Speaker 1 (00:00):
That was big in the nineties, and it may make
a return here in the twenty twenty five year. Let's
see what happens seven twenty two. Here in Houston's Morning News,
Harry Casianas joins US national security expert president of the
Rogue States Projects. It's Trump says this do or die
time and negotiating with the Iranians. I don't know that
you can trust anything coming out of the mouth of

(00:22):
the Iranian hierarchy. But what do you think happens here?
And who do you think if anybody has the leverage
in any kind of a negotiation over a nuclear power
in nuclear weapons.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Look, I think we're kind of at the tipping point here.
I mean, the Iranians have been building a nuclear program
for decades. At some point they're going to hit the
capacity to build a nuclear weapon within a matter of
days now, I mean, wouldn't I mean, you know, this
is technology that's been out since night then the early
nineteen forties, So it's no shocker that a lot of
countries could have the potential to build these weapons. I
think now Trump does have the leverage, though, I regardless

(00:54):
of what happened with Iran, I mean, their currencies plominating,
their economies crashing, They're losing the aillity to fund all
these different terror organizations like Hamas has blow.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
So many others.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
So now the Irianians have to come to a decision
point do they want to risk the you know, the
ability for the regime to survive if they have no
function economy but have a nuclear weapon. And that's really
the choice that they're being put into now. I think
as we look out though in the weeks and months
to head, the Iriians are going to play a classic tool.
They're going to try install the negotiations for as long

(01:25):
as they can, try to wear Trump out sort of
what the Russians that think are trying to do, and
see if basically they can get to the very edge
of having a nuclear weapon but maybe not step off
that and hope that the Americans will be able to tolerate it.

Speaker 3 (01:37):
So we're going to find out in a couple of weeks
where this goes.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
Yeah, it's going to be interesting to see for sure.
And at the end of the day, do we really
as I began this conversation, do we really trust them?
No matter what they say that there's no way that
you can get in agreement with the Roan over not
having a nuclear weapon without going in there and having
some sort of an inspection, which I highly doubt that
they're going to allow. They could they could build a weapon,
say they haven't got a weapon, and have one anyway.

Speaker 2 (02:01):
Right, And I mean they could all we could have
intrusive inspections.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
We can have.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
Thousands of monitors on the ground, We could have you know,
computer networks and monitors and cameras everywhere. But if they
have an undeclared site underground that we don't know about,
that they've been maybe working on for I don't know,
ten or fifteen years, for this very scenario, it would
be very very hard to find it until they detonate
the nuke and the seismology and meters ago off or
something like that.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
So we've learned this through North Korean and other issues.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
If you really want to stop a country from having
a nuclear weapon, I hate to say it, and I
don't know if I'm even for this that involves military strikes,
bunker buster bombs, multi day campaign. I mean it could
literally mean that, you know, beginning of a third World war.
But if you're committed to getting rid of that program,
that might be the path that Trump has to go down.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
Well, and if Iron has a nucular weapon, I don't believe,
at least it's my personal belief, Harry, that they they
would they would use it. They would use it. They
probably would use it on Israel. And I don't think
the regime worries about what happens to the regime. Their
goal seems to be to wipe out Israel, regardless.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
You know that it's it's very possible.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
I think the thing that's even even scary, to be
honest with you, is the Iranians getting a nuclear weapon,
and then the Saudis, with the trillions of dollars that
they could put into anything they want, could say, maybe
I need a nuclear weapon. And then Guitar says the
same thing, and then the UAE says the same thing,
and then Egypt says the same thing, and you have
essentially a nuclear domino effect that happens throughout the Middle

(03:25):
East where all these countries say, forget about what the
United States or anybody else wants, were if Iran's going
to get a nuclear weapon, and we're fearful of Iran,
we're all going to go get one too. And that
would raise the stakes dramatically. So this is what Donald
Trump is facing. It's something a lot of administrations they
just stuck their head in the sand, and you is coming,
sort of like the North Korean nuclear threat and now
Trump's got to deal with it.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Okay, Harry, thank you. Appreciated National security expert, President of
Rogue States Project, Harry Kasianus. It is seven twenty six
