Anything going on out there, Skyma so far.

Speaker 5 (00:44):
They've just cleared something off the north Sam that was
Green's Point and eastbound accident's out of the way. Backup's gone,
so let's clear the board, reset the jackpot on the
North Sam and south Luke. Let me zoom in on
that eastbound stall. It's right there at two eighty eight.
Not much going on there. We look good coming in
over from Green's Point, from Green's Point, from Meyerland over

(01:06):

Pip is off today. Eric Sharp is in for him.

Speaker 5 (01:35):
Good morning.

Speaker 6 (01:36):
It is five oh one on news radio seven forty KTRH,
our top story this hour. Charlie Kirk's widow, Eric has
spoken loving memory of her late husband at the memorial
for him in Phoenix, Arizona, Sunday, But perhaps her hardest
words were those of forgiveness for the man in Utah
and a Utah jail accused of killing her husband father.

Speaker 7 (01:56):
Forgive them for they not know what they do. That man,
that young man, I forgive him.

Speaker 5 (02:09):
She said.

Speaker 6 (02:09):
Forgiveness is what Charlie would do. Twenty two year old
Tyler Robinson's accused of killing the Turning Point USA founder
September tenth following the assassination of Charlie Kirk, many of
those on the far left spoke out not just against
Kirk and his message, but in favor of his killer.
As is true, that may be costing some of them supports.

Speaker 8 (02:29):
Social media is now filled with former leftists saying they're
leaving the movement.

Speaker 7 (02:33):
There are so many on the left who support assassinations.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Just because you don't.

Speaker 7 (02:37):
Agree with somebody, I personally cannot associate myself.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Would you left anymore?

Speaker 9 (02:41):
Bayhar County's upach R.

Speaker 8 (02:42):
Kyle Sinclair says, you can expect this to continue as
long as the left promotes murder.

Speaker 10 (02:47):
The majority of society knows that assassinating somebody in cold
blood and murder and public is not the right thing.

Speaker 8 (02:55):
He says he does expect this trend to continue simply
because the most vocal leftists are the radicals. Ethan Buchanan
News Radio seven forty KRH.

Speaker 6 (03:03):
Cancel culture against conservatives has gone on for years, but
since the suspicion of excuse me, suspension of Jimmy Kimmel,
the left is now complaining about it. Author Blaine Pardeaux,
who has canceled himself, says it's just tough love.

Speaker 11 (03:18):
Their whole thing was, you're not being cancelled. This is
just a consequence of your actions. Okay, fine, Now we're
going to hold you.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
To a standard.

Speaker 11 (03:25):
And they don't like that, and I think it's the
only way they're going to understand that what they did
was wrong.

Speaker 6 (03:32):
And it's why he says, we can't or we can
expect more cancelations in the near future. Congress failing to
pass a resolution to avoid a government shut down by
September thirtieth, then both parties put forward their own proposals.
On Fox's Sunday Night in America, House Budget Committee Chair
Texas Congressman Jody Errington, criticizing Democrats proposed spending increases for

(03:53):
Medicaid and healthcare spending.

Speaker 12 (03:56):
They're very desperate because nothing sticking. I say this as
a political haymaker. That will result in a Schoomer shut down.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Two point zero.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
Democrats warn that's allowing the Affordable Care Act tax credits
to expire will drive up health insurance premiums. Republicans bill
will fund the government until November twenty first, which House
Speaker Mike Johnson says gives lawmakers enough time to draft
a more complete budget. Congress still in a stillemate once again,
with a government shutdown looming September thirtieth.

Speaker 13 (04:27):
This stopgap temporary funding has gone on for thirty years now.

Speaker 14 (04:31):
The irony of all this if you go back to
when Speaker McCarthy was in the House, he got thrown
out because you said we would stop doing crs and
he did another cr.

Speaker 13 (04:41):
Nick Ballacy of just the News says another continuing resolution
as likely, and this continued kicking of the can only
makes spending worse.

Speaker 14 (04:49):
Because they're not getting down to the nitty gritty and
going through all these federal programs and figuring out where
there can maybe be some savings.

Speaker 13 (04:57):
He says this trend will continue based on their record.
Londre Parard News Radio seven k t RH.

Speaker 6 (05:03):
Governor greg Aabbt has been on a signing spree, putting
his signature on bills that were passed during a second
special session both The one that remains pending is the
so called bathroom Bill, authored by State Senator at Mays Middleton.

Speaker 15 (05:16):
It draws a very clear line women and girls should
never be forced to give up their privacy to men
that are pretending to be women.

Speaker 6 (05:26):
The bill requires government owned buildings like schools to separate
bathrooms and locker rooms by biological sex, and also banned
transgender women from accessing domestic violence shelters. Questions to the
governor's office about the delay have gone unanswered. A youth
baseball tournament in Katie turned chaotic Sunday when gunfire erupted

(05:48):
at the Rack Complex. A twenty seven year old coach
was hit in the shoulder by a ricocheted bullet flown
to the hospital where he's expected to recover. Deputy's questioned
three people, but so far have not made any arrests.

Speaker 5 (06:00):
The Texans will remain winless through Week three.

Speaker 6 (06:03):

thirty eight passes for two hundred and four yards, one
touchdown and two interceptions in the loss. The Texans will
host the Tennessee Titans this coming Sunday the Astros.

Speaker 5 (06:19):
They got swept by the Mariners.

Speaker 6 (06:20):
After the seven to three loss on Sunday, Houston now
three games back for first in the al Wes six
games left in the regular season. Team heads to sacer
Medo tomorrow night to face the A's I'm Merrick Sharp
on Houston's News, weather and traffic station News Radio seven
forty kt RH.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
Houston's Morning News continues with Jimmy Barrett.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
Five host seven ar time here on the Houston's Morning News.
One of the bombshells that came out of the Charlie
Kirk memorial, or potential bombshell he should say, because we
don't know for sure yet what he's gonna say. But
and by the way, we'll have a lot of audio
to share this morning from the Charlie Kirk Memorial yesterday.
One part memorial service, one party with revival. I can't
think of a better way to describe it than it

(07:03):
was a revival, a religious revival. And I don't know
about you. I couldn't. I couldn't turn away from it.
I couldn't stop watching it. You know, Sunday I usually
watch a lot of football. I didn't watch a lick.
I watched the memorial service. Think that it lasted five
six hours. Never tuned away once. So yeah, we have

(07:23):
some audio share coming up. But first, one of the
things that the president, because the President spoke last one
of the things he said. I really wasn't expected to
hear as much politics in his speech as I did.
But okay, as he said that they're going to be
announcing today today being moundany that is, administration has identified

(07:44):
what it believes to be one of the root causes
of autism. So the question is what will be announced
today and what will be the impact of what he
is going to announce. Supposedly, at least the Washington Posters
were reporting that the Department of Health and Human Services
plans to link the consumption of tylenol or any other

(08:08):
product that carries acetamenaphin over the counterpain medication during pregnancy
to the onset of autism and to recommend that it
only be used for tackling high fevers. Post also reporting
that the Health in Human Services Department believes that low
levels of folate, which is a vitamin essential for the
development of a baby's brain and spine, are also a

(08:30):
contributing cause behind autism and will recommend the cancer and
there's a certain cancer drug called the corvorine or pholinic acid,
is a means of addressing its symptoms, So it could
be that there are multiple. Here's what we know. The
amount of cases of autism in the last two decades

(08:53):
are through the roof. It went from something like one
in I don't know how many thousse to one out
of twelve, one out of twelve, So there has to
be a It makes sense that there would be some
sort of drug involved. There's some sort of innovation over

(09:14):
the course last twenty thirty years that could have caused
something like this to happen. Is this it? There's plenty
of medical people who are going to stand up and
say no, it's not. But can you can you imagine
the lawsuits for the people who manufacture tailand all or
any other product of the seed of menafin That that

(09:35):
alone is going to be amazing to watch. So we'll
see if that's what the announcement turns out to be.
Joining these these things leak out, so that probably what
it is, but we'll see five ten time for traffic
and whether together.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
You don't think there's a chance that maybe we've always
had a lot of autism and just now are starting
to discover how much there is.

Speaker 4 (09:52):
That's part of it.

Speaker 5 (09:53):
I'm sure I'm not seeing a doctor. I don't say
that lightly, but you know, I've always wondered, let's close
the golf freeway. This is nothing good happening here. This
is forty five south at Tiki Island, and boy, this
is a real wreck here. This is one, two, three,
four five vehicles here. All main lanes are shut down southbound.

(10:13):
We're not gonna be able to get to Galveston this morning.
This has been here since two thirty so maybe an
hour maybe so. But this is a complete shutdown. And
I'm hearing that this is a fatal accident. I don't
know how many, but a lot of vehicles here, a
lot of stuff to clear up. And again your golf
freeway totally shut down before the causeway at Tiki Island.

(10:35):
So we're going to be watching that all morning northbound.
If you're coming up from Lamark, you're good to go.
Texas City nicely moving and from League City just thirty
one minutes. This is inbound Skymichael the USA Rbresorts dot
Com traffic center from KTRH tomp tax Atender's twenty four
hour wether Center.

Speaker 4 (10:53):
Terry Smith is here. She's got the forecast fors We
have a gabrielvet's going nowhere.

Speaker 16 (10:57):
Yeah, hanging out there in the Atlantic making its way
northward and going to avoid all land masses. Bermuda was
a little concerned, and it's going to be close to Bermuda,
but it looks like it'll pass far enough off to
the east that it won't be a big problem, though
it will certainly kick up the surf and cause some

(11:19):
rip current issues. Gabrielle hurricane with ninety mile an hour winds.
There's another little disturbance we're watching that's just to the
east of the Windward Leeward Islands. That one's going to
go a little bit further west and likely past some
of these island changed, So we'll see what happens with it.
Right now, there's only like a thirty percent chance that

(11:40):
it might come. It becomes something like a tropical depression
or storm, so we'll keep an eye on that. We're
also going to be keeping an eye on the radar
because we have some rain, and we have it for
the next several days, mainly in the afternoon forty percent
chance of showers and thunderstorms later today, temperatures up eight
east to low nineties. Fifty percent chance of getting what

(12:03):
tomorrow's sixty percent chance on Wednesday. Still dealing with some
marine Thursday before we'd write out Friday.

Speaker 4 (12:26):
The Charlie Kirk memorial service was moving, very tearworthy. There
were some laughs. I mean, it was everything I guess
you would hope a memorial service would be, and then
some One of the funniest moments at least in my
mind from the Charlie Kirk Memorial yesterday and one of

(12:47):
the saddest moments all all in one. Fell Swoop. Will
cover both of those coming up next, first, though, traffic
and weather together as we check out the drive with Skymike.

Speaker 5 (12:56):
All right, looks like I'm going to be talking about
this for a while. This is I forty five. You
can't get to Galveston this morning. They've shut down the
golf freeway at Tiki Island and it's a pretty blurry
shot here, but there's five vehicles involved here, at least
one fatal. And this is all southbound. Now you could
get off the island. You just can't get on for
right now, I'll write y'all have some excuses here back

(13:17):
up now from the mark northbound. We're actually just find
Texas City up into downtown. No problem here on forty five,
rest of your freeways. Rocking Skymike in the USA RV
Resorts dot Com traffic center.

any the entrier, Trump cabinet was there, Charles Pastor was
their friends, co workers at Turning Point, us WA. The
list just went on and on and on. But I
think I've isolated maybe the most funny, at least in

(15:08):
my mind, one of the funnier moments. And there are
always good memorial always has a few funny moments. To me,
this was the funniest moment. It came from Donald Trump Junior.

Speaker 19 (15:18):
I'm not widely known for being a sentimental guy. Anyone
who's seen me on social media knows I'm far more
likely to crack a joke or get myself in trouble
for posting some grossly inappropriate.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Memes than i am to shed a tear.

Speaker 19 (15:34):
I know this because I've even gotten the call from
that guy a couple of times. You know, done, done,
You're getting a little aggressive and social media done.

Speaker 4 (15:47):
Relax.

Speaker 19 (15:49):
To say Charlie knew more about the Bible than me
is an understatement, folks. It's like saying Donald Trump knows
more about being president than Hillary Clinton.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
You're Kamala Harris, no kidding.

Speaker 4 (16:11):
I love the impression. I thought he did a very
good impression. We'll save the status moment that. We'll save
that for the next half hour. You probably, I'm sure
you've heard that Charlie Kirk's widow, Erica forgave him the
killer on stage. That was woof. That was quite the

(16:35):
moving moment. We'll share that with you in our next
half hour five twenty six. Right now, time to take
a look at your money as we check him with
Jeff Bellingcher.

Speaker 20 (16:41):
Good morning, Good Morning to You, Jimmy Key, inflation reading
and the speech by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell are
among the things investors are waiting for this week. Economists
think the inflation gauge favored by the Fed east some
last month that couldn't give policymakers some breathing room to
deal with a softening market. Powell will speak tomorrow in

(17:02):
Rhode Island, and several other Fed officials will be heard
from this week. Modest advances sent all three of the
major stock averages to record high closes on Friday. The
games range from four tenths percent to seven tenths percent,
and it was a good weekend for Apple. A lot
of stores around the world reported strong demand for new
iPhones on Friday, and the trend continued into Saturday. Bloomberg's

(17:25):
Mark German says the new iPhone seventeen lineup focuses on
what consumers care about most battery life, durability, camera power,
and colors, and the market for the phones promotes actual features.

It's time now for the news. Here's Eric Sharp, Good.

Speaker 6 (19:24):
Morning, five thirty one on news Radio seven forty KTRH.
Our top story this hour, the Trump administration believes it
may have the root cause of autism. Fox's Ashley Stromaier
has a preview of that announcement.

Speaker 22 (19:36):
The Trump administration is expected to make a major announcement
about autism in the coming hours. The Washington Post reports
federal health officials will link pregnant women's use of tail
and all to the condition. Potential treatments for the developmental
disorder will also be discussed. A spokesperson for the maker
of Thailand all Though, says there's no evidence linking the
medication to autism.

Speaker 6 (19:59):
Health and Newman ser Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior, established
a task force this year in an effort to find
the causes of autism. The Taliban has rejected President Trump's
push to reclaim Magram Air Base, four years after the
US withdrew left the facility in their hands. A Taliban
spokesperson says that the Afghan independent and territorial integrity remains

(20:21):
non negotiable, urging Washington to act with realism and rationality.
The rejection comes as Trump has floated the idea of
returning US forces while continuing to criticize the Biden administration
over the twenty twenty one pull out. Members of the
Trump administration continuing to advocate for stricter naturalization tests for
those seeking American citizenship are doing it for the right

(20:44):
reasons rather than just to get the benefits.

Speaker 23 (20:47):
We want to make sure that one hundred percent of
the people that raise their hand and say that rather linkedy,
are people who want to live in this country, who
want to contribute to this country, who want to make
sure that we have another two hundred and fifty years.

Speaker 6 (21:00):
Former immigration judge Andrew Arthur says that this would restore
the value of American citizenship and should have been done
years ago. The head of ICE is sharing new details
about a brutal crime by an illegal alien right here
in Texas.

Speaker 24 (21:15):
ICE Acting director Todd Lyons tells Brent Bart News the
recent arrest of a Cuban national who beheaded another man
in Dallas shows the type of criminals agents are dealing with.

Speaker 25 (21:24):
He got in an argument, which is a foremost hell owner.
He headed him in front of his family.

Speaker 5 (21:29):
Kicks his head around like a soccer ball, and then
threw it in the dumpster. So the guys should never
been on the street.

Speaker 4 (21:34):
He says.

Speaker 24 (21:34):
The Trump administration is ending the catch and release policies
that allowed this, and that criminals are now being held
until they're to ported. Coriolson, Who's Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 6 (21:43):
At Sunday's memorial for Charlie Kirk, hundreds of thousands turned
outs at a stadium in the Phoenix area. Many thousand
more crowded and overflow venue. Speakers praised Charlie's faith and dedication,
but it took President Trump to point out Charlie's commitment
to free speech.

Speaker 26 (21:59):
At campus event, Charlie asked the people who disagreed with
him to come forward, and instead of silencing them, he
handed them a microphone and let them speak.

Speaker 6 (22:10):
Charlie Kirk assassinated September tenth at a Utah college. President
Trump remembered that many prayed for a miracle when Charlie
was shot. But the miracle is here, the President said,
with millions remembering him and his work all over the world.
Texas has become one of the country's hotspots for data centers,
which are fueling a boom and artificial intelligence research. Business

(22:31):
leaders say that it's exactly the time for the state's economy.

Speaker 27 (22:34):
We're adding more jobs than any other state, and now
that we've ventured the age of AI, we're going to
even hit another gear.

Speaker 6 (22:42):
Glenn Hammer, who heads the Texas Association of Business, credits
business friendly regulations, available land, and cheap electricity. A study
done by the global real estate firm CBRE shows that
data center construction from San Antonio to Austin more than
quadruples in the first half of last year. Workers taking
mental health leave is up three hundred percent over the

(23:04):
last six years, and it's starting to make it look
like the American work ethic could be dying.

Speaker 5 (23:09):
The big question now is why.

Speaker 28 (23:11):
They've had way too much screen time, way too much
internet time, and so their feel set socially and how
to deal with stress, how to deal with frustration, how
to deal with anger, deal with spring frightened, all of
that is surely lacking.

Speaker 6 (23:23):
Relationship trainer at Julie Nie says that this is also
a side effect of the fact that we've raised two
generations now of very entitled employees who simply haven't been
taught work ethic. US Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says that
NASA is at a crossroads, So how did we fall behind?

Speaker 29 (23:42):
Keith Cowing is a space expert with NASA.

Speaker 30 (23:46):
Watch NASA's got all this stuff that does, but the
core soul, the thing that drives it, seems to be lacking.

Speaker 29 (23:53):
But now under President Trump, NASA is looking to refocus
and beat China.

Speaker 30 (24:00):
Have a clear goal in mind, and they have watched
how Russia and Japan and Europe and America have done things,
and they picked the best of and they've learned from.

Speaker 29 (24:07):
That, and that is why Trump wants to make NASA
great again. Jeff Biggs, News Radio seven forty KTCH.

Speaker 6 (24:16):
The Astros in danger of not making it to the postseason.
Stros were swept by the Mariners in their finale home
stand over the weekend, seven to three on Sunday. Houston's
now three games behind Seattle for first place in the
Al West and they have just six games left. They're
in Sacramento to take on the As Tuesday night. I'm
Eric Sharp on Houston's news, weather and traffic station, News
Radio seven forty KTRH.

Speaker 1 (24:39):
The free set that sets the record street.

Speaker 5 (24:43):
This just made my whole day more efficient.

Speaker 1 (24:44):
One News Radio seven JTRH.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
Five thirty seven. Our time here in Houston, this morning news.

Speaker 5 (24:51):
Right.

Speaker 4 (24:51):
Starbucks being sued by their employees over their dress code. Really,
what's the best about the dress code? They say that
their new dress code forced them to shell out their
own money for clothes, and they want the money back
in Starbucks so far as saying no. Baristas in Illinois

(25:15):
and Colorado, of course, have filed class action lawsuits claiming
that Starbucks violated state laws by failing to reimburse them
for the new clothes required under the updated dress code.
Those states have laws that require companies, private companies, commercial
companies from require them to reimburse employees for clothing costs. Really, oh,

(25:37):
in California they have it there too. Evidently workers want
to step further and submitded complaints of the state's Labor
and Workforce Development Agency, like using the company of the
same thing. All right, So what is this dress code
that's so expensive and onerous? Starting May twelve, several months ago, obviously,
workers in all North American stores were required to follow

(25:58):
a stricter set of a hire rules. Here are the
new rules that started in May. Solid black crew necks
or collared shirts or button ups. That's three different kinds
of shirts only rules. It's got to be solid black
paired with khaki, black or blue denim bottoms. Okay, Who

(26:19):
among them did not have a pair of jeans? Who
among them did not have a pair of either black
or or khaki colored khakis? Who I mean in that
standard attire most closets didn't everybody have that? And by
the way, Starbucks gave each employee two black shirts, so

(26:43):
they didn't even have to go out and buy the shirts.
They just had to have the right pair of pants. Also,
shoes had to be I muted tones like black, gray, brown,
navy tan, or white. Same thing. Who doesn't have either
a black, gray, brown, navy tan, or white pair of shoes?
Who doesn't? Nobody. They also banned the theatrical makeup in

(27:06):
nail polish, which means you couldn't go over the top
and look like a clown, and limited facial piercings to
one small stud or hoop. Maybe that's where they hit
the bigger problem. Yeah, you can't tell me how many
piercings I can fill in my face? Evidently mean they're
trying to They're trying to clean up their look, is

(27:28):
what they're trying to do. Starbucks said the shift was
meant to simplify the expectations, make the coffee house field
more consistent, and give workers and clearer guidance on what
they could and could not wear. Doesn't sound on Earth
to me. Five forty time for traffic and weather together.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Make us look like normal people.

Speaker 4 (27:45):
We don't want to be normal, sky Mine, you're.

Speaker 1 (27:47):

get across the causeway now. They reopened the freeway Tiki Island.
Nothing good was happening there, and that was way late
last night. I think it dropped at twelve thirty. So

(28:11):
it's out of the way here. League City up. We're
looking good now on the northbound. That's just twenty nine
minutes if you're coming up from five to eighteen Ship
Channel Bridge. I didn't think this was gonna be any
big deal. Started as a small hubub on the six
to ten Ship Channel Bridge southbound. Now it's a full
whoah coming down from Clinton and you're trying to get
to Golf Gate. Let's skip over. You could do the

(28:31):

you can't tell anybody go to Wayside. Just go downtown

showing up now.

Speaker 16 (29:14):
We got some rain chances, and we've got some cooler
weather eventually, like fall may actually make its way into
Southeast Texas for a little bit later this week.

Speaker 9 (29:25):
That'll be quite exciting.

Speaker 16 (29:27):
Yeah, it's gonna be in and out of the rain
the next couple of days, and then a better chance
of rain Wednesday when the cold front makes its way
into Southeast Texas. Today, forty percent chance of showers and storms.

Speaker 9 (29:39):
I think the bulk of that will be in the afternoon.

Speaker 16 (29:42):
We may get a few of those coastal showers this morning,
but the bulk of the rain later today. Upper eighties
to low nineties. Tomorrow a fifty percent chance of showers
and thunderstorms Wednesday, we have a sixty percent chance of
getting wet. Temperatures tomorrow Wednesday uper eighties to low nineties.

Speaker 9 (29:59):
But then Thursday we're cooler.

Speaker 16 (30:01):
We still have some rain of forty percent chance of
some showers and thunderstorms Thursday, but temperatures mid top eighties.

Speaker 9 (30:08):
And Friday there's no rain.

Speaker 16 (30:10):
And right now it looks like temperatures will be in
the mid top eighties like fall.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
Devil looks like the left is on the side of
cancel culture right, now five fifty three is our time
here In Houston's Morning. NEWSTON i think our next guest
maybe thinks they've got to come, in But i'll ask.
Him Blaine pardo wrote an article about this For American.
Thinker do you think it feels like they're coming for the?
Left do you think they deserve? It, Blaine, YEAH i.

(32:39):
DO i went through cancelation. MYSELF i wrote for science
fiction series for thirty six years and got canceled by
a crazy nut job who was a forty year old
guy who was pretending to be a. Lesbian online led the, effort.

Speaker 11 (32:54):
And, HONESTLY i think this is the only way the
left is going to learn that this is a bad
thing is to actually subject them to. It and we've
seen it now time and time. Again they don't like
it when it's turned against, them but they have literally
put thousands of creators and celebrities out of work and

(33:17):
for the last ten, years and it doesn't seem to
feze them at all until you turn it against. Them so,
YES i do believe the time has.

Speaker 4 (33:26):
Come do you think That Jimmy kimmels maybe a sign
of where we're headed with all? This well that In Cracker.
Barrel it's, interesting you, Know Cracker barrell tried to change
all that. Stuff the conservative right let them know they
didn't like, it they backed down from. IT i think
their sales are still way down as a result of,
that so they're not being easily forgiven for what they.

Speaker 11 (33:44):
DID i think what's happened for the first time in
a long time is With President trump being in, office
a lot of conservatives are actually standing up and fighting.
Back and if that means some of the left have
to be canceled in.

Speaker 5 (34:00):
The, process well so be.

Speaker 11 (34:02):
It because you, KNOW i had to do some soul
searching on this, myself and you, know going through cancelations
hard because it never fully goes. Away there isn't a
week it goes by somebody hasn't called me a fascist
or A nazi or some sort of.

Speaker 5 (34:16):
Phobe but in the.

Speaker 11 (34:18):
End it's the only way they're going to understand. This
it's almost like mutually assured. Destruction you know. That, look
you know you don't do this because we can do
it back to.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
You, well it'll be interesting to see if, that if that,
works because we're not really, seeing at least so, far Blame.
Pardo we're not really seeing the left back down on.
This Certainly Jimmy kimmel's not backing down from his, cancelation
and in his, CASE i THINK Abc disney was just
looking for an. Excuse their stock has been on the
tank ever since they went. Woke they've got affiliates who

(34:51):
are in a revolt over What Jimmy kimmel had said
About Charlie, kirk and if you take a look at
his ratings over the last ten, years they've gone steadily.

Speaker 5 (34:58):
DOWN i, AGREE i don't think.

Speaker 11 (35:02):
THIS i think this was an excuse to Take jimmy,
out and if that's what it, takes then so be.
It but he did cross the line and they have
all crossed the. Line if you watch the view on
any given, day they're crossing the line multiple, times and
there needs to be some repercussions for them if they

(35:22):
don't understand. That you, know it's going to take a
while for them to fully comprehend what the culture. Is
but there's been a seismic, shift and it started In,
WASHINGTON dc With, trump who's literally fighting back for the
first Time i've seen in my lifetime for a conservative
to do against The.

Speaker 5 (35:42):
Democrat.

Speaker 4 (35:42):
Yeah, no you're. Right conservatives have always been very bad
about finding. Back we're finally getting a little better at. It,

Ktrh, so what kind of did you sleep at? Night
do you HAVE i get king, size queen size. DOUBLE i,
mean there's two of, you, Right if there's two of,
you we've always had a. King we've always had a.
King we LIKE i like WE i can to stretch
out at. NIGHT i got really long, arms AND i

(43:04):
take up some space in the, bed. Okay and and
when it's time to, sleep it's, hey it's time to.
Sleep AND i don't know about your significant, other but
my wife is a little. Furnace she radiates heat like nobody's.
Business you get up next to her and, whoo, man
you're be sweating with the sheets. Off, man especially in the.

(43:27):
Summertime she's just like a little furnace over. THERE i
don't know how she doesn't boil herself right out of.
Bed but according To matthew, McConaughey he has a marriage.
Tip he, said get rid of the king size bed
op for a queen, instead so you're closer to your.
Spouse he, SAID i woke up one. Morning i'm looking over,

(43:47):
there And camello is like a football field.

Speaker 5 (43:49):
Away.

Speaker 4 (43:49):
Man then you go to bed at night like you
want to snuggle, up and, well we've got to cover you.
Up come about twelve. Feet i'll come about twelve. Feet you're, like,
man this is damn king size. Bed it's not good
for the. Marriage get rid of. That sob so we
got a queen size where we're shoulder to. Shoulder i'm
telling you it's good for your. Marriage sleep closer, together he,

(44:11):
says is good for. Intimacy, uh, WELL i don't. Know
maybe there's something to. It, ANYWAY i have a question
of to day today AND i don't know about, you
BUT i found myself mesmerized by The Charlie kirk. MEMORIAL
i MEAN i just kind of planned to kind of
tune in a couple of times see who was, speaking you,

(44:33):
know just SO i would know about what was going
on for the. SHOW i found myself watching the entire
thing start to, finish, pregame the memorial service, itself the whole,
thing AND i couldn't tune. Away and it WAS i,
think one part memorial, service two parts Re. Bible AND

(44:53):
i think anecdotally, ANYWAY i feel like there's been some
sort of a shift for a lot of people who
were not necessarily church goers or occasional church. Goers AND
i can only do, this you, know. Antecdotally driving past,
day there's A Baptist church not far from the house
that we drive past all the time On sunday, morning

(45:15):
going wherever it is we're, going and usually the parking
lots of quarter maybe a half. Full that thing was,
packed absolutely packed to the. Raptors SO i have a
funny feeling that church attendance has gone way up as
a result of what happened To Charlie. Kirk people are
talking about religion the way they haven't talked about it
in a long long time and are not afraid to

(45:37):
talk about. It it's pretty. Amazing so my question of
today is did you watch The Charlie kirk memorial and
how did it affect? You you go to The iHeart
radio APP, ktrh you hit the talkback, button you got
the thirty, seconds first name where you're calling. From did
you watch The Charlie kirk memorial? Service and how did
it affect? You time for traffic and weather, together we're checking.

You also has An I'm. Gabrielle if nothing, else it's
our only our Second atlantic hurricane of the. SEASON i
know that's, amazing isn't it?

Speaker 16 (46:59):
Is because it's BEEN i think since nineteen ninety four
that we've only had two hurricanes at this point in the,
season you, know the peak of the hurricane season where
typically is more, active runs from Mid august Through, september
and so that we've only had two hurricanes at all
shows that this year's a little quieter at least so.

Speaker 9 (47:22):
Far so we'll keep an eye on.

Speaker 16 (47:25):
That there's another wave out there as well that's worth,
watching especially because it's a little bit further to the,
west closer to some of those, islands and closer to
the southeast coast Than gabriel is at the. Moment so
here we're seeing it increase in our chances of, rain
and we may actually get a little bit of fall
like fall temperatures later in the, Week so some. CHANGES

a forty percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, today a
fifty percent chance of getting wet, tomorrow.

Speaker 4 (50:38):
Six twenty three hour. Time here In Houston's Born, News
Kyle sinclair joins Us Bear COUNTY gop vice chair to
talk About democrats fleeing the.

Speaker 5 (50:46):
Party do we do we have a? Field?

Speaker 4 (50:47):
KYLE i, mean first of, all we'll be seeing it
here In.

Speaker 5 (50:49):
Texas d. Thing, YEAH i MEAN i do think we're
seeing In.

Speaker 32 (50:53):
TEXAS i think the reality is LOOK i mean At
Charlie kirk's ceremony, YESTERDAY msnbs see In Jasmine crockett From
texas went on and said that we are at, war
and the commentators on there also talked about picking up.
Arms That retrick of doubling down on these issues is
what's causing by droves people leaving The Democratic, party and

(51:17):
at a national level they are getting close to single
digit approval. Ratings so absolutely see it In texas and
that's Why trump won it by thirteen percent in twenty twenty.

Speaker 4 (51:28):
Four where are they going? To where are these Disenfranchised
democrats going? To are they coming to The Republican party
or are they just becoming? Independent, YEAH i mean my.

Speaker 5 (51:37):
OPINION i see a little bit of. Both.

Speaker 32 (51:38):
Right you, Know President trump did massive job on Moving
democrats that you, know voted for him independs that voted
for him to get that thirteen, percent and he's going
to have about two years ish to you, know continue that.
Momentum AND i think with The Charlie kirk and his turning,
point there's a lot of people that are seeing what
The Democratic party is doing and saying and and. So,

(52:01):
YEAH i do see, that AND i think As republicans And,
conservatives we've got to open them up with open. Armor
we've got to take them in with open arms and
be the party of acceptance without.

Speaker 4 (52:12):
Compromise, okay well That i'm curious to explore that a
little bit further because here's WHAT i see as a
potential downside to welcoming former liberals into The Republican party
is that they have an influence on making The Republican
party more. MODERATE i feel like we have plenty of
rhinos here In. Texas do we need?

Speaker 5 (52:30):
More? Yeah absolutely. Not the quick answer to that is.

Speaker 32 (52:34):
Not AND i don't think liberalism or people that are
going the extreme of the extreme, leftists, liberals and. Socialism
they're not going to. Change it doesn't matter what is.
Said they're the ones that are driving the force on
The Democratic. Party they've got no, voice they've got no,
leadership so they turned to the extreme. Left SO i
don't see extreme left liberalism and socialists coming over to the.

(52:55):
PARTY i, mean it's unfortunate this country is set up
on two parties being able to move this country. Ahead
and unfortunately you really only have one, party The Republican,
party which is the party of common sense and conservative
values that Put america. First so you, know we're going
to struggle for a little bit in this, country and
it's not great to have just one party. Either so

(53:16):
we need the counterbalance to your point of getting rhinos
out and making sure that we hold them, accountable.

Speaker 4 (53:22):
And maybe we get a new third.

Speaker 32 (53:24):
Party what do you, Think, YEAH i, MEAN i, MEAN
i don't, know you, KNOW i think we've got to
fix what's going. On the one hundred and Eighteen Section
session OF Us congress was the least effective IN us
history history since The United states was. Created the one
hundred and eighteen session passed the least amount of, bills
and so we have a major divide up at the federal,

(53:46):
level and you've seen it boil downs because all politics are.
Local so we've got to fix some of these common
issues where that. Is that's a very tough. ONE i,
mean some of this is year are so polarizing that
you can't compromise on values of mutile children of a
lomboys and sports of. YOU i can go down the
list of all this. Stuff you can't compromise on that.
Stuff so if they can't get their act, together they

(54:08):
will destroy that party and they will cease to exist
in this.

Speaker 4 (54:11):

Speaker 4 (01:20:58):
Is, winner Anyway yeah winter. Solstice right wrong maybe we
need to. Work on this maybe we need to change the, beginning, of,
spring summer. Fall and winter there's actually a story online
about this that we saw where a guy's claiming that
fall actually started quite. A while ago he says the seasons.

(01:21:20):
Are all wrong he's proposing we redate. All four seasons
here's the breakdown of what he. Wants to do spring
would start as soon as daylight, saving kicks in which
in twenty twenty Six will be, March The eighth so
march the eighth. Would mean spring, in other words you're
getting that extra sunlight at the end, of the day

(01:21:40):
regardless of how, cold it is especially in some parts.
OF the, country i mean it's still winter, weather up
north but it won't be, winter weather here, Not likely
anyway so why not have spring kick in as soon
as we switch to? Daylight saving time, in his world
Summer would start june first And stop on, august thirty

(01:22:02):
first because mostly because the you know kids rouse, school
the whole or do we want to start then start
with the, kids rail school and then we should shorten.
Up a bit at least in most parts, of the
country summer doesn't. Last That long once september, hits its
fall even if it's still, ninety five degrees FOOTBALL, is

(01:22:23):
on tv kids are, Back in school so why not
Start fall on september the first instead of waiting for
summer to end later. In the month and then winter
Would Begin on black friday because you've already, got you
know radio stations Playing all, the christmas music and probably
they probably have Been, Since before thanksgiving so winter would

(01:22:46):
begin The day after thanksgiving and. Then wouldn't end fall
would Not end until december, the twenty, second you Know right.
Before Christmas time so christmas would kind of ucher in the. Whole,
winter thing, Anyway Under stars black Friday goes through christmas
time and into or so winter ends up being the
longest in this guy's. Scheme of things winter ends up being,

(01:23:08):
the longest thing longer than certainly a lot longer than
fall seven ten time for traffic. And weather, Together that's.

their phone On Watching the. Charlie kirk memorial this was
something that transcended even What the average american Does on.

were all Home Watching the. Charlie, kirk memorial well.

Speaker 33 (01:29:25):
There were a lot. Of people watching it had a
lot of people. Reporting into me it's amazing what happened
with a. YOUNG man that i don't know if people
understood how much Of An effect charlie kirk had on
a certain segment. OF this, POPULATION i mean i think
that's the Reason that doctor trump won in twenty twenty

(01:29:45):
four was the young men Coming From the democrat Party To.
The republican party and the guy that was responsible for
a lot Of That.

Speaker 4 (01:29:52):
Was charlie kirk no. Doubt about him so do you
think there's a lasting. Impact from this it feels like
there is. A lasting impact, but then, again who, knows
you know two, months from now six, months from now
it might be. A different story but it sure feels
right now like this is going to have it's going
to have some legs to.

Speaker 33 (01:30:07):
At this movement there are, some, things that yes just
naturally do have legs to them that will last for.
A long time i believe this is. ONE of them
i believe that there are people who have been woken
up that weren't particularly paying. Attention TO politics so i
think this is going to last a lot longer. THAN
folks think i don't have. My crystal ball you. Just

(01:30:27):
said it. It just depends politics, is a. Weird weird
mistress it might. Last a month at my, last two
years at my. LAST six months i just feel like
this is a lot Different than anything.

Speaker 5 (01:30:38):

Speaker 33 (01:31:01):
The, Past oh absolutely our church was passed The, last
two sundays which is. Fantastic to see, You're right though
and there's THE thing that i noticed yesterday that really stuck.
Out To Me the democrat party on x is freaking out,
over the fireworks, over the production over what they looked

(01:31:23):
at as as more of a campaign rally than actually a.
Remembrance of debt so when the left, is freaking out
you know you're.

Speaker 5 (01:31:32):
Over the target, that's a.

Speaker 4 (01:31:34):
Fact, All right listen i'm just one OF those people
i guess who takes A look like i want to.
BE an optimist i really do give me something very
optimist could take away from What Happened. To charlie kirk
