That's certainly the way it was in West Texas for
the last couple of days. Have you seen some of
the stories coming out there at the dust ORMs. It's
like something out of the Great Depression. It's like, you
know something you see on the newsreel of the dust
Bowl days sixty in sometimes even seventy miles for our
wind gust whipping up the earth in the dirt and
the dust and turning it into a giant cloud moving

west to east, some of it making as far east
as here in Houston, where if you notice last night
the sunset was a little a little dimmer than normally.
We're kind of used to the dust in the air,
that the sand in the air from the Sahara when
we get that little phenomenon going on in the summertime,

(08:21):
kind of got it from West Texas this time around.
High winds whipped to San Antonio, where Stinson Mission Municipal
Airport recorded a wind gust of sixty miles per hour
just before one o'clock in the afternoon yesterday. Austin Bergstrom
International Airport in Austin they had wind gust as strong
as fifty miles per hour. Avelene had wind gust as

strong as seventy miles per hour. And these winds are
generally been moving from west to east. The intense winds
in West Texas picked up large amounts of dust and
dirt off the dry ground, carried it south and east.
As at four o'clock yesterday, a large dust cloud moving
through the I thirty five corridor could be seen from space.
It showed up on satellite by the Noah Weather satellites,

big old dust clouds showing up. The cloud of dust
continued moving to the southeast, arriving in the Houston metro
area around six o'clock last night. So the skies of
Austin and Houston were a little bit dimmed. We're gonna
have some more winds today. I don't know what the
winds look like in West Texas, but here in Southeast Texas,
we're looking at ten to twenty mile for our winds,

with some occasional thirty five mile for our gusts. So
we'll see if that's enough to keep the dust going.

those wind reports that they got in West Texas. Now
things are going to be a lot quieter overall. It
looks like ten to fifteen mile an hour winds around here,
so you'll see some things flying around, but nothing.

I mean, that's just another typical day in Texas. What
you're mainly going to notice is it's so much cooler.
It's cooler and a little less humid. It's a nice
