exactly does that mean?
Speaker 9 (02:22):
Republican strategist Matt Locke says.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
It's a strategy.
Speaker 6 (02:26):
And why is Trump doing it?
Speaker 10 (02:28):
Because you come out and say, well, you know, Vance
is my predecessor. It would leave some people to write
and believe that, you know, hey, Trump's laye duck.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
He's doing anything done.
Speaker 6 (02:37):
He's already turned the reins over to JD.

I remember we had this album when I was a kid.
I remember this Jesus Christ Superstar YEP. Based on the
Broadway musical. There have been a lot of people who
have played the roles, a variety of different roles. Some
some played it pretty much all the way through up
until including the movie. Yvonne Allman comes to mind. She
played Mary Magdalen, noted other individuals play the role of Jesus.
(07:50):
I don't think, though, at any time, has the role
of Jesus ever been played by a woman. Nor do
I think at any time has it ever been played
by a black woman, but evidently that's going to change.
Cynthia Arrivo, she plays the one of the witches in Wicked,
will evidently play Jesus in an upcoming production of Jesus
(08:13):
Christ Superstar. Interesting, Am I making too much out of
it by assuming that what we're trying to do here
is play this to political correctness? You know that? Not
that I'm offended by the idea necessarily, because after all,
(08:34):
this is not the Gospel. This is a musical loosely
based on the Gospel. You know, if you're a Catholic,
and if you ever saw Jesus Christ Superstar, you probably
know the Catholic Church had a few issues with how
it deviated from the actual Gospels. So it's not like
it's not like it was a necessarily a religious sampling
(08:55):
or or a completely truthful telling of the Bible. That
was never what the intent was, I don't think of it.
It was basically turning the life of Jesus into a
rock opera, which back in the early nineteen seventies was
one of those things you did, I guess to get
an interest in the story. But Cynthia Orrivo of Wicked
will be playing Jesus in the upcoming production of Jesus
(09:17):
Christ Superstar. Interesting five ten time for traffic and weather together.
We're gonna check in again with you. Skuy Mike.
Speaker 5 (09:24):
I've got some trouble here on the hard work and
the east side. Put your hard hats on, everybody. This
is East Freeway outbound show Lander, which is fun to spell.
A little tap to get around. That's a stall in
the center lane. If you're heading over toward one forty six.
Let's watch out right as you hit Chevron Phillips, be
ready because you're about to hit some brakes on the
eastbound outbound side.

we're gonna get some normal temperatures around here, Jeff, at
least for the.
Speaker 18 (10:11):
Day, we are going to be a little bit warmer.
I need to talk about this dense fog advisory. I'm
sure that sky Mike will be bringing this up as
we go through the morning rush easier right now to
talk about who is not involved in the dense fog
advisory as of right now, Harris Fort bending down towards Brazouria.
Nothing there and then nothing really on the east side,
(10:33):
but everywhere else we're looking at that dense fog advisory.
Until nine, visibility could be cut down to a quarter
mile or less. So we've got the early fog and clouds,
gradual clearing and as you said, temperature wise, upper sixties today,
right at seventies average, and we'll see that sunshine eventually tonight,
increasing clouds, dense fog late overnight low in the upper
forties again, nice temperature for this time of year. Now
(10:54):
for Tuesday, the early fog, dense in the early going,
early clouds, but gradual clearing. I go up to the
low seventies for the afternoon high. Looks like we get
as warm as we do midweek Wednesday mid seventies for
that high right now temperature forty eight at your official
severe weather station, news radio seven forty k TRH.
Speaker 6 (11:15):
Hey.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
I don't know if miss Sufficient answers, but at least
she sounds like she would be prepared to answer the
question Elon Musk is asking federal employees, which is, namely,
five things you did in the last week. I got up,
I went into the radio station, I did my radio show,
I went home, I walked the dog, I took a nap,
(11:39):
I waited until Elizabeth came home, and then we went
out to eat. Then we came home and watched TV,
and then we went to bed. How many was that?
Is that up to five things? Because that's the thing
I do every day pretty much. I'm just I'm wondering
about this exercise that Elon Musk is given federal employees.
I think he's taxing them, obviously, to come up with
(12:01):
things that they've actually done that are worthy of being employed.
I assume that's what this exercise is all about, right.
In other words, if you can't think of five things
that you accomplished in the last week, then you aren't
really doing anything, in which case, you really shouldn't be
surprised if we don't continue to hire you going forward.
(12:21):
I assume that's what this is all about. So I'm
gonna put the same test to you are listeners as
I just did to myself. Can you name five things
you accomplished in the last week, Five things other than
you know, getting up and going to can't you can't
count getting up and going to bed, and you can't
count going to work and going home. I mean the
(12:42):
actual things you accomplished. And if you can, you know,
good luck on that, because I think it's harder than
the seams. Might be a little harder than the seams.
So you can go to the iHeartRadio app KATR put
us on the preset that makes us very easy defined
when you need us, and then you click on that
and then you've thirty seconds once you hit the microphone
button to talk back. I'd love to get your first name,
(13:04):
your last name, and you know as many as five
things that you accomplished in the last week that you
could think of. Maybe an interesting exercise for all of us,
We'll all get the Elon mustree bit this morning five
twenty time for traffic and weather. Together organize my songs there,
Ghostky Mike found weird compartment. Did you know Toyota has
all kinds of weird compartments?
Speaker 6 (13:24):
You don't even know they're there?
Speaker 4 (13:25):
Why were you looking for the weird compartments? Did you
lose something?
Speaker 6 (13:28):
Yeah, of course I'm always losing something.
Speaker 5 (13:30):
Do you know I could make anything vanish into another dimension.
Let's check out your fog now, I'm just looking around
some random views. Katie Freeway. They're showing me Highway six.
That's a little thick you can see from what I
can see. But I'll bet if we get out further
around Brookshire that's going to be interesting. I'm looking for
Mason Road that's getting kind of thick too.
Speaker 6 (13:50):
Golf Freeway, NASA one. Let's go out further.
Speaker 5 (13:53):
Let's go out to Voshay because it's fun to say's look,
that's a flat view there, okay, one forty six the
Texas City. Why it looks like visibility is good? To
go there, North Freeway, Woodlands Parkway. That's getting a little sticky.
Let's go further out to a river plantation. You could
see for now, but let me know what your visibility
is seven one three, two one two Tips that'll count
(14:15):
for one of those things you've gotten done this week.

Speaker 4 (15:27):
Well, all the gold in the US supposedly is in
Fort Knox, at least the vast majority of it. The
question is should they audit Fort Knox? Do you trust
that there's as much gold in Fort Knox as they
claim there is, or should we do an audit. I
think a lot of people are saying right now, we
really should do an audit. Let's let's find out for
sure what we've got at Fort Knox. Let's let's see,
(15:47):
let's see if we have what we think we have,
and if we don't, then we had better figure something
else out Pawn Stars, you've ever seen Paul Stars, Rick Harrison,
good conservative guy Carson on pond Stars. The of course
they sell gold and silver all the time. He got
asked about auditing Fort Knox and about gold and silver
(16:07):
in general, because it's flying off the shelves right now.
Speaker 19 (16:10):
I mean, I'm just saying that, like everyone doesn't say no,
and we should have audited.
Speaker 20 (16:16):
We should probably audit it.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
You know, there's no good.
Speaker 20 (16:19):
Reason not to. And then when they start arguing that
we should makes it even even.
Speaker 21 (16:23):
A better case for broad Absolutely, tell me what traffic
you've seen in buyers who come to your gold and
silver pawn shop, because obviously you get a massive amount
of traffic. I've been there. It's fascinating to watch. And
even a year and a half ago when I was
last there, you told me that you were really getting
(16:43):
a lot of pressure from people to buy gold.
Speaker 6 (16:46):
They really wanted to buy it.
Speaker 11 (16:49):
No, I mean I can't.
Speaker 19 (16:51):
My problem is is like my suppliers are lifting the
amount of goldle cellet in gold and silver because they
can't get it in.
Speaker 20 (17:00):
I mean it's gone absolutely nuts.
Speaker 19 (17:03):
I mean ty By South Korea, they d retail sales
here lately because the government's buying it all.
Speaker 20 (17:09):
It's remember where we live in a world where we're.
Speaker 19 (17:13):
Printing money like like competting, and it's getting a lot
of people concerned. I mean we're the government's number one
line item now is interest on the debt is thirty
six trillion dollars.
Speaker 20 (17:25):
I mean you're never going to be able to pay
that off.
Speaker 19 (17:27):
So the only way to get it pay down the
debt is either inflate the money supply or monetize the debt,
which would constumplation anyway. So yeah, that's one of the
reasons why I think everyone's buying gold.
Speaker 21 (17:38):
There's silver's there's a worry though about repricing the goal
that's in Fort Knox, Okay, This one hundred and forty
seven million troy ounces of the yellow metal. And if
you were to reprice it, because the last time the
reserve was audited was back in nineteen seventy four, and
gold back then was like forty three dollars or something
(17:58):
like that per ounce.
Speaker 1 (18:00):
Now it worth gold.
Speaker 20 (18:02):
I think the government still keeps on its books at thirty.
Speaker 21 (18:04):
Five dollars thirty five okay, thirty five dollars. It's not
thirty five dollars now it's two thousand, four hundred and
ninety or so dollars per troy ounce. For every action,
there's an equal and opposite reaction. What do you say
as a downside of repricing it.
Speaker 19 (18:21):
If they're just something to keep the gold in the vault,
there's no you know, there's there's It really doesn't affect anybody.
I mean, they could sit around and say it's worth
a million dollars an ounce. But if you're not going
to buy you, or is buy any or is selling
if advice, it doesn't affect the general public. I think
the reason people are buying gold is it's a hedge
(18:42):
against inflation.
Speaker 20 (18:43):
And maybe not from year to year, but gold is
up almost fifty percent of the past year.
Speaker 19 (18:49):
But literally, if you one hundred years ago, if you
bought a really nice customate suit, it cost you an
ounce of gold.
Speaker 20 (18:55):
One hundred years later, it costs you an ounce of gold.
Speaker 10 (18:59):
You know.
Speaker 19 (19:00):
Yeah, my house used to cost right around a buddle
income house.
Speaker 20 (19:04):
You to cost like forty hous a goal house like forty.
Speaker 4 (19:08):
Goal That is interesting to me though, that the only
value gold the golf is a four Knox is priced
at thirty five dollars an ounce. Can I get some
of that for thirty five bucks an ounce? I'd love that?
All right? Five twenty seven, Time to take a look

Shipping Tireton down and you've got it's funding and cut
its advertising dollars and get it back to what it
was supposed to do, which was to fund schools.
Speaker 6 (25:17):
It's not so not doing its original purpose. We need
to shd source. The Lottery Commission did not respond to
our request for comment. Lottery Commissioner Clark Smith resigned late Friday.
Looking at your money, everybody took a hit under Joe Biden.
That's especially the case for Eustonians and people in other
Texas cities.
Speaker 30 (25:38):
Wallet Hub list Houston as the city with the most
people in financial distress, which it defines as being behind
on at least one loan payment.
Speaker 31 (25:46):
In all likelihood, if you're financially distressed, it's a pretty
fair bed that you probably have more than one account.
Speaker 6 (25:53):
Chip Blupo with wallet Hub, says Austin.
Speaker 30 (25:56):
San Antonio and Dallas are also in the top ten
for most financially trouble cities in the US. He believes
many people are moving to Texas because of the lower
taxes and business friendly policies, but then have poor budget
habits and overspend on all the attractions that big city
life brings.
Speaker 6 (26:11):
Eric Sharp News Radio seven forty KTRA thank you our
gas price is checking in at two seventy a gallon
across Houston, the result of refinery maintenance and Patrick Dehanna gas,
But he says, look at the calendar, prices always go
up this time of year. We will see some.
Speaker 32 (26:27):
Increases here over the week's aad but at the end
of the day, it shouldn't be a record setting year
at all. In fact, during the summer, I do think
that Houston will probably spend a fair good amount of
the summer months with average gas prices staying at or
below that three dollars gallon mark.
Speaker 6 (26:41):
He says, we have plenty of refinery capacity to keep
our prices level five point thirty six. And looking at
your health, something we didn't see coming an epidemic of
short sightedness.
Speaker 33 (26:53):
One of the major factors here is increased screen time,
but there's more to it.
Speaker 34 (26:57):
The increased screen time and the decrease time outside the
limited time outside. Strangely f fact people becoming more near sighted.
Speaker 33 (27:06):
Optometrist doctor Amanda Holscher says, there is a way to
reduce your risk of developing or worsening myopia.
Speaker 34 (27:11):
It's definitely balanced limiting screen time. Looking down a long
hallway out a window, spending more time outdoors.
Speaker 33 (27:20):
Doctor Holscher says, unfortunately, the only way to reverse near
sightedness is through surgical treatments like lasik Ethan Buchanan News

and the Houston Morning News teams.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
Five thirty eight. Our time here in the Houston's Morning News.
You're familiar with Hooters, the restaurant, right, Yeah. Evidently they're
getting ready to file for Chapter eleven bankruptcy. At least
according to Bloomberg News, casual dining chain preparing for potential
bankruptcy filing as it works with creditors on a plan
to restructure its operations. That it sounds to me like
they're not talking about going out of business. They're talking
(28:03):
about restructuring under bankruptcy. So you're safe there, Mike. I
think there'll still be Hooters around.
Speaker 35 (28:09):
Yeay.
Speaker 4 (28:09):
No final decision for seeking Chapter eleven projection has been made.
Finally could take place within the next two months. I'm
not sure what the problem is. People still like beer,
people still like wings, people still like really cute girls
and really tight outfits, serving beers and beers and wings.
So I'm not quite sure what's happened there. But Hooters
(28:32):
has been around for a long time, you know, It's
been around since like nineteen eighty four, and in fact,
this little old in factor it was originated in Clearwater, Florida.
One of the former owners of Hooters, one of the
original owners of Hooters, lived in Tampa, and Elizabe and
I almost moved to Tampa a number of years ago,
and one of the houses we looked at was this
(28:54):
guy's house, and the whole lower level of his house
was a Hooters bar. He was on re I mean,
he had all the sign age. He didn't I just
seen the Hooters girls, but he had everything else going
on there. He had. He had a big enough walk
out to open up his own restaurant. So hopefully they'll
be fine, and they're just going to restructure. By the way,
(29:14):
prettiest Hooters girls you ever saw, what what town were
they I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go with the
I'm gonna bat on rouge, Louisiana Baton rouge right before
an LSU game. Pretty girls all went to the LSU
probably five forty time for traffic and brother together Tampa. Well,
(29:36):
I think they were just wearing the right colors.
Speaker 5 (29:37):
Remember the old buccaneer uniforms were exactly the same color
as Hooters girls.
Speaker 4 (29:41):
That's true, the original one. They had the creamsirckle ones.
Speaker 5 (29:44):
You know where they started. There needs to be something
where they're a little older for you know, guys like
you and me. Where they you know, start at thirty five,
so it's not so creepy, little thicker, you know, single mothers,
tired of financially struggling.
Speaker 6 (29:55):
And uh, there was a place on the north side.
Speaker 5 (29:58):
A guy was telling me about let's go to Let's
go to the north side and we'll check up here. Oh,
there's a Hooters in the Woodlands southbound forty five Grand
park Way.
Speaker 6 (30:06):
We look good, and that's a little thick.
Speaker 5 (30:09):
I see some fog here. They have cleared major problems.
I mean, well, there were big problems. Big rig forty five,
a cavalcade. It wasn't blocking a lot for laneage, but
they man, they had a big response. Now I see
why were they were putting all these HPDs there just
for the protection of the super Ninjas. That's clear and
also itenant show lander. Still fun to say. It's easy
(30:30):
to get by now. That was outbound. That was a
big rig stall and inbound from Barber's whill a boy
year off.
Speaker 6 (30:36):
Fancy.
Speaker 5 (30:36):
Now we're looking at thirty two minutes and oh, Brad
from Bellville's an it in west Hey.
Speaker 2 (30:40):
Mike ceiling to Browshire.
Speaker 11 (30:42):
Man, I'm in Berkshire right now.
Speaker 10 (30:43):

Speaker 10 (30:46):
We can still see just buying out here.
Speaker 5 (30:48):

about two eighty eight.
Speaker 10 (30:52):

That tall and you see root clear.
Speaker 6 (30:59):
Well, he kind of stands out.
Speaker 5 (31:00):
It's always morning in Angleton Skymike on a Generator Supercenter

Speaker 4 (31:05):
He's not even made out of the wood from Mark
Katirah Generator Supercenter, twenty four hour Weather Center. A time
to check in with Jeff, You and O in for
Terry today. We're finally getting the temperature squared away to
where they ought to be. We're gonna put up a
little morning fog. I guess along with that process. Huh,
that will be the case here.
Speaker 18 (31:21):
And speaking of Brazouria, that's one of the few counties
now not involved in this dense fog advisory. The majority
of Harris County is now in that. So we'll just
say dense fog advisory until nine am. Visibility could be
cut down to a quarter mile or less. The fog
is a little less dense to the south and to
the east, but we will see gradual clearing. Speaking of
(31:43):
the temperatures, we'll get up to the upper sixties today,
we'll flirt with seventy. Seventy is right where we are
supposed to be. Eventually, we'll see lots of sunshine tonight,
increasing clouds with dense fog late over night low falls
back into the upper forties, and then four hour Tuesday
with that dense fog early and the early clouds eventually
giving way again to gradual clearing. Low seventies for that high,
(32:05):
and then we'll hit the mid seventies Wednesday. It looks
like for now that is as warm as we get
through the work week, and we will see sunshine, no
rain in the forecast.
Speaker 4 (32:12):
Temperature right now is still forty eight. If your official

not sure any of these things are the things that
must wants to hear about. You may have heard, though,
Elon Musk wants Berl workers to tell him five things
they've done last week to justify getting a paycheck. Basically,
so if you got to asked the same question from

Speaker 6 (32:48):

Speaker 36 (32:50):
I think I'll probably just pack my stuff up and
get ready to get fired because I think I can't
think of anything that I've done productive besides doing my
taxis that's it?
Speaker 6 (32:59):
That's all I got.
Speaker 4 (33:02):
It's pretty productive, though doing your taxes takes a lot
out of you. That pretty much is all I can handle.
Any one time too. By fifty time for traffic and

Who knows what happens next?
Speaker 1 (35:02):
Happens here on youth Radio seven.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
H five fifty three is our time here in Houston's
Point News. Gas isn't crazy expensive, but it isn't getting cheaper.
Hasn't gotten cheaper recently anyway. Phil Flynn joins US industry analyst.
I love how we we like to say, well Trump's president,
I'll come price and gas hasn't gone down. It's if somehow.
You know, that's one's got to do anything with the
(35:28):
other one. All Trump can do is is, you know,
decrease regulations and and provide the stability oil produces need
in order to feel confident producing more oil and gas.
But that takes time. Your turn, sir, Good morning, Good morning.
Can you hear me?
Speaker 35 (35:50):
I can hear you now, I wasn't hearing you there
for a minute.
Speaker 6 (35:52):
Can you hear me?
Speaker 4 (35:53):
Okay, fur I hear you, fine, I hear you fine. Okay.
So we were just, yeah, we're just talking about, you know,
how gas lean go. Well, President Trump said, how come
Gashleen hasn't gone bound like t one of your thirty
cents Ago? Doesn't quite work that way, does it.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
No, it doesn't happen overnight.
Speaker 35 (36:08):
But I will tell you this, Jimmy. If you look
at the price of oil right now, it's a lot
lower than a lot of people thought it would be
at this time of year. And we're already getting signals
that the Trump policy is having a downward impact on
oil prices. In fact, one of the things that broke
this weekend there was a dispute in I rat believe
(36:30):
it or not, with the government of the Kurdish government
in Iraq, which is kind of a weird situation, but
there was kind of a contract dispute of their oil
production that was held up. Donald Trump said, hey, guys,
you better settle that dispute, get that oil flowing, or
we're going to put tariffs not only on Iran but
(36:50):
on Iraq. And all of a sudden, today we hear
reports that oil is going to flow. So, you know,
President Trump declared an energy emergency. He understands where the
future is going and it's needed to be powered by
fossil fuels. And I think he's on the right track.
And prices are lower than they should have been or
would have been without President.
Speaker 4 (37:09):
Trump under the best of circumstances. Are we going to
see sub two dollars gallon gasoline anytime in the not
too distant future.
Speaker 6 (37:17):
I doubt it.
Speaker 35 (37:18):
But you know what, I don't think you know, everybody's
focused on a number for gasoline. I think you have
to put everything in perspective, right, And that's a reworking
of US oil and gas, right, That's a reworking of
a reduction of an inflation in other areas. And I
think if you look at the tax consequences on gasoline.
(37:39):
That's a big part of the cost. I think Donald
Trump is moving towards streamlining those things and why we
might not see two dollars gallon gasoline. You know, I
definitely think we're going to see something in the three
dollars range at some point in our near future.
Speaker 4 (37:54):
And I would think too the driverage consumer, they would
just like to see consistency, right, They would like to
see a relatively low price, and a relatively low price
for a consistent period of time, like more than just
a few months, or more than just a year or two.
If we could get to the point where we're producing
enough where we could, you know, we have a steady
supply of relatively low price gasoline, that would be the goal, right, it.
Speaker 35 (38:17):
Would be right, you know, And that means building more
refineries here in the United States. That means taking advantage
of the type of oil that we produce here. And
I think President Trump has the right idea, right, it
has to be in everything and above energy policy, and
we really haven't gone that way. You know, We've thrown
all this money at green energy projects that will probably
(38:38):
never come to fruition. We throw money against the wall
now it needs to be invested where we know things work.
And if we do that, then prices are going to
be down. It's going to create jobs here in the
United States. Bring back manufacturing. That's all part and posse
so parcel to good energy production and good energy policy.
Speaker 4 (38:58):
Well, there you go. They'll always good to talk to you.

they've shut.
Speaker 5 (40:08):
Down the whole feeder road apparently, so there's been some

Speaker 6 (41:29):
They're gone, they're fired. Musco also send an email to
all federal employees demanding they tell him how productive they
are or face termination. We'll have more on that at
six point thirty. Meantime, Vice President JD. Vance easily wins
the Seapack Straw poll by fifty points over Steve Bennon. Now,
Trump calls Vance quote very capable, but isn't ready to
(41:51):
call him his successor yet. Katie Vance is going to
be the successor to Trump.
Speaker 1 (41:56):
I believe that wholeheartedly.
Speaker 4 (41:57):
I think Trump believes that too.
Speaker 10 (41:58):
I think Trump is being very state trying to move
through doge and spending, and the Republican Party has a
very very deep and young ban.
Speaker 6 (42:08):
Republican strategist Matt Locke says Vance needs an endorsement before
next year's midterms. Six ZHO three. The President was busy
this weekend firing joint chief of staff. The Joint chiefs
of Staff also Air Force Center role c Q. Brown,
naming Dan Bongino his deputy director of the FBI. The
administration also is reportedly eliminating sixteen hundred jobs at USAID.
(42:33):
Thanks to the mainstream media's bashing, crying, and complaining, Trump's
pull numbers are starting to drop slightly, but he still
has plenty of support. Donald Trump is through with his
first month and his second term as president.
Speaker 11 (42:46):
Well, I would say it's been a huge success. Remind yourself, well,
on what basis was he elected and what was he
elected to do? And therefore what has he done.
Speaker 24 (42:55):
Author and political commentator Kevin Howard says Trump and doges

Acting ICE Director Ron Vittello has been reassigned. The Trump

There's kind of a feeling of sovereignism that is New

Speaker 15 (45:39):
These are things that have been taught for decades across

Nations Plaza are considered quote non core assets to be

A core asset? A non core asset means that they're
not really being utilized or used. I would guess right.
Former Democratic Representative Jackie Spier believes the potential sales are
part of Trump's retaliation against Democrats in California.
Speaker 6 (47:42):
You just want to sell it because you're angry.
Speaker 4 (47:45):
Well, no, I think one of the other buildings considered
forced potentially for sale because it's not being occupied is
around Reagan Building. They certainly wouldn't be doing that out
of retaliation towards Ronald Reagan. They would be doing that
because the building is not being used or utilized, and
(48:06):
therefore we might as well sell it off and put
the money in the treasury. The Seventh Street Federal Building,
what's ridiculed by Trump as ugly during his first term,
is that the one that's named after Nancy or not?
I can't tell anyway, We probably, I'm sure we have
plenty of buildings that are either underoccupied, underoccupied, underutilized, or
(48:31):
are in bad need of renovation, or whatever the case
may be. It doesn't make sense, you know, with this
new austerity program going out at the federal government level,
for us not to just be utilizing the best, most

the ones that we either are not using or underutilizing,

out here. South Sam at ninety a. They're re routing
all these people. It looks to me.
Speaker 6 (49:07):
Now, you correct me if I'm wrong. I don't always know.
Speaker 5 (49:10):
One hundred percent everything, uh, but my memory and also
what i'm looking at from some old shots here South
Sam ninety eight. All right, both of these are elevated,
So if you're on the South Sam, I know for
sure you can get by.
Speaker 4 (49:22):
You're just fine.
Speaker 5 (49:23):
What they have is some high water under the intersection.
I also believe that ninety a. In fact, for what
I can see here, ninety eight is also elevated, So
if you're taking the most city expressway, you can get
all the way to the south Loop.
Speaker 6 (49:36):
That's not going to slow you down.
Speaker 5 (49:37):
The only thing you could do to mess up from
what I'm seeing here, is if you try to get
down in that intersection under both the roadways for some reason,
so they've got the high water that's going to mess
you up.
Speaker 6 (49:47):
You let me know on the tip line if I'm
right or wrong. Seven point three two one two tips.
Speaker 5 (49:52):
But I believe it looks to me like both elevated
roadways are getting by this just fine.
Speaker 6 (49:56):
Some kind of high water thing.
Speaker 5 (49:57):
We're getting loopy at the squeeze six ' ten northwest
found at forty five about a two minute scunch, and
downtown east text the elevated starting to pack up by
the ballpark. I's sky Mike gets your Generator Supercenter dot

From r KTRH top tax Defenders twenty four hour weather Center.
Time to check in with Jeffy. You know, he's keeping
an eye on the fog. That'll burn off as the
morning where's on and we're gonna be left with some sunshine.
That's something we that precious little of lately.
Speaker 18 (50:21):
Yeah, after the soggy weather through the weekend, to finish
out the weekend, we're gonna welcome in the sunshine eventually.
Today we've got the early fog in the clouds. Like
you said, that dense fog advisory goes until nine a m.
Visibility could be cut down to a quarter mile or less,
and we're pretty much kind of covered up in it now.
Areas a little farther to the west may be a
(50:41):
little worse for wear, but we will eventually see that
sunshine and we will get up into the upper sixties.
Today right at seventy is the average high, and then
tonight increasing clouds once again, dense fog rolling back in.
Speaker 4 (50:53):
Late we'll fall back to the upper forties. Right at
fifty is the average low. We'll see that dense fog.
Early Tuesday, we'll see the early clouds again and then
work in gradual clearing go back up to the low seventies.
Warmest day of the work week coming on Wednesday with sunshine,
and we're headed up to the mid seventies for that high.
Right down forty eight at your official severe weather station,
news radio seven forty KTRHS. We have a question today.
(51:19):
You can respond to it by going to the iHeartRadio
app KTRH. Put us on your preset that gets you
there fast. I do mean fast, just like it gets
you fast to the radio station on's on your car
radio and elon Musk asking government employees, please tell me
the five things you did in the last week to
justify paycheck. Basically, so, what did you do on the
(51:42):
job in the last week that actually got something accomplished
to make that earned you a salary. Can you do that?
How hard would that be to do in our own
everyday lives? Can you come up with five things you
did last week to earn a paycheck? Or is it harder?
As hard as it seems. You'd like to think you
(52:04):
could come up with five things. I'm not sure you could,
but anyway, you can answer the question by going to
the iHeartRadio app again, katrh You get thirty seconds talk
once you cook the microphone button and give me your
first name, where you're calling from, and your thoughts right
now though traffic and weather together as we check out
the guy once again. What's that sky mine?
Speaker 5 (52:23):
I said Mike from Tarkington on the iHeartRadio App. I
went to Goodwill and bought a bunch of clothes.
Speaker 6 (52:28):
Does that count as it?
Speaker 4 (52:29):
Does that bring you a paycheck? At iHeartMedia?
Speaker 6 (52:31):
I think it should.
Speaker 5 (52:32):
I think you should get something. You know, we're like
models in a way, all right, South Sam. I double
checked this with the Pretty Ladies on TV and we
all pretty much concur you could get by on both
the South Sam and ninety eight.
Speaker 6 (52:44):
What we have is we have high water.
Speaker 5 (52:46):
It's all kinds of crazy lights here and I don't
know how they had high water.
Speaker 6 (52:50):
Did you have a broken water main?
Speaker 5 (52:51):
I don't think that's any kind of leftover rain stuff,
but they've shut down the intersection.
Speaker 6 (52:56):
Kyle from Prinswood, Hey, Morning.
Speaker 38 (52:57):
Scoty, Mike.
Speaker 11 (52:58):
I just came up the top of ninety A.
Speaker 24 (53:01):
Come on the bell way ahead and left bound, looking
at ninety eight from above.
Speaker 11 (53:05):
Traffic teams to be moving.
Speaker 14 (53:07):
I can tell that traffic is being diverted from underneath
the bridge.
Speaker 5 (53:10):
All right, I'm not sending people off ninety eight then,
so it looks like you're getting by just fine. I'm
in the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center.

Time to check out some of our top stories on
this Monday. Here's clip.
Speaker 6 (53:41):
Thank you, Jimmy. Today is the anniversary of Russia's invasion
of Ukraine in twenty twenty two. Police say the man
who held staff at a Pittsburgh hospital at gunpoint before
killing a cop and visited that same hospital days before
the shooting. And for the first time since the nineteen seventies. Jimmy,
did you see this? The New York are changing their
facial hair policy. It used to be you had to
(54:03):
be clean shaven or have a mustache. Yeah, now they're
allowing well groomed beards. The change is because they've missed
out on several high profile free agents.
Speaker 4 (54:12):
Hag On, You mean to tell me there are people
who wouldn't play for the Yankees because the hair policy.
Speaker 6 (54:17):
Yep, seriously, seriously. Wow allegedly got the latest news anytime
at KTRH dot com. Our next update is at six.
Speaker 1 (54:25):
Thirty News gathered, reports, aired, and reactions role in people
were going to lose their freaking mind, the big story
of the week on news Radio seven KTRH.
Speaker 4 (54:38):
You know it's not that bad being number two, ask
jd Vance. I mean, it's a pretty good spot to
be in now. He has not received the mantle of
air Apparent yet Anyway, President Trump says he doesn't yet
view jd Vance as his successor in twenty twenty eight.
But Buddy went on to say, but he's very capable.
(54:58):
Matt Locke joins us hosting Republican strategists. That probably doesn't
mean a whole heck of a lot at this point,
does it, Matt? I mean they did their usual straw
poll at Sea Pack and there was nobody within a mile,
nobody within one hundred miles of Jdvans.
Speaker 10 (55:16):
No, it doesn't mean a whole lot. I mean, we
all know that JD. Vance is going to be the
guy in twenty twenty eight. We also know that Trump's
a strategists, and we know that right now. Trump has
been plotting this last four years, trying to get all
of this done.
Speaker 6 (55:31):
So I think it's more of a deflection than anything else.
Speaker 4 (55:34):
Okay, deflection, Why though, why do you think he needs
to deflect Trump sego.
Speaker 10 (55:38):
I don't think allows him to not be number one
and number two. I think it's one of those deals
where you keep it out of the what I call
the state run media. You keep it from being a story,
you keep it from well, Donald Trump is a lame duck.
Speaker 6 (55:50):
Nobody wants to be called that. We know it's the
second term of Donald Trump.
Speaker 10 (55:54):
We know he's the second president ever to have non
consecutive terms. Trump's mind, I think it's more strategic than
anything else.
Speaker 6 (56:03):
It's a hurdle that he doesn't have to deal with.
Speaker 4 (56:05):
Yet, Okay, And might there be other strategies involved as
well as far as dealing with jd Vance, as far
as making sure that jd is fully on board with
the Trump policies. In other words, if you want to
be the next Republican standard bearer, you're going to need
to stand for what I stand for.
Speaker 10 (56:23):
Maybe in a way, I don't know if it's a
litmus test per se. I think it's allowing jd Vance
to be jd Vance. He's very articulate, he's very smart.
He is a younger version of Donald Trump. He handles
the media very well. And there's really nothing that you
can say to the guy that he doesn't have a
very concise and inappropriate answer too.
Speaker 4 (56:45):
That's a good point. He certainly let the Europeans know
what he thought about him. He wasn't afraid, He was
not afraid to share his opinions on that was he well.
Speaker 10 (56:53):
He did light up XXX for a few days over
the fact that Europe maybe should carry a little bit
of their weight instead crabbing about how the United States
does things since we're what seventy percent of NATO's funding.
So yeah, he made a little bit of stir in Munich.
But I think that's what Donald Trump wants him to do.
I think Donald Trump needs him to be the stick
that stirs the drink while Donald Trump's busy doing what
(57:15):
Donald Trump has planned out for the last four years
to make America great again. There you go, I met,
Always good to talk to you.
Speaker 4 (57:21):
Thank you. Host and Republican strategist Matt Locke. It's six
twenty seven. It is time to take a look at
your money as we check in once again with Jeff
Bellinger and Jimmy.
Speaker 22 (57:31):
Microsoft may be concerned that it's getting ahead of itself
when it comes to computing capacity related to artificial intelligence.
TD Cowen reports the software giant has started canceling leases

the company is turned cautious about the outlook for AI.

Speaker 6 (59:54):
Thank you, Jimmy. It is six thirty two on KTRHR.
Top story. Elon musk as Federal Employees has asked federal
employees to list the five things they did last week
to be productive or face termination. The left of courses
crying about this. Most Republicans aren't.
Speaker 39 (01:00:10):
One of the things he said he was going to
do was get rid of the waste, fraud, and abuse,
and the stupid spending going on in the federal government.
Instead of Democrats attacking the guy who's exposing the stupid spending,
how about helping us get rid of the stupid spending.
Speaker 6 (01:00:24):
Republican Congressman Jim Jordan on Fox That said, the FBI, DHS,
Departments of State, Health, Energy, and HHS also reportedly told
staff to disregard the email. This comes as we hear
that the President wants to abolish the IRS completely and
install an external revenue service to collect revenue from tariffs.
Speaker 25 (01:00:45):
And we all have to pay taxes. But I see
looked at what's happened over the past month, and the
waste in our federal government has been paying various entities.
I think a lot of Americans are very frustrated and angry,
and the IRIS is a great place to be reformed.
Speaker 6 (01:01:01):
Financial planner Mitch Kramer says he could see most IRS
responsibilities getting rolled up into the Department of Treasury, The
left also doesn't like the fact that the Trump administration
wants Ukraine to give US access to rare earth minerals
payment for everything that they got from Joe Biden. The
administration's take.
Speaker 40 (01:01:20):
People are welcome to bring better ideas, but all I've
heard is perpetuate more war, and that is no one
should be a surprise that that's not what President Trump
campaigned on or intends to do.
Speaker 6 (01:01:32):
National Security Advisor Michael Waltz. European leaders also didn't like
being left out of peace talks between the US and
Russia last week, and some are visiting the White House
to complain this week. Francis Emmanuel McCrone meets with Trump today.
The left also did not like Trump meeting with Russia
about possible peace, but Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth pointed out
(01:01:55):
an inconvenient truth.
Speaker 26 (01:01:57):
Joe Biden was never able to bring Russia to the
table for actual peace talks. Only Donald Trump. He's the
only man of the world that we're able to do that.
He's also engaging directly with Ukraine. There's going to be
bumps in the road in these conversations when you're seeking
a historic piece.
Speaker 6 (01:02:11):

and Patrick is now threatening to shut the lottery down.
Speaker 39 (01:03:26):

of questions and to make a lot of changes, or
they're going to be out of business.

Chris Lupo with Wallet hup this one helped. Gas prices
are on the rise once again as springtime approaches.
Speaker 38 (01:04:33):
But it's part of a cyclical process and refinery maintenance
as summertime comes while.
Speaker 32 (01:04:38):
At maintenance is happening and they're not able to produce
as much fuel. In addition, we're also beginning to transition
to summer gas lane in the next couple of weeks.
Speaker 6 (01:04:46):
At summer gas and more expensive.
Speaker 38 (01:04:47):
Patrick DeHaan of gas Buddy says demand also begins going
up this time of year, and with Houston being the
mecca of refining, we still won't see too big a.

got to do with increased screen time and decrease time outdoors.
But there are ways to protect children from it.
Speaker 34 (01:05:23):
Putting children in bicocal contacts, using what we call atropine
eye drops at night, even having kids sleep in a
rigid contact lens.
Speaker 6 (01:05:33):
For adults, optometrist Amanda Holscher says it's important to make
sure that you're balancing your screen time with your time outdoors,
as well as taking breaks during screen time.
Speaker 4 (01:05:42):
Why don't we just take their damn devices away?
Speaker 6 (01:05:44):
Well, that would be a good answer to geez. I'm

The very latest on your way to work. This is
Houston's Morning News with Jimmy Barrett. Six thirty eight is
their time here in Houston's Morning News.
Speaker 4 (01:06:04):
Right. The list of sinful cities is back out again,
and we did pretty well in Texas. I mean, if
that's what you're going for, was more sin overall, we
are the fifth most sinful state, we are told in
the country. We lack the I think this covers basically the.
Speaker 9 (01:06:23):
You know, the.
Speaker 4 (01:06:26):
The seven deadly sins is what I think they took
a look at. Here were we ranked number sixth in jealousy.
Then again, if you're gonna be lusty, you're gonna probably
have some jealousy. Number thirtieth in excesses and vices, so
not that high. Number seven in vanity, number twenty third
(01:06:48):
in laziness, but far and away number one in lust.
We're a lusty bunch, and some of that's probably good
and normal and healthy depends on who you're being lusty with.
I guess as far as how healthy it can be,
you know. But then again, I wonder. I'm kind of surprised.
(01:07:10):
Wouldn't you think the Las Vegas would rank number one
in versually all of those categories? Nevada would be number
one visually in all those categories. Evidently not No Number
one and lust number seven, in vanity number six, and
jealousy and number twenty third and being lazy six forty
time for traffic and Weather's farm raised boys, And we're
(01:07:31):
not being lazy today.
Speaker 6 (01:07:32):
No, we're definitely not lazy.
Speaker 4 (01:07:34):
We could be lusty, but we're not lazy.
Speaker 5 (01:07:36):
Well, you gotta be, you know, you gotta work hard
to pay for all the problems caused by lust. So
this is a southwest freeway. I'm trying to figure out
what is going on here in the Montrose Canyon. You know,
there's really two canyons. There's one downtown where two eighty
eight merges with sixty nine, and there's the one with
the all lot old pretty bridges in Montrose northbound. I'm
looking from Dunlavy, Okay, these people are coming to a
(01:07:58):
dead stop. It sure looks to me, Yeah, thank you,
zoom out. Finally, sure looks like they've got a stall
in the left lane right before the downtown split to
go to Louisiana Street. But now they've just pulled this out.
It sure looks like there's a stall to me, somebody
can see that better. Look at the scoots here from
Kirby two Southwest Freeway. Let's reroute to the Katie Freeway
till we figure out what that is. Also, you got
(01:08:19):
high water. It's in the intersection South Sam at ninety A.
If you're on ninety a's main lanes, you're fine. Same
thing for South Sam. Just don't get in that interception.
Speaker 1 (01:08:29):
Aha.
Speaker 5 (01:08:29):
They found it northbound after Maine. That's an accident on
the Southwest Freeway. Okay, See this is a running work

the fall, we're gonna be left with a lot of

Speaker 18 (01:08:58):
That's gonna be a good looking start to the work
We'll see the sunshine head up to the upper sixties,
pretty good temperature for this time of year. And about
five minutes ago or so, it became official we are
blanketed in the entire region under that dense fog advisory.
Even into the open waters a bit. Visibility could be
cut down to a quarter mile or less, So take
(01:09:18):
it easy out there. We've got increasing clouds tonight, dense
fog comes back late overnight, low in the upper forties.
So we'll start the day off Tuesday kind of like today,
dense fog early on, early clouds, but then gradual clearing.
Temperature wise maybe a tick higher as we go up
to the low seventies, and then we hit the mid

difference between the two, speaking of which the governor Maine
(01:10:17):
doesn't understand the difference between the two. We'll get into
that a little bit here. That was aver Maybe I
should do that one next. That was that was completely
defined what she did at the Governor's dinner that was
held at the at the White House, and Trump called
her on it right on the spot. But anyway, maybe
I'll think of both them. We'll see. First though, let's

and weather next on the ten.
Speaker 4 (01:12:12):
Yeah. I think the Trump administration tries to be very
clear on what they think a man is versus what
they think a woman is. And certainly they're very clear
that they do not want women participating in men's sports
and vice versa. And so this is this is just
a reminder that not all governors are intending to cooperate,
(01:12:33):
even the ones that managed to go to Trump's Little
Governor's Dinner on Friday at the White House. Main's governor
openly defiant on Trump's order that men cannot play in
women's sports. Here's a little bit about how that conversation went.
Speaker 7 (01:12:51):
My my mind, I understand, Maine is the Maine here,
the governor of Main Well, are you not going.
Speaker 1 (01:12:59):
To comply with it state federal laws?
Speaker 6 (01:13:02):
Well, we are the federal law. Well you better do it.
Speaker 7 (01:13:05):
You better do it because you're not going to get
any federal funding at all of you don't.
Speaker 6 (01:13:09):
And by the way, your population even though it's somewhat liberal.
Orthough I did very well there.
Speaker 7 (01:13:13):
Your population doesn't want men playing in women's sports, so
you better, you better comply because otherwise you're not getting
any federal funding every state. Good, I'll see, and could
I look forward to that. That should be a really
easy one. And enjoy your life after governor, because I
don't think you'll be an elected politics.
Speaker 41 (01:13:32):
Well, you know, it shouldn't have been a surprise because
when Joe Biden left office, he tried to change Title
nine and he tried to add the transgender identity as
being a basis for discrimination. And so a federal judge
has since vacated that, and the President has issued an
executive order. And this should not be a surprise to
(01:13:53):
any Democrat because the country in incredible numbers. I don't
know what the stats are, the country is against men
in women's sports. Everybody knows that a transgender is in
a physical advantage over girls. Okay, if you're playing into
girls sport sports. So President's saying, you're going to jeopardize
(01:14:15):
two hundred and fifty million dollars in federal funding, and
she's going to say, well, I'm following following federal law.
Speaker 6 (01:14:21):
And state law.
Speaker 41 (01:14:21):
Who cares what the state law said. The federal law
has supremacy on this issue. It's federal money, okay, and
she's going to lose, and it's stupid of her, as
far as I'm concerned to say, well, you know, with
the federal law supports says, no.
Speaker 6 (01:14:34):
You're stupid. It doesn't.
Speaker 4 (01:14:35):
Yeah, it doesn't. Then you're going to give up tw

your voters how they feel about that. All right, six

Republican strategist Matt Locke says, it's a strategy.
Speaker 6 (01:18:58):
And why is Trump doing.
Speaker 10 (01:19:00):
Because you come out and say, well, you know, Vance
is my predecessor. It would leave some people to write
and believe that, you know, hey, Trump's Laine Duck. He's
doing anything done. He's already turned the reins over to JD. Vans.

Later, Well dream on and Man. Seven twenty one is
our time here in Houston's News. You'd like to think
that whoever wins the Texas Lottery, first of all, would
be nice if it was a Texan. Number two, would
be nice if it was just an actual citizen who
just happens to up by a retail outlet and bought
a lucky ticket. But when you find out that there
(01:31:13):
are listed lottery ticket resellers and that that's maybe who's
winning some of this stuff, it is a little a
little concerning, I would say, to say the least. Briscocine
Joins is Texas state representative from Deer Park. We saw
Lieutenant Governor's upset about this. I'm guessing you feel the same.
Speaker 2 (01:31:31):
Holy cow, how can you not be bothered?
Speaker 24 (01:31:35):
Man?
Speaker 2 (01:31:36):
So it's a lottery remind especially for people from Houston.
It's kind of like the belt Wag eight, Like it
was supposed to do something. It was supposed to generate
money for something that never really happened. Right, We're all
kind of really just disappointed in it. And man, did
you see though that one of the commissioners resigned?
Speaker 4 (01:31:56):
What does that tell you about how serious this is? Right?
They couldn't be bothered to stay around and try to
defend what's been going on clearly.
Speaker 2 (01:32:04):
Yeah, no, that was probably a smart move. I mean
the guy there may have been nothing going on, right, Like,
his hands might be totally clean, but I would want
to run the other direction if Dan Patrick is on
my trail as well, but not likely something is fishy
and when he gets the bottom of it, look, the
Texas Lottery needs to get dozed.
Speaker 4 (01:32:22):
Yeah, no doubt about that. You know, it's funny at.
Speaker 2 (01:32:24):
The bottom of it and find out what's happened.
Speaker 4 (01:32:26):
Yeah, you kind of started with I think the thing
that we all kind of learned the hard way when
it comes to any lottery. I mean we've all but
every just about every state in the United States has
been sold on the idea of having a state lottery,
with the idea that that money's going to go to schools,
is going to fund all these wonderful things. In the experience,
I think it's been the same in every single state
that's done it, which is, yeah, money funds the schools,
(01:32:48):
but money that was in the general fund that used
to fund the schools doesn't fund the schools anymore. It's
so they aren't really getting any more money. You're just
allowing the state. You're allowing the state to spend that
extra money on something else.
Speaker 2 (01:33:02):
It's a great mistake that people make, the mistake of
judging a government program by its intent and not its outcomes.
They sold your bill of goods and the people fell
for it. Look, there are a lot of things that
canna investigate in the text lottery. I don't know why
we give them so much darn money to do advertising
and things. They've got their own little slushes. Any agency
continues to try and find out how big it can grow,
(01:33:24):
of course, still not doing the thing that it was
designed to do.
Speaker 4 (01:33:29):
So what do you think what do you think needs
to happen? Ultimately with the Texas State Lottery at this point.
Speaker 2 (01:33:34):
Well, I mean, of course i'd like to see it abolish,
but I know people, Look, people still like to entertain
themselves with games. Maybe we can just put it in
a basement somewhere and it can still do what it's
supposed to do.
Speaker 4 (01:33:44):
Look, it's going to.
Speaker 2 (01:33:44):
Need to be reformed. We need to make sure that
the money is going to what it's originally supposed to do.
And then it's doing exactly what it was designed to do,
nothing else when you put it back into its little box.
Speaker 4 (01:33:55):
Okay, what are the reasonable expectations that we should expect
than the state lottery at the very least. First of all,
I guess we need to expect honesty, right, we need
to expect transparency. It needs be run on the open.
Speaker 2 (01:34:07):
Up, of course, And there's hearings that will be going
on today in the Texas Center. Bob Hall's bill to
get rid of this lottery courier thing is going to
be heard today, and I set that to sell through
pretty quickly and come out of the house and state
represented match he will be carrying the house. And that's
certainly one fix to get rid of it. Is this
mobile courier thing. So we make sure that it's actually
(01:34:28):
live people winning it, But so it doesn't fix the
idea that apparently you can gain this thing and then
it's not really random and so ultimately really does need
a lot of internal reforms.
Speaker 4 (01:34:37):
Yeah, do we have any idea how this courier system worked?
Not so much from the standpoint of how they were
buying tickets. I think that's pretty obvious how they were
buying tickets. But was it just dumb luck that they
were winning so much money or is there something more
involved there? Do you think?
Speaker 2 (01:34:55):
Man? I think that's the question where I'll wait to
waiting to hear. So I'm I'm wanting answers myself along
with the rest of taxes.
Speaker 4 (01:35:03):
Okay, well keep uspost if you would, sir, appreciate it.
That's Texas state representative from Deer Park, Briscoe Caine. It

look at your money. Jeff Bellinger is here.
Speaker 22 (01:35:13):
And Jimmy Apple is making a big commitment to domestic investment.
The iPhone maker is planning to spend five hundred billion
dollars in the US over the next four years. Apple
says it will build artificial intelligence servers here. It will
hire twenty thousand American workers, a server manufacturing plants planned
for Houston. Domino's pizza sales increased in the latest quarter,
(01:35:36):
but not by as much as expected. Analysts say companies
like Domino's are facing increased challenges to appeal to cash
strapped Americans domino shares or lower pre market. The inflation
gauge favored by the Federal Reserve will be released on Friday.
The PCEE Price Index wraps up a big week of
economic data. Other reports in the coming days will cover
(01:35:57):
consumer confidence, home prices, sales of new built homes, and
demand for durable goods. Stock market futures are higher right
across the board this morning. Now futures up two hundred
and seventy six points. I'm Jeff Bellinger, Bloomberg Business on
News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 6 (01:36:16):
You are Houston's News.

More of what's happening now from the John Morris Services Studios.
Speaker 4 (01:36:32):
Seven thirty is our time, Houston's boring News. I'm Jimmy Barrett,
among our top stories this half hour. Elon wants to
know five things you did this last week during your paycheck.
Trump would like to abolish the irs, but that's easier
said than done. And coming up at seven thirty eight,
it's not the anti vaxers who are the problem with
the outbreak of measles here in Texas. Details and the
(01:36:54):
minutes ahead. You're in Houston's borning news. First, let's check
out that morning drive once again, sky Mike. Oh, what's
going on?
Speaker 6 (01:37:00):
Back quarter?
Speaker 5 (01:37:01):
Slip on I forty five southbound? It's this time west
Mount Houston. It's a wreck reported. I'll get you some
laneage at the seven forty. It's a big backup now
from West Road, losing about twelve minutes this way. If
you're a big shot, jump on the hardy commoners to
the east tex one forty six terrible southbound. They're having
some kind of backup at Bayport and for some reason,
all these container guys are stuck and it's not helping
(01:37:23):
the rest of us. Now thirty five extra minutes southbound
from Laporte. Let's take Bay Harriet Boulevard instead. I'm Skymike
and the Generator Supercenter dot Com Traffic Center from r
KTRH Generator Supercenter, twenty four hour Weather Center Densfogg Advisory.
Speaker 4 (01:37:37):
This morning, it will become sunny with I temperature right
about sixty five war today. We'll check out the rest
of the forecast is going to get even warmer as
the week wears on, and we will talk to Jevino
at the Weather Channel about that in about eight minutes.
Temperature right now currently is forty eight at your official
severe weather station, News Radio seven forty kt RH. It's
(01:37:57):
time now for the news. Here's Cliff's ONDR.
Speaker 6 (01:38:00):
Thank you very much. Jimmy coming up on seven point
thirty two on KTRH top story.
Speaker 4 (01:38:04):
You can't name five things that you did last week,
and you should not be on the government payroll.
Speaker 6 (01:38:09):
Trump advisor Jason miller is Elon Musk casks federal employees
to tell him the five things they did last week
by midnight Eastern time tonight or face getting canned. However,
there was pushback within the Trump administration over this. Several agencies,
including the FBI and DHS, reportedly told their staff to
(01:38:29):
disregard Elon's missive Trump's effort to cut the waste from
the federal government is also targeting the IRS.
Speaker 24 (01:38:37):
Commerce Secretary Harold Luttnik says Trump's goal is to actually
abolish the Internal Revenue Service.
Speaker 25 (01:38:42):
Which I think is more realistic is the establishment of
what is known as an external revenue service to go
after taxes by a tariffs from our trading partners.
Speaker 24 (01:38:51):
Mitch Kramer, founder and CEO of Fluent Financial, says Trump, ultimately,
once more money collected from our trading partners, not Americans,
he may be.
Speaker 25 (01:38:59):
In vising more of a downsized IRS that's not as
bureaucratic and inefficient.
Speaker 24 (01:39:05):
At the very least, a reform of the IRS would
make a lot of Americans very happy. Jarret Lewis, News
Radio seven forty KRH thank you.
Speaker 6 (01:39:12):
Jared. Trump continues to push for a deal giving the
US access to rare earth minerals repayment from Ukraine from
everything they got from Joe Biden.
Speaker 4 (01:39:21):
It is a win win. We make money if the
Ukrainian people make money.
Speaker 6 (01:39:25):
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant. European leaders, upset at being left
out of peace talks between the US and Russia last week,
are visiting the White House this week. For instance, Rance's
Emmanuel McCrone today meets with Trump. The UK also didn't
like being benched, but Defense Secretary Pete Hegsith says this
is about ending three years worth of war.
Speaker 26 (01:39:46):
President is focused on one thing and one thing only,
and that's stopping the killing and the destruction across Ukraine
and ensuring and enduring peace.
Speaker 6 (01:39:54):
Heg Seth on Fox News Sunday. Tensions are rising in
the Middle East. Once again, is moving tanks into the
West Bank for the first time since two thousand and two,
and the country also announces they will stop releasing their
Palestinian prisoners.
Speaker 27 (01:40:09):
After security meeting, Israel Prime minister announced the exchange was
indefinitely delayed, in his words, to ensure the release of
the next hostages without degrading ceremonies. Amass complained Israelis are
also aware of the plan release of another four deceased
hostages in the coming week that would basically mark the
(01:40:29):
end of phase one of the ceasefire agreement.
Speaker 6 (01:40:32):
Greg Palcott reporting there seven thirty four now on KTRH.
More violent crime across the Houston area. In Cyprustation, deputies
are looking into a fatal shooting and an arson case
that left eight families homeless. A fifteen year old boy
is in custody after allegedly shooting his mother and teenage
sister multiple times in North Houston after ingesting edibles. And
(01:40:56):
there's this. Three people were shot and injured at a
bar in the Woodlands. Good se Merritons held the shooter
down until deputies arrived.
Speaker 28 (01:41:03):
Shooter was detained place in the custody and medical aid
was given to the three victims.
Speaker 6 (01:41:11):
Investigators don't know what led to the shooting. Seven thirty five.
Now there are more calls to abolish the Texas Lottery
after Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick discovered a warehouse of lottery
triket printing machines in austin the same place where an
eighty three million dollar winning ticket was sold. State Representative
Briscoe Kaine says this session this will be addressed if
(01:41:33):
we can't shut.
Speaker 29 (01:41:34):
Entire thing down and they've cut its funding and cut
its advertising dollars and get it back to what it
was supposed to do, which was to fund schools, and
it's not so not doing its original purpose.
Speaker 2 (01:41:43):
We need to show its source.
Speaker 6 (01:41:45):
Texas Lottery did not respond to ktrh's request for comment,
and the lottery Commissioner Clark Smith quietly resigned on Friday,
looking at your money. Everybody took a hit under Joe Biden.
That is especially the case here in Houston and another
Texas cities.
Speaker 30 (01:42:00):
While at hub lists Houston as the city with the
most people in financial distress, which it defines as being
behind on at least one loan payment.
Speaker 31 (01:42:08):
In all likelihood, if you're financially distressed, it's a pretty
fair bed that you probably have more than one account.
Speaker 30 (01:42:15):
Jip Bloopoo with wallet Hub says Austin, San Antonio and
Dallas are also in the top ten for most financially
troubled cities in the US. He believes many people are
moving to Texas because of the lower taxes and business
friendly policies, but then have poor budget habits and overspend
on all the attractions that big city life brings. Eric
Sharp News Radio seven forty KTRA.
Speaker 6 (01:42:36):
And then there are gas prices, which are at two
dollars and seventy cents a gallon this morning, the result
of the refinery maintenance aunt Patrick de Haan at Gas,
but he says prices always go up this time of year,
so don't believe the mainstream media hype. We will see some.
Speaker 32 (01:42:51):
Increases here over the week's aead but at the end
of the day, it shouldn't be a record setting year
at all. In fact, during the summer, I do think
that Houston will probably spend a fair good amount of
the summer months for the average gas phrases staying out
or below that three dollars gallon mark.
Speaker 6 (01:43:05):
Yeah, the mainstream media trying to peg the high prices
on Trump seven thirty six, looking at your health and
literally something we didn't see coming, an epidemic of short sightedness.
Speaker 33 (01:43:16):
One of the major factors here is increased screen time,
but there's more to it.
Speaker 34 (01:43:19):
The increased screen time and the decrease time outside. The
limited time outside strangely f fact people becoming more nearsighted.
Speaker 33 (01:43:28):
Optometrist doctor Amanda Holscher says, there is a way to
reduce your risk of developing or worsening myopia.
Speaker 34 (01:43:34):
It's definitely balanced limiting screen time looking down a long hallway,
out a window, spending more time outdoors.
Speaker 33 (01:43:42):
Doctor Holscher says, unfortunately, the only way to reverse near
sightedness is through surgical treatments like lasik Ethan Buchannan News

Speaker 6 (01:43:50):
And I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news weather and traffic

Speaker 4 (01:44:05):
Measles seven thirty eight at a time here on Houston's
Borning News. There's an outbreak of measles here in Texas
and New Mexico, at least in parts of Texas. In
New Mexico, nearly one hundred people have been sickened, according
to state health officials. I'm looking at a New York
Times article. I tell you that because you'll soon be
able to tell by the way it's slanted what their
(01:44:25):
agenda is. An outbreak has been spreading through the South
Plains region of Texas since late January. According to the
Texas Department of State Health Services, and on Friday, measles
vaccination rates in the region lags significantly below federal targets.
On Broady, the department confirmed ninety cases of measles, with
(01:44:45):
at least seventy seven of them being children. Sixteen people
have been hospitalized. The cases come amid growing concerns by
public health officials experts about declining vaccination rates and the
confirmation of Robert F. Kennedy Junior, a prominent vaccine skeptic,
is the nation's health secretary. This is only gonna make
(01:45:06):
it worse. The reality is that when it comes to
the measles, we've always seen upticks in measles cases and
tuberculosis cases, in any cases of anything that is not
routinely vaccinated in foreign countries. You know, the gist of
(01:45:31):
the article is is that we have all these vaccine skeptics, right,
and Robert F. Kennedy Junior is a vaccine skeptic, and
this is only gonna make things worse. The reality is,
that's not what the problem is, at least not for
the most part. The problem is we have a lot
of people who have come into this country from another
country who come in and they don't get vaccinated. So
(01:45:55):
here's the question. If you're why, I guess why would they?
They weren't vaccinated in the of origin, so they really
don't see the need to be vaccinated here. Now, maybe
what they need to do is have an outreach program
for people from Mexico and other countries that don't routinely
go ahead and vaccinate for these types of childhood illnesses.
(01:46:19):
Or maybe we need to make that or we make
that a requirement for kids to be educated in our
public school system. So why don't we make that a
requirement for access to the country, especially now that we
have cut down on the illegal immigration and hopefully everybody's
going to be coming across in the future will be
coming across legally. Seven forty time for traffic and whether
(01:46:40):
together's we check out the driving again, what have you
discovered skyline?
Speaker 5 (01:46:43):
Well, it's not me, it's all our friends that call
in and send me messages. Were super easy to find
on the iHeartRadio app, the tip line and even my
Facebook page. TJ from League City says, here's our problem.
Port Road has a real arm stuck. That's why all
these hard working people with the container trucks are stuck
southbound on one. So going down to Port Road, now,
(01:47:05):
if you're already in that, hang to the left. Let
the container trucks have that rampants on the right side.
We're backed up all the way back from Barber's Cut
and a thirty five minute to lay southbound. Take Bay
Area Boulevard if you can and get around all that business.
Sam Phillippy ad boss. That's the end of a police chase.
I think the police are okay. I think the other
(01:47:26):
guy they were chasing is not. Nothing good's happening there.
They've shut it down, that whole intersection forty five Golf Freeway, Drake,
Texas City, Mike.
Speaker 4 (01:47:35):
From Texas City and Delite City.
Speaker 2 (01:47:37):
There's parts where it's clear and there are parts where
it's foggier than Joe Biden's.
Speaker 5 (01:47:42):
Frank boom Well sid See. We have our own little scale,
you know, for how bad the fugus. Steve from Burton
said two ninety.
Speaker 11 (01:47:50):
A Bob Marley concert.
Speaker 6 (01:47:51):
There we go, and then on two eighty eight we
have our own stick.
Speaker 2 (01:47:54):
Boston's still one hundred foot tall and.
Speaker 10 (01:47:56):
You see the room clear.
Speaker 6 (01:47:57):
He's hard to miss. You're gonna put an eye out there.
Speaker 5 (01:47:59):
I'm sky might get your Generator Supercenter what dot com
traffic Center.
Speaker 4 (01:48:03):
From our KTRH Generator Supercenter, twenty four hour weather center.
We do have the dense fog advisory. But once that
list's gonna be a nice day today, at least, Jeffe,
you no think so. I think so. Plenty of sunshine.
It's a good way to start off the work week.
We've got to do it.
Speaker 6 (01:48:17):
So let's do it.
Speaker 18 (01:48:18):
We are going to see this go until nine am
that dense fog advisory you just talked about. We'll get
up to the upper sixties today, good temperature for this
time of year. Tonight, increasing clouds coming back in late
that dense fog overnight low falls to the upper forties.
So we'll start the day off with the fog and
the clouds for hour Tuesday, and once again we'll gradually
clear those out and then we'll head up to the
(01:48:39):
low seventies tomorrow, and then we get up into the
mid seventies with sunshine for Wednesday. That is as warm
as we get through the work week.
Speaker 4 (01:48:46):
Temperature right now is forty eight at your official severe
weather station, News Radio seven forty KTRH. So I think
I stuffed you with my question today, and I don't
blame you, because I couldn't come up with things I
did last week other than get up and go to
work and do my radio show and then come home
and then take a nap or after I take the
(01:49:07):
dog for a walk. I mean, these are not things
that earn your paycheck. Doing the show part, I guess
earned me a paycheck, but the other stuff not so much.
So I think that the fact that Elon Musk is
asking federal employees to give him the five things they
did last week to earn their paycheck is kind of
stumping them. And I think I stumped you with a
question too.
Speaker 6 (01:49:25):
Hey, Jimmy, it is Eddy on the north Side.
Speaker 36 (01:49:28):
I think I'll probably just pack my stuff up and
get ready to get fired, because I think I can't
think of anything that I've done productive besides doing my taxes.
Speaker 6 (01:49:36):
That's it. That's all I got.
Speaker 4 (01:49:40):
Doing Your taxes should count for more than one thing, though,
don't you think, especially if you're doing your taxes yourself,
you definitely should count for more than one thing. Seven
to fifty time for traffic and weather together my fridge,
that's what I did. Well, that's that's something. Well that
didn't earn a paycheck doing that.
Speaker 5 (01:49:56):
But yeah, there's still food in there that you shouldn't eat,
but mostly, my friend, just just for beer.
Speaker 6 (01:50:00):
It's not really for.
Speaker 5 (01:50:01):
Physe got like creepy CALLI stuff on it. That's ony
Day's science project, you know, So you don't want to
eat the food in there, but there's plenty of beer.
One for six southbound. We got to the bottom of this.
Who was that that gave me from Leak City that
was to do it up up well anyway, One forty
six t J League City.
Speaker 6 (01:50:19):
It's reil arms down on Port Road at Bayport.
Speaker 5 (01:50:23):
It's messing off all your container trucks that are trying
to do their job. And one forty six is awful
coming down from Barber's Cut. Thirty five minute delay this
way you got Katie Freeway delays now Fry Road West
part the fourteen sixty four is the breaks, and of
course between the Belt and forty five North Sand between
forty five and sixty nine, that's a lot of scooching
(01:50:43):
because of the roadwork at Alden Westfield and Imperial Valley
left lane both ways. You never have to miss all
this traffic. You could talk to us on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 11 (01:50:52):
Hey guy, Mike's big rig out here of sixty five

for making me feel it home man.
Speaker 6 (01:50:58):
Thank you dude. Bring us anywhere in the world.

From our KTRH Generator Supercenter twenty four hour Weather Center.
The dense fog advisories in effect for this morning. Once
the fog burns off, it will become sunny about sixty
five today morning, fog again tomorrow, becoming Sunday seventy three.
Then we should be done with the fog on Wednesday,
just partly cloudy with the highest seventy seven, So we
should be in the seventies for much of the rest
(01:51:23):
of the week, which you know, low seventies to right
around seventy would be getting around normal. We're getting ready
to go into March. Temperature currently forty eight at your
official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty k TRH.
Let's get you caught up on some of our top
stories here this morning. Here's clip, Thank you Jimmy.
Speaker 6 (01:51:41):
President Trump meets with Francis Emmanuel Maccron at the White
House today. A capital murder suspect, this is good news
is back in the Harris County jail after he was
wait for it, mistakenly released last week. And an update
on that asteroid that we've been telling you about for
a few weeks. Now, is it going to hit now
or your researchers in Hawaii The chances of hitting are
(01:52:03):
now less than one percent.
Speaker 4 (01:52:05):
Dog on it. Just just wait for some sweet relief.
Speaker 10 (01:52:09):
Good.

Speaker 4 (01:52:24):
Alright, alright, Seapack, let's let's share at least one more cut,
maybe two if we have time here from Seapack. President
Trump spoke at Seapack. We haven't shared any audio from
that for you yet. Here is President Trump and part
of what he had to say to the Seapac crowd.
Speaker 37 (01:52:41):
Welcome back to the nation's capital, where our movement is thriving, fighting, winning,
and dominating Washington like never before.
Speaker 7 (01:52:48):
Nobody's ever seen anything like this before.
Speaker 1 (01:52:52):
They used to have a little smaller crowds.
Speaker 6 (01:52:54):
Here because a little bigger.
Speaker 37 (01:52:57):
The fraudsters, liars, Year's globalists and deep state bureaucrats are
being sent packing.
Speaker 6 (01:53:05):
The illegal alien criminals.
Speaker 1 (01:53:07):
Are being sent home.
Speaker 37 (01:53:09):
We're draining the swamp, and we're restoring government by the
people for the people. For years, Washington was controlled by
a sinister group of radical left Marxists, warmongers, and corrupt
special interests who drained our wealth attacked our liberties, obliterated
our borders, and sucked our country dry.
Speaker 14 (01:53:29):
Not any longer.
Speaker 37 (01:53:34):
But on November fifth, we set up to all the
corrupt forces that were destroying America. We took away their power,
We took away their confidence.
Speaker 6 (01:53:45):
They lost their confidence.
Speaker 7 (01:53:46):
You know, do you ever watch they lost their confidence?
Speaker 6 (01:53:49):
It was so nice to watch. And we took back
our country.
Speaker 37 (01:53:55):
And we must be doing something right because we've got
the highest poll numbers that I've ever had and that
any Republican president has ever had, and our approval rating
is now the highest ever across all demographics. Raspusen just
(01:54:17):
came out in fifty six percent, Insider Advantage fifty six
RMG Research fifty seven percent. And we have many polls
in the mid sixties, one at seventy one percent.
Speaker 4 (01:54:29):
We liked that seventy one.
Speaker 6 (01:54:31):
And according to you gov, a big deal.
Speaker 37 (01:54:35):
Seventy percent of Americans believe that what we are doing
is right and we are keeping our promises.
Speaker 6 (01:54:47):
That's all we're doing.
Speaker 17 (01:54:48):
When you think is keeping our promises, that's all we
had to do.
Speaker 37 (01:54:52):
And their promises weren't worthwhile to go and vote for.
Speaker 6 (01:54:56):
They loved men playing in women's sports open borders, little
things like that. But don't tell them. Don't tell them,
keep it quiet. We'll tell them about a week before
the next election.
Speaker 4 (01:55:11):
There you go. It was too late to do anything
about it. They already know, but they won't do anything
about it. By the way, as you might expect, the
mainstream media has all sorts of stories that, of course
would be the opposite of what President Trump is saying
about his poll numbers. Here's the USA Today headline to
Americans approve of President Trump. Here's what polls say a
(01:55:31):
month into office. The New Republic says Trump blows up
after onslaught of devastating polls. Uh Cleveland dot com. Trump
rags about his popular but new polls suggests a different opinion.
Carville in the Hill says Trump polling collapse already underway.
MSNBC can't stand him. From Ballsey the personnel, Trump scores
(01:55:53):
historically low poll numbers, none of which, of course is true.
But that doesn't stop the left. Doesn't stop the left,
And even though they've just got rid of joy Read,
they will replace her and are replacing her with like
minded people. So the real mission at MSNBC has not
changed at all. Listen y'all have a great day. I
(01:56:13):
hope we got through okay today. I'm by fighting a
little bit of an illness here, but we got through
today and I should see you tomorrow morning. I'm we
could plenty of sleep today. See tomorrow morning, bright and
early five am. He're on news radio seven forty KRH.
