised more than a million dollars from Houston alone.
It'll get underway at six and Jimmy will have more
on this throughout the morning. Finally, the NFL denies the
appeal by Texans linebacker aziz Al Schier, upholding his three
game suspension for Sunday's hit on Jacksonville quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
(07:51):
And I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news, weather, and traffic
station News Radio seven forty KTRH more.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
With Jimmy Barrett and the Houston Morning News teams. This
is Houston's Morning News live all nine.
Speaker 5 (08:06):
Our time here at Houston's Morning News.
Speaker 3 (08:08):
That was done in the seventies, right, everybody had a
landline in the seventies. You might have even still had
a rotary Now. I think we probably had a push
Putton phone by then. But when I was a little kid,
we had a rotary phone. I remember our first phone
number was Hunter three four two eight nine. They used
HU instead of four to eight. I don't know why.
(08:32):
This is just how they did it back in the day.
But times are changing, and certainly times are changing for
telephone companies. Eight and T is preparing to retire it's
old school copper networks across the country and to do
away with landlines everywhere except California, where there's a regulation
that would keep landlines in effect at least for a while.
This is a plan they planned to implement over the
(08:54):
course of the remainder of this decade, so by the
year twenty thirty, chances are pretty good there'll be no
land lines left in many different states. They said that
they've First of all, the old copper land lines are
energy hogs, so they're expensive to maintain, they're expensive to fix,
especially with the copper. They're subject of vandalism, people trying
(09:16):
to steal the copper, and maybe eighteen t saying themselves,
you know what, if we retire these lines, we can
grab the copper for ourselves and make a bunch of
money doing that. So that's that's something that's gonna happen
pretty soon. Raise your hand if you still have a landline,
and I didn't think so. Do you know somebody that
still has a landline that's under the age of eighty.
(09:39):
There might be a couple, but there's not a lot.
Most of us have made the move pretty much exclusively
to cell phones and wireless networks and all those types
of things. So it does bring back a lot of memories.
I mean, I remember you remember those telephones that had
the huge, long, honking chords on them, so you could
(10:00):
pick up the phone in the kitchen and walk all
the way into the family room and you're still using it.
Or the wireless phones. First wireless phones came out with
the antenna you'd have to pull out. It's amazing watch
old shows and you see that stuff. He realized just
how much technology has changed five eleven time for traffic
and whether it's together.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
And I was gonna put a princess Did you have
a princess phone? Sky mine?
Speaker 4 (10:18):
You know, if you ever, you know, when we were
in high school, you talk to a girl, if she
was kind of bougie, she.
Speaker 5 (10:23):
Had her own phone, oh yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
And if she is really bougie, you know, she had
her own line.
Speaker 5 (10:29):
So that, you know, I couldn't listen on. So there
you go. Let's see. Let's go to the north side here,
all right, Terry.
Speaker 4 (10:36):
We got sweaty freeways this morning, and so we got
to be super careful whichever way I'm going to turn.
Everybody snooze off. Number one, I do have something downtown.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
It's I ten. Which way we're going eastbound?
Speaker 19 (10:48):
All right?
Speaker 4 (10:48):
Right in front of Saint Arnold. It's I sixty nine.
That's erect one two right lanes. We keep white.
Speaker 5 (10:54):
Normally we wipe out the other way there.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
But I get this, And there's a lot of merging
going on too, So watch out coming over if he's
coming down forty five or the Katie Freeway where it
merges the b Someone Bridge. Watch out as you're heading
over toward the baytown side. I don't think the baytown
side can really see it, So don't worry about reverenacing
too much. Rest of our freeway Southwest Freeway wet moving
posted speed sugar Land up twenty one minutes, and the
(11:18):
other side of I sixty nine wet roadways, fog.
Speaker 5 (11:21):
Is that a thing up in the sticks? Tell me
about it?
Speaker 4 (11:23):
Seven one three two one two tips. I bet there
is Terry. I'm in the Generator Supercenter dot Com traffic center.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
Speaking of Terry Smith.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
I bet when she was sixteen, I bet her parents
were driven crazy by all the boys calling that landline
trying to talk to Terry.
Speaker 20 (11:36):
Talk at hours and hours of hour about what it
used to drive my dad nuts.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
I bet I remember those days.
Speaker 3 (11:46):
All right, this weather is going to be a little
bit dank and dark and difficult to deal with.
Speaker 20 (11:51):
Yeah, yeah, So the bulk of the rain is over with.
You might see a brief shower or two this morning.
Mainly it's just a cloudy day, and the temperatures are
going to be cooling somewhat over the course of the
morning into the afternoon. I think by later today temperatures
will be in the mid upper fifties, and right now
(12:12):
most of us are in the sixties, so a little
bit cooler. Tomorrow right now looks dry. We may actually
just get a break from the rain. Still plenty of
clouds and it's chilly, mid upper fifties tomorrow. Weekend comes around,
and that's our next shot of some rain. A sixty
percent chance of showers on Saturday, mainly in the afternoon.
Sunday and ninety percent chance of getting wet Monday.
Speaker 5 (12:33):
That's when we.
Speaker 20 (12:34):
Might see some sunshine back in the forecast. Mondays looking
dry and warmer. With heis in the midupper seventies.

going to say. Oh hey, a reminder. We are participating,
(13:02):
happily participating today in the Saint Jude Radio Thon. It'll
get underway at six o'clock. We're not doing anything really
much with it this hour because the phone lines aren't
open yet, but we, along with our other Iheart's sister
stations here in Houston, are going to try to raise
as bunch money as we can. Last year, I believe
it was a little over a million dollars that was
(13:23):
raised to help fund Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital. We'll
be doing that today starting the six o'clock hour. Just
wanted to give you a little heads up about that
Pete Haig Saith. He's evidently fighting back and evidently he
has Trump's support as far as fighting back. More in
that story coming up next. First, though, let's do a
little traffic and weather together as we check in again
with skymue Ha.
Speaker 4 (13:42):
You know what I think I'd figured out after all
this time, why I have so much trouble getting female
callers on our tip line.
Speaker 5 (13:48):
Jimmy, Yes, which back to the phone.
Speaker 4 (13:50):
You know people our age, the girls were told you're
not supposed to be calling boys, so it's okay. We're
gonna lift that rule. It's okay for girls to call boys.
Seven one three two one two. T Ip the Sadie
Hawkins tip line. Yeah, Sadie Aucins tick online. We've got
downtown it in the accident right across Saint Arnold there.
Speaker 5 (14:09):
This is Ien eastbound at I sixty nine. Everybody's okay.
They move most of it to the side.
Speaker 4 (14:15):
Just be super duper careful coming up from the forty
five golf freeway.
Speaker 5 (14:18):
I got time for Steve from Burton.
Speaker 21 (14:20):

hour with the center mainly Claude. Today there's a very
slight shower chance with the high temperature of sixty three.
Speaker 5 (14:46):
That would be mainly this morning.
Speaker 3 (14:47):

Texas Mutual Insurance. US Supreme Court Justice Kaitanji Brown Jackson
is being criticized for comparing so called gender affirming care
for kids to interracial marriage are used. An attorney claims
he killed his son in a quote horrible accident and

then burned the body in Sabine County, and Mattress Mac
announced yesterday he's having open heart surgery next week.

Speaker 23 (15:48):
The next four years we'll happen here. News Radio seven
forty KTRH. All right, Bete HeiG Seth is fighting back.
He was on Capitolhill yesterday. He's making the round to
some of the talk shows. He stopped buying to visit
with Megan Kelly on her podcast and talked about fighting back.
Speaker 3 (16:09):
I think at some point in the conversation, I don't
have that for you this morning, but at some part
of the conversation probably talked about his mom making an
appearance on Fox and Friends yesterday morning because there was
a scathing article in The New York Times where she
was quoted as basically calling her son a womanizer, among
other things. She did a little apology to her for that.
(16:30):
Spent about twenty minutes on Fox and Friends yesterday trying
to say, no, no, I was just kind of having a
bad day. I didn't They weren't supposed to print that.
Speaker 5 (16:38):
Of course.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
The other accusation against Pete Hegseth is that he's a drunk,
he drinks too much. But this this is just the way,
according to Pete anyway that the left will attack you.
And here he is talking with Megan Kelly about the
conversation he had with President Trump, who evidently still supports
his nomination.
Speaker 10 (16:56):
I spoke to this morning, Megan. I mean, he's amazing fighter.
He's been through this himself, and he told me. The
last thing he said to me, well, two things he
said to me when I left his office when he
chose me, was well, besides what he said about being
a war fighter, we can get into that was you're
(17:16):
gonna need to be tough ash shit.
Speaker 21 (17:18):
You're gonna need to be tough as shit.
Speaker 10 (17:20):
But he paused again as I was walking away and said,
but you're the man for this moment. I chose you
because you're the guy that's gonna put the war fighters first.
Speaker 21 (17:29):
We haven't had that. We need a guy that's kicked.
Speaker 10 (17:31):
Down doors and understands the consequences of war and why
US deterring war, fighting it and winning it is important,
and he gets it, and we can get into the
policy of all of that. But ultimately he reiterated the
same thing this morning. Hey, Pete, I got your back.
It's a fight. They're coming after you. Get after it.
I think he'll be delighted that we're talking today and
(17:54):
we're gonna do more talking because for so long, what
was said about me, what has been said about me,
It was so ridiculous and all anonymous that we didn't
want to give it oxygen.
Speaker 21 (18:05):
You don't want to respond to.
Speaker 10 (18:06):
Things that don't merit response, and so we have it.
But the sitting here with you and going forward, you
know the media is driving with this ridiculous narrative. It's
our turn to It's our time to stand up and
tell the truth and our side.
Speaker 21 (18:20):
And he knows that, and so he supports me.
Speaker 5 (18:23):
We talked.
Speaker 21 (18:23):
I won't betray what we talked about.
Speaker 10 (18:26):
Specifically, but he said, you will meet those senators and
I've got your back.
Speaker 21 (18:29):
It means a lot to me. Tells you who that
guy is.
Speaker 9 (18:31):
So you are meeting with them. Any open wobbliness there?
Do you like? How do you like your chances right now?
Speaker 10 (18:37):
I mean I Donald Trump won overwhelmingly seventy six million votes.
He's got fifty three senators, all of which understand what
the American.
Speaker 21 (18:46):
People voted for.
Speaker 10 (18:48):
They voted for the change that Donald Trump is going
to bring, and they knew in the picks that he's made,
he's bringing in change agents. If you wanted another general
or another admiral, or an executive or a CEO or
a politician or a lawyer to run the deafense department.
Speaker 21 (19:04):
We've tried that before. He said, I want a warfighter.
Speaker 10 (19:07):
I want lethality, lethality, lethality, I want readiness, accountability, standards, warfighting.
Speaker 21 (19:15):
Pete, that's you.
Speaker 5 (19:16):
That's me.
Speaker 21 (19:17):
Cleanhouse of the woke crap, all that stuff, all.
Speaker 10 (19:21):
The the the the climate stuff, and the CRT and
the DEI and the and the genderism and the trend.
Speaker 21 (19:29):
Get rid of it.
Speaker 3 (19:31):
And that's of course what scares the hell out of
the Pentagon in Washington, DC, five twenty seven. It is
time to take a look at your money. Good morning,
Jeff Ellinger, Jimmy, Good morning to you. Stock's advanced in

Committee chair Brad Windstrip. Here at home, the Texas Medical
Board is under fire for secretly targeting a Houston doctor,
Mary Tally Boden has been targeted over her criticism of
the lockdowns and the vaccine mandates three years ago.
Speaker 26 (22:12):
There's really no valid reason that it should be confidential
other than they don't want me going on X and
making them look bad. We've got to change the policy
so that going forward, they're not given the ability to
abuse their powers the way they're doing.
Speaker 6 (22:27):
She's got support from the Texas legislature right now to
stop the weaponization of the TMB. Boden joins Jimmy at
seven twenty coming up on five point thirty three. The
left is fighting the Trump transition at every turn, attacking
several cabinet picks Pete Hegsith, Tulsea, Gabbard, Cash, Pateel. Those
(22:47):
attacks are not convincing Senate Republicans so far.
Speaker 27 (22:51):
I am not going to make any decision based on
an anonymous source. If you're not willing to raise your
hand under oath and make the accusation, it doesn't count.
I've heard everything about all these people. None of it counts.

Speaker 29 (23:45):
We have whistle blowers that called out Texas Children's Hospital
doctor him in Nurse Vanessa Sivage on this issue.
Speaker 6 (23:53):
Jonathan Signs with Texas Values. Decision is expected by next summer,
and you heard Signs mentioned doctor him and lawyers for
TCH for for him rather say that the DOJ tried
to silence him with a gag order. Texas State Rep.
Brian Harrison called that move quote outrageous on social media. Now,
despite a six to three conservative advantage, we know that
(24:16):
there have been times that US Supreme Court justice haven't
always voted based on conservative values.
Speaker 19 (24:22):
I think it's extremely important when you're vetting judges that
not only you look at opinions they've written while on
the Court of Appeals or decisions they've made as trial
courts if they've held those respective positions, but also look
at their writings and law review articles and other periodicals.
Speaker 6 (24:37):
Houston lawyer Jared Woodfield says Trump should appoint somebody as
similar to Clarence Thomas as possible. That is, of course,
if Thomas opts to retire, as many believe he will
over the next four years five point thirty five on KTRH.
The bitcoin boom continues. Now priced it over one hundred
two thousand dollars this morning. It's grown by one hundred
(24:59):
and forty percent this year alone, forty eight percent since
Trump's election win. The President elect, of course, has been
a big Bitcoin backer. Some are concerned it could compete
with the dollar. That Chared your Own Pal disagrees.
Speaker 5 (25:14):
Just like gold, only it's virtual. It's digital.
Speaker 30 (25:17):
People are not using it as a form of payment
or as a store of value. It's highly volatile. It's
not a competitor for the dollar. It's really a competitor
for gold.
Speaker 6 (25:25):
Howell at a New York Times event yesterday. As for
the Biden economy, social Security applications, well, they've dropped sharply lately.
Speaker 31 (25:35):
Since January. Supplemental recipients have dropped twenty thousand.
Speaker 32 (25:39):
What that indicates is that maybe more people are going
to work or there were also some changes made by
the Social Security Administration, and so some of that change
the eligibility criteria.
Speaker 31 (25:49):
Economist doctor Van Skin says high cost of living has
made it tougher for recipients and that snowballs into making
staying retired more difficult.
Speaker 32 (25:57):
Even though inflation has quote unquote moderated some, it'st US
at three percent, and I think that we're going to
see more inflationary pressures.

Speaker 34 (27:01):
They totally know that we're doing this and they count
on us. They pray for our listeners that we will
become partners and hope. It's just nineteen dollars a month,
it's nothing.
Speaker 6 (27:11):
We helped raise a million dollars last year. That's Dana Tyson.
Of course, from Sunday, Jimmy's gonna have all the details

Speaker 2 (27:32):
This is Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett, five thirty eight.
Speaker 3 (27:38):
Your time here on Houston's mooring News. So little follow
through in a story that we've kind of been following
for the course of the last month six weeks or so.
Texas teachers under investigation for the certification cheating scandal led
by HISD coach you remember that story, Ryan got a
coach working in HISD and I think four other people
five in total, who were helping facilitate cheating on the
(28:05):
teacher certification test. They were taking the test for people
who evidently couldn't pass the test on their own, thereby
allowing them to get teacher certification that they weren't qualified
to get. And nearest we can determined, although I don't
think there's been enough transparency honestly with this story, nearest
(28:26):
we can determine, there's probably about one hundred educators and
I'll put that in air quotes who are working or
have been working at schools, public schools, maybe some private
schools around the great State of Texas, who are not
certified to teach. We know that charges have been brought
against the people who were running the scam, but what
(28:51):
about charges against the people who were willing participants in
allowing others to cheat for them? Will they be charges
coming there? And are any of these teachers were still
employed at any public school in the greater Houston area.
We know that there are some who are working in
Houston or have worked in Houston at least as shorter
time period ago as October we don't know their names,
(29:14):
and we don't know if they're still there. We also
know that there were other suburban districts like Katie and
Cypress Fairbanks that also appeared on the list of having
uncertified teacher or teachers. Not sure how many. Same thing though.
What has happened to them? Are they under personal investigation?
(29:35):
Have they been fired? Are they suspended? Are they still
in the classroom. That's the kind of stuff we need
to know. Five point forty time for traffic and weather together. Hey, yes, guy, Mike.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
You know James from Texas City said, if we don't
have landlines anymore, are we still gonna have phone books?
Speaker 5 (29:51):
What do you think, Jimmy, do you still get a
phone book?
Speaker 8 (29:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (29:54):
I actually did. I got one in the old ghetto house.
Speaker 3 (29:56):
I never really understood the whole idea with phone books.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
Sometimes when I have to sit at a table, the
chair is a little low.
Speaker 5 (30:02):
So you know, took my driver's test. There you go.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
Let's see here, we've got downtown. We cleared that wreck
on it in coming from the Kadi side to the
Baytown side, right in front of Saint Ornald.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
That's out of the way.
Speaker 4 (30:13):

I'd like for everybody to bring it. Yes, this is

Speaker 20 (31:25):
Wow, oh, I know, it's crazy. So it looks like
Tomorrow and Saturday will be our coolest days. We'll be
in the fifties, but by Monday back up in the seventies.
So uh, stay on your weather toes, folks, and have
the complete wardrobe at the ready.
Speaker 6 (31:41):
So the coldfront has.
Speaker 20 (31:43):
Moved through, and what we're going to see are the
temperatures dropping slowly. Today there's a twenty percent chance of
a shower. By the way, mainly it's just a cloudy
day and by the afternoon, I expect temperatures in the
mid toupper fifties. So that's what I want folks to
be ready for. Four is a colder afternoon than what
we have right now. Tomorrow, dry with lots of clouds,
(32:06):
a little sunshine, mid upper fifties. Tomorrow, Saturday, next round
of rain, sixty percent chances of showers in the afternoon.
Speaker 6 (32:14):
We're in the fifties on Saturday.
Speaker 20 (32:17):
Sunday in ninety percent chants of rain, but temperatures mid
upper sixties, and then Monday, we're finally dry, and not
only dry, we've got sunshine and temperatures in the mid
to upper seventies.

This is Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New
South Windows Solutions.
Speaker 3 (32:42):
Just about five pointifty here in Houston's Born News. I
want to mention again that we are participating along with
Sunny and our other sister stations here in Houston in
the Saint Jude radiothon. It gets started at six. I'm
just going to mention this now it's ten minutes before
you can make a phone call, but I do want
to give out the number one hundred five eight eight
fourteen thirty three. There's one eight hundred five eight eight
(33:03):
fourteen thirty three. Starting at about ten minutes, we're going to
ask if you would please become a monthly donor by
pledging just nineteen dollars amount to help the kids at
Saint Jude fight cancer. That's what this is all about.
It's about kids, it's about fighting cancer. Last year we
were able to raise a lot of money. We'd like
to be able to do the same thing again because
the fight goes on and it will continue to go on.
(33:25):
You can put your new gift on a credit card.
If you do, you'll get the new this Shirt Saves
Lives t shirt and the Saint Jude sweatshirt.
Speaker 5 (33:31):
Again.
Speaker 3 (33:32):
Just jot down the number if you would. Can't call
for another nine minutes that's when the phone line's open.
But the number is one eight hundred five eight eight
fourteen thirty three. That's one eight hundred five eight eight
fourteen thirty three. The world is fascinated, certainly here in
this country, we are fascinated by this assassination of the
United Healthcare CEO in New York City, and there's all
(33:53):
kinds of theories about who this guy is that killed him,
and what his motive may have been. We'll share some
of that with you coming up next. First though, traffic
and weather together as we check out the drive with
sky Mike.
Speaker 5 (34:04):
Hey, technically we're clear. I don't have any incidents for
the moment.
Speaker 4 (34:07):
You'll be the first to know when we get something
and I'll have to get serious and quit all this
goofing around. But nord Sam, I do have a scooch

Five fifty three is the time here in Houston's morning
news that this New York case is really amazing. I
think thanks to thanks to all the crime shows that
many of us end up watching. I know my wife
is addicted. To those things, we all can begin to
theorize right about what happened. The United Healthcare CEO Brian
Thompson gets shot down in New York City early in
(36:26):
the morning on his way to a stockholders meeting in
cold Blood, and it's a It's clearly a hit. The
question is why would somebody hit him? And is this
guy a professional? John Walsh remember him from America's Most
Wanted John Walsh talking about some possibilities as far as
(36:46):
you know from what he's seen to the video and
what he might be able to surmise about who this
guy is.
Speaker 21 (36:51):
I don't think it's a pro.
Speaker 37 (36:53):
I've been doing this for years and I've never really
done a case thirty years on him. And I'm still
America's Most Want and we'll start up again in March.
So I never came across a really good pro, because
if they're really good, you don't know they're a pro.
This guy made a lot of mistakes. I made some
notes here for myself. You know, he was wearing sunglasses.
(37:15):
A real pro wouldn't have had I mean, he wasn't
wearing sunglasses. A real pro would have been wearing sunglasses,
so that they couldn't get them with facial recognition. He
had a half asked gone. He probably learned how to
build it, you know, on YouTube or something like that.
I think he was smart. I think somebody I heard
you say earlier today you thought someone may have paid him.
(37:36):
But I think about the stock deal, and I think
the trouble that the company got into. You never know
when people are hurt, and this company hurt. A lot
of doctors couldn't get their money. They are a lot
of patients that had to wait a long long time
to get their bills paid. So it may be somebody
out of control whose grandmother died because they couldn't get
(37:57):
the right doctor. They couldn't get the right help. But
the guys on the guy, I don't think he's a pro.
Speaker 3 (38:03):
Okay, not an assassin, but not a professional assassin. As
far as the motivation goes, you're gonna have to catch
the guy alive if you ever want to be able
to figure that part of it out.
Speaker 5 (38:13):
Easier said than done.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
As far as the motivation goes, the end result is
regardless of motivation, The end result is the same. Scary

Speaker 10 (40:03):
I think it's irresponsible to begin a discussion around cutting
entitlements before we've actually.
Speaker 5 (40:08):
Rung all of that waste and all of that excess
error out of the system.
Speaker 6 (40:13):
That is a vek Ramaswami ahead of the meeting he
and Elon Musk will have on Capitol Hill about DOGE today.
John Hart with Open the Books, an organization focused on transparency,
says they'll need Congress to play ball.
Speaker 7 (40:26):
Our founders put a transparency requirement in the Constitution that
precedes the Bill of Rights. None of the other freedoms
we enjoy are possible without transparency. They also want to
get the input of really any American that interacts with
the government.
Speaker 6 (40:39):
Elon, by the way, has said he only needs DOGE
operating until mid twenty twenty six. Pete Hegseth has not
been replaced as Defense Secretary nominee. His family is now
finding back, you know, accusing The New York Times of
being unethical in publishing a seven year old email that
(40:59):
she's already apologized for.
Speaker 36 (41:01):
They say, unless you make a statement, we will publish
it as is.
Speaker 21 (41:05):
And I think that's a despicable way to treat anyone.
Speaker 6 (41:10):
Threats are dangerous, Penelope heck set They're on Fox. Republicans
just took back control of the Senate. They may have
it for a while.
Speaker 38 (41:20):
It's a fairly safe bet that Donald Trump will at
least have a Republican majority in the Senate for his
entire four year term. Based on early projections for twenty
twenty six, things look pretty.
Speaker 21 (41:30):
Good for Republicans to retain the Senate.
Speaker 11 (41:32):
They may lose one seat potentially two seats, but since
they have a fifty three age of forty seven advantage,
it would still be in the majority even if it
got down to fifty to fifty because jade Vans wouldn't break.
Speaker 5 (41:42):

Political science professor Mark Jones says the only real vulnerable

while Democrats will have vulnerable seats in Michigan and Georgia.

It's now six ZHO three. And then there's Hunter Biden

four days ago.
Speaker 26 (42:05):
This is just yet another broken promise by Joe Biden.
Speaker 6 (42:09):
Alabama Senator Katie Britt on Fox there are growing calls
for President elect Donald Trump to pardon the January sixth
defendants now that Joe pardon Hunter. Julie Kelly, reporter with
Substack on ktrh's Clay and Buck Show, says the Biden
doj abused the law in going after the j sixers
(42:31):
from beginning to arm.
Speaker 13 (42:32):
This has been a rigged system.
Speaker 6 (42:34):
It violates our.
Speaker 13 (42:35):
Constitution and that is why I believe support a blank
a pardon. And if Joe Biden can do it for
his son, I think the president and his thing can
do it for the almost sixteen hundred j sixth defendit.
Speaker 6 (42:46):
Don't forget Clay and Bucker on at eleven on k TRH.
The Left continues to cry about the upcoming mass deportations,
but they seem to forget what the last Democrat president did.
Speaker 39 (42:58):
We continue to have these the he left Santuary cities
that continue to badmouth, if you will, President Trump about
what he wants to do with the criminal Avians. But
yet we had a president eight years ago that was
known as the deporter in chief.
Speaker 6 (43:14):
Terrell County, Texas Sheriff thed Cleveland referring to Barack Obama.
This morning, the president of South Korea is being told
to either resign or face impeachment for declaring Marshall Law

Speaker 28 (43:27):
Any political disagreements need to be resolved peacefully and in
accordance with the rule of law.
Speaker 6 (43:33):
US Secretary of State Anthony Blincoln in Brussels. It's now
six ZHO five. The manhunt continues in New York City
for the person that shot and killed United CEO United
Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson yesterday.
Speaker 40 (43:46):
After the assassination, the gunman escaped through an alleyway before
hopping on an e bike and disappearing into Central Park.
And now we are learning some clues as to a
possible motive. Deny, depose, and defend written on live rounds
and showcasings left behind by the masked assassin.
Speaker 6 (44:04):
Fox's Chanty Painter reporting here at home. Bond is raised
to three million dollars for the man charged with stabbing
his sister and two year old niece to death over
the Thanksgiving weekend. Police are also looking for five Texas
inmates on the run after being released on medical parole, but,
as Andy Kahan with Houston Crime Stopper says, the state's
(44:25):
Department of Criminal Justice won't release their names because of
hippo laws.
Speaker 17 (44:29):
Well, guess what, you lost your caveat as a medical
parole once you crossed that line and you became a fugitive.
Speaker 5 (44:37):
Game over.
Speaker 17 (44:38):
But for whatever reason, CDCJ is not forthcoming with releasing
any of that instortation.
Speaker 6 (44:44):
And they've also admitted they have no idea where those
fugitives are. Six six now on KTRH for the next
two days, we are joining Sunny ninety nine point one

Speaker 18 (45:01):
It can be a really difficult time for families, but
you know, places like Saint Jude can help carry that
burdened hand. And it thanks to the thanks to your
audience that that we get a chance to do that.
Speaker 6 (45:12):
Pastorge Gerond with Saint Jude. You can become a partner

to call eight hundred five, eight h one four four three.
Last year we helped raise more than a million dollars

Speaker 3 (46:02):
Well, as the cliff just said, our Saint Jude Radiothond
is underway six o eight hour time again here on
Houston's Morning News. By the way, sponsored again by Gallery
Furniture this year. Thanks Mac, We do appreciate that. By
the way, keep Mac in your prayers. He's got some
open heart surgery he's gonna be going through next week.
But thank you as always, sir. All right, let's do
this first, and that is why do we do what
(46:23):
we do. Why do we try to raise money for
Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital. I think the answer to
that is pretty obvious. They take cases that just overwhelm
other hospitals and they provide hope to families that seemingly
don't have a lot of hope. Childhood cancer is a
devastating disease and it is something that Saint Jude has
(46:45):
done a remarkable job of fighting. You know, when Saint
Jude Children's Research Hospital began, the cure rate was about
twenty percent. That cure rate is up to eighty percent,
so they're doing some amazing things. So the question is
always how can you help? It's really simple. You could
become a monthly donor pledged just nineteen dollars a month
of the kids a Saint Jude Fight Cancer. You can
(47:05):
put your gift on a gift card. You get the
new This Shirt Saves Lives T shirt and the Saint
Jude sweashirt. For participating, call now please one eight hundred
five eight eight fourteen thirty three. One eight hundred five
eight eight fourteen thirty three. Again, that's one eight hundred
five eight eight fourteen thirty three. Oh hang on now
six o nine. Let's talk about this versa. Have you
(47:27):
seen this commercial they've reinvented Santa Claus. Santa Claus? What
is he driving in that Target commercial? He's driving it
looks like it's like a Ford Bronco or something in
Christmas colors. And he's driving it, you know, without without
a roof on it. It's like a convertible, you know,
sport utility vehicle kind of thing. I guess that's his sleigh. Now,
(47:50):
that's Santa Sleigh and he's going to work at targets,
and he you know, he's telling everybody, how yo, he's

because he's got to keep in shape because he has
all these toys to deliver around and then he hesitates

but the rest of it not so much.
Speaker 20 (49:41):
Yeah, we've got a lot of low clouds and some
drizzle out there this morning. Let's call it a twenty
percent chance that you might run into a shower to
this morning. I think the rest of the day will
be dry. What I'm expecting, and that's the big change
is the temperatures to fall to get cooler as we
head into the afternoon. So right now a lot of
(50:03):
places are in the sixties, but by later this afternoon,
I think the temperatures will be in the midchupper fifties.
So you want to be ready for that cooler weather. Tomorrow,
a dry day, maybe a little bit of sunshine. It's chilly,
only in the mid upper fifties.
Speaker 5 (50:17):
Tomorrow.
Speaker 6 (50:18):

It's over by winning. This is three sixty five. It's
past winning and we've got you're heading over toward Beaumont.
A major skip up here. Now there's two good routes
for this. I love seventy three. I call it the
Alligator Autumn. Doesn't matter why. Ninety is also a good
way to get around that. You can go through China
(52:11):
and go through Devers and get around that. But whatever

Speaker 5 (53:41):
Time to cut that cake. In Washington, DC.
Speaker 3 (53:43):
That huge, monstrous federal budget and cutting billions really shouldn't
be that hard. John Hart joins us, the CEO of
openthbooks dot com. You've got the fake ramaswamin Elon Musk
in Washington, d C. Today, John, and I'm thinking that
their presence alone is making people nervous.
Speaker 41 (54:00):
Oh I certainly hope. So it's great to be on again.
Speaker 7 (54:02):
Yeah, they they have the work cut out for them,
for sure, but hopefully they're going to find some receptive
and eager partners to get down to the business of
cutting cutting that that cake, as you would say. But
that's actually it's a good metaphor because the what I
think about it around holiday season is this problem of
the pie.
Speaker 41 (54:19):
You know, how do you have once one pie and
you've got a bunch of hungry kids or guests, and
how do you feed them all?
Speaker 7 (54:26):
Well, one of the magic of the free market system
is if you is if you increase economic activity, you
increase growth, you actually grow the pie, you make a
bigger pie. And what what Elon and Bvek are going
to be able to do is by cutting spending to
these wasteful programs and agencies, they're going to make it
They're going to make it easier for everyone listening to
(54:46):
grow their own budget, to grow their business.
Speaker 41 (54:49):
And that's what this is really all about.
Speaker 3 (54:51):
John, let me add your analogy here the federal government
is that that get at the table. He doesn't need
that big honkin piece of pie. He needs he needs
a little tiny use of buying that's right.
Speaker 41 (55:02):
Yeah, And he needs to work out. He needs to,
he needs to. And let's just to go a little
step further by and by working out and by.
Speaker 7 (55:10):
Eating less and by getting in shape, he's gonna he's
gonna be he's gonna.
Speaker 41 (55:14):
Have a better future. He's going to be more effective.
Speaker 7 (55:16):
And and and when I worked on the Senate for
years with a Senator named Tom Coburn, we forced the GEO,
the Government Accountability Office, to do an annual report on duplication.
We found there's about one hundred or two hundred million
dollars of duplication every year. But one of their key
findings is, and this is purely common sense, but you
(55:36):
don't get a lot of common sense coming out of Washington.
And they said that by streamlining and reducing duplication, you
will improve the quality of services for taxpayers because when
there's fewer programs to navigate the ones that do exist
and that are effective, Uh, it's much easier for them
to do their job.
Speaker 34 (55:55):
Well.
Speaker 41 (55:55):
So it's the same the same analogy with the fat kid.
Speaker 7 (55:57):
If you if you lose a bunch of weight, he's
gonna much happier, much more effective.
Speaker 3 (56:01):
Well, here's the problem, though, John, I don't think identifying
the waste is going to be a problem at all.
They'll have no problem finding billions of dollars that can
be cut from the budget without really having any impact
on your average American in any way, shape or form.
The question is, can we get Congress to act on
those recommendations.
Speaker 7 (56:19):
Yeah, let me tell you why I'm optimistic. And so again,
I have some first hand experience doing this with what
I was in the Senate. You know, Cobran was on
the was called the Simpson Bulls that commission that that
was formed in the in the aftermath of the financial
crisis two thousand and seven, two thousand and eight. And
then that was a part based on something called the
(56:40):
Grace Commission that President Reagan put together forty years ago,
and he found one out of every three tax dollars
was wasted. So to your point, Yeah, we could get
rid of tons of waste, no one would feel anything.
In fact, we'd be happier, the economy would grow. Coburn
and during that Tea Party era, members like Jim Dementt
and others, they effectively reduced spending for the first time
(57:02):
since the end of the Korean war, but it was
just a blip and an overall one hundred year trend
of government increasing.
Speaker 41 (57:09):
So why was it so hard for us back then?
Speaker 7 (57:12):
Well, part of it is we didn't have you know,
historic figures, kind of the Thomas Edison of our time,
like Elon Musk. He has an incredible megaphone. You know,
the President obviously is a megaphone he's going to use.
Those are two things we didn't have going for us.
But the bigger issue politically is that there's been a
very important realignment in the past ten years where the
(57:35):
GOP is now the working class party. And back when
we were trying to cut spending ten fifteen, twenty years ago,
or you know, thirty years ago, in the Reagan years
forty years ago, the party that had the working class
base was the Democrats and they didn't want anything to change.
So they would demagogue anybody that said, oh, we need
to reduce the seisoscope of Department of Education, for example,
(57:59):
and they'd say we are going to hurt poor people.
And now people have figured out that that's just not true.
In fact, you'll actually help low income people by reducing
the behem the size of the federal government. So that
realignment is a big, big opportunity, and I think members
of Congress know that it's still going to be very,
very hard. It's going to take you know, really just
(58:21):
people like you just doing continuing to come back at this,
you know, have me on, have other guests on, just
remind people of how because it's it's not it's not
going to come from Elon and Viveka. It's going to
come from we the people. Right, I've had enough.
Speaker 5 (58:35):
You're absolutely right, and we're going to do our list.
Speaker 41 (58:37):
I want my kids to have a better future.
Speaker 3 (58:39):
Yeah, we'll do our best to keep the pressure up.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee. Now, a decision on this will
come in June. But remember, conservative justices don't always vote conservative.
Speaker 8 (01:03:13):
Sometimes they split with liberal justices on some of the
more important cases, and don't always interpret the Constitution as
written clearly.
Speaker 19 (01:03:20):
When you go back and you look at the writings
of some of our founding fathers, they emphasize in great

of one true conservative justice.
Speaker 19 (01:03:34):
I think he'll be looking for justices in the same

The President elect has made no bones about it. He's
a big backer of bitcoin. Some think it could wind
up competing with the dollar, but fed chared your own
Powell disagrees, just.
Speaker 30 (01:04:13):
Like gold, only it's virtual. It's digital. People are not
using it as a form of payment or as a
store of value. It's highly volatile. It's not a competitor
for the dollar. It's really a competitor for gold.
Speaker 6 (01:04:25):
Powell at a New York Times event. As for the
Biden economy, social Security applications have dropped sharply lately since January.
Speaker 31 (01:04:32):
Supplemental recipients have dropped twenty thousand.
Speaker 32 (01:04:35):
What that indicates is that maybe more people are going
to work or there were also some changes made by
the Social Security Administration, and so some of that change
the eligibility criteria.
Speaker 31 (01:04:46):
Economist doctor Van Skin says high cost of living has
made it tougher for recipients and that snowballs into making
staying retired more difficult.

Yeah, Cliff was just talking about our Saint jud Radio
Thon brought to you by sponsored by Gallery Furniture. Thanks Mack,
appreciate your help. As always, Dana did such a great
job of describing the home itself. It's not like a hospital,
It's more like a home. I mean, it is a hospital, obviously,
but the history of that hospital is really quite amazing.
Founded by Danny Thommens, who prayed to Saint Jude that
(01:07:03):
if he could get a little help with his show
business career, that he would pay back by beginning this
hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, in helping cure cancer and children.
And lo and behold, he got what he thought was
some divine help in that department, and he started to
(01:07:25):
work to build up Saint Jude and it has become
just an amazing place with amazing doctors. Nobody has to
pay for anything when you stay there. You don't pay
for food, you'll pay for transportation to get there. They
take care of everything so that all the parents have
to do is concentrate on supporting their kids. Again, we'd
(01:07:46):
like to urge you to become a monthly donor. It's
really simple to do it. Plug just nineteen dollars amount
to help the kids of Saint Jude fight cancer. You
can put your gift on a credit card. You'll get
the new this Shirt Saves Lives t shirt and a
Saint Jude sweatshirt. So please call now one eight hundred
five eight eight fourteen thirty three. That's one eight hundred
five eight eight thirty fourteen thirty three. One more time,
one eight hundred five eight eight fourteen thirty three. You
(01:08:10):
have no doubt to see the village people, right. You
get the cop, you got the construction worker, you got
the you got the Indian.
Speaker 5 (01:08:17):
The Indian's gay. I know the Indians gay.
Speaker 3 (01:08:20):
But Victor Willis, the guy who wrote YMCA, wants you
to note that YMCA is not a gay themed song.
It's got nothing to do about it. He says, there's
nothing gay about it. And by the way, he is
thrilled that Donald Trump liked the song, especially because he
played it at all. Those rallies led to even more
(01:08:42):
sales of it, and he has made millions of dollars
as the writer of that song since Trump started using it.
He also says his wife will start suing people who
insist the song is gay themed. Do you write in
the Navy? Is the in the Navy not gay themed either? Okay,
(01:09:03):
So don't say it's a gay song because you might
get sued six forty time for traffic. And what we're
together is that one of the village people talking to
Victor Willis, I believe so.
Speaker 5 (01:09:12):
I think he was the cop. I think he was
the comp yah, I think so. So he'd also be
the lead singer not a gay song.
Speaker 4 (01:09:19):
And he's thrill you know usually these guys, you know
when Trump uses oh, I don't want him using my deal.
Speaker 5 (01:09:24):
So that's pretty cool. I like him better.
Speaker 4 (01:09:26):
Let's go now, I've got good news from Finett. That's
east out in Rice Country. I tend Jefferson County says
they have cleared that record. It wasn't anything good at
the county. It's a three sixty five finette outbound. Now
there's got to be at least from what I can see,
a twenty five to thirty minute wait going that way.
So if you're anywhere close to there where you have
(01:09:47):
an option, do ninety instead.
Speaker 5 (01:09:49):
I like seventy three.
Speaker 4 (01:09:50):
Of course that goes the wrong the long way around
the Fort Arthur, but it's interesting, But for now, I
would continue to divert to ninety if I were you
also on west part right to wait, let's see eastbound
Highway six not a good spot for wreck.
Speaker 5 (01:10:03):
They move that over. Just watch out for the ninjas
on the scene. South Sam. It's meeking from Chema morning Mikey.
Speaker 19 (01:10:09):
It is a little sweaty, but people are behaving.
Speaker 34 (01:10:12):
Just a couple of folks who've got their flashers on
here and there, but nobody's on the side of the road.
Speaker 4 (01:10:18):
That drives me crazy. Turn those flashers off. I'm skymik
in a classic view at GMC Traffic Center.
Speaker 3 (01:10:23):
No flashing this morning from our KTRH Generator Supercenter twenty
four hour Weather Center, Terry Smith is here. The reason
why they're probably flashing a little bit. We've got some
fog to deal with this morning in a few spots.
Speaker 20 (01:10:34):
Yeah, we've got some low clouds hanging around. A couple
of places have had some drizzle. I'm not seeing any
issues with visibility as a whole Intercontinental about a quarter
of a mile, so that's probably the worst that I'm
seeing at the moment. So they the cooler air is

Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
All right, Tom Bray, Liberty County Doggy Update six fifty
three is that time here in Houston's morning news. You know,
there's something that strikes me about this story here is
that county officials in Liberty County, the judge, the Commissioner's court,
they really are not enjoying this at all. They are,
you know they are. They are adverse to the negative
(01:14:49):
publicity they're getting from this and all the television coverage.
KPRC two has been on this, like White on Rice
and Devin Clark, one of the reporters, yes, was out
trying to track down the judge and whatever county commissioners
he could find. So here's his report on where this
whole thing is at. First stop, Judge J. H.
Speaker 43 (01:15:09):
Niehause looks like he has a gate, so we'll just
leave this in his mailbox. The address that we found
for Commissioner Bruce Karbowski seems to have taken us to
a business, but we did find a phone number.
Speaker 32 (01:15:21):
And some version.
Speaker 5 (01:15:22):
I don't want to hear about it, so I don't even.
Speaker 16 (01:15:24):
Know where it's at.
Speaker 44 (01:15:25):
It's actually happening in the Colony Ridge area, mostly in
the Cleveland community.
Speaker 20 (01:15:31):
Would be pre Sainct.
Speaker 21 (01:15:32):
Three is up to the pre Sainct Three.
Speaker 42 (01:15:34):
Commissioner if there is a problem in your pre Sainct
De Bridge Commissionery.
Speaker 35 (01:15:39):
Court and apdan that it's important.
Speaker 5 (01:15:43):
Enough and that he gets voted on the entire pannel
most of town County.
Speaker 4 (01:15:48):
Commissionery in that area, and he didn't care of the
things he had against precincts.
Speaker 18 (01:15:53):
So that would be.
Speaker 44 (01:15:54):
Commissioner widmyre, Would you be willing to vote on something
that could help fix problem?
Speaker 6 (01:16:01):
Want to guess how I would if somebody can tell
me how.
Speaker 44 (01:16:04):
To pet We went to Commissioner David whitt Meyer's house,
but since it also had a gate, we called him.
Speaker 7 (01:16:11):
That's been turned over to the county attorney, but I
believed the judge is planning on have the meeting I
think one day next week.
Speaker 5 (01:16:18):
But when I get that information, I'll let you know.
People say that this is an issue that's been going
on for years. Has it been brought to your attention before.
Speaker 4 (01:16:26):
Well, I mean there's not everywhere you know, and so,
but no, I'm not the mauling and stuff like that.
Speaker 38 (01:16:35):
No, I'm not aware.
Speaker 5 (01:16:37):
That's been happening for years.
Speaker 1 (01:16:39):
Okay.
Speaker 44 (01:16:39):
Is it something that you think is important to address
and you hope that it is something that the county
is able to result?
Speaker 5 (01:16:45):
Absolutely?
Speaker 3 (01:16:46):
Yeah, I mean we don't want anyone to get hurt,
you know, but no, we planning on We're.
Speaker 5 (01:16:51):
Going addressing to see what we can come up with.
Speaker 3 (01:16:54):
You know, just another great thing happened over there at
Caldy Reds right, which has been nothing but problems for
Liberty County. But they kind of, you know, they kind
of let that happen to themselves. You know, they don't
they don't have a dog pound, they don't have an
animal control officer. They need to step it up as
(01:17:15):
far as how they're going to deal with this. Maybe
they need to hire private company just to get things
under control.
Speaker 5 (01:17:21):
Whatever.

Speaker 21 (01:21:39):
That's what they're trying to do to you. That's their playbook.
Get ready for more?
Speaker 6 (01:21:42):
Egs Seth with Meghan Kelly by the way, Heagseth also
on Capitol Hill today. Donald Trump has yet to be
sworn back in. Some are already looking forward to twenty
twenty six. In the midterms, Rice as Mark Jones says,
Republicans are almost a lock to keep control of the Senates.
Speaker 11 (01:21:58):
Republicans have to feel pretty confident, least initially, since there
only is really one vulnerable seat in Maine, and that's
offset by two vulnerable Democratic seats in Michigan and Georgia.
Speaker 6 (01:22:09):
Democrats would have to flip four seats to win back
control of the Upper Chamber. Seven h four now, Hunter
Biden in public for the first time since his pardon
on Sunday at a California fast food joint. Republicans still
outraged at what happened on Sundays.
Speaker 12 (01:22:24):
This pardon is a perversion of justice and it is
a utter disregard for the rule of law, and it
undermines further underminds the people's faith in our system of justice.
Speaker 6 (01:22:33):
House Speaker Mike Johnson. Trump has hinted he might pardon
some or all of the jan six defendants after the
Hunter Biden pardon report of Julie Kelly told KTRH is
Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Biden's doj through the book
at the J sixers.
Speaker 13 (01:22:49):
Hunter Biden wasn't subjected to the format the J sixers,
especially those on non existent charges. He was handled with
kid gloves the entire process. He did not face the
true kind of all charges that you should have.
Speaker 6 (01:23:01):
She wants Trump to issue a blanket pardon for all
January sixth defendants. It's seven oh five and at the border,
mass deportations are coming, but until then, the head of
Border Patrol, Jason Owens, says, the biggest threat is gang activity.
Speaker 14 (01:23:16):
It's a very serious there for us. It is one
of our top priorities, just like fentanyl. Tomorrow it may
be something else, but today it's TDA in Finnyl that
represent some of the biggest threats to our people in
this country.

The oulstair of Michelle Barnier by assembly vote is the
first in sixty two years to succeed.
Speaker 5 (01:23:39):
In France.
Speaker 15 (01:23:40):
Three hundred and thirty one votes supported the no confidence vote,
more than the two hundred eighty eight needed, meaning a
divided French government came together to support the change. The
vote was triggered when Barnier moved this week to use
a constitutional tactic to push through a contentious budget without
a parliamentary vote.
Speaker 6 (01:24:00):
Garnell Scott reporting. Police in New York continue their manhunt
for the person caught on tape shooting and killing United
Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Speaker 9 (01:24:10):
This does not appear to be a random act.
Speaker 6 (01:24:13):
Of violence, NYPD Commissioner Jennifer Tish. There top executives at
United Healthcare have been under DOJ investigation. Here at home,
police are still looking for the man who fired shots
at students near the campus of Sharpstown High School yesterday.
He also fired shots at a second group of teens.
Fortunately nobody was injured. There's also this The Texas Department
(01:24:36):
of Criminal Justice says they don't know where five prison
inmates who were released for medical issues are and.
Speaker 16 (01:24:42):
Even worse, they won't say who the fugitives are.
Speaker 17 (01:24:46):
This is absolutely absurd that you will not let the
public know who these individuals were have somehow magically disappeared, That.
Speaker 5 (01:24:55):
Is Andy Kahn with Crime Stoppers.
Speaker 17 (01:24:58):
If they were so close to yes or dying, how
had they just suddenly gone up and disappeared without anybody
noticing they were gone.

Speaker 18 (01:25:26):
When I walked into Saint Jude for the first time,
and even now as I walked through the halls, it's
a place of hope. You know, families are going through
really difficult situations.
Speaker 21 (01:25:35):
But if not for Saint Jude, than who that's past?
Speaker 6 (01:25:38):
Georgie Road with Saint Jude last year we helped raise
a million dollars. Jimmy will have all the details on

THO very latest on your way to work. This is
Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett seven and eight. Our
time here on Houston's Wanting News. I'd like to thank
the folks at Gallery Furniture again, Mac, thank you for
sponsoring our Saint Jude Radio thion. We're doing this in
conjunction with all of the iheartstations here in Houston, including
(01:26:19):
Sunny Course, which began this whole thing, and we kind
of all have jumped into it to try to raise
as much money as we can for Saint Jude Children's
Research Hospital. And the thing I've always struck by.
Speaker 3 (01:26:29):
I know you've seen some of the television commercials they
run and you see the kids and you see the parents,
and you see the parents sort of break down. But
they don't just break down because they're sad and worried
about their child, which obviously they are, but they break
down because of the huge level of love and support
(01:26:49):
that they get from Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital. It's
quite an amazing thing to get help from an organization
like this, so you don't have to worry about transportation,
you have to worry about food, or housing or any
of those things. They take care of the entire family,
so the parents can concentrate on taking care of their
child and being there to support their children. And that's
why we love supporting them. Here's the number to call
(01:27:10):
if you'd like to make a donation. One eight hundred
five eight eight fourteen thirty three. You can become a
monthly donor by pledging just nineteen dollars a month to
help the kids at Saint Jude fight cancer. Put your
gift on a credit card, you know, get the new
this Shirt Saves Lives T shirt in a Saint Jude sweatshirt.
One eight hundred five eight eight fourteen thirty three. That's
one eight hundred five eight eight fourteen thirty three. Once again,
(01:27:31):
one eight hundred five eight eight fourteen thirty three. Alight,
have you heard the latest on the Joe Biden pardon thing.
It's not just the kid, not just Hunter. Now he's
talking about a preemptive pardon for Liz Cheney. Hang on,
hang on, what did Liz Cheney do that she needs
(01:27:52):
to be pardoned for? That's got me curious. Who else
was on the list? Oh, doctor Anthony Fauci, Because now
this COVID story has come out, the Congressional COVID report,
there might be there might be some problems with that.
Really quite amazing. So if you're just going to hand
(01:28:12):
out get out of jail free cards, I mean, these
people haven't been charged with anything. How do you pardon
somebody for something they haven't been charged for? Here's Guy Benson,
I think a lot.
Speaker 45 (01:28:21):
I think publicans have been using that word in connection
with the president for a while, but it didn't really
break through, certainly to the media, which was protecting him
into maybe a bunch of average voters. This certainly throws
the whole floodgate open on the corruption side of the
Biden legacy, and I think it's a significant piece of
the Biden legacy. Now, you were talking about Gavin Newsom
(01:28:42):
there for a moment Sto and Democrats and how they're
starting to wring their hands about what to do about this.
Speaker 5 (01:28:48):
I was thinking about it last night. If I were a.
Speaker 45 (01:28:50):
Democrat right now, an elected Democrat. What exactly is there
in terms of a value to protecting or defending the
Bidens anymore? Them loose politically? They are completely expendable. Joe
Biden is in his eighties. He's never going to face
voters again. No one from that family I think has
a serious political future. They've moved on from him literally
(01:29:12):
in the election. They did that months ago. I don't
think there's too much political downside to seeing Biden and
that crew as expendable, throwing them completely under the bus
for political reasons and moving on and turning the page.
Using the phrase of Kamala Harris unsuccessfully tried to harness
in her presidential campaign, her truncated presidential campaign, this ship
(01:29:34):
is going down. There's a lot of ugliness here. Whether
we ever see the full scope of it, I don't know.
But why the Democrats, any of them other than people
named Biden, would want to saddle themselves with this any longer,
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (01:29:46):
No, it'd be a mystery. Yeah, this may go down.
Speaker 3 (01:29:48):
Is not only the worst administration by deministration, the worst
in history or certainly one of the worst in history,
but perhaps the most corrupt. Seven eleven, time for traffic
and whether together's we check in again with the skyline.
Speaker 4 (01:29:58):
You know a couple of things that are showing up
on some of your online sources that that are in red.
Speaker 5 (01:30:02):
East Loop northbound at ten.
Speaker 4 (01:30:04):
I suspect that one's not really shouldn't be a red item,
So stay the course if you're doing the east Loop
Ship Channel Bridge and then East tex southbound at ten.
Speaker 5 (01:30:13):
Now that one at the interchange.
Speaker 4 (01:30:14):
Ramp, that one will cause some scoochery if you're trying
to get on six to ten north, especially if you're
ready to get loopy and go over toward that squeeze
down at forty five North Loop. It is pretty heavy
now on the westbound lanes right at the squeeze down
at forty five south Loop six ten. Everybody's uh, let's
see two right lanes here. I'm going to call that
three lanes now south Loop six ten Old Galveston Road.
Speaker 5 (01:30:37):
If you're coming over from Gulf Kate trying to get
up to the bridge, look out Dean from Kingwood, I, Mike, dude,
Kingwood Drive at Royal Oak Whites are out all right?
Speaker 4 (01:30:47):
Here we go with that habitashery on Kingwood drive again.
See Steep from Seabrook Hape.
Speaker 14 (01:30:51):
This guy Mike was wondering if you knew what they
would do about the dogs that they were losing.
Speaker 5 (01:30:56):
Dark They messed with my mom's horses. You don't want
to know. And let's check. You know what, We're going
to check the West Park.
Speaker 4 (01:31:04):
They cleared that wreck at will Crest earlier around Highway six.
Actually that was on the outbound. We look to be
in pretty good shape. Now stay the course on the
west part. Terry Jack from Connecticuts, listening on the free
iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 5 (01:31:16):
Look at that snow.
Speaker 4 (01:31:17):
Picture I put on my Facebook page there, How deep
you think that is? Snow is so interesting. I don't
know why Jimmy's looking me come crazy, but I love
that picture.
Speaker 5 (01:31:25):
So you've never lived in it. I'm in the classic

Speaker 3 (01:31:32):
From our KTRH Top Tax Defenders twenty four our withather

our forecast. Not to worry about that, although we've got
a big cool down coming at least for a day

Speaker 5 (01:31:40):
Yes, a big cool down.
Speaker 20 (01:31:43):
For the rest of this week pretty much so you

Thought.
Speaker 3 (01:32:22):
I just want to tell you a really really quick
story here because this is not related to Saint Jude,
but it is related as a parent who had a
child who was sick at a very very young age.
And I can tell you that the worry that you
feel when you have in this case, I had my
first son, Matt had a condition called pyloric snosis.
Speaker 5 (01:32:43):
We didn't know what it was.
Speaker 3 (01:32:43):
We just knew that he was slowly starving because he
couldn't keep his formula down. He ended up at a
children's hospital and he had surgery at six weeks There's
nothing scarier for a parent than a child that young
undergoing surgery. So the fact that Saint Jude has the
support that they have, not just for the children before
the parents and the families makes all the difference in
(01:33:05):
the world. They keep everybody on an even keel so
that they could be the most help to their their patient.
The best thing you could do to help a kid
with cancer is to give them all the hope, give
the parents all the hope that's out there, and they

Speaker 4 (01:33:58):
Also at five nineteen some kind of perfufflemon on that
looks like that might be a stall.
Speaker 5 (01:34:03):
Right, this is all outbound. I'll let the rest of
the media know.
Speaker 4 (01:34:06):

Speaker 3 (01:35:13):
Radio seven k t RH. Our next guest chief practices
great Medicine. Her name is doctor Barry Tally Bouden. Problem
is doctor Bowden that she's would breathe them d By
the way, if you'd like to check her out, and
I urge you to do so, you could, You could,
you could do. You can't do a whole lot better
than her. As far as being a great personal physician. However,
(01:35:36):
she is still dealing with issues related to her stance
on COVID. The Texas Medical Board is we believe doing
some things that are rather unethical behind the scenes and
trying to keep it a secret. As far as how
they're treating doctors like her, Doctor Bowden joins us, Good morning, doctor.
Speaker 4 (01:35:54):
Good Maauren.
Speaker 5 (01:35:56):
I bet you thought that by now you'd have all
this behind you.
Speaker 3 (01:35:58):
You've got a new practice going on, and we can
just get on with the practice of providing patients with
great medicine. Why are you still being picked on?
Speaker 9 (01:36:07):
Right?
Speaker 36 (01:36:08):
I mean, I've been fighting this now for three years
and they have been granted three continuances and now they're
asking for summary judgment and which would deny me the
right to a trial or hearing. So and it's kept
it confidential, which is odd because it doesn't involve a patient.
(01:36:28):
I basically stepped on the toes of a hospital, a
Houston Methodist. I spoke out against their unethical vaccine mandates,
and then they publicly attacked me and ridicule me and
reported me to the medical board, and now they don't
want a public hearings.
Speaker 5 (01:36:49):
Is this all about revenge at this point?
Speaker 36 (01:36:52):
It seems so yes.
Speaker 3 (01:36:53):
Yeah, I don't I don't understand. What do you think
motivates them to try to take continue to take these
actions against you? How How have you damaged them in
any way, shape or form.
Speaker 36 (01:37:07):
Well, they made me a public figure. I mean I
had a few thousand followers Twitter when this all started,
and now I have almost half a million followers, and
they expected me to roll over when they attacked me,
but they went straight to the media. I mean, I
got noticed that I was suspended from a reporter of
the Houston Chronicle, and then they started tweeting about me.
(01:37:28):
The next thing, I know, Washington Post, NBC, ABC, They're
all their headline story. I have people from all over
the world calling me, you know, pond, someum and sister
of the devil, and they made me public and I
fought back and I will continue to fight back. And
they don't like that. They didn't expect that. And I've
been very public and transparent about the Medical Board allegations.
(01:37:54):
We have all the evidence. They're just not They're just
choosing to ignore it and cherry pick what they want
to see. Will all come out in the public hearing,
but now they're trying to avoid.
Speaker 3 (01:38:03):
That, Yeah, because they don't want to have any witnesses
to what's going on here. You have sort of become
the poster child for everything that's wrong with corporate medicine.
Speaker 5 (01:38:11):
Haven't you.
Speaker 36 (01:38:13):
Well it wasn't what I envisioned happening and whatsoever. But
you know, in a way, I hope this leads to
some changes. I mean, before the pandemic started. I was
very passionate about you know, we'removing third parties from the
practice of medicine. So I have, you know, what I
call a third party free practice. I don't listen to
insurance companies, hospitals, and the government. The only people I
(01:38:37):
work for are my patients.
Speaker 4 (01:38:38):
And that that let that you know, that gave me
the power.
Speaker 36 (01:38:42):
During the pandemic to treat patients the way.
Speaker 18 (01:38:44):
They should have been treated.
Speaker 35 (01:38:46):
And I hope that you know, as we learn.
Speaker 36 (01:38:49):
From the mistakes of the pandemic, that we can see
some changes in the way medicine is practice in general.
Speaker 3 (01:38:55):
I think that that's part of the reason why why
your persecution shocks me so much. You just had the
Congressional cover Report come out, doctor Bowden, and it made
it very very clear that just about everything that was
done during the COVID nineteen pandemic was wrong. The masks
don't keep you from getting it. The social distancing was
not based on science. Just somebody came up with this
wild idea that they were lying about the Wuhan lab
(01:39:19):
and how the thing was created. The whole thing is
a house of cards.
Speaker 36 (01:39:23):
Yeah, it's frustrating because the people who were calling the shots.
Were doctors with no firsthand experience. They were sitting in
their bedrooms behind zoom calls, dictating what was going to happen. Meanwhile,
I've never had this period in my career where I've
seen the same type of patient over and over again
in such a short period of time, and concentrate thousands
of patients the same problem. You become an expert very quickly.
(01:39:47):
And yet we were dismissed, we were called quacks and
in that yeah, they're still holding onto the narrative. They
want all babies to get three mr Anda shots by
the time they're nine months old. That's coming from the CDC.
Speaker 35 (01:40:00):
It's truly unbelievable.
Speaker 5 (01:40:01):
It really is.
Speaker 3 (01:40:02):

Radio seven forty KTRH. It's time now for the news.
(01:41:35):
Here's Cliff Saunders.
Speaker 6 (01:41:37):
Thank you, Jimmy. Good morning everybody. Seven thirty two on KTRH,
our top story this hour. Remember that House selects subcommittee
on COVID Well, they voted unanimously yesterday to pass the
final draft of its report.
Speaker 25 (01:41:50):
The lab leak is the most likely origin scenario that
the Chinese Communist Party was conducting dangerous research, and this
type of dangerous research was notionally supported by the NIH.
Speaker 6 (01:42:02):
Committee chair brad winstrip There and Politico reports that the
Biden administration is considering a preemptive pardon or for doctor
Anthony Fauci, amongst others. In Texas, the state's medical board
is under fire for secretly targeting Houston doctor Mary Tally
Boden over her criticism of not just the lockdowns but
(01:42:24):
the vaccine mandates in twenty twenty one.
Speaker 26 (01:42:26):
There's really no valid reason that it should be confidential
other than they don't want me going on X and
making them look bad. We've got to change the policy
so that going forward, they're not given the ability to
abuse their powers the way they're doing.
Speaker 6 (01:42:41):
She says there is strong support in the Texas legislature
to stop the weaponization of the Texas Medical Board. She
just joined Jimmy and you'll see that interview online at
KTRH dot com. It's now seven thirty three. The left
is fighting the Trump transition at every turn, attacking several
cabinet picks, including Pete Hegseth incoming DNI, Telsea Gabbard, and
(01:43:04):
Cash Battel, Trump's choice to lead the FBI. Those attacks, though,
are not convincing Senate Republicans.
Speaker 27 (01:43:10):
I am not going to make any decision based on
an anonymous source. If you're not willing to raise your
hand under oath and make the accusation, it doesn't count.
I've heard everything about all these people. None of it counts.
Speaker 6 (01:43:23):
South Carolina's Lindsey Graham with ktr each Sean Hennity also
on Capitol Hill, Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswami arrive in
about a half an hour to meet with lawmakers about
Trump's new Department of Government Efficiency.
Speaker 28 (01:43:37):
We have a unique opportunity here to really fix our republic,
and I can't think of a better person than Elon
Moskin and Vivek as well.
Speaker 6 (01:43:44):
Texas Congressman Pat Fallon on Fox Business. It's now seven
thirty four. The US Supreme Court heard oral arguments yesterday
in a case involving Tennessee's bannon so called gender affirming
care for kids.
Speaker 21 (01:43:58):
There's a Texas connection to this issue with as well.
Speaker 29 (01:44:00):
We have whistle blowers that called out Texas Children's hostile
doctor him and nurse Vanessa Sivage on this issue.
Speaker 6 (01:44:08):
Jonathan signs with Texas values there. He was at the
oral arguments yesterday. A decision is expected by the end
of June. Despite a six to three conservative advantage, we
know that there have been times that the US Supreme
Court justices don't always vote based on conservative values.
Speaker 19 (01:44:26):
I think it's extremely important when you're vetting judges that
not only you look at opinions they've written while on
the Court of Appeals or decisions they've made as trial
courts if they've held those respective positions, but also look
at their writings and long review articles and other periodicals.
Speaker 6 (01:44:41):
Houston area attorney Jered Woodville says that Trump should appoint
somebody as similar to Clarence Thomas as possible that is,
if Thomas opts to step down and retire, as many
believe he will over the next four years. It's now
seven thirty five. The bitcoin boom continues. Prices are at
over one hundred and three thousand dollars. That's grown by
(01:45:04):
more than one hundred and forty percent in twenty twenty
four and forty eight percent since Trump's reelection. The President
elect has been a big bitcoin backer. Some think it
might wind up competing with the dollar, but Federal Reserve
Chairman Jerome pal says, no, it won't.
Speaker 30 (01:45:21):
People use bitcoin as a speculative asset, right, It's like gold.
Speaker 41 (01:45:25):
It's just like gold, only it's virtual.
Speaker 6 (01:45:27):
Hell at a New York Times event there now the
number of supplemental Social Security Income recipient's dropped by twenty
thousand since January as the economy struggles along. Economist Van
Skin says this is a combination of people having to
go back to work because of inflation and new eligibility requirements.
Speaker 32 (01:45:47):
If you were people are receiving funds from SSI, then
that would help the program. However, if this is just
because of some eligibility criteria changes, that may not necessarily
have an influence on the long term solvent of the program.
Speaker 6 (01:46:01):
He says retiring. He says inflation rather has made retiring harder.
Now seven thirty six on KTRH, veterans looking for work
could find it at a job there going on at
Minted May Park today. More than seventy five organizations are
there looking the higher.
Speaker 33 (01:46:16):
Disabled American veterans will be there. We'll have the fleet
services of Cock's Automotive First Command, Financial Services will be there,
Lockheed Martin, the Military Sea Command, Sea Left Command, and
that's just the name of you.
Speaker 6 (01:46:29):
Carol Hims with recruit military there. She says that veteran
unemployment in Texas is at three percent plus right now.
The job there goes from eleven o'clock this morning until
three o'clock this afternoon, and of course today and tomorrow.
We've been talking about this all day long so far. KTRH,
along with Sunny ninety nine point one and our other

Speaker 3 (01:47:45):
Well, I will keep this fairly brief about the Saint
Jude Radio Thion sponsored by Gallery Furniture, because we're going
to have a patient, Saint Jude patient on who can
tell us all about that experience. His name is Emmanuel.
He will join us in about another fifteen sixteen minutes
or so. But I do want to remind you again
of the toll free number that clip just gave one
(01:48:06):
eight hundred five eight eight fourteen thirty three. We ask
that you please become a monthly dinner by pledging just
nineteen dollars a month to help kids in Saint Jude
fight cancer. You can put your gift on a credit
card and if you do, you get the new This
Shirt Saves Lives t shirt and a Saint Jude' sweatshirt.
The number again one eight hundred five eight eight fourteen
thirty three. That's one, eight hundred five eight eight fourteen
(01:48:26):
thirty three. One more time. One eight hundred five eight
eight fourteen thirty three seven thirty nine is our time
here in Houston's morning news. Right, let's let's talk about
surial breakfast surreal. United Kingdom has banned any daytime television ads.
This starts in October of this upcoming year, banning daytime
(01:48:47):
TV ads for surreals, muffins, burgers, and anything else that
the UK government deems to be quote unquote less healthy.
Hey god, what's left? How about eggs? You know some
people that think that eggs aren't healthy. There's some people
(01:49:08):
that think they're super healthy. Who's making the decisions here?
Measures unveiled yesterday, ads showing less healthy food and drinks
will only be allowed to be aired after nine pm.
Speaker 5 (01:49:19):
It's core.
Speaker 3 (01:49:20):
It's a lot easier for for the Brits to do
this because they basically they have different varieties of the BBC.
They don't they don't have as many television choices as
we do. But here's the thing, just like us, British
citizens can get television.
Speaker 5 (01:49:37):
From all over the world.
Speaker 3 (01:49:39):
Right if if you're just banning this stuff on British TV,
then what good is it going to do?
Speaker 5 (01:49:46):
And the and then in the.
Speaker 3 (01:49:48):
The summary they make here the position they seem to take.
It's the TV ads that make your kids want to
have frosted flakes or whatever it is? How many of
those come from kids begging for certain kinds of foods
that they see on TV versus the parents just going
ahead and buying it. Are they to start charging parents
who buy their kids sugary cereals? Think you start charging them?
(01:50:14):
I don't think so. Seven will make any difference. I
don't think so. Seven forty Time for traffic and whether
or together?
Speaker 5 (01:50:19):
Barborough Man called what does he want to pack of smokes?
I miss those ads seriously, East Freeway. That's gonna be
some hate mail. Let's go.
Speaker 4 (01:50:28):
You know what put on your hardheads, Jimmy Terry, we're
going to the hard working east side. It's it in
Sanjacento River Bridge, all right. That's supposedly a minor accident
at the left shoulder here. From what I can see,
we're getting pretty scunched up going that way trying to
get back way across the bridge, And of course after
we get out of probably the eight o'clock hour going
into it, we'll get that pavement repair right there at.
Speaker 5 (01:50:49):
The truck stops inbound.
Speaker 4 (01:50:50):
We are seriously squished now from lay Thrift all the
way into downtown. That's about a nineteen minute drag in.
And then we've got something on the East Loop, this
little Namby Pamby box truck thing. It wasn't a big deal.
It was kind of East Sloop six ' ten after
Market Street. They've moved it over to the site. It
was a very minor wreck. But it's messing up not
only the East Sloop from the exchange the bud Plant,
(01:51:12):
but it's also messing up the ramps here coming off
of ninety instead. So if you could flip over to
Wallaceville Road, get around that quickly with Patrick from the
West Park.
Speaker 18 (01:51:21):
Got mine, You got break a mile before you get
to the West timm Or exit TOOD ninety three.
Speaker 15 (01:51:26):
Turn on the brains, get moving on the lane.
Speaker 5 (01:51:28):
Turn on the brains, get moving on the lanes.
Speaker 4 (01:51:31):
I am totally stilling that I'm in the classic Buick
GMC Traffic Center.
Speaker 3 (01:51:36):
From r KTRH Generator Supercenter twenty four hour wather sentat
Terry's here and forecast is a little gloomy here for
the next couple of days.
Speaker 20 (01:51:44):
There's not a lot of sunshine the next couple of days, folks,
and plenty of cold temperatures at least for the rest
of this week. So a shower or two possible this morning,
but I think most of us are just going to
be cloudy and dry, and the temperatures are gradually cooling down,
so by later this afternoon middubber fifties and tomorrow a
(01:52:05):
dry day. Middubber fifties, rains back over the weekend, sixty
percent chance you'll get wet on Saturday. Temperatures are in
the fifties on Saturday Sunday and ninety percent chance of showers,
maybe some thunder. It warms up a little bit middumber sixties.
I'm super excited for Monday to show up, because that's
a sunny, dry day with highs in the seventies.
Speaker 3 (01:52:26):
Yeah, we'll be ready for that, wen't we. Right now

We're going to visit with a patient. I don't think
he's a current patient. I think he's a former patient.
It's Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital. We'll try to find

Speaker 5 (01:54:15):
Next on the ten. You know we can.
Speaker 3 (01:54:21):
We can tell you all we want about you know,
the Saint Jude experience and how they are different from
virtually any other hospital in the entire country. But I
think nobody can talk about that better than somebody who
actually has had the Saint Jude experience. His name is Emmanuel.
He's a patient from Houston. You're a former patient though, right, Emmanuel.
Speaker 35 (01:54:41):
Yes, still I'm a form patient, but I'm still able
to go up there and continue to make visits of needed.
Speaker 3 (01:54:47):
Now, as I recall your story, you had cancer behind
one of your eyes. Is that correct, Yes, sir my loft. Okay,
what what was the prognosis when you when you first
found out that you you had this form of cancer.
Tell me about, you know, going from just visiting with
doctors here in Houston and ending up in Saint Jude's.
Speaker 35 (01:55:07):
Yeah, well it was an interesting process. Uh. You know,
I was four years old and my mom just you know,
had a feeling that something was wrong. So with that feelings,
she toured us to the eye doctor and they said
I'm maginy glasses, and but that.
Speaker 5 (01:55:23):
Wasn't good enough for her.
Speaker 35 (01:55:24):
She still felt like something was wrong. So against tom
me back to the same doctor and again they said
margin glasses, and then again that feelings still was heavy
in her heart. So with another chips to the doctor,
the same one that they're tripped. She told us that
I had a tumor and capsuled the inside of my
eye and that's when everything.
Speaker 3 (01:55:44):
Started mm And that's how you ended up in Saying
Jude Children's Research Hospital. So so how long were you
there and what?
Speaker 25 (01:55:50):
What?
Speaker 7 (01:55:50):
What?
Speaker 5 (01:55:51):
What was that process?
Speaker 25 (01:55:52):
Like?
Speaker 5 (01:55:52):
I mean, you're what four or five years old at
the time, So what do you remember about that? Being
so young?
Speaker 35 (01:55:58):
You know, being four years old, it's a it was
definitely interesting to go through something like that because you know,
you don't really grab the concept of cancer and your
life been on the line the way it is. But
you know, for me, I know, it was definitely hard
of my parents, But for me, it wasn't I was
going to the hospital because I was sick. For me,
(01:56:19):
it was I was around a lot of people who
cared about me and who just wanted to help me
get better, and been at Saint Jude was exactly that.
Speaker 7 (01:56:27):
You know.
Speaker 3 (01:56:27):
That's the thing I think I hear more than anything
else from people who've had the Saint Jude experiences, what
an overall positive experience it is, what a generally happy,
positive place. It is that it doesn't really feel like
a hospital. Feels more like a big home.
Speaker 35 (01:56:42):
Yeah, exactly, That's exactly how I would describe it. It
was it wasn't like I was in a place where
my life was in danger. It was I was in
a place where people knew me by name and they
were happy to see me.
Speaker 3 (01:56:59):
Now, I know that, you know, getting cancer treatment can
be an expensive process, but that's the other thing that's
so different about Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital. Your parents
never got a bill. They never had to pay for meals,
they never had to pay for a place to stay,
they never had to pay for your treatment. If you
have any idea in real dollars what that would have cost,
if that had come out of your parents' pocket, well,
(01:57:21):
I mean, glory to God.
Speaker 35 (01:57:22):
I've been able to experience the process firsthand. I've been
able to go to fundraisers and experience people donating, and
you know, they have on the screen where one one
single treatment could cost an we're from five to ten
thousand dollars, and seeing people willingly and joyfully giving them
(01:57:44):
money to save that child for just one treatment when
most need multiples. You know, seeing that is just incredible.
I had no idea how much how much it could cost. Needs,
from the surgery to the hotels, the flight, the ansthetic
eyes that I've needed. I have no clue, but I
(01:58:05):
just know there's a lot of people behind it that
dof me give them money.
Speaker 3 (01:58:09):
Yeah, Emmanuel, thank you for sharing your How old are
you now, by the way, before I let you go.
Speaker 35 (01:58:13):

Speaker 3 (01:58:16):
