Morris Services Studios.
Speaker 2 (00:17):
Seven oh one on Houston's Morning News, I'm Jimmy Barrett.
Among our top stories. This half hour operation lone Star
cost Texas more than one billion? Will the FEDS ever
pay us back? You've got to show up to vote
if you want a conservative school board member. And coming
up in seven o eight, why the FBI shows up
just about every week at the Galveston Cruise Port. Details
(00:39):
in the minute ahead. You're in Houston's Moorning News. First,
we're checking out that morning driving again with skymye right two.
Speaker 4 (00:44):
Twenty five, stay the course.
Speaker 5 (00:45):
We cleared the record, Burrell, the backups are almost gone.
I'm questioning. I cleared Golf Freeway, Texas City. Why outbound
not inbound earlier? I think it may still be there,
but we can't get eyes on it. Help me seven
one three two one two. Ts Roger from Magnolia's on
two forty nine, Good.
Speaker 6 (01:02):
Morning, Scott, Mike.
Speaker 7 (01:04):
Gotten Freeway inbound from the north Sam up past Greens Road.
Speaker 6 (01:08):
There's a heavier than normal scrunch. Oh yeah, pretty good.
Speaker 5 (01:12):
Little backup there, so eloquently stated, here's a banana sticker.
I'm in the USA RV Resorts dot Com traffic center.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
From r KTRH top tax Defenders, twenty four hour weather
center becoming partly cloud about this afternoon. Scattered showers and
storms between now and then right now eighty four. I
should say hi today eighty four, right now sixty nine
at your official severe weather station. News Radio seven forty
k TRH. It's time for the news. Here's cliffs on.
Speaker 8 (01:36):
Thank you, Jimmy. It's seven oh two on KTRH. Our
top story this hour, we have a Joe Biden appearance,
his first interview since leaving the White House, and it
was not on American television.
Speaker 9 (01:47):
Do you think it's not common sense? It's perhaps modern
day a piece. It is modern ap Yeah.
Speaker 8 (01:54):
Biden on the BBC, blasting Trump for his treatment of
Vladimir Putin, Heels defended his record, including his open border policies,
speaking of which, when.
Speaker 10 (02:04):
The Biden administration did not secure our border, Texas filled
the gap.
Speaker 8 (02:08):
HS Secretary Christy No, I'm talking about what Texas had
to deal with and of course, Texas wants to be
reimbursed the eleven billion bucks it spent on Operation Lone.
Start a mixed day on the legal front for the
White House as a federal judge appointed by Trump refused
to change her order requiring the administration to bring back
a twenty one year old Venezuelan deported to l Salvador,
(02:31):
But the US Supreme Court gave the White House a
big win.
Speaker 1 (02:35):
A divided Supreme Court will allow the Trump administration to
enforce a ban on transgender military service. While legal challenges proceed,
the majority of justices will allow the band to be enforced.
As appeals courts considered a case, the court's three liberals,
Justices Kagan, Sodamayor, and Jackson, would have kept a policy
on hold.
Speaker 8 (02:54):
Jaron Halpern reporting a bill in the House could lead
to impeachment for these activist judges, But now Speaker Mike
Johnson doesn't seem to be on board.
Speaker 11 (03:03):
We've had fifteen federal judges impeachion the entire history of
the country. I mean, there may be some that I
feel mere at that, but you got to get the
votes for it, right, and it's a very high burden
and Frankly, the bar is high crimes and misdemeanors.
Speaker 8 (03:15):
Johnson adding that if an impeachment were to get through
the House, it would be tough to convict in the Senate.
Senate majority of Leader John Thune wants to speed up
the process of getting Trump's big beautiful bill pass.
Speaker 10 (03:27):
This is a piece of legislation that has broad by
Paris and support.
Speaker 8 (03:30):
Thune is afraid Democrats will try to slow it down. Now,
Trump isn't just dealing with Democrats. Sean Fleetwood of The
Federalist says he's got red state rhinos slowing him down too.
Speaker 9 (03:40):
We have the swamp in Washington, d C.
Speaker 12 (03:42):
But we also have fifty swamps across the country and
state capitals. And that's completely true when you just look
at these numerous examples that I listed in the article
of the so called red states just repeatedly fighting the
priorities of their voters.
Speaker 8 (03:54):
For example, here in Texas, former House Speaker Dade Feelin
seven oh four. Despite the media's freak out over Trump's
first few months, voters are with him for the long haul.
Speaker 10 (04:04):
The left and the legacy media have been trying to
drive the narrative that President Trump's support is crumbling due
to the chaos of his policies, But as CNN recently
found out, Trump voters have no regrets.
Speaker 13 (04:15):
Yes, I would.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
If you go back in time, would you vote for
Donal Shop Yes or no?
Speaker 9 (04:19):
Yes?
Speaker 4 (04:19):
If you had to do it all over again, would you
vote for Don South?
Speaker 9 (04:22):
Yes or not?
Speaker 14 (04:23):
One thousand percent?
Speaker 10 (04:24):
As a Fox News panel of Trump voters found the
same thing, with all of them saying they still support
him and that he needs more time to implement his agenda.
Corey Jolson, who's Radio seven forty ktrh.
Speaker 8 (04:36):
That agenda includes tariffs and they're already helping small and
mid sized US manufacturers get you business. Gene Whalen of
the Wall Street Journal says they spoke with several.
Speaker 14 (04:46):
They were all saying that they've seen some new interests,
some new orders, and that a lot of that is
coming from other industrial companies in the US wanting to
source things domestically so they don't have to pay import care.
Speaker 8 (04:59):
Trump, of course, with the new Canadian Prime minister yesterday,
Mark Carney rejected becoming the fifty first state and said
Canada wasn't for sale. Here's how Trump responded.
Speaker 6 (05:10):
Never say never, never said ever.
Speaker 8 (05:12):
By the way, markets like the news that the US
and China will hold Trede talks this weekend. Futures are
up two hundred and sixty one points seven oh six
on KTRH here at home. Saturday's elections were a disappointment
for local conservatives, who lost school board races in places
like Katie and Fort Ben did.
Speaker 15 (05:30):
One of the biggest reasons for this was low conservative
turnout after twenty twenty four.
Speaker 16 (05:35):
Each time you have success, Conservatives and Republicans now they're
ready to get on with the rest of their life,
to get back to work.
Speaker 6 (05:42):
And do things.
Speaker 15 (05:43):
Fort Ben County GOP Chairman Bobby Everly says this is
a perfect example of how there's no political offseason.
Speaker 16 (05:49):
The Democrats will never go away, no matter.
Speaker 6 (05:52):
How many wins we have.
Speaker 16 (05:53):
The Democrats are always looking to come back, and they're
always going to have candidates.
Speaker 15 (05:57):
He says, Conservatives need to learn from this and get
better at showing up for down ballot candidates. Ethan Buchanan
News Radio seven forty KRH.
Speaker 8 (06:04):
At seven oh seven the Astros lost to the Milwaukee
Brewers last night, four to three. They will finish up
the series today. Coverage starts at eleven o'clock on our
sister station, Sportstock seven ninety. I'm Cliff Saunders on Houston's
news Weather in Traffic station, news Radio seven forty k
t RH.
Speaker 17 (06:22):
There's a lot of stuff happening, k steels, trade deals,
tax deals.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
And stuff like that. Check you in often for all
this stuff.
Speaker 9 (06:29):
You need to know it's stuff.
Speaker 1 (06:30):
News Radio seven forty k t RH.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
That's so peaceful sounding, but it sounds more like my
bath dub than it does like the ocean. Although cruse
you ever been You ever been on a cruise? Do
you like cruising? I love cruising. I had to be
talked into the first cruise we ever took because I
thought I was going to be bored, and I was
not bored.
Speaker 9 (06:54):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (06:55):
There were a lot of things to do on board
that ship. There were you know, you could gamble, if
you're into gambling.
Speaker 9 (07:00):
You could.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
You know, you got the pool, you've got the bars,
you've got your world class cuisine, you got shows, lots
of things to do. Fact, we're taking a group of
listeners on a Greek cruise here in the about a
month or so. Looking forward to that. But in the meantime,
turns out the Port of Galveston is a very busy
place for law enforcement. Here is the report from KPRC two.
Speaker 18 (07:26):
Before dawn and before vessels arrive at the fourth busiest
cruise port in America.
Speaker 9 (07:32):
This serves as the functional equivalent of the border.
Speaker 18 (07:34):
The work is underway for acting Area Port Director John
Landry and his team, now busier than ever before.
Speaker 9 (07:43):
Growth has been exponential.
Speaker 18 (07:48):
He leaves the port's Customs and Border Protection Operation tasks
with screening millions of passengers the money with facial recognition
technology to speed up the entry process. Since the pandemic,
cruise travel out of Galveston has dramatically increased. Data from
the port shows the last two years have been the
busiest on record, with this year expected to be even
(08:09):
busier as a fourth terminal opens.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
As they're floating cities, it seem like there's no rules.
Speaker 19 (08:14):
If something happens that's so legal, you're gonna meet the FBI.
Speaker 9 (08:18):
At your port when you get back.
Speaker 18 (08:19):
Senior Supervisory Resident Agent Don Gay leads the FBI's Texas
City office, now with a dedicated special agent focused on
cruise crimes.
Speaker 19 (08:28):
Most often we see an over indulgence of alcohol on
the ships.
Speaker 18 (08:33):
He estimates that's a factor eighty percent of the time,
leading to federal criminal investigations, most often for sexual assault
and assaults that cause serious injury. The FBI also looks
into suspicious deaths on board, missing persons, and high value thefts,
all with time being critical, very.
Speaker 19 (08:50):
Small window to investigate the scene because you have a
moving target. The ship's in port, you're doing a turnover,
then moving out of port.
Speaker 18 (08:58):
Before travelers ever debud CBP spends days coming through manifest
data for everyone getting on.
Speaker 19 (09:04):
We do some pretty in depth vetting of those folks
who will find out.
Speaker 10 (09:08):
That the individual may have a warrant, either.
Speaker 19 (09:10):
Leaving the country before they get onto the ship, or
we get them when they're coming back and we take
them into custody.
Speaker 4 (09:15):
How often is that happening on a cruise out of here?
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Almost every cruise we see somebody.
Speaker 13 (09:21):
In a secure area of the cruise terminal.
Speaker 18 (09:23):
CBP has this extra screening area where jail cells wait.
Rowdy law breaking passengers usually flagg to federal agents before
they return from c It really comes back to.
Speaker 19 (09:34):
Personal responsibility on these cruise ships, and that's people knowing
when to stop.
Speaker 9 (09:39):
Did you know all that was going on.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
I mean I realized that you know that the population
on a cruise ship for a cruise is the same
as the public at large. There are people who can
make crimes that take cruises. There are people who you know,
have assault records who take cruises, and they could behave
or misbehavior. But I had no idea that they were
(10:02):
keeping law enforcement that busy seven eleven die for traffic
and weather together than carefully on a cruise ship. I
have done that before. I don't recommend it sky mike
at any time, but you know.
Speaker 5 (10:13):
That's a gateway to cigar smoking. Let's take around the
horn here. You're Katie Freeway visors. You don't need them today.
You got breaks now Mason Road. But we're moving fine.
We're not bumping into each other. They did shut down,
by the way, the Houston Avenue bridge another two tall
truck again and they've had to shut down Houston Avenue
over the Katie Freeway again.
Speaker 4 (10:32):
But it's not affecting the Katie West Park.
Speaker 5 (10:34):
You've got breaks at South Park or Cyprus, Oh something
smackling up the Southwest Freeway. Here we are ktr Rachel
listeners the first to know. It looks to me this
like this wreckus right before the museum district exits. Give
me the seven twenty. I'll get you some laneage go freeway.
Who can it be now.
Speaker 6 (10:52):
Serena, Serena actually not quite to buy this to but
it's cleared out.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Traffic is now.
Speaker 4 (10:58):
Moving it right at the all right.
Speaker 5 (11:00):
So we did clear that wreck around the Texas City. Why,
I've got reports of a stall just south of there.
And boy weather Drake from Texas City came up the Gulf.
Speaker 8 (11:09):
My holy.
Speaker 7 (11:11):
Rain down here is not fun and.
Speaker 5 (11:15):

Speaker 6 (11:19):
Terry's drizzled and barely spitting here in New Englands.
Speaker 5 (11:23):
All right, So we've got holy Canoli on the south
side and barely spitting on the north side. Terry, I'm
in the USA r V Resorts dot Com traffic center.
Speaker 9 (11:30):
Before you go. What kind of cigar did you have?
Whoop is the brand?
Speaker 20 (11:33):
I don't remember?
Speaker 5 (11:35):
You know it's from one of Eddie Martini's parties about
six months ago.
Speaker 9 (11:38):
Oh was it kept in the humidor? It must have
been something nice, not that.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
We need a humidor that often in Texas week. Yeah, right,
the whole state's of humidor. Just I'll tell you remember
this name. I want you to try one Arturo flint
day Arturo day time. I won't Inhale, Yeah, don't Inhale.
Speaker 4 (11:58):
So I need to build.
Speaker 9 (11:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
And if you can score one from Cuba, Cuba, even better. Okay,
I'm there. I that's my my very little vast knowledge
of cigars smoking a Tampa terry from our KTRH top
tax Defenders twenty four. Our weather sent terry is here
yet it's it is like a humidor here he is
in Texas at least during the summer months.
Speaker 9 (12:18):
You don't really need a humid or for cigars.
Speaker 13 (12:20):
No, I call it the outdoor sauna. Yeah, pretty much.
Yeah no, but I want one of those holy canolis.
That sounds awesome, all right. Well, it is pouring along.
Speaker 20 (12:34):
The coast as sky Mike's listeners have been letting us
soon yep, yep, Texas City, Galveston, Lake Jackson, and we've
had a couple of those showers make their way into
the city. But the bulk of the rain will be
this morning and then tapering off by the afternoon. Load
of mid eighties today only a twenty percent chance of
(12:55):
a thundershower tomorrow.
Speaker 13 (12:57):
Friday looks dry.
Speaker 20 (12:58):
Saturday a few hours a thirty percent chance of rain,
and then a dry day Sunday.
Speaker 13 (13:03):
So hang in there. We got some dryer weather just
around the corner right.
Speaker 2 (13:07):

Right Fort Ben County, things didn't go quite so well
for conservatives running for Katie for Ben school board.
Speaker 9 (13:31):
Positions in those two different districts. So why is that.
Speaker 2 (13:35):
We'll visit with doctor Bobby Everlee Fort Benn County gup
chair coming up next. First, we've got traffic and weather together.
Here's sky Mike.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
Southwest Freeway inbound before the Montrose Canyon. I've got this
big scunch thirty three minute delay northbound. It sure looks
like there's a wreck at North Maine hard.
Speaker 7 (13:51):
Hatsky Mike Bruce on the hard work and east side
southbound Tollbridge.
Speaker 6 (13:55):
I'm not sure if there's a skunch or some habit.
That's true or oh so well said, But I got
traffic backed up.
Speaker 8 (14:01):
In my rear viewing there.
Speaker 13 (14:03):
All the way past that.
Speaker 5 (14:04):
Then all right, Bruce bringing the burbage. That's a banana sticker.
I'm in the USA Rvresorts dot Com traffic center.
Speaker 2 (14:10):

Speaker 3 (14:55):
Get Houston's news, weather and traffic.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
How I listened to KTRH Chanston. All right, school board elections.
You know they don't always drive a lot of traffic.
So is that what went wrong? Is that what went wrong?
Not enough people showed up to vote in Keller and
Katie and Mansfield. I d's where conservative school board members
didn't fare so well. Let's ask doctor Bobby Everlee, he's
(15:18):
a Fort ben County GOP chair. Voter turnout counts for
a lot, doesn't it.
Speaker 6 (15:24):
Oh sure, hey, thanks for having me on this morning.
Speaker 9 (15:27):
Appreciate it, you bet.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
So why is it that Democrats are better to get
people to turn out to vote in these types of
elections evidently than conservatives are.
Speaker 9 (15:38):
What do you make of that?
Speaker 14 (15:39):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (15:39):
I think yeah, I think there's a number of issues.
Speaker 16 (15:42):
One of them is, as clearly as we saw in
the November elections, Republicans conservatives were.
Speaker 6 (15:47):
Motivated and they came out and you saw the results.
Speaker 16 (15:52):
But here's the thing is, like we always have to
stay ready for the next election. There's always an election
around the corner. And Republicans like to just go on
with their lives, you know, they like to, hey, we
won this, now let's you know, take care of our kids,
let's pay the rent, let's work.
Speaker 6 (16:11):
And they're not looking toward the next election.
Speaker 16 (16:14):
Where the Democrats, whether it's city council races, you know,
municipal races, or school board races, anything they can do
to get into the government, they're always looking and they're
always motivated.
Speaker 6 (16:26):
And that's something that Republicans really need to work on.
Speaker 16 (16:30):
And Fort Bannon, though, we did have some issues to
some personal issues that helped to take out the incumbent
Republican that we had. I mean, these are non partisan races,
but the Republican we had in that race, and that
really really hurt us. Rather than rallying around the Republican incumbent,
(16:50):
we had a faction that split the vote and that hurt.
Speaker 6 (16:54):
Both races, There's no doubt about it. So we've got
some work to do on that end.
Speaker 16 (17:00):
But conservatives in general need to be able to rally, focus,
mobilize in these elections that don't have a major turnout.
In Katie, the margin was exactly what it was last
year when the conservative slate kind of went down to.
Speaker 6 (17:19):
The liberal slate sixty forty. We saw that again in
Victor Perez's race sixty forty.
Speaker 16 (17:25):
So in these small turnouts, we have to be able
to tell people that what's at stake your kid's future,
boys and girls, restrooms born in the schools, that's what's
at stake.
Speaker 6 (17:38):
And this is what the Liberals ran on and actually
won on it.
Speaker 9 (17:42):
And that's amazing, that's amazing.
Speaker 2 (17:45):
Yes, yeah, I think it's one of those cases where
and I'm not quite sure what the disconnect is, but
if you're a conservative, and even if you're a sixty
five year old conservative and your kids are long gone,
not in the public school system anymore, paying through the
nose school taxes, I would think you would want to
you want to have a say, and what goes on
(18:06):
in those schools, that's your tax dollars being spent. And
I don't know that we've done a good enough job
of letting people know exactly how important these local elections are.
The results of local elections dictate your life, sometimes a
whole lot more than national elections do.
Speaker 6 (18:22):
Exactly you bring it back home, right, I mean your taxes.
Speaker 16 (18:25):
This is where the local government is either influencing your
children or fixing potholes or whatever it is. Other roads
structures infrastructure, and so you need to be vigilant and
when look at those tax dollars, see how you want
them to spend, and see what kind of policies you
want that affect your kids' day to day lives.
Speaker 6 (18:46):
And you know, the vast.
Speaker 16 (18:47):
Majority of Americans poll after poll do not support boys
in girls' restrooms or porn in schools. And yet these
people were able to be elected. So we've got to
be able to put the word out. One of the
problems is that obviously in partisan elections, the party we
did a great job with messaging with getting out the vote.
(19:08):
We don't do that in the municipal and school board elections.
That's up to the candidates since it's non partisan, and
they really need to be able to put that campaign together.
Speaker 2 (19:20):
And drive out that vote. There you go, all right, doctor,
good to hear from you. Thank you appreciate it. Doctor
Bobby Everley Ford, Ben County GOP Chair seven twenty eight,
We're taking a look at your money. Here's Jeff Bellinger
and Jimmy.
Speaker 21 (19:30):

We've got slick freeways and Ninja's on the way there.
You got the toll bridge southbound. That's a big old
eight teen wheeler tanker. We're going to need a supersized ninja.
Plus he's hazardous southbound. It's a right lane big backup

Weather Station News Radio seven forty KTRH. It's time now
for the news. Here's Clyffslanders.
Speaker 8 (21:33):
Thank you, Jimmy. It is seven thirty two. Our top
story is the arch of the deal. China claimed it
was not talking to us about tariffs. But somebody was
talking to somebody. Because now the two sides are meeting
this weekend.
Speaker 17 (21:46):
We've agreed to talk then on Saturday and Sunday, we
will agree what we're going to talk about. My sense
is that this will be about de escalation, not about
the big trade deal.
Speaker 8 (21:58):
Treasury Secretary Scott on Fox. Not all Republicans are on
board with tarifs, but some may be softening, especially if
Trump can make some big deals.
Speaker 9 (22:08):
If Trump is.
Speaker 16 (22:09):
Able to use as a negotiating technique the ability of
lower tariffs and they get to a much lower level
than when we started.
Speaker 6 (22:14):
I'll be the first to compliment him on that.
Speaker 8 (22:16):
Kentucky Senator Ran Paul with ktrh's Klay Travis and Buck
Sexton seven point thirty three. A win for Trump on

flag in the Red Sea.
Speaker 6 (22:28):
They don't want to fight anymore. They just don't want
to fight.
Speaker 9 (22:31):
And we will honor that, and we will.
Speaker 6 (22:37):
We will stop the bombings.
Speaker 8 (22:39):
But there is other trouble overseas, as tensions have risen
to dangerous levels between India and Pakistan.
Speaker 22 (22:45):
Pakistan's Prime minister calls it an Act of war. India
says it's hit nine locations housing terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan
and Pakistan controlled Kashmir in response cross border shelling, which
according to the Indian military, resulted in several civilian deaths.
Pakistan claims to have shot down a number of Indian
(23:05):
fighter jets.
Speaker 8 (23:06):
Jonathan Savage, reporting Defense Secretary Pete Hexit, says he wants
a twenty percent cut in generals at the Pentagon Army.
Jag Sean Timmins here in Houston calls it a good move.
Speaker 6 (23:18):
We had generals on standby. He don't really have a
full time job.
Speaker 7 (23:21):
They're just kind of there as polaceholders in case we
need big army groups to go, you know, conquer Russia
or something.
Speaker 8 (23:27):
Timmins says it's an army tradition to have extra generals
on standby, but in this day and age with drones,
there's less need for them. Seven thirty four on KGr
sugar Land police shoot a man who was firing his
gun at the ground near a golf course last night.
That man is in the hospital. No officers were injured.
Houston Mayor John Whitbyer announced plans for the new budget
(23:48):
coming in at seven billion with a B dollars and
aims to address public safety concerns while being balanced.
Speaker 19 (23:55):
Our police department was short of officers or fire departmartment
was severely understaff to the point of being dangerous.
Speaker 8 (24:05):
Wit Meyer says he's balanced the budgets by cutting spending
and by incentivizing retirement for city employees. So far, over
one thousand employees have taken those buyouts at saved Houston
eleven million dollars. Our budget shortfall, though, thanks to Sylvester Turner,
is three hundred and thirty million dollars seven thirty five.
(24:25):
The papal conclave underway in Rome. The big question is
whether or not cardinals will elect a more traditional pope
or somebody who was more political like Francis.
Speaker 16 (24:35):
People will focus on things that seem a little bit
more political.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
The reality is a lot of it is where the
church is in its numbers. It's focus on the issues
of faith.
Speaker 9 (24:43):
That is the primary role.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Jonathan Pope is in.
Speaker 8 (24:46):
Jonathan Science is putting his money on a more traditional pope.
Cardinal Daniel DeNardo, the former head of the Galveston Houston Archdiocese,
will have a vote in the process. Flight delays continue
at one of the country's busiest airport, that would be
Newark Airport because of staffing and equipment issues that could
affect us here in Houston. And it also begs the
(25:07):
question does Houston have air traffic control problems like we're
seeing Newark.
Speaker 23 (25:13):
Helicopter pilot and air safety expert Mike Hatton says it
could happen here. The air traffic control system nationwide uses
old systems, but the New York Newark area is a
very complex air traffic area. Interesting though, there have been
several cases over many years where federal money has been
set aside to upgrade the system, then the money disappears.
Speaker 7 (25:33):
I just know that the money leaked away from wherever
it was allocated into other projects, and here we are
today with this. So that's why I say it's unexcusable.
This is a this is a leadership failure on really
all administrations up.
Speaker 9 (25:46):
To this point.

It could be a viable way to spread out your
cash flow and afford something, but sometimes it's also a
ticket to impulse buying and overspending bank rates.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
Just in time for Mother's Day coming up on Sunday,
would you like a little Mother's Day guilt?
Speaker 13 (26:44):
Call your mother?
Speaker 4 (26:45):
Call your mother?
Speaker 2 (26:46):
Ball ahead of Mother's Day. This Sunday found the twenty
two percent of us feel like we don't call mom enough.
The overall average is once a week. I don't think
I ever called my mother once a week. So if
that's the average you're doing, I think you're doing pretty good.
Here's some early Mother's Day guilt. How often do you
call your mom and is it enough? Twenty two percent,
(27:08):
as I said, said that they don't call mom as
much as they should. The average once a week. If
once a week is enough, How often should you call
your mom? It probably depends on how old you are
too and how old your mom is. Here's some more
stats from the survey. How often do you make your
mom feel appreciated? That's probably a more important one. The
(27:29):
average answer was less than twice a month. The top
ways we do what are by spending time with her
or just saying I love you. Sixty eight percent think
they know their mom better than anybody else in their life.
Seventy percent worry their mom has too much on her plate.
Sixty seven percent thinks she spends too much time worrying
about other people's needs. Massages are a very popular Mother's
(27:49):
Day gift, but mom's were asked what the perfect gift
would be, and massage only ranked fifth. Here's what moms
really want for Mother's Day. Number one on the list,
sleeping in. That's right, I'm sleep, don't wake me up.
Sleeping in number two, getting her hair done number three,
(28:09):
having somebody else cook number four, listening to music and
then comes getting a massage. Rounding out the top ten,
We're getting her nails done, going for a walk, reading,
catching up on TV, and taking a nice long bath. Actually,
thirty nine percent of bombs say they wouldn't mind being
left alone one day. Just leave me alone and let
(28:30):
me enjoy my day. However you celebrated, you know, my
mom has passed. I don't have a mom to celebrate
it with. So appreciate your mom and you know, and
do something special for because you know they're not around
forever seven forty. Time for traffic and weather together, like
what you we'd like Skymike.
Speaker 5 (28:46):

Speaker 9 (33:58):
Administration we have a.
Speaker 24 (33:59):
Lot of work to do after the last four, years
we're going to have to reverse What biden. Did President
trump's the exact person to do. IT i think he's
going to do. It it's going to take a little
bit of time because, frankly there's so much devastation that's
occurred in Housing. Maria you, know inflation just ravaged the housing.
Market people couldn't afford, homes people couldn't afford, rent and
so thank God President trump was elected and we're focused
every day At Fanny may And Freddie mack on making
(34:21):
sure that we can get mortgages and get The american
dream back for All.
Speaker 4 (34:24):
Americans so what did you?
Speaker 1 (34:25):
Do you tried to clean out the.
Speaker 24 (34:26):
Place, well we got rid of a bunch of different board,
members and we basically are exerting the authority that THE
Us Federal housing has and has always. Had it's always
been essentially the board, chair the board, itself the, stockholders
and really what we're.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Trying to do is run these things as.
Speaker 24 (34:39):
Businesses what a novel, Idea, Right instead of running it
like a bureaucrat or an academic or a, Professor President
trump hired a, businessman and we're running them like, Businesses.
Maria they're safer and sounder than ever. Before we've got
a great balance. Sheet you, know OUR ltv is around
fifty percent loan to value on our balance. Sheet we
have four point four trillion At Fanny. May so things
are very. Good they will be very. Stable we're very,
(35:02):
careful but at the same time we're making sure that
these are assets that are used for the benefit of
The american.
Speaker 16 (35:06):
People so how does it work because these are also
publicly traded.
Speaker 14 (35:09):
Stocks explain to investors how THE us government is overseeing
this and yet they still trade.
Speaker 10 (35:15):
Publicly.
Speaker 24 (35:16):
Yeah so the companies basically went into essentially bankruptcy in
two thousand and, eight as everybody, knows and they went into.
Conservatorship and SO i served Through President trump as the
regulator as well as the conservator and so you have
these two different. Hats it's quite unique What congress has
created in this. Position but my main, Focus, maria is
on creating value and Helping, trump Helping President trump restore
(35:38):
The american dream for. Everyone President trump can do it,
alone but what we're trying to do At Fanny may
And Freddie mack is really add, support especially on the
financing and mortgage. Side AND i feel very confident In
President trump's going to turn around the housing. Market but
the last four years in this housing market have been
devastating For.
Speaker 2 (35:52):
Americans, YEAH i agree with, them. THOUGH i think it's
just a matter of time once those interest, Rates once
we can get interest rates down around five, Percent Katie
bartha Door, man things are gonna take. Off, Listen you'll
have a great. Day stay dry if you. Can i'll
