This is Huge Radio seven forty katrh Houston Drive Everywhere
with Venue now the latest news, weather and traffic. It's
more of what matters to you. From the John Morris
Services Studios.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Good morning, five am is our time on Wednesday morning.
Here on Houston's Morning News. Among our top stories as
we get started this morning, a group of Houston radicals
wants to start in La style riot right here. Lina says.
If you don't like what she does, well run against her.
And coming up at five oh eight is Trump getting
together a national policy marijuana details in the minutes ahead.
(00:40):
You're in Houston's Morning News. First, let's check out that
morning Drive. Here's sky Mike dude.
Speaker 3 (00:46):
All right, let's check out you Katie Freeway man coming
in from Katie Mills. We look on a twenty five
minutes nothing now, nothing's slowing us down into the President.
Since we look good, uh pretty, Yeah, we're in good
shape here on West Park Tollway too, Grand Lakes to
the exit for the Southwest Freeway looks good. And if
you're going straight through to the gallery of that little exit,
(01:06):
that makes me nervous because it kind of squeezes down
to that whole thing but we're in good shape here southwest.
Freewy's going new from the Brass River all the way in.
I'm Scott Mike Atcher, USA Rvresorts dot.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Com Traffic Center from r KTRH Top Tax Defenders, twenty
four hour Weather Center, part of the KLAUDI. Today's scheduled
afternoon storm chance probably about forty fifty percent somewhere in
that area right now. Oh Hi today ninety four, I
should tell you that right down seventy eight and your
official severe weather station, News Radio seven forty KTRH. The
latest on Aaron and the local forecast from Terry Smith
(01:37):
at the Weather Channel coming up at about eight minutes.
Right now, it's time for the news. Here's Cliff Saunders, Thank.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
You, Jimmy, and we start with this.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
The National Hurricane Center is watching a disturbance in the
Caribbean this morning. It's going to move into the Gulf
tomorrow right now, low chance of development again. Terry Smith
comes along in about seven or eight minutes from now,
also chopping the news. A bombshell report from Texas Scorecard
says a group here is plotting an anti ice riot
(02:05):
similar to the violence we saw in California.
Speaker 6 (02:08):
They say they're inspired by the anti ICE rights that
we've seen in places like California.
Speaker 7 (02:13):
We're really inspired in particular by unit called PC Defensa.
They had a six hour standof with pips outside of
a cannabis farm called Glasshouse Farms.
Speaker 6 (02:21):
Maria Espinoza with the Remembrance Project, says, the people they
want to protect are hurting Americans.
Speaker 8 (02:26):
You think that they would be protecting the victims, being
a voice for them in order to stop these preventable
killings of innocent citizens.
Speaker 6 (02:34):
Espinoza says, we have plenty of criminals already and don't
need to be protecting illegal immigrant criminals too. Ethan Buchannan
News Radio seven forty ktright.
Speaker 5 (02:42):
Now, despite the threats against them, more than one hundred
thousand new applications have been submitted to become ICE agents
in the last two weeks, five vot two on KGRH.
Speaker 9 (02:51):
I was elected to serve twice, and I think if
Commissioner Ramsey or anybody would like to change that. You know,
election seasons ramping up, and I invite them to run
against me, and.
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Some of them already are Harris County Judge Alena had
Dogo on our TV partner Channel two, responding to Precinct
three's Tom Ramsey looking to push her out of office,
Doggo did not officially say she's actually running for a
third term. We're still waiting for that, and she refuses
to apologize for her behavior and Commissioner's Court last week.
The next Commissioner's Court is tomorrow. Meantime, State House Democrats
(03:29):
have not confirmed a local TV report saying that they
decided to come back to Austin for a second special
session this weekend. State Representative Briscoe Kane tells KTRH. Either way,
it's just a matter of time before they do.
Speaker 10 (03:43):
Not surprised.
Speaker 11 (03:44):
There were discussions on the House sort.
Speaker 12 (03:45):
Rumors that if a second was called that they would return,
But ultimately it really means they recognize that every time
they do this, it's just been an exercise for utility.
Speaker 4 (03:54):
Now.
Speaker 5 (03:55):
The report claims that the Dems feel like they need
a statement by killing the first special session, which will
end on Friday, followed by a call for a second
one immediately from Governor Abbot. So if the report is true,
then it's another ring for Abbot over the Gems. Despite
speculation about a potential run for the White House. In
twenty twenty eight, Texas political consultant Bill Miller says he
(04:17):
expects the governor to run for a fourth term here
next year.
Speaker 13 (04:21):
I think most people assume that he's running. He's raising
money like crazy right now. He's battling with Democrats, and
who's rallying Republicans through his position? So who's all but
running a campaign anyway, He's done a good place.
Speaker 5 (04:34):
Abbott has more than eighty seven million dollars in his
campaign war chest. Already, state Republicans are denying reports of
a loyalty test meantime for candidates by a liberal Texas website.
Speaker 14 (04:46):
A report in The Texas Reviewing suggests the state Republican
Executive Committee as a hit list of lawmakers who refused
to toe the party line. A committee member, a Kiko Conseco,
says that's a lie. The weekend meeting, he says, was
to congratulate members who voted for the party's priorities.
Speaker 15 (05:02):
No one would censured. I don't know where they come
up with that.
Speaker 14 (05:06):
Last year, the Republican Party of Texas made changes to
their rule book. Part of that deals with censures. Candidates
are asked to reveal if they've been officially reprimanded by
the party and those that have been censured would have
their application denied. I'm Kerrie Locke, News Radio seven forty KTRA.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Five h five.
Speaker 5 (05:23):
Kids in the Katie Klein Spring Branch and several other
districts begin the new school a year today. Meantime, the
mainstream media is worried about childhood vaccination rates falling again.
It's the third straight year in a row. Doctor Brian
Junduff blames COVID shots and the left wing medical establishment.
Speaker 16 (05:41):
It's I think reflective of a lot of the misinformation
that came out from the health Authority CDC, FDA, etc.
Regarding vaccine safety and mandates and things like that. Yes,
people are understandably more skeptical now.
Speaker 5 (05:56):
The headlines claim that vaccine exemptions have risen to an
all time I'm high, but that number is still less
than four percent. Looking at your money, the Dow gain
nearly five hundred points yesterday after a better than expected
inflation report for July. Futures are up one hundred and
twenty points this morning. But a troubling development, Half of
our farmers our over retirement age, leading to concerns about
(06:19):
the future of our food supply.
Speaker 17 (06:21):
But worries that the future of farming belongs to corporations
are uncalled for. Texas Farm Bureau spokesman Gary Joyner says,
ninety five percent of farms in the state our family owned.
What is true is the average age of farmers is rising.
Speaker 18 (06:36):
The average age of a Texas farmer, based on our
most recent ad census, is about fifty and nine and
a half, so that is older than the national population.
Speaker 17 (06:46):
And it's still true that the number of farming family
children refusing to continue in the business is also growing.
Mike Shiloh News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 5 (06:56):

I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's news, weather and traffic station
News Radio seven forty KTRH.
Speaker 1 (07:18):
The tools you need to take on the day news
in the morning, weather and traffick. This is Houston's Morning
News with Jimmy Arrett.
Speaker 10 (07:27):
All Right, pivo.
Speaker 11 (07:27):
Wait.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
As we started our morning here in Houston's Morning News,
President Trump hitting that there will be a marijuana policy shift,
a national policy shift of marijuana. Forty five states. Texas
is not among them. Forty five states have legalized the
use of marijuana for medicinal or recreational use, but the
federal government still classifies it as a Scheduled one drug,
(07:51):
you know, in the same vein as heroin and cocaine
and a lot of other things that are far more
dangerous than marijuana. In twenty twenty three, Health and Human
Services recommended that marijuana to be moved to Schedule three.
In twenty twenty four, the DEA proposed to rule to
transfer marijuana to Schedule three. That real change has been
on hold since March of twenty twenty five, earlier this year.
(08:12):
Not sure why it's on hold, but it might be
not be on hold much longer, it looks like. And
by the way, the President certainly doesn't use marijuana. He
didn't even drink. So what has convinced him, Well, probably
that you know, there's well, first of all, there's a
lot of states that we just discussed that have already
made it legal. I think He's probably already heard as
(08:34):
well from veterans groups, much like Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick
has heard from veterans groups that THC is helping them,
helping them cope, helping with their mental health, helping them
with their PSD in you know, don't we want to
help our veterans. Certainly a lot of worse things that
we could be put in have put them on versus marijuana,
(08:59):
which are far more damaging. Now as far as the
safety of it, the pros and the cons, obviously you
don't want kids getting their hands on it, you uh.
And that's and that's where regulation comes in. I'm a
proponent of regulating the use of THC here in the
state of Texas, not banning it the way Governor app
or not Governor of Lieutenant Governor Patrick wants to do.
(09:19):
They say the safest thing to do is smoking. Well,
maybe not the lung part, but it allows you to
pace yourself more effectively other than taking the gummies, because
you don't. It takes longer once you take a gummy
in order to get a result from the gummy. Therefore,
you are inclined maybe to take too much of it.
It's easier to use it when you're smoking it as
(09:41):
far as regulating it goes. So do you what do
you think? Do you think that marijuana needs to be
reclassified no longer considered a dangerous drug? You can leave
your opinion at the iHeartRadio app KTRH. Hit the talk
back button if you make us number one in your
pre set and you've got up to thirty seconds. First
thing where you're calling from? What should the Texas policy
(10:02):
of marijuana be?
Speaker 19 (10:03):
Five?
Speaker 10 (10:04):
Ten time for traffic? And what is together one?
Speaker 3 (10:06):
Who hung out with the kids with the black T
shirts in high schools with the ACDC stuff? Yes, sir,
sometimes you know there's gotta be a little regulation because dude,
I live in the hood and you should see what's
going down. And dude, have you smelled some of those
kids at the gas stations? Anybody else know what I'm
talking about that.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
By the way, did do you get the name sky
Michaels from sky high or from flying in a helicopter?
Speaker 3 (10:29):
It's funny you should say that.
Speaker 10 (10:32):
Sorry, Terry, this is trouble here, Yeah it is.
Speaker 3 (10:35):
Let's we could goof a little bit because right now
our map is looking pretty good. As we come up
the golf Freeway tek de BUCkies the eternal roadwork. By
the time they finished that, I'll probably retire League City
now thirty one minutes up into downtown. We look good
here the Sea Southwest Freeway, Richmond Rosenberg. You have the
lane shift outbound at the Brasses River. Inbound sugar Land
(10:57):
an easy twenty minute roll. Money coming in from Hympstead Terry.
Hempstead is the watermelon capital of the world. Whether there's
some people that'll fight them for that. Coming in from
Prairie View, we're in good shape. If you had a
grand march at your wedding, you rock all the way

Speaker 2 (11:18):
From r KTRH top patch Dependers twenty four are where
the centator Terry is. Here, We've got more than just
Aaron to keep an eye on, now, how about that?
Speaker 20 (11:26):
Yeah, don't turn your back on the waters. The Atlantic
tropical season is still in gear. In fact, this might
not be something most of our listeners know, but starting
mid August through September, that is when we typically see
the most frequent development of tropical storms and hurricanes. If
(11:49):
you look at the six month season, it's mid August
through September that we see the greatest number of storms developing. Well,
of course, let's just get Aaron out of the way
really quicker. It's still a tropical storm with forty five
mile an hour winds, but making its way westward and
likely to become a major hurricane sometime over the weekend,
(12:11):
but still over the open waters, approaching the Bahamas though
by Monday. And then what Jimmy is referencing is this
little disturbance that's in the Bay of campeache or actually
heading that way. It's in the Caribbean right now, and
it'll be making its way into the Bay of Campeachee.
Speaker 21 (12:30):
Doesn't look like.
Speaker 20 (12:30):
It's going to develop, but it obviously we'll bring some
rain into parts of Mexico, and we may see an
influx of moisture making its way up into Texas.
Speaker 21 (12:40):
So we'll be watching that, all right, folks. We still
have some rain.
Speaker 20 (12:43):
We're doing that typical summer thing, sunshine, mainly afternoon thunderstorms.
A fifty percent chance of that happening today, Tomorrow and Friday,
and then forty percent chance of thunderstorms over the weekend.
We'll see those temperatures in the nineties through the weekend.
Speaker 2 (13:00):

All the info you need to take on the day.
Five twenty is our time here on Houston's Morning News. Well,
the progressive left in particular in the media, or at
least appearing on the media, just going absolutely crazy that
President Trump has quote unquote taken over Washington, d C.
Do you know, by the way, speaking about a guy
(13:36):
who does what he says he's going to do. The
National Guard is already there at Washington, DC. It's already begun.
More than less story coming up next, But first we're
doing traffic and weather together. Starting with U Sky Mike.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Let's hit to eighty eight northbound. Let's come up from
Missouria County. If you're going the other way and you
work at Dow, you are loaded, so southbound you're heading

I have to deny them rides because they make my
car smell so bad afterwards, and it last forever.
Speaker 3 (14:29):
Dude, you cannot get rid of the smell. And it's

drawers showing, and they have like these pifty long stockings hairdoos,

The President living up to his word. And because he
is living up to his word, the progressive left is
going nuts, absolutely nuts. Let's hear what they are having
to say and get some reaction to it.
Speaker 26 (16:28):
Donald Trump is using rhetoric and playing on the real
fears that some people have because of what they've seen
on the news.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
He simply a media event to say that the president
is concerned about crime.
Speaker 27 (16:38):
When I go to DC, I'm not afraid of losing
my wallet so much as I'm afraid of losing my vote.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
I'm trying to hold my temper. We have to understand this, Chris,

Speaker 20 (17:04):
And I regret to inform you that the liberals are
once again singing.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
To stop the DC crime crackdown.
Speaker 10 (17:11):
Check out this protest.
Speaker 30 (17:28):
We start this show so many times with the left
is losing their minds.
Speaker 3 (17:33):
Can they please just.
Speaker 10 (17:34):
Lose their voice?
Speaker 30 (17:36):
You know, I would rather hear RFK sing the Banana
song than listen to them. Why do democrats think singing
is a solution for fixing things? Thank god they're not
airplane mechanics or pediatric neurosurgeons because people would actually literally die.
So this is like mass deportations where the announcement of
(17:56):
the policy does most of the heavy lifting. Criminals see
the extra attention paid to criminality and they lose the
incentive to create crime, and then it stops.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
And what does that show you?
Speaker 30 (18:09):
It shows you how you've been lied to by Democrats forever.
Crime is a choice. It's not caused by anything but
the lack of will to stop it. When you when
you engage your will to stop it, it goes away.
Speaker 10 (18:23):
There is no root cause.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
If you can stop it with.
Speaker 30 (18:26):
The threat of punishment, it's not out of your control
like you have this criminal tick ah, I got a loot. No,
it's only done because you have there's no disincentive.
Speaker 4 (18:36):
So I think what's scary to the DEMS.
Speaker 3 (18:38):
Is not the military.
Speaker 30 (18:40):
It's the fact that they know this is going to work,
and that it's already working, just like deportation.
Speaker 3 (18:46):
What are they going to do?
Speaker 30 (18:47):
And if it works there, think about all the other cities, Chicago, Baltimore, DC.
All of a sudden you could see a change. And
the Charlatans who are in charge, you know they're not
going to be able to keep patting their nests instead
in power.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
No they're not, and that's what they bear the most. Now,
this is only for thirty days. After thirty days in
order for the president and his policy in the National
Guard to be in Washington, d C. In order for
this program to continue, it'd have to be approved by Congress.
But then again, at the crime goes way way down
(19:23):
or ceases altogether, why wouldn't they approve it? Five twenty
seven time take a look at your money. Good morning,
Jeff Felincher, and good morning to you, Jimmy.

The deep State.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Remains alive and well, as does judicial obstruction, despite a
ruling by the US Supreme Court that was supposed to
stop it.
Speaker 33 (22:34):
That's because the Democrats are already using another option.
Speaker 34 (22:39):
Even when you tell them they can't do something, they'll
often find it differently of doing the exact same thing,
and that's what we're seeing now.
Speaker 33 (22:46):
That is South Texas College of Law, Houston professor Josh Blackman,
who says they are now using class action lawsuits to
get the injunctions picking.
Speaker 11 (22:56):
Up to other Supreme court. The lower courts have signal

thinking this is a bad thing, keep this in mind.
This is things to reforms based on the recommendation from
the Legislature's Commission on Virtual Education.
Speaker 35 (24:17):
I'm actually very encouraged by what we saw and the
commission studies how this can help all students if they
take advantage of it. For the students that really like it,
they can effectively leap ahead on their coursework.
Speaker 5 (24:29):
State Senator Paul Bettencourt says this model learns from the
failures of COVID, especially on issues like accountability. In Austin,
Texas House Democrats remain missing in action preventing a vote
on redistricting Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton until ktrh Is,
Clay and Buck.
Speaker 36 (24:46):
They're breaking the law the under obligation of their own
rules that they pass to show up to vote, and
when they don't do that, they can be held basically
in contempt by their own body, so they're not being honest,
they're being very disingenuous.
Speaker 5 (24:58):
Paxson has asked a judge to hold bait a work
in contempt of court for backing the runaway Dems financially.
He's looking for fines in jail time. Democrats are only
delaying the inevitable when it comes to redrawing the maps.
Speaker 37 (25:11):
This current special session ends on Friday, but Republicans are
not giving up on their plan to redraw congressional boundaries
as a way to create a handful of additional GOP
friendly districts. House Speaker Dustin Burroughs says that as soon
as this session ends, the governor will call another one.
Speaker 7 (25:27):
He is committed to calling us back again and again
and again until our work is done.
Speaker 37 (25:32):
And when you factor in lawmaker pay security and electricity
for the Capitol building, each session will cost a state
more than a million dollars. That's paid out of the
legislature's operating budget, meaning there's less cash for other things.

tenths of one percent, up two point seven percent year

Speaker 5 (26:39):
KTRH money man Pat Shin says the price increases we

that now would be the perfect time to lower interest rates.

Yeah, I don't think what happened in Kingwood to task
Asita yesterday it had anything to do with love. It
was some sort of a big boom and nobody seems
to know what it is or what it was. A
mystery boom, any idea what it might have been? Here's
the report from Box twenty six.
Speaker 26 (27:46):
Neighbors are left with more confusion than answered about an explosion.
Speaker 21 (27:50):
They heard this morning.
Speaker 4 (27:52):
Tuesday morning, A loud boom was heard.
Speaker 26 (27:55):
In Kingwood, in a Task Casita and even in Huffman,
but no no one knows where it came from. A
task a seated fire, says the initial call came in
around ten p forty from a neighbor on Burl Oak
who says he heard the sound of a loud explosion. Online,
including on our Fox twenty six Facebook page, many people
were describing what the explosion sounded like, saying it made
(28:18):
their house shake, sounded like someone fell off a roof, thunder,
even a sonic boom. First responders with Harris County A
Task Asita, and Umbel are all puzzled by the mysterious noise.
We spoke with neighbors who described to us what the
noise sounded like.
Speaker 38 (28:32):
This sounded like a bomb went off, But I heard
a loud boom which shook and rattled the windows and
the house here, and I got up out of the recliner.
I went out, and being a veteran firefighter, I looked
around for smoke everywhere, which there was none.
Speaker 26 (28:51):
They said it was a explosion, a gas leak.
Speaker 19 (28:55):
I was just.
Speaker 3 (28:59):
Confused.
Speaker 27 (29:00):
It felt like a big explosion of a firecracker, but
one of them was supposed to firecrackers, and it shook
me in the house one street.
Speaker 39 (29:09):
It had a whole bunch of police officers and they
were at this naval house because that's where the address was,
and the guy at the address said that it wasn't
his house. It wasn't it's not here, So we just
rolled around looking and looking everywhere. We still have them
found it.
Speaker 2 (29:27):
We don't know where it is. We're confused. I guess
it could have been a sonic boom. Could that have
been a sonic boom? You heard the boom? I don't know.
It's a military plane flying by at the speed of
speed of sound creating a sonic boom. No idea five

Speaker 2 (33:16):
I might need a little help with this next story.
We're going to do here from some of our trucker listeners.
Or farmer listeners, and I know we have pretty good
quantities of both of those. The EPA lee Zeldon and
the EPA making rules changes over something I'm just completely
not familiar with. Evidently there's a problem with diesel diesel
vehicles that makes them slow down suddenly to about five
(33:41):
miles per hour. So we're going to find out what
the EPA is doing about this. Helping hand is on
the way, evidently coming up in a moment. First though,
traffic and weather together as we check out that drive
once again, the sky mine, all.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Right, let's check your belts and loops, says we lift

I'm not squeezed down a boy, Yeah, a little bit
of a squeeze. At forty five there was a reported wreck,
but they ninjaed that sucker quick and something smashing up

You're reliable forecast next on the ten on seven forty KTRHE.
Speaker 2 (35:34):
You're living the diesel life. You may be able to
tell me what the deal is with this five point
fifty two. Here in Houston's boring news, EPA had Lee
Zelden the administrator. He is helping farmers and truckers with
a solution to the DEF problem. What is the DF problem? Well,
d EF stands for Diesel exhaust fluid. Here's the EPA
(35:55):
administrator talking about the problem and coming up with the solution.
Speaker 41 (35:58):
Maria, as I travel the country, I've been hearing from
truck drivers and farmers complaining about death, asking, demanding, pleading
for a fix. What happened about a decade and a
half ago in putting this new DEF system into place,
the diesel exhaust fluid system the combat nitrous oxide is
(36:19):
that in order to create an inducement, in order to
get people to comply, there'd be this massive deratement in
the engine. So all of a sudden, whether it is
because you don't have fluid in or just the system's
not working. Within four hours your vehicle, your engine's now
(36:39):
going down to five miles per hour. So think heavy
duty trucks, off road equipment, motor coaches, heavy duty pickups.
They out of nowhere. We're going at five miles per hour.
Basically shut off. Farmers, you're pulling their hair out and
for so long pleading for solution, but fortunately that hasn't
(37:01):
been coming well. Today, working closely with SBA Administrator Kelly Leffler,
we are so excited to be able to make this
announcement to get these manufacturers finally to fix these deratements.
The farmers are going to be thrilled, the truck drivers
are going to be thrilled. Couldn't happen soon enough. We've
seen this now over the course of the first six
months seven months at EPA, where we have been dealing
(37:23):
with issues that might seem small to some Americans, but
they are massive issues for millions of others. The death
system is one. The announcement to fix and get rid
of the start stop feature to be able to improve
the flow of water through valves. These announcements are big
(37:45):
deals for a lot of Americans who just want a
common sense in government, and today this is a big
common sense announcement that Americans are.
Speaker 10 (37:53):
Gonna be happy with.
Speaker 2 (37:54):
You know, I'm beginning to think that Leezeldon is maybe
the most consequential appointment the President Trump is made. I mean,
the changes he's making at the EPA to give us
our lives back are really they're really quite amazing. You
know that that start stop feature that just bugs the
crap out of me. I don't mind that it's there
(38:14):
if it were an opt in instead of an opt out.
In some vehicles, you don't have an opt out for
the start stop feature. Myself, a Ronald truck, you have
an opt out. It'll come on with a start stop
feature engaged, but you can hit a button and disengage.
It should be the other way around. It should be
(38:35):
that if you want the self, you know, the start
stop feature, that you hit the button to start it,
to engage it, not to turn it off. Five p

Speaker 5 (41:05):
That would be the excuse given by Harris County Judge

her first public comments since the outburst. She also dared
Precinct three Republican Tom Ramsey to try to remove her
from office, challenged others to run against her, but Ben
wouldn't confirm that she would actually run for a third term.
(41:26):
As for the runaway Texas House Democrats, they won't confirm

Longtime Texas political consultant Bill Miller believes Abbott is content

Speaker 13 (42:18):
A lot of people liked to talk about that, and
I always remind them there isn't really a better job
in a world than being governor of Texas.
Speaker 33 (42:26):
And as for a possible presidential run for Abbot in
twenty twenty eight.
Speaker 13 (42:31):
I don't think it's something he thinks about all the time.
I think he has thought about it, but I think
he's really settled into the job as governor.

Speaker 15 (43:09):
We congratulated the members of the Republican Legislature for the

didn't censure anybody.
Speaker 5 (43:19):
Last year, the Texas GOP changed the rules. Candidates are
asked to reveal if they've been officially reprimanded by the party,
and those that have been censured would have their application denied.
Speaker 4 (43:30):
Six ZHO four.
Speaker 5 (43:30):
Despite the attacks against them, more than one hundred thousand
people have applied to become ICE agents over the last
two weeks, that number coming straight from DHS. Meantime, a
socialist group here in Houston is recruiting volunteers in order
to try and copy the violent anti ICE raids or
rather riots that we have seen in California.
Speaker 8 (43:51):
I think that they know exactly what they're doing and
intentionally trying to disrupt a civil society. We have to
stop people like this who are fighting with criminal illegal alien.

Speaker 5 (44:06):
We've got the video of these radicals from Texas Scorecard

and thanks to the COVID jabs, more parents are opting
their kids out of vaccinations.
Speaker 25 (44:21):
New CDC data shows the number of parents claiming vaccine

Political analyst and medical doctor Brian Jundiff says this is
a direct result of what happened during the pandemic.
Speaker 16 (44:32):
Thanks the government went overboard on SIS recommendations including who

one of our fastest growing areas, specifically Conroe. For months,
new development has been banned in the north part of

to end that man or even expanded. Local companies are
trying to help kind of.
Speaker 42 (45:23):
In the meantime, a lot of our developers who are

Oh yeah, I think somebody who is out. Six oh
eight is our time here in Houston Morning News. Big
changes coming to self checkouts, mainly right now in California
and Washington State where they have pat Yes, government getting
involved in telling supermarkets how to run their business. Don't
you love it? And here's what they're doing at the
(46:33):
self checkouts. First thing about the law says the self
checkouts will not be allowed in stores unless there's at
least one open, manned cashier checkout. Customers hoping to use
the self service systems will be forced to limit their
shopping to a maximum of fifteen items, which means if
there is only one or two manned cashier lanes, if
(46:58):
you've got twenty twenty five items, too bad, you can't
do it yourself. And in what that would really do
at a place like for example, I know Kroger has
some of the and Walmart two they have some of
the self checkouts that are more like the cashier station
where you have the belt and you can have like
one one. Usually if we use it, Elizabeth will put
(47:19):
the items through there and then I'll bag the items
at the other end and we do a regular grocery
shop that way, rather than wait in a long line
with you know, with a woman who's shopping for ten kids.
It has it has a huge card full of stuff.
So that would eliminate the possibility of doing that. Well,
here's here's another rule that putting into effect at some
of these self checkouts. In some of these states, if
(47:40):
you have an age restricted item, you can't use the
self checkout. You have to go to a cashier line.
Speaker 10 (47:49):
Now.
Speaker 2 (47:50):
And one more rule, I guess that you have to
have at least one in some states at least one
employee store employer for every two self checkouts, which means
if you have like eight checkouts, very few of them
are gonna be open because they won't be able to
man it. The whole idea of behind self checkout is
(48:12):
to try to save money on human employees, and they're
taking that away. You know, they keep making rules like
this self checkout won't be along that much longer.
Speaker 11 (48:21):

Ktrh, well still don't quorum and the special session ends On,
friday And democrats supposedly are going to be coming back
or will they be coming back because The governor's going
to call second session almost.
Speaker 2 (53:46):
Immediately SO i would think that if they come, back
are they going to come back and? Stay are they
going to come back and leave? Again who. Knows Sylvia
Kento junior JOINS us political commentator and Also America thinker
contributor where a piece Called abbot breaks The democrats. Again you,
know from our perch, here The democrats have been successful
(54:08):
in preventing a vote so. Far so how do you
think that they've been?
Speaker 3 (54:11):
Broken, well good, morning, guys and thank you for the.
Speaker 44 (54:14):
Invitation, well the POINT i was trying to make in
my article is That Governor abbot for the second. Time
he did it with, immigration and now he did it
with the. Maps what he's been able to do is
change the national. Conversation and the REASON i say he's
broken them is because what we're talking about today is the,
maps the maps from other. States you, know the jerry
(54:36):
mandering going on In illinois And massachusetts and so. On
and that's what we're talking. About and the only reason
we're talking about that is because the governor has done
it the way he did. It so that's Why i'm
talking about breaking The democrats in the. Center we're not
talking about the map Of. Texas we're talking about the
maps in other.
Speaker 10 (54:56):
States.
Speaker 2 (54:56):
Guys even a lot Of democrats understand how hippoc article this.
Speaker 3 (55:00):
Is oh.
Speaker 44 (55:02):
ABSOLUTELY i mean all you have to do is look
at the map Of. ILLINOIS i mean that map looks
like it was drawn up by somebody who was smoking
something they shouldn't, HAVE i, mean and then you look At,
MASSACHUSETTS i, mean there's not a SINGLE gop representative in
their congressional. Delegation and then you look At. California SO
i think the only reason we're talking about these maps
(55:24):
in other states is because the governor basically put this
issue on the front. Page so that's WHAT i mean
about breaking. Them we're talking about their. Maps we're not
talking about The texas map.
Speaker 10 (55:36):
Anymore.
Speaker 2 (55:36):
Guys, well states Like, california, though we're talking About, well
if you redistrict In, texas we will readistick In california
and we'll make up for the five law. Seats do
you take them seriously that they would do something like
that or has the light been shown on this issue
enough where they would be afraid to do something like.
Speaker 10 (55:53):
That, WELL i, Mean.
Speaker 44 (55:55):
I'm SURE i take them. Seriously but the problem they
have in The Golden state is that their process is
extremely complicated in order to draw off more. Seats the
beauty Of texas is that the governor could do it
the way he did. It he calls the, session he
puts the issue on this in you, know as the
lead issue in the session and then we draw the.
Maps they cannot do it that way In california Or New.
(56:18):
York they have their own local state restrictions that make
it a lot more. COMPLICATED i was listening to an
expert On california politics who was saying that even if
they changed the, maps it wouldn't be effective until twenty,
eight which of course defeats the purpose of doing it
in twenty. Six so you, know the governor In. California
you have to understand something about many of These. Democrats
(56:39):
they have to beat up On trump because that's the
only way they can stay. Relevant they don't want to
talk about the issues in their. STATES i, Mean california
is a. Mess AS i always, say the busiest highway
In california is people moving. Out it's a terrible mess
what they've done to that beautiful. State so you, know
they can, say oh that they. Want BUT i Think
abbott has clearly won on this. Fight AND i understand
(57:02):
that The democrats are coming back To texas. WELL i
hope they stay In texas because they're not winning public.
Opinion public opinion is you don't win public opinion by
talking to the. Media In, chicago you win it by
coming back here and making your arguments right here In
texas so that you can explain To texans why these
maps are. Bad but you don't do that In chicago
(57:23):
Or New York. City that's not where you reach people In.
Speaker 2 (57:27):

Speaker 2 (01:05:43):
Forever. Though here's the story that should make us all
a little bit. Concerned and it's gonna. Be it's gonna,
be AND i told you so. Story demand for power
set the surge in the next eighteen. Months here's what
it could mean for your. Bill it means your bill's
going to go up because, electricity like every other, commodity
is supplying. Demand how much electricity is there versus how
(01:06:05):
much electricity we? Need and here In texas we are
a prime example of a state that has not generated
enough electricity for its future. Needs and we are not
doing a damn thing about. It we still aren't doing
a thing about. It so, anyway back to the, STORY
us consumers may see there are energy bills continued to
(01:06:26):
rise following a search and demand for power over the
next eighteen. Months according to a new report from The
Energy Information, administration the demand is largely fueled by data,
centers some of which power online use OF. Ai what
got announced we told you about last week That apple's
could open up a NEW ai data center here In,
(01:06:48):
houston which means a, great big demand on. Power we
aren't doing anything about. It we're not doing enough to
create the. Power THE Eia Short Term Energy outlook released
yesterday forecast the ANNUAL us electricity consumption about twenty twenty
(01:07:08):
five and twenty twenty six will surpass the all time
high reach to twenty twenty, four saying we expect electricity
sales to the consumer sector our commercial sector to rise
by three percent in twenty twenty five and four point
five percent in twenty twenty, six driven largely by more
demand from data. Centers well not only data. Centers now
that we're going to build AN ai data center here In,
(01:07:30):
houston we still have people moving here From california and
all around the. Country our population demand is going. Up
our not just our commercial, demand our consumer demand is
going up. Too come, on, man we got to build
some power. Plants six forty time for traffic and weather.

Speaker 2 (01:31:30):
ONE i for the weather forecast used radio SEVEN. Krh all,
right we HAVE i was gonna, say much to my,
Surprise i'm not surprised by. Anything are there socialists In? Houston?
Yeah there are. Are there a lot of socialists In. Houston,
no probably. Not there was a volunteer orientation meeting hosted
(01:31:51):
by The party For socialism And liberation in partnership With,
houston where they planned to establish a rapid response network
AGAINST ice AGAINST Us immigration And customs enforcement operations here In.
Houston the, session we're told By Texas, scorecard was attended
by about twelve, people not exactly a big, turnout but
(01:32:16):
as we, know when they strike in places Like Los,
angeles it's not necessarily local people who are doing. It
there's a network of paid for protesters who are more
than happy to show. Up Maria espinoza joins us from
The Remembrance. Project does this story concern, You, maria that
These HOUSTON ice operations could become a.
Speaker 48 (01:32:34):
Target, Absolutely, jimmy and you know this Isn't. California we're
an illegal alien can shoot and kill a young lady
and get out scott. Free so we need to nip
this in the butt and quash this right. Away in,
FACT i just got off the phone with The Sheriff's
department and asking them specifically about. This so you, Know
(01:32:55):
i'm encouraging your listeners to call The sheriff's department and
tell them to get on this right, away because you
cannot allow an organization to basically conduct attempt to conduct an.
Insurrection every single person belonging to that organization needs to be, investigated,
detained charged, accordingly and stop this right. Now this is
(01:33:18):
dangerous and think about. This this group is attempting to
organize to thwart federal agents who are trying to keep
our community. Safe this is. Outrageous and let me give
the sheriff's number real, quick seven three two two, one six.
Thousands i'm curious and press prompt.
Speaker 2 (01:33:39):
One did The sheriff's? Department were they aware of this?
Organization were they aware of their? Plans or was this
news to?
Speaker 48 (01:33:44):
Them it seems that They it was basically a scripted
response in that they are only focusing on state. Laws
AND i was quick to tell, Them, look you have
a group here who is tied to, cartels attempting to
attempted to help illegal aliens who are tied to. Cartels
(01:34:06):
and we know that The President trump has already Declared
cartel's terrorist organizations and every person who crossed, Illegally jimmy
had to negotiate With, Cartel So i'm sure there are laws.
Here AND i asked, him IF i was plenty money
in my, backyard you'd come over and stop me and detain.
Speaker 15 (01:34:23):
Me is that?
Speaker 48 (01:34:24):
Correct, well that would they're trying to keep the community
safe and all.
Speaker 21 (01:34:28):
That, look.
Speaker 48 (01:34:31):
They would absolutely stop us from printing money in our,
backyard even though it's a federal. Crime so it doesn't make.
SENSE i did tell THEM i felt like it was
political for, them and they. Have they cannot allow little
girls Like Justlin nungary to be raped and murdered by
(01:34:52):
people who shouldn't be here in the first. Place we
have to act with urgency and stop. This it's ludicrous
what is taking place all across our.
Speaker 2 (01:34:59):
COUNTRY i think the thing that the one thing that
concerns me the most is evidently they have drawn their
inspiration from a group CALLED Vc. Defensive that's that Group Inventora, County,
florida the ones that went out to the marijuana. Farm
they were, armed they were they were shooting at at ice.
Officers you, know they this is a this is a violent.
Group and if they're taking inspiration from a violent, group
we have to assume they're going to behave the same.
Speaker 48 (01:35:20):
Way, absolutely and, again urgency is the key word here
in keeping our, communities our, businesses our children. Safe you,
know this is out of hand and these. Organizations many
of them are funded by our own tax, dollars but
those sons have to be stopped and any, finding you,
know it has to be. Research to, me it's, simple
(01:35:42):
it's not. Difficult you, know either we want a lawful
nation or we. Don't so you, know we want our
children to be, safe or we, don't and we. Can't
we've had so, many many more angel families just in
the last four or five. Years we can't keep. Up in,
fact we've Extended PRESIDENTS Us National day Of proclamation two
add month's long remembrance In. October it's gotten that.
Speaker 2 (01:36:05):
Bad, Well, maria thanks for what you're doing and for
bringing attention to this and for calling The sheriff's. Department
hopefully our listeners will follow. Suit make sure that they're
well aware of what's going. On Maria, espinoza with the remembrance.

Speaker 10 (01:50:44):
Ktrh you, know it's. Amazing.
Speaker 2 (01:50:48):
Yeah we talk about virtual reality all the time and
getting kids off their cell phones and all, that but
one area of virtual reality is just taken off here
In texas virtual. School it's grown by one in the
last ten. Years State Senator Paul bettencourt joins us he
wrote a bill about. It how important is is virtual
(01:51:10):
school just here to stay at this? Point Senator, Yeah.
Speaker 43 (01:51:13):
Jimmy basically what happened is we plunged everybody into virtual
schools in covid well in the wrong, way all across the. State,
now what we saw where about ten percent of the
kids could take off like a rocket ship on, coursework
and others could actually pick up a class or, two
(01:51:34):
like if they Needed french and you, know in a
small rural. Town and and so what we've done is
put together a hybrid bill that, says, okay if you
want to use virtual, schools here's the best practices across the.
Country we did a commission on it for a year
and what we passed the, bill and we've got sixty
two thousand students using. It we expect that it will
(01:51:58):
be over one hundred thousand just three.
Speaker 2 (01:52:00):
Years are they using it through their own? SCHOOLS i
know there's some schools that have virtual school capabilities and
some schools who. Don't it costs more money obviously to
have a virtual. School so who's funding.
Speaker 43 (01:52:11):
That, well that's the. State, okay so we're paying for.
It but we're also opening it up now to where
every school has access to, this AND i think that's
important because then you could blend these you, know these
curriculum with the needs of the kids and you, know
school by, school and that's the right. Decision so we're
(01:52:32):
getting a lot of positive feedback from. It in, fact
it's already been made model legislation by The American Legislation Exchange.
Council SO i think we're on my track to give
students and families and parents an option on taking courses
that can help them get started in a college career
(01:52:53):
or a military career or whatever career they.
Speaker 2 (01:52:55):
Need, okay, WELL i got to ask you about what's
been going on In austin because the biggestoric is the Runaway,
democrats and we're hearing all these mixed message stories today
about they're coming back On, friday or they're going to
come back for the second, session they're giving, up they're,
capitulating and then, no we're, Not we're not going to come.
Speaker 10 (01:53:13):
Back what are you?
Speaker 43 (01:53:15):
Hearing, well first, off what we had in The senate
yesterday is we had a walkout nine of the eleven
senators and this is headed By Carol alvarado because She's
Democratic caucus. Chair they did a walkout on the redistricting. Bill,
now all that did was basically the bill passed nineteen
to two, immediately but they got coast to coast, headlines
(01:53:38):
so they grabbed the microphone and you've got the. Spotlight
now the real action is in The house and we've
heard everything just like you Have jimmy this. Morning, however
there seems to be a possibility that people are, saying,
well we can't get back By, friday but we can
get back By. Saturday now that would give them The
(01:54:01):
house four days to get everything. Done and The senate
has passed. Everything you, KNOW i passed a property tax.
Bill you, know we've talked about virtual education. Earlier we
just passed a great bill about a through f and
which is restoring public education as well as eliminating the star.
(01:54:24):
Test we got all these bills that are already at The,
house but they can't get a signed until The house
gets a. Quorum so we're gonna wait and. See because
the government made us real clear that boom the moment
that we can't you, know The house can't finish their. Business,
bang there's going to be a new special, session.
Speaker 2 (01:54:43):
Right, yeah without any time in. Between so there'll be
no running or hiding, again will.
Speaker 43 (01:54:47):
There well the quote is nanoseconds in, between that's what he.
Speaker 2 (01:54:52):
Says so, Basically i'm sure that law enforcement will be
there too if The democrats do come, back to make
sure they stay where they are once the new session is,
