over to the bud Plant and East Freeway outbound. We're
just about to pick up that make that inbound. I'm
looking backwards here from Federal to Mercury. They've taken out
a right lane. Flashy lights. It's like a parade of
suckage on the inbound there. It's just about done with
this business. By the way, we have a listener yesterday
(01:03):

the EPA announced as a plan to revoke an Obama
era declaration on greenhouse gas emissions, specifically the two thousand
and nine Engagement Finding, which concluded that those gases are
quote a threat to health.
Speaker 7 (02:05):
This amounts to the largest deregulatory action in the history
of the United States.
Speaker 5 (02:11):
EP Administrator Lezelden on Fox Oil markets. Reacting prices are
down forty three cents this morning to sixty eight dollars
and seventy eight cents a battle. The tsunami threat downgraded
after waves hitting Hawaii. This followed an eight point eight
earthquake striking off the east of Russia. A tsunami advisory
is in effect for California. We are getting reports of
(02:33):

Scotland where he made a trade deal with the EU,

China to open up, that's what I've been working on.
Speaker 5 (03:02):

Five h three now on KTRH.
Speaker 1 (03:13):
I should be at the Capitol, I should be in
a suit.
Speaker 9 (03:17):
Instead, Republican sent his home because they would rather stand
up for Donald Trump then release the FCTE files.
Speaker 5 (03:25):
That's a cringe worthy video posted to x by California
Democrat Congressman Eric Swolwell to complain about Trump. And then
there's Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett proving once again that she's
not ready for prime time. The Dallas Democrat tied to
shut down The Atlantic from running it running a profile
on her because the reporter talked to other Democrats about
(03:47):
her rhetoric.
Speaker 10 (03:48):
Your presentational style that might get you on the cable
news doesn't necessarily put you in their best standing among your.
Speaker 5 (03:56):
Colleague SMUs cal Jillson says. Crockett is well liked on
Capitol Hill. Proof of this well her failure to become
the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee. None of
this is helping the Dems, who have their lowest approval
ratings in thirty five years.
Speaker 11 (04:12):
Just when you thought they'd hit rock bottom, they found
a shovel.
Speaker 12 (04:16):

Mark Meckler Convention of States, says Democrats are stuck with
no momentum to gain and with midterms coming, they're in trouble.
Speaker 4 (04:31):
The party out of power.
Speaker 12 (04:32):
The Democrats are out of power for a reason because
they are so disconnected from the American people.
Speaker 11 (04:37):
He says Republicans might even gain some seats in twenty
twenty six. Andre Parardan, who's radio seven forty KTRH, thank you.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
Andre.
Speaker 5 (04:45):
Elon Musk is still moving ahead with plans to start
a third political party. Some are wondering if he might
be the next Ross Perot, but political expert Dan Snell says, nah,
it's not gonna happen.
Speaker 13 (04:58):
I do not believe that Elon himself could become a
factor in American politics. There's a lot of things to
come into place when you have a third party, and
I don't think he has the wherewithal or the actimen
as Ross Burrow had.
Speaker 5 (05:12):
New Pauland showed that sixty three percent of voters support
the idea of a third party, but seventy four percent
were against Elon as the answer.
Speaker 1 (05:21):
It's five oh five.
Speaker 5 (05:22):

consistent information that describe patterns of manipulation.
Speaker 5 (05:42):
Investigators think there are other victims out there. New County
DA Sean Tier continues to deal with major turnover inside
of his office, something he promised to fix during the
campaign last year.
Speaker 15 (05:54):
One of the main causes for this is likely the pay,
which is far below that of private firms.
Speaker 16 (05:59):
A lot of folks come out of law school, go
to the DA's office to get.
Speaker 17 (06:03):
Some trial experience, and later go on and make a
lot more money with a big civil firm.
Speaker 15 (06:07):
Jared Woodfield with the Conservative Republicans of Texas says the
DA's office is also viewed as political these days.
Speaker 17 (06:13):
In the aug administration, you had a lot of folks
upset as she was abusing in the office in an
effort to promote a political agenda.
Speaker 15 (06:21):
We reached out to the DA's office about this, but
they didn't respond to a request for comment. Ethan Buchanan

Speaker 4 (07:20):
Love me some farmers Almandad five O eight. It is
our time here in Houston's morning news. I threaten to
do this every year, and I get to do it.
Shame on me to actually follow the Farmer's Almanac forecast
on a daily basis. See the problem is, I'm too
lazy for this. I talk a big game about doing it,
but I'm just too lazy. To do it, but to
(07:42):
follow the Farmer's Almanac forecast and see in compare to
the weather. We actually have to see how accurate it is.
I would guess because weather predicting weather around here is
very difficult best and oftentimes not accurate, I would guess
(08:05):
that the Farmer's Albanac probably has as good a chance
as most meteorologists do in predicting what the weather's going
to do. So when I see these forecasts come out,
you know, it's like yesterday we were talking about how
we're supposed to shift into a La Nina forecast late
this fall this winter. Terry was talking about it yesterday,
and that generally means that we're going to have warmer
(08:27):
temperatures than normal, Not to say that every day is
going to be warm, but warmer temperatures than normal this
winter and drier conditions than normal this winter. Generally speaking.
I only mentioned the Farmer's Albanac forecast because the fall
forecasts come out, and here's what they say about the
Deep South, which is the region we are in. While
(08:49):
the northern half of the Deep South can expect hot
and dry temperatures this season, the southern portion of Alabama
Mississippi and Louisiana can anticipate warm temperatures in average rainfall.
It's very generic. But we are in an area in Texas.
We are in an area that is supposed to be
warm and dry this this upcoming fall, and if that
(09:12):
goes along with La Nina. Of course, what you'd like
to know is is you know, did they forecast well
ahead of time that La Nina was going to happen?
Did they just happen to know that? Who knows five
to ten time for traffic and weather together. Just check
out the drives that Mike, what's going on?
Speaker 1 (09:28):
Let's find out. You know, I don't. I've got a
pretty clear map right now. But of course we've got
our tip line seven one three two one two tips
Daniel Porter.
Speaker 19 (09:36):
Just south of Ritchie Road, there's an accident at eighteen
wheeler and a truck. The eighteen wheeler's taking the middle lane,
but the truck is actually off to the side of
the road.
Speaker 1 (09:48):
All right, that's southbound. Let me let the rest of
the media know about it. It's not showing up on
any screens. Golf Freeway Drake from Texas City, Mike, last
day of summer.
Speaker 2 (09:57):
Look, thank god, today, I have to wake up the
dagum early in the morning.
Speaker 13 (10:03):
The one night thing is that traffic is all clear,
even that little skun shit at Belton.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Well said, And I think that'll be changing in the
next week or so with school coming in Terry the
Atlanta Falcons. Since you're from Atlanta. Atlanta Falcons used to
have a linebacker named Kaikendall. But if you lived in Houston,
how would you say it? Remember? Do you remember by
any chance, Keiking Doll? See it's getting better, kirkandall here
we go. Greg R. Willis called in yesterday. He was
a little embarrassed. Oh my god, I've been here twenty
(10:31):
five years.
Speaker 20 (10:31):
I can't believe I said the friking doll wrong.
Speaker 1 (10:34):
The traffic codes, Greg for Willis, It's all good, dude,
prop mess up every day in front of a million
people at least once. That's a let's how you know
we're live and we got a free iHeart radio app.
Guy I pronounced kirkandall wrong.
Speaker 6 (10:48):
Gives me an idea, you guys can do things around
Houston people not from Houston mispronounced Oh.
Speaker 1 (10:54):
That's good, or you could even do you know, from
Houston not from Houston. You know you're from or not
from when? And Terry. One thing I did not know
this is how you know I'm from Houston because I
grew up watching the Jerry Lewis telethon this time of year.
It came on a Labor day. I did not know
until I was probably in my forties that the hurricane
graphic on the top of the screen was not part
(11:14):
of Jerry Lewis's show. I thought Jerry Lewis was watching
the hurricane too. I'm in the USA RB Resorts dot
Com traffic center.
Speaker 4 (11:21):
There is no rn kirkandol. That's part of the problem. Yeah. Yeah,
we don't pronounce the h and humble, at least for
the at least for the city San Jacinto.
Speaker 1 (11:29):
Even if you're Mexican, you say San Jacinto.
Speaker 21 (11:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (11:32):
How do you pronounce the street right down the road
from us sky Mine Street?
Speaker 1 (11:36):
Right down?
Speaker 22 (11:36):
Oh?
Speaker 10 (11:36):
Oh man.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Well, it depends on how long you've lived in Houston.
If you've been here a long time, it's San Philippe.
If you're new at Sam Philip, which is correct, but
you know we messed things up.
Speaker 4 (11:45):
Well, there you go. Defends a lot of it has
to do whether you're a come here or from here,
but from our KTRH top tax defenders twenty four, our
weather center, Terry Smith is here. We're flirt with one
hundred degrees today.
Speaker 23 (11:58):
Yes we are, is are.
Speaker 24 (12:01):
It is going to be hot and muggy, but we
got some rain on the way and that'll help to
gradually beat these temperatures down so that they're a little
more comfortable maybe by the weekend. No rain though today,
just high pressure and sunshine, so mid nineties to one
oh one for actual air temperatures now. The good thing
is the humidity is not out of control, so the
(12:23):
heat and the seas between one hundred and one oh
five pretty.
Speaker 1 (12:27):
Typical for us.
Speaker 24 (12:28):
But you know the drill that can really wear you down,
so be careful. Here we go with the rank forty
percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow and Friday, a
fifty percent chance of thundershowers over the weekend. By the
time we get to the weekend, the temperatures will be
in the load to mid nineties.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
Temperature right now is eighty at your officials Severe Weather
Station News Radio seven forty KTRH.

Morning News team.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
All the info you need to take on the day.
All right, So we've heard this before, so I'm not
taking this as gospel. But supposedly, if there is no
buyer or no deal reached with China over TikTok, TikTok
will go dark in September, which is not all that
(13:20):
far away. Kevin O'Leary, who's one of the people who's
trying to buy TikTok, I talked about that yesterday. We'll
share some of that audio with you coming up next. First, though,
it's five funny. This is a little traffic and whether
you're clicking Jimmy, why are you clicking? Scott?
Speaker 1 (13:33):
I'm putting this in your end.
Speaker 22 (13:34):
You didn't know.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
We controlled this, Me and my workwife, Christina Cruz and
Jumping Joe. We put this stuff in your in car navigation.
Oh do you know that people don't know? I'll say
forty five Nord Freeway at Richie blah blah blah blah
blah blah, and me put the backup in. I've got
some kind of eighteen wheeler wreck here. The big truck
is in a center lane and let's source here. Oh,
it's our ktr riach tipline. I'll put that in there,
(13:56):
and we're almost down. I've got the backup. And now
when I clicked this little thing, it's gonna tell me
how how big the scooch is. And it shows for
now a two minute delay that's about to get worse.
We're also sharing it with the rest of the media
and Daniel from Porter this morning's first banana sticker. It's
your USA Rvresorts dot Com.
Speaker 4 (14:13):

Dotty run and is ra Vice Riot big beautiful pill
use radio seven k t rhys.
Speaker 4 (15:21):
They might be blown up TikTok in September. Maybe maybe
I'll believe that when I see it. Five twenty three
is that time?
Speaker 22 (15:27):
You know?
Speaker 4 (15:28):
President Trumpe has just continued to stretch out the deadline
for somebody to buy TikTok or the China to sell TikTok,
and he's extended. I think he's extended so many times.
Number One, because he feels a little bit beholding to TikTok,
because TikTok helped him immenseally when it came to the election.
I get that. I think he also realizes that there
(15:51):
are going to be a lot of people who are
going to be upset if all of a sudden, TikTok
ceases operations in the United States, So that I think
is he's done that. But evidently of this deadline, at
least rumor has it, this deadline is going to be firm.
There will be no further extension for TikTok. Here's Kevin
O'Leary of Fox Business yesterday talking about the situation that has.
Speaker 22 (16:14):
Not been addressed. But I think the.
Speaker 26 (16:18):
Real issue here is, and this is if you're a
byte Dance shareholder, this is complicated. As of this morning,
Byte Dance in the US is only worth about eight
point four percent of the market cap of the US
TikTok is eight point four percent of byte Edance's market cap.
So if you're Chi and you have the supersher, you
don't give it.
Speaker 22 (16:37):
Damn. If you own the stock of byte Dance, you
don't give it.
Speaker 27 (16:40):
Damn.
Speaker 22 (16:40):
It doesn't matter if it.
Speaker 26 (16:41):
Goes dark until today, because all of a sudden, what
those of us are very involved in the TikTok dealer
are hearing, Canada says, wait a second, if it goes
dark in the US, lights out in Canada, then you're
over in Europe, other countries saying, well, wait a minute,
it must be spyware if the US shut it off
just like India did, and only, but surely that market
cap is being chiseled at one country at a time,
(17:04):
and then all of a sudden, if you're a large
shareholder of byt dance, you're going, eh, shawakama, what's happening here?
Speaker 22 (17:11):
I'm going to get wiped out here? So now this is.
Speaker 26 (17:14):
A this is a domino effect of market cap. And
if you're the buying syndicate, you're saying, how many people
are going to leave the platform during the dark.
Speaker 22 (17:23):
Weeks of negotiation?
Speaker 26 (17:25):
Because I can tell you right now, as of today,
every single one of the businesses that represent around eleven
billion of revenue there have contingency plans, including all of mine.
Speaker 22 (17:34):
This is the first week ever, mean you'll move on.
This is the first week ever.
Speaker 26 (17:38):
In my buying group on a digital buy which we
do every Tuesday, where TikTok is not the number one buy.
Speaker 22 (17:45):
Because we got to get ready. We don't know what's
going to happen.
Speaker 26 (17:48):
September seventeenth, that's a hot time of the market for
customer acquisition. So we're making new deals with you know, everybody.
So we got a lot. This is a great question.
But what I just laid up for you is what's
boiling in the cauldron. But the number one issue is
I've got me here to the track and I'm here,
I'm listening to cotton and I'm saying, he's not going
to put off with it.
Speaker 22 (18:08):
They're not going to extend it. And that's okay. It
goes dark. It's gone dark before.
Speaker 24 (18:13):
You don't think that that there's going to be a
tremendous outrage on the part of all the users of
TikTok and that that's going to alarm politicians.
Speaker 22 (18:20):
I would think there's going to be such blowback.
Speaker 26 (18:23):
You know, we thought about that in India. You've got
the case study. You know how long the blowback was?
Five days?
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Right, people get over there, young people.
Speaker 26 (18:30):
Get over it real fast and they find the next
big thing that's interesting.
Speaker 4 (18:35):
Five days. That's all anybody cared about pulling the plug
on TikTok in India. Five days might last a little
longer here, but I get what they're saying. Yeah, we
move on to the next thing pretty fast these days,
don't we five twenty six, it is time to take
a look at your money, Denise Pelgrin, who's in this morning?
Speaker 23 (18:54):
Good morning, Yeah, good morning too.
Speaker 28 (18:56):

to cut interest rates. Another thing likely to get a

Suggestion that we send six hundred dollars cost dollars, your
cost dollars everyone in the country, whether they work or

And for the second time in a week, a group
of Texas House Democrats ran away from the state over redistricting.
A handful of House members went to New Mexico to
meet with that state's Democrat governor. According to reports, their
fundraising for a larger attempt to break Korn. We'll have
more on that tomorrow on Houston's Morning News. School starts
(23:30):
in Texas for some kids late next week, and thanks
to a new law, teachers must post a picture of
the Ten Commandments in their classrooms. Volunteers have started collecting posters,
which we delivered to schools for free.
Speaker 32 (23:43):
Under ten Commandments make sense, It's historical to our country.
What's wrong with seeing some good ideas on the wall.
Speaker 5 (23:51):
Cindy Castilla heads the Texas Eagle Forum, which is sending
posters to people across the state. The new law, though,
is being challenged in court. Texas A and M is
facing backlash for dei language that appears in some of
their Bush School of Government and Public Service courses. The
latest example of DEI at the school.
Speaker 33 (24:10):
Texas A and M University actually had a larger DEI
office than the University of Texas. If you can believe that,
the fact that we still see this shows you just
what a pervasive problem this is in the culture of
higher education.
Speaker 5 (24:21):
Brandon Waltons with Texas Scorecards, says state schools need more
legislative oversight. Now we reached out to A and M
about this, they didn't comment. Five point thirty five. It
is nearly August and Urkot has yet to issue any
conservation notices. Energy analyst Michael Julie says this is because
weatherization made the state grid stronger.
Speaker 34 (24:42):
Being sure that the generators and the transmission systems have
taken appropriate steps to prepare for hot weather and cold weather.
Speaker 5 (24:53):
The left is claiming that we haven't been asked to
conserve because of increased renewable production. Houston City Council I
didn't vote on the proposed three hundred and fourteen million
dollar Hurricane Beryl recovery package, but they did hear a
lot from the public.
Speaker 35 (25:08):
After Hurricane Harvey, the city's housing recovery efforts were marred
by mismanagement and delays, stumbling through red tape, and poor oversight.
Speaker 1 (25:16):
The vote is set for today.
Speaker 5 (25:17):
By the way, this is federal money we're talking about here,
which leads to other questions like what are they doing
getting involved?
Speaker 4 (25:23):
What red tape bureaucracy? Shocking that never happens.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
Meantime, some signs of normalcy. Jimmy are returning to the
Hill Country. After the July fourth flooding, the wall of.
Speaker 36 (25:34):
Water bashed into summer camps that straddle the Guadalupe River.
Kimber Malcolm, who runs hard of the Hills and Hans
says they could not reopen this year if they wanted to.
Speaker 37 (25:43):
Thankfully we were not in session, though we did have
a major loss.
Speaker 36 (25:46):
But other camps are more lucky. A handful have reopened,
and one is called Camp Camp. It serves children and
adults with disabilities, and much of their property is set
back from the river. Another that has reopened as Camp
Honeycreek for girls. While some buildings were damaged in the flood,
the cabins for kids survived. Michael Boord News Radio seven

Oh Okay. We see these stories all the time, but
this is maybe the most exhaustive story I've seen on
Boss is firing gen Z at alarming rates and their
complaint list is getting rather long the things they don't
like about gen Z. So, you know, for those who
are gen Zers, the few that may be listening, or
(27:11):
those who are parents more likely of gen Zers who
may be listening, here are some of the habits that
a lot of gen Z ers seem to have that
employers don't particularly care for Number one, gen Z does
not take the initiative. They're not self starters. They're not
I need you to do this, and they kind of
ham and hall and think about it or don't think
(27:34):
about it, and they're not really quick to act. Gen
Z wants mentorship. They want to be mentored, They want guidance.
They question everything, they want to know. Why do you
remember how annoying it was as a parent when your
kid was like three or four years old and they
(27:55):
always asked you why, why is the sky blue? Why
does the sun set? You know? Why? You know? All
these questions?
Speaker 1 (28:06):
You know?
Speaker 4 (28:06):
And they was why, why? Why? Why? In fact, I
bought my son Brian when he's a little a book
called The Book of Why. They answered all the questions
that he had about why all these things happen. Gen
Z wants frequent, meaningful feedback. Most bosses want to know
they've hired somebody who knows how to do their job.
(28:27):
And the only feedback you're likely to get is when
you really screw up. So at least in the world
that I grew up in, in the world I still
seem to operate in today. The only time I hear
from my boss is when I screw up most of
the time. The rest of the time, I assume I'm
doing fine. Gen Z cares about social values. Oh, this
is a big one. Gen Z workers deeply care about
(28:50):
things like climate change, racial equity, and ethical business practices,
and they expect your company to do the same thing.
A lot of managers don't want to talk politics on
the job. They don't necessarily care about your belief system
when it comes to this, but they don't want you
to put their belief system on their company. Gen Z
(29:12):
also seen as toxic some of you. Gen Z's demand
for change is disruptive. Disruptive in the workplace. Also listed,
gen Z understood not understood by many older co workers.
So that makes collaboration difficult because they just don't think
the same way as some of the older workers do.
Gen Z prioritizes balance over deadlines. They don't care when
(29:35):
the projects do. They're just interested in working. However many
hours they're supposed to work, see, they don't have. They
don't look at work. They look at work as a paycheck.
They don't look at work as a career. That's just
there's more. But that's some of the more obvious ones.
I guess five forty time for traffic and weather together.
Speaker 1 (29:52):
This little weirdo at Dollar General had its little mask on,
and all I did was say something about, hey, you know,
I have a feeling thing.
Speaker 4 (30:00):
Are about to get a little.

a seat at sixty eight hundred Cypress. What have you noticed?
I know the addresses, Terry, of all the trap courts.
I'm in the Generator Supercenter dot com traffics.
Speaker 4 (31:04):
You know you have a problem when the traffic judge
has a direct deposit the situation with you where they
can just go ahead and withdraw the money from your

Speaker 1 (31:11):
Yeah, they're just like Mike.
Speaker 4 (31:13):
Right from our KTRH Generator Supercenter twenty four our Weather Center,
Terry is here. Hot Weather's here too, But hey, it's
almost August. We got to expect this.
Speaker 23 (31:21):
Right, yeah, you know.
Speaker 24 (31:23):
And for as hot as it is, the temperatures have
actually been behaving overall, like we haven't had a lot
of record heat, and let's hope we can keep it
that way. But we do have some rain on the
way and that will help the cool things off a
little bit into the weekend. Today though no rain, mid
nineties to around one oh one for the afternoon Tomorrow
(31:45):
and Friday, we have a forty percent chance of showers
and storms, and temperatures for the most part will be
in the mid to upper nineties, but there'll be a
couple of places that get close to one hundred tomorrow
and Friday. That a fifty percent chance to those thunderstorms
Saturday and Sunday. And we're just a little bit cooler
in the load of mid nineties over the weekend.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
Yep at you're right now, still lady at your official

you need to know for the day ahead.
Speaker 3 (32:15):
This is Houston's Morning News, brought to you by New
South Windows Solutions.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
So, Senator we mentioned this yesterday Senator Josh Hawley after
the President said that maybe we should send rebate checks
to people. You know, we're making all this money from tariffs,
maybe we should just go ahead and send a tariff
rebate to people, you know, to help make up a
little bit for the cost of some goods and services
going up as a result of the tariffs. Grover Norquist,
(32:44):
who's president of the Americans for Tax Reform, doesn't think
it's a good idea. I don't think it's particularly good
idea either. We'll talk about Tim about why he thinks that.
Coming up next first, though, the stew traffic and weather
together as we check it again with guy Mike More.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Grover nor quest less me, just go right to the
North Freeway. It's on on on my big smunch right
now southbound eighteen wheeler and that is air attachs all right,
three lanes blocked here, big backups nineteen sixty on the way.
So let's reroute to the Hardys Toll Road and the
next thing that happens, you'll be the first to know.
I'm Skymike is sure Usarbresorts dot Com Traffic Center from

Speaker 1 (34:15):

Speaker 4 (34:20):
Bye fifty three. Our time here in Houston is born news.
So Senator Josh Holly introducing legislation to provide six hundred
dollars worth of tariff rebates to almost every American. They
never could go down if your joint income household income
is one hundred and fifty thousand dollars a year more.
But the checks would go to all Americans and to
their dependent children, which means a family of four could
(34:42):
get up to twenty four hundred dollars. Our next, I
guess doesn't think it's a good idea. I don't think
it's a particularly great idea either. Grover nor Quist is
with US President for Americans for tax reform. Why don't
you like this idea? Are they?
Speaker 1 (34:57):
Grover?
Speaker 4 (35:01):
Okay? He may want to call back because he doesn't
seem to be there. Robert, Oh, I'm here, I'm here.
Did you not off on me? You want to be
the first person to fall asleep on me?
Speaker 1 (35:15):
I'll sit here.
Speaker 40 (35:17):
Josh Holly's idea is not Josh Holly's idea. This is
an idea that the left has had for a long time.
Elizabeth Warren talks about it all the time. Why don't
we steal money from all the taxpayers and give it
to people and so they don't have to work. It's
been tried in various places, actually tested it out. And
(35:39):
if you give people free money, they don't show up
for work. And it is first of all, it's redistributing
money from people who earned it and giving it to
people who don't work.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
Is a very bad idea.
Speaker 40 (35:53):
Josh Holly is nominally a Republican, but he's a Republican
who hates right to work.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
He got elected support right to work that.
Speaker 39 (36:01):
He was against it.
Speaker 40 (36:02):
For some reason, has decided to move hard left. He
is a senator, a Republican from Missouri. But good news
is he's the only Republican in the world who is
this left wing.
Speaker 4 (36:14):
You know, I don't look at him as left wing.
I look at this more as because, after all, President
Trump himself made the suggestion I think be ultimately cynical
about this. I think that maybe they're looking at this
is a way too all right. See, this is how
we're changing your lives. Here's money. We're sending you back
(36:35):
some of your money, So keep voting for us.
Speaker 40 (36:40):
Except this is money that was taken from you because
tariffs raised the price of things you bought. So they're
not giving you money that you didn't have taken from you.
You're not pretending to help people out. It's the ethic
of welfare if you take money from people and then
(37:00):
you dribble it back, and it changes all of the
incentives that people have on work. Look, the President said,
the reason we have these tariffs is so we can
force better trade deals with other nations which has unfortunately
their own tariffs against our products, or have non tariff
barriers where they make it difficult to export an American agriculture
(37:26):
and other products. And he's had some success evidently with
Japan and with Europe. But that was the point of
the tariffs, was to threaten the tariffs in order to
get the better jills. Now is the time to say
thank you very much and then bring the terriffs down
to as close to zero as you can get, because
tariffs are taxes that Americans pay. People in France don't
(37:50):
pay tariffs when they sell a French product in the
United States. The American consumer pays the terraff to the
United States government. This is how the United States, back
before the income tax, we had tarriffs. That's how the
government raised us money. And tariffs were so hated that
the income tax was brought in to replace the traff.
(38:11):
We forget how much people didn't like the tariff. It
was a big part of the reason for the Civil
War was the North used tariffs to loose the Southern.
Speaker 4 (38:20):
Well, and if you're going to make a bunch of
money with tariffs, let's just put it towards the national debt.
God knows, we have thirty six trillion dollars worth of
national debt. Let's just pay some of that down.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
Huh, that would be good.
Speaker 40 (38:32):
Or cut taxes from everybody, other tax rates down, sure,
Or take the tariffs down and let people have lower prices.
Speaker 4 (38:41):
Okay, we're I think we're generally in agreement. Thank you, sir,
appreciate it Gruver Norquist, the President of Americans for Tax Reform.

Well again, good morning. It is six oh one. You're
in Houston's Morning News. I'm Jimmy Barrett. Among our top
stories this have are the turnover continues in the Harris
County DA's office. The DA is supposed to change all
that he didn't. The EPA is repealing a rule it
had on greenhouse gases. What does that mean for the
(39:27):
climate change crowd? And coming up at six oh eight,
the left hates Sydney Sweeney's racy ad because she's hot.
Details in the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's Morning News. First,
we're checking out that morning drive again with Skyline.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
Clear the North Freeway air tech side. It may be
good news that they cleared it so fast one and

Speaker 5 (40:34):
You, Jimmy six oh two on KTRH. Our top story
promise is made but unkept by Harris County's top cop.
Turnover Inside the DA's office, Sean Tier continues to be
a problem, even though he promised during the campaign last
year to fix it.
Speaker 17 (40:49):
Sean's gonna have to rebrand the DA's office. He's going
to have to bring public confidence back to DA's office,
and he's gonna have to do a good job getting
his folks out there recruiting on the word.
Speaker 5 (41:00):
Lawyer attorney Jared Woodfield there. We reached out to Tears
office about this. They didn't respond. Houston's Ice has announced
two hundred and fourteen arrest of illegal aliens in the
last six months convicted or charged with child sex offenses.
That's more than the number of the amount of people
arrested in all of fiscal year twenty twenty four.
Speaker 18 (41:20):
Bottom line is, if you're here illegally and you're trying
to attack our children, you're trying to sexually assault our children,
sexually abuse our children, local law enforcements coming after you.

Speaker 5 (43:06):
Meantime, another Democrat, Texas's Jasmine Crockett, is back in the

Speaker 41 (43:12):
So Dallas area Democrat is trying to block The Atlantic
from running a profile because the reporter asked other members
of Congress about her bombastic style of debate.
Speaker 1 (43:21):
As a new.
Speaker 41 (43:22):
Political analyst, cal Jilson says Crockett is not getting good advice.
Speaker 10 (43:26):
She should know that she can't shut down a profile
just because she doesn't like some of the questions that
are being asked.
Speaker 41 (43:32):
There have been other signs that Crockett is not well
liked on Capitol Hills. She failed to get the votes
to be the top Democrat on the powerful House Oversight Committee,
and last November she lost a bid to lead the
Democratic Policy and Communications Committee rex so It's news radio

Speaker 5 (43:49):
Democrat approval drops the thirty five year lows, but the
party continues pushing their failed narrative. Mark Meckler of Convention
of States says they've gone below rock bottom and there's
no way to dig themselves out of it.
Speaker 12 (44:01):
Every Democrat that's excited about anything that's going on in
the Democrat Party is a far leftist and so the
problem they have is if they move to the center,
they alienate a part of their base.
Speaker 4 (44:12):
That is enthusiastic right now.
Speaker 12 (44:13):
So they're really struggling to try to figure out how
do you straddle that line, and I don't think it's possible.

of the Democrat Party.
Speaker 20 (44:39):
That's political expert Dan Snell, who says, remember Ross Perot
in nineteen ninety two.
Speaker 13 (44:45):
Back in the Bill Clinton and George hw. Bush, Ross

that led the victory for Bill Clinton.

Google's being accused of manipulating what websites you go to

to their own websites like YouTube by using AI summaries.
Speaker 42 (45:12):
For about twenty years, Google was happy to be the
kicking off point of your search for information. Then they
turned around and decided they want you to stay on Google.
One way they do that now is through these AI summaries.
They try to present what you're looking for without having
you leave Googles.

I think we found sexy. Her name is Sidney Sweeney.
Have you've seen the Sydney Sweeney Great Genes ad for
American Eagle. It's got progressive, Uh, well, the progressive movement
out of sorts, especially progressive women. Here's what Vanity Fair
said in their article the label's latest advertising campaign. Referring
(46:22):
to American Eagle has been setting social networks of blaze,
and not just because it features an actor in a
tight tank top called Sidney Sweeney has great genes. It's
based around a play on words that may seem harmless,
but it has been criticized by onlookers who see a
sinister message lurking beneath the pun. One ad from the
autumn campaign shows Sweeney leaning over the engine of her
(46:43):
Ford Mustang. She slams the hood and wipes her hands
on the back of her jeans, now without a closeup
for the cameraman, before suddling behind the wheel and disappearing.
A second begins with Sweeney speaking about her genes as
the camera slowly pans down to her cleavage, before she
repomands with the smiling hey eyes up here. It goes
on from there. They hate it because they think it
(47:06):
sets the women's movement back because she's a hot chick,
and she's not ashamed of being a hot chick. In fact,
I think they're mad because she's young, she's hot, she's white,
and she's blonde. I mean, she's everything they hate right now,
and they're mad that corporations are finally waking up to
(47:27):
the idea that Americans are done with woke, We're done
with this whole thing. If she were three hundred pounds
in gender fluid, she'd be hailed as a revolutionary. But
she's not. She's every progressive woman's nightmare. Young, hot, white
and blonde. And guess what, I bet she's selling a

lot of jeans right now.

Speaker 4 (52:29):
Ktrh all, right good morning From we have some upholling
of data to share with. You democrats get their lowest
rating from voters in thirty five. Years Wall Street journal
says this new poll shows that sixty three percent of
voters have an unfavorable view of The democrat, Party the
highest share in journal polls dating back to nineteen ninety
(52:51):
and thirty, percent eight points higher than the thirty three
percent they hold a favorable. View and by the, way
those numbers are better than some other polls that we've.
SEEN Nbc newsepole back In march showed that just twenty
seven percent of voters had positive opinions about The Democrat
party twenty seven. Percent joining us to talk about it
Is Mark. Meckler He's president Of convention Of. STATES i
(53:14):
don't know how far back in history you'd have to
go to find polling numbers that low for any political.
Speaker 43 (53:20):
Party what do you, Think, Mark, YEAH i actually think
you have to go back before the beginning of actual
polling in The United states Of. America AND i, mean
the thing That i'm most curious about is where is
rock bottom for The. Democrats have been waiting for them
to find the, floor and it seems that every few
weeks they're.
Speaker 1 (53:37):
Imagining they're able to go.
Speaker 43 (53:38):
Lower they imagine things they can do that allow them
to be held in lower esteem by The american.
Speaker 4 (53:44):
People, well the party has been hijacked by the progressive.
LEFT i, mean there's no doubt about. That and it
doesn't appear that anybody else in The Democrat party is
putting up a fight. Anymore they're just letting this.
Speaker 43 (53:54):
Happen, YEAH i think it's very difficult for them to
put up a. Fight when you look at the dynamics
of The Democrat party right, now all of the enthusiasm
is on the radical left of the. Party so if
they were to attempt to tack to the, middle it
seems that the thing that would, happen at least, immediately
would be they would lose the enthusiasm and their radical
left and they would drop even lower in the.
Speaker 4 (54:16):
Polls, okay so there's no word for them to. Go
is that what you're? Saying how do you save The Democrat?
Party not THAT i care about saving The Democrat, party
but how do you go about trying to save it
if you're A? Democrat?
Speaker 43 (54:28):
YEAH i, MEAN i think this is really the interesting.
Question and having been involved in politics professionally for fifteen,
years since the days of The Tea, PARTY i feel
LIKE i can usually figure out a. Pass not That
i'm always, right BUT i have some ideas for This Democrat.
PARTY i really don't have. Ideas they're sort of in
a blind. ALLEY i think the only way out is
in the long, term they would have to decide that
(54:48):
they're going to tack to the. Middle that would mean
that their polling would go lower temporary and they would
likely get blown out in the mid. Terms over, time
they could recover the, middle but it's going to take
a couple of cycles for them to do.
Speaker 4 (55:00):
So you, KNOW i have to wonder, too there may
be a great experiment. Coming hopefully in an experiment that fails,
MISERABLY i would expect that it. Would if a Certain
democrat becomes mayor In New York, city then we'll have
our a true, socialist if not a socialist slash almost
communists mayor of the number one city in The United
(55:22):
states Of. America we still have major cities controlled By.
Democrats and the thing that THAT i guess has surprised
me the most is that they have been able to
keep control over these major. Cities.
Speaker 1 (55:37):
Yeah, LOOK i think that's the most interesting.
Speaker 43 (55:39):
Thing but they control the, media so they control the,
narrative and so people keep Voting. Democrat and also remember
a lot but hang.
Speaker 4 (55:46):
On hang, on the media is media's favorability rating isn't
any higher Than? Democrats how is it they're they're, controlling
controlling the. Narrative you.
Speaker 43 (55:55):
KNOW i think that's a really interesting. Question but people
still consume the. Media they can assume whether they LIKE
cnn OR msnbc or whatever the local leftist media. Is
they may not like, it but they still consume it
as their main. Media and when that's your diet of,
information that's what you believe and that's how you.
Speaker 4 (56:12):
Vote, okay but EVEN i think the networks are starting
to wake up a little. Bit do you do do
you see what is happening with some of the you,
know late night, Shows Stephen colbert for, example you, know
losing losing his. Job you see that as maybe if
the media company is starting to, switch starting to understand,
that you, know taking a political tact with, everything especially
(56:35):
from the from from a far left point of, view
is not a good way to go when you're trying
to make.
Speaker 43 (56:39):
Money, YEAH i think we're at the very beginning of that.
CYCLE i know people are, celebrating AND i am. TOO
i think it's great That colbert got. CANCELED i think
that's good for the, Country but there is still a
very entrenched leftist elite in the media broadly. Speaking SO
i think. Again they can tact in the, middle but
that's going to be a slow. Process even when they do,
it the question is can they gained that middle ground.
Speaker 19 (57:01):
Audience.
Speaker 4 (57:01):
Yeah, well by that point in, time the people they
used to consider their you, know their their main, base you,
know the working men and women Of, america they've they've
all Become. Republicans so unless The Republican party goes back
to being the party of the, RICH i don't see
that happening to.
Speaker 43 (57:16):
You, NO i don't see that happening anytime. Soon so
what we're seeing is a tectonic shift in the politics
of the country fact to some sort of, realism and
that realism is represented by the right In america right.
Speaker 4 (57:28):
Now we also see this in the.
Speaker 43 (57:29):
Polling something we haven't talked about yet is young people
and especially young, men have completely flipped and they are
now in large numbers supporting The Republican. Party the future
looks much more. Conservative and, that's by the, way not
just In. America this is happening all over the. World.
Speaker 4 (57:44):
Yeah, cyclical it always is. Cyclical, Mark thank, You Mark,

when The democrats effectively choose the, speaker and so the
question is what deals have been cut with the speaker
in order to allow him to continue to maintain that.
Post but, ULTIMATELY i Think Governor abbot's going to keep
calling him back and we're going to get redistricting.
Speaker 4 (01:34:05):
Done, okay let's ask you a little bit now about
The Shawn tier. Situation you, know a lot of people
make campaign promises that they can't keep or maybe have
no intention of. Keeping in the case of the DA's,
office the attrition. CONTINUES i, mean let's face, it they
don't make as much working for the DA's office as
they would in the private, sector mainly because these are you,
(01:34:25):
know young people coming right out of law. School so
once they get some experience under their, belt they move
on to something. Else is the only way to solve
the problem with the DA's office is to provide raises
for these people or more.
Speaker 1 (01:34:37):
Money, WELL i think you had two problems That Shawn
tier walked.
Speaker 49 (01:34:42):
Into first of, all you've got a DA's office Under
Kim ogg that had been highly, politicized going after conservative
activists who had written articles that were positive to, conservatives
individuals who had stirred against stood for voter. Integrity so
he's having to deal with that when he came in
those particular.
Speaker 4 (01:34:59):
Cases hang, on do you Think sean tear is any
less political Than Kim ogg?
Speaker 43 (01:35:03):
Was you, KNOW i haven't seen.
Speaker 49 (01:35:06):
Him they'll go after his political, opponents like Doctor Steve.
Hosey that particular, case he looked at it and he,
said she overcharged it dropped the. Case you look At Aubrey,
taylor another conservative. Journalist he looked at that case they
had prosecuted him and, said, hey we're going to have
to drop this.
Speaker 1 (01:35:20):
Case it's been.
Speaker 49 (01:35:21):
Overcharged SO i do see some good movement in that.
Area and so but, SECONDLY i think a bigger problem
is what you described is what they're getting. Paid so
where you're finding a lot of the shortfalls right now
or in the misdemeanor. Courts and so the misdemeanor courts
of the lower courts and not the district courts WHICH
i deal with. Felonies they're mostly county courts at.
Speaker 23 (01:35:42):
Law and so what you need to do is you
need to go into those law.
Speaker 49 (01:35:45):
Schools you need to tout what experience that individual can
get by being in those misdemeanor, courts because what all
these young lawyers are looking for is trial. Experience right,
now they go get out of law, school they want
to get in the court. Room they want to have
that trial experience.
Speaker 1 (01:35:57):
Market, themselves and a lot of them will.
Speaker 49 (01:35:59):
Leave they'll go to be criminal defense, lawyers or they'll
go to be big civil law firms and make a
whole lot more. Money so that's traditionally been a problem
with the DA's, office is keeping good, talent because once
an individual gives that, experience they're much more marketable and
have a lot more opportunities to available to.
Speaker 4 (01:36:15):
Them, okay good hear from, you. Sir take. Care Jared,

Now The Animal Welfare organization has filed a lawsuit against
the Main lobster festival in the city Of, Rockland, maine
an attempt to stop the steaming of more than twenty
thousand live lobsters at their event this. Week they have
a lot of people show. Up, wow twenty thousand. Lobsters
(01:44:37):
that is the traditional method of cooking a. Lobster you
put a live lobster in a pot and you steam
it and it takes maybe a couple of, minutes two
or three minutes for the lobster to actually. Die but
that's the part That peter says they. Have of, Course
peter has a problem with you eating anything that is an. Animal.
(01:45:00):
Period they at the very, least, though say that there
should be a more humane. Way they need you need
to stun the lobster or you, know or instantly kill
it before you steam, it because they claim that there's
a study out that says that lobsters can feel. Pain
now there's only one study that claims that lobsters can feel.
(01:45:22):
Pain most scientists don't think that they, can and therefore
the lobster is not feeling. ANYTHING i look, at you,
