Good morning, five am. As we get started this morning
here on Houston's Morning News, I'm Jimmy Barrett on our
top stories this half hour. Are we about to be
reimbursed for Operation lone Star? Why did Republicans do so
poorly in local school board licens? And coming up at
five to eight, when will the tariff related shortages begin?
Details in the minutes ahead. You're in Houston's Morning News. First,
(00:40):
we're checking out that morning dress problem. What's that's gonna mine?
Speaker 4 (00:42):
I don't know. It's a long story. I'll get to
it at the ten.
Speaker 5 (00:45):
I'm seeing some stuff on my Papeel's pocket radar here
as far as looks like showers to the northwest. So
you know, if you don't watch out, get a nice
early start, turn that snooze off, you might end up
with some stupid problems. To forty nine, I'll take a

right now sixty nine at your official severe weather station,
News Radio seven forty k TRH. It is time now
for the news. Here's Cliff Saunders, Thank you.
Speaker 6 (01:35):
Jimmy, and good morning everybody, five o one on KGRH.
Our top story.
Speaker 7 (01:40):
When the Biden administration did not secure our border, Texas
filled the gap.
Speaker 6 (01:44):
DHS secretary in Congress talking about what Texas had to
deal with during the Biden disaster at the border. The
state wants to be reimbursed to the tune of eleven
billion dollars. Noam told Congress yesterday that the White House
is quote working on it. A mixed day on the
legal front for the administration. As a federal judge appointed
by President Trump refused to change her order requiring the
(02:08):
administration to bring back a twenty year old Venezuelan deported
to Al Salvador, but the US Supreme Court gave the
White House a big win.
Speaker 8 (02:17):
The divided Supreme Court will allow the Trump administration to
enforce a ban on transgender military service while legal challenges proceed.
The majority of justices will allow the band to be enforced.
As appeals courts considered the case, the court's three liberals,
Justices Kagan, Sodamayor, and Jackson, would have kept a policy
on hold.
Speaker 6 (02:36):
Jared Halpern reporting, now there is a bill in the
House that could lead to impeaching these activist federal judges.
But how Speaker Mike Johnson listened to him. He doesn't
seem like he's on board with this.
Speaker 9 (02:47):
We've had fifteen federal judges in peace in the entire
history of the country. I mean, there may be some
that I feel mere at that, but you got to
get the votes for it, right, and it's a very
high burden, and frankly, the bar is high crimes and misdemeanors.
Speaker 6 (02:59):
Johnson adding that if an impeachment got through the House,
it might not get through the Senate. Senate majority of
Leader John Thune wants to speed up the process of
getting Trump's big, beautiful build onto his desk. This is
a piece of legislation that has broad by Paris and support.
Tune is afraid that Democrats will try to slow this
down with their proposed changes. So Trump isn't just trying
(03:21):
to deal with Democrats. Sean Fleetwood at the Federalist says,
he's also got red state rhinos that are slowing him down.
Speaker 10 (03:28):
We have the swamp in Washington, d C. But we
also have fifty swamps across the country and state capitals.
And that's completely true when you just look at these
numerous examples that I listed in the article of the
so called red states just repeatedly fighting the priorities of
their voters.
Speaker 6 (03:42):
And here in Texas, Democrat backed House Republicans like former
Speaker Date Feelin have blocked conservative backed legislation. In Austin, Texas,
House Speaker Dustin Burroughs reportedly fires policy director Jimmy Skipton. Apparently,
Skipton directed committee chairs to kill several bills, claiming it
was under orders from Burrows, allegedly though he was doing
(04:04):
it to benefit his wife, who's a liberal lobbyist five
h four on k TRH. Despite the media's freak out
over President Trump's first few months, voters are with them for.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
The long haul.
Speaker 7 (04:17):
The left and the legacy media have been trying to
drive the narrative that President Trump's support is crumbling due
to the chaos of his policies, But as CNN recently
found out, Trump voters have no regrets.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
Yes, I would. If you go back in time, would
you vote for Donald Trump? Yes or no? Yes?
Speaker 1 (04:32):
If you add to it all over again, would you
vote for Donald sooth?
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Yes or not?
Speaker 11 (04:35):
One percent?
Speaker 7 (04:39):
A Fox newspanel of Trump voters found the same thing,
with all of them saying they still support him and
that he needs more time to implement his agenda. Corey Jolson,
who's Radio seven forty k TRH.
Speaker 6 (04:49):
That agenda includes tariffs, and those tariffs are already helping
small and mid sized US manufacturers get new business. Jean
Whalen with The Wall Street Journal says they spoke to
several manufacturers.
Speaker 11 (05:01):
They were all saying that they've seen some new interests,
some new orders, and that a lot of that is
coming from other industrial companies in the US wanting to
force things domestically so they don't have to pay import care.
Speaker 6 (05:14):
She says these businesses are cautiously optimistic. Trump met with
new Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney yesterday. He rejected becoming
our fifty first state and said Canada wasn't for sale.
The President's response, never say never, Never say never, Trump
adding he's hoping to get a trade deal done with
the Canadians. Markets did like the news that the US
(05:36):
and China will hold trade talks in Geneva this weekend.
Futures are up two hundred and twenty eight points on
the Dow this morning, five to ZHO five. Trump is
literally daring California Governor Gavin Newsom to run for president
in twenty twenty eight, saying he'd lose because of the
botched wildfire response. The Dems are so desperate though, they
(05:56):
could actually run Kamala Harris again.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
This is such great news. Is like Christmas in May.
Speaker 12 (06:02):
But if Kamala Harris is going to run for president again,
she's got to get past some pretty big Democrat heavyweights
in the primary, including JB.
Speaker 6 (06:09):
Pritzker, AOC former Trump advisor Jason Miller. Closer to home,
Saturday's elections were a disappointment for local Republicans who lost
school board races in districts like Katie and Fork Bend.
Speaker 13 (06:22):
One of the biggest reasons for this was low conservative
turnout after twenty twenty four.
Speaker 14 (06:26):
Each time you.
Speaker 15 (06:27):
Have success Conservatives and Republicans now they're ready to get
on with the rest of their life, to get back
to work.
Speaker 13 (06:34):
And do things for Ben County GOP Chairman Bobby Everly
says this is a perfect example of how there's no
political offseason.
Speaker 15 (06:40):
The Democrats will never go away, no matter how many
wins we have. The Democrats are always looking to come back,
and they're always going to have candidates.
Speaker 13 (06:49):
He says, Conservatives need to learn from this and get
better at showing up for down ballot candidates. Ethan Buchanan

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Bye on wait our time here on Houston's morning News.
So here come the stories. Expect to see some more
of these stories and we'll see if it happens and
at what level it happens. I'm not saying that we
might not see short supplies of some items. We know
that we have one hundred and forty five percent teriff
right now on Chinese goods. Reports are that Chinese ships
(07:41):
are arriving with the first items that are under the tariff,
and that the ships are half full. They're not shipping
as much goods as they did before the tariffs, so
there may be some things coming from China that will
be in shorter supply. The question is what kind of
demand would there be for the men Anyway, here's the
(08:01):
story in the Mirror, a publication called The Mirror that
claims that the Donald Trump trade tariffs so you see
who they're placing this on, likely to start impacting shelves.
Experts have warned Americans, many of whom are currently stockpiling goods,
could be coming sooner than you think. America's shop floors
could soon look a lot emptier with heftier price tags.
(08:23):
Despite Trump shrugging off a looming recession. Who says there's
a looming recession the laught, But I haven't heard anybody
else say there's one that's coming. Goods for shoppers as
supply chain disruptions triggered by the ongoing trade war begin
to hit home. In a detailed breakdown post to X,
(08:45):
this so called expert said the suspension of Chinese trade
around April tenth largely due to new tariffs pushed by
the Trump administration, about to create a serious ripple effect
across America's retail and logistics sectors. According to this gentleman,
it's almost like we're speeding towards a brick wall, but
the driver of the car doesn't see it yet. Hundred
and forty five percent tariff on Chinese goods some categories
(09:07):
taxes high as two hundred and forty five percent. Well,
the tariffs are officially levied on the importers. The added
cost is typically passed on to US consumers in the
form of higher prices. That's the other part of this. Yeah,
one hundred and forty five percent tariff on Chinese goods
for right now, but we don't know how much of
that retailers will actually pass along, doubtful that they will
(09:28):
pass along all one hundred and forty five percent. According
to this same person quoted in the story, takes about
thirty to fifty five days for shipments from China to
reach American ports, depending on the destination. So with trade
effectively halted April the tenth, that means key cities will
start feeling the effect around May tenth. This is May eighth,
(09:49):
so anywhere between now in the next two weeks. So
we'll observe together, right, we'll see if we start seeing
shortages on the shelves and what we start seeing shortages of,
or or if you see a big tick up in
the price of something. Five ten time for traffic and
weather together, is we check in the sky.
Speaker 5 (10:06):
Mike, there's gonna be a quiz in the middle of
my soliloquy here, I have the stupidest problems. First of all,
started with my coffee, put it on my pants, made
a ring on my pants.
Speaker 4 (10:15):
Fortunately I carry windex in the truck. Okay, Houston has stupid.
Speaker 5 (10:19):
Problems, just like me. Guess I'm gonna let Terry guests first. Terry,
what do you think happened to the Houston Avenue Bridge
over the KDIE Freeway.
Speaker 4 (10:31):
They caught fire.
Speaker 5 (10:32):
Oh that's a good guess, Jimmy, would you like to
take a guess? What happened to the Houston Avenue Bridge
over the KD Freeway. Why do they have it closed?
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Some sort of a traffic accident. A crash, truck crash,
really close crash. A truck was too tall. This happens
three weeks in Houston.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
I think I'm the winner. Yeah, I ever go another
truck hits the bridge?
Speaker 16 (10:54):
You do?
Speaker 4 (10:54):
So you are.
Speaker 5 (10:55):
Houston Avenue Bridge is closed again because of a too
tall truck.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
It's no big thing. That's not ship bridge short.
Speaker 5 (11:02):
Well, no, the trucks are too tall, terry, and they
don't know how tall they are.
Speaker 4 (11:06):

Speaker 17 (11:48):
Today it kind of looks a little bit, better like
not as much rain and not as big a concern
about those strong. Storms watching the showers and thunderstorms though
along the coast this, morning and it looks like some
of that's going to be making its way up into

the metro this. Morning may dampen some of the roads
during the rush, hour especially the closer to the coast you.
Are it looks like the bulk of the rain is
going to be closer to the coast today rather than
on the north side Of houston like. Yesterday that's where
we had some rough weather. Yesterday forty percent chance of

will be taking these manufacturing? Jobs gen ze ers are

Marco is this he's showing Any can you see his butt?
Crack no you. Can't, okay you can't see his butt. Crack,
well that's not authentic if you can't see his butt.
Cracked all, right we need more people to participate in
the skilled labor. Market younger people are getting involved. Now
we have fewer you, know young people going off to,
(16:32):
college and some of them are going into trade. Schools
that's a good, thing But Mike row, says we're still
going to have a shortage if we don't figure this
thing out. Here he, is first of, all every day
is skilled labor, day or at least it should. Be, secondly,
yeah you can see it in virtually every, number but
the numbers are. Confusing you, know you've got at this,
POINT i think at seven point six million open, jobs
(16:54):
most of them don't require four year degree and the.
Feeling AND i was at that energy conference With Governor
perry a couple of weeks, ago and he's so. Right
this is at the absolute top of mind EVERY ceo
who is there, talking whether IT'S ai or data, centers
that all trickles down to skilled. Labor Gen z got
the memo in some, way shape or, form and you
(17:17):
can see. It the four year degrees are trending down
in that cohort and there's a lot more interest in
electricians and plumbers and steam fitters and welders and pipe
fitters and the stuff my foundation has been focused on
for sixteen.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Years so, Yes.
Speaker 20 (17:32):
Governor perry pointed, out when we build these data, centers
so massive, investment we need.
Speaker 21 (17:36):
Skill willess there's need and there's criticality like we've always needed,
them and people understand you don't want to wait, three
four or five days for an electrician or. Plumber but
what The governor's talking, about and people really are likening
this to a modern Day Manhattan. Project you've got the
maritime industrial base trying to high one hundred and forty
thousand trades people right, now eighty thousand openings in. Automotive
(17:59):
you just go down the. List and this is the
thing that worries me. Too i'm rooting for the president
with the, offshoring the, reshoring the reinvigoration of. Manufacturing but
we got four hundred and eighty two thousand open jobs
in manufacturing right. Now so you create one point five,
million two million new, jobs you've got to come back to.
Speaker 4 (18:18):
Workforce but you've got.
Speaker 18 (18:19):
Seven million men in their prime who am not working.
Speaker 21 (18:23):
Right so if you really want to peel that, back
his name Is Nick. Everstadt he's an economist and he
wrote a book Called Men Without. Work he would love
to sit here and crunch the data with. You but,
that to me is one of the greatest alarm bells
going on in the. Country we've never seen that, before
not in peacetime. Anyway so these are able bodied men
(18:44):
in their working ages not only not, working but not.
Speaker 3 (18:49):
Looking, yeah not only not, working not looking not. Interested
and that's a phenomenon THAT i have a hard time.
Grasping is it the lack of the work ethic that
most of us were brought up?
Speaker 22 (19:02):
With is? It?
Speaker 3 (19:06):
Yeah if we made it just way too comfortable for
people to not work in other, words you can make
enough money off of social social programs and assistance in
order to be able to make your ends meet doing
a lot of these men still living with their, parents
and their parents, aren't you, know kicking them out the
door telling them to go get a. Job it's probably
(19:27):
a combination of all those. Things five twenty. Seven time

Is why president. Trump elevated ours he's. Got their attention

here's the headline, elizabeth, if you're listening honey left handed
people more common. In certain mental disorders according, To, a
major study yep you, may be left handed but that
(46:04):
doesn't mean you're. In your right mind.
Speaker 15 (46:08):
It is.
Speaker 3 (46:09):
The minority of people about ten percent of. People are
left handed and my wife was brought up in an
age and maybe if, you are left handed you. Were the,
same way in fact this might make a great Question
OF the day before i get to the, question, of
the day though let. Me do the story, but but
you know there's a lot of things they did in
school to try to steer kids away. From being left
(46:31):
handed there was a time where left. Handedness was done
embraced they would try to force you to write right
handed and to do, all sorts, of things. YOU know
right handed i think they didn't do it as a
form of. INTENTIONALLY trying to discriminate i think they did, it,
because they thought well scissors are made, for right handed
people so we're just going to save a whole, lot
of you know a lot of problems later on in
(46:53):
life if you just learned how to. Do things right
handed but, according to this study. Left handed and mixed
they call. Them mixed handed people we used. To call
that ambidexters do they not? Call it that anymore left
handed to mixhanded people appear significantly more often in certain
mental and neural developmental disorders, like autism and schizophrenia with
mixed handedness. Showing the strongest association so you're more likely
(47:16):
to potentially have autism or schizophrenia. If you are ambidextrous
three factors predict higher, rates of, unusual handedness neurodevelopmental conditions,
disorders with early onset and conditions. That affect language function
not all mental health. Conditions show this, pattern depression, uh
(47:37):
pedophilia for example showed no significant differences, whether you're, right
handed left handed Or what you, were just those, things
those two. Things autism, And schizophrenia interestingly enough but here's
my question today for all of. Our left handed listeners
has life been more difficult for you? As a left
hander did they try to steer you away from being
(48:00):
left handed in school? IF you played sports i would
hope they didn't because left handed pitchers are. Hard to,
come by but. Anyway the question today you go to THE,
iHeartRadio app kt rh put us on the preseted number
one please that'll get you. There nice and fast hit

Next pope begins today in rome six twenty Three hour Time.
Here in houston's morning news joining Us To, talk about
Doctor Shannon Holzer. Professor at houston christian University, Even If.
You're not, catholic doctor, holzer the, pomp the circumstance the
ceremony the traditions Involved in what happens in Rome. In
(54:22):
choosing the next pope it's, a fascinating thing? To watch.
Speaker 21 (54:25):
Is it not.
Speaker 42 (54:27):
It is it's very mysterious because once they Get locked.
In to the sistine travel they don't nobody. Knows what
goes on, inside they're sworn to secrecy and if any
one of them tells anybody else, about what goes on,
inside if, there's a leak per se. That cardinal will
be excommunicated.
Speaker 33 (54:47):
And so you just have.
Speaker 42 (54:48):
No idea what's going on so it's a whole bunch
of SPECULATION as, to how they i mean we, know
some things, about it, how they vote you. Know the
order of things. But, it's a big mystery.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
Yeah how did the tradition beget the whole? Black, SMOKE
white smoke thing.
Speaker 42 (55:06):
Well i can tell you that there was a time
in the thirteenth century when they went three years without
a pope and the people got really upset and they locked,
the cardinals in the church and then they forced them
to make a decision because they were so mad that
they took the roof off the building and they would only,
(55:28):
feed them bread, and water and they said you, better
get us a pope or we're not.
Speaker 4 (55:32):
Going to let you out and.
Speaker 42 (55:34):
So that's where they, get the whole word conclave from
which means. With keys or locked in and so you
get this sense that they the people are, making them
make a decision and. So that's what actually happens they
get locked in, this room.
Speaker 22 (55:53):
From the outside.
Speaker 42 (55:55):
And it's a surreal experience from, what the cardinals. Have
expressed those doors flocked they realize.
Speaker 22 (56:02):
The gravity, of the situation we better we better.
Speaker 3 (56:05):
COME up with the pope i had no idea it
was based on a real life event that that that,
that's what led to that and that they've taken that
and they've turned that into part of the ceremony. Of
picking the next pope what kind of what kind of
decision process do you think these? Cardinals are, going to
make you, know you, always wonder about, you know whether
or not for, lack of a better term whether or
not the next pope is going? To be a, dei
(56:27):
higher in other words? Are we going to pick are
they going to pick somebody from a country they's? Never
had a pope before are they going to pick somebody
of color because they haven't? Had somebody of color before
what are some of the considerations they go into how
they're going to decide who.
Speaker 4 (56:40):
The, next, pope should be oh.
Speaker 42 (56:42):
Yeah, that's that's a. Great question because you're, right if, they,
let's say they say hey Let's. Get, a guy from
africa UH and they want to, dei, higher and they
go Hey.
Speaker 22 (56:52):
Let's get.
Speaker 42 (56:52):
This guy surrah he's black he'd be a great, edition
because we you. Know, we're made can progress well the
problem with that is the people who who would say
that they have a Problem with those guys from africa
because those cardinals are way more conservative in their theology.
And approach to social issues they reject the notion, of
(57:14):
the same sex, marriage they reject climate change they reject
this idea of synodism where that there's this in interreligious
Dialogue going on between. The christians and other religions so,
they don't like those guys so they, would, like the
idea of say making the pope. For their social justice
(57:37):
reasons the problem is is those guys don't stand on
the same side of the fence as. They do in
that area There's, a guy from the philippines so, that
is highly like that and he's very to theologically and
politically and socially to the left that. They may be
interested in so you'll find that the more progressive. Cardinals
(58:01):
may vote that way but again it needs two thirds
of a majority. To Win that guy's vote so it's.
Speaker 3 (58:09):
Going to be fascinating to see how long this process
takes because there's politics in the church. Like THERE is
everywhere else and i guess We'll Know which way the
catholic church will be leaning Once we know who the.
Pope Is, going to be doctor holzer thank. You for

Ask doctor Bobby EVERLEE he's. A. Fort ben county gop chair,
voter turnout. Counts for a Lot, doesn't it oh sure

For having, me on.
Speaker 22 (01:33:23):
This morning appreciate it.
Speaker 4 (01:33:24):
You Bet so.
Speaker 3 (01:33:28):
Why is it that democrats are better to get people
to turn out to vote in these types. Of elections
evidently than conservatives are?
Speaker 22 (01:33:35):
What? DO you make, OF that yeah i think yeah i.
Speaker 15 (01:33:37):
Think there's a number of issues one of them is
as Clearly as, We, Saw in the november elections republicans
conservatives were motivated and they came.
Speaker 4 (01:33:46):
Out and you saw the, results but.
Speaker 22 (01:33:49):
Here's the thing is like we always have to.
Speaker 15 (01:33:52):
Stay ready for the next election there's. Always An election
around the corner and republicans like to, just go, on
with their, lives, you know they, like to hey we,
won this now let's you, know take care of, our kids,
let's pay the rent let's work and they're. Not looking Toward,
the next election where the, democrats whether, it's city council
(01:34:13):
races you know, municipal races or school board races anything
they can, do to get into the government they're. Always
looking and they're Always motivated and that's something that. Republicans
Really Need, to, work on and fort benning though we
did have some issues of some personal issues that Helped
to take out. THE incumbent, republican that we had i,
(01:34:36):
mean these Are non partisan races but the, republican.
Speaker 22 (01:34:39):
We had in that race.
Speaker 15 (01:34:41):
And that really really hurt Us rather, than rallying around
the republican incumbent we had a faction that split the,
vote and that hurt both. Races there's no doubt about
it so we've got some. Work To do on that
end but conservatives in general, need, to be able to
rally focus mobilized in these elections. That Don't, have a
(01:35:05):
major turnout in katie the margin was exactly what it
was last year when the conservative slate kind of went down.
To the liberal slate.
Speaker 33 (01:35:17):
Sixty Forty We saw, that again.
Speaker 15 (01:35:19):
In victor perez's race sixty, forty so in these small
turnouts we have to be able to tell people that,
what's at stake your, kids' future boys and, girls' restrooms
born in, the schools that's what's at Stake and this
is what the liberals ran.
Speaker 4 (01:35:37):
On and actually, won on.
Speaker 3 (01:35:38):
It, and, THAT'S amazing that's amazing yes yeah i think
it's One of those cases where and i'm not, quite
sure what the disconnect, is but if you're a conservative
and even if you're a sixty five year old conservative,
and your kids are long gone not, in the public
school system anymore you're still, PAYING through the nose school
taxes i would think you would want to you've going
(01:36:00):
to have a say and, what goes on in those schools.
That's YOUR tax dollars being spent and i don't know
that we've done a good enough job of letting people
know exactly. How important these local elections are the results,
of local elections dictate your life sometimes a whole.
Speaker 16 (01:36:16):
Lot.
Speaker 4 (01:36:16):
More than national elections.
Speaker 22 (01:36:17):
Do, exactly, YOU bring it back.
Speaker 15 (01:36:20):
Home right i mean your taxes this is where the
local government is either influencing your children or, fixing potholes, or, whatever,
it is other roads structures infrastructure and so you need
to be vigilant and, when look at those tax dollars see,
how you want them to spend and see what kind
of policies you want that affect. Your kids' day, to
(01:36:41):
day lives and You, know the vast majority of americans
poll after poll do not support boys in. Girls' restrooms
or porn in schools and yet these. People were able
to be elected so we've got to be. Able to
put the word out one of, the problems is, is
that obviously in partisan elections the party we did a
great job with. Messaging with getting out the vote we
(01:37:05):
don't do that in. The municipal and school board elections
that's up, to the candidates since it's nonpartisan and they
really need to be able to put that campaign.
Speaker 4 (01:37:16):
Together and drive, out that, vote, there you go all right.

Do after the last four years We're gonna. Have To
reverse what biden did president trump's. THE exact person to
do it i. Think he's going to do it it's
going to take a, little bit of time because frankly
there's so, Much. Devastation that's, occurred in housing maria you know.
Inflation just ravaged the, housing market people couldn't. Afford homes
people couldn't Afford Rent and so, thank god president trump
was elected And We're focused Every Day at fanny may
and freddie mack on making sure that we Can get
(01:52:18):
mortgages and get The. American dream back for all? Americans
so what did you do you.
Speaker 6 (01:52:21):
Tried, to clean out the place.
Speaker 50 (01:52:23):
Well we got rid of, a bunch of different board
members and we basically ARE Exerting The authority that the
us federal. Housing has and has always had it's, always
been essentially, the board.
Speaker 4 (01:52:31):
Chair the board itself the stockholders and really what we're
trying to do. Is run these things.
Speaker 50 (01:52:36):
As, Businesses what a novel idea right instead of running
it like a bureaucrat, Or An academic or a, professor
president trump hired a businessman, And. We're running them like
businesses maria they're. Safer and sounder than ever before. We've got,
a GREAT balance sheet you know our ltv is around
fifty percent loan. To value on our balance sheet we
Have Four. Point four trillion at fanny. May so things
(01:52:56):
are very. Good they will, be very stable we're very,
careful but at the same time were making sure that
these are assets that are Used for.
Speaker 33 (01:53:01):
The benefit of the american people so.
Speaker 4 (01:53:03):
How does it work because.
Speaker 41 (01:53:04):
These are also publicly traded STOCKS explain to investors.
Speaker 33 (01:53:08):
How the us government is overseeing this.
Speaker 22 (01:53:11):
And.
Speaker 4 (01:53:11):
Yet they still trade publicly.
Speaker 50 (01:53:12):
Yeah so the companies basically went into essentially, bankruptcy in two,
thousand and eight as everybody. Knows and THEY went into
Conservatorship And, so i served through president trump as the
regulator as well as the conservator and so. You have
these two Different hats it's quite unique what. Congress has
created in, This, position but my main focus maria Is,
on Creating Value and helping Trump helping president trump. Restore
(01:53:34):
The american dream for everyone, president trump can do it
alone but What We're trying To Do at fanny may and,
freddie mack is really add support especially. On THE financing
and mortgage Side And i feel very confident president trump's going.
To turn around the housing market but the last four
years in this Housing. Market, HAVE been devastating for, americans.
Speaker 3 (01:53:49):
YEAH i agree with them though i think it's just
a matter, Of time once those interest rates once we
